The song is about a man trying to convince a woman named Mary to go for a boat ride with him on a gondola in Venice. He wants to take her to the beach to teach her how to kiss. Mary refuses, saying she can't trust him since he previously stole a kiss from her behind a tree. Throughout the song, the man pleads with Mary to change her mind, promising he will be good. He points out the beauty of Venice at night under the moon and stars. In the end, Mary still refuses the gondola ride, but the man says he will kiss her anyway.

The performance will have girls as witches and boys as cats, bats and trees.
