The document discusses the redevelopment of the Trowbridge Road Corridor in East Lansing, Michigan, which was identified in 2006 as an important area for future redevelopment due to its high visibility and access to Michigan State University. Redevelopment was needed for most properties along the corridor to address preexisting weaknesses like pedestrian safety issues, traffic noise, poor parking lot conditions, and pass-through traffic. River Caddis Developing is overseeing the redevelopment of the area into Trowbridge Village to better complement the surrounding land uses.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

2. The s Mother, Kine Thiam
Born as Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, Akon was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 16, 1973, the
son of Senegalese parents who traveled to the United States for his birth in order to ensure that future
immigration would not be a problem for them. His family returned to Dakar, Senegal, in West Africa,
when Akon was young and lived there until he was seven years old, when they moved back to the
United States. He had a difficult time adjusting to life in the United States. Akon s mother, Kine
Thiam, is a dancer; his father, Mor Thiam, whom is a well known as a jazz percussionist. From Akon s
influence from his parent, Akon had a strong love for music from an early age.
After growing up in Jersey City, New Jersey, Akon began singing and performing as a teenager.
Surrounded by music at home, Akon developed an early appreciation of various types of music, and
he grasped influence from Stevie Wonder and Phil Collins to Steely Dan. As a teenager he grew to
love hip hop music, and he began writing songs, blending R B lyrics with hip hop beat structures.
Though he showed an early musical talent, Akon did not believe he would succeed as a recording
artist, and at a young age he turned to crime to make ends meet such as: gang banging and drug
procession.
After dropping out of high school, Akon moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he specialized in stealing
high end automobiles, selling them, selling drugs, and gun activities. After multiple attempts of auto
theft, his criminal

3. Advantages Of Securitisation In Nigeria
This paper seeks to discuss securitisation as a viable, and an alternative way of raising additional
capital for business organisations. Business organisations and other corporate entities require
substantial capital to grow and expand their ventures. When the financial resources of a business entity
are stretched to the limit, equity capital is scarce and therefore expansion is stalled. Therefore, in order
to improve their financial liquidity, the shareholders may not be ready to relinquish their holdings by
issuing stocks to the public. Hence, they have resorted to innovative ways of raising additional capital
with minimal cost. Securitisation has been found to be a convenient way of raising funds by
transforming unmarketable assets/receivables into tradable securities through the instrumentality of
Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs). For this reason, the securitisation market has continued to grow.
Securitisation has witnessed exponential growth from a non existent industry in 1970 to $6.6 trillion
as of the second quarter of 2003. As it has been revealed in numerous instances, SPVs have been put

The Cold War represents the disputes between the Soviet Union and the United States, and may be the

because it influenced foreign policies, impacted our economy, and even affected Presidential elections.
The United States was worried that the Soviet Union would extend communism throughout Europe
with its power and control over smaller and weaker countries. At the beginning of the Cold War the
struggles between the United States and the Soviet Union were more political than military. The

Today s your day, Ez. Get in the fuckin car. Abe shouted from the driver s seat, even though I was

Not in the back. I saved shotgun for ya. It was only a couple months since I became an official a part
of the gang, and I already got to sit up front with Abe. I got in the small electric car and thought about
the precious seat. Solo said he worked to impress Abe for five hundred forty seven days (or a year and
a half) before he got shotgun, but now he was back sitting behind him. His blond curls were squished
against the door to make room for Sus s gigantic arms. Took you long enough, kid. Cob greeted me as
I closed the door. He called me kid , even though I was two years older. He was old enough to still be
in high school, if he could afford that shit. Abe turned the key as the door slammed. The recorded
rumble of a muscle car hummed from the speaker on the grill, which signaled the car was on. We
drove from my apartment on the north bank of the river, across the bridge into South Side. You re

Rock Era
The Beatles were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era. They introduced more
innovations into popular music than any other rock band in the twentieth century.
The Beatles was a distinguished group of young band artist. They were the Fab Four, or as the
reporters call them Mop Tops. They were very different then most rock bands because they had a
British accent. The band began in the late 1950 s. Every member of the band was young, they all
started their love of music as a teenager. John was the origin of the Quarrymen, later known as the
Beatles. John started out as a young artist in high school with his band from the inspiration from Elvis

8. Editing In The Battle At Ambush Gulch
Fox News constantly shows and support Trump s remarks on Hispanic and Muslims and his political
views while other networks question his them. The media manipulates images, videos, and messages
in order to convey it according to the networks moral compass through a procedure called editing.
Editing is a vital part of the media, and an effective use of it in films can convincingly persuade
audience into believing the filmmaker s narrative of good and bad. The Battle at Elderbush Gulch by
D.W. Griffith and The Shirt by Shelly Niro edit their films effectively to convey their story and

Given the fact that the film was made in 1913, it would be safe to assume that discrimination and
prejudice are still present against the Aboriginals. For example, the federal Department of Indian
Affairs did not do a good job of encouraging an interest in literature and the Aboriginals did not get
much out due to this. The film shows more of the arc of the protagonists showing them move to their
uncle s home where dogs are not allowed. Meanwhile, the Aboriginals nearby are having some sort of
ceremony. The way the film is edited at its beginning shows in great detail how well mannered the
girls are and how nice the people of the town are while the scenes with the Aboriginals are shown in a
way that the audience is not able to understand what the Aboriginals are doing and what the ceremony
is for because their scene is shortened when compared to the scenes with the white people.
Furthermore, the editing in the scenes leading up to and including the murder of the Chief s son
clearly portrays the Aboriginals as the villains. One of the battle scenes, when the Aboriginals are
surrounding the house the shot is taken from afar. This scene is edited in such that the shot has a
vignette which is concentrated at and around the house. It shows the Aboriginals are killing all these
white people but whatever is happening in the areas of the shot that are black is open to speculation.

9. The Philosophy Of A Coaching Philosophy
A coaching philosophy is a key base for which a coach works and builds on, said to be built on a set of
standards by which a coach influences, teaches, and models (Brunner 2013) . Lyle (2002 )Has also
described Coaching Philosophy as a collective of values, beliefs, assumptions, attitudes, principles and
priorities which underpin practice. When creating a Coaching Philosophy there are four key aspects a
coach should reflect upon, and scaffold their philosophy around Axiology, Ontology, Epistemology
and Pedagogy. Axiology, encompasses morals, values, ethics, and ideals which coaches place differing
importance on. Axiology in a coaching context is important as it forms the basis for the type of culture

I believe Brofenbrenner theory and Coaching Philosophy cycle are closely linked because as the cycle
suggests, when we experience new things we go through a process of response, and consequence, and
from that our philosophy adapts. Much like the ecological theory suggests that our philosophy will
continue to develop and expand as we experience new things, or the environment around us changes.
Reflective Practice, is a process through which coaches challenge the way in which they coach, their
opinions, beliefs and assumptions, or as stated (Learn Site) thinking about how you teach (Coach) and
refining your teaching (Coaching) practice according to those thoughts (Diggins, 2002, pg 11, cited on

through the work of Brookfield(1995) that to become critically reflective, we need to find some lenses
that reflect back to us a stark and differently highlighted picture of who we are, and what we do

As proved today, we should clearly stay under Britain s rule. Let s not forget that being a loyalist was
very risky and unsafe. Whenever someone was a loyalist they were put into danger because patriots
were known to overreact. For example, when Thomas Hutchinson revealed he was a loyalist, patriots
burnt down his house instead of being civilized. Also, you could be imprisoned by the patriots just for
being a loyalist. The patriots felt that being a loyalist was wrong and would imprison you just for
having that opinion. Along with being imprisoned, you had to pay a huge amount of money to get out.
This goes to show that many people were afraid to be loyalists because of the consequences and how
violent the patriots were. This also shows that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They protested for taxation without representation simply because they didn t want to pay taxes, and

Massacre. The Boston Massacre wasn t even a massacre despite the name. This was when some
patriots started throwing snowballs at soldiers and the soldiers had to defend themselves from the
patriots, so the patriots were shot. The Boston Tea Party was when a very small tax was placed on tea
and the patriots weren t happy about that. So instead of paying the very small tax, they went onto the
tea ships and dumped the tea into the ocean. The taxes would overall help us in the end, because they
also helped with protection and a better military. For their protests on Taxation without representation
, they were protesting something that wasn t completely true. Actually, it was false because there was
representation. Each colony had someone that could go to Parliament and speak on the colony s
behalf. As for the taxes, they were placed on all of Britain, not just the colonies, yet the patriots were
not satisfied and decided not to pay the taxes even though they were cheaper than what Britain had to

1. Cash normally consists of coins and currency on hand, bank deposits, and various kinds of orders
for cash such as bank checks, money orders, travelers checks, demand bills of exchange, bank drafts,
and cashiers checks. Balances on deposit in banks which are subject to immediate withdrawal are
properly included in cash. Money market funds that provide checking account privileges may be
classified as cash. There is some question as to whether deposits not subject to immediate withdrawal
are properly included in cash or whether they should be set out separately. Savings accounts, time
certificates of deposit, and time deposits fall in this latter category. Unless restrictions on these kinds
of deposits are such that they cannot be converted (withdrawn) within one year or the operating cycle
of the entity, whichever is longer, they are properly classified as current assets. At the same time, they

When I was younger I would make conversation with any breathing personage. As I grew older just
the thought of having to interact with someone I did not know was mortifying. Therefore, signing up

the night before, I wandered on to the bus at six in the morning. A forty five minute drive and forced
to scarf up my cell phone. Arriving at the camp we were greeted by a thousand smiling faces. Settling
into our cabin, I was a little more relaxed until I heard the bell. Curiously, we walked out onto the
porch to see everyone running. Our cabin quickly followed into the chaos. I Pushed and scraped my
way through everyone, and made my way to the front row of the club room. I thought to myself how
idiotic it was, I was already a Christian. What else is there to learn about God? Little did I know. That
night was the first time I had been introduced to God on a deeper level. I saw him as intimidating and
loving instead of a fictional character in my head. I felt comfort and at peace for once. July twenty
fourth, two thousand and sixteen is the day that changed my life forever. I heard the greatest love story

to avoid conflict and maintain peace. Main driving force can also be defined as the biggest motivation
for Hitler to pursue his expansionist policies which is his ideas of establishing Lebenstraum and

Appeasement made Hitler bolder in his expansionist policies. An example of appeasement is the
Reoccupation of Rhineland. When Hitler ordered his soldiers to march into Rhineland, breaching the
terms of TOV, France was prepared to force Hitler back down if Britain agreed to support her.
However, Britain wanted to avoid going to war by all means so Britain appease Hitler by not doing
anything to force him to back down. France believed that there were 295,000 men stationed in
Rhineland which in reality was a bluff and was not confident of fighting Germany alone so she backed
away. Thus, Hitler was able to invade Rhineland. The appeasement made it an easy way for Hitler to
acquire more land even though he did not have enough soldiers because even countries like France
and British believed that Germany s military was that strong and were willing to give in easily to
Hitler s demand. Also, appeasement resulted Hitler to become even bolder in his expansionist policies
by demanding more lands as he knew that Britain and France was the most unwilling to fight a war
and would not put a stop to his actions even if it means breaking the international law. Thus,
appeasement was a small driving force behind Hitler s expansionist

17. Modern Family Vs. Present Family Essay
1950s Family vs. Present Family There is always that one question that has been on everyone s mind,
what does a real family look like? What is a family? What are mothers supposed to do? fathers?
children? What are their gender roles? Well, during the 1950s, there were many families whom
believed that the show I Love Lucy portrayed the perfect family, but that was back in the good old
days . It has been more than 50 years and there are still current shows today that portray a perfect
family, in different ways. The American television series, Modern Family portrays one big perfect
straight, gay, diverse, traditional family. These televisions hit series are informing the audience how a
perfect family is supposed to be but some in a positive way and others in a negative way. Well, the real
answer is that the 1950s were not the good old days . For example, in the television hit series, Modern
Family , episode 2 and 3 season 1, portrays an imagine of what the key is to being a great dad . The
first family (Jay, Gloria and Manny) take a while to respond to this question but towards the end of the
episode Jay says, Sometimes things work out just the way you want. Sometimes they don t. You have
to hang in there. 90% of being a dad is just showing up . The way Jay responds to the question shows
that he is very sympathetic and wants Manny to still view his father, Javier, as the prince he describes
as. Javier was not able to take Manny to Disneyland and let Jay know,

To what extent did cross cultural differences have an impact on the failure of merger Daimler Benz
and Chrysler Corporation ?
Kamilia Broderick
H00287852
Executive Summary
This case study explores the failure of the merger of two renowned car companies, Daimler Benz and
Chrysler and how the integration of the two contrasting organisational cultures resulted in a cross
cultural mismatch. Due to the lack of cultural understanding from both sides, the notion of potential
synergies as a result of the combination went unrealised. The study/research of cross cultural
management in organisations plays an important role in fathoming why this merger was unsuccessful.
Introduction
In May 1998, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to a study on cultural strategies (Steven H. Appelbaum et al, 2009), the assessment of these
cultural variables within organisations has significant relevance to the success of their integration;
simply assessing the cultural similarity/differences increase the odds of successful mergers. The more
compatible the companies are, the less likely they will face adversity. When it came to operations and
management, Daimler Benz and Chrysler could not properly blend due to Germans and Americans
contrasting approaches of administrative issues, as well as communication styles and other
differences. In fact, a vast number of significant Chrysler executives and engineers resigned which
lead to the dissatisfaction of Daimler employees with Chrysler s division performance. As a result, the
two cultures were extremely unhappy working together. One of the Daimler managers (Jürgen
Hubbert) stated prior to the merger, We have a clear understanding: one company, one vision, one
chairman, two cultures. , however failing to realise that they were two cultures with strong distinctive
heritages in other words, it was a failure of fit (The Economist The DaimlerChrysler emulsion , 2000).
It was evident that the people suffered from culture shock, as they were systematically confronted with
behaviour not compatible with their own culturally determined rules of behaviour (Gerhard Fink et al,
2007). It was obvious that there was a lack of cross cultural management from

19. A Reflection Of Observation In The Classroom Behavior
In my twenty hours of observation I have learned quite a bit about how a teacher does an ever
challenging job, which includes monitoring students behavior, making sure each and every student is
involved in an active learning environment, and creating a safe, yet creative classroom environment.
The teacher I observed was amazing at her job, and by watching as she interacted with the students, I
could see the impact that a teacher truly has on a student. I have even learned that classroom
organization can change how a student learns, and during my observation the teacher shared with me
that by organizing her classroom in a central facing manner, she was able to draw attention to herself
as she stood at the focal point in the classroom. This allowed the teacher to draw the students attention
to her and away from any distractions that may have arisen in the classroom. I had also noticed how
organized other material was in the classroom from course related books to the classroom rules and
behavior guidelines. The students seemed to follow the rules better in this classroom with clearly
labelled and organized behavior guidelines and rules unlike other classrooms that I have observed in
the past. One of the first things that I noticed when I began my observation was that of the classroom
atmosphere that the teacher had created for the students. The teacher taught social studies and had
setup her classroom with a multitude of social studies related material. There was a large world history
board that included a detailed map of the world and two handmade house shields from the Middle
Ages. There was also pictures of United States Presidents including President Abraham Lincoln and
George Washington. My most favorite aspect of the classroom were the inspirational quotes that were
put up around the ceiling of the room, which included the Gettysburg Address and the famous We Can
Do It! poster from World War II. The students even noted that they enjoyed an American Dream
board, which had maps from the students current lesson in the book as well pictures of the main
figures that were discussed in class. The lesson that was being taught when I observed was that of the
French Indian War, and multiple maps of the Ohio

20. 13 Epistles Of The Bible By Galatians
The Apostle Paul is no stranger to the average Christian; after all, he is responsible for writing the
majority of the material listed in the New Testament of the Bible. Thirteen epistles of the New
Testament begin with the formula such as Paul, servant of God being address to the different
audiences, conversely, most scholars believe that Paul was actually only responsible for writing about
seven of the epistles. The book that this paper is focused on, Galatians, would be one of those books
that is believed to be written by the hand of Paul under the divine guidance of God and the Holy
Spirit. This epistle will humble you and challenge your way of thinking as it has done this to millions
around the world. The simple truth is that every

21. A Reflection On My Philosophy Of Education
My philosophy of education is that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and
stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and
socially. A safe environment is very beneficial to a child s learning. Providing a safe environment will
allow a child to expand his or her horizons and feel free to learn new tasks and topics. A vision
statement is a public declaration that schools use to describe their high level goals for the future and
for what they hope to achieve if they successfully fulfill their organizational purpose. A vision
statement may also describe a school s ideals, its organizational values, long term objectives, or what
it hopes its students will learn or be capable of doing after graduating.
We will have a peaceful, productive, caring, and orderly learning environment that meets the
academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of all students. Our goal is to prepare students
for a successful school experience without the need for remediation.
I incline to have an effective impact on the culture at Waynesboro Middle School. There will be a
reinforcement of trust, collaborative decision making, and a shared sense of purpose within the school
environment. Everyone will be a lifelong learner at the school including: students, teachers, parents,
and administrators. Professional development will be a key aspect in meeting the needs of diverse
learners and student achievement; in

22. The Characteristics Of My Virtual Child In My Virtual Child
With what I have learned from My Virtual Life, I now understand the complexities of raising and
guiding a child. Mere decisions made during infancy can affect a child s long term physically,
cognitively, and emotionally. To make important developmental decisions simply be classified as a
challenge, it is one of the hardest things parents experience. Making decisions for one s self, opposed
to making decisions to one s child is so challenging that most people will not understand until they
have kids themselves. My virtual child covers physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development
at several age levels. This gave me an opportunity to visualize the whole child at various points in
development. I raised a virtual child from birth to 18 years of age. Each virtual child has a unique set
of characteristics at birth, some of which were influenced by how I answered the assessment I
completed when I first logged onto My Virtual Child. These characteristics gradually emerged and
affected his behavior and development. In the virtual child program I completed I gave birth to a
healthy baby girl by the name of Shanti. I chose the name Shanti because of the meaning. The
meaning of Shanti in Hindi means peace, and bliss. When Shanti was at about six years old, I gave
birth to another baby girl and I named her Angeli meaning, angel. During this whole experience, I was
married and there was never any change in our marital status while raising our virtual children.

24. 12 Years A Slave
My choice of the movie 12 Years a Slave is an outstanding depiction of the lives of slaves in the 1840
s. This film follows the gruesome life of Solomon Northup. A black man born free in Saratoga, New
York. Who was fooled, poisoned, and abducted by men who sold him into slavery. The movie is based
on the book called Twelve Years a Slave: Narrative of Solomon Northup, a Citizen of New York,
Kidnapped in Washington City in 1841, and Rescued in 1853, From a Cotton Plantation Near the Red
River, in Louisiana.
The accuracy of the film was spot on. It depicted all the horrors and history of slavery very well. In
fact Dr. Emily West, an associate professor of history at the University of Reading supports my
statement when she states I have never seen a film represent slavery so accurately. It portrayed the
difference of the masters by showing how one was kind to Northup and how the other was a Nigger
Breaker. Also just as History says, slave owners justified their actions with the bible, and their

26. The Topic Of Specific Language Impairment
The topic of Specific Language Impairment (SLI) has been debated throughout the field of speech
language pathology for various years. It is a topic that has been researched to a limited extinct and is
continued to be a mystery for professionals within the field. To further the controversy as to what is
considered an SLI, many professionals debate whether a person who utilizes sign language can be
diagnosed with this disorder. The disorder becomes even more complex when the question of
assessment of this disorder is evaluated. The complexity of this disorder further fuels the controversy
and frustration of speech language pathologists around the world.
To determine ones opinion regarding SLI s in individuals, whose primary language is sign language,
the basics of this disorder must first be addressed. According to Richard Schwartz, an SLI can be
defined as an impairment of language comprehension, production, or both in the absence of a hearing
impairment, a general developmental delay, any neurological impairment and/or a diagnosis of autism
(2009). With 7% of the American population diagnosed with an SLI, it can be said that a more
accurate prevalence can be identified if professionals identify reliable inclusionary characteristics of
the disorder. if Based on this primary definition, a person who is Deaf and utilizes sign language as a
primary form of communication purely based on his or her hearing impairment. Although many

and budgetary policies. At that time, Togo s economy was prosperous and its macroeconomic
aggregates showed signs of growth.
Afterward in the 1980 90s, exogenous and endogenous factors had caused Togo s economy to
stagnate. Among these factors were the deterioration of the terms of trade, the suspension of
development aid from Bretton Woods Institutions (BWIs), the CFA franc devaluation and the socio

realism was not that important. the girl s form seems to be anatomically incorrect and simplified. The

30. Similarities Between Neorealism And Institutionalism
Institutionalism Institutionalism rejects neorealist claims that the international system is characterized
by anarchy. Rather, it is more accurate to think of international system as made up of rational states
that exhibit growing interdependence. Interdependence creates incentives for cooperation among
states as it offers mutual benefits to all parties engaged. States learn cooperation through reciprocity or
are forced to cooperate for sake of securing public goods. Institutionalists also focus on the free riding
problem, which assumes that nations will tend to cheat and not do their part in producing public
goods. International institutions, such as the United Nations or World Trade Organization, can help in
establishing and sustaining cooperation among states by reducing transaction costs, helping with
monitoring (free riding problem), and offering third party mediation. Neorealism and institutionalism
have their differences, but they share also some common assumptions. Therefore, both perspectives

31. Positive Impact Of Social Media On The Movie Industry
Ever since the successful marketing campaign of The Blair Witch Project , studios have progressively
marketed their films in social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other forms of
websites. This has become more apparent in recent years where films even have their own social
media accounts to share and update fans with anything related to the film itself whether it be
interviews with the cast, trailers, movie posters, or just to simply interact with their fans. Some movie
critics claim that social media is ruining the movie industry because films tend to get too much
coverage which leads to spoilers getting revealed before the film releases. However, I believe that
social media is not only a positive for the movie industry it s an innovation because it s a cheap and
effective way to generate buzz for a film, it allows the fans to feel more connected with the movie they
re planning to see, and individuals can easily voice their opinion about a flick whether it be positive or
negative. Have you ever noticed that people nowadays instinctively go to any social media outlet,
most notably YouTube to check out all the new movie trailers released for upcoming films, if so then

In most events the goal is to introduce a new trait to the plant, which does not occur naturally in the
species, for examples in crops and food. Since from 1960, there are many countries developing using
genetic engineering crops. Genetic engineering crops bring a lot of benefit to society, it can fight with
hunger world, it has better quality and it is good for environment. However, there are also many
negative issue involved in genetic engineering crops such as it can harm the environment, it can be
detrimental to human health and it is not safe.
Using the information collected from different source such as interview with doctor or science teacher,
secondary sources like online article, book, looking different websites and youtube clips, idea and
evidence have been collected and analysed.
1.0 What is genetic engineering?
Genetic engineering is the process of changing the DNA in an organism s genome, it is also known as
genetic modification. The role of genome is to contain the information to build organism and allow it
to grow up (YourGenome, 2014).

38. The Legal Definition Of A Duty Of Care And Negligence
The legal definition of a duty of care and negligence is very complex. It primary concerns itself with
relationship between the defendant and the claimant, it must be established that there is an obligation
upon the defendant to take proper care to avoid causing injury to the claimant in all circumstances.
Determining negligence is not always easy. Before 1932 there was no generalised duty of care in
negligence. The tort did exist but it was only applied in particular situations where the courts had
decided that a duty should be owed, e.g., road accidents, bailments or dangerous goods. Third parties
who suffered as a result of a breach of contract had no remedy, because they were not a part to the
contract and thus excluded by the doctrine of privity, which means that only parties to contracts should
be able to sue to enforce their rights or claim damages.
The idea of a duty of care in the tort of negligence has been developed over the years through judges
making decisions in high profile cases. In a ground breaking case and milestone in Donoghue v
Stevenson [1932] AC 562, an opportunity had arisen for Lord Atkin to formulate the neighbour
principle . By doing so It created the and laid down the foundations of modern law on negligence, by
setting out general principles whereby one person would owe a duty of care to another person.
Facts: May Donoghue, a shop assistant, met a friend at the Well meadow cafe in Paisley, near
Glasgow. Upon arrival Ms Donoghue s friend

39. Mobile Devices And The Technology
Introduction Today mobile devices are multifunctional devices capable of hosting a broad range of
applications for both business and consumer use. Smart phones and tablet allow people to access the
internet for email, instant messaging, text messaging and web browsing, as well as work documents,
contact list and more. Mobile devices are often seen as an extension to your own PC. Work done on
the road, or away from the office can be linked with your PC to reflect changes and new information.
The term mobile device is used to mean a wide range of consumer electronics. Usually mobile devices
are used to describe the devices that can connect to the internet. However some will consider digital
cameras and standard MP3 players as mobile ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
PDAs of today are available in either a stylus or keyboard version called a datapad. Some examples of
PDA devices are Palm Pilot, Revo, Sony Clie, Hewlett Packard Jornado, Casio Cassiopedia, Compaq
iPaq, Toshiba Pocket PC. Smartphones combine both mobile phone and handheld computers into a
single device. Smartphones allow users to store information, install programs, along with using a
mobile phone in one device. For example, a smartphone could be a mobile phone with some PDA
functions integrated into device or vise versa. Tablet PCs are types of notebook computer that have
LCD screen on which you can write using a stylus. The handwriting is digitized and can be converted
to standard text through handwriting recognition, or it can remain as handwritten text. The stylus also
can be used to type on pen based key layout where the lettered keys are arranged differently than a
QWERTY keyboard. Tablet PCs also typically have a keyboard and or a mouse for input. Mobile
operating system is like a computer operating system, a mobile operating system is the software
platform on top of which other program run. When you purchase a mobile device, the manufacturer
will have chosen the operating system for that specific device. The operating system is responsible for
determining the functions and features available on your device, such as thumbwheel, keyboards,
WAP, synchronization with applications, e mail, text messaging and more. The mobile operating
system will also

40. The State Of Utopi A Continuity Of Operations Plan
Introduction. The State of Utopia has determined to develop a Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP)
that incorporates all of the key state governmental functions. The National Guard (NG) being one of
these key organizations has been tasked to develop and coordinate their own plan and ensure it nests
correctly within the state plan. The Adjutant General of Utopia has ordered that the Joint Staff produce
a COOP that relocates the affected units to an alternate site, accounts for and protects all personnel
and equipment, and maintains mission command capabilities. We must maintain the ability to quickly
generate ready forces to safeguard Utopia and protect the nation while adding value to our
communities. The National Guard of Utopia is made up of approximately 2,000 Army NG (ARNG)
members, 1,500 Air NG (ANG) members, and 150 state employees spread across 24 different
campuses statewide. The National Guard also services approximately 4,500 veterans throughout the
state.
The problem. The National Guard has a Pandemic Influenza (PI) Continuity of Operations Plan, but it
does not have a COOP plan that covers an all hazard approach. Even though there is a PI COOP, it
was written in 2009 and at best has been minimally exercised which included one TTX and a drill on a
small portion of the entire plan. Since then there has been little emphasis placed on developing an all
hazards COOP.
The objective. To have an effective all hazards COOP for the Utopia NG that nests both the

41. Robotic Surgery Benefits Springfield Hospital
The world of robotics has dramatically expanded in the past hundred years, leading to increased
explorations into whether robots are largely beneficial or detrimental to society. There are those who
say robotics can be used to achieve the impossible, to perfect existing methods and narrow down the
potential for risk, or to make life easier. On the other hand, there are plenty of cons that are a cause for
concern when it comes to robots that are just now coming to the light, previously never having been
imagined. Both in the medical field and in the commercial delivery business, robotic technology is
typically showcased as being immensely beneficial when utilized; however, as it becomes increasingly
implemented in these fields, it is being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also offers patients greatly improved clinical outcomes with both reduced pain and a quicker
recovery period. Effectively, what Stirling is asserting is that overall, clinical outcomes for patients
have been greatly improved due to reduced pain, less scarring and blood loss, and quicker recovery
times. While Stirling provides ample persuasive evidence for his claim that DRSS is largely
successful, I would include additional substantiation. He left out invaluable statistics that are provided
on DRSS s main website daVinci Surgery, such as the fact that DRSS has been used successfully in
about 1.5 million surgeries. Furthermore, daVinci Surgery informs that their robotic surgical system is
currently the number one choice for women afflicted with gynecologic cancer, and it is also used in 4
out of 5 prostatectomy surgeries. These statistics combined with Stirling s article provide the ultimate
proof that robots have truly become integrated in the medical field with great success. Despite the
tremendous success in implementing robots in the medical field, there is a considerable risk and cause
for concern when it comes to their technical security. Medical devices are consistently released to the
public with little to no security control ingrained in the software. Because of this, they can

describing how to develop, maintain, replace and alter or enhance specific software. A typical software
development life cycle consists of the following stages 1. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is done through Software Requirement Specification (SRS), which consists of all the product
requirements to be designed and developed during the project life cycle.
3. Designing the product architecture: SRS is the reference for product architects to come out with the
best architecture for the product to be developed. Based on the requirements specified in SRS, usually
more than one design approach for the product architecture is proposed and documented in a DDS
Design Document Specification. This DDS is reviewed by all the important stakeholders and based on
various parameters as risk assessment, product robustness, design modularity , budget and time
constraints , the best design approach is selected for the product. A design approach clearly defines all
the architectural modules of the product along with its communication and data flow representation
with the external and third party modules.
4. Developing the product: In this stage of SDLC the actual development starts and the product is
built. The programming code is generated as per DDS during this stage. If the design is performed in a
detailed and organized manner, code generation can be accomplished. Developers have to follow the
coding guidelines defined by their organization and programming tools like compilers, interpreters,
debuggers etc. are used to generate the code. The programming language is chosen with respect to the
type of software being developed.

When the stock market crashed in 1929, the economy plummeted over the next few years, into what
they now call the Great Depression. The Great Depression caused devastating effects to everyone in
America. Many people during the Great Depression lost their jobs, their houses or farms, and
struggled to just put food on the table. In to Kill a Mockingbird, it shows the many effects of the Great
Depression in America.
Even Though the Great Depression affected everybody, it hit farmers the hardest. In To Kill a

44. On How Brazil Positioned Itself as the 7th Largest Economy...
Introduction
Brazil with a population around 201,032,714, is the largest South America s country. Brazil s most
important components of its GDP are service revenues, wide industry sector and its successful
agriculture.
For More than two decades Brazil suffered badly from high inflation, economic decline, domestic and
foreign debt. In 1993 country s Inflation reached 30 percent a month and as a result the country
wouldn t sustain growth. After many unsuccessful plans to control the inflation, finally Real Plan of
Fernando Henrique Cardoso, minister of finance, worked out and brought the inflation down to a
single digit.
Today Brazil with a GDP of $2.533 trillion is the 7th largest economy in the world and it is also
considered as one of the most successful emerging countries. Despite all predictions, thanks to its
huge domestic market and agriculture, the country maintained its growth in 2009 and 2010.
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how Brazil, a country with an extremely high rate of
inflation and low growth, positioned itself as the 7th largest economy of the world and what are the
challenges that the country is facing. First of all the Real Plan of Fernando Henrique Cardoso and how
it helped the country to stabilize its economy and drop down the inflation rate will be discussed.
Secondly how his successor s policies, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva, improved country s economy. At the
end the challenges that Dilma Vana Rousseff, the current president, is facing

45. Discussion Of Trolleyey Experiment
Aim
The aim of this experiment is to set up a simulation of a car accident using trolleys and dummies as
models to create this car simulation.
Colleagues
The following colleagues have helped to develop results for this experiment: Georgia Wright, Nicole
McGrath and Tahlia Faulds.
Hypothesis
PART A
If Trolley A and B collide very hard then the dummies would propel off the trolleys because of the
impact of the collision and force.
PART B
If the trolley was set at far distances on the ramp, then the collision between the car and block will
effect the distance of the dummy that will propel off the trolley.

46. Difference Between Uxi And Ux
Looking for a one liner and easy to understand difference between UI and UX design ? Just so you
know, you have stumbled upon just the right source.
In a layman language, UX is the experience that a person has as they interact with your product and
UI is basically the look and feel of the product.
Ofcourse this is the simplest version of the UX and UI definition and is giving a very limited view of
the subject. And obviously for a detailed version, one will have to dive in deep.
Let s understand it in bits and pieces first.
What is UX?
The technical definition given by Don Norman and Jakob Nielsen says, The first requirement for an
exemplary user experience is to meet the exact needs of the customer, without fuss or bother. Next,
comes simplicity and elegance that produce products that are a joy to own, a joy to use.

What s the difference between UI and UX?
Go through the take of various influencers on the subject.
1. Ken Norton Partner at Google Ventures, Ex Product Manager at Google
Start with a problem we d like to solve. UX design is focused on anything that affects the user s
journey to solve that problem, positive or negative, both on screen and off. UI design is focused on
how the product s surfaces look and function. The user interface is the only piece of that journey. I like
the restaurant analogy I ve heard others use: UI is the table, chair, plate, glass, and utensils. UX is
everything from the food, to the service, parking, lighting, and music.
2. Andy Budd Co founder of Clearleft, Founder of UX London
Common logic would suggest that, if you design the UI, and a person experiences a product through
the UI, that makes you a User Experience Designer. However, this would also imply that designing
your own home makes you an architect, and fixing a tap makes you a

47. Radical Personal Statement
Radical is a word that is generally associated with current abominable global events. But the word
radical, means change relating to or affecting the fundamental nature of something. When I first set
out my college passage, I was pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering in the state of Texas. This
required me to take heavy math and science classes allowing me to develop a unique way of
approaching problems and their respective solutions. When I was a child I never watched cartoons but
instead viewed documentaries, with a majority of them being related to the aerospace industry. I love
anything that flies; especially in space. When I made the choice to pursue aerospace engineering it
was not made lightly. I quickly started engaging in after school ... Show more content on

Economics teaches us that we live in a finite world with finite resources and therefore terraforming
other worlds is a necessity for us. I was contributing my life to something much greater than myself.
Throughout my engineering days, I developed a strong dislike for the world of business; I saw it
corrupt and detrimental to the overall progress of humanity. The concentration of wealth, incentives
for singular/small group behavior, and the probability for decisions to be based on the outcome of
short term gains as opposed to long term environmental gains. In short, I felt that business created a
division amongst people with their own self interest at hand and therefore suppressed the rate of
progression. One day the ground beneath me and the skies above me started to abruptly shift. I started
seeing a place for business in not only my life but the world. It was a process drawn out overtime, but
there was one significant day, in which I knew that to truly change the world you might just have to
change yourself. I was use to observing the physical and natural world around me, but I didn t have
the slightest clue about the hidden sub world of
