WHAT IS AN ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM?
▸An energy storage system, often
abbreviated as ESS, is a device or
group of devices assembled together,
capable of storing energy in order to
supply electrical energy at a later time.

ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM - WHILE IN REMOTE AREAS
▸ The ESS provides the electricity for beekeeper in off-grid areas 5 months/year (April - August).
▸ It keeps track of the truck’s battery voltage. It keeps it balanced & charged. The battery life will be
longer.
▸ The truck’s alternator can charge the solar battery while the engine is turned on, when there isn’t
enough sun or energy in solar batteries. The truck’s engine can have an automated local/
remote starting system controlled by the ESS.
▸ The beekeeper has AC and DC:
▸ AC for the caravan - Air Condition, lights, electric kitchen appliances, TV set, radio and
▸ DC for 24V DC loads - electric honey extractor machine, lights,
▸ DC for 12V loads (to be installed) (4G+ wifi router, CCTV DVR with 4 cameras).

▸ The ESS provides a part of electricity for beekeeper’s household
when the truck is at home - 7 months/year (September - March).
▸ It keeps track of the truck’s battery voltage. It keeps it balanced
& charged. The battery life will be longer.
▸ The truck’s alternator can charge the solar battery while the

▸ The ESS receives the AC IN from the grid, it syncronize with it (voltage
& frequency).
▸ It has a protected AC OUT (1) (like an UPS, for critical loads - alarm, gas
heating system, emergency lights, etc) and an unprotected AC OUT (2).
▸ It will use the grid only:
▸ when the inverter is over-powered and takes from grid just the extra
load or
▸ when there is not enough power in the solar battery.
