This document discusses different types of experimental designs used in Design of Experiments (DoE). It introduces 2k factorial designs which study k factors each with two levels, requiring 2k experiments. It describes how to analyze results using a sign table to determine main and interaction effects. It also discusses extending 2k designs with replications to estimate experimental error, and using fractional factorial designs when full factorial designs require too many experiments. Fractional designs use a subset of factors and levels in a sign table to determine combined effects.
