LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

2. Analysis Of The Mustang
The Mustang (2015) is a Turkish French film directed by Deniz Gamze Erguven. The movie
focuses on how the lives of five orphaned sisters change when they come of age and their struggle
for freedom against their conservative family and culture. Erguven s cinematography in this film
mainly involves hand held shots and this can be evidently seen in the first few shots of the segment
itself (shots 1 4). The use of hand held camera gives a personal touch to the storyline and direction
of the movie. It indicates the personal involvement of the camera and the director in the scene
which in turn means an active involvement of the audience. Erguven has made sure that the
audience are not just stand byers but are living in the world of the sisters. In the shot where the
girls are peeping out of the window (shot 27b) and planning their strategy to escape the prison to
go watch a football match; the camera angle uses Point of View as a narrativestrategy. We, the
audience, share the same perspective at the same time along with the characters. The use of point of
view here makes the audience an active participant in the ongoing action; rooting and building an
escape plan along with them. This scene emphasises the importance of Point of View shot as the
filmrevolves around Lale s (protoganist s) point of view over the events that are happening in her
sister s life. It is she who is the narrator of the movie and is recalling the days

3. Raphael
Raphael, and The Stanza Della Segnatura
Raphael Sanzio was one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael painted
and designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at
such necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and
was the turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short
life, Raphael would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art
during the Italian Renaissance.
Raphael whose full name was Raphael Sanzio, (also known as Raphael Sanzi), was born on April

Madonna of the Goldfinch was made in 1506, and does show a very human Mary. In Italian,
Madonna of the Goldfinch is Madonna del Cardellino. In that painting, Mary is shown holding St.
John, and St. John is holding a tiny bird for Jesus Christ, whom is an infant in that painting.
Leonardo s painting, The Virgin of the Rocks, probably influences Madonna of the Goldfinch for
the faces and figures are very similar. In Madonna of the Goldfinch and a few other paintings
Raphael made, he experimented with Leonardo s immense use of shade, but would always return to
the lighter tones that Perugino had taught him.
In 1508, at the age of 24, Pope Julius II invited Raphael to the Vatican. Raphael was summoned
to the Vatican to paint things like stanzas, and was probably recommended to the pope by
Domato Bramante, an architect. He was immediately well liked by the pope and everyone else at
the Vatican due to his personality; Raphael was a nice, gentle, and sensitive individual. As Giorgio
Vasari once said about Raphael, Raphael was so gentle and so charitable that even animals loved
him, not to speak of men. (Ruskin, p. 132)
In order for Raphael to paint stanzas Pope Julius II ordered some old frescoes to be washed away
from the Vatican walls. Although he made many stanzas, he only painted one stanza: the Stanza
Della Segnatura. In the other stanzas that

Sectionals, a very prestigious swim meet that is hard to swim in. This swim meet takes a whole
season to get ready for, and you have to meet standards for it. To get to Sectionals you have to
have very fast times and make cuts. When I set goals that season this was one of them. Through
the months, prior to this swim meet, I had to train hard for it. It would take a lot of commitment,
sweat, and get the times to be able to smell the chlorine of that pool in Greensboro in March. The
three things I am going to tell you about is how I got there, what happened when I did get there,
and finals after. I was trying to get to sectionals and that was a big goal. After setting my goals, I
had to prepare to practice to get to sectionals. Everyday Carolina Aquatic Team has practice, so I
had to go every day if I wanted to achieve my goal. Carolina Aquatic Team is the team I swim for
it is in Durham, N.C. Some days I got tired of it and did not want to go. I thought about what I
had done for this, and realized I should keep pushing. During the months prior to the swim meet,
I kept working hard even with keeping up my grades in school. . There were eight meets during
the season and I came closer to the Sectional cuts every meet. While some meets would go better
than others, I knew I would get the time I was trying for if I kept trying. After a while I finally got
the times I was hopingfor, and I qualified for nine events. By March, I was readyfor Sectionals and

5. Scalia Originalism
Comparing the two, Dworkin is right to assert his belief that the US Constitution should not be
interpreted to be compatible with the concrete expectations of those long before our time. In
particular areas, the understanding of existing constitutional law goes out farther than the original
understandings of the framers of the Constitution. In many instances, Scalia s originalismwould fail
to fit current practices in society.
In regards to the interpretation of the US Constitution, Scalia s originalism is argued to be different
from other varieties of originalism, such as interpretations that look to the intentions of a statute s
authors to examine the meaning of the statute. According to Scalia, in order to understand content
from the text, jurists must use the judicial tradition and canon when they are faced with an obscure
passage. Addressing statutory interpretation, the jurist has the full body of judicial ... Show more

Not only does Dworkin reject Scalia s account, but advances a fidelity system of interpreting the
text. When comparing semantic intent and expectation intent, both he and Scalia place Scalia s
Constitution jurisprudence in the former. Dworkin also asserts that Scalia is reading into the
Constitution under new text when including the time restriction on the abstract moral principles.
Dworkin further analyzes that a text free of time dating qualifications cannot be interpreted to
include time dating. Therefore, the question asked should not be, what was cruel and unusual
punishment in 1791, but instead, what is cruel and unusual punishment? Dworkin further explains
in his analysis that judges must ask themselves whether punishments that the framers themselves
would not have seen as cruel, and whether discriminations the framers themselves believed to be
consistent with equal citizenship (school segregation as an example) are a denial of equal

The slight possibility of his envisioned romantic relationship with Brett motivates him to

Brett claims, Oh Jake, we could have had such a damned good time together (251) to which Jake

7. The Reflex-Hierarchical Model
1)How do the reflex hierarchical and systems model of motor control differ?
The reflex hierarchical model assumes that the central nervous system (CNS) is organized
hierarchically, with higher centers controlling lower centers. According to this model, movements
are elicited by sensory input or controlled by a central motor program that utilizes open and closed
loop controls. The person utilizes a generalized motor program and adapts it to fit the needs of the
task and environment. Unlike the reflex hierarchical model, the systems model assumes that
movements are organized by functional needs or goals and that movements arise from the
interaction of multiple systems, hence the name systems model. These systems are self organizing

8. Analysis Of The Book The Smartest Kid On Earth By...
Charles Hatfield states in his essay, An Art of Tensions, that comics are marked as being easy to
read, when in fact they are a complex means of communication. Comic readers must call upon
different reading strategies, or interpretive schema, than they would use in their reading of
conventional written text. Chris Ware is often noted as a cartoonist who elevates comics because
of the number of literary awards his work has received. Ware got his start in the 1991 in RAW
Magazine, continuing his work in his series Acme Novelty Library. One of his most notable comics
is Jimmy Corrigan: the Smartest Kid on Earth. Readers learn to appreciate his comics on a higher
level because they cannot rush through his work. It s complexity is displayed through his use of
text, diagrams, and pacing. Readers value Ware s artistry because they have to work for
understanding.
Readers appreciate Chris Ware s work on a higher level because it s complexity causes the reader
to slow down to absorb the information being given to them. This is largely due to the pace of
the comics. Hatfield goes on to state in his essay that the author s task is to give the reader an
imagined sequence and it s the reader s job is to translate the series into a narrative sequence by
achieving closure. For instance the author must develop a rhythm for the reader to follow. So that
when they break the rhythm with a single image to give them a key piece of information it has
impact. When Jimmy is in the airport on

11. A Brief Note On Gait Deviation And Postural Asymmetry
It was alarming that in the year 2012, one out of two adults in the United States was suffered from
musculoskeletal dysfunctions (Lezin and Watkins Castillo, 2016). Gait deviation and postural
asymmetry are constantly observed among people with unilateral lower limb amputation, especially
transfemoral amputation. Studies showed, amputees have 52 71% in getting low back pain and
transfemoral amputees (TFAs) has 50% more chance of getting kneeosteoarthritis (OA) at the intact
leg (Ehde et al., 2001, Kulkarni et al., 1998). It is a major issue needs immediate attention as OA
and low back pain can severely affect a person s quality of life (Woolf and Pfleger, 2003),
especially this group of population who has already owned a primary disability. Due to such, an in
depth review of how does biomechanical disadvantages expose unilateral transfemoral amputation
to these second disabilities and rehabilitation approaches to prevent or delay of the dysfunctions
will be discussed here from my perspective as a physiotherapist. To draw a good rehabilitation
program, assessment on TFAs frequently is done via visual analysis of static and dynamic
alignment. Asymmetry static standing posture and gait deviation is frequently seen among TFAs,

12. The Negative Effects Of Rationalization In Food, Inc.
According to Weber, rationalization refers to the process by which modern society has increasingly
become concerned with efficiency, predictability, calculability, and control (Weber 2009). This
leads to behaviors that are guided by reason and practicality. In the film Food, Inc. (2008), the
owners of the meatcompanies wanted to produce their products in a rational manor. The film
portrays the side of the foodindustry that the companies do not want the consumers to see.
Although this rationalization may seem to be positive, there are many negative effects.
One example of food production in the film is the production of chickens. When interviewing the
owners of the chicken farms, they were extremely restricted on what they could say and show.
The farmers took out thousands of dollars in loans to be able to start their farms. The farmers do
not earn enough to pay off their loans, so they are in a constant debt. On top of this, the farmers
are required by the corporations to constantly update their equipment. If they do not update the
equipment, then they will lose their contracts. This further traps them in a cycle of debt and
dependence on the large corporations. If they do anything to go against the corporations, they can
easily lose their contract and be replaced. These chickens are raised in chicken coups where the
majority of them never see sunlight. They are given hormones to increase the size of the chicken in
less times. Scientist realized that most people prefer

The Worries of a Quiet Majority. (Persuasive Essay Final Draft)
As I walk closer to someone I wish to speak to, the feeling of dread increases at the same rate as
my approach. I start planning exactly what I want to say, with the knowledge that my words will
not come out that way at all. Having reached what is considered the appropriate distance for
conversing, I mentally look over my words one more time before sending them along. As my
fear mounts I draw a breath, let it out, and proceed to breathe again. I tell myself to stop stalling
and as the words rise up, they stop at my throat. I silently yell at myself to get on with it as sweat
starts to break out. The words are in my mouth now, but my mouth does not move. I scream,
internally, to just say it, say it, SAY IT! I ask my friend if I can get a ride home with them, they
say, sure thing . On the outside, I am calm and collected; on the inside, my soul collapses into an
exhausted puddle. This is not the first time it has happened, and it won t be the last, for this is part

Point of View in Charlotte Perkins Gilman s The Yellow Wallpaper
In her short story The Yellow Wallpaper , Charlotte Perkins Gilman uses an interesting means in
which to allow the reader into the mind of the narrator: a woman who conforms under the pressures
of not only society but also her husband. The narrator experiences a mental break after struggling
with the urge to rebel against expectations placed on her to be an ordinary, healthy woman and not
what she really is: a woman suffering postpartum depression at a time when postpartum was not
considered a legitimate condition. Gilman manipulates her usage of the point of view having the
story told through a journal, having the perspective as first person, and having the breakdown of ...

When reading a story, readers can often find themselves relating to the characters and feeling
what they are experiencing. Gilman achieved this connection between reader and narrator
through her use of personal pronouns. The personal pronouns used throughout the story, such as I
, me and we , when opposed to having emotions explained through the distance of a third person
point of view, help the reader understand the struggle the narrator goes through. For instance, in
the sentence, I don t want to go out, and I don t want to have anybody come in, till John comes. I
want to astonish him (Gilman 655), this is the narrator s ultimate form of rebellion; she is locking
her husband out of the room that he has kept her confined to. Gilman puts the narrator s own
thoughts into the readers minds through her use of I , instead of having them watch the narrator
enter this state of rebellion through third person she , so the reader could feel the narrators the
desire to rebel. If in the case where the usage of personal pronouns does not put the reader in the
mental state of the narrator, the second advantage of using first person perspective is that it makes
it seem as if the narrator revealing her personal thoughts to us, which elicits sympathy from the
reader. This revealing of personal thought is seen specifically when the narrator writes, And I ll tell
you why privately В I ve seen her! (Gilman 655). The narrator is referring the shapes she is seeing
moving around in the wallpaper in her room. She has begun to, at this point, see a woman
stooping down and creeping behind the pattern (Gilman 652) but has not mentioned this to her
husband out of fear of causing him grief with her silly fancies (Gilman 652). The woman becomes

16. Attachment Vs. Attachment Theory
This essay will comprise, firstly, of past research looking into what attachment/ attachment theory
is, focusing on Bowlby s (1973) research into why an infant s first attachment is so important.
Followed, by the work of Ainsworth et al (1978) bringing to light the findings from the strange
situation, and how the research can explain mental illness. From this and in depth discussion
looking at how the previously discussed pieces of research have an effect on two particular
disorders, depression and anxiety; while keeping a holistic approach considering other variables
within attachment theorywhich have been linked with the development of these disorders. Through
out, the implications of knowing about this potential link between attachment and mental health
will also be discussed. Finally, a conclusion will be made to whether there is a strong link with
attachment and mental illness.
Attachment theory has proven to be one of the most beneficial frameworks for understanding risk
and protection factors within developmental psychology stated by Bowlby (1973). Bowlby (1982)
suggested that children form mental representations of relationships based on their interactions
with their primary care giver. Which form a cognitive structure of embodying memories based on
these daily interactions with their attachment figure (Bretherton et al, 1990). This is more
commonly known as the internal working model, and has been used to explain how infants used

17. Consumerism Woodhouse Summary
In consumerism Woodhouse starts off by telling his audience what consumerism is. Woodhouse
also talks about the benefits of it such as stimulating the economy and facilitating peoples liberties
to shape their identities and cultures . This is followed by the downside of consumerism that it is a
manipulated and environmentally destructive habit leading to too many units of stuff being
designed, produced, advertised, sold, and discarded . This brief introduction really helps lay the
foundation for the rest of the article and foreshadows what will be talked about.
Woodhouse then goes into the agents . The agents are the ones that are actually responsible for
producing consumerism. These are the chemists that created harmful synthetic pesticide, product
designers that create new and attractive products, and civil engineers that build roads that create
urban sprawl as just a few examples. Without this group of people there would be no production of a

The means is just the technological advancement of today s world. Woodhouse uses examples of
means such as research, marketing, and technology in general. This is a crucial point in
consumerism because without the means then the agents wouldn t have the capability to mass
produce items. This nonhuman technology also gives agents a certain level of calculability, and
predictably, unprecedented to others.
Woodhouse also explains that without sites then businesses and governments wouldn t have
anywhere to test their ideas or develop new ideas. Fast food restaurants, military research and
development, and college universities are all places of research. College universities are a good
example because they get government grant money to test new theories and technologies. If
anything should prove successful during research though it is almost guaranteed that it will be
mass produced and used to help stimulate the economy creating tax

it helps to assess or predict their capabilities in a certain area or to assist in identifying a particular

suspects have different signatures and modus operandi that connect crimeto person, and it would
not be successful without connecting the crime scene to the background of a person through

also thought to be the one behind the death of more than twenty others. The string of cases of the

Williams changed his modus operandi. He went from hiding the bodies to dumping them into the

People are born with the ability to see and hear the everyday activities going on around them but
for some less fortunate, these abilities are not a characteristic they possess. Living as a deaf or

INTRODUCTION
The metaphysical poets have immense power and capability to wonder the reader and cajole
inventive perspective through paradoxical images, subtle argument, innovative syntax and imagery
from art, philosophy and religion implying an extended metaphor known as conceit. The term
metaphysical broadly applied to English and European poets of the seventeenth century was used
by Augustan poets John Dryden and Samuel Johnson to reprove those poets for their unnaturalness
. John Dryden was the first to use the term metaphysical in association with John Donne as he
affects the metaphysics. Goethe, likewise, wrote, the unnatural, that too is natural and metaphysical
poets are studied for their intricacy and originality. It will not be irrelevant and absurd to say,
Metaphysics in poetry is the fruit of the Renaissance tree, becoming over ripe and approaching
putrescence (C. S. Lewis). Scholars described the characteristics of metaphysical poetry from
different point of view. They, in fact, lay out the essence of metaphysical poem, as does R.S. Hillyer

Observation This summer I worked at Camp Cory as a Day Camp Coordinator. This experience
came with many difficulties, one of the positives was working with counselors from other
countries, including Spain, England, Brazil, Colombia, and Scotland. In my opinion, some of
my best co counselors were the international counselors. During the eight weeks I was there, I
worked with four international co counselors to facilitate a day camp group and worked closely
with several others. Working with counselors from other countries, we shared our different
values and learned about each other cultures. Even though we were from different backgrounds,
we grew together, learn to work together despite our differences and became a family together.
There were a few challenges that had to be worked through, one being a language barrier or in
many cases an accent barrier. For some of the international workers, English was not their first
language, or if it was, they had an accent that was difficult to understand. The language and accent
barrier created miscommunication and funny conversations. There are many examples that I

Manual modes also avoid the power requirement of the hydraulic control system, by relying on

Advantages of automatic transmission 1. Automatic transmission is very comfortable as the
driver need not worry about the clutch and there is no need to manually change the gears with
changing speeds. This adds a lots of convenience and driving pleasure in city traffic . 2.It requires

Power as a Tool: Use that Wisely
Introduction
The philosopher Nietzsche has constantly argued about man s will to power. His argument was
reflected in several works and influenced many other writers and philosophers over centuries.
Anything which is a living and not a dying body... will have to be an incarnate will to power, it will
strive to grow, spread, seize, become predominant not from any morality or immorality but because
it is living and because life simply is will to power... Nietzsche states in his book Will to Power .

Someone who wants to exert power to maintain himself as the custodian of this power, no matter
the consequence, and loses self identity and worth over time. A mother, a wife, a father, a husband
or a spouse have the power to influence others and these roles start to define the person himself.
People have roles that define how they view themselves and why they are needed. As a result, if
they exert this power to preserve the role no matter the consequence they end up destroying the
relationships that defines their role from the very start. They start losing their own identity and
focus on the role instead. Thus a mother may become more controlling and a spouse more
jealous. They lose listening skills and empathy over time where trust degenerates. It is important
that people do not become self absorbed in performing their role and the power associated with
it because they start losing their identity and become mere actors of their role rather than living
their lives fully. The crucial element in developing appropriate moral attitudes to the world
around us is sympathy: the ability to recognize, interprets, and understands what another person
is experiencing; the sympathetic person is pleased by the beneficial experiences of others and
feels unease at harmful ones (Beard, 2014). However, some may believe that power granted by
roles and family ties should be exerted in order to have a better structure of family and
relationships, where boundaries are defined and secured. Fairness and rights are less important
than loyalty and patriotism, sacred/profane issues of purity, temperance and obedience to authority
(Fish, 2013). However, power in relationships can be exerted to preserve this relationship but in a
positive way where people with certain roles can optimize their role by being affirmative, listeners
and good communicators. Exerting power to

29. Does skepticism by the auditor would enhance audit quality
Introduction
The importance off skepticism in performing audits has been recognized from the time the very
first auditing standard was implemented (Fullerton and Durtschi, 2012). The recent financial crises
and audit failures have caused the profession to reassess and emphasise the importance of
skepticism during an audit engagement, ensuring that auditors increase their level of skepticism
(Fullerton and Durtschi, 2012). Auditors are now asked to expand their skeptical perspective to the
level used by forensic experts, which according to Fullerton and Durtschi (2012) assumes that
management is dishonest unless there is evidence to disprove this. The following summary

The effectiveness of an audit procedure and its application is enhanced by the application of
professional skepticism and reduces the possibility that the auditor might select an inappropriate
audit procedure, misapply an appropriate audit procedure, or misinterpret the audit results (IAASB
staff question and answers, 2012).
Is audit quality enhanced by a higher level of skepticism
Fullerton and Durtschi, (2012) in their study found that internal auditors should adopt an elevated
attitude of skepticism, as they are the first line of defense for finding fraud within a firm. Internal
auditors, have an intimate knowledge of the workings of a firm, the corporate environment, as well
as employee activities are in a unique position to spot many of the symptoms of fraud to which an
external auditor may not be aware. Thus internal auditors should be more skeptical and use their
knowledge to enhance their fraud detection in firms (Fullerton and Durtschi, 2012). This is one of
the key inputs into the factors that drive audit quality as external auditors rely on inputs from
internal auditors in obtaining the evidence they require to produce the audit report (Fullerton and
Durtschi, 2012).
Internal auditors are as per Fullerton and Durtschi (2012) obligated to be alert to the signs and

30. The Crime Of Uniform Crime
Uniform Crime Report for 2014 states that there are four offenses in the Violent Crime category,
they include Murder, Forcible Rape, Robbery and Aggravated Assault. They only collect their data
from Law Enforcement Agencies from their arrest reports. According to The Uniform Crime
Report, Property Crime includes these four offenses, Burglary, Larceny/ Theft, Motor Vehicle Theft
and Arson. The Uniform CrimeReport reported that there were 402,470 violent crime arrests in
2014 compared to 1,275,315 property crime arrests.
The National Crime Victimization Survey reported that in 2014 there were 5,359,570 victims of
violent crime, and 15,288,470 victims of property crime. The National Crime Victimization Survey
only collects their data of nonfatal, not reported to police and crimes reported to police against
persons 12 or older.
Prevalence of crime is different than victimization because one person could be a victim of an
assault on two different occasions and they would be counted as a victim twice yet only be
considered once for the thought of prevalence. At a rate of about 20 per a thousand people,
individuals had become victims to violent crime in 2014. The prevalence of violent crime in 2014
was around 4 million people victimized at least once, yet there were around 10 million households
that had become a victim of a property crime in 2014.
Crime is spread out fairly equally throughout the United States, the only slight variation would be in
the northeast. People in the

33. The Importance Of Grade Grubbing
Grade grubbing is also referred to as grade lawyering or grade begging but is defined as the act
of a student attempting to ask, persuade or argue with a professor to raise their grade with no
legitimate reason other than their own personal benefit or pride ( Why You Should Not Engage in
Grade Grubbing, n.d.). Gradegrubbers, or students who partake in the action of grade grubbing,
are found in education level and can range from low GPA to high GPA students (Warner, 2014).
Since many people see their transcript as a reflection of their intelligence, the need for higher
grades has become more important to students. I view grade grubbing to be an unacceptable
practice as long as teachers and professors provide a proper, detailed and solid outline for a student
s success.
Grade grubbing is unfair to the entire class and to the instructor. One student should not get a grade
boost for begging and not doing any extra work. It is unfair to the students to have someone who
put in the same amount of work do better than them for no reason. As for the instructor, it is
insulting to have a student not respect them enough to accept their final grade and question their
methods and grade scale without reason. It is against policy and against moral to put an instructor
in this uncomfortable position; matters can get worse if the student is aggressive and threatening
(Magness, 2016). Most instructors create a well planned syllabus for their students and it is

b. Internal audit
Internal environment includes factors that can be controlled by the company such as management,
production, finance, accounting, supply of materials, marketing, public relations (PR), human
resources, information systems, etc. Analyzing these factors helps businesses identify strengths,
weaknesses, then finding out the appropriate strategy. Marketing strategies, marketing systems,
marketing organization, marketing function and marketing productivity are included in the internal
audit.
Marketing strategy audit is about the marketing objectives of Kinh Do and how it relate to overall
objectives. It also concerned about whether Kinh Do has enough resources to achieved these
objectives or not. Marketing systems mentions the procedures for formulating marketing plans and
management control. The structural capability to implement the plan is belonged to marketing
organization. Marketing function is a review of the effectiveness of each element of the mix. The
last area in marketing audit is marketing productivity about how profitable and cost effective the
marketing program is. Kinh Do should use some techniques such as value chain, marketing mix or
SWOT as a tool to audit the internal environment. The value chain will show the marketing

35. Pit And The Pendulum Irony
The Pit and the Pendulum The Pit and the Pendulum , is a short story written by Edgar Allan Poe
in 1842, describing a person in the most dire of situations, awaiting death in a pit. The story is set
during the time of the Spanish Inquisition, where the narrator has been sentenced to live in a pit
and await death. During this time he continually wonders what will happen to him, until looking
up, awaking from a drug induced sleep, he sees a swinging scythe, positioned directly over his
heart, dropping at a crawling rate. The narrator barely escapes the pendulum, then runs and almost
falls into the pit, before being saved by a French General. Although there are both instances of
physical and psychological torture in the story, the psychological... Show more content on

I gasped and struggled at each vibration. I shrunk convulsively at its every sweep. My eyes
followed its outward or upward whirls with the eagerness of the most unmeaning despair; they
closed themselves spasmodically at the descent, although death would have been a relief, oh!
how unspeakable! (Poe 27). All the narrator can do is wait for his death, and his wait allowed
him time to think. His thoughts wandered, beginning to lean on the possibility of escape, and
that frustrated him because he knew hope was lost. Hope was lost, until a last resort plan arrived
in his thoughts; to coat the rope in food so the rats would chew through it, and allow him time to
escape from the swinging scythe of death. His plan prevailed, and he escaped, only to be
confronted by the pit again, by the quickly enclosing room, but this time the narrator was saved by
the French General Lasalle. His torture was over, just as the inquisition was over. Throughout the
Pit and the Pendulum, Poe uses various symbols of psychological torture to create fear and
hopelessness in the narrator, which is achieved through two main symbols of the pit and the

Looking back, I can clearly remember the moment where I fell in love with murder mysteries. I

culprits would entice my young mind. This sense of wonder has stuck with me to this day. The
book The Lovely Bonesby Alice Seboldis a thrilling tale about a young girl getting murdered. The

during another attempted attack. After getting hit the the icicle, he falls into a ravine to his death.

37. Essay about The Shawl
Many times in stories, authors will use the setting to set the stage for the story. The setting is like
the foundation of the story, and without one the story seems merely lost. Quite often the setting
will build up the story and affect the characters, and the characters behaviors. Against the backdrop
of a Holocaust concentration camp, Ozick produces two static characters whose lack of
development throughout the story emphasizes the theme of overwhelming hopelessness. In The
Shawl Rosa, her infant daughter Magda, and her fourteen year old companion Stella are Jews
interned in a concentration camp during World War II. Amazingly the infant Magda has survived

They see how peaceful Magda is with the shawl, and it is killing both of them inside. During the
whole story, these thoughts and emotions are going through both Rosa and Stella s mind. Later
in the story, Stella steals the shawl away from Magda. Magda now starts to behave peculiar like
the two women before. She is no longer silent and mute, she now walks on her own and is crying.
However, later Rosa steals the shawl back from Stella for herself. She could fly, she was only air
into the arena. The sunheat murmured of another life, of butterflies in the summer . As you can see
this shawl was powerful to them, and with it they seemed in their own imaginary world. These
thoughts and feelings are not ones from a healthy human being. It was this time of tribulation and
hard times that made these girls so attached to such a simple item. These characters had nothing,
they were in a concentration camp, and the shawl was the only thing they could rely on, so they
made this shawl their dream. If this story would have had a different, or more peaceful setting, then
these characters may have been able to establish more character traits. However due to the
concentration camp background, these characters had absolutely nothing, but a shawl. Therefore,
the setting was a crucial part of this story. The setting also affected the characters behaviors and
thoughts. There is not a time in

38. Impact Of St Augustine Of Hippo
A very influential and great philosopher and theologian of Late Antiquity, Saint Augustine of Hippo
is the most important of the Latin Church Fathers. His works, especially his Confessions (a self

Europe from the Church as it developed elsewhere. In Ancient Rome, the power of speech was
appropriated from the Greeks and expanded upon and innovated. The classical master of rhetoric
would be the work of St. Augustine which aid in the expansion and spread of Christianity. W. R.

St. Augustine was a major Christian theorist who argued that it would be foolish for truth to take its
stand unarmed against falsehood. Augustine argued that the human mind apprehends universal,

eternal God exists to explain these eternal truths, whereas his thoughts profoundly influenced the
medieval worldview. He defended the use of rhetoric and helped to preserve its study and usage. St.
Augustine believed that human beings communicate through signs and persuading Christians to

St. Augustine believes truth comes from the divine and believes scripture to be divinely inspired,
set down by magnificent men through whom the divine speaks. Augustine s role in the
Christianization of rhetoric reveals clearly that Augustine thought the art of eloquence should be
put into active service, and not rejected out of hand because it is tainted with paganism. He wants

Organizational Psychology
As organizations grow and expand globally, the growing number of business competitors who

organizational success, regardless of size. Organizational Psychologists can offer fresh ideas for

50. Implications Of Plato s Censorship Of Poetry In The Republic
In the Republic, Plato proposes the complete censorship of imitative poetry from his ideal city,
arguing that it corrupts individuals souls and therefore has a negative effect on society, resulting in
injustice within the city. Although seemingly trivial at first, when considered within its proper
context, the censorship of imitative poetry from the city would result in severe consequences.
Throughout this essay I will discuss the political and psychological implications of its censorship,
and will also refute Plato s argument, showing how it lacks soundness: notably, through a
criticism of his epistemology. Regarding the political implications of the censorship of poetry, I
will draw from the ideas of Karl Popper, who argued Plato to be one of the most influential
philosophers on the emergence of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century, laying the foundations for
their very existence (K. Popper, 1945). I will also show how poets themselves have an important
political role within cities, in that they enable the general population to hold the state accountable
for their actions. To discuss the psychological implications of poetry s censorship, I will compare
the contrasting views of Plato and Aristotleregarding its effect on the soul, whereby Aristotle claims
that poetry actually has beneficial, cathartic effects. Following these criticisms, it will become
apparent that Plato s proposed ban of imitative poetry is indefensible.
Firstly, to fully understand Plato s proposal

51. Evolutionary Explanation of Gender Development Essay
Outline and evaluate the evolutionary explanation of gender development.
Gender refers to the concepts o masculine and feminine whereas sex is the biological fact of being
a male or female. According to the evolutionary approach, gender differences are neither deliberate
nor conscious; they exist because they enhanced or helped men and women perform particular
types of roles in the past. Therefore, the role differences we observe are more a product of our
biological inheritance than acquired through socialisation.
Part of the evolutionary explanation is Trivers parental investment theory which argues that the
origin of behavioural differences between men and women lies in the different ways of achieving
reproductive success. Trivers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although some evidence is indisputable, such as women becoming pregnant, evolutionary
psychologists need to update their theories to align with recent findings.
Baron and Cohen (2002) suggested, in their E S theory, that male hunters gained an evolutionary
advantage systematising over women who were much more empathetic. With their theory they
suggested that during stress responses, men tend to be adapted for flight or fight, whereas females
are not. Shields (1975) suggested that men and women evolved to have roles that complemented
each other, in order for both genders to survive. This is supported by Ennis et al 2001) who found
that men show a better fight or flight response, as during exams men s cortisol levels are higher
than women s during the same time period. However, evolutionary explanations may partially
explain why gender roles have developed but the fact that gender roles can differ globally would
imply social factors are also involved, so the evolutionary explanations cannot fully explain gender
roles.
Another evolutionary explanation of gender development is mate choice, which suggests that
gender role behaviours are related to reproductive strategies. It is thought that men will look for
women who are young whereas women are usually more interested in the resources of a mate. This
can be explained from an evolutionary perspective as mating with a physically attractive woman

52. Ancient Roman Entertainment Essay
Citizens in ancient Rome held their entertainment close. Entertainment was free, and appealed to all
social classes, from slaves to the emperor. Two forms of entertainment are chariot racing and
gladiator fights. These were two of the more popular forms of entertainment available to the average
Roman citizens.
The first form of entertainment I am going to talk about is chariot racing. Chariot racing was the
most popular form of entertainment. It appealed to all social classes, from the lowly slaves to the
senators and the emperor. Juvenal s famous saying panem et circenses has become a sign of
entertainment appeasing people throughout the ages. Although there was no public betting one the
races, there was a large amount of private betting that went on and the chance of earning money
probably attracted even more popularity to the races. The races were so popular that many
household items were decorated with symbols from the racing.
The racers were divided into four different teams, called factions (factiones). These were coloured
and their names came from the colours themselves: the Greens, the Reds, the Blues and the Whites.
The green and blue factions were the most powerful, and later on in the empire, they absorbed the
other two into their ranks. The factions were not just racing teams, they also had political influence.
Most Roman citizens became racing fanatics, supporting one of the factions. Some citizens even
resorted to magic to foul their opponents, showed

Saudi Arabia, which is where the religion was founded, and he died in the year 632 A.D. Islamwas
founded in the beginning of the seventh century. Like stated earlier, Muslims believe in one
God. They also believe in the angels, who are respected creatures, they believe in God s revealed
books, including the Quran, they believe in the Prophets and Messengers of God, where
Muhammad was the last Prophet sent by God, they believe in the Day of Judgement, which is
when everybody will be resurrected based on their beliefs and achievements, and they believe in Al
Qadar, where God gives people free will.
Practicing and worshipping in this religion, has some rules, or standard guidelines, for everyday
lifes. These are called the Five Pillars of Faith. These include, Shahadah, Salah, Zakah, Sawm, and
Hajj. To start off with, Shahadah is the assertion of belief. It s when the people of the Islamic
religion indicate that there is only one God, and that Muhammad is his prophet. Next, Salah is the
