1. Economic Crisis Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of economic crises can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a
comprehensive understanding of economic principles, historical context, and current global
affairs. The complexity of the subject demands in-depth research to analyze the causes,
manifestations, and impacts of economic crises. This involves delving into economic theories,
studying past crises to draw parallels, and examining the intricate web of factors that contribute
to such events.
One of the challenges lies in presenting a balanced perspective. Economic crises are multifaceted
phenomena with various contributing factors, and it's crucial to avoid oversimplification or the
tendency to attribute the entire crisis to a single cause. Striking the right balance between
providing a nuanced analysis and maintaining clarity for the reader requires skillful navigation
through vast amounts of information.
Moreover, conveying the severity of economic crises while maintaining a tone that engages and
informs the reader is another hurdle. It's essential to avoid excessive jargon and complex
terminology that might alienate a broader audience. At the same time, the essay must capture the
gravity of the economic issues discussed and foster a sense of urgency for readers to
comprehend the significance of the crisis.
Additionally, staying updated with the latest economic developments is imperative. Economic
conditions are dynamic, and new events can reshape the landscape rapidly. Therefore, keeping
the essay relevant and timely involves continuous monitoring of economic indicators, policy
changes, and global events.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the economic crisis demands a meticulous approach, requiring
a deep dive into economic theories, historical examples, and current affairs. It necessitates the
ability to present a nuanced perspective, maintain a balance between complexity and clarity, and
stay abreast of the ever-changing economic landscape. While it may be challenging, the process
of researching and crafting such an essay is essential for fostering a comprehensive
understanding of economic crises.

The usage of celebrities by the Indian advertising agencies has experienced a
phenomenal increase in the last five years. Effective communication between the
marketer and the consumers is the need of the hour and celebrity endorsement is a
strategy that is perceived as making full use of this opportunity. Most of the countries

REVIEW OF LITERATURE
According to McCracken (1989), a celebrity could be defined as,
any individual who enjoys public recognition and who uses this recognition when
they appear in the advertisement in front of the consumers.
There are multiple roles that a celebrity spokesperson may play (and the roles may
not be mutually exclusive)
(Kamen, Azhari and Kragh, 1975) in an advertisement such as that of a
spokesperson, endorser, provider of a testimonial, or an actor. A spokesperson
represents the company or brand like a salesman, while an endorser is associated
with the brand even though he may not be an expert in the product category of the
brand. In case of testimonials, the superiority of the product is attested by an
individual or the personal experience of the celebrity. Lastly, the celebrity actor is
only a character in a dramatic presentation in the ad.
McCracken (1989) suggested four different modes of celebrity endorsers namely,
Explicit mode, Implicit mode,
Imperative mode, and the Co present mode. In the explicit mode, the celebrity
announces the endorsement of a product, while in the implicit mode, the celebrity
uses verbal or physical communication for the product. In the imperative mode, the
celebrity suggests the audience to use the endorsed product while the celebrity only
appears with the product in the co present mode.

Therefore, natural gas has a tremendous potential to be used in CI engines
effectively based on the RCCI concept. Operating a CI engine in the RCCI mode
has become possible as the result of new fuel system technology and engine controls.
The high octane number fuel used in the literature is often gasoline or ethanol. The
U.S. Department of Energy has devoted significant resources to its national
laboratories to investigate the practical applications of port injection gasoline with
direct injection diesel fuel, as seen in recent publications from Oak Ridge16,25,
Sandia39, and Argonne National Labs17. Because of the lean gasoline air mixture in
the CI engine cylinder, its lower combustion temperature can reduce engine heat loss,
increase fuel efficiency (up to в€
ј45%), and decrease exhaust pollution. European
institutions are also actively exploring gasoline as a CI engine fuel65. Of the
passenger cars in Europe, 45% use CI engines due to the efficiency advantage. On the
basis of this dual fuel concept, various fuel injection schemes and piston geometries
have been tested74. One study even used a single fuel stock, gasoline, for both port
injection and direct injection but added a cetane improver, 2 ethylhexyl nitrate
(EHN), to the direct injection fuel stream to enable autoignition31. These successes
suggest that it would of great interest to investigate such dual fuel operations using
two fuels with vastly different reactivity. However, existing studies are predominantly
4. Comparing Apple Macintosh Computers to Microsoft
Windows PCs
Today s world is filled with technology that is constantly changing and evolving.
For most children born in the twenty first century, it is hard to imagine living in a
world that does not run on computers or any other type of electronic device. From
governments, to businesses, to schools, to the casual at home user: computers are
used by the majority of people living in developed countries on a day to day basis.
One of the largest debates in technology is the famous ever lasting battle between
Apple Macintoshcomputers and Microsoft WindowsPCs (personal computers). Most
common consumers who aren t sure of what kind of computer they should invest in
(Mac or PC) often raise one general question: Which is truly better? While both
companies have dedicated fans that would do anything to protect their favorite
computer from ridicule, each company has a set of pros and cons that could help an
individual make up his or her mind on what computer is right for them. Both brands
can be compared to one another by breaking them down into three technological
categories: build quality, hardware, and software.
One of the main topics that PC users will use to argue against Macs is that they are
overpriced and underpowered. In other words, users could buy an apple computer
for two thousand dollars, but also buy a PC at equal quality valued at around seven
hundred to a thousand dollars. What these users do not take into consideration is the
superior build quality of an apple computer
5. The Element Of Light And Shadow
This freestanding, subtractive sculpture depicts a young mother comfortably
kneeling and cradling her breastfeeding baby. The young mother s features are very
delicate and fair; her gaze falls lovingly upon the infant who gazes back at her. Both
figures are unclothed with minimal space between them. The scale is similar to that
of a real mother and baby, but perhaps a little bit smaller. The sculptureis carved from
a pure white piece of marble without natural flecks of color or coloring additions. The
element of light and shadow helps to make the figures appear very realistic. For
instance, gradual, minute depressions made in the sculpture are affected by shadow
and suggest anatomical structure beneath the figures skin. The... Show more content

Indeed, using perfectly white marble reflects the innocence and purity possessed
by the mother and baby. This quality is also maintained by the texture; there are no
impurities or roughness to be found. In addition to reflecting purity, the smooth
texture provides the work with an aura of calming softness that helps to highlight
the serenity of the scene. As mentioned in the description, the use of line is also
very delicate. The artist might have made them sharp and angular, but instead, he
used lines that are curved, gradual, and smooth. This contributes to the loving,
gentle quality of the artwork. Another way that the artist has achieved a peaceful
scene is by limiting the principle of movement. One can imagine the baby
wiggling its toes or the young mother slightly readjusting her position, but that is
the extent of the movement suggested. As has been described, the harmonious
result of the art elements is a pure, peaceful, and tender scene. As a young girl, I
remember going to the Springville Museum of Art on a field trip and seeing this
work of art. At first, I was a bit shocked due to the mother s lack of clothing;
however, I noticed that her nakedness was not portrayed in a disrespectful way.
Despite being a bit disturbed, I was able to recognize something pure and genuinely
sweet about the statue. As I have revisited this artwork, I ve become less troubled by
it and more aware of its tender and even divine
6. Irish In America Analysis
Discovering the metaphorical pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was a long and
arduous journey for Irish immigrants. The journey was full of unexpected obstacle
to overcome on the path to freedom in the land of opportunity known as America.
Of factors leading the Irish to emigrate from Ireland to America in between 1700
1800, the most significant were due to political and economic misfortunes suffered
by Irish residents who fell victim to English rule. The film, The Irish in America
notes 1800 as being the year that Irish parliament was abolished by an act that place
Irelandunder the rule of English governing. However, as early as the 1700s, were

7. The Representation of Children in the Media Essay
The Representation of Children in the Media
I am writing about how children are represented in the media, after a group
investigation carried out to see how they are portrayed in different papers; local
newspapers, tabloids and broadsheets. We were looking to see if newspapers showed
positive or negative images of children and how they portrayed them in general.
In local papers there are usually articles of local news from around the area, items
for sale and advertisements. Local papers highlight local stories and issues. Local
papers usually have the scores or information about local teams in the sport section.
The local papers are distributed to a specific area and usually contain news about ...

You often get emotional views of people s life, if sometimes good or bad has
happened to a famous person. You also get a biography or diary about someone s
life and how they lived, mostly successful people or important people who have died.
Tabloids do tend to run sensational emotional stories.
Broadsheets are similar to tabloids, but most of the broadsheets present a more
balanced view of the news. They fund to be not as sensational and more factual and
informative.
Local papers have more pictures then any other kind of paper, they have more
pictures of children, and the readers are able to see children of their own or
children that they know of. In the most positive pictures you see children achieving
or being brilliant. In some pictures you will see children as victims, but often they
will have happy endings. They also show brave little angels that have helped their
community and someone shown as accessories to local heroes or famous people e.g.
David Beckham and his son s Brooklyn and Romeo.
Tabloids often don t have many pictures of children, and it is unusual to see a child
achieving something in a tabloid. The international stories are often extreme and
very emotive. The children are either devils or angels. Tabloids are biased and

Williams Sonoma (WSM) was a specialty retailer of products for the home. The
company s products were sold through two channels: the retail channel and the direct
to customer channel. The retail segment comprised four retail concepts: Williams
Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, and Hold Everything. The direct to
customer segment sold though eight retail catalogs: Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn,
Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Bed + Bath, PB Teen, Hold Everything, West Elm,

In 2001, the company added a Pottery Barn Kids web site, and a Pottery Barn online
gift and bridal registry, and it opened five new retail stores in Toronto, Ontario.
In line with its related diversification growth strategy, Williams Sonoma tested a new
catalog in summer 2002, under the West Elm brand. This new brand targeted young,
design conscious customers seeking to furnish first homes/apartments/lofts with
quality furniture and accessories at affordable price points. West Elm product
categories included furniture, decorative accessories, and an extensive textiles
collection. In 2003, Williams Sonoma expanded its catalog mailings for West Elm,
added a web site, and opened its first retail store.
Williams Sonoma launched PB Teen with a catalog and web site in late April 2003.
PB Teen was intended to fill the market space between Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn
Kids with hip, exclusively designed furniture, rugs, lighting, bedding, and accessories
promoted with its catalog, interactive web site, special sales campaigns, and contests.
The company s newest concept, Williams Sonoma Home, was introduced in third
quarter 2004 to tap into what company Chairman William H. Lester noted had been
an empty space between the Pottery Barn demographic and designer home
furnishings. Lester hoped to position this brand extension as an upscale furniture
concept that would be more classic and less fashion forward than Pottery
9. Russian Influence On The Caucasuss
Perhaps the biggest influencer of the region is Russia. Russian influence in the
Caucasus was due to Russia moving their foreign policy closer to the Middle East.
In 1795, the Iranian Shah Mohammad Khan Qajar invaded Georgia and essentially
captured the city of Tiflis. He afterwards sacked the city to the ground. For this
sacking of a city in Georgia, the Russian didn t even bother to help the Georgians.
For Georgians, this was a sign of the need for tsarist protection, which would
eventually come from Russia. Tsar Alexander I told his ministers that Russia need to
conquer areas around the Caucasus region (De Waal, 39). However, it would only be
long after Tsar Alexander that these territories would be part of the Russian Empire.
In one last push, the Persian Empire launched a new war in the Caucasus. At first,
the Persians had success in present day Azerbaijan, but eventually the Russians came
and they crushed the Persians out of the Caucasus. In the Treaty of Turkmenchai of
1828, the Persian were forced to let the Russians control the Caucasus region
including Armenia (De Waal, 40). Similar to the Persian, the Turks also failed in the
conquest of the Caucasus and were forced to sign a treaty... Show more content on

It is believed that about one million Armenians died in the catastrophic event.
Afterwards, Armenia became a country of people that were affect of the event that
took place. For a brief period of time, Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan belonged to
a region known as the Transcaucasian Federation. It only lasted a month until it was
taken over by the Bolsheviks. The reason of why the Bolsheviks were so successful
of taking this region is that many Caucasians were part of the Bolshevik movement.
So, it just was easy for Bolsheviks to take this region, because of the amount of
support that they already had in the region. Eventually, this would lead to the Soviet
rule of the Caucasus
10. The Waste Of Municipal Solid Waste
Purpose
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle has been the mantra of administrations and
environmentalists since the early 1970 s and is as relevant now as it was then.
Household recycling behaviors have become a common strategy for the diversion of
municipal solid waste (MSW) from landfills and energy recovery plants (ERP).
Although many, if not most, residences engage in at least some recycling behaviors
significant amounts of trash reaching landfills and ERPs could have been
recycled. There exists a wealth of research regarding how and why the populace
engages in recycling and what potential barriers result in a high percentage of
recyclables reaching landfills and ERPs. It is the position of the author that one
significant barrier is a lack of current educational initiatives presented to household
recyclers at regular intervals. For example, the recycling industry recently gained
the ability to facilitate used pizza boxes. A quick anecdotal sample of my immediate
neighbors found that they were still discarding these items with their MSW. The
ambition of this research is to identify practical, cost effective, methods to keep
residential recyclers informed of current recycling abilities. The research seeks to
investigate the result of directly applying informational placards on residential
recycling. Will the increased and readily available information and instructions lead
to higher recycling rates and greater diversion of recyclables from MSW? By
applying the treatment to

12. Speech On Grief And Grief
I know think are confusing right now Hamlet and your father just died but before
you do anything, I want to explain why your feeling what your feeling. Hamlet, it s
tough to tell what you re suffering from but presumably grief or grieving. The
reason it is tough to tell is that it is possible you could also have a mental condition
called clinical depression. The reason however it is more likely grieving and not
depression is because before your father died you re but after your father died, your
uncle Claudius said you had change of heart , which is indicative of the fact that
before your father died you were not as moody and depressed. Griefessentially means
that you feel as if darkness and gloominess, a deep sorrow especially caused by
death. Some of the symptoms of the grief include mood swings, dismal and
depressive thoughts and social isolation and all of which you illustrate throughout
your story. Your grief has been compounded and building up since your fathers
death. Your uncle says that it is weak and unmanly to wallow in your grief for so
long, and your mother is not sympathetic of your grief and that you should his your
signs of mourning.
So what should you do? Well for starters an excellent idea would be to move away
from the thing that is the root or source of your grief, which, would be your father
and your family. Claudia does not want you to express your grief because he views
them as inappropriate and your mother does not want you to make a scene, so by
suppressing your emotions you are making it worse. I know that your mother does
not want you to leave to Wittenberg because she believes you will adjust in time,
but you are not going to adjust if the issue is shoved in your face every day. The
next things after that would be being allowed to express your feelings and be
melancholy and gloomy. You will probably move through the 5 stages of grief:

15. Wedding Traditions Of Islam, Hinduism And Christianity
For this final project, I chose to research and educate myself on the concept of
marriage in addition to wedding traditions in Islam, Hinduism and Christianity. I
chose Islam for the reason that it is the religion that I am the most familiar with,
Hinduism because I have heard so much about wedding ceremonies from my friends
and it had interested me, and finally Christianity because I wanted to build my
knowledge of it. This assignment has demonstrated that marriagein all three of these
religions is a critical institution that is carried with the utmost respect and sacredness
due to hundreds of years of maintaining the importance. I have learned many things
from this research assignment that have surprised me in such positive ways and have
definitely added on to my knowledge of that religion. For this assignment, I have put
an emphasis on studying the concept of divorce, views of marriage in the eyes of the
law, the traditions of the sermon and wedding ceremony and roles of the husband and
wife within that partnership.
Islam is one of the most popular religions in the world with an estimated 2 Billion

.1Explain the characteristics, requirements and purposes of different types of events.
Events are a good way of making a lot of people aware of a particular subject matter.
These can be formal or informal and require a large amount of preparation.
Generally events are held over a longer period of time than a meeting and include a
larger audience. They can be held at various venues such as a marquee, a hotel
with conference facilities or in the open air. They can involve members of your

21. Marco Polo Journey
Since his death, he has received the recognition that failed to come his way during his
lifetime.
What he claimed to have seen has been verified by researchers, academics and other

Marco s story has inspired countless other adventurers to set off and see the world.
Two centuries after Marco s passing, Christopher Columbus set off across the
Atlantic in hopes of finding a new route to the Orient, with him was a copy of Marco
Polo s book.
He remained in Venice until his death in 1324, aged 70.
At his deathbed, he left the famous epitaph for the world: I have only told the half of

After 17 years in Khan s court, the Polos decided it was time to return to Venice.
At the end of year 1271, receiving letters and gifts for the Great Khan from the new

They took with them 17 year old Marco Polo and two friars. The two friars hastily

22. Nursing Shortage In Health Care Case Study
1.According to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) we are
currently experiencing a nursing shortage. It stated that this nursing shortage is
currently different than the past shortages. The present nursing shortage is due to
fewer nurses entering the workforce due to unacceptable conditions, and the ones
that do enter the workforce are not prepared to provide patient care in a changing
health care environment. One would think, if they graduated from a nursing
program, and passed the NCLEX licensure exam, how is one not prepared to
provide excellent patient care? I believe it s not that the individual is not qualified
for the job, they may be lazy or even overwhelmed with too much work, due to the
shortage. With there being
23. Silas Deane Research Paper
History is often said to be what has happened in the past, and a historian s job is to
bring that information back, without distorting it. This undistorted passing of
history is often times may not always be achieved, and the story of the death of
Silas Deane is a great example of that The formerly known story was one of rags to
riches, and back to rags. He was born to a humble blacksmith, who had high
aspirations for his son, and sent him off to Yale, where he studied law. He opened
his own practice and was very successful. Not satisfied, he entered into the world of
politics, working his way up the ladder, eventually becoming a delegate to the first
and second Continental Congresses, drawing the attention of leaders. He was then
sent to France as the American representative of the colonies, later joined by
Benjamin Franklin and Arthur Lee. He was described as ambitious and someone to
be watched, even accused of using his position in government for personal profit.
Further controversy forced him out of France, America, and England, ending up in
Flanders. He lived there until the controversy died down some and then moved to
England, where he lived in obscurity, resorting to drinking, and living in the house of
a prostitute. His one loyal friend, Edward Bancroft, provided financial support for
him. When he thought the coast was clear to move back, he set sail for America
aboard the Boston Packet out of London. On its way, a storm came, blowing out both

24. Economics and the Problem of Utility Maximization
Within the field of economics, the utility maximization problem represents an
attempt to quantify the rationale used when consumers attempt to maximize the
satisfaction, or utility, they derive from the purchase of goods. With the typical
predetermined budgetary restriction imposed on the process, consumers must
balance their own limited funds against their desire to obtain certain items. This
means that the eventual level of utility received from all potential affordable
packages, and thus the consumer s optimal choices, can be expressed via the
equation x(p, w), where p is equal to a good s price and w is equal to the consumer
s wealth. The price of any given product must be considered during any attempt to
answer the utility maximization problem, because if , then u must be continuous and
no goods can be obtained free of charge (McEachern, 2010). In other words, because
the two rules dictating the boundaries of utility maximization within a two good
model clearly state that the marginal utilities per dollar must be equal and the
consumer s entire budget must be exhausted, the inclusion of goods which can be
obtained free of charge skews any conclusions regarding the consumer s eventual
utility. A good which costs nothing will always provide more immediate happiness
than one which costs money, and this fact prohibits economists from effectively
modeling any two good comparisons between free and for cost items. As is typically
the case for economics, however, simple

The scene demands darker lighting and many angles. The area needs to be as three
dimensional as the characters who inhabit it. As is, we have three dimensional
characters in a one dimensional space. There is no depth to their world. The

And this analysis doesn t even address the concept of what the backstage world is.
How does it fit into the rest of the show? How why are audiences capable of seeing it?

That s the same mediocre standard that lets people think this is all fake. The
backstage area of a WWE event, in real life, is a fascinating place. The characters

something no other sport and no other television show can. You get to see the journey

Viewers still don t have access to a fictional version of that world behind the curtain.
Backstage segments continue to reduce that fascinating space to a single dimension.

fundamental approach of its visual narrative. But that s not as severe of a creative

27. U.s. Investment Abroad And Foreign Direct Investment
Abstract
With recent technology advancements and globalization process, there exists more
cases of domestic capital invested into foreign domains to exploit foreign markets.
This paper aims to study the effect of U.S. direct investment abroad, and foreign
direct investment (FDI) in the U.S. on the unemployment rate in U.S. A dummy
variable will be tailored to explain the impact of the 2008 financial crisis and its spill
over effect in to 2009, in relation to the overall quarterly time series data from 1994 to
2014. Multiple linear regression results confirm while both foreign direct investments
and U.S. investments abroad are critical components in the model, FDI is
comparatively more important determining unemployment rate.
Introduction
The Globalization process have provided many benefits for both developed countries
and developing countries. With recent breakdowns of economic barriers for countries
to have easy access of foreign investment capital, developed countries such as the U.S.
have the opportunity to explore immature markets, while developing countries will
receive the financial resources, advanced technology, and managerial skills necessary
for a faster pace of economic development. Foreign direct investment by multinational
corporations is the action of obtaining controlling equity share of a firm in a foreign
country. There has been many discussions about the role of FDI in affecting a
country s unemployment rate and economic growth. Of which many believed
28. Biome Injustices In Ecological Research
Across the globe, thousands of exotic plant species have been introduced to native
ecosystems worldwide, both intentionally and unintentionally. Today, the ecology
and evolutionary potential of alien species are the subjects of several
environmental managers. The effects of biological invasions on native
communities and ecosystems are a major priority in ecology (Wardle et al. 2011,
Simberlo et al. 2012). Due to their faster growth, several studies use alien species to
restore areas that have been heavily degraded (Ewel Putz 2004). Many studies show
that several herbivores were found to use alien plants, but their impact was small on
alien than on native plants. There are many types of interactions between animaland

Upon arrival at a food source, many of the same chemicals that served as the
attractants also stimulate feeding (Thomas et al. 1986), although food arousal
may be short lived (Tuersley 1989). Taylor (1902 1907) learned that most slugs are
omnivorous, and described how A. ater rejected 39 out of 197 foods. Fromming
(1954) provided a great deal of information about the range of plants consumed by
slugs and their preferences and described A. ater as a polyphagous species.
However, subsequent investigations have shown that slugs are capable of a high
degree of selection in their feeding behavior and could potentially have great
effects on seedling recruitment of some species (Buschmann et al. 2005; Strauss et
al. 2009, Hanley, Fenner and Edwards 1995; Hulme 1996; Edwards and Crawley
1999; Wilby and Brown 2001; Maze 2009; Scheidel and Bruelheide 2005). Rathcke
(1985) suggests that slugs are exerting strong selective pressure on the morphology,
phenology, and defenses of native plants. Seedlings are more palatable than adult
plants, as they contain lower concentration of secondary metabolites (Hanley et al.
1995; Fenner et al. 1999) and morphological factors influence feeding behaviour, with
epidermal cell wall thickness and hairiness related to palatability (Scheidel and
Bruelheide 1999). The effect of secondary plant metabolites is in this connection

29. The Theme Of Romance And Romance In Romeo And Juliet
Romance and tragedy have captivated readers throughout the ages. These story
elements have gripped us, appealing to deep instincts and emotions. Romance
could be defined as a relationship between two lovers, in which a passionate
emotional attachment or involvement are there between both individuals.
Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet has been one of the major plays that explored love and
romance. Post modern novels, The Hunger Games written by Suzanne Collins bring
romance and love with an action packed plot. Collins s Hunger Games clearly drew
her ideas from Shakespeare s Romeo Juliet, since the Hunger Games showed a lot of
enduring themes in which Romeo Juliet has these kinds of themes. Shakespeare
himself borrowed themes from Greek tragedies and traditions (Schwartz). In fact

Obviously Romeo Juliet has the sense of romance throughout the story and such
occurrence really shows in parts where Romeo started to take notice on Juliet and
sudden commotion of feelings in both individuals propels the plot. Romance is
very common in this novel, for instance in the novel, Juliet would do anything to
be with Romeo again. I gave thee mine before thou dids request it, And yet I would
it were to given again (Shakespeare). These words that Juliet spoke shows how
indeed Juliet would do anything until she pledges her love even before Romeo
asked her. She wouldn t want to disappoint Romeo by not trying to marry Paris.
Paris also admires and loves Juliet; this really pushes the idea of love and romantic
relationships in the characters. The plot of this novel is really a romantic tragedy
since at the end both lovers died because they desperately wanted to be together,
however this would be impossible due to the feud. Basically the family feud is
responsible for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. Had there not been a family
feud, there would have been no need for Romeo and Juliet to hide their
30. President John F. Kennedy And The Equal Pay Act (EPA)
President John F. Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act (EPA) into law on June 10,
1963. The act aimed towards stopping wage inequality through not only races but
also genders within the United States. The income difference between a male and
a female was substantial. The Equal Pay Act was not the first act to attempt to be
passed. In 1942, twenty years earlier Congresswoman Winifred C. Stanley
introduced the Prohibiting Discrimination in Pay on Account of Sex Act. This act
was not passed. The equal pay for equal work is an idea that people that do the
same work, as others will be compensated in the same way. The act was established
because women were receiving less pay than men were for the same exact job. After

The EPA equal pay for equal work is not one hundred percent effective in 2004. In

your pay is even less. As per bat women on TV, same job, same employer, means

The Disgusting Reason Why You Should Not Buy Juice Boxes
Some people discovered a green slime in the straw of their juice box. The green
slime was also found on the edges of the juice box when the people cut open the
box. The juice box was not expired. The green slime can be found in many boxes of
juice especially in children juice boxes since these juices don t contain
preservatives. The slime is created by the fermentation of sugars when air leaks into
the box. The puncture will not cause leaking of the juice, since it is very small, but
the air can get inside of the juice easily. Although this slime is not dangerous, it is
disgusting. Moreover, these juices are not healthy because they contain a lot of sugar

The Creation of Israel Israel was not created in order to disappear Israel will
endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither
be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of
democracy and it honors the sword of freedom. These are John F. Kennedy s thoughts
and opinions upon the creation of Israel. In the time leading up to the creation of
Israel, the Jews had endured much suffering through the terrible acts of the
Holocaust. Jews have proven to rise from the despair and the suffering that they had
to endure and they ultimately created something stupendous: their own country.
There have been many obstacles in the way for the Jews to do this, the biggest
being the Arab Palestinians. The Arab Palestinians objected to the Arab Jews
forming a nation and if it were not for the help of the United States, Israel would
have never been able to overrule the power of the Arab Palestinians and take over the
land for themselves. With tremendous support from the United States, the creation of
Israel exemplifies the joyous and magnificent accomplishment that not only Arab
Jews accomplished, but all Jews. In the time leading up to the creation of Israel, the
Jews were motivated to establish their own country in the territory of Palestine with
the support of other countries around the world. There were many contributions that

34. A Theory Of Ontology And A Position On The Problem Of...
To understanding how we use language to describe the world, we need theories to
describe and explain our reality. The title quote is taken from Willard Van Orman
Quine s, On What There Is , in which he presents a theory of ontology and a position
on the problem of universals. The problem of universals questions the existence of
universals. Universals are properties and relations which are held in common by
shared qualities. In comparison, particulars are concrete entities. The debate is
centred around two opposing viewpoints nominalist and realists. Realists believe in
universals, nominalists do not. While realists endorse both universals and particulars,
nominalists reject the notion of universals and only accept the existence of
particulars. Consequently, there is disagreement among philosophers whether
universals exist. Discussion of the titled quote follows an examination of the One
Over Many argument which leads to the problem of universals. In this essay, I show
that I agree with the title statement and will argue in favour of a nominalist account
of universals. I will focus primarily on Quine s argument for nominalist semantics.
This argument will be presented by questioning the universalredness and the role of
meanings. In examining arguments made by Armstrong and subsequently presenting
a response to these critiques via the analysis of Devitt, I will also discuss the infinite
regress problem and the validity of the One Over Many argument. My conclusion

35. Negative Effects Of Violence In Hockey
Violence has always been an intrinsic element in contributing to the popularity of
men s professional hockey. However, violence in the game of hockey does not stem
from the individual themselves but from the influence of society. Throughout this
paper I argue that although violence in men s hockey appears to be systemic to the
players of the game, societal genderstereotypes and spectator expectations also
contribute towards inciting violencein the sport. From various scholarly articles, I
reveal that societal standards placed upon men in the professional hockey league
obligates them to maintain an image of masculinity, inevitably leading towards
violence on the rink. In addition, spectators generate violence in the sport through
placing most of their interests on the brutality between players, further increasing the
pressure for men to deliver under such expectations. I argue that ultimately an
incentive to change the violent nature of the hockey culture should be implemented.
Through educating younger players on the negative effects of violence in hockey at a
greater social context, long term change can eventually be established.
Present society has cultivated gender ideologies, such that the distinction between
masculinity and femininity has been defined through social construction. From birth
to childhood, gender norms are learned from what our parents teach us, what is
taught in school, and what is depicted in the media. In the sport of hockey, a majority
of these

37. Comparison Between Dracula And Dracula
Dracula is one of the first famous vampire books. Although it is famous for its
time, modern day vampire stories have produced some of the bestselling TV
shows, books, and movies. Dracula laid the foundation down for these modern day
stories to rise to popularity. If you have read Dracula and seen one of these new
stories, then you can see a lot of similarities in both stories. These modern day stories
share many traits as the book Dracula, but most of the stories have their differences.
This means that the inspiration for most of these new stories are from the book
Dracula. You can tell when you see or read these new shows there is one main
differencebetween them and Dracula. The authors wanted to target an audience of
people. They targeted teenagers and young adults. All of the new shows did this, and
the authors knew doing this would make the stories more popular and make them
more money. They did this by making the vampires young, pretty or handsome, and
stylish. This is just one of the things that makes these new shows different from
Dracula. The TV shows The Vampire
Diaries and The Originals both have many
similarities with the book Dracula. One of these similarities is the way they both can
die. The vampires in both of these stories can die by their head being decapitated or a
wooden stake being driven through their heart. Another thing both share in common
is what their weaknesses are. In both stories the vampires have weaknesses to
sunlight, the

DREAM ANALYSIS
This reflective essay illustrates Freud s theory of dream analysis. It will begin with
a brief overview of Freudian dream theory and will go on to describe the various
components of personality structure and the unconscious from a psychodynamic
perspective. This essay will analyse one of my personal dreams using Freud s dream
analysis theory and conclude with a critical reflection on the application of his theory
as it relates to my dream.
When Freud famously referred to dreams as being the royal road to the unconscious ,
he meant that dreams were a way in which to access the unconscious mind. Dream
analysis in psychoanalysis is the process used to explore the role dreams play in the
unconscious (Corey, 2005). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The latent content is the underlying, hidden part of the dream that holds the true
meaning of the unconscious desires (Solms, 2000). The process by which the latent
content is transformed into the disguised manifest content is what Freud referred to
as the dream work (Sharpe, 1988). The dream work can disguise the latent views
through the following four mechanisms: condensation (the condensing of multiple
thoughts into one), displacement (replaces a latent element by a concealed trivial
reference to it e.g. your mother is represented as a cat), symbolism (which transforms
thoughts into visual elements) followed by a process of secondary revision in which
the dreaming mind takes all these distorted elements and organises them into a more
comprehensible format (Schredl, 2008)
In order to analyse my dream through Freudian interpretation I will begin by
discussing the manifest content. I will attempt to break up the story in the dream
and look at the individual items and events. In my dream I am walking out of a car
park onto a street with many tall buildings, heading towards my counselling
practice class. I am flustered as I have rushed to get to my class on time. As I am
walking, I look down and see that I am wearing my husbands work boots. They have
a lot of mud on them. I suddenly begin to feel how large and heavy they are on me. I

39. Importance Of Generalist Approach In Social Work
Applying the Generalist Practice Approach to Social Work with Child Advocacy
Centers The basic foundation of the generalist practice approach began in the early
1900 s. By the 1960 s, the generalist approach started evolving into the description
of individuals who had the abilities to work at different practice levels ranging
from individual to community (Schatz et al, 1990). In the mid 1970 s, the core
curriculum for the generalist practice social worker was generated. In 1987, Schatz
and Jenkins conducted a study and created a generalist practice model to help show
the connection between, basic generalist, advanced generalist and specialist practices
in social work (Schatz et al, 1990). The study also aided to define the differences...

An example of the specialist practice approach would be a licensed independent
clinical social worker (LICSW). He or she specializes in mental health and focuses
mainly on this aspect of the field. The LICSW uses the generalist practice approach
while practicing in their focused field. Today, the generalist practice approach and
specialist practice approach are the approaches used in the social work field
(Morales et al., 2015). Both of these approaches take a holistic approach to help the
client by using the client s strengths, competencies, and outside resources (Cody
Lehmann, 2008). Both generalists and specialists form a relationship with the
client that allows the client to become empowered. This empowerment permits the
client to take control of his or her situation as well as their success in overcoming
the issue at hand (Cody Lehmann, 2008). Social workers in both forms of practice
utilize the strengths perspective. This perspective uses the client s strengths in
order to come to a solution to the client s issues (Morales et al., 2008). Each
approach utilizes research based methods and looks for the best approach for each
individual at that time while applying the strengths perspective (Morales et al.,
2015). Now that both the specialist and generalist practice approaches have been
discussed, how does this apply in my current field of practice? Before we determine
this, we need to look at the history of the

41. What Caused The Russian Revolution
Without the Russian Revolution, a large part of the 20th century would be missing.
The Revolution had spawned the soviet union and the communist party, which
brought the world a new way of thinking about government, society and the
economy. But it also brought fear to capitalist nations. Around the beginning of the
20th century, Moscow and Petrograd experienced rises in the population. This was
due to many fleeing for the city, because of famine and overcharge in land.
Thousands were unemployed and the employed worked long hours for low pay,
with abusive bosses and dangerous working conditions. The others, who were
drafted to fight, weren t doing to well either. They lacked good leadership and only
one third of the soldiers carried weapons, while the other tried to find ones among
the dead bodies of the battlefield. This led to the Russians disapproving of the war,
and refugees fleeing to the cities, creating more overpopulation. (the Russian

the new product development process. The PIC is also known as a mission
statement and is used to remind organizations about strategies that are there for
products and processes. We will cover four stages of the PIC process as it relates to
the automobileindustry. A market analysis will be done for Toyota. For a company
to be successful, they must recognize consumers demands and needs that the
competitors are not catering to and capitalize. Improvements in technical
development are opportunities which can increase efficiencies in production and
increase goal results in a positive manor. Berry stated the PEST and SWOT method

43. Rhetorical Analysis On Florence Kelley
Michael Memis
September 24, 2016
English P8
In 1905, in the United States, some children as young as six years old are working
in factories and women aren t allowed to vote. Florence Kelley is a fiery and
inspiring child labor activist and also a suffragette. On July 22, 1905, in
Philadelphia, she gives a speech to the National American Women Suffrage
Association (NAWSA) to try to rally them to assist her in her main cause which is
fixing the child labor system. In her speech where she doesn t hold back, Kelley lets
the audience know why the child labor system is atrocious and why they should get
involved. She also tells them the steps that they should take to try to right these
wrongs, in convincing their husbands to vote for child labor ... Show more content on

One thing she does to provoke action is using rhetorical questions. She asks If the
mothers and the teachers in Georgia could vote, would the Georgia Legislature have
refused at every session for the last three years to stop the work in the mills of
children? Would the New Jerseylegislature have passed that shameful repeal bill
enabling girl of fourteen years to work at night, if the mothers in New Jersey were
enfranchised? Kelley knows that the women in NAWSA will vote to end child
labor if they have a right to vote. This is why she asks this rhetorical question. She
wants to let them know that if the women there are allowed to vote that they will
fix some of society s injustices. Kelly additionally uses diction to make the
listeners feel even worse about child labor. She says They carry bundles of
garments from the factories to the tenements, little beasts of burden, robbed of
school life so that they may work for us. A beast of burden is an animal that does
work, like a camel or a donkey. She calls the children little beasts of burden because
they are doing very hard work for any person but especially someone of that age.
Their amount of time that they have to take a break isn t in their own hands but of
that of their master. This diction reveals how in child labor, there is a degradation
of human life. Kelley ends her speech using syntax to leave the audience rushing to
help fix child labor. She declares For the sake of the children for the Republic in
which these children will vote after we are dead, and for the sake of our cause, we
should enlist the workingmen voters with us, in this task of freeing the children
from toil! Kelley uses an exclamatory statement which is a powerful statement for
the audience to be left with. It empowers the women to make a change to help fix
child labor. The end of Kelley s speech clearly
44. Peter Pan Research Paper
He can fly! That quote was said by Wendy in the 1958 Peter Pan movie. Peter Pan is
a great movie. It is about a boy who will never grow up and lives in a long lost place
called Neverland.. Peter Pan is a classic, well known for his flying abilities, the joy
he brings, and his jealous fairy friend Tinkerbell. To add, Peter has a frightening
enemy named Captain Hook, also known as Black Beard in the new Pan movie that
came out in 2015. Between the 1958 version and the 2015 reboot, I prefer the 1958
Peter Panmovie because it s original. I m going to compare and contrast the
differences of both movies by its style and reviews.
Pan is our greatest warrior (Pan). In the new Pan movie there is a completely
different style to what the old Peter Pan movie used to be. In the new movie there
is no singing. In addition, the new movie was not animated, instead they used real
actors. On the other hand, in the 1950 s the Peter Pan movie had plenty of songs
that they would sing. For example, in the movie they sing What Makes the Red
Man Red, and Jealous Girls ( Peter Pan Movie Review ). The movie was less intense
than the new movie because in the new movie there was a lot of ... Show more content

Both of these movies can relate to each other because it has the same concept. In
addition, to the comparing and contrasting both movies I prefer the old movie
because it is a classic and it was a movie that I grew up with. I like the concept that
Peter Pan was supposed to be an imagination that came to life because Wendy and
her two brothers believed in him. Not only that but both movies have different
scenes but are similar in a way because the directors tried to add the story of the old
movie. For instance, in the new movie Pan gets kidnapped by pirates at the
orphanage he was living in, but in the old 1950 s movie peter goes to Wendy s house
and takes Wendy and her brothers to

On July 28, 1935, the first porotype of the B 17 or also known as the B 299 took
off from Boeing Field in south Seattle on its first ever test flight (Boeing B 17 ).
Seattle Times reporter Richard Smith dubbed the new plane, with its many .30 caliber
machine guns, the Flying Fortress, (qtd.in Boeing). A name that Boeingquickly
adopted and trademarked for the gigantic bomber (Boeing B 17 ). The U.S. Army
Air Corps designated the plane as the B 17. Boeing created the plane in response to
the Army s request for a large, multi engine bomber. The B 17 financed entirely by
Boeing, went from the design board to flight tests in less than a year. In Boeings

46. Counterculture Of The 1960s Essay
The 1960s: An Era Which Gave Birth to a New Generation
During the 1960s, the society went through an enormous change in every aspect. A
few of these include movements related to counterculture, drugs, youth movement,
and generation gap. As the course material implies, the counterculture refers to a
movement against the way of life represented by mainstream culture (Amies). It
gave birth to a new generation of people like the hippies, who were mostly into drugs
and it also gave birth to a new genre of music called folk and rock . A few songs
which illustrate the sixties are The Times They Are a Changin by Bob Dylan, For
What It s Worth by Buffalo Springfield, Heroin by The Velvet Underground
, and The
Pusher by Steppenwolf. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These transformations had a great impact for the future generations, even though
the sixties had a lot of negative influence due to the use of drugs. The four songs
listed above give a clear picture to how, the sixties made the society think on their
feet as they were challenged in every negative aspect like political issues, war,
drugs and many more. To overcome these challenges, the society had to be united
and work as a unit for its betterment. This was achieved by eradicating negative
effects and focusing on a plan to accomplish a positive aftermath. Moreover, these
songs had a great influence on mass audiences around the world as the lyrics had a
huge impact on them. The people were deeply affected by the performance of these
rock artists, as they paved a path to expressing their views on the society.
Furthermore, these artists expressed themselves through concerts, which drew the
attention of audiences in mass numbers. This lead to people being connected to these
artists, which help them express their views by being unified. However, these social
transformations took decades to deliver a positive environment in the society, even
though the era had a lot of negative air around
47. The Effectiveness Of Animal Protection Laws Essay
The Effectiveness of Animal Protection Laws in the United States Almost eight
million dogs and cats are surrendered to local shelters each year. Of those nearly
three million are euthanized in the U.S. according to the ASPCA. There are only
three federal laws in the nation regarding animals, The Animal Welfare Act
(AWA), Humane Methods of Slaughter Act, and the Twenty Eight Hour Act of
1877. The AWA specifies regulation for domesticated pets, while the other two are
for livestock and humane killings, but these don t even include chickens! States
are responsible for any other animal laws, while in the European Union (EU),
fifteen countries implement and provide legislation on proper animal care across
the board. Why is it that the United States hasn t passed any federal legislation
since 1966? Are states laws really enough? Federal domestic animal law should be
more stringent. Many owners regard their pets as children. There are an
unsurmountable amount of laws regarding the treatment and wellbeing of a child.
However, because these animals are seen as personal property, the same type of
effort has not been placed forth for the fur babies . Laws are instituted for the
protection of humanity; however, this planet is shared with many other species who
deserve even the simplest of protections. Legislation focuses heavily on the proper
care and treatment of pigs, sheep, and cows; but, not man s best friend? Legislation
for the humane treatment of pets only exists at the state

49. A Reflection On My Philosophy Of Education
My philosophy of education is that each child is a unique individual who needs a
secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature
emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. A safe environment is very
beneficial to a child s learning. Providing a safe environment will allow a child to
expand his or her horizons and feel free to learn new tasks and topics. A vision
statement is a public declaration that schools use to describe their high level goals
for the future and for what they hope to achieve if they successfully fulfill their
organizational purpose. A vision statement may also describe a school s ideals, its
organizational values, long term objectives, or what it hopes its students will learn or
be capable of doing after graduating.
We will have a peaceful, productive, caring, and orderly learningenvironment that
meets the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of all students. Our
goal is to prepare students for a successful school experience without the need for
remediation.
I incline to have an effective impact on the culture at Waynesboro Middle School.
There will be a reinforcement of trust, collaborative decision making, and a shared
sense of purpose within the school environment. Everyone will be a lifelong learner
at the school including: students, teachers, parents, and administrators. Professional
development will be a key aspect in meeting the needs of diverse learners and student
achievement; in
50. The Nature Of Freedom By Jacques Derrida
In The Politics of Friendship, Jacques Derrida boldly declares: no deconstruction
without democracy, no democracy without deconstruction. Accordingly, this
democracy to come could not exist without some semblance of freedom. This
deconstructive form of freedom is certainly not an individual freedom to do as one
pleases, nor is it simply freedom from constraint. The freedom which constitutes
deconstructionis aporetic in nature, thus making it difficult (or rather impossible)
to give a straightforward definition. However, this lack of a definition for freedom
is not a problem for Derrida. In fact, the undefinable nature of freedom is the
condition for its existence. If a full definition of freedom were to be given, its
ability to thrive would be crushed. However, this does not mean that discussions
regarding the nature of freedom are without meaning. In discussing what freedom
could be, what freedom could mean, one can better understand how to maximize
freedom in both societies and our individual lives. To recognize the tension that lies
within the word freedom is to better understand what its existence could actually
entail. During an interview in 2001, Derrida stated the following regarding his
suspicion towards Freedom : In my opinion, the most free thought is one that is
constantly coming to terms with the effects of the machine. That s why I rarely use
the word freedom in the way I know you do ... I will fight for specific freedoms, but I
will not calmly speak
51. Descriptive Essay On Guest House
Crash A typical day at my grandparent s cabin in the Black Hills consists of a lot of
sitting around and just hanging out. Some days the whole family will go on a four
wheeler ride for most of the day. Sometimes we will go do something like visit a cave
or drive to Rapid City or Custer or Hill City or some other town out there. My
Grandma cooks the best meals. You look forward to every single meal knowing that
it was going to be a great one. My dad s side of the familyincludes Stetson and Nick.
Not many people outside of my family have been to my grandparents cabin, so I ll
give you a little description, it s not very small. The main house consists of 4
bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, plus a lot of space in the kitchen and living room. Next,
you have a smaller guest house which consists of 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, plus a
garage.
So Stetson, Nick, and I always hangout together out there and do the same things.
We sleep in one of the guest house rooms where there are 3 beds with a TV. One of
the beds is a full size bed where Stetson sleeps, and Nick and I sleep in 2 twin size
beds. However, the twin size beds will give you a massage and can sit up and lay
down. During the day we usually lie around or ride four wheelers around the area..
However, on this particular day, things turned out a little different than we expected.
In 2012, the weekend of Sturgis, the entire family decided to take a trip out to the
Hills. Porter, my brother, brought along a friend, Braedon Wulf. At the
52. The Problem Of Police Misconduct
The problem of police misconduct related to sexual violence against women has
affected the Kenyan community for many decades now. The issue concerning
women security should be handled with caution so as to achieve the goal of gender
equality in Kenya and the world as a whole. Disturbing statistics reveal how misuse
of power by the policeworsened the awful conditions that faced women. The police
unit is supposed to protect all members of the societies that were closely linked to
the sexual violence against women. Some of the sexual abuse cases reported to the
police were easily overlooked with the police collaborating with the offenders to
undermine the rights of women. Besides, the police in their peacekeeping missions
exerted excess force against unarmed civilians. The males received thorough beatings,
while females were intimidated, harassed, and raped by the police. Victims of sexual
violence committed by the police during the post election violence have the right to
get their justice through punishment of the guilty police and compensation for their
losses.
Background to the Problem
During depressing periods of civil unrest and war, it is women and children who
suffer most of the crimes against humanity that include rape, physical mutilation, and
even death. Women are perceived as weak and an inferior sex in most societies.
Therefore, the women are vulnerable to all sorts of social and psychological turmoil
associated with the effects of brutal sexual experiences.
53. FaпїЅade Of St Gervais
Description of the Façade of St. Gervais St. Protais The façade of St. Gervais
designed by early 17th century French architect Salomon de Brosse (1571 1626)
was built in 1616, with the young king Louis XIII laying the first cornerstone.
Different from the Flamboyant Gothic of the interior, the façade is regarded as the
French form of the Roman Baroque style, which introduced the completely new
classical style to 17th century French architecture. The façade attaching to the
existing Flamboyant Gothic church is a symmetrical, three storey structure that has
traditional three bays on first two levels and remains the central bay on the top
level. The most proximate stylistic reference for this façade may be de l Orme s
frontispiece of the ChГўteau of Anet. Instead of using unnecessary ornaments, the
façade underlines the characteristics of classicism in balance, mass and clarity by
creatively using classical architectural language. Three storeys are used to cover the
Gothic church behind rather than the typical two storey church façade. In this way,
the classical dimension and proportion are maintained since the projecting Gothic
aisles and buttresses make the whole visual composition much wider. Therefore the
façade is increased in height to balance the horizontal dimension. St. Gervais is
regarded as a leading work of proportion and dignity from Baroque to classical
architecture. The most dominant classical vocabulary of orders is applied to the
façade: from
54. The Internet Age
Since the birth of the internet many different aspects of our lives have been
affected, as a result of this, two large parts of our society have aligned themselves on
contrasting sides. One side wishes to see the end of this virtual age and hopes for the
return of more traditional media. The other encourages the abandonment of the real
world for a virtual one. Both extremes are problematic; a middle ground must be
found.Through wires and radio waves, the Internethas become a literal web that binds
all of humanity together. It is in our best interest to use this connection to improve the
physical world, because when it is used wisely it becomes a powerful medium for
education, socialization, and global communication.

These databases can easily be accessed by typing in a few key phrases. Steven
Pinker, a Harvard College professor, believes that the Internet allows us to search and
retrieve our collective intellectual output (221). This factor becomes very useful in
our academic lives. Without the Internet, academic papers are limited to the
information contained in the district libraries and the information spread by the local
newspapers. With the Internet, they are filled with a variety of data, statistics, and
opinions posted online by people from all differing countries and continents. The web
allows us to read about and understand the contrasting viewpoints that exist on our
planet. The virtual world is a great way for people to share their thoughts and
opinions with other like minded individuals. Although it is a fact that socialization is
an important part of our mental health, using the web as our sole means of social
interaction is detrimental to our physical health. Yet a huge portion of our global
society has been spending an increasing amount of time living within a virtual reality.
This phenomenon is best explained by Jane McGonigal, director of Games Research
and Development at Institute for the Future, who reveals that people are beginning to
realize that virtual simulations can be used to distract themselves from their hunger:
a hunger for more satisfying work, for a stronger sense of community, and for a more
engaging and meaningful life (226). Even

The Thirteen English Colonies

In the late 16th century, European nations were notorious for colonizing other
nations. Their main motivation was seeking wealth in terms of valuable minerals,
land to perform agriculture, and an additional market for their products. America,
which was newly discovered at the time, did not escape their eyes. Of all the
European nations, the British sent numerous groups on an expedition to the east
coast of the Americas to establish colonies. The colonies expanded along the
shoreline of the east coast of the Americas and grew to consist of four regions.
Chesapeake and New England were among the two colonies, and they exhibited some
similarities and differences.

Chesapeake was majorly an agricultural town spotting big tobacco plantation farms.
Settlers in New England, however, realized that their soil could not be suitable for
tobacco growing and thus concentrated their energies on other economic activities.
New England consisted of more literate and informed population who were skilled in
various business aspects. Consequently, they started engaging in businesses and
developing several commercial enterprises in the region. As a result, their economy
largely depended on commercial trade, while that of Chesapeake was tied to
agriculture. The agriculture dependent economies in Chesapeake paved way for other
industries, such as slave trade in the
