2. Military Family Vs Military Families
In the Norfolk, Virginia area there is an astronomical number of military families who live within
city limits and are accompanied by the non military families. Having the privilege of experiencing
both lifestyles over the years of my life, it brings with gratitude, and encouragement to distinguish
the many similarities and differences each lifestyle represents. Every military spouseknows the
lifestyle is immensely different than Civilian families and how relentless at times it might be,
while the civilian families in turn may not realize what it s like behind the curtains. There are
many similarities us military wives and families and civilian wives and families go through, but
there are significantly more differences and sacrifices us military spouses go through than civilian
wives could even imagine.
Military families face the repercussion of forced relocation, all while normal American families
have the sole decision where in fact they would locate their families. In the negative realm, these
military families, more so the spouses are forced to acquire jobs which are often at time unwanted,
and are families are forced to choose schools in undesirable locations that could have everlasting
impact on education down the road. Civilian couples remain optimistic, and put their marriage first

unfortunately comes before their marriage. Most civilian families are rewarded to sit down in

3. Hedonism In Oscar Wilde s The Picture Of Dorian Gray
In Oscar Wilde s The Picture of Dorian Gray, the author introduces the naive protagonist Dorian
Gray as he undergoes rapid transformation to seek self indulgence through hedonism. Throughout
the course of the novel, he demonstrates his allegiance to his beauty and seals his conscience in
the form of a painting as to never expose the desecration of his soul to society. Oscar Wilde
manipulates allusion, pessimistic diction, and subtle imagery to manifest Dorian s perpetual fear of
his youthful deterioration being publicly showcased and the temptation of enamoring his aesthetic
appearance, which facilitates the process of initiating the Faustian pact as a Byronic Hero.
Assimilating to the role of a tragic hero, Dorian Gray exhibits an unconventional philosophy,
hedonism, which contradicts the norms of the Victorian Era. Through this characteristic, his
devotion to the aesthetics of his life takes precedence over morality and ethics. Extolling at the
magnificence of his painting, symbolizing the consequences of his transgressions, is the
manifestation of the temptation that has corrupted the sanctity of his cerebral cortex. In essence,
his obsession with eternal youth, infinite passion, pleasures subtle and secret, wild joys and wilder
sins were the focus of his existence from which the allusion to the Faustian legend can be
interpreted as dealing with supernatural forces of nature to further his conviction. Tempted by the
extravagant luxuries that are limited to humanity for a short period of time hinders one from using
it to its full potential. Relinquishing his virtues by bequeathing it to the portrait, he surrenders to
his temptations as he draws the screen back into its former place in front of the picture, smiling as
he did so... if the picture was to alter, it was to alter. That was all. Desiring a selfish satisfaction
that goes against conventional wisdom qualifies as a sin, due to his excessive lifestyle consisting of
no consequences. His principles have been bestowed upon another entity to feel the ramifications of
Dorian s eternal youth, which enables him to abuse the wonders of appearance to his heart s
content. His surrendering to the temptation of eternal youth is one trait that essentially

4. The Four Noble Truths And The Noble Eightfold Path
The core principals of Buddhism can be found in The Four Noble Truths and The Noble
Eightfold Path. The Four Noble Truths are the truths about life. The first one is that in order to
live, you re going to suffer. Mind and body can inevitably become sick and lead to stress in life.
Second noble truth is that suffering stems from a cause; desire. They go hand in hand in an
inverse relationship. If someone desires to be private, they re constantly going to be worried about
when they re not alone. This is so prevalent that the pleasure they get from being alone is not
worth the struggle of privacy. The third noble truth is tied in by saying to end the suffering; a
person must end all desires. Lastly, the fourth noble truth describes the best ways to end suffering is
to follow the eightfold path. To find inner peace, someone must follow the eightfold path. In order
to achieve this you must do all of these correctly: understanding,... Show more content on

But the more I think about it, the less shocked I am. The monks apart of the violence have motives
that are much more past religious belief. It s most likely a means of corruption to control the area
spiritually, and then in turn, politically. They could also be radical and suppressive because they
are doing whatever they can to prove that Buddhism is the master religion. A similar, but not as
radical example can be seen with senator Ted Cruz and other political figures. While they are very
openly Christian (another religion that is not too keen on the idea of violence) and support
religious freedom, when it comes to religions other than their own, their views change. This can be
seen with supporting armed protests outside mosques, or be open to carpet bombs in Syria. Both of
these things are far from the true religion, but the person is still seen as openly religious. When
corruption occurs, people can put selfish interests above what they were spiritually and morally

5. Designing A Computer Model Of A Human Body
If you are new to 3D, you may wonder what exactly the term rendering means. Rendering is the
process of developing a life like image or animation from any 2D or 3D model with the help of
computer programs. The model generated holds three dimensional qualities such as shadows,
texture, lighting and viewpoint. Rendering can take a few minutes or even up to days for a single
image per frame.
In a 3D graphics context, rendering is a leading interactive media process and the last stage in the
pipeline. Rendering has been gradually improving in terms of the speed as computer has become
more rapid and the breakthrough from programmers. Rendering has been dated all the way back in
the 1960s, and American computer graphics director William Fetter was the first to create a
computer model of a human body.
William Fetter administers the progress development of a computer program as he was attempting
to come up with a new process which allowed him to widen the layout efficiency inside Boeing s
airplane cockpits. Fetter defines the process by calling it computer graphics . It was one of Fetter s
partner, Ivan Sutherland who transformed things in motion in 1963. The graphical communication
system name Sketchpad enabled one to interactively create an image on the computer display for
the first time. This granted Fetter the ability to create the first ever three dimensional image of the
human body through computer graphics. It was called the First Man or also known as Boeing Man .

To go full circle on the first point we decided that machines must take into account the concept of
making rules and reflecting on past rules. The second point was to see how thinking and self
awareness is achieved at the height of the process of rulemaking. The concept of language and
symbols Searles is very important as an example as it sheds light on why machines can t ever be
human even with human brains as Searles claim they need to be a theoretical StrongAI.
Language was created by mapping things and association of learned objects. To truly learn a
language we have to understand and experience what it stands for. Language is an expression of
results based on tests on objects that are now definable. It is a shortcut for learning information.
Therefore it s important that AI does more than think in a correct pattern as our experience of
inputs comes from our interactions with one another and what we learn from language and not
on our own in solitude. The man the Chinese Room cannot have those things and therefore
cannot learn a language in the method he is prescribed. This wraps in the thoughts of the second
point as well to feel self aware we identify ourselves in relation to other people. This shows our
society is also one big brain that is made up of variety of rooms or people in this case all making

maximum in public schools, since limiting what type of books to read is creating a iron wall in
our public schools. When I say Iron wall, it reminds me on how the state is trying to create a

Asian and minority ethnic groups (BAME) will be addressed. The Lammy Review has been
instrumental in outlining the disproportionate representation of BAME groups within the CJS. In a
letter addressed to the Prime minister, David Lammy reports the findings from his review. 51% of
UK born individuals from BAME backgrounds believe that the CJS discriminates against certain

However, post PACE there have still been injustices. In 1990, the Cardiff Three were wrongly
convicted of the murder of a prostitute. During police interviewing of the men, the police deployed
barbaric interrogation techniques, petrifying the men into signing false confessions (Belloni and
Hodgson, 2000. pg. 10). These confessions, used as evidence against the men in court, wrongly
imprisoned them. However, two years later in 1992, the scandalous nature of the police
investigation was exposed and the men were released (Campbell, 2013). The court s decision to
quash the sentence exposed the misconduct and institutional racism present in the police. The
Cardiff Three is an example of the police fabricating confessional evidence, through the torment and
torture of the men. All three men were from BAME backgrounds and had consequently been
framed for a crime they didn t commit. Such incidents suggest a discriminatory and racist culture
that still exists within the police and court institutions today, and hence, the task of the CJS in
England and Wales providing justice for all is unachievable whilst racially discriminatory views

He while gambling receives an urgent phone call (the conversation is not heard, this adds to the
movies suspense). The phone call as well as the camera shots emphasise his importance in the film.
The clothes worn by James Bond (a tuxedo) are very glamorous and sophisticated. They also
emphasise that he is important.
A view to kill, the second James Bond movie to be analysed in this essay, has the same gun shot
scene at the start, but the action in the movie is much better. This is probably due to the date of
release (1985). Dr No was released in 1962. The difference is probably due to more advanced
technology being available.
A view to Kill focuses more on girls and action. The camera angles used in this movie also make
the movie more exciting.
The first scene in this film shows James Bond (Roger Moore) skiing in the Arctic looking for a
microchip. He is dressed in white this may be a disguise to camouflage him (the snow he is
skiing on is white) from the villains who are dressed in green. The shots in this screen are close
up shots and extreme long shots. The extreme long shots emphasis the depth of the scene and also
hide the stunt mans face from the audience. The close up shots are used to show discoveries made
by James Bond i.e. the micro chip.

How might the business you have chosen improve the way that it motivates its staff?

business is a public limited company; which is run by Tata Motors. Jaguar Land Rovers headquarter

This will cause staff to start their work early as they are then already at work. A consequence of this
is increasing their employee s attendance and punctuality therefore productivity increases.
Another advantage of offering free food to Jaguar Land Rover staff is that they are encouraged to
do overtime. This is because their dinner would already be paid for. This can cause employees to
do extra work and increase sales. Resulting in the business to gain more profit.
However, offering employees free food can be a weakness in some aspects. For example, jaguar can
lose money by offering their employees free food. This is because jaguar land rover in castle
Bromwich has over 2500 employees which would then result it being very expensive for them all
to take advantage of this motivational method. Moreover causing Jaguar Land Rover to lose profit
and therefore won t be able to afford the equipment to not only make cars but specialised ones.
Another disadvantage of offering free food to Jaguar Land Rover staff is that the company may be
open to health risks. This is because the chemicals and fumes, machinery and being round dust
could create health hazards within the food content being served. The consequences of this are,
more employees will take time off work to recover and reduce the amount of cars produced.
I conducted some primary research and asked 5 members of staff what new methods of motivation
they would like to see jaguar adapt to

Therapeutic nuclear medicine is used in many different ways to help and treat patients when they
are fighting cancer or other diseases. Doctors will take the steps to do whatever they can to make
sure that the patient will survive or at least achieve improvement in their health to some degree.
When a patient is undergoing surgery to remove the cancer cells, the doctors will often have them
go through radiation beforehand to shrink the cancer or tumor down to a size that is easier to
remove and to ensure they are not removing more than necessary. Often during surgery, the
surgeons will again treat the patient with radiation while they are open so that the radiation is
hitting the direct tumor or cancer cells being targeted. Another benefit is that it provides the
radiation treatment without having to direct it through the skin again. This reduces the amount of
radiation that the patient is getting to a certain degree. Once the surgery is over, the patient will
often have to continue with more treatments to make sure that, if anything was missed, it will be
attacked by the radiation and be prevented from spreading. Eliminating the cancerous cells can
often take more than one type of medical therapy, and it can often take multiple treatments

Alfred Hitchcock also used cinematography in a uniquely stylizing way. Hitchcock not only uses
the camera to create dramatic irony, but he also uses the camera to lie to the audience and create
anxious suspense. For example, in his film Psycho, when Marion is in the shower Hitchcock
frames the scenes very tightly. Marion is in a confined and very personal space. This makes her
incredibly vulnerable. Then Hitchcock heightens the suspense by creating dramatic irony with the
reveal of a shadowy figure closing in on Marion, unbeknownst to her. This creates a lot of anxiety
for the audience, knowing the protagonist is vulnerable and in danger with no way of altering the
inevitable. Hitchcock then manipulates the audience by revealing a brief silhouette of an old lady
as our shower killer. Hitchcock uses this reveal to lie to the audience, he makes the audience think
they have more inside knowledge confirming their already growing suspicions, when in reality the
audience is misled entirely and the murderer was Norman all along. The way Hitchcock uses the
camera to reveal both inside information and misleading information truly keeps the viewer
engaged and not knowing what to believe until the truth is finally revealed. By using this unique
technique of controlling the audience by only showing what he wants you to see, Hitchcock
masterfully defies expectations and creates suspense. Both

19. Types Of Compensation For Employees
Types of Compensation
Natalie A. Szczep

Intermediate Accounting II
Keiser University
Abstract
There are many different forms of compensation that employers pay to their workers. The
accounting treatment of these various forms of pay are different depending on the type, frequency
and amounts of compensation due. Each type of compensation also has different disclosures
required, advantages and disadvantages based on the accounting rules. The following pages will
take a closer look at three forms of compensation: base wages, vacation pay, and bonuses.
Salaries expense is the most basic type of compensation to be accounted for. Salary is
compensation paid to an employee for services rendered to a company. The entries recorded to pay
salaries are entered based on the pay cycle of the company, whether it is weekly, biweekly, monthly
or bimonthly, etc. These pay cycles do not always coincide with the issuing of financial statements,
and the income statement must show total expenses for that period. Expenses for salaries are
accrued, to show that the amounts have been earned, even if the pay date occurs after the end of
the accounting period and therefore, the issuing of the income statement (Averkamp, 2015). The
accrual for salaries expense is classified as a current liability on the balance sheet per the FASB
code 210 10 45 8c (Asc.fasb.org, 2015). So, the accounting treatment and classifications are fairly

The Batch Processing System currently used at AG Z is a system where products are produced in
bulk quantities or batches whether required by the customer or not. These goods are then stored in

The Just in Time system however is a process that produces necessary products as required. This
system is highly beneficial as it reduces the amount of inventory waste, as the goods are made to
order. It also reduces warehousing costs as the goods are made and shipped directly to the customer
rather than being held for extended periods at the warehouse.
As a result of these benefits, the JIT system has been particularly effective for companies with a
high customer demand on newly developed technologies such as computers. If the product is

exactly what they want with modern technology, but it also benefits the manufacturer who is

no one would have thought of. He also attacked the marshland with big weapons like the

they don t have any homes. So after all of that the marsh land were completely destroyed except for
a very small part of the marshlands, Which changed the culture because the marshes were almost

Could too much pride be a bad thing or is pride a good thing? Pride is taking pleasure from the
person s own achievements. I say pride could go both ways. Let s say you are playing a baseball

feel good because people are congratulating that play. Pridecould also make people do something
to make sure their pride is still there, but I believe that pride is a good thing.
People will be proud of many things such as: owning a home or graduating college because they
knew it was going to be hard but they persevered. Although pride could be a good thing, there are
also many definitions of pride as it states in article 1, John Amodeo Ph.D., MFT Why Pride Is
Nothing to Be Proud Of , A feeling that you are more important or better than other people and
inordinate self esteem. So many people will be so prideful that they won t ask for help or admit

The Cookie Monster who is a puppet who is obsessed with eating cookies, especially the

and popular among them. The cause of making the Cookie Monster becoming a vegetarian would
be to set a good diet example for the children. It would affect both the Cookie Monster and the
children. If we were to turn the Cookie Monster into a vegetarian, there would be some good
effects but also some bad effects as well.
The very first good effect he would have is, he will lose weight. Because one of the most obvious
reason he is overweight is from eating too much cookies. Because of eating excessive cookies, he
always seems hyper and always wants to eat more. Since he only loves cookies, every time he wants
to eat, he would only eat cookies. Since cookies have a lot of sugar in them, he is less likely to be
healthy. If he was to become a vegetarian, he would become healthier. He would become less

25. Toni Morrison Analysis Essay
For centuries, poetry has remained an effective method of expressing ones emotions and aesthetics
without excessive criticism. Some distinguished individuals participated in this literary exercise
and despite their motives, they acquired the profound ability to empathize with their audiences
ambitions, fears, and misfortunes. During the lamentable times of racial and economic turmoil, a
brilliant woman named Toni Morrison was introduced into this world and would later be a
remarkable influence on literature. Proactively, she channeled her frustrations and fears of racial

For instance, Morrison elaborates on the adjective unbidden (Morrison, line 6) by including a

poem. Although Morrison is aware of life s relentless issues that ultimately prevent this illustration
from being possible, she subtly encourages her audience to aspire to establish a similar mindset.
Correspondingly, Morrison explores the latter aspect of her theme in her poem Someone Leans
Near In contrast to It Comes Unadorned , Someone Leans Near is significantly more somber as it
likely depicts one s fearful moments prior to their death. Morrison establishes a distressed tone as
she begins her poem, illustrating the protagonist as despondent from experiencing something
ghastly as well as a supernatural entity which correlates with the Someone mentioned in the title.
Unfortunately, the poem does not explicitly mention the living status of the protagonist or whether
or not the entity is a figment of the protagonist s imagination. The protagonist is portrayed as
depressed and lonely, shedding salt [from their] eyes (Morrison, line 2) desperately in need of
words of reason, love or play (Morrison, line 4) In addition, the pessimistic allegories further
establish the protagonist as distant, and the audience can empathize with the protagonist s

lives, positions, and their form of a kingdom? My goal is to find these connections between the
United States current and former presidents, Barrack Obama and George W. Bush and two Roman
emperors, Augustusand his great grandson, Nero.
After a 20 year period of transition from the republic and the assassination of Julius Caesar,

Rome and organize the construction of the buildings that were burned or destroyed. The attempt to

Nero was surrounded by death and as emperor was known for his many of his atrocities and
executions, including the execution of his mother. Even as a child, Nero was surrounded by death
in his family. Nero s father, Lucious Ahenobarbus, died when Nero was 2 years old. Several other
family members deaths followed including: his uncle, aunt and cousin; his half brother, and his

The influence of French culture within Canada has a rich history that can only be attributed to
one man, Samuel de Champlain who not only shaped the history of France but of Canada as

Atlantic Ocean from 1603 until his death in 1635 (Ritchie, 2016; Samuel de Champlain , 2004;

The 1609 expedition of Samuel de Champlain was conceived from his want to explore and
colonize Quebec, but was supported because of political and economic gains that were to be had
by the French bourgeoisie from an established fur trade. There were many arguments that broke
out between the wealthy investors of Champlain s expedition whom sought to monopolize the
fur trade individually. This led to Champlain going back to Canada to create better ties with the
Aboriginal peoples of Quebec in order to ensure that they would supply beaver pelts that he
could give to his investors who would sell them in France (Wilson, 2013; Champlain, Samuel de,
2016). This shows that while Samuel de Champlain s expeditions were meant to focus around
the colonization of eastern Canada, many investors of his exploration just sought to gain even
more power and money by monopolizing the fur trade and becoming wealthy off of it. While
the interests of the French elite were at the heart of Champlain s expedition, this very fact was
the reason that he decided to make good relations with the native peoples of Quebec (save for the
Iroquois who he not on good terms with [Monette, 2016; Wikipedia, 2016]), as they would supply
him with furs for that reason ( Champlain, Samuel de, 2016) . While much of Champlain s 1608

more globalized, it s major cities have shot up, and pollution has gone through the roof. Resulting
from the industrial revolution, China and its cities have both grown and been destroyed.
Shanghai, for example, Chinas main center for world trade is the wealthiest as well as the largest

motor vehicle emissions, coal burning and the heavy amount of industry that takes place.

The American says, That s the only thing that bothers us. It s the only thing that s made us unhappy.

the ultimate choice is, she feels conflicted and her pain, which builds throughout the story and as
the conversation progresses, becomes more obvious. What is most interesting is, as his second

mask that portrays himself to be a good, charismatic and somewhat strong willed father figure to

Dwight indulges himself in self satisfaction of the methods that he thinks suited Jack the most
instead of the things that Jack needed from a parent, such as security and support. These scenes
are shown during the part where Dwight uses Jack s Winchester rifle to shoot and comments
badly about the equipment and breaking his promise to allow Jack to shoot in the gun range.
These few masks that Dwight adorned proved to be the start of Jack s distrust as many promises
were broken and only went as far as imaginations. This later corroded Jack s true self of freedom
and happiness as Dwight proved to be a disappointment for both Jack and his mother. Later on,
Dwight sells Jack s Winchester rifle, taking away the only thing that Jack truly enjoys and feels
comfortable with. In this book, Jack is tortured numerous times, both physically and

The term genre is referenced frequently when describing film, literature, music, and other mediums
of artistry, and yet attempting to define the term itself is difficult. Genre studies are rife with
uncertainty and conflicting opinions on how best to define and research genre. Some theorists opt
for a semantic approach, a broader categorization a genrethat encompasses a large number of films,
the building blocks of which are commonplace across that genre. In contrast to the semantic
theorists, some prefer a syntactic approach, isolating select films which most ideally represent the

Also present throughout the genre is the continual search for a national identity in a landscape of
drastic change. This includes an attempt to overcome dialectical and communicative problems at
the core of American society. These are conventions included in the genre s syntax, and they
accompany a Bundle of Oppositions which often play a key role in a character s motivation and the
plot of the Western filmitself. These divergent concepts include: purity v. corruption , self
knowledge v. illusion , savagery v. humanity , and brutalization v. refinement . Apart from the
aforementioned syntactical conventions of the genre, the semantics of the Western are easily
spotted and used in the vast majority of classical Western films. These more noticeable
characteristics include the setting of the legendary Western frontier, guns and gun battles, violence,
horses, and stock characters. One of these archetypal characters is the Frontier Hero , a character
identified with the landscape of the west, and whose purpose in the film is to purge that landscape
of obstacles in the way of its development. Also included in this generic cast of the Western are the

and the lonely sheriff . These semantics are commonplace in many archaic westerns, and yet their
prominence has faded as time passes.* The Searchers is a classical Western to the extreme,

Bait fishing for Shad with a Cast Net
After having to purchase bait fish for many years, I decided to get a cast net and try to catch my

Purposes for Conducting Qualitative Research
There are four major purposes for conducting qualitative research. They are exploratory,
explanatory, descriptive and emancipatory.
The purpose of exploratory qualitative research is to investigate little understood phenomenon, to
identify or discover important categories of meaning and to generate hypotheses for future research.
The purpose of explanatory qualitative research is to explain patterns related to the phenomenon
being studied and to identify plausible relationships shaping the phenomenon.
The purpose of descriptive qualitative research is to describe and document phenomena.
The purpose of emancipatory qualitative research is to create opportunities and the will to engage
in social action.
Step 1: Develop a theoretical and conceptual understanding of the phenomenon being studied;
which includes performing background research on the theoretical foundations of the phenomenon
and researching research conducted on the phenomenon s field. This step involves making sure
one fully understands the topic. One should have a clear understanding of the topic before moving
further into the next step. A significant amount of research of the topic should be done to develop
a clear understanding of the topic and how to approach finding background information in regards
to what is being discussed. For example, with the topic of social media and college students, one

in 1911. It was part of the Classical Approach which refers to the first studies of management that

Likewise, McDonalds has also adopted Taylor s theory to their workforce by identifying the one
best way of completing the required tasks in each food station, detailed instruction for each carried

McDonald is a big global franchising business with more than 34,000 stores in 118 countries that
sells hamburgers on every continent, well apart from Antarctica, its focus are mostly on efficiency
and nothing is left to chance. For example, the hamburger patties are prepacked and pre measured
and delivered to the store in a frozen form that will then need to cook for a certain amount of time
and ready for constructing a burger. Considering amount of millions hamburgers they sells
everyday, this approach of management have save McDonalds tons of time.
Equivalently, Henry Ford was also inspired by Taylor s idea of scientific management and
ultimately, applied Taylor s theory to his manufacturing procedures of the Model T automobile.
Correspondingly, all three examples have some sort of a standardised production process to
achieve greatest consistency. It can be depicted as the theory that performs best with specific basic

38. The Physics Of A Wave
Introduction
As seen in the previous laboratory experiment, standing waves are produced when a wave and its
reflection are superposed. When a wave travels on a string we notice places of maximum amplitude
called antinodes, and regions of no amplitude at all, that we call nodes. When the medium in which
the wave travels is air instead of a string, similar observations are made. In this case, the antinodes
are regions of maximum compression in the air column, while the nodes are those regions which
have the lowest compression or pressure. These regions are sometimes called regions of
rarefaction. In this experiment, we used a Vernier microphone, a labquest, and PVC tubes to study
waves in a column of air.
Description of Set Up
The setup of this experiment was fairly easy. Firstly, the temperature probe and the microphone
were fixed to a ring stand and connected to the labquest; the labquest was itself connected to the
CPU. Photo 1. From here, the logger Pro was launched. The temperature reading was recorded
(20.7 o C in our case) and the microphone background reading was noted. As this point, the use of
the temperature probe was over, and so it was disconnected from the labquest.

including Kenneth Norville Red Norvo , Erroll Garner, Chesney Chet Baker, Milton Shorty
Rogers, Foreststorn Chico Hamilton, Clifford Bud Shank, Keith Red Mitchell, Robert Whitlock,
and also some rising talent of the area. At The Haig, Mulligan created his famous pianoless quartet
with Chico Hamilton on drums, Robert Whitlock on bass, and Chet Baker on trumpet. Mulligan s
idea of having a rhythm section without a chordal instrument (i.e., piano, guitar, vibraphone) was
in part inspired by his desire of using more counterpoint. Having gained a lot of experience as an

In Stephen King s novel, Rita Hayworths and the Shawshank Redemption, every prisoner in
Shawshank Prison is locked up, not only literally, but also metaphorically. There are different
levels of captivity in Shawshank, the large, recreation yard to solitary confinement. The prison is a
community outside of the world the prisoners have been removed from. Strict schedules, all of the
sadistic keepers, and the oppressing Sisters add sense of captivity and isolation from the outside
world.
Shawshank shows the prisoner s isolation to themselves and they hide their senses of identity.
Underneath a hardened criminals skin lies insecure outcasts, many believe ... Show more content on

I hope I can make it across the border.I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the
Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope. Red s statement during the end of his
narration reinforces central roles of hope. This plays in Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank
Redemption. Finding Andy s letter came at the best momen possible, mainly due to Red s first
couple months of freedom after being paroled have been rough. Red s transition was difficult
and the struggles of finding a place in this society. He is in danger of violating terms of his
probation and intentionally returning to familiar surroundings of the Shawshank Prison. First
entering prison, multiple inmates hate losing control of their lives, but later miss the f control
once they are free. The ordered lifestyle offers routine and discipline while freedom, highly
treasured once before, becomes foreign, threatening and frightening. Women seemed to be
threatening to Red and his life, and his job felt unsatisfying. The request from Andy to join in
Mexico, gives Red that push and purpose in which he has been lacking. Even with Red s fears
that the waters of the Pacific will not be as blue as he has imagined, he realizes that there may be a
chance he won t be able to find Andy. But the friendship they have has infused Red with strength in
which he wouldn t usually

41. A Community Of Organisms With Their Environment
An ecosystem is a system formed by the interaction of a community of organisms with their
environment. Ecology is a branch of biology having to deal with the relations and interactions
between organisms, their environment, and other organisms. A community in an ecosystem is an
assemblage of interacting populations occupying a given area. A habitat is an area or environment
where an organism or an ecological community lives. There is a large diversity in an ecosystem, for
example, the species, environment, and the plantdiversity in the ecosystem. It s difficult to model
ecosystems because the model needs to be accurate and as well as precise.
In an ecosystem, organisms have many ways to get energy. One way is a producer, who makes
their own food. Only plants have this ability. Another way is being a consumer, who eats other
organisms for food and energy. An example of a consumer would be animals and humans. Lastly,
another way organisms can get food is being a decomposer, one who eats dead plants or animals.
Decomposers are mostly bacteria, fungus, or invertebrates. A food web is a series or organisms
related by predator prey and consumer resource interactions. It is entirety of irrelated food chains
in an ecological community. There is also a trophic level. A trophic level is any class of organisms
that occupy the same position in a food chain such a primary consumers, secondary consumers, and
tertiary consumers. An autotroph is an organism that is capable of making

42. 485 Deptford Case Report
On 5/12/17 at 19:08 hours I, SPO Ivey, was dispatched to 485 Deptford Ave for the report of a
verbal dispute. I responded priority 2. Upon my arrival, I made contact with the Lisa Formelio, the
victim, and William Britt, the accused, in the front of the residence. I separated both parties and
spoke with them separately to gain their verbal accounts of the dispute. I spoke with Lisa, who
stated that her and William had lived together in her apartment at 485 Deptford Way. Lisa advised
me that minutes prior to her calling 911, her and William got into a verbal argument concerning
William moving his items out of her apartment. Lisa stated that while they were arguing inside the
residence, William pushed her with two hands.

43. United States, U.s. V. Nixon
Not to be confused with Nixon v. United States, U.S. v. Nixon was a crucial case of the
Supreme Court during a time of political scandal. On the night of June 17th, 1972, five men
broke into the Democratic National Committee in an attempt to gain secrets that would help
Nixon win the re election. The men were found to be connected to Nixon himself. Upon being
caught, all hell broke loose for Nixon s presidency and there was no turning back. Upon further
investigation by Congress, Nixon was committing illegal acts other than that of burglary. It was
discovered that the tapes Nixon used to record his conversations in the Oval Office would be
beneficial in the sense that they contained all the proof needed to impeach the president. The
president argued that this damning information needed not be shared with the community and
was protected by his executive privileges. The entire situation became known as the Watergate
scandal and exploded in popularity with the help of the media. After it was all said and done, the
Supreme Court ruled that Nixon was being unconstitutional. This is undoubtedly true due to the
fact a president is supposed to help a country grow stronger, not tear it apart.
In November of 1968, Richard Nixon, a former vice president, gains the title of president
beating Hubert Humphrey in a strikingly close election. However, his presidency was soon met
with difficulty and scandal. By 1971, the Pentagon Papers had been leaked to the

44. The Displacement Analysis
The Displacement
In the first stage of the college tuition bubble, three events composed the Displacement required.
The first was a societal paradigm shift in how we view college and higher education. After the
discovery of both the benefits of higher education and the political value of advocating for it,
politicians, community leaders, and media, in general, all conveyed repeated social, political, and
cultural messages on the importance of college. Currently, seven in ten adults believe a college
education is very important and more than nine in ten thought it was at least fairly important. In
1978, only 36% thought of college as very important, demonstrating the massive rise in demand due
to increased messages in favor of higher education.

45. Persuasive Essay On International Human Trafficking
For many people, slavery system has been an outdated word that only seems to exist in the history
book. However, it is redefined in the modern society and replaced by a new term human trafficking
, which is a serious challenge to the human rights, involving almost every country in the world.
Besides, it is considered as the most evil and shameful crime in the human history. Every year, more
than millions of innocent kids, men, women are kidnapped and sold to the other countries, forced
to do prostitution, child soldiers or labors. However, limiting demand of this trafficked human
market can be an effective solution by raising awareness and establishing mature employment
standards.
Recent research clearly illustrates the international human trafficking is still in an escalating trend
and the predominant victims are female or girls who are robbed for sexual purpose. According to
the report by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC, 2006), sexual exploitation
contains 79% of all the forms of human trafficking crime. More specifically, in Europe, there are
more than 140,000 innocent women who are trapped into a violent situation and one seventh of
them are forced to involve into sexual activities. In general, those victims are suffering from
physical and mental abusing and can hardly escape from the control of criminals because most of
them are unfamiliar with the local language in the region and their passports have been taken away.
Meanwhile, human trafficking

47. What Is Wrong With Today s Team Building
The job of every IT manager is to find ways to use your IT manager skills to get the most
productive work out of your team. However, your team is made up of a group of very diverse
individuals they really don t have a lot to do with each other. What this means is that being an IT
manager is much more than just telling people what to do, it s convincing them to work together
to accomplish a goal. I don t believe that there is any IT manager training that can teach us how to
do this. Before you can make this happen, you re going to have to build a team...

If you are able to get the people who work for you to cooperate and work as a team, then you ll be
able to accomplish a lot more. It s creating this team that can be the real challenge...
A lot of what passes as IT team building today does not accomplish what it is intended to do:
build a team. There are a lot of different reasons for this but the most common ones are that the
team building that was done had nothing to do with what the company does or that it made the
people participating feel embarrassed. IT managers are finding new ways to engage their team
members in team building activities. These new methods tap into pop culture and are more likely
to draw all members of the time into the exercise.
As an IT manager you are not going to be effective if you don t have a team to manage. Trying to
manage a collection of individuals will be too hard and will consume too much of your time.
Instead, you need to take the time to find the right team building exercises that will cause your
collection of individuals to fuse into a smoothly working team. Yes, this will take time to do
correctly; however, it can be done and the results are well worth

48. Quantitative Analysis For Business Class Studying For Week...
The Learning Team A (LTA) in the Quantitative Analysis for Business class studying for Week
Four was both interesting and challenging for the team members. The members were comfortable
and uncomfortable with different and similar topics (steps in testing research hypothesis,
comparing means of two or more groups, and calculating the correlation between two variables).
LTA reflects back over the previous weeks studying and week s four topics. LTA member also
expresses and relates how the application is applied in his/her chosen field.
Previous Week s Reflection
Overall LTA discovered statistics consist of calculating everyday numerical data. Statistics consist
of classifying, analyzing, summarizing, organizing, and interpreting numerical data, according to
(McClave, Benson, Sincich, 2011, p. 3). The team also discovered the following from the authors
among other pertinent information: Descriptive statistics. Discovered how to use numerical and
graph methods. Inferential statistics. Discovered how to use sample data to make predictions,
estimates, decisions, and other generalization regarding a larger set of data. Fundamental elements
of statistics. (1) Experimental units, (2) Population (3) Variable, (4) Samples, and (5) Statistical
inference.
During week four, LTA discovered the steps involve in testing research hypothesis and how to
accomplish this task. The learning team discovered the importance and how to prove and disprove
three research questions. The

49. Weaknesses Of Practicum
One of the members overheard a conversation between me and my Program Supervisor about
how the Practicum experience is soon coming to an end. Because she only heard the tail end of
that conversation her interpretation was that I soon would leave the agency. She told me that my,
leaving would, make her very sad. Her face was very distraught. I had to convince her that the end
of this semester and my practicum, would not automatically meant me leaving the agency. Matter
of fact I doubt very much that I will leave the agency soon. Doing my practicum at an agency that
also employs me can have an educational but the negative side is that as a student I do not get to
familiarize myself with other facets in the field of Human Services. Having heard... Show more

I believe that there are several weaknesses that could be addressed. As it is now, the policy is that,
in order to become a member, the applicant must have a permanent residency within the County of
Waukesha. He or she must be at least be 18 of age and a diagnosed mental illness, only.
Unfortunately this policy also dictates that there are limitations for potential applicants. Waukesha
residency does not include staying in a local shelter, which is under the current statutes not
considered as a permanent living arrangement. One of the main reason is that by accepting
applicants from a shelter would change the dynamics in such matter that the focus of the program
would change and possible endanger the wellbeing and safety of the current members. Another
weak point are secondary disabilities, both physical and developmentally. Again reason is that the
focus of the program would change and secondly, staff is not trained properly to service members
with a developmental disability. Although I have argued for altering the current policies,
management stays strong in their convictions that any change would harm the program. It would
also mean that they have to hire more and qualified staff. As funds are coming from Transitional
Employment (TE SIDES) and payed through vendors like DVR. There would not be enough
money to pay for extra and qualified staff. Members with physical and developmental disabilities
cannot be placed at a TE site thus the program losses money and cannot function as is

50. Innate Evil In Lord Of The Flies By William Golding
In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of young British boys crash on a
deserted island. Throughout the story, there are three significant situations that demonstrate the
theme stating that civilization can mitigate but never wipe out the innate evil that exists within all
human beings. The three situations are the first pig hunt, the torture of Robert, and the attempted
murder of Ralph.
First of all, the hunt of the very first piglet is a demonstration of the boys civil habits that are still
engraved in them from their home lives. Ralph, Jack, and Simon are on their hunt for their first pig
on the island when they come across squealing sounds that lead them to their prey. After they stare
at the piglet for a while, they have the chance to kill it but Jack decides against it. Jack didn t want
to kill the piglet because of the enormity of the knife descending and cutting into live flesh;
because of the unbearable blood (Golding 29). Jack attempts to cover up his reasoning by
saying that he was thinking of a good spot to stab the pig, though Ralph and Simon knew why he
hadn t. The boys were still living in a civil society on the island as they had a leader, rules, and
they all got along for the most part, so the thought of killing a pig was terrifying and unrealistic
for Jack. Evidently, Jack is embarrassed in front of the boys because he did not kill their chance
at food. During a meeting later that day, the other boys are asking about the pigs on the island,
and Jack and Ralph are explaining why they couldn t kill it. Jack interrupts Ralph, and tells the
boys that the pig ran away Before I could kill it but next time (Golding 31)! Jack says this in an
aggressive tone as he is defending himself and proving he is more than capable to get them meat.
The boys have not yet adapted to a life filled with chaos and savagery, so they are still hesitant
about harming animals since they never had experienced anything like that back in England.
However, the boys attitudes towards bloodletting start to become more realistic as their lives on
the island progress to a life of evil. Furthermore, the torture of Robert showcases the transition from
good to evil and civilized to savagery in

51. Summary Of Similes By Armst Bryant
Bryant, an adolescence in the year 1811, wrote a poem that shows how he views the world, but
was he a protegee of philosophy or was he just following the hip new thing? Bryant uses
figurative language, a store of information and imagery that has only one purpose, to compare
two things to make a point. Similes and metaphors are most commonly used, although there are
alternative types of figurative language. Firstly, we will look at metaphors he uses in his poem,
secondly, the similes we are examined, and finally, I will explain how they further Bryant s
purposes for the poem. Bryant chisels figurative language into his poem, like a well seasoned
craftsman, chisels a long awaited for work of art. But to what purpose does he use it; why do we
have this poem? Bryant uses figurative language to comfort his reader and bids them to accept the
eventuality of their own death. Bryant almost immediately starts Thanatopsis with a metaphor that
introduces the reader to the themes of this poem. Metaphors are relating to unrelated things to
elaborate on a point. It takes an effort to find metaphors in poems because they are often on
abstract ideas. Bryant uses the metaphor, not to abstract, but to express an idea. Bryant uses the
image of a woman to symbolize Mother Earth. She has a voice of gladness, and a smile/ and
eloquence of beauty; and she glides/ into his darker musings, with a mild/ and healing sympathy
that steals away their sharpness ere he is aware... This metaphor
