Case Analysis Of Euro Disney
1. How do you characterize brand Disney in terms of its identity, culture, strengths and weaknesses?
ANS:
IDENTITY:
Disney provided quality entertainment, fun and a fantasy world immersed in imaginary world of
magic where people went and enjoyed.
They had Disney cartoon characters in the park for entertainment.
The cartoon character portrayed American culture and spread it in non American nation where ever
their park was situated.
CULTURE:
The culture of the French was not properly considered by Disney as they were absorbed in the
American culture.
The French preferred taking long time in dining and the restaurants even if they offered American
food was all take always, which the Americans preferred. There weren t any place to comfortably

The following are the reasons:
Euro Disney was set up not as a franchise, Walt Disney opted for direct investment in this case to
reap most of the profits, by reducing third party, unlike their other properties.
Euro Disney was able to set up by giving showcasing false competition to the government that after
setting up it will create job opportunities for 30,000 people.
The advertising and marketing strategies for the Euro Disney was same as that for the American
marketing as quality entertainment which mainly focused on fun and adventure. But the European
did not want to spend large amount of money just for fun and entertainment. They wanted the park
to be focusing some educational aspects as well.
American culture was imposed to the employees and the park infrastructure, like for employees
were following dress codes, not allowed to drink wine during lunch etc. and for the infrastructure
part the rides were named in English, the hotels served American dishes, no wine was allowed
inside, the hotels were take always which made the Europeans uncomfortable as they preferred

College Essay On Paying College Athletes
Paying College Athletes
Many people believe that college athletes should be paid for how much revenue they bring to their
school. However, there are also people who think they should not get paid because they already
have numerous advantages that other students do not have. Student athletes at the Division 1 level
that play men s basketball and football should not necessarily be paid a salary but should be able
to make money off of their accomplishments, especially if we hold them on a high pedestal as we
do now. It may seem unfair only to pay those who play men s basketball and football, but the
reason why these two sports are the most reasonable is that they bring in the most revenue for the
schools out of the major sports that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this, they say it would provide an unfair advantage to the other students if these
athletes get both a free education as well as get paid at the same time to play a sport (Yankah).
Others say that they are just kids and do not need that kind of financial pressure at such a young
age. Furthermore, athletes should not be paid because there just is not enough money in the
school, and there would be an uneven pay between sports based on general revenue (time). People
even say that if the NCAA were to pay athletes, it would take away from the importance of an
education and these players would not take their education seriously(lemmons). All these reasons
and much more support why college athletes should NOT be paid. However, there are just as
many points to argue why they should be paid. First of all, college athletes at the Division 1 level
spend more than 43.3 hours per week to his sport which is 3.3 more hours than the average
American work week (Edelman). Secondly, while the NCAA claims these athletes are just students,
the NCAA s tournament schedules require college athletes to miss classes for nationally televised
games that bring in revenue (Edelman). Thirdly, the play of teams and players can help bring in
more students to the school. For example, the year that Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie
won the Heisman Trophy as the nation s outstanding college football player, Boston College s

Titus Andronicus And Hamlet Essay
The purpose of this essay is to discuss, comment and explore the father child relations in
Shakespeare s plays Titus Andronicus and Hamlet. Both of these plays are traditional Senecan
tragedies (Cahn 1988:1) focusing on a central figure that tries to take revenge byusingactions that
prove to be more destructive than the ones that triggered the wish for vengeance in the first place,
and they cause the downfall of the avenger (Cahn 1988:1). Both plays imply the relationship
between father and children even though the period in which the actions are taking place are
different. Therefore, the familial values could differ, there are similarities in the way these fathers
are treating their children and the expectations they have from them. In both plays the relations
between the paternal figure and the children trigger the acts of revenge and the death of the heroes,
but the difference occurs when it comes to the person who takes revenge. Titus represents the
paternal authority (Kahn1997:48) and the ideal of a character during the Roman Empire: severity,...

He is disappointed in his son who instead of being interested in the business of running a court
(Cahn 1988:65) preferred school. Therefore, he doubts Hamlet s capacity to accomplish his request
of vengeance. By giving him this task, the father hopes to see a transformation from the
contemplative soul (Cahn 1988:64) into the man that Old Hamlet always wanted his son to be.
Hamlet embraces the occasion to avenge his father in order to compensate for a life during which
his actions were regarded as a failure by Old Hamlet. Even though Hamlet was not close to him, his
father s principles are important to him. The Ghost s persistency in his demands to be revenged
comes from the lack of trust he has towards his son and from his hope that Hamlet will take this
opportunity in order to be set on the right course (Cahn

Partition Of Antarctica
Committee on the Partition of Antarctica (CPA)
Partition of Antarctica
Australia
Antarctica, the southernmost continent and site of the South Pole, is a virtually uninhabited, ice
covered land mass. Since first being sighted during a Russian voyage in 1820, Antarctica has
remained completely devoid of civilian settlements for over a century due to its unwelcoming and
virtually inhospitable climate. At the time of its discovery 98% of the continent was blanketed by
dense continental ice sheets. Little has changed as time has passed, and with temperatures recorded
as low as negative 130 degrees Fahrenheit, winds up to 200 miles an hour, and an average
precipitation of only 6.5 inches annually, Antarcticaremains the harshest continent on Earth ...

The United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, and Norway recognize Australia s claim. Australia
first gained its claim as a part of the British Empire, and retained the claim when it gained
independence from the UK. Unfortunately, India and China have grown hungry for resources in the
region, especially in the Australian territory, the Australian government feels that the territory that it
has administered for over a century is being threatened. Following the disturbing drought Australia
faced between the years 2001 and 2012, Australia enjoyed nearly a decade of abundant
precipitation. A drought saw the end of the age of prosperity caused by this precipitation. The
drought, lasting until the late 2030 s, crippled the Australian economy, sharply cutting off
population growth, and forced Australia to become a major food importer, as many of its crops
failed. Though precipitation levels have returned to normal for now, but Australia fears another
drought is inevitable, and looks to strengthen its ability to continue to import food. Water rationing,
enforced during the drought, is extremely unpopular, and faces strong public opposition. The lack
of water and the consequent food shortages have sparked small pockets of hunger, but aid from
the UK and US have managed to curb any widespread starvation for now. The Australian claim on
Antarctica is exactly what the nation needs to continue its ability to import food without
unbalancing its export and import levels. The possible economic resources lying dormant in
Antarctica would be of great benefit to Australia, since the development and export of these
resources would ease the economic burden posed by importing a greater portion of its food.
Besides the resources hidden within the land, the waters surrounding Antarctica are especially
appealing to Australia, since the large schools of fish that are available for harvest would be under

Schedule Of A Class Schedule For Homework In School
Class Schedule:
Turn in homework
The children took this time of the day to use the bathroom and turn in their homework for the week.
Pledge
The pledge was said over the intercom and the whole class participated.
ST math
Math games on the computer
I walked around to help anyone who needed help
PE/music
The children go to PE or music
Teacher planning
I got to help the teacher decorate for Halloween in the hallway
I helped the teacher check homework and see who tuned it all in or not
Math skills
The children worried on a path packet and a skills paper
We then tought them a new math skill o I got to help the read the word problem and then explain
how they get the answer.
Two events:
Today we went to ST math before PE and I noticed something interesting. Most of the children
were on the same lesson and had the same trouble. They all were having trouble with less than,
equal to and more then. In the program there were blocks on each side and the child had to either
take some away or add some to make them equal. I helped mean children with this lesson and each
time I found new ways to help them. I showered a few ways with counting on my fingers and
others by connecting it to a math problem. They mostly all understood it better with the visual. This
was a good learning experience for me and showed me how differently the kids learn. Next time I
want to find different ways to explain how to do the lesson. I could maybe relate it to something
they know or draw some pictures.
I was also given the choice to lead the lesson on math skills. I chose to do it thinking it would be
good experience and help with my confidence. The lesson was on word problems and how to make
them into a math problem. I thought it was going to be easer then what it was. Teachinga child is
very different individually then when teaching a whole class. I learned a lot doing this and got a
lot of help from the teacher. One thing she told me was that the kids in the class had different
reading levels in it, so when reading the word problem with them so they know what the word are.
I was also having trouble explaining it and how to go about it all. The teacher helped me out a lot
with this. She

Educators And Their Influence Of Empathy
Educators and their Influence of Empathy in Students Merriam Webster defines empathy as the
feeling that you understand and share another person s experiences and emotions: the ability to
share someone else s feelings (Empathy, n.d.). Studies show that already one year old children
engage in situations in which an adult needed help to accomplish an action overcoming problems.
These results also show that infants readily provided help to adults in most conditions in which
they are able to interact. Additional studies suggest that children s prosocial behaviors become
more differentiated and less dependent on communicative cues with increasing age (Paulus et.al.,
2015, pg. 55). These situations are important in the development of empathyin children because it
allows the child to interact with others and begin the stages of empathy. Martin Hoffman s theory of
empathy includes information that cognitive development is directly related to the development of
empathy (Johansson, 2008, pg. 36). As children grow and interact with others, levels of empathy
become evident. Hoffman suggests that there are four levels of empathy in children:
Global empathy In the first year children may match the emotions they witness (e.g., by crying
when another infant is crying, but the emotion is involuntary and undifferentiated).
Egocentric empathy From the second year on children actively offer help. The kind of help offered
is what they themselves would find

The Role of the Puritan Church in the Salem Witch Trials The Salem Witch Trials were a time of
confusion, where half a dozen girl accusers threw the town of Salem on its head. The end result
was 19 hung and one crushed to death for failure to admit or deny witchcraft and 150 more were
imprisoned throughout the course of the trial (Hall p38). The Puritans came to the New World

Par.3). The social tension caused by the differing opinions on the separation of the village from
Salem Town strongly contradicted their religious ideals that they were all supposed to be as
one. The farming people in Salem Village thought that the thriving economy of the harbor in
Salem Town made it far to individualistic (Sutter Par.3). Samuel Parris has a long and eventful
history that shaped his views and actions while he was preaching in Salem Village. At the age of
20 Parris inharated his fathers sugar plantation in Barbados while he was attending Harvard
(Linder Parris Par1). The wealth that Parris had accumulated while in Barbados was sufficient
enough to support him and his new family when he moved to Boston (Par.2). Unhappy with his
life as a merchant Parris decided that it was time for a change in his vocation. In 1691 he began to
substitute for absent ministers and speaking at informal church gatherings (Par.3). After the birth
of his third child with his wife Elizabeth Eldridge, Parris began to have formal negotiations to
become the preacher for Salem Village (Par.3). The marriage of Parris and Eldridge linked him to

Essay about Senator Joseph R. McCarthy
Senator Joseph R. McCarthy Even though he had humble beginnings, Joseph Raymond McCarthy,
a single man, made a profound effect on the entire United States during his career. By following
his life and what shaped McCarthy as an individual, a broader picture is brought into the scope of
the cause of his false accusations. In the year 1908, in the northeast region of Wisconsinon a
struggling farm, a devout Roman Catholic couple brought a their son, Joseph Raymond, into the
world. The McCarthy s, an Irish American family, were hard working and industrious on their
farm in a rural area of Wisconsin. Joseph attended a one room schoolhouse as a boy. He was noted

For the next three years McCarthy worked in Appleton, Wisconsin at a private practice. At this
office, McCarthy made constant efforts to gain publicity for himself. Even though the town was
composed of a mere 3,000 people, McCarthy had more ambitions than just getting by in a one
horse town. McCarthy studied his fellow lawyers strategies in the court room and kept his office
open evenings to attract clients. (19, The Life and Times of Joe McCarthy) McCarthy was sure to
be at local events and join up with charities. McCarthy wanted attention and wanted to be noticed.
In 1936, McCarthy made his first venture into politics in a race for district attorney. He came in
second in this attempt; however, McCarthy ran for judge of the 10th circuit court in 1938. The
second time around, McCarthy threw himself into his campaign with a seemingly endless amount
of energy. In a state wide effort to boost his public appeal, McCarthy made speeches touting his
slogan Justice is Truth in Action. McCarthy won the election. However, once McCarthy attained
his position, he totally disregarded his responsibilities. He set a frantic pace that he maintained the
whole term, racing through cases and ignoring traditional procedures. Joseph was known to later
use the slogan Justice delayed is justice denied to support his fast pace. (35, The Life and Times of
Joe McCarthy) Finally, the Wisconsin Supreme Court heard about McCarthy

Summary Of The Adventure
The adventure began when we decided to leave on Thursday, September 22, 2016. The three of us
got up and took the bus to the Big Lots parking lot to get it prepared for the road. A little after 1pm
we were all prepared to depart Wilkes Barre, PA. The jeep was hooked up to the bus and we ran a
test drive to make sure all the parts are working as they should. Now it was time to say our fair
wells. My niece Taina did not make it any easier to depart. With responses such as you re not
leaving or I am going with you makes it harder to leave. Taina did not want us to leave, and as
much as it made her sad, it also made us sad. This was not good bye, more of a see you later as they
will come and visit. My sister had her sunglasses on so you could not see her eyes, nor could you
see if she was impacted by our departure. I KNOW THE TRUTH IZA!! LOL Off we went! While
on the highway we noticed someone in a black BMW with PA plates taking pictures of the bus.
At first it was nice to see that someone else enjoys the look of a beautiful vintage bus, but it s
because a little creepy. This man drove pass the bus and far ahead that his car was not
noticeable, pulled off to the shoulder of the highway to take more pictures or videos. He
stopped his car on the shoulder of the highway on a limb, as he would not know if we got off the
exit before or if we continued on the same highway. His chance taking paid off because we passed
him and noticed him to the right of us. Just as we passed

Reincarnation Is Not A Recent Problem
Reincarnation is one of the world s greatest mysteries in modern science. People still do not know
what is going on after the death, so the phenomenon of reincarnation cannot be explained correctly.
However, it is unusual to have memories from previous life, but stories about children who have
memories from their earlier lives make the idea of reincarnationreal. Studying of reincarnation may
help scientists to discover still unviewed corners of human soul. Nevertheless, it is very difficult to
apply rules of science to the mystery of reincarnation, scientists continue to research this topic and
make new conclusions about reincarnation.
The phenomenon of reincarnation is not a recent problem. The origins of the idea of reincarnation
seemingly date to the Iron Age, about 1200 years BC. Discussion of the topic appears in
philosophical traditions of ancient Greece and India starting from 6th century BC. In addition,
ancient Egypt culture and Celtic Druids have thoughts about reincarnation in their works (
Reincarnation: Ancient Beliefs ).
In western religions and traditions, classical Greek philosophy took important place and had
interesting facts about reincarnation. Among the ancient Greeks, phenomenon of reincarnation was
integral part of teaching. However, for the ancient Greeks, their beliefs were based on different
sources of myths that passed down through decades and generations, and had adjusted individual
preferences. In addition, different thoughts about

Significance Of Triple Entente
Before world war one, Europe was seeing great military advancements from Germany. This worried
France which led them to joining forces with Russia. Because of the alliance between France and
Russia, Germany retaliated by teaming up with the Austro Hungarian Empire. Then these countries
started to grow their military at a fast pace. This military growth frightened Britain, causing them to
join what would be known as the Triple Entente with France and Russia. This worried Germany
because now they were surrounded by what they would consider rival alliances (Cornish, par. 1 5).

Nurturing A Child s Natural Sexual Gender Analysis
Children are the greatest gift parent could ever experience and raising them to be productive
individuals is an important goal to most parents. A child s sexuality usually does not come into
question as the parent raises their children, parents naturally nurture their child based on their
natural sexual gender. Nurturing a child s natural sexual gender simply means raising that child
as a boy if the child is born with male genital or raising the child as a female if the child is born
with female genital. Although, the concept of nurturing a child s natural sexual gender seems
natural but not all parents agree. David Reimer was born a male child yet his parent raised him as

that will strengthen its customer relationship and also indirectly creating a community for the brand.
Price Strategies
Cost Based Pricing
The price of the bags are based on cost of goods sold and marketing conditions on setting the
price. This cost strategy will be used for the sport s series bag of M Series. On the current
market, selected brands offer shoe compartments and this products are priced higher than regular
bags. So, the company will price the bag with its cost of goods sold and marketing factors such as
the price of the competitors and the product value of the bag.
Psychological Pricing
Since the company s target market is students with low savings level. Student lifstyle bags will
be priced at Php 999 instead of Php 1,000, to create less in consumer s mind. Students perceived
prices exceeding the amount of Php 1,000 as expensive. So, the company will position the item
price in such a way that it will not be too expensive for its primary market but still profitable for
the company.
Bundle Pricing
Related products like wallets or pouch and bags will be combined and sold at a bundle price.
Pouches and wallets will be sold at 3 for 250 to reduced the item price and create a discount and

Rubber Concentrated Latex. These products are further used to produce other rubber products for
various applications such as tyres, gloves, insulations, tubes, etc. In Dakshina Kannada region,
Ribbed Smoked Sheet Air Dried Sheets are the commonly produced of the five types, and are

1.2.1.RUBBER SHEET MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
In the production of Ribbed Smoked Sheets and Air Dried Sheets, latex from the trees is carried
back to the rolling house for processing. In certain cases where the plantation is located far away
from the rolling house, ammonia is added to the latex to prevent early coagulation. Early
coagulation of rubber particles before the processing stage leads to the production of low grade
sheets and hence an economic loss. If ammonia is added to prevent early coagulation, then higher
amounts of acid are required during the coagulation stage. At the rolling house the latex is mixed
with water in a ratio of 2:1 to improve its consistency, and formic acid (5ml each tray) which helps
in coagulation. A mixture of 2 litres rubber

Hester Street American Dream Essay
Throughout U.S. history, immigrants have struggled to find a balance between the adoption of
American culture and the preservation of their native cultures. While many immigrants near the
turn of the 20th century desired full assimilation into American culture, like Jake from Joan Micklin
Silver s 1975 film Hester Street, many immigrants today maintain strong ties to their home
countries and native cultures. But, considering the recent increase in political and social discussion
surrounding the topic of immigration, the struggle to balance American and native customs has
intensified for many immigrants. While some tightly cling to their ethnic identities as a reminder
of their roots, others fear xenophobic sentiments or simply desire a new culture, more quickly
adopting an Americanized lifestyle. Whether open to assimilation or not, many immigrants, like
Jake, hope to attain the American Dream . A vision shared by millions of Americans, both
immigrants and native born, the American Dream represents the ability to work hard and achieve
success for oneself, regardless of status, wealth, race, or creed. This search for success in America
has happened for hundreds of years, and is literally the reason the nation was established. Overall,
there are countless ways for immigrants to find a balance in adopting American cultureand
achieving the American Dream, topics not only heavily dealt with in Hester Street, but also
relevant to the immigrants of today.

NS (the domain name system), provides the name service that is used across the internet. It is a
distributed, hierarchical name space, which makes use of partitioning, replication and caching,
to provide a very reliable service with fast access times. Partitions of it may be managed by

Red Meat Vs White Meat Research Paper
It is a controversial discussion over which meat is better: red or white meat? Both red and white
meat are good sources of protein and provide many beneficial nutrients that help with body function.
Protein is important in supporting the immune system and necessary for human consumption to
maintain a healthy balance. Many humans commonly consume meatas a source of protein. In
deciding what to consume, it is important to choose wisely to avoid risk of negative health effects.
Risk of various health issues can be increased through consumption of meats high in fat and
cholesterol. By exploring the comparison of nutritional and health aspects of red and white meat,
one can conclude that white meat is better for your overall health.

Unlike white meat, red meat is suggested to cause many health problems due to the higher
levels of saturated fat and cholesterol. These high amounts of cholesterol can increase risk of
the buildup of plaque. Red meat contains a compound called carnitine that is linked to the
clogging of the arteries. Red meat is associated with a increased risk of cardiovascular disease,
diabetes, and colorectal cancer. Red meat may also contain harmful hormones that increase risk
of breast cancer. Although the iron present is more easily absorbed, heme iron has been linked
to cancer. Red meat has even been linked to increased risk of death. According to a Harvard
Study conducted in March 2012, consuming a daily serving of processed meat increased death
risk by 20 percent...while a once per day serving of unprocessed red meat was tied to a 13
percent increase in overall mortality risk (Jaslow). Another issue is that when grilling, heterocylic
amines, compounds linked to cancer, are released. As stated, processed meat is unhealthier for
consumption. Pork often comes in the form of processed meat which is associated with increased
risk for cancer. An additional problem is the harboring of bacteria in meat. Cattle are often
associated with harboring E.coli which may lead to E. coli poisoning upon consumption. Studies
support the idea that red meat and processed meat may increase risk of developing type 2

The Global Flow Of Silver Trade
In the period between the mid sixteenth century to the early eighteenth century, the global flow of
silver had impacted the regions of the world through its value and perception in trade and society.
The utilization and production of silver caused many areas to change into societies that focused on
commerce and the abundance of goods. Similar to the social effects silvertrademade, it had also
made many positive economic impacts and changes resulting in the growth of world commerce and
wealth, while also making negative economic impacts because of its prominence in the world.
All the documents explained the social and economic effects of the silver trade from the views
of the English, Spanish, and Chinese and how it affects their own respective region. Since
Tokugawa Japan was a significant and active part in silver production from 1500 to 1750
alongside Spain, a source from a merchant from this region would help give insight to the effects
of the global flow of silver. A Japanese merchant who partakes in silver trade would further explain
if the trade was beneficiary to the region s social and economic status.
As the global flow of silver continues, societies started to change from their past ideals into
societies that centered on commerce, impacting people s lives greatly as seen in Documents 1, 3,
5, and 6. Document 1 is written by Ye Chunji, a Chinese county official during the Ming dynasty.

The Importance Of Endangered Species
Many species are becoming extinct due to environmental issues, pollution, and change in habitats.
When an animal becomes extinct, it means the last of their kind has died many of these beautiful
and ravishing animals that reside in the world may never be seen again. The endangered species
that are still living do not have much of a future if something is not done about it. Humans are not
the only ones on the planet and as the human population goes up another species has been wiped
out of existence humans can fix what they started. Endangered animals is a topic that is overlooked
and needs to be addressed it needs humans full attention because they are the ones that can truly
make a change.
Animals that are endangered will be categorized on a sort of chart to see how much of their
species still lives. Endangered animals acquire many levels of extinction: near threatened,
vulnerable, endangered, critically endangered, and extinct in the wild ( nat geo ). The
requirements for an animal to be endangered and on the Red List is decided by the Conservation
of Nature where a huge portion of its population has been wiped out (Bove). The list consists of
animals like grizzly bears, bald eagles, and gray wolves. The IUCN predicts that body size and
geographic range size are important predictors of extinction risk. The endangered animals on the list
still have hope of getting off that list and repopulate their species they just need the help from
humans also.

Moho Model Of MOHO
Introduction The Model of Human Occupation (MOHO) is a breakdown of how a person engages
in their daily activities from their disability or illness. It gives an occupational therapist a guide to
understand and specify the client s inadequacy of engagement. The clients thinking, feeling, and
doing are central to therapy and the model takes into account both mind and body. In MOHO the
environmentcan demand and offer opportunities for occupational performance (Ramafikeng, 2009).
This model helps the therapist to find reasoning through their client`s behaviors and be able to
promote health and recovery in their daily occupations. By looking into the client`s volition,
habituation, and performance capacity this specifies the therapist of their client`s abilities and
incapability s they have while engaging in an occupation. Then analyzing what environmental
contexts ables or disables the client`s behavior.
Person Environment Occupation
Volition is how a person is influenced and how they make their own choices while engaging in an
occupation. This guides a person to know what occupations they want to participate in. In MOHO
volition is broken down into three parts: interests, personal causation, and values. In the case of
Sam his volition is to be a better student to make his parents proud despite, the occupation (formal
education) he is having difficulty with. He finds interest in playing video games, games on the
computer, and one day being able to design video games. Sam

Common Causes Of World War I
Through two world wars, there have been many similarities and differences over the course of
this time. It is easy to discuss both wars and how it changed the world, but when comparing
common causes of the war the overall common factors are the imperialism and nationalism that
caused these devastating wars to take place, along with instability both economically and
politically all over the world right before the wars took place. There is so much background
history leading up to what started both tragic wars and it is important to highlight factors like the
economics and politics leading up to the war and the economic life and politics taking place
during both world wars along with the leaders that got these wars to go from a war between a
couple countries to a war affecting countries all over the world.
Even though this was not a cause of the war it is important to note that in both World War Iand in
World War II there were sides that were chosen. It was a battle of the Central Powers against the
Allies. The Central Powers were made up of Germany, the Ottoman Empire, and Austria. While the
Allies made up of Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the United States. In World War II the alliances

World War One was one of the deadliest conflicts in human history and it is best known as being
the war fought in the trenches. Living conditions in the trenches were horrible and soldiers often

Consequently, soldiers treated fresh boots as a luxury and therefore went to extreme lengths to
getting them. We have lost all sense of other considerations, because they are artificial. Only the
facts are real and important for us. And good boots are scarce . (All Quiet on the Western Front,

Advantages Of Guide Dogs
Within the past few years the availability of guide dogs in public places have been growing. For
instance, one could spot a guide dog along with its human partner easily in public. Guide dogs are
assistance dogs that are trained to lead typically blind people with everyday tasks. The idea of a
guide dogis essentially a human using their power to train a dog of a qualified guide dogbreed for
their own benefits. However, I feel that this is acceptable because throughout the process of
training the puppy for it to become a certified guide dog, the trainers do not use any cruel or
harmful methods that hurt the puppy, although these future guide dogs start learning good manners

Blood donation among humans is very common. Although blood donation is more common
among humans, there is also dog to dog blood donation, where a human can bring their dog to a
veterinarian to have their blood drawn to be donated to other needy dogs with the same blood
type group, especially during critical and life saving procedures (dogblooddonors.com). When
humans own a dog, they have power over the dog and can choose to donate their dog s blood. In
this case, the humans can choose to bring their dog to a veterinarian to be a canine blood donor.
After a dog donates their blood, a reward in the form of monetary value is given to the owner,
benefitting the owner (petfinder.com). Although the human is using their power over the dog
for their own benefit, other dogs actually benefit from this as well as the blood from the donor is
transfused to help dogs in need of blood. This is acceptable because in the process of the drawing
of the blood from the dog, the dog s life or health is not put at risk as blood drawing procedures for
dogs do not affect the dog at all as anaesthetic cream is used to prevent discomfort

sense at the time, but she realized that there was more to the story. The scientific knowledge we
have from Yellowstone was collected throughout many years of observation and trials, but it is not

The Cause Of The Three Causes Of Road Accidents
Causes of road accidents.
Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day, according
to the Association For Safe International Road Travel. Road accidents are practically dangerous
for everyone; they might cause serious injuries, severe damage and even be the reason why
someone s life is taken away from them. There can be several reasons why a car crashes.
Distracted driving, speeding, and drunk driving are the three main causes of car accidents.
The most significant cause of road crashes is the fact that people are often distracted while
driving. Each day in the United States, more than 9 people are killed and more than 1,153
people are injured in crashes that are reported to involve a distracted driver, reports the Centers
For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC). There is a range of many diversions however; a lot
of people find the temptation to resist replying to a phone call or text extremely difficult. Without a
doubt, this distraction is threatening since cell phones can get the drivers eyes away from the road,

A person is considered to be speeding when they drive at a speed that exceeds the speed limit. A
lot of people think that speeding saves them loads of time but in reality, it only increases the risk
for themselves and other drivers. Unfortunately, speeding causes the worst trauma when it comes to
car collision. Driving too fast limits the time passengers have to react to a crash therefore, the injury
is usually more extreme. Also, the greater the acceleration that causes a car crash the stronger the
force is on the body. As a result, many individuals suffer immensely from those types of
unfortunate incidents. If a driver is not worried about their own life, he should at least respect the
fact that there are many other drivers and passengers including kids on the same road that he might
seriously harm by driving so

Heidegger s Conception Of Meaning
Heidegger When we say sky, we are already thinking of the three along with it, but we give no
thought to the simple oneness of the four. A person builds because he is searching for something
or does not understand what it is. Therefore, in order to understand it a word or meaning is
given. As a result, this word can mean anything or others might perceive it as such with their
own will. The necessity to understand it lies with what we can create or is surrounding us. A
dwelling is a dwelling because we say is a dwelling. The meaning of dwelling is given to a
certain things, hence, it serves that purpose, but it can otherwise possess another. We seek words
to make everything simple to acknowledge that something is there in the first place. The language
and significance of things can go and new ones take their places, yet it would still possess the
same nature as before if associated with its original idea. Relations are formed to create thoughts...

Norberg Schulz, emphasised that without the connection to man or person it becomes a
misrepresentation. The connection towards what a person illustrates depends on the sources and
ideas they are willing to possess and invoke. The idea can be invoked, but without the reason and
meaning of the man to support it, it just becomes an idea or meaning. Like Heidegger said, to
understand it needs to have a meaning. Yet, that meaning is empty and meaningless without the
critical aspect of man, as Norberg Schulz tries to tell. A dwelling is a dwelling because the
person uses it to dwell thus it functions as such and the meaning of dwelling is supported.
Anything created will eventually have a presence or be recognized, but only if the man become
part of its creation. It either becomes a sense of expressive creation or keep the meaning or word as
given. When this happens the many meanings become Being that Heidegger was trying to

Essay on Euclid
Euclid Of Alexandria may be the best known mathematician of the world, he is best known for
his work on mathematics The Elements. The fact that his work has survived so long, 2000 years
in fact, is a tribute to his mathematical genius, however very little of him is known. Three theories
abound as to the true nature of this historical figure. Not all historians agree that Euclid was in fact
a historical figure, some argue that the school in Alexandria took up the name Euclid to publish
their works. But the more accepted theories are that Euclid was in fact a real historical figure who
may have been the leader of a team of mathematicians.

Although Euclid (or the school) may have not been first proved by him, (in fact much of his work
may have been based upon earlier writings,) he did manage to insert assumptions and definitions of
his own to strengthen the various postulates into the form we know today.
The Elements begins with the five postulates and their definitions, these postulates prove or define
the existence of points, lines and circles and from there on go to define other aspects of geometry
based upon the simpler concepts. The Elements consists of thirteen books. Some assumptions are
not totally provable, such that there is only one straight line between two points. Euclid makes
some assumptions that make his form of mathematics, Euclidean Geometry, sometimes at odds
with other forms. His fifth postulate, states that only one line can be made through a point parallel
to a given line, eventually, sometime during the 19th century this postulate was dropped in an
attempt to study non Euclidean geometries.
Euclid s assumptions about his postulates have set the groundwork for geometry today. He
provided society with definitions of a circle, a point, and line, etc and for 2000 was considered the
father of geometry. His postulates proved to be a framework from which mathematics was able to
grow and evolve, from two thousand years ago, till Newton and even to all our classrooms today.

More specifically, these two men created art and wrote about colonialismand what is perpetuated

Pontecorvo s stance on violence toward the colonizer is apparent he does not think it is
justifiable. By humanizing the colonizer, especially during the bombings, he is stating that we are
all broken people. Christianity recognizes human depravity, which is why people need God to

how both types of people, the colonizer and the colonized are capable of great evil, but both can be

Second, a successful person that I absolutely have to mention is Michael Clifford. He is famous

they would be referred to as swing. According to John Mello, a shuffle note is a practice in which
some notes with equal written time values are performed with unequal durations, usually as
alternating long and short. The tempo of dubstep is almost always in the range of 138 142 beats
per minute, with a clap or snare usually inserted every third beat in a bar. House music is an upbeat
and dance oriented style of music. This concert consisted of non stop dancing and everyone

or several times in a song. The music will be playing at a slow or medium speed and then all of

a live performance and usually make the crowed respond by dancing intensely. Electro house tracks
usually range from 5 to 6 minutes in length with a gradual build up beat which makes it easier to
synch the current song with the next song. The difference with electro house music and dubstep

Mesmer Magnetism Essay
According to German physician, Franz Anton Mesmer, the entire universe is connected by an
invisible thing know as animal magnetism. Mesmer believed that the entire human body was
filled with this magnetism and that it was carried through the body in a constant flow. Illnesses
occur as the result of the flow of magnetism becoming blocked off. Mesmer was able to cure his
patients through several appointments. Soon, high powered, influential members of society began

Mesmer to cure his patients he would sit opposite of them and would touch their finger and knees,
he would also look into the afflicted person s eyes (typically unmarried, rich, young ladies). After
several appointments with Mesmer the patients would experience a crisis and would be

Anne Sexton Her Kind
Throughout the Earth s vast history, women who have defied or who have simply not adhered to
society s standards have been literally and metaphorically burned at the stake. These kinds of
women have been ostracized, demonized, and called all kinds of names simply for not fitting a
uniform criterion. This exclusion of femaleoutcasts is what Anne Sexton focuses on in her poem
Her Kind. In it, she elaborates on the idea that society naturally shuns and persecutes all women that
are deemed undesirable or nonconforming. Put simply, in Anne Sexton s Her Kind, imagery,
repetition, and syntax reveal the author s theme on societal views regarding female identity.
First, imagery in Her Kind paints the speaker as a kind of unearthly, inhuman creature, ... Show

In the first stanza, commas are overwhelmingly present and cause silences to appear throughout
this whole stanza; for example, in line five, Sexton writes the following comma ridden line:
lonely thing, twelve fingered, out of mind (5). Due to the slow way the poem reads, the narrator
seems bored and or saddened by her isolation. Next, in the second stanza, though commas are
much more present, these serve their purpose in lists, and arguably speed up the poem; this is
most notably seen in lines 9 and 10 where Sexton writes the following: filled them with skillets,
carvings, shelves, / closets, silks, innumerable goods. This shows the narrator s building
cheerfulness and confidence in being herself. Finally, the syntax in the last stanza is that of
complete sentences, and serves to show the narrator s final resolve to be self assured in her
abnormality, revealed by the poem s last two lines: A woman like that is not ashamed to die. / I
have been her kind (20 21). Since the poem ends ironically with the narrator s death being the
moment she feels the most confident about herself, readers can only assume that this is Sexton s

Ethnic Conflict Of The Soviet Union
Ethnic Conflict
With a long stemming past of ethnic conflict within Yugoslavia, the country at long last
disassembled over what historians would argue was The bloodiest war in Europe since World War
II (Multi Ethnic Conflict: Yugoslavia.). Yugoslavia was a country composed of six republics The
socialist republic of Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, and Slovenia.
The country was created after world war one in 1929 and was under the control of the Soviet Union
up until 1991 when the Soviet Union broke apart. With the fall of the Soviet Union came the
inevitable turmoil, violence and destruction within Yugoslavia the country began to fall apart.
Ethnic conflict had been the root of war and violence through out numerous countries all around the
world for centuries. The ethnic conflict of Yugoslavia was caused by differences in religion and
ethnicity, different perspectives on government and politics, and disagreements over territory.
Yugoslavia was just far too small for the different nationalities and government structures within it.
Yugoslavia has long suffered with problems concerning religion and ethnicity. There was always a
back and fourth tension between the ethnic groups. During the 1930s it became apparent that the
ethnic groups were unwilling to blend and merge together. The Serbs who made up about 40 percent
of the population dominated politics. The Croats and Slovenes resented Serbian aggressiveness.
These ethnic groups lived an

Hip Hop And The Aesthetics Of Criminalization Analysis
Hip hop has been and still is a huge influence on pop culture. It sets the theme, tone and even
style for the younger generation and the pop culture side helps you know which artists are in
right now and which are not. Hip hop dates back to the 1970s created in the South Bronx but it
only really became popular in the 1990s. According to the article Hip Hop and the Aesthetics of
Criminalization by Andrea Queeley in it states that hip hop was meant to express the Black and
Latino experiences of urban poverty but ended up hurting those races because it soon turned into
perpetuating racist stereotypes and racial discourse. Personally I feel that at one point in time there
were messages of positivity or takeaways in general about life and that

Thomas Gage And His Impact On The Revolutionary War Essay
Thomas Gage and His Impact on the Revolutionary War
Matt Thompson
Mountain View High School Back in 1774 Thomas Gage had a job that no one would envy. He
would be tasked with stemming the tide of a rebellion in the colonies of North America. Many
considered him the protagonist of the English cause in the Revolutionary war. Tensions were rising
and Gage had just been appointed Military Governor of Massachusetts. With this title, he would
effectively be the most powerful British official in the 13 Colonies. Gage had control over military,
political, and diplomatic decisions (Britannica, 2015). When relations turned sour between the
American colonies and their mother country, people looked to Gage to make it right. Gage was
unable to take the necessary actions to prevent the war and ended up being a driving factor in the
American Revolution. In the beginning of Gage s time serving in the military and the start of his
tenure as Military Governor he was fairly well liked. Gage had fought in the French and Indian
War after fighting a handful of battles in Europe. He joined the military in 1741 and came to
America in 1754 (Walsh, 2013). As he served his country he began to move his way up the ranks
of the British Army. It was in 1763 that he reached the precipice of his military career, becoming
Commander in Chief of all British forces in North America. Just a few years after being appointed
Governor of Montreal, he was now the most important and influential man

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bottled Water Is Better...
Your whole life has been a lie. Commercials, parents, friends, and even some of your teachers have
told you that bottled water is better than tap. Well bottle your emotions and listen to what i have to
say. One can argue that bottled water is better than tap but their argument will not be as strong or
convincing as mine will be to do the opposite, to convince you that tap water is better than bottled
water. The discussion has been around for a while now and we all know that tap water is more
beneficial than bottled water. First off, tap water is more regulated and checked than bottled water
is making it safer than bottled water. Tap water is also nowhere near as expensive as bottled water
is and it s better for the environment too. Lastly,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2013 the average cost for tap water was $2 per every thousand gallons. While bottled was
$1.21 for every gallon alone. Here is another way to look at it, if you buy a $1 bottled water
everyday for a year, you end up spending $365 on water that most likely is from a tap source
(Livingston). Why spend $365 annually on bottled water when you can just use your own faucet
or the nearest water fountain? People spend so much money on bottled water that could be used
for water charities across the world to help people who don t have access to a clean water supply.
This would call for everyone who does have access to a clean tap water source, to use it and take
the money that they would rather spend on a bottle and put it towards a greater cause. By
choosing to drink tap water you save money daily, weekly, monthly, and annually so before you
pay $2.14 for that bottle of purified water remember you have the same, if not better, quality water
at your house.
Another thing about tap water that is overlooked is how often we use it in our everyday lives.
On average, an American family uses 300 gallons of water everyday. Now there is no way one
family can drink 300 gallons of water in one day so how do they use that much? The answer is
because tap water has multiple uses other than just being drinking water. Everyday when you take a
shower, brush your teeth, flush the toilet, wash the dishes,

Sustainability Of Interment
Literature Review
So as to better prepare and accommodate for future demands in the funerary sector, this literature
review has been conducted as a means to consolidate information on necrogeography, its associated
fields, and interment processes which for the purposes of this essay will be defined as any method
by which people dispose of their dead, while interment grounds will be defined as the resting place
of human remains. The following overview is to provide sufficient context of the influences on, and
the effects of, the American funerary industry.

Depending on the cultural landscape surrounding a place of interment, mourners may handle the
arrival of unorthodox disposal methods in a negative fashion (Seong Lee, Young Kim, Choi, 2014,
p. 534), since they act as an emotional landscape (Woodthorpe, 2011, p. 264). Woodthorpe claims
that this emotional landscape of the dead must also compete against the commercial and communal
implications of a place of interment. In the case of CLCC s Open Day, conflict ensued between the
visitors attending the site for education and recreation and those of the bereaved consumer who had
purchased aspects of the cemetery service (2011, p. 268). This clash between the sustainability of
the interment grounds themselves and the delicate nature of these sites raises questions of how to
generate income and promote a cemetery, while also ensuring it is amenable to the bereaved visitor

Symbolism In Edgar Allen Poe s The Tell Tale Heart
The author Edgar Allen Poe creates a story called The Tell Tale Heart about a man who creeps
into this old man s room for 8 days and is convinced that the man vexed him with his eye. The old
man s eye which he refers to as the vulture eye is a symbol. Poe uses symbolism and setting in the
story to show how the narrator is like and about his mental condition. Through the use of
symbolism, setting, and characterization. The author of the The Tell Tale Heart hows that the
narrator is mad and unreliable. Through the use of symbolism Poe spied on the old man to look at
the eyethat vexed him, which he called the vulture eye. A symbol for eye is a window to the soul,
which shows the narrator is looking into his soul and his bothered by it.
And this I did for seven long nights every night just at midnight but I found the eye always
closed; and so it is impossible to do the work; for it is not the old man who vexed me, but his Evil
Eye (1). He watched the old man and described details though most of them might not have been
accurate. Poe is intelligent to refer the eye as symbolism and use symbolism throughout the story. I
think that poe is very intelligent enough to use symbolism in the essay
Poe uses characterization to create a reliable character. Villains! I shrieked dissemble no more I

How Birth Of A Nation Reinforced Antebellum Stereotypes...
How Birth of a Nation reinforced Antebellum Stereotypes about African Americans
In the early 1900s, the movie industry in America developed the atmosphere filled with racial and
political medium, which later became a propaganda tool for selling of brute caricature. Many will
recognize the films titled Birth of a Nation by D.W. Griffith, which was very historical since its
technological innovation embraced or portrayed all the anti Black caricatures, and other brutes.
Sing Griffin was a Kentuckian, and someone who believed in the Southern values, he was sure,
everything were embodied in The Clansman, a sentimental novel of Reconstruction that earlier
appeared in 1905 and was very dramatic in the entire South. It was a dedication to his ... Show more

This research paper attempts to help understand the manner in which The Birth of a Nation
reinforced Antebellum Stereotypes about African Americans.
All through the considered silent period, Blacks in film were typically pigeonholed as toms or
coons. Nonetheless, the savage still showed up, particularly in the uncommon, in movies of all
colored cast . These movies were aimed at portraying women as lesser beings because they could
be used as dancers or sex tools in the Antebellum South, or in present day Harlem. Extensive
consideration has been given to the commonness and diligence of generalizations of the blacks in
America (Bates 661). Yet one of these recognized generalizations or stereotyping, the abysmal
mulatto, has gotten quick consideration from researchers and social pundits of film and pop
culture in the United States. The Birth of a Nation portrays a society that is truly bent in keeping
up the rigid social limits, this exclusion is very tricky. It is true that most films during this period,
tried to dissect the film s political capacities and sociological effect as far as race, sex, and class is
concerned.

The Los Angeles Riots Essays
The Los Angeles Riots
Though sparked by the Rodney King verdict, there were many other causes of the riots that
erupted on the streets of Los Angeles on April 29, 1992. The Los Angeles riots in 1992 were
devastating. The obvious issue portrayed through the media was black versus white. If you did
not live in Los Angeles or California chances are you did not hear full coverage of the story, you
heard a simple cut and dry portrayal of the events in South Central. If you heard one thing about the
riots, it was that there was a man named Rodney King and he was a black male beaten with
excessive force by four white Los Angeles police officers on Los Angeles concrete. The media
portrayed the riots as black rage on the streets due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The McCone Commission found that poverty, racial divisions and other social conditions helped
trigger the violence (Pope). However, after the commissions report, interest in the Watts riots
faded and adequate action was not taken to address these issues in the affected areas. At the
conclusion of its investigation, the McCone Commission cited that so serious and so explosive is
the situation that, unless it is unchecked, the August riots may seem by comparison to be only a
curtain raiser for what could blow up one day in the future (Pope). Although the city has changed
in those years since the Watts riots, unfortunately, much has remained the same. This confession
by the McCone Commission proved to be prophetical. The Watts riots left 34 dead and 600
buildings damaged or destroyed. The 92 riots caused 52 fatalities, and more than 1,200 buildings
were damaged or destroyed. An anonymous man from Hollywood made a similar statement in 92
after the riots. He stated, the verdict was just the spark this (the riots) had been set for years before
(Smith).
The city of Los Angeles is not a unified city. Los Angeles consists of too many large sub cities or

many of these sub cities themselves are not unified. Due to their size, all

Examine how one theory of emotion may affect one cognitive...
One theory of how emotion affects the cognitive process of memory is by a process known as a
Flashbulb Memory. The theory is that these Flashbulb Memories will not only enhance the
memory itself, but will make certain aspects of the memory more vivid and detailed. First, the
Flashbulb Memory should be defined. Flashbulb memories are emotional memories that are
remembered with great vivid detail and are almost photo like. For example, if someone were to
experience a horrid natural disaster, they would most likely remember the situation more vividly
than people not actually there. This instance is exactly what Brown and Kulik were trying to show
in 1977, and what Conway was trying to express in 1994. They were dealing with the concept of...

Like the experiment done by Conway et al, Neisser and Harsch investigated people s memory
accuracy of the incident 24 hours after the explosion and then again two years after. The results
were: one day after the disaster, 215 of the participants said that they heard about the disaster on
television. Two and a half years later 45% of the participants claimed to have heard of the event on
the television. Their memories of how they learned the news about the challenger disaster changed
over time and was a huge loophole in the studies in favor of flashbulb memory. Through this study
it can be concluded that flashbulb memories are not reliable and may in fact just be ordinary
memories.
From Brown and Kulik to Neisser and Harsch we arrive at completely different conclusions. There
are many strengths to these studies, as they were all with real events that would have affected
people emotionally, but some of the studies were lacking in validity. The studies that recorded
before and after seemed to be more compelling than the ones that just assumed a certain answer.
However, the longer the duration of time between the before and after results most likely produced
more variables being tested, rather than just one. Based on the studies outlined it only seems
accurate that these flashbulb memories actually exist and affect our memory. The real analysis of
these findings are how they actually influence behavior. Emotion can affect memory, and ultimately
behavior in someone s life.

People need to use obese children s emotional problems as a way to help the child lose weight.
Obese children struggle with making friends and keeping up with other children, however, people

Field Artillery History
In the Army customs and courtesies, as well as traditions, can be traced back through time and
linked to a certain place in history; this also applies to many of the tactics, techniques, and
procedures in place today. The battle of La Drang took place during the Vietnam War, where many
changes took place to adapt to the foreign battlefield. It is a battle that very easily highlights the
changes the Army has made in its utilization and techniques for integrating the field artillerywith
maneuver elements. It displays the adjustment made a command and control level, by
decentralizing the firing batteries from the field artillery battalion, as well as the changes to how
soldiers on the ground made use of indirect fires.

Letter From Birmingham Jail Act
In April 1963, the city of Birmingham, Alabama, was caught in the midst of massive civil rights
protests. Protestors advocating for desegregation brought the city to a halt with widespread
disruptive yet peaceful protests. After a circuit court placed an injunction against protesting,
parading and picketing King was arrested for his involvement. While in jail King received a letter
written by eight Alabama clergymen criticizing King for his disruptive protests and the breaking of
laws which lead to his arrest. In response King wrote an open letter explaining his actions that
would be known as Letter from Birmingham Jail. In his letter Dr. King effectively addresses an
unsympathetic audience by focusing on building his credibility rather than seeking an emotional
response.
The largest challenge Dr. King faced in writing his response was that his audience did not respect
him. As a result of the laws he devoted himself to protest, Dr. King was a second class citizen. To
the white clergymen he was addressing he was both socially and legally inferior. The feeling of
supremacy that the clergymen, and many other whites, had toward blacks at the time made them
largely unsympathetic to their plight. To avoid appearing pitiful or even pathetic he maintains a
calm and authoritative tone. Even though the clergymen were harshly critical of his activities and
methods King responds in a collected manner I feel that [...] your criticisms are sincerely set forth,

Nighthawks Communication Analysis

something one draws attention to it, this emphasis is a principle in art. Another principle similar to
emphasis is focal point, which highlights certain part of an artwork. Subordination draws this
attention away, these principles: emphasis, focal point, and subordination define an artwork s
design and its artist sentiment. Artist, Edward Hopper, and his paintingNighthawks, support the
increment of these principles within the painting. The utilization of emphasis, focal point, and
subordination create a fascination to the eye to define the artwork and its significance. In the

Phytonutrients (Lycopene)
Abstract
Phytonutrients are manufactured in pants where they are in turn utilized by humans to avoid
various health issues. The production of these chemicals is often prevalent among plants such as
vegetables and fruits. Phytonutrients may be classified into Terpenoids, Alkaloids and Phenolic
depending on the chemical structure, phytonutrients are categories into different classes which
include; Resveratrol, Epicatechin, Lycopene, and Lutein. Lycopene may be referred to as a bright
red, fat soluble phytonutrient that is often found in tomatoes and other fruits with red pigmentation.
Lycopene is also fundamental to the growth and development of plants as it plays an essential role
in the biosynthesis of various types of carotenoids. The chemical compound does this by
interrupting any signals that are likely to prolong or promote the generation of cancerous tumors.
Lycopene can limit or slow down the growth of prostate and breast cancer. This paper is aimed at
highlighting the benefits of Lycopene to both plants as well as humans in general.
Introduction
Also referred to as phytochemicals, phytonutrients include a range of chemicals, usually produced
by plants that are believed to have health benefits for both plant and animal species. Plants often
utilize these phytonutrients to promote their health in their growth and development. Some of the
benefits that plants are likely to derive from such chemicals include

  • 3. Case Analysis Of Euro Disney 1. How do you characterize brand Disney in terms of its identity, culture, strengths and weaknesses? ANS: IDENTITY: Disney provided quality entertainment, fun and a fantasy world immersed in imaginary world of magic where people went and enjoyed. They had Disney cartoon characters in the park for entertainment. The cartoon character portrayed American culture and spread it in non American nation where ever their park was situated. CULTURE: The culture of the French was not properly considered by Disney as they were absorbed in the American culture. The French preferred taking long time in dining and the restaurants even if they offered American food was all take always, which the Americans preferred. The following are the reasons: Euro Disney was set up not as a franchise, Walt Disney opted for direct investment in this case to reap most of the profits, by reducing third party, unlike their other properties. Euro Disney was able to set up by giving showcasing false competition to the government that after setting up it will create job opportunities for 30,000 people. The advertising and marketing strategies for the Euro Disney was same as that for the American marketing as quality entertainment which mainly focused on fun and adventure. But the European did not want to spend large amount of money just for fun and entertainment. They wanted the park to be focusing some educational aspects as well. American culture was imposed to the employees and the park infrastructure, like for employees were following dress codes, not allowed to drink wine during lunch etc. and for the infrastructure part the rides were named in English, the hotels served American dishes, no wine was allowed inside, the hotels were take always which made the Europeans uncomfortable as they preferred spending long hours for having ... • 4. College Essay On Paying College Athletes Paying College Athletes Many people believe that college athletes should be paid for how much revenue they bring to their school. However, there are also people who think they should not get paid because they already have numerous advantages that other students do not have. Student athletes at the Division 1 level that play men s basketball and football should not necessarily be paid a salary but should be able to make money off of their accomplishments, especially if we hold them on a high pedestal as we do now. It may seem unfair only to pay those who play men s basketball and football, but the reason why these two sports are the most reasonable is that they bring in the most revenue for the schools out of the major sports that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of this, they say it would provide an unfair advantage to the other students if these athletes get both a free education as well as get paid at the same time to play a sport (Yankah). Others say that they are just kids and do not need that kind of financial pressure at such a young age. Furthermore, athletes should not be paid because there just is not enough money in the school, and there would be an uneven pay between sports based on general revenue (time). People even say that if the NCAA were to pay athletes, it would take away from the importance of an education and these players would not take their education seriously(lemmons). All these reasons and much more support why college athletes should NOT be paid. However, there are just as many points to argue why they should be paid. First of all, college athletes at the Division 1 level spend more than 43.3 hours per week to his sport which is 3.3 more hours than the average American work week (Edelman). Secondly, while the NCAA claims these athletes are just students, the NCAA s tournament schedules require college athletes to miss classes for nationally televised games that bring in revenue (Edelman). Thirdly, the play of teams and players can help bring in more students to the school. For example, the year that Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie won the Heisman Trophy as the nation s outstanding college football player, Boston College s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Titus Andronicus And Hamlet Essay The purpose of this essay is to discuss, comment and explore the father child relations in Shakespeare s plays Titus Andronicus and Hamlet. Both of these plays are traditional Senecan tragedies (Cahn 1988:1) focusing on a central figure that tries to take revenge byusingactions that prove to be more destructive than the ones that triggered the wish for vengeance in the first place, and they cause the downfall of the avenger (Cahn 1988:1). Both plays imply the relationship between father and children even though the period in which the actions are taking place are different. Therefore, the familial values could differ, there are similarities in the way these fathers are treating their children and the expectations they have from them. In both plays the relations between the paternal figure and the children trigger the acts of revenge and the death of the heroes, but the difference occurs when it comes to the person who takes revenge. Titus represents the paternal authority (Kahn1997:48) and the ideal of a character during the Roman Empire: severity,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He is disappointed in his son who instead of being interested in the business of running a court (Cahn 1988:65) preferred school. Therefore, he doubts Hamlet s capacity to accomplish his request of vengeance. By giving him this task, the father hopes to see a transformation from the contemplative soul (Cahn 1988:64) into the man that Old Hamlet always wanted his son to be. Hamlet embraces the occasion to avenge his father in order to compensate for a life during which his actions were regarded as a failure by Old Hamlet. Even though Hamlet was not close to him, his father s principles are important to him. The Ghost s persistency in his demands to be revenged comes from the lack of trust he has towards his son and from his hope that Hamlet will take this opportunity in order to be set on the right course (Cahn ... • 6. Partition Of Antarctica Committee on the Partition of Antarctica (CPA) Partition of Antarctica Australia Antarctica, the southernmost continent and site of the South Pole, is a virtually uninhabited, ice covered land mass. Since first being sighted during a Russian voyage in 1820, Antarctica has remained completely devoid of civilian settlements for over a century due to its unwelcoming and virtually inhospitable climate. At the time of its discovery 98% of the continent was blanketed by dense continental ice sheets. Little has changed as time has passed, and with temperatures recorded as low as negative 130 degrees Fahrenheit, winds up to 200 miles an hour, and an average precipitation of only 6.5 inches annually, Antarcticaremains the harshest continent on Earth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, and Norway recognize Australia s claim. Australia first gained its claim as a part of the British Empire, and retained the claim when it gained independence from the UK. Unfortunately, India and China have grown hungry for resources in the region, especially in the Australian territory, the Australian government feels that the territory that it has administered for over a century is being threatened. Following the disturbing drought Australia faced between the years 2001 and 2012, Australia enjoyed nearly a decade of abundant precipitation. A drought saw the end of the age of prosperity caused by this precipitation. The drought, lasting until the late 2030 s, crippled the Australian economy, sharply cutting off population growth, and forced Australia to become a major food importer, as many of its crops failed. Though precipitation levels have returned to normal for now, but Australia fears another drought is inevitable, and looks to strengthen its ability to continue to import food. Water rationing, enforced during the drought, is extremely unpopular, and faces strong public opposition. The lack of water and the consequent food shortages have sparked small pockets of hunger, but aid from the UK and US have managed to curb any widespread starvation for now. The Australian claim on Antarctica is exactly what the nation needs to continue its ability to import food without unbalancing its export and import levels. The possible economic resources lying dormant in Antarctica would be of great benefit to Australia, since the development and export of these resources would ease the economic burden posed by importing a greater portion of its food. Besides the resources hidden within the land, the waters surrounding Antarctica are especially appealing to Australia, since the large schools of fish that are available for harvest would be under Australian ... Two events: Today we went to ST math before PE and I noticed something interesting. Most of the children were on the same lesson and had the same trouble. They all were having trouble with less than, equal to and more then. In the program there were blocks on each side and the child had to either take some away or add some to make them equal. I helped mean children with this lesson and each time I found new ways to help them. I showered a few ways with counting on my fingers and others by connecting it to a math problem. They mostly all understood it better with the visual. This was a good learning experience for me and showed me how differently the kids learn. Next time I want to find different ways to explain how to do the lesson. I could maybe relate it to something they know or draw some pictures. I was also given the choice to lead the lesson on math skills. I chose to do it thinking it would be good experience and help with my confidence. The lesson was on word problems and how to make them into a math problem. I thought it was going to be easer then what it was. Teachinga child is very different individually then when teaching a whole class. I learned a lot doing this and got a lot of help from the teacher. One thing she told me was that the kids in the class had different reading levels in it, so when reading the word problem with them so they know what the word are. I was also having trouble explaining it and how to go about it all. The teacher helped me out a lot with this. She

  • 9. Educators And Their Influence Of Empathy Educators and their Influence of Empathy in Students Merriam Webster defines empathy as the feeling that you understand and share another person s experiences and emotions: the ability to share someone else s feelings (Empathy, n.d.). Studies show that already one year old children engage in situations in which an adult needed help to accomplish an action overcoming problems. These results also show that infants readily provided help to adults in most conditions in which they are able to interact. Additional studies suggest that children s prosocial behaviors become more differentiated and less dependent on communicative cues with increasing age (Paulus et.al., 2015, pg. 55). These situations are important in the development of empathyin children because it allows the child to interact with others and begin the stages of empathy. Martin Hoffman s theory of empathy includes information that cognitive development is directly related to the development of empathy (Johansson, 2008, pg. 36). As children grow and interact with others, levels of empathy become evident. Hoffman suggests that there are four levels of empathy in children: Global empathy In the first year children may match the emotions they witness (e.g., by crying when another infant is crying, but the emotion is involuntary and undifferentiated). Egocentric empathy From the second year on children actively offer help. The kind of help offered is what they themselves would find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The residents of Salem were after all, Puritans, which means they viewed their community not just as a group of individuals, but as a single entity united under God (Possible Causes... Par.3). The social tension caused by the differing opinions on the separation of the village from Salem Town strongly contradicted their religious ideals that they were all supposed to be as one. The farming people in Salem Village thought that the thriving economy of the harbor in Salem Town made it far to individualistic (Sutter Par.3). Samuel Parris has a long and eventful history that shaped his views and actions while he was preaching in Salem Village. At the age of 20 Parris inharated his fathers sugar plantation in Barbados while he was attending Harvard (Linder Parris Par1). The wealth that Parris had accumulated while in Barbados was sufficient enough to support him and his new family when he moved to Boston (Par.2). Unhappy with his life as a merchant Parris decided that it was time for a change in his vocation. In 1691 he began to substitute for absent ministers and speaking at informal church gatherings (Par.3). McCarthy Even though he had humble beginnings, Joseph Raymond McCarthy, a single man, made a profound effect on the entire United States during his career. By following his life and what shaped McCarthy as an individual, a broader picture is brought into the scope of the cause of his false accusations. In the year 1908, in the northeast region of Wisconsinon a struggling farm, a devout Roman Catholic couple brought a their son, Joseph Raymond, into the world. The three of us got up and took the bus to the Big Lots parking lot to get it prepared for the road. A little after 1pm we were all prepared to depart Wilkes Barre, PA. The jeep was hooked up to the bus and we ran a test drive to make sure all the parts are working as they should. Now it was time to say our fair wells. While on the highway we noticed someone in a black BMW with PA plates taking pictures of the bus. At first it was nice to see that someone else enjoys the look of a beautiful vintage bus, but it s because a little creepy. This man drove pass the bus and far ahead that his car was not noticeable, pulled off to the shoulder of the highway to take more pictures or videos. While many immigrants near the turn of the 20th century desired full assimilation into American culture, like Jake from Joan Micklin Silver s 1975 film Hester Street, many immigrants today maintain strong ties to their home countries and native cultures. But, considering the recent increase in political and social discussion surrounding the topic of immigration, the struggle to balance American and native customs has intensified for many immigrants. While some tightly cling to their ethnic identities as a reminder of their roots, others fear xenophobic sentiments or simply desire a new culture, more quickly adopting an Americanized lifestyle. Whether open to assimilation or not, many immigrants, like Jake, hope to attain the American Dream . A vision shared by millions of Americans, both immigrants and native born, the American Dream represents the ability to work hard and achieve success for oneself, regardless of status, wealth, race, or creed. Index Terms Communication systems Computer Networks Domain Name System. I.INTRODUCTION D NS (the domain name system), provides the name service that is used across the internet. It is a distributed, hierarchical name space, which makes use of partitioning, replication and caching, to provide a very reliable service with fast access times. Partitions of it may be managed by separate authorities, allowing local control for more flexibility. The aim of DNS is to enable resources (e.g. computers, mail services, and DNS servers) to be given names that can be used globally across all connected systems, and to enable resolution of names into the associated attribute: resolution of URIs (uniform resource identifiers) into IP addresses for use with http, or ftp protocols, and to locate the mail servers for a domain. It gives an occupational therapist a guide to understand and specify the client s inadequacy of engagement. The clients thinking, feeling, and doing are central to therapy and the model takes into account both mind and body. In MOHO the environmentcan demand and offer opportunities for occupational performance (Ramafikeng, 2009). This model helps the therapist to find reasoning through their client`s behaviors and be able to promote health and recovery in their daily occupations. A person builds because he is searching for something or does not understand what it is. Therefore, in order to understand it a word or meaning is given. As a result, this word can mean anything or others might perceive it as such with their own will. The necessity to understand it lies with what we can create or is surrounding us. A dwelling is a dwelling because we say is a dwelling. The meaning of dwelling is given to a certain things, hence, it serves that purpose, but it can otherwise possess another. We seek words to make everything simple to acknowledge that something is there in the first place. The language and significance of things can go and new ones take their places, yet it would still possess the same nature as before if associated with its original idea. Although Euclid (or the school) may have not been first proved by him, (in fact much of his work may have been based upon earlier writings,) he did manage to insert assumptions and definitions of his own to strengthen the various postulates into the form we know today. The Elements begins with the five postulates and their definitions, these postulates prove or define the existence of points, lines and circles and from there on go to define other aspects of geometry based upon the simpler concepts. The Elements consists of thirteen books. Some assumptions are not totally provable, such that there is only one straight line between two points. Euclid makes some assumptions that make his form of mathematics, Euclidean Geometry, sometimes at odds with other forms. His fifth postulate, states that only one line can be made through a point parallel to a given line, eventually, sometime during the 19th century this postulate was dropped in an attempt to study non Euclidean geometries. Euclid s assumptions about his postulates have set the groundwork for geometry today. He provided society with definitions of a circle, a point, and line, etc and for 2000 was considered the father of geometry. Pontecorvo was a Catholic film maker from Italy while Fanon hailed from Martinique and practiced psychiatry, philosophy and wrote about post colonialist theory. Even though these men seemed completely different, they both believed that violence, was not the answer to solving problems. More specifically, these two men created art and wrote about colonialismand what is perpetuated because of it. Pontecorvo created the Battle of Algiers not too long after the end of the Algerian War , which ended in 1962, with Algerian independence from France. This is Pontecorvo s subtle way of stating that not all colonizers are the same. Pontecorvo s stance on violence toward the colonizer is apparent he does not think it is justifiable. By humanizing the colonizer, especially during the bombings, he is stating that we are all broken people. Christianity recognizes human depravity, which is why people need God to save them and forgive them for their sins. Pontecorvo s music plays a massive role in conveying how both types of people, the colonizer and the colonized are capable of great evil, but both can be justified through God. He believes that once the colonizers and colonized can understand that they share the same human brokenness, then maybe they can try to understand each other or work towards restorative ... Anne Sexton Her Kind Throughout the Earth s vast history, women who have defied or who have simply not adhered to society s standards have been literally and metaphorically burned at the stake. These kinds of women have been ostracized, demonized, and called all kinds of names simply for not fitting a uniform criterion. This exclusion of femaleoutcasts is what Anne Sexton focuses on in her poem Her Kind. In it, she elaborates on the idea that society naturally shuns and persecutes all women that are deemed undesirable or nonconforming. First, imagery in Her Kind paints the speaker as a kind of unearthly, inhuman creature, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the first stanza, commas are overwhelmingly present and cause silences to appear throughout this whole stanza; for example, in line five, Sexton writes the following comma ridden line: lonely thing, twelve fingered, out of mind (5). Due to the slow way the poem reads, the narrator seems bored and or saddened by her isolation. Next, in the second stanza, though commas are much more present, these serve their purpose in lists, and arguably speed up the poem; this is most notably seen in lines 9 and 10 where Sexton writes the following: filled them with skillets, carvings, shelves, / closets, silks, innumerable goods. This shows the narrator s building cheerfulness and confidence in being herself. Finally, the syntax in the last stanza is that of complete sentences, and serves to show the narrator s final resolve to be self assured in her abnormality, revealed by the poem s last two lines: A woman like that is not ashamed to die. / I have been her kind (20 21). Since the poem ends ironically with the narrator s death being the moment she feels the most confident about herself, readers can only assume that this is Sexton s sardonic way of saying that self confident, nonconforming women are comparable to martyrs for their cause. The discussion has been around for a while now and we all know that tap water is more beneficial than bottled water. First off, tap water is more regulated and checked than bottled water is making it safer than bottled water. Tap water is also nowhere near as expensive as bottled water is and it s better for the environment too. Lastly,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2013 the average cost for tap water was $2 per every thousand gallons. While bottled was $1.21 for every gallon alone. Here is another way to look at it, if you buy a $1 bottled water everyday for a year, you end up spending $365 on water that most likely is from a tap source (Livingston). Why spend $365 annually on bottled water when you can just use your own faucet or the nearest water fountain? People spend so much money on bottled water that could be used for water charities across the world to help people who don t have access to a clean water supply. This would call for everyone who does have access to a clean tap water source, to use it and take the money that they would rather spend on a bottle and put it towards a greater cause. By choosing to drink tap water you save money daily, weekly, monthly, and annually so before you pay $2.14 for that bottle of purified water remember you have the same, if not better, quality water at your house. Another thing about tap water that is overlooked is how often we use it in our everyday lives. On average, an American family uses 300 gallons of water everyday. Now there is no way one family can drink 300 gallons of water in one day so how do they use that much? The answer is because tap water has multiple uses other than just being drinking water. First, the Flashbulb Memory should be defined. Flashbulb memories are emotional memories that are remembered with great vivid detail and are almost photo like. For example, if someone were to experience a horrid natural disaster, they would most likely remember the situation more vividly than people not actually there. Two and a half years later 45% of the participants claimed to have heard of the event on the television. Their memories of how they learned the news about the challenger disaster changed over time and was a huge loophole in the studies in favor of flashbulb memory. After a circuit court placed an injunction against protesting, parading and picketing King was arrested for his involvement. While in jail King received a letter written by eight Alabama clergymen criticizing King for his disruptive protests and the breaking of laws which lead to his arrest. In response King wrote an open letter explaining his actions that would be known as Letter from Birmingham Jail. In his letter Dr. King effectively addresses an unsympathetic audience by focusing on building his credibility rather than seeking an emotional response. The largest challenge Dr. King faced in writing his response was that his audience did not respect him. As a result of the laws he devoted himself to protest, Dr. King was a second class citizen. To the white clergymen he was addressing he was both socially and legally inferior. The feeling of supremacy that the clergymen, and many other whites, had toward blacks at the time made them largely unsympathetic to their plight. To avoid appearing pitiful or even pathetic he maintains a calm and authoritative tone.
