Sigmund Freud And Jung s Personality Theory
Within this essay, we will be looking at the works of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung s personality
theories. Personality can be construed as being a set of characteristics which are inherent in an
individual which in turn has an effect on their outward behaviour and internal experiences
(Comer, Furnham Gould, 2013). Personality is believed to be possessed by all individuals in
varying degrees, how we think, behave and what causes these sets of tendencies in people are all
questions which are addressed by personality theories and its research. The different approaches
of Freud and Jung tend to focus on different aspects of personalities and in turn affects the type of
theory into which these theorists enter (Boeree, C, G , 2006). Usually, when one is speaking of
the personality of a person they are referring to their unique characteristics which separate them
from the rest of the community at large making them unique to the rest of the world, this is known
as a beings individual differences you are looking essentially at what makes them who they are,
their core/essence (Boeree, C, G , 2006).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each of these components have their own function these were called; the id, the ego, and the
superego. It was to these that a persons thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and feelings were keenly
linked (Comer, Furnham Gould, 2013). He referred to this as the tripartite theory and according to
Freud all individuals have these three competing forces which operate at a level below our
conscious awareness (Shuttlesworth, M, 2013). It is through these three components found within
the human mind that life experiences filter through and cause inevitable inner conflicts(right and
wrong, want and need). It is from these components and their conflicts that personality is shaped

Mother and Daughter Relationship Exposed in Joyce Carol Oates Short Story, Shopping
The relationship between a mother and a daughter is one of complications, heartaches, and sweet
rewards. This is no exception between Nola and Mrs. Dietrich, characters in Shopping by Joyce
Carol Oates. The tribulations of their relationship are shown during their annual shopping trip. In
the time spent together, Nola is obviously trying to break free from her mother and become her
own woman. This coming of age path is expressed by her private thoughts and answers in
monosyllables (Oates 834). As Nola desperately tries to acquire her own self, her Mrs. Dietrich
desperately tries to hang onto the child in Nola. She tries to stay in her ... Show more content on

Her desire to make Nola happy shows that she is trying, but inside thoughts show that she does not
like the way Nola dresses, or the clothes she picks out, or the restaurant they eat at. Her emotional
attachment and need for her daughter overpowers her knowledge that it is time for Nola to grow up.
She would prefer for Nola to remain young. Despite her mother s desire, Nola is growing up and
becoming her own person.
Nola has embraced the beginning of adulthood and handles it very well. She tries to be an
individual by picking out clothes that are funky and fashionable (Oates 836). She makes an
astute and mature recognition be expressing the fact that she is not worried about the disheveled
woman [ s] affect on the people but the effect the people will have on the women (Oates 836).
She also defiantly smokes a cigarette in front of her mother. The rebellion is trying to show that
she is old enough to not have to follow her mother s rules or that she even cares what her mother
thinks. However, she has not reached full maturation because she is unable to recognize that her
mother only wants to be a part of her life. Her mother has needs too. Her mother only wants to be
loved, but Nola is constantly pushing her mother away.
In a store, Mrs. Dietrich watches her [Nola] covertly, and once Nola notices that she is being
watched, she walks away angrily (Oates 836). She does not see that Mrs. Dietrich may only

Astaxanthin Essay
Carotenoid addition: The carotenoids present in each lipoprotein were taken out before and after
astaxanthin addition and an absorption spectrum from 350 to 600nm was performed. Figure 3
shows the carotenoid absorption spectra and the astaxanthin incorporation in both lipoproteins was
verified. Initially, the LPw had no carotenoids while the LPy had an initial carotenoid concentration
of 0,93 пЃg/ml. 60 пЃl of astaxanthin solution (300 пЃg/ml) in THF was added to 1ml of each
lipoprotein, both at the same phospholipid concentration (1g L 1). So, 18 пЃg/ml of astaxanthin
was added to both lipoproteins, which was not incorporated in their totality. After astaxanthin
addition, carotenoid concentration was 11.10 пЃg/ml in the LPw and 16.70 пЃg/ml in the LPy.
Consequently, it is estimated that the 62% of added carotenoid has been incorporated into the LPw
and the 88% in the case of the LPy.

Compare And Contrast Senate And House
The Senate and the house both have very important committees that take care of many things for
the United States. Each committee is responsible for taking care of specific work that belongs to
them. An important and prestigious committee in the Senate that I decided to take a look into is the
Judicial committee. On the other side of things for the House of Representatives I decided to look
into the committee of Foreign Affairs. Both of these committees are not only important to their
respective house origin, but also to the American people. The Judiciary chairman, Chuck Grassley,
is the one of the most powerful and respected man throughout the entire senate. He is a republican
from the state of Iowa. When he turned into a politician he began... Show more content on

These departments include the FBI, homeland security, nomination for representatives, pending
legislation, etc. Within these departments the judicial committee takes charge of the drug control
policy, the United States Parole commission, the supreme court nominations, district court
nominations. This committee has one of the broadest jurisdiction of all the committees because of
all the issues that they are in charge of. For example, they have continuously discussed how to
combat crime. Senator Feinstein cosponsored a bill that has put over 114,000 additional cops in
the streets of this nation in order to help fight the crime in this nation. Another big issue that this
committee faces with is immigration reforms. For decades this nation has had different
perspectives on undocumented people that are within this country. Some people want to help them
become documented workers by offering citizenship, visas, or other methods while other people
do not. This is an ongoing matter that will continue to be talked about for many years to come not
only in the Judiciary committee, but also by the people of this country. The jurisdiction of Foreign
Affairs in the House will have an oversight on many different issues that include: foreign
assistance, the peace corps, international law, promotion in democracy, and as well as many other
matters. A huge issue that they are currently facing is how to defeat ISIS. This members within the
committee have been wanting to do whatever possible to stop the current execution of Christians
and help the people who are combatting ISIS in the middle east, but the current problem is that the
commander in chief, Barack Obama, does not have a strategy to take down the terrorist group. The
Foreign Affairs committee is infuriated by how Obama is taking care of the issue. On March 14,
they had a vote that

The Stateless Nation Of O-Go-Knee
Hello everybody. This presentation is on the stateless nation of Ogoni (O go knee).
Some background information on them. They are known as the Ogoni people. Most are christian
and/or believe in their ancient traditions. They live in Ogoniland, Nigeria. The nation is about 404
square miles. They speak the Ogoni language and their population is about 2 million people. The
group that is helping them most to become a state is MOSOP.
Ogoniland is located in River State on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, east of Port Harcourt.
Ogoniland is divided into the 6 kingdoms of Babbe (Bab), Gokhana (Gawk na), Ken Khana (Ken
Kana), Nyo Khana (Knee o Kana), Eleme (El a may), and Tai (Tie). As shown on the map Ken

In February of 1995, after eight months of being detained without official charges, Ken Saro
Wiwa and the other Ogoni leaders were brought before a special tribunal, established by the
military government. Independent international observers expressed their deep doubts about
the fairness of the trial in protest of the Tribunal s failure to meet even Nigeria s own standards
of fairness. On October 31, 1995, Ken Saro Wiwa and eight other Ogoni were sentenced to death
by the Special Tribunal. In March 1996, non partisan elections were held in Nigeria to fill all
local government seats with elected civilian Chairs and Councilors. It was widely reported that all
persons associated with MOSOP were prevented from participation, and those who presented
themselves were either beaten or detained and later disqualified. By June, 1998, the maximum
dictator, General Sani Abacha under whose watch thousands of Ogoni people perished eventually
died in mysterious circumstances. This ushered in a new attempt at democratic engagement and
electoral processes. The electoral process ushered in Chief Olusegun Obasanjo ( olu se gun ob a

Dictatorship In George Orwell s Animal Farm
A Dictatorship is a form of government that forces an innocent and gullible society to worship a
mighty ruler. In George Orwell s famous book, Animal Farm, dictatorship proved to be the root of
all evil which evidently started a rebellion to form a republic; but later the republic had collapsed
and soon turned into tyranny. The animal republic was slowly collapsing due to four different
propagandatechniques in the story. First, it was the non implemented ideas from the higher power,
which helped the downfall of the republic, causing the animalsto work harder for the ruler s benefit
and not themselves. Next, the absence of opposition to breaking the law helped kill the republic,
moreover, saying that the head of the governmentcan change laws at his own will without the
consent of others. Penultimately, another feature for the decline in the animal republic was the
extreme gullibility of the animals, that consequently made the ruler a god to the dumb citizens.
Finally, the dictator got too greedy, eventually making the economic system drop immensely and
starve all the citizens. Gullibility from citizens is what helps a leader gain too much power and
causes an endless loop of horrible leadership; this could be prevented if the citizens had more
common sense.
When a politician or ruler in any form of government promises wonderful things in the world,
people tend to believe all of it, but in the animal republic, a lot of promised ideals were never
implemented. The first ideal

Emma Watson vs. Malala Yousafzai
Emma Watson vs. Malala Yousafzai
I am going to compare two very important speeches, in my opinion. Emma Watson s was on the
HeForShe Campaign and Malala Yousafzai s promoting education for girls.
Bothe speeches were delivered at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Emma Watson, at
the age of 24, launched a campaign called HeForShe on September 20, 2014. She is the UN
Women Goodwill Ambassador and she was cohosting this event when she gave the speech. She is a
famous British actress and has been advocating for gender equality.
Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by the Taliban for going to school, and on July 12, 2013, at
the age of 16, she delivered a speech promoting education for girls. She has become a champion for

Emma Watson was clearly nervous, her voice was shaking as she spoke, but she did show the
world that she has a voice and it needed to be heard. On the other hand Malala Yousafzai was very
confident, with a powerful voice and passion.
Both of them were very prepared to give the speech, was very clear that they have practice the
speech countless times. I believe that for Malala Yousafzai was more natural since it comes from a
very powerful experience that gave her the strength to fight and be heard. However Emma Watson
also has passion about the subject.
They both Called to Action. Malala Yousafzai started six sentences by saying We Call upon... and
Emma said I am reaching out to you because I need your help...
Malala only looked down to her notes once while delivering her speech, she looked down and
captured a chunk of her next thoughts, paused, looked back up and delivered it. As for Emma
Watson, after her shaken introduction, she proved to be well prepared for the speech. They both
made eye contact with the audience, however Malala Yousafzai was able to make eye contct with
the entire body of the United Nations for the majority of her presentation. She would occasionally
look back to make eye contact with whomever was seating behind her.
They both gave a personal touch by relating their own experiences. Emma Watson experience with
gender based assumptions and her journey to becoming a feminist, and Malala s experience of

Coherentism and Foundationalism
Foundationalism vs. Coherentism Throughout history, philosophers have been trying to come up
with a clear way to provide the justification of our beliefs and knowledge. Noah Lemos offers
readers explanations of both foundationalism and coherentism for theories of justification. These
two different theories offer very different ways to explain the basis of our beliefs. For a
foundationalist, they believe that all of our beliefs can be broken down until we reach a basic
belief. This belief would be largely independent of other beliefs and not derived from other beliefs.
A coherentist feels that a belief can be reasonably justified if it is coheres with our other beliefs. The
foundationalist theory of justification boils everything... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A coherentist however, would justify that the pot is hot through other beliefs that cohere with
this belief. Some of these coherent beliefs would be: the remaining coffee in the pot is hot, the
coffee is freshly brewed which would mean it is hot, I can see steam coming from the coffee in
my mug, the coffee I ve had every other day this week from the same pot have been hot and I can
feel the warmth from the mug in my hand. All of these beliefs are not basic as a foundationalist
would like, but they all cohere and provide reasonable justification for me to believe that the
coffee in my mug is hot. It is my opinion that coherentists have a better argument for beliefs, and
more specifically, this example. While I do think that there are many basic beliefs that are
justified simply because they just are, I am not convinced that all the beliefs we have in this
world can be broken down quite in this way. I do however, feel that many of our beliefs are
based in a web of other believes that all support each other. I know that my coffee is hot for
many reasons, one being that I can feel it. I don t think that I necessarily need to break it down
into experiences when I have many other clues that could more easily justify my belief. There
are so many clues and beliefs around me to justify my belief that it s not necessary to try and
deduce anything. There are way too many complicated beliefs in the world that I do not feel they
can all be traced back to basic

The Role Of The Social Worker
A dignified life is the undeniable right to all members of a community. Regrettably, their is a
sizable population of individuals who have difficulty accessing resources that could potentially
enhance their opportunity for self determination. Basic human needs and services catalyze dignity
and self determination. The role of the social worker is quintessential in connecting individuals in
need with helpful and life altering resources. Social workers have the difficult task of developing
institutional knowledge of resources and services associated with their field. The task is further
compounded with ever changing institutional policies. However, resource allocation is just a one
part of the social workprofession. Every client has a distinctive need and set of circumstances which
require careful inspection. Social workers engage in dynamic problem solving and individual
analysis to determine the proper recourse for each and every individual client. Analysis, research,
and interviews are paramount in understanding the needs of every client. Aside from an individual
evaluation, social workers need to determine the greater conditional forces. Part of the dynamic
process is understanding the socio economic aspect that contributes to inequity. Understanding
diversity and socio economic challenges of various group provides context from which the
individual s issues complications can be better assessed. The entirety of this analysis provides an

The paper that I Am going to be writing is going to be about the how machine guns were used in

Between the start of WW1 in July 28, 1914 and the end in November 11, 1918 the machine gun
played a major role on the battlefield and was a major improvement from the single shot rifle that
would be used in the earlier wars which was way slower because after your first shot it would take
you at least 20 seconds which would be devastating and life threatening on the battlefield. The Idea
of the machine gun originated with Hiram Maxim who was born in February 5,1840 who invented

The Definition of Cyber Attack
The Definition of Cyber Attack
The most important thing that needs to be done before taking the debate on the status of cyber
attacks under international laws of war any forward is to specifically define a cyber attack .
Scholars generally use the terms such as information warfare , cyber warfare , cyber threats ,
computer network attacks , etc as alternatives for cyber attacks without a reference to any particular
definition or limitation of scope. Perhaps this is done on a supposition that a standard definition of
this term is already prevalent. This unfortunately is not true. Speaking specifically about the
literature on cyber attacks, the term is comprehended primarily in two ways: while some talk about
technology and computer networks as instruments of the attack, others use computers and
information technology networks as the objects of the attack.
The difference in the perceptions of cyber attack is rather complicating because it makes the
nature of the operative term cyber all the more ambiguous, causing serious vagueness in any use
of force or armed attack analysis. This becomes particularly problematic when applying any
leading models on the assessment of use of force because these models employ instrumentality,
target and effects as the basis for analysis. Moreover, there must be an understanding of what
exactly is a cyber attack before discussing whether it falls under the use of force notion or not
because it will not only affect the value and

Facilitating Change in Health and Social Care Essay
Introduction
This essay seeks to discuss the factors that facilitate change in health and social care. This can be
achieved by assessing the challenges that the major factors of change bring using the Care Quality
Commission of the Quality Care Commission for the Royal United Hospital Bath NHS Trust
(RUHB). The second task aims to evaluate contemporary changes being inaugurated in the
provision of health and social care services. In addition to this, a strategy and criteria will be
devised in order to measure these recent changes including how the impact of these changes can be
measured and evaluated.

The NHS Operating Framework introduced by the coalition government sets out the planning and
financial requirements for RUHB in 2012/13 and the basis of their accountability (DH, 2012). As
a result, the 2013 certified that funding for health in England be frozen for up 2015/16 thereby
requiring RUBH to underspend allocated funding from the government such as putting a 1% cap
on pay award. Socially, this will include factors such as behavior of staff and service users,
partnership working, quality of care, etc. These factors can drive change in diverse ways in the
RUHB. For example, the NICE Guidelines on Behavior Change make recommendations on
individual level behavior interventions that is aimed at changing the behavior that can be
dangerous to the health of staff and service users such as smoking, alcohol abuse, lack of physical
activity, safe sex, etc. (NICE, 2014). Technologically, the introduction of information
communication technology has resulted in faster communication, appropriate storing and sharing
of information and records of service users between health and social care professionals. As a result
of the CQC inspection, the RUHB revises their health records management policy to more
accurately reflect where information about service user such as fluid intake and output in each
ward should be recorded (CQC Report, 2013)

Pumpkin Roll Chemistry
Leaves are turning an array orange, red, and yellow and beginning to fall. The weathers getting

kitchen towel sprinkled with a layer of powdered sugar. To begin with, combine the dry
ingredients, including flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt in small
bowl. Stir the mixture until all the dry ingredients are fully mixed. Secondly, combine the eggs

John Stuart Mills Theory Of Punishment
To me punishment is a phrase that is best learned by children and criminals. As we grow up in
life we learn what you can and cannot do by pushing it to the edge, seeing just how far you can go
before being punished. We push those limits through our school, peers, family, society or the
criminal justice system. When experiencing punishment in life, if bestowed correctly the teacher
will teach the student a life long lesson. This is why when an individual has done something
dishonorable he or she should be punished as quickly and close as possible to the time and or place
of the incident. If punishment is long delayed, the connection between it and the offense becomes
stained. It makes no sense to punish an individual who has behaved properly... Show more content

Andrew Carnegie s Leadership
Dogged determination, refusal to conform, a strong desire for knowledge and eternal optimism
are a few terms practically synonymous when referring to Andrew Carnegie. With a childhood
marked by struggle, Carnegie learned at a young age, the value of an education. His desire to
learn is evidenced by the knowledge he gained when his family immigrated to the United States,
from Scotland in1848. While on the ship, at 12 years old and determined to make the best of his
situation, he learned how the ship s day to day operations were handled. He helped with Sunday
dinners, learned the names of the ropes and eventually helped lead the passengers when necessary.
Young Carnegie was not content to keep his place, therefore, he explored and mastered his
environment, taking full advantage of all he could gain from the experience. A keen eye for
opportunity or brazen disregard for protocol could also be synonymous when referring to Andrew
Carnegie. In 1853, while working as a personal assistant for Thomas Scott, superintendent of the
Pennsylvania Railroad, Carnegie, then only a young adult, took advantage of Scott s absence and
gave orders, in Scott s name, to handle a railroad incident, including cleanup and... Show more

No Treatment Or Vaccine For The Zika Virus
Currently there is no treatment or vaccine for the Zika virus but there are antibiotics available to
treat a range of bacterial infections. (WHO, 2016) The only way to prevent the dangerous
complications is to avoid contracting the virus. The main prevention is to avoid mosquito bites
since it is mosquitoborne, especially for travelers. Some prevention methods include staying inside,
wearing long sleeves and using insecticide. Many countries in Latin America and the Caribbean
where Zika has been locally transmitted have restrictive abortion policies, and contraceptives in
these areas are often hard to obtain. (WHO, 2016) So the only way to prevent the virus would be

Their results show that meteorological conditions are largely unsuitable for Aedes aegypt over the
U.S during the winter from December to March, except in southern Florida and southern Texas
were warm conditions where the mosquitoes can live year round. Meteorological conditions are
more suitable for Aedes aegypti across all fifty cities studied over the summer from July to
September. Cities in Southern Florida and Southern Texas indicate the highest mosquito

along with the Mexico border may be associated with factors that increase human exposure to
Aedes aegypti. The researchers aim is to look ahead at the summer months and help public health

`` Comfort Me With Apples `` By Tracy Daugherty
If you ever die in Houston (Rough Draft)
In the short story Comfort me with Apples by Tracy Daugherty the theme of death transpires
throughout the story. Daugherty developed a constant theme of sorrow and unfortunateness
through the characters, places and events, which all were ultimately affected by death. Although,
countless readers of Comfort me with Apples would suggest that the story is centralized by another
theme, many would agree that the theme of death in the story showcases how different characters
cope with death and the effects it has on the human condition, by examining how George coped
with the death of his wife, how death affected the Zamora family and how the bayou represented
death in every aspect when portrayed.
Undoubtedly with many untimely deaths, such as automobile accidents, survivors are often left
with survivors guilt and have to find ways to coupe death, as George did in the story. The tragic
accident that killed George s wife and her parents left him in disarray, but he persevered by
holding on to the memories of his wife, helping others and by staying busy throughout story.
George did not feel sorry for his self or succumb to moping around and lying in bed all day, as
many do when coping with death. For instance, George spends his days helping and interviewing
the Zamora and Thout families, he brings them food, offers advice and ultimately shows
compassion for both families. Additionally, he keeps close relationships with his friends

How 1960s Has Impacted And Influenced Today s Society
How have the 1960s dramatically impacted and influenced today s society? In today s society,
there are many controversial topics that we are facing today; we have the 1960s to thank for those
things. The sixties was one of the most impactful decades pertaining to culture revolutions; it is the
decade that brought into play some of the problems and privileges that the present is dealing with
now. The sixties brought the gay movement, women s rights, the drug revolution, and has also
impacted music as well. One of the most well known things about the sixties is its music. Bands in
the sixties started to break the conservative boundaries by talking about drugs and sex in their
music; the drugs and sex revolution in this music also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drugs highly influence music in the sixties with bands such as The Byrds, The Doors, The
Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Beatles. These bands took
inspiration from the affects that the drugs had on them with their psychedelic properties. Drugs
were also just starting to get introduced and people were highly influenced with positive drug
propaganda ( The 60 s ). So, the positivity about drugs were influencing the bands and the bands
were influencing the people and the more dugs being bought, the more people heard about them,
and the more people heard about them, the more they were used, so basically it was just an endless
cycle of drug positivity.
So now there are more than a hundred thousand people in America who are being influenced by
this music that expresses sex and drug use in positive ways. Also, with the invention for the birth
control pill in 1960, the consequences of having sex lessened and now women could be just as
involved in it as men where. In 1962, 1.2 million American women were using it and by 1965 that
number reached to 2.3 million women (Nikolchev). In the 1950s, sex would have barley been herd
of outside of marriage, but now into the sixties, it became more and more common for teens and
young adults to be irresponsible.
In today s society sex and drugs are common place. Media now a days show, talk about, or make
references to sex. Anyone could turn on their TV and

Classifying Mental Disorders
The best way to understand abnormal behavior is through disorders because of the diagnostic

Abstract With the increasing variety of mobile applications, reducing the energy utilization of
mobile devices is a major challenge in multimedia streaming applications. In this paper we
investigate energy efficient offloading policy for transcoding as a service in a generic mobile
cloud system. we explores how to minimize the energy consumption of the backlight when
displaying a video stream without adversely impacting the user s visual experience. we put forward
algorithms to solve the fundamental problem and prove the optimality in terms of energy savings.
Finally, based on the algorithms, we present a cloud based energy saving service.
The proposed offloading policy can reduce energy consumption on both mobile devices and the
cloud jointly, which provides guidelines for the design of green mobile cloud. Keyword: Mobile

They give the most basic understanding of the process by converting complex, abstract ideas to
logical ideas. They aid therapists to engage in clinical judgment and decisionmaking (Reed

Conceptual theories help create communication between therapists and patients (Boniface Seymour,

assessments as well as goal setting and planning of intervention. Conceptual models deduce a
number of factors affecting occupational interruption that should be taken into account throughout

Jeffersonian Democracy
Two cities that are at war with each other are found in every city, according to Plato. He wrote this
statement in his piece the Republic. Plato points out that every city has conflicting ideologies of
government and in our debate, those ideologies are democratic versus undemocratic. Ever since the
creation of the United StatesConstitution, there has been conflict over our government. The
Constitution created a republic, where the government was based on consent of the governed, and
power was given to the representatives of the people. According to ideas from the seminar and
readings, human beings have a responsibility to educate themselves, the more democratic system
has served the country well, and the question of a constitutional convention has been left, in a way,
unanswered. Those in a community or society have a responsibility to be educated in order to be a

The system in place is more democratic, but as spoken about throughout the seminar, the system
resembles more of a republic than a democracy. Citizens do elect officials to represent their beliefs
and values, but once in office these officials are allowed to choose whatever options they may.
Throughout the course of history, strides have been made to expand the democratic side to our
government. As discussed in the seminar, tradition and many acts have added to the democratic
ideas in the current government system. The Jeffersonian democracy and Jacksonian democracy
were some of the first periods of time when democratic ideas truly began to expand in the
government of the United States. Over the previous hundred years, the federal government s power
has exploded (as stated by Mr. Engels), yet our government still is considered to be democratic,
even though power relies more in the government versus the people. Our government system relies
on its democratic ideals, but it is not fully

The Importance Of Cultural Awareness In Georgia
Introduction Cultural awareness is a useful base for human communication and constitutes the
aptitude to become aware of what values, believes or perceptions are found within our culture.
Culture awareness helps understand why things are done in a certain way and how we perceive
other cultures and in what ways we are supposed to act when in a particular situation (Schein and
Edgar, 13). Culture includes marriages, religion, music and dance, education, dressing, language
among many other aspects. The world is made up many different cultures and cultural awareness
is important to enhance understanding and respect for other cultures (Schein and Edgar, 14).
Culture awareness is important in all areas including in security. It is common for countries to
send their armed forces for missions to various parts of the world where culture is completely
different. Therefore, it is important to understand the various cultures and societies from these
different countries which is very important for successful missions (Schein and Edgar, 16). This
paper is therefore going to discuss in details culture awareness in Georgia. Georgia s Physical
Geography and Military Conflicts in Georgia Complex Terrain Georgia is a mountainous country
as it is found in the Great Caucasus Mountains in the north and in the south are the lesser Caucasus
Mountains. The country borders the Black sea in the West while in the east is the Kura river plains
(Ronald and Mikhail, 1). The country covers 69,875

Organizational Change Models It is common knowledge by now that change is inevitable. It is
everywhere around us. Change can be fun, for example when a new version of the iPhone
comes out. However, when change affects what we do everyday, there usually is a lot of
skepticism and resistance to change involved. Apple employees were sure to feel enormous
pressure as the sales of iPhones skyrocketed. To implement change on an organizational scale it is
always a good idea to have a framework for building upon. Using change models can guide leaders
through organizational changes and help pave their way to the future. This article discusses and...

Thirdly, Lewin unheeded the role of politics and power in organizations and its conflictual

behavior, promoting an ethical and humanistic approach to change, and using his four mutually
reinforcing concepts of: Field Theory, Group Dynamics, Action Research as well as the 3 Step

Model Bridges Transition Model, written by William Bridges in 1991, is based on how people
feel as they transition through changes (Evision, 2014). This model highlights three stages of
transition that we all go through as we experience change. One is Ending, Losing and Letting Go
that begin as the initial stage of transition when people are presented with a change. This is an
uncomfortable stage as people are forced to give up something that is familiar to them. It is
common to experience many types of emotion in this stage such as fear, denial, and anger. Stage
two is the Neutral Zone where it is not uncommon to see confusion, impatience and uncertainty.
Experiencing resentment, low morale, decreased productivity, anxiety and skepticism is often seen
as the change is taking place. This is an important

Queen Of The Damned By Anne Rice
Queen of the Damned
What was once a terrifying creature has now been turned into something that sparkles and seduces
seventeen year old girls. Vampire movies have really changed over the years, each having their
own way of displaying vampires to their audiences. Anne Rice, the author of the book Queen of the
Damned, shows vampires in a way that most wouldn t consider normal. Bringing the immortal into
the music culture allows Rice s main character Lestat to feel on top of the world again. With a
healthy balance of blood and death, this movie allows its audience to learn Lestat s history, while a
dark soundtrack provides the scenery. All vampiremovies include one thing that sets the plot in
motion; they must keep their existence a secret no matter what. Based on that one thing it can
cause many different outcomes depending on the characters in the story. Queen of the Damned is
what I like to call a real vampire movie. The soundtrack really sets up the movie during the death
and the feeding scenes that are a must have in this certain kind of movie. It s not enough to simply
have the present day information being set up, but having a good understanding on how the plot all
came together can make or break this genre. A vampire s back story allows an emotional
connection with the main character which is something that makes the movie even better. The
audience wants to feel like they are actually in the movie and experiencing all the problems.

Leak About Thomas Perez Essay
Leak About Thomas Perez
Leaks of government affairs have always been common in Washington DC. When a person first
hears the word leak, they most likely think of a story that was not meant to be published or shown
to the public, but this is not always the case. Some politicians or government officials will leak
information just to see a reaction from the general public. This tactic is called a trial balloon. This
tactic is seen in an article that was posted in The New York Times in 2014 about the possible
nomination of Labor Secretary, Thomas Perez, for Attorney General.

A trial balloon allows the White House to test the response to a potential nominee and unleash a
round of public vetting before the president puts his prestige on the line . This shows that a trial
balloon is just a common tool for politicians in government to utilize. The president wanted to put
out his potential nomination in order to see the response he would get.
The author of the article then goes on to talk about the response from both sides of the political
parties. The author states that the nomination of Perez would be strongly supported from minority
groups while Republicans would strongly disagree with this nomination. The author shows no
preference as to whether he agrees with the President but instead examines both sides and the
different responses he would most likely get. He states that the Republicans think that Perez is just
going to bring in more illegal immigrants to take American jobs and that democrats believe his
modest upbringing and the fact that he worked his way through college would make him a good
candidate. President Obama can use all of this information when deciding on who he will

Why Roller Derby Should Be An Olympic Sport
In 2024, or as soon as 2020, roller derby should be an Olympic sport. I find that roller derby is just
as entertaining and interesting as the sports currently in the Olympics such as canoe sprint, cycling,

Roller derby is a rapidly growing sport. At this moment, there are 469 female roller derby teams in

you multiply 469 by 12, you would have a minimum of 5,628 people playing roller derby around

team, communicate with their teammates and strategize while in play. Every team has a different
name for the strategies they use. Roller derby is a game that s really fast, therefore you have to

The Federal Republic Of Germany
The Federal Republic of Germany is part of the EU (European Union). Its capital is the beautiful
and globally famous city of Berlin. It is composed by the union of 16 individual states, where
people have the freedom of religion, press and free market economy. Germany has a long history,
this town, just as the majority of all the European towns, was established during the Roman
Empire. More than 200 years ago, the north and west regions of Europe were filled with Germanic
tribes, and even though Julio Caesar pushed the limits of the Roman Empire to the east of the Rhine
river, the Romans were not able to conquered that region nor north Danube, which is now known
today as the beautiful country of Germany. In 1949, the German Federal Republic became a
constitutional, parliamentary democracy. Since its reunification in 1990, the country has been
composed of 16 federal states.
After having a four hour conversation via FaceTime with a dear German friend, whom I had the
privilege of meeting back in 2013 when I first visited Germany, I summarized as much as I was
able to the history of this precious country. It was not easy due to a lot of important events that
happened but here is my summary: On November 4 of 1918, the German revolution took place
with about 40,000 marines that invaded the port of Kiel. Three years later, on November 1921,
the Sturmabteilung aka SA was formally formed by Adolf Hitler. On November of 1923, an army
coup organized by Hitler failed, but again in 1938,

Analysis Of Loveliest Of Trees By William Blake
Intense, dark, cold, empty, merciless, those are just mere descriptions of him. Him, the
atramentous shadow, the one who pursues individuals waiting for the perfect time to seize them
away. His presence, even the mentioning of his name, is invariably menacing. He radiates
despair to the individuals he inquires. He oversees age, personality, therefore he does not
distinguish. He does not care. Does he feel lonely? What is his urgency to take individuals with
him for the rest of eternity? This obsidious shadow known as death, roams night and day. He
saunters without rest. A. E. Housman, Edwin Denby, and William Blake each have a different
perspective towards death. Housman depicts death as an impatient being, Denby illustrates it as
something that fights against us, while Blake interprets it through spiritual glasses. The themes in
Loveliest of Trees by A. E. Housman, I had heard it s a fight by Edwin Denby, and The Lamb by
William Blake best reveals the author s purpose about death. Moreover, the overall theme in
Loveliest of Trees is that death is an impatient being who does not give individuals enough time to
contemplate on the beauty of life. In the poem, the narrator compares other types of trees to the
cherry tree. In fact, the narrator states that compared to other trees the cherry tree is the loveliest
amongst all. The narrator mentions how at the age of 20 the cherry tree existence became known to
him. According to the narrator s calculations, and his

Same Sex Marriages Have Different Laws
Same sex marriages have different laws that pertain to different countries. For example, in
Canada, same sex marriage is legal however in certain states in the US, it is prohibited. Instead of
focusing on the legality of same sex marriage, this paper will focus on the emotional and social
development of children in lesbian mother families and the quality of the relationship between the
mother and the child. It will also focus on the social and academic effects same sex couples have
on children. Same sex relationships do not cause a child to question their sexual identity nor does
the quality of the relationship between the mothers an child from a same sex relationship differ
from children from a heterosexual family. Many argue that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

471). The children were not told which sex to choose for the doll that represented the second
parent, so that they could depict their own family structure (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 471). Once
this process was complete, the experimenter would tell the children a story and then ask them to
tell them what happens next (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 471). Based on the findings, narrative play
techniques tell us that children from lesbian mother families represented their mothers as equally
positive parents to heterosexual families (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 474). They also showed their
mothers to have similar levels of discipline (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 474). Also through the use of
play narratives, children from lesbian mother families showed no more negative emotion themes
as children from heterosexual families (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 474). The more negative emotion
within a family, the higher amount of behavior problems exists within the child (Perry et al., 2004,
pg. 476). Based on the data from the study, children from lesbian mother families did not have
more negative emotion themes in their stories compared to heterosexual parents (Perry et al., 2004,
pg. 476). This suggests that children being raised in a lesbian mother family do not experience
negative psychological or emotional consequences. They also do not suffer in terms of the quality
of the relationship between the mother and the child. It is also assumed that

Gravity Roads and Gravity Hills
Have you ever dreamed about going up into space feeling the weightlessness without gravity?
While not everyone can have such an opportunity, there are still places that ignore the rules of
gravity. Gravity hills allow all types of objects to travel uphill. What are they? How do they
work? If you park your car at the bottom of these roads, then place it in neutral, your car will
begin to travel upward. The same process works for water, tennis balls, pop cans or basically
anything. Gravity hills seem like a dream come true, but this is all just smoke and mirrors, an
optical illusion. The discoveries of these hills happened very gradually. There was no specific
time or place. Every hill has their own story of a new mystical place that defies gravity. When a
gravity hill was discovered it would begin with news casts. Then, someone would buy the
property making it into a showplace for people to come and visit. There many places that have
been long since discovered, and probably many more yet to be found. This may all seem too
good to be true. Well, it is. There were many experiments conducted, trying to figure out how
these hills work. At first people believed that they was a magnetic force pulling their car upward,
but how does that explain the tennis ball and the water traveling upward? Scientist finally came
upon the discovery of how our own eyes are tricking us. We see uphills easier then we see a
downhill. To prove this scientists set up 3 boards, the one in the middle is

Dubliners By James Joyce Research Paper
James Joyce wrote Dubliners to show the paralysis of the people of Ireland and how the nature of
routine plays a huge part in their lives. The people of Dublin are confined and used to routines that
they are unable to escape Ireland. No matter how hard they try to leave they wind up right back to
where they originally were. The major themes in Dublinersthat was articulated in Joyce s stories
was the repetitiveness of routines, and the sense of escape. The Dead was the last story in
Dubliners that brought together all of his ideas. Joyce created Gabriel in many ways like himself
and it is believed that The Dead is based of of Joyce s life. Gabriel is a man who is educated but is
very awkward in social situations. However Gabriel doesn t... Show more content on

In An Encounter the narrator and his friends play a game where they are in the wild west in
America which is a sense of freedom for them. This shows that they want to escape from Ireland,
but they can t escape the circling nature so they have to only pretend and play games. Even when
the narrator wants to set out on a new adventure with Mahony and Leo by skipping school, they are
not successful. Mahony and the narrator walk around by the ships and the river and the old man
keeps walking in circles around them which would represent the circling nature of Dublin. Even the
old man tried as a kid to escape but he just couldn t. The kids did not picture Dublin to be
dangerous and cold. This compares to The Dead because Gabriel is the only character in the
entire book to come out and state that he is sick of my own country, sick of it he wants to travel
Europe , and Miss. Ivors wants him to stay and learn more about the country he is from. Just like
Farrington uses drinking as a sense of escape of the dull nature of his job, Gabriel uses his cycling
trips as a sense of escape. Gabriel s wife is also an escape because she is an outsider and she always
talks about how she wants to travel back West. Even during the dinner party Gabriel reaches
towards the window and he wishes to be somewhere else besides

Essay on Hans SelyeВґs General Adaptation Syndrome Model
Hans Selye s General Adaptation Syndrome Model was created by Hans Selye in 1936. The Hans
Selye s General Adaptation Model states that when a stressful event occurs, it acts as a stressor
causing one s body to react to it through three stages if it is not removed. The three stages are alarm
stage, resistance stage and exhaustion stage.
One stressful event that I personally encountered which I will use to apply to the model is the time
when I was representing my school at the National Track and Field Championships for the 800m
event.
In the alarm stage, the body encounters a stressor. The stressor will cause the body to react with the
fight or flight response.Next, the nervous system and hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis will be ...

The spleen in my body discharge more white and red blood cells to allow my blood cells to

As I feel the competitor getting closer to me, the fluids from my body are diverted from
nonessential locations, including the mouth which results in dryness in my throat and difficulty
in trying to talk. The stress can also cause spasms of the throat muscles, making it difficult for
me to swallow my saliva. The stress causes blood in my skin to divert away from my skin to aid
my muscle tissues and heart. The physical effects that I feel is a sweat , clammy, and cool skin.
Now, is the final stage, which is the exhaustion stage. In an instant, my body has reacted and was
prepared to quicken my pace, build up my strides run even faster. I speed up and dash for the
finishing line. The moment I pass the finishing line, I was relieved that my competitor did not
manage to overtake me. My response starts to restore my homeostasis. The initial stress response
burns out. At this stage, my energy has been drained out due to ongoing stress. There are
differences in how a female and a male responds to stress. For females, it is usually a tend and
befriend way of responding. For a male, it is usually a fight or flight respond. Firstly, i will talk
about how men and women respond to stress. One example will be when confronted with a
dangerous situation such as a robber, a man will either fight with the robber or flee the scene. For a

Analysis Of The Film The Golden Girls Essay
Since the age of nine, I ve had a dream of becoming a screenwriter, and a movie producer. Where
others only want to see a show or a movie, I have always wanted to be behind the scenes in the
creation of the art. Being behind the scene and being involved in the creation of the film has
always fascinated me. When I was a in 3rd grade I remember watching the Golden Girls. One
Saturday morning, I turned to Lifetime, and there was an elderly lady who was so short and
cute, I just could not turn the channel. The woman s name was Sophia and she made me laugh
from the time I had started watching the TV show until it had gone off. That day Lifetime was
running a marathon of the Golden Girls; those four ladies made me giggle, and smile. So it was
then that I started to wonder about who is behind the TV shows and movies, because I saw myself
being that person. At that time I did not know about a producer or filmmaker all that I knew is that
I wanted to become a part of tv shows. The Golden Girls made me want to have my own TV
series that was just as funny, and that would make people laugh just as I had done when I
watched it. I began carrying a notebook and a pen everywhere I would go. I would jot down funny
lines, and different ideas for scripts for a movie or a TV series. I then realized that I wanted to
become a screenwriter and a film producer. As a screenwriter, I want to create TV series that
brings joy and comfort to all people, no matter what. My goal as a screenwriter and

Essay On Blue Monday
IT WAS A BLUE MONDAY INDEED
The movie 24 Hour Party People pointed out that Blue Monday is perpetually the best selling
12inch single in Britain, with 1.16 million copies sold there; and at 3 million copies sold
worldwide (a claim which is difficult to verify), which accounts the rise of Factory records
(Marley,P 1993). And unfortunately, due to Factory Records not being a part of the British
Phonographic Industry at the time of Blue Monday s original release, it could not be eligible for
an official gold disc.
The packaging of the record had been designed by former label partner and renowned graphic
designer, Peter Saville. He designed a black die cut sleeve that resembled a five inch computer
floppy disk that had a strip of color coded blocks on the right hand side that ... Show more content

It was a pinnacle in its time and it changed the landscape of music as it was and as it would be.
The song is broadly viewed as a critical connection between Seventies disco and the Dance/House
music boom that took off towards the end of the Eighties. Kick starting the UK dance scene it had
a huge role in opening the pathway of dance music to a new and wide crowd of people.
New Order were one of the few bands to credibly fuse punk and disco being a proponent of
Electroclash (Vine,J no date). Synthpop had been a noteworthy power in British famous music for
quite a while, however Blue Monday was ostensibly the first British dance record to show an
incontestable impact from the New York club scene, principally the work of makers like Arthur
Baker (Ohlsson,M 2008).
This inspiration of the New York disco clubs coupled with their industrial surroundings resulted in a
sound that in turn would later influence Detroit DJs and many other British groups. Consequently,
Blue Monday is regularly seen as a standout amongst the most essential hybrid tracks of the 1980s
popular music scene.

Mycenaean Fortifications
Late Helladic fortification walls on the Greek mainland are found surrounding citadels, not the
entire city or site. The citadels seem to have housed central administration and housing for an elite
class of citizens. They were built on hills, presumably as another layer of fortification. I will
examine the sites of Gla, Midea, Tiryns, and Mycenaeto look for similarities and differences in the
design and architecture of their fortifications, as well as, arguments about the purpose of the
fortifications at these sites. I will also explore how some sites were hindered or helped defensively
and economically by their location and their use of fortifications.
Mycenaean sites employed Cyclopean masonry as the means of building their ... Show more content

The site of Midea is near Mycenae and Tiryns. Midea s fortification walls were observable by
19th century travelers (Iakovidis, 1983) and later excavations uncovered the gates from the
walls as well. Like other Late Helladic sites, the fortification walls were built on a natural hill. At
Midea this hill is surrounded by a plain and is significantly taller than the surrounding area at 171
meters and the slopes are hard to climb. This puts the citadel of the site in an easily defensible
position in case of any attack. The hill is so steep in areas that builders did not need to build
fortification walls on the east and south east sides.
The walls at Midea were built using Cyclopean masonry like other fortification walls found from
this time. The walls are also very thick, ranging from 5.50 7 meters in various areas (Iakovidis,
1983). Like other Mycenaean sites, there is also evidence of a palace area inside the fortification
walls. Terracing and other buildings have also been uncovered during excavations, in keeping with
the traditional role of the fortification walls being placed around an administrative or elite center.
Unlike some other Mycenaean sites, Midea s fortification walls entrance gates were relatively
simple and the walls were never expanded. Midea also has examples of L Shaped gates which are
rare on the Greek mainland. L Shaped gates had 90 degree turns, and while it was a defensive
measure in the

  • 2. Sigmund Freud And Jung s Personality Theory Within this essay, we will be looking at the works of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung s personality theories. Personality can be construed as being a set of characteristics which are inherent in an individual which in turn has an effect on their outward behaviour and internal experiences (Comer, Furnham Gould, 2013). Personality is believed to be possessed by all individuals in varying degrees, how we think, behave and what causes these sets of tendencies in people are all questions which are addressed by personality theories and its research. The different approaches of Freud and Jung tend to focus on different aspects of personalities and in turn affects the type of theory into which these theorists enter (Boeree, C, G , 2006). Usually, when one is speaking of the personality of a person they are referring to their unique characteristics which separate them from the rest of the community at large making them unique to the rest of the world, this is known as a beings individual differences you are looking essentially at what makes them who they are, their core/essence (Boeree, C, G , 2006).... It was to these that a persons thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and feelings were keenly linked (Comer, Furnham Gould, 2013). He referred to this as the tripartite theory and according to Freud all individuals have these three competing forces which operate at a level below our conscious awareness (Shuttlesworth, M, 2013). It is through these three components found within the human mind that life experiences filter through and cause inevitable inner conflicts(right and wrong, want and need). It is from these components and their conflicts that personality is shaped (Fromm, E, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is no exception between Nola and Mrs. Dietrich, characters in Shopping by Joyce Carol Oates. The tribulations of their relationship are shown during their annual shopping trip. In the time spent together, Nola is obviously trying to break free from her mother and become her own woman. • 6. Astaxanthin Essay Carotenoid addition: The carotenoids present in each lipoprotein were taken out before and after astaxanthin addition and an absorption spectrum from 350 to 600nm was performed. Figure 3 shows the carotenoid absorption spectra and the astaxanthin incorporation in both lipoproteins was verified. Initially, the LPw had no carotenoids while the LPy had an initial carotenoid concentration of 0,93 пЃg/ml. 60 пЃl of astaxanthin solution (300 пЃg/ml) in THF was added to 1ml of each lipoprotein, both at the same phospholipid concentration (1g L 1). So, 18 пЃg/ml of astaxanthin was added to both lipoproteins, which was not incorporated in their totality. After astaxanthin addition, carotenoid concentration was 11.10 пЃg/ml in the LPw and 16.70 пЃg/ml in the LPy. • 7. Compare And Contrast Senate And House The Senate and the house both have very important committees that take care of many things for the United States. Each committee is responsible for taking care of specific work that belongs to them. An important and prestigious committee in the Senate that I decided to take a look into is the Judicial committee. On the other side of things for the House of Representatives I decided to look into the committee of Foreign Affairs. Both of these committees are not only important to their respective house origin, but also to the American people. The Judiciary chairman, Chuck Grassley, is the one of the most powerful and respected man throughout the entire senate. He is a republican from the state of Iowa. These departments include the FBI, homeland security, nomination for representatives, pending legislation, etc. Within these departments the judicial committee takes charge of the drug control policy, the United States Parole commission, the supreme court nominations, district court nominations. This committee has one of the broadest jurisdiction of all the committees because of all the issues that they are in charge of. For example, they have continuously discussed how to combat crime. Senator Feinstein cosponsored a bill that has put over 114,000 additional cops in the streets of this nation in order to help fight the crime in this nation. Another big issue that this committee faces with is immigration reforms. For decades this nation has had different perspectives on undocumented people that are within this country. Some people want to help them become documented workers by offering citizenship, visas, or other methods while other people do not. This is an ongoing matter that will continue to be talked about for many years to come not only in the Judiciary committee, but also by the people of this country. The jurisdiction of Foreign Affairs in the House will have an oversight on many different issues that include: foreign assistance, the peace corps, international law, promotion in democracy, and as well as many other matters. A huge issue that they are currently facing is how to defeat ISIS. This members within the committee have been wanting to do whatever possible to stop the current execution of Christians and help the people who are combatting ISIS in the middle east, but the current problem is that the commander in chief, Barack Obama, does not have a strategy to take down the terrorist group. The Foreign Affairs committee is infuriated by how Obama is taking care of the issue. On March 14, they had a vote that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On October 31, 1995, Ken Saro Wiwa and eight other Ogoni were sentenced to death by the Special Tribunal. In March 1996, non partisan elections were held in Nigeria to fill all local government seats with elected civilian Chairs and Councilors. It was widely reported that all persons associated with MOSOP were prevented from participation, and those who presented themselves were either beaten or detained and later disqualified. By June, 1998, the maximum dictator, General Sani Abacha under whose watch thousands of Ogoni people perished eventually died in mysterious circumstances. • 9. Dictatorship In George Orwell s Animal Farm A Dictatorship is a form of government that forces an innocent and gullible society to worship a mighty ruler. In George Orwell s famous book, Animal Farm, dictatorship proved to be the root of all evil which evidently started a rebellion to form a republic; but later the republic had collapsed and soon turned into tyranny. The animal republic was slowly collapsing due to four different propagandatechniques in the story. First, it was the non implemented ideas from the higher power, which helped the downfall of the republic, causing the animalsto work harder for the ruler s benefit and not themselves. Next, the absence of opposition to breaking the law helped kill the republic, moreover, saying that the head of the governmentcan change laws at his own will without the consent of others. Penultimately, another feature for the decline in the animal republic was the extreme gullibility of the animals, that consequently made the ruler a god to the dumb citizens. Finally, the dictator got too greedy, eventually making the economic system drop immensely and starve all the citizens. Gullibility from citizens is what helps a leader gain too much power and causes an endless loop of horrible leadership; this could be prevented if the citizens had more common sense. When a politician or ruler in any form of government promises wonderful things in the world, people tend to believe all of it, but in the animal republic, a lot of promised ideals were never implemented. The first ideal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Emma Watson vs. Malala Yousafzai Emma Watson vs. Malala Yousafzai I am going to compare two very important speeches, in my opinion. Emma Watson s was on the HeForShe Campaign and Malala Yousafzai s promoting education for girls. Bothe speeches were delivered at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Emma Watson, at the age of 24, launched a campaign called HeForShe on September 20, 2014. She is the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and she was cohosting this event when she gave the speech. She is a famous British actress and has been advocating for gender equality. On the other hand Malala Yousafzai was very confident, with a powerful voice and passion. Both of them were very prepared to give the speech, was very clear that they have practice the speech countless times. I believe that for Malala Yousafzai was more natural since it comes from a very powerful experience that gave her the strength to fight and be heard. However Emma Watson also has passion about the subject. They both Called to Action. Malala Yousafzai started six sentences by saying We Call upon... and Emma said I am reaching out to you because I need your help... Malala only looked down to her notes once while delivering her speech, she looked down and captured a chunk of her next thoughts, paused, looked back up and delivered it. As for Emma Watson, after her shaken introduction, she proved to be well prepared for the speech. They both made eye contact with the audience, however Malala Yousafzai was able to make eye contct with the entire body of the United Nations for the majority of her presentation. She would occasionally look back to make eye contact with whomever was seating behind her. They both gave a personal touch by relating their own experiences. • 11. Coherentism and Foundationalism Foundationalism vs. Coherentism Throughout history, philosophers have been trying to come up with a clear way to provide the justification of our beliefs and knowledge. Noah Lemos offers readers explanations of both foundationalism and coherentism for theories of justification. These two different theories offer very different ways to explain the basis of our beliefs. For a foundationalist, they believe that all of our beliefs can be broken down until we reach a basic belief. This belief would be largely independent of other beliefs and not derived from other beliefs. A coherentist feels that a belief can be reasonably justified if it is coheres with our other beliefs. The foundationalist theory of justification boils everything... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A coherentist however, would justify that the pot is hot through other beliefs that cohere with this belief. Some of these coherent beliefs would be: the remaining coffee in the pot is hot, the coffee is freshly brewed which would mean it is hot, I can see steam coming from the coffee in my mug, the coffee I ve had every other day this week from the same pot have been hot and I can feel the warmth from the mug in my hand. All of these beliefs are not basic as a foundationalist would like, but they all cohere and provide reasonable justification for me to believe that the coffee in my mug is hot. It is my opinion that coherentists have a better argument for beliefs, and more specifically, this example. While I do think that there are many basic beliefs that are justified simply because they just are, I am not convinced that all the beliefs we have in this world can be broken down quite in this way. I do however, feel that many of our beliefs are based in a web of other believes that all support each other. I know that my coffee is hot for many reasons, one being that I can feel it. I don t think that I necessarily need to break it down into experiences when I have many other clues that could more easily justify my belief. There are so many clues and beliefs around me to justify my belief that it s not necessary to try and deduce anything. There are way too many complicated beliefs in the world that I do not feel they can all be traced back to basic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Regrettably, their is a sizable population of individuals who have difficulty accessing resources that could potentially enhance their opportunity for self determination. • 14. The Definition of Cyber Attack The Definition of Cyber Attack The most important thing that needs to be done before taking the debate on the status of cyber attacks under international laws of war any forward is to specifically define a cyber attack . Scholars generally use the terms such as information warfare , cyber warfare , cyber threats , computer network attacks , etc as alternatives for cyber attacks without a reference to any particular definition or limitation of scope. Perhaps this is done on a supposition that a standard definition of this term is already prevalent. This unfortunately is not true. Speaking specifically about the literature on cyber attacks, the term is comprehended primarily in two ways: while some talk about technology and computer networks as instruments of the attack, others use computers and information technology networks as the objects of the attack. The difference in the perceptions of cyber attack is rather complicating because it makes the nature of the operative term cyber all the more ambiguous, causing serious vagueness in any use of force or armed attack analysis. This becomes particularly problematic when applying any leading models on the assessment of use of force because these models employ instrumentality, target and effects as the basis for analysis. Moreover, there must be an understanding of what exactly is a cyber attack before discussing whether it falls under the use of force notion or not because it will not only affect the value and ... • 18. John Stuart Mills Theory Of Punishment To me punishment is a phrase that is best learned by children and criminals. As we grow up in life we learn what you can and cannot do by pushing it to the edge, seeing just how far you can go before being punished. We push those limits through our school, peers, family, society or the criminal justice system. When experiencing punishment in life, if bestowed correctly the teacher will teach the student a life long lesson. This is why when an individual has done something dishonorable he or she should be punished as quickly and close as possible to the time and or place of the incident. Andrew Carnegie s Leadership Dogged determination, refusal to conform, a strong desire for knowledge and eternal optimism are a few terms practically synonymous when referring to Andrew Carnegie. With a childhood marked by struggle, Carnegie learned at a young age, the value of an education. While on the ship, at 12 years old and determined to make the best of his situation, he learned how the ship s day to day operations were handled. Anne Rice, the author of the book Queen of the Damned, shows vampires in a way that most wouldn t consider normal. Bringing the immortal into the music culture allows Rice s main character Lestat to feel on top of the world again. With a healthy balance of blood and death, this movie allows its audience to learn Lestat s history, while a dark soundtrack provides the scenery. All vampiremovies include one thing that sets the plot in motion; they must keep their existence a secret no matter what. Based on that one thing it can cause many different outcomes depending on the characters in the story. Queen of the Damned is what I like to call a real vampire movie. The soundtrack really sets up the movie during the death and the feeding scenes that are a must have in this certain kind of movie. It s not enough to simply have the present day information being set up, but having a good understanding on how the plot all came together can make or break this genre. A vampire s back story allows an emotional connection with the main character which is something that makes the movie even better. The audience wants to feel like they are actually in the movie and experiencing all the problems. Problems such as people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Leak About Thomas Perez Essay Leak About Thomas Perez Leaks of government affairs have always been common in Washington DC. When a person first hears the word leak, they most likely think of a story that was not meant to be published or shown to the public, but this is not always the case. Some politicians or government officials will leak information just to see a reaction from the general public. This tactic is called a trial balloon. This tactic is seen in an article that was posted in The New York Times in 2014 about the possible nomination of Labor Secretary, Thomas Perez, for Attorney General. A trial balloon allows the White House to test the response to a potential nominee and unleash a round of public vetting before the president puts his prestige on the line . This shows that a trial balloon is just a common tool for politicians in government to utilize. The president wanted to put out his potential nomination in order to see the response he would get. The author of the article then goes on to talk about the response from both sides of the political parties. The author states that the nomination of Perez would be strongly supported from minority groups while Republicans would strongly disagree with this nomination. The author shows no preference as to whether he agrees with the President but instead examines both sides and the different responses he would most likely get. He states that the Republicans think that Perez is just going to bring in more illegal immigrants to take American jobs and that democrats believe his modest upbringing and the fact that he worked his way through college would make him a good candidate. President Obama can use all of this information when deciding on who he will eventually nominate for Attorney ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is composed by the union of 16 individual states, where people have the freedom of religion, press and free market economy. Germany has a long history, this town, just as the majority of all the European towns, was established during the Roman Empire. More than 200 years ago, the north and west regions of Europe were filled with Germanic tribes, and even though Julio Caesar pushed the limits of the Roman Empire to the east of the Rhine river, the Romans were not able to conquered that region nor north Danube, which is now known today as the beautiful country of Germany. In 1949, the German Federal Republic became a constitutional, parliamentary democracy. Since its reunification in 1990, the country has been composed of 16 federal states. Three years later, on November 1921, the Sturmabteilung aka SA was formally formed by Adolf Hitler. On November of 1923, an army coup organized by Hitler failed, but again in 1938, ... • 44. Analysis Of Loveliest Of Trees By William Blake Intense, dark, cold, empty, merciless, those are just mere descriptions of him. Him, the atramentous shadow, the one who pursues individuals waiting for the perfect time to seize them away. His presence, even the mentioning of his name, is invariably menacing. He radiates despair to the individuals he inquires. He oversees age, personality, therefore he does not distinguish. He does not care. Does he feel lonely? What is his urgency to take individuals with him for the rest of eternity? This obsidious shadow known as death, roams night and day. He saunters without rest. A. E. Housman, Edwin Denby, and William Blake each have a different perspective towards death. Housman depicts death as an impatient being, Denby illustrates it as something that fights against us, while Blake interprets it through spiritual glasses. The themes in Loveliest of Trees by A. E. Housman, I had heard it s a fight by Edwin Denby, and The Lamb by William Blake best reveals the author s purpose about death. Moreover, the overall theme in Loveliest of Trees is that death is an impatient being who does not give individuals enough time to contemplate on the beauty of life. In the poem, the narrator compares other types of trees to the cherry tree. In fact, the narrator states that compared to other trees the cherry tree is the loveliest amongst all. The children were not told which sex to choose for the doll that represented the second parent, so that they could depict their own family structure (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 471). Once this process was complete, the experimenter would tell the children a story and then ask them to tell them what happens next (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 471). Based on the findings, narrative play techniques tell us that children from lesbian mother families represented their mothers as equally positive parents to heterosexual families (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 474). They also showed their mothers to have similar levels of discipline (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 474). Also through the use of play narratives, children from lesbian mother families showed no more negative emotion themes as children from heterosexual families (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 474). The more negative emotion within a family, the higher amount of behavior problems exists within the child (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 476). Based on the data from the study, children from lesbian mother families did not have more negative emotion themes in their stories compared to heterosexual parents (Perry et al., 2004, pg. 476). This suggests that children being raised in a lesbian mother family do not experience negative psychological or emotional consequences. They also do not suffer in terms of the quality of the relationship between the mother and the child. It is also assumed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Gravity Roads and Gravity Hills Have you ever dreamed about going up into space feeling the weightlessness without gravity? While not everyone can have such an opportunity, there are still places that ignore the rules of gravity. Gravity hills allow all types of objects to travel uphill. What are they? How do they work? If you park your car at the bottom of these roads, then place it in neutral, your car will begin to travel upward. The same process works for water, tennis balls, pop cans or basically anything. Gravity hills seem like a dream come true, but this is all just smoke and mirrors, an optical illusion. The discoveries of these hills happened very gradually. There was no specific time or place. Every hill has their own story of a new mystical place that defies gravity. When a gravity hill was discovered it would begin with news casts. Then, someone would buy the property making it into a showplace for people to come and visit. There many places that have been long since discovered, and probably many more yet to be found. This may all seem too good to be true. Well, it is. There were many experiments conducted, trying to figure out how these hills work. At first people believed that they was a magnetic force pulling their car upward, but how does that explain the tennis ball and the water traveling upward? Scientist finally came upon the discovery of how our own eyes are tricking us. We see uphills easier then we see a downhill. To prove this scientists set up 3 boards, the one in the middle is ... Being behind the scene and being involved in the creation of the film has always fascinated me. When I was a in 3rd grade I remember watching the Golden Girls. One Saturday morning, I turned to Lifetime, and there was an elderly lady who was so short and cute, I just could not turn the channel. At Midea this hill is surrounded by a plain and is significantly taller than the surrounding area at 171 meters and the slopes are hard to climb. This puts the citadel of the site in an easily defensible position in case of any attack.
