The Conflict Between White People And Black People
The bloodiest Civil War war in the United States history was not cure of everything. After the war,
social problems existed for long years. White people and black people kept fighting. Racism was a
very big problem. White people killed lots of black people for no reason. Even after KKK, white
people kept causing problems and killing black people. One of the examples is the Elaine Race Riot.
This bloody riot started in September 30, 1919 in Phillips County s Elaine Town in Arkansas. In this
essay, I am going to write about this riot and its details.
The Elaine Riot was one of the biggest conflict between white people and black people in the United
States history. A shooting incident started the riot. It happened at a meeting of the Progressive Farmers
and Household Union of America and it led white people to start a riot against black people in Elaine
town in Phillips County, Arkansas and surrounding areas. Around 200 of black people and 5 white
people were killed. However, exact number is not known.
The incident happened in September 30, 1919. Around 100 black sharecropper, who were working on
the white landowner s plantations, attended a meeting of the Progressive Farmers of Household Union
of America. The meeting was at a church in Elaine. The purpose of the meeting was the black
sharecroppers had problems with their payments and they wanted to solve it.
After the World War I, labors in the United States had new foreign ideologies that against the

Mental Benefits Of Matcha
For the past few years, green tea has been gaining a lot of popularity, especially to those who are in
search of a drink that would improve their metabolism and a java free caffeine kick. Though, aside
from that, one of the reasons that a lot of people are getting more and more interested in drinking
matcha, and why matcha powder is available in most grocery stores, is because of its mental benefits.
That said, here s how matcha can improve brain functioning and productivity.
1. It Helps in Maintaining the Health of the Cerebral Cortex
Regular consumption of matcha green tea can improve the health of the cerebral cortex part of the
brain. This has been proven based on the experiment conducted on pre diabetic rats. Wherein, it has
been discovered that the effects of consuming tea at regular intervals could actually help in keeping

3. Green Tea Contains 3 Times more EGCG
Matcha is the most premium form of green tea. It s a rich, high quality, vibrant green tea that has been
processed traditionally in Japan this is where you can find the best tasting matcha there is.
One study suggests that matcha contains 3 times more EGCG content than other regular green teas.
This is because matcha contains the entire green tea leaf in powdered form unlike traditional teas
where you have to infused the dried leaves in water through a bag or strainer.
The green tea catechins have also shown dramatic neuro protective results in several experiments
involving those with Parkinson s and Alzheimer s disease. In mammals, EGCG is best known in
reducing cognitive impairment as well as with neuro degeneration. Not just that, it can also eliminate
oxygen free radicals and lessen inflammation that s often caused by a number of age related

Inflation Is The Price Of Money Goes Up
In 1923 Germany set a record, a record that no other nation wishes to near or beat. In that year,
Germany s prices rose a trillion times over. Prices rose so fast that workers had to take shopping
breaks to spend their twice a day paychecks before they became worthless (Schiller, 2013). During
this time of inflation, prices more than doubled every day causing people the inability to save, invest,
lend money, or make any long term plans.
According to B. R. Schiller, inflation is the general increase in the average level of prices of goods and
services, and when the inflation rate is in excess of 200 percent lasting at least one year, that is
hyperinflation. Because inflation is an increase in the average price of goods and services, it ... Show

Conversely, if there is a record crop or oranges, we would expect to see the price of oranges fall, as
orange sellers will need to reduce their prices in order to clear their inventory. These are scenarios of
inflation and deflation, respectively, though in the real world inflation and deflation are changes in the
average price of all goods and services, not just one (Moffatt, n.d.).
There are a several ways to measure inflation The GDP deflator, the Product Price Index, or the
Consumer Price Index. The GDP deflator is a price index that refers to all goods and services included
in GDP. The Product Price Index program measures the average change over time in the selling prices
received by domestic producers for their output. The prices included in the Product Price Index are
from the first commercial transaction for many products and some services. Finally, the most common
measure of inflation is the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is a measure
of the average change over time in the prices paid by urban consumers for a market basket of
consumer goods and services (Consumer Price Index Frequently Asked Questions, 2014) Note that
items in this basket can be purchased from either domestic or foreign companies, which is one way in
which the Consumer Price Index differs from the GDP deflator

The Aeneid, The Hero Aeneas Essay
In Virgil s Aeneid , the hero Aeneas, a Trojan who traveled to Italy, is faced with a series of
challenges. To overcome these challenges, Aeneas seeks help from the gods as he tries to make his
way back home. In Homer s The Odyssey , the hero Odysseus spends ten years trying to return to his
homeland, Ithaca. Both heroes face similar challenges that they need to overcome in order to
accomplish their goals. The Odyssey has two characters that hinder the hero s journey; Calypso and
Circe. The Aeneid has the character Dido who delays Aeneas journey. This essay will compare both
stories, showing similarities and differences of how the hero s journey was delayed.
The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem, written by Virgil between 29 and 19 B.C. The story is centered on
the main character, Aeneas, a Trojan war survivor and leader of the Trojans after the fall of Troy.
Aeneas and his men sail for Italy, where he is destined to found Rome. While sailing for their
destination, a fierce storm redirects the fleet to the island Carthage; ...a howling wind from the North
Struck against the sail. Waves shot to the start. The oars shattered. The prow swung around, Exposing
the side to the waves, and then A mountain of water broke over the fleet...The Trojans disembark on
the welcome beach, Laying their brine soaked bodies on the sand (Virgil, 4,6 7). Dido, Carthage s
founder, welcomes Aeneas and his men. These women Calypso, Circe, and Dido all have one thing in

Most actors do not continue making films one after another until they die but Norma could not get this
into her head. She spent years writing her script to return to the big screen and was set on that dream.
Since Norma was obsessed with the goal of filming again it led her to become foolish about how
famous she actually was and her terrible script. Also a scary realization of having a chance of ending

for actors after their acting days were over.
I recommend this film for anybody that is interested in movies with the genre drama. The film refers

The Effects Of Vitamin Supplements On The Body
Have you heard the saying that Vitamin C can prevent you from getting the common cold? Or, on the
other hand, taking vitamin supplements will make you feel better overall? It is true that neither of
these assumptions have been proven. Mainstream marketing and media has brainwashed our society
into believing supplements can cure all that can potentially make a person sick. Vitamins are obtained
from the foods we consume, and they are organic compounds that the body cannot produce enough of
or any at all. Having these vitamins aid in many of the body s systems such as a stronger immune
system, breaking down fats and carbohydrates in the digestive system, stronger bones in the skeletal
system, and healthy production of skin in the integumentary system. Vitamin supplements are
essential to the body especially for people with eating disorders, people who are pregnant, or people
with preexisting vitamin deficiency. Vitamin supplements are tablets, pills, or gummies that contain
essential micronutrients for a person s body to function properly but are not the cures to common
diseases. I will help you know the origins of the term vitamin supplements, examples of vitamin
deficiency, and common misconceptions.
Since our health depends on vitamins obtained from food or vitamin supplements, there is a need to
understanding the history of vitamins. In 1912, Polish scientist Cashmir Funk named the special
nutritional parts of food as a vitamine after vita meaning life and amine

Effects Of The Attack On Pequot Fort
The attack on Pequot Fort was a brutal, one sided battle between the Pequot people, fellow Natives
Americans, and the Englishmen. The Pequot fought very hard and stood their ground during the battle.
In John Underhill s account, he mentions that he and Captain Mason set fire to the fort. This led to
many deaths of the Pequot people as most of them stayed and fought through the Palisadoes. The
Pequot were slowly losing the war as their warriors died and their weaponry destroyed in the flames.
Those who ran from the fire were killed by the colonists themselves. Those who survived the fire and
fought back were killed nonetheless. The Englishmen had advanced warfare compared to the Natives.
The Colonists had swords, Carbines, and Muskets while

Positive And Negative Effects Of Technological Change
Technological change is an increase in the efficiency of a process (usually done by a machine) which
results in more output, but without input having been increased (Winston, n.d). A specific level of
technological advancement is necessary for productivity and growth in the economy of a country. The
absence of proper technological change retards the economic growth and technological change has
impacted the world by creating new products and processes, increasing efficiency and lowering costs,
and helping economies evolve. Structural unemployment is the situation when the jobs are available
and workers are willing work, but they don t have the required job skills to qualify for the vacant
positions or just simply the mismatch between the jobs available and the skill levels of the
unemployed. Technological change may make some skills obsolete or require new ones. For example,
the introduction of personal computers since the 1980s, has lowered demand for typists who lacked
computer skills (Rittenberg Tregarthen. 2012, p 216). Technological changes have negative effects on
employment. It negatively affects the value the value of workers and automated processes and other
technology have become more important to the process of increasing output. Workers are less
expensive to replace than machines therefore they have become less valuable as a result of
technological change. Government s economic policies have an influence on technology development
and adoption because it helps

China, float or not Essay
1. What are the implications of China s exchange rate policy on doing business with and against
China? Since July 21, 2005, China has adopted a managed floating rate regime based on market
supply and demand with reference to a basket of undisclosed currency. The daily trading price of the
U.S. dollar against RMB in the foreign exchange market will be allowed to float within a band of +/
0.3% around the central parity published by People s Bank of China. The signal was initially
interpreted by the international market as an indication that China would embark on a gradual shift
toward increased flexibility which eventually adopt a floating exchange rate regime where the RMB
will appreciate much against US dollar. However, they soon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The change in the exchange rate policy to move to a more flexible floating exchange rate system will
inevitably compromise China s current advantageous position in trading especially the export which
takes a heavy weight in China s GDP. The appreciation of RMB will deprive the Chinese enterprises
of the advantage to leverage the cheap materials and labor to compete in the international market. This
might be a positive indication for China s importers who has a focus on the domestic markets rather
than the international market, where the importers purchasing power gets enhanced if the domestic
currency appreciate. However, China is still heavily relying on export to grow their GDP at this point
and a revaluation of RMB would be very dangerous for the country. Thousands of factories counting
on exports might be closed and millions of workers would lose their jobs. As pointed out by Morgan
Stanley Economist Andy Xie in the case, China s priority is stability and currency flexibility should
not be allowed to conflict with this goal . On the flip side though, a revaluation of the RMB would not
necessarily change the current situation of US and EU who had a large trade deficit with China. The
reduced imports from China are unlikely to stimulate the growth of the domestic productions of those

Religious Sensitivities Between Religion And Art Beckons...
Religious Sensitivities
And
Art
Savannah Lewis
Many artists have broken old traditions by allowing a shroud of their faith and many others have not
needed or intended to do so. The clash between religion and art beckons controversy and the wrath of
family and community. Despite the sensitivities, ideas, or faiths of any given group or person, religion
should not create taboo stipulations on any type of art. [1a] The word taboo On the one hand it means
to us sacred, consecrated: but on the other hand it means, uncanny, dangerous, forbidden, and unclean.
[1b] The question is where is the line drawn that separates what artwork can and can t be show

This is one of 4 renderings, two digital prints and 2 acrylic on canvas paintings. This digital print
mixes the modern pop art logo of Coca Cola with an image of Jesus. It is one of the modern poster
children for a stand against consumerism. The controversy jams the gears because of the fact that it is
taboo , meshing a religious icon with a logo that isn t habitually associated with religion immediately
turns into something perceived as disrespectful.
Another example of controversial art is Piss Christ by Andres Serrano. It is a photo of a crucifix
submerged in Serrano s urine. Protesters stated that in this work Serrano had desecrated something
sacred by not showing appropriate respect for Christ. But with so many different religions and
denominations how can one pinpoint what is and what isn t the appropriate respect for Christ? Further
dissection of this piece might lead one to believe it lacked respect for the Christian faith.
A final example of controversial art is Yo Mama s Last Supper by Renée Cox; this 5 (31 x 31 ) panel
photo shows Cox nude posed as Jesus, from Leonardo Da Vinci s Last Supper, surrounded by 12 fully
clothed male disciples, all of them Black with the exception of Judas, who was white. This was

So B By Sarah Weeks
The weird start
This story has a weird beginning. I thought that the first chapter of So B. by Sarah Weeks it was going
to be an introduction and all. But it was talking about dinosaur skin color. Then all these thing started
popping in my head like if the whole book will be about dinosaur skin color, why did the author
choose to start her story this way. This is why i choose to write an essay about it. But I found the first
sentence of the story unique, Something you won t see in other books.
The first sentence was, If the truth was a crayon and it was up to me to put a wrapper around it and
name its color, I know just what I would call it dinosaur skin. It didn t really make sense to me in the
beginning. It made me feel like the book was about dinosaur skin color or something i wonder why the
Author add that part and on the first chapter. The title of this chapter was Heidi, maybe the Author
thought that heidi the main character of the book liked dinosaurs, so she should include it in the story.

Cost reduction
Generally defined as the act of cutting costs to improve profitability.
Cost reduction, should therefore, not be confused with cost saving and cost control. Cost saving could
be a temporary affair and may be at the cost of quality. Cost reduction implies the retention of
essential characteristics and quality of the product and thus it must be confined to permanent and
genuine savings in the costs of manufacture, administration, distribution and selling, brought about by
elimination of wasteful and inessential elements form the design of the product and from the
techniques and practices carried out in connection therewith.

Contingent workforce management
Organizations are relying more heavily on contingent workers to meet critical staffing needs. As this
need continues to grow, the coordination of staffing suppliers and the ability to strategically administer
the process and control spend becomes paramount. Establishing clear, enterprise wide management
programs can ensure consistency, flexibility and responsiveness that drive results.
Successfully implementing a Contingent Workforce Management program requires a technology
solution with a foundation based on standardized efficient and effective processes. However, true
strategic optimization is difficult to achieve without a clear win win strategy and partnership within
your supply chain. Key to realizing a true partnership model is derived from a clear understanding of
the primary value proposition organizations may recognize within a structured program and how an
organization can leverage those vendor benefits in their quest to achieve true supply chain and flexible
workforce optimization.

Information Systems And Database Technology
Health information systems and database technology continue to advance and grow and allow users to

with fundamental concepts in relation to database systems and relevant health information standards.
We will also be comparing three of the top ten most purchased EHR systems for comparison, allowing
you to understand the functionality of each system, as well as, the barriers to implementation. A
database is a collection of information organized so that a computer program can quickly select
desired pieces of data. A database can be thought of as an electronic filing system. An example would
be how a large hospital uses and stores medical records. Most databases are organized by fields,
records, and files. Databases can be quite simple counting only a single table which is composed of a
record, which are made up of fields or can be large and contain many records and fields (Beaumont
2000). Databases can be paper based but most are computer based. Databases in computers are usually
handled by software called DataBase Management Systems (DBMS) (Beaumont 2000). These are a
collection of programs that enables you to organize, enter, and select data in a database. Some
examples are Oracle, Access and Paradox. Some components of DBMS include table and structured

Subtlety and Psychology in The Screwtape Letters by C.S....
The book, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, shows how Screwtape uses subtlety and psychology
when he is tempting human beings into sin. He plays with the patient s imagination, emotions, will,
and intellect. Also, he shows great shrewdness when encouraging sin that does not appear to be sin.
Screwtape shows effective psychology in encouraging the patient to displace intellect and will in
prayer with imagination and emotion, and he shows subtlety in encouraging gluttony of delicacy, pride
in humility, and superiority in being part of an elite Christian social circle. Screwtape uses psychology
to manipulate the patient into replacing the intellect and will in prayer with imagination and emotion.
To remind the patient of his childhood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, when the patient says, for example, All I want is a cup of tea... and the teeniest bit of
really crispy toast, the sin of greed is successfully and unnoticeably committed, because it is used to
obtain exactly what one wants. Also, the All I want way of acting can become a hassle to others as it
asks of them to go out of their way in order to make something perfect. Moreover, it could jeopardize
friendships because perfection can never be attained, and the dissatisfaction resulting from this causes
ill temper towards others. Furthermore, while gluttony of delicacy may avoid the sin of gluttony of
excess, it produces querulousness, impatience, uncharitableness, and self concern, counteracting the
attempt to avoid sin in the first place. Screwtape shows subtlety in encouraging gluttony of delicacy.
Smartly using the virtue of humility as a means of sin, Screwtape shows his subtlety when explaining
how easily humility can be turned into pride. Once the patient is sincerely acting humble, one has to
just enlighten him of his humility, and the prideful thought that he actually was just being humble will
spoil the grace filled moment. Also, another way to accomplish twisting the virtue of humility into
pride, is to make the patient forget the meaning of humility; make him believe that humility means to
think less of his talents and himself; this plants dishonesty into his soul where otherwise virtue could
have grown.

Latin American Overpopulation
The notation of what is a nation has changed greatly over time in Latin America. Two groups that
exemplifies that are the asian and indigenous population of Latin America. Both groups were
categorized differently throughout time and from each other. Countries in Latin America brought the
asian population as labor. This resulted in the asian workers being classified as solely foreign labor not
a part of the nation. Later the asian population will be seen more as an outside group than true
members of the country causing great tension between them and the natives . Most recently, the
population has been more accepted due to their mother country becoming a world power. Similarly,
the indigenous population notation of what a nation is has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The labor needed was due to the fact people from Latin America was scared of revolts from their labor
force, african slaves. The asian population was brought solely to replace the african slaves thus
resulting in a distance from them to the rest of the population. To the rest of the population, the asian
population were there to work, not as members of their nation. Nation did not included foreign
workers, well not if they were not white. Also the asian population was considered contract labor but
were treated like slaves. In the article Chinese Coolies And African Slaves In Cuba,1847 74 , by Lisa
Yun and Ricardo René Laremont, it was stated that because ]the horrific conditions of Chinese coolies
in Cuba ...that coolies were slaves in all but name. . This association of the asian workers with slaves
further demonstrates how the asian population was seen. Slaves at the time were thought of less than
human therefore so were the asian population. In addition the asian population was considered free for
they did not have the title of slave but in reality they had the same freedom as a slave. The asian
population were forced to work for a certain amount of years, usually eight, but the contractor/owner
could keep renewing their contract due to fees of travel and expenses the asian worker had. Even
though some asian workers did come willing, many were forced and/or kidnapped from their home.
Because the asian population were seen as less and not really free, the population was not considered
to be part of the nation they were working

The Changing Role Of Flappers In The 1920 s
The 1920s, out with the old and in with the new. The Roaring Twenties was the decade of change and
prosperity where women wanted to be acknowledged for how they looked and dressed. Young women
also became more independent. This is how the famous term of a flapper came to be. Flappers are
young women and teenagers who dressed and acted differently with controversial behavior.
Flappers brought a dramatic change to society that made women realize how they should be treated. In
the past, women had to be submissive all the time and not voice their opinions. Back in the early
centuries, women were involved in domestic violence and their husbands and boyfriends would
control how they looked and acted. After World War I, many young men who fought did not return
home. This left women to explore the world and try new things. They realized that life was too short
to do anything but have fun. (The Rise of the Flapper). The 1920s was finally the breakthrough of
change women had been waiting for for centuries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Feminism, the advocacy of women s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality
to men, increased dramatically. They want to be treated equally as men are. Bruce Blivens, an
observer of flappers from the 1920s, stated, Women have highly resolved that they are just as good as
men, and intend to be treated so...they don t intend to be debarred from any profession or occupation
which they choose to enter (The Flapper, Feminism and Flappers). This statement means that women
want to be treated as good as men without the boundaries of gender

The Wonderful Discoverie Of Elizabeth Sawyer, A Witch,...
In this document commentary I will be analysing and commentating on an extract from Henry
Goodcole s pamphlet, The Wonderful Discoverie of Elizabeth Sawyer, a Witch, late of Edmonton. Her
Conviction and Condemation and Death. (London, 1621). I will be seeing how if the contemporary
public felt the same way and how this relates to the history of witchcraft.
Henry Goodcole was a prison visitor and author [and was] best known for a series of criminal
biographies, arising from his experiences as ordinary and recounting his attempts to extort confessions
from the condemned in the prison . The most famous of his visits was to Elizabeth Sawyer, who was
suspected of being a witch. His pamphlet on the Sawyer case included the confession he had elicited
from the condemned witch while preparing her spiritually for execution .
Before sixteenth century, the ability to read and write was low. But during the century there was
growth in education for the public and illiteracy was decreasing. It is estimated that in 1600 about 10
per cent of women in England were literate; by 1700 this had risen to perhaps 30 per cent . In 1650 the
male literacy rate rose to almost a half . The biggest form of reading was through reading print and it
was this mode of literacy that provided the foundation for pamphlet culture . Despite the low literacy
rates many peoples workplaces allowed them to hear texts they could not read instead .
Elizabeth Sawyer, was a poor woman of obscure origins

Three Career In Nursing

Registered Nurse, and Dietitian. Each career will have a description of what they do, how they could
become one, skills, salary, and more. Each career has a specific reason why I choose these three
careers in particular. Reason why I choose Human Resource Manager is that I m currently pursuing
Human Resource Development major at Northeastern Illinois University. My second career choice is
Registered Nurse because nursing was my first major straight out of high school. Dietician is my third
career choice because I always had a passion to learn about eating healthy. First career researched I

that dietician doesn t have as much opportunity as nurses and Human Resource Managers. I have a
lack in few skills (critical thinking skills, detail oriented, emotional stability) to become a nurse or
dietician. I have all the necessary skills to become an HR such as decision making skills, leadership
skills, speaking skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. Two of my career values are
helping others and to influence others. I believe all the careers had a value of helping others and
influencing others. Nurses help patients. Dietician helps clients to make informed food choices, about
the foods they eat. My most important need is work life balance and stability. Work life balance is
having a job that allows time for family and work. Stability is having a job that won t change over a
long period of time. This is important to me because I care spending time with my family and friends.
I want stability because I value staying in one facility longer than moving around to other facilities.
My values can satisfy my needs and I feel happy when I get an opportunity helping others. All three

The Rana Plaza Building Collapse
The collapsing of the Rana Plaza building in the Dhaka suburb of Savar, is a tragic incident that
occurred on April 24, 2013 (Prashad 2013). The Rana Plaza building was the establishment that had
workers who were the commodity of the production of garments that are sold to the Western market. A
couple days post collapse, it was reported that the death toll was well into the triple digits. This paper
will draw on the details of pre and post Rana Plaza s collapsing while connecting it to Marx and
Engels ideologies in response to the four questions and/or issues. Marx s dialectical method and
thinking can be used to tackle the issue about the structural propensity of capitalism to be global
because he rejects the either or dichotomy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The biological analogy raised by the instructor can be used to interpret the aforementioned in the
simplest manner by visualizing a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly. Nonetheless, this is a naturally
occurring process and is the same way Marx wants the people to interpret the constant social change
that is the structural propensity of capitalism to be global. That being said, Marx again is a dialectical
thinker so believing only in constant change alone is one sided in his perspective. Another quote raised
by the instructor is the unity of opposites. Essentially, this quote ties in with the dialectical method and
suggests that although social change is inevitable in the eyes of Marx, it is at the same time not the
only thing happening. Rather, Marx is hinting that there is an underlying theme that constantly
remains the same. Simply put, this is the conflict between the capitalist and the worker, leading to the
next issue to be covered in this paper. Going back to the collapsing of the Rana Plaza, Prashad reveals
that there appears to be a trend of factory buildings collapsing in the twenty first century, specifically
poorly built shelters for a production process geared toward long working days, third rate machines,
and workers

Frankenstein´s Frankenstein And Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
There is something at work in my soul, which I do not understand. 1 Mary Shelley Frankenstein, a
novel written by Mary Shelley, was published in 1818, a first of its kind. The novel is considered to be
the first depiction of science fiction, with infused elements of the Gothic novel and romantic
movement. 2 Today this masterpiece largely influences literature studies and popular culture,
especially in the aspect of film creation. Various adaptations of Mary Shelley s Frankenstein has been
created, but the only motion picture that remains close to the novel is Kenneth Branagh s Mary
Shelley s Frankenstein (1994). The novel and film have made many details conspicuous for
comparison and contrast; details that related to the beginning, the monster s creation, and Elizabeth s
death and rebirth.
The novel and film have alike beginnings, yet there are features changed by Kenneth Branagh. Mary
Shelley s novel specifically started off with a letter written by Walton. The author chose letters from
another character to start ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kenneth Branagh follows through with creating the same setting as Mary Shelley did in the beginning
of her novel, yet leaves out details about the family s history and the death of Frankenstein s mother.
Similarly, the novel portrayed that Frankenstein did his own work, whereas the film displays that his
work was a continuation of Professor Waldman s. Related to the same scene, Mary Shelley spoke little
about Frankenstein s physical experimentation and how it was done, where in contrast it was the main
focus of the film. One point of clear difference is the ending. Even though Elizabeth dies in both the
novel and the film, Kenneth Branagh takes Elizabeth s character further. He does this by allowing her
to be reborn through Frankenstein s experimentation and by then killing her off as she sets herself on

Essay The Abortion Arguments of Cider House Rules
The Abortion Arguments of Cider House Rules
I am writing this essay on a Saturday evening, not with any real contemplation, or even planning. I am
writing this because I was just minutes ago watching the movie Cider House Rules. I won t go into the
plot of the movie, but, to explain my motivation for writing this, I will simply describe one portion of
the movie.
The scene at issue in my mind right now is one where a fourteen year old girl comes to the orphanage
which is the setting for part of the movie. This girl came to the orphanage because it was known in the
region as a place that performed abortions. She had had a crude abortion performed in such a way that
she had been severely injured (her uterus was punctured by a crochet ... Show more content on

In the movie, Homer is an orphan, and this may provide an interesting perspective in regards to the
status of the fetus. As an unwanted child himself, he empathizes with the unborn children that he
refuses to destroy.
So far, all we have talked about really is the emotion of the question of abortion. The purpose of this
essay (which will not be very long), is to examine these lines of reasoning, and to come to some
conclusion about the differing philosophies of these two characters.
The doctor s argument is, as I mentioned, very much a utilitarian one, and as you know, this sort of
argument doesn t sit well with me (see my Truth essays). Regardless of my perspective, though, the
doctor s first argument is one which many people (including some that I greatly respect) accept as a
good reason for legalized abortion. The doctor is making the very simple assessment that one death is
preferable to two. If the mother dies along with the baby, this is a waste and a shame, therefore he
feels as though he is obligated to perform an abortion that will not likely harm the young woman at
issue. Homer, on the other hand, takes a deontological stance he believes that his performing an
abortion is wrong, and that is as far as his reasoning has to go.
So far, the choice between philosophies is simple deontology or utilitarianism. In order to make the
choice a bit more relevant, allow me to

Little Bluestem-Dry Ecosystems
Little Bluestem Dry Mesic also occurs mostly in the Northern half of the park, primarily on the side
slopes of cuestas, seen in Figure #. The elevation of Little Bluestem Dry Mesic varies significantly. It
reaches from almost as low as 1290 feet up to 1335 feet (Keane, 2015). Due to this variance in
elevation, there is slightly more of a difference in soil qualities from higher to lower. The primary soil
type present is Benfield with some Dwight Irwin Complex occurring in the lowest elevations (USDA,
2015). The Benfield soil in this ecosystem is still relatively shallow with the A Horizon reaching a
depth of 10 feet and the next horizon, Bt1 reaching only another 9 feet down. The parent material for
Benfield is pedisediment over residuum weathered from shale, allowing for smaller clay particles to
form. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the Dwight Irwin soil has more of a deeper, moister quality. Benfield and Dwight Irwin soils
do allow for more species richness than other lower elevated ecosystems but due to the drier soils,
Little Bluestem is still the most dominant plant recorded. The dominance of Little Bluestem extends
down to the lowest boundaries of the ecosystem, indicating that the soil conditions do stay relatively
consistent, despite the change in soil type. This allows Little Bluestem to again be the dominant plant
species component. The drier qualities of the upper Benfield soil combine with the slightly moister
qualities of the lower Dwight Irwin soil to give the Dry Mesic classification. These soil moisture
content qualities, the location of this ecosystem along side slopes, and the consistent dominance of the
Little Bluestem plant species allows this ecosystem to be classified as Little Bluestem Dry

African American Literature Reflection Paper
Before starting this class, African American Literature, I wasn t too sure what to expect. I had never
taken an AFAS class before but I had heard great things from my friends so I decided to take one.
Professor Carter was an amazing professor and always sounded to extremely passionate and excited
during class which I found very admirable. The way he spoke about the different aspects of the class
and the different pieces of writing was very intriguing and always held my attention in class. We read
a variety of African American literature in this class which included novels, poems, and short stories
and each and every one of them related perfectly to what we were talking about during that time in
class. We studied different authors and their writing styles, as well as different eras including the
Harlem Renaissance.
The thing that set this class apart from the rest was the use of multimedia in the class. This included
the weekly voice threads, the live videos each class period, and the multimedia projects throughout the
semester. This was my favorite part of the class. I loved how the professor didn t just want us to
express our opinions of the literature in projects, but he wanted us to express our opinions in the most
creative ways. We were assigned weekly voice threads which allowed us to answer several questions
based off of our own opinions of the readings we read for class. Personally, I loved this because I felt
like I could proudly share what I felt about the reading

Why Cats Are Better Pets Than Dogs
Whether it is an inside cuddle buddy, or an outside mice killer, cats make wonderful pets. While dogs
stay dirty, drool, and bark, cats clean themselves, are clean animals, and meow quietly. Cats are warm
and fuzzy and love to cuddle while they take naps. Dogs are too rambunctious and energetic. Cats
make better pets than dogs.
Dogs can be good for people who are adventurous and outgoing. On the other hand, they are not good
for busy people, or people with jobs. Dogs have to get their energy out for them to be calm and
collected if they are inside dogs. If the dog is not an outside dog, then they have to run outside and get
exercise everyday. If a dog does not get their energy out they will most likely tear things up in the
house or run around

Trees Climbing Strategies For A Novel Tree Climbing
Abstract This paper focuses on tree climbing strategies for a novel tree climbing robot that is named as
Tree bot. The proposed concept aims to guide Tree bot in climbing along an optimal path by the use of
micro controller, minimal sensing resources and servo grippers. Inspired by inchworms, the concept
reconstructs the shape of a tree simply by the use of tactile sensors. It reveals how the realization of an
environment can be achieved with limited tactile information. An efficient motion planning strategy is
also proposed to make Tree bot climb on an optimal path. This is accomplished by the prediction of
the future shape of the tree. There are many requirements for motion in vertical direction. Climbing is
one of the means for accessing these matters.
Key words: Continuum, Tilt, Tactile, Semi passive I INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, there are many activities that require access in the vertical direction. Climbing is one of
the mean for accessing these matters. Whether indoors or outdoors operating environment will be
reflected in the climbing robot s design and ability to withstand different condition such as
maintenance work for tower, pick the fruit, industrial solutions and many more. The design of robot
will be determined by its intended applications
The classical way to implement the tree climbing robot is in a software manner or manually. Such an
approach is most general, easiest and least expensive among all the methods

3. How old are the rock formations in the area where you live and attend college or university? How
can you find out the answer to this question?
I live and attend college in the Valley of the Sun. Many of the rock formations here are extremely old
dating back nearly 2 billion years during a time period geologists called the Precambrian Period
(GeoHistory). Information to answer this question can be found in news articles, biology journals,
historical websites, and government and educational readings as well.
4. Choose one of the geologic periods or epochs listed in Figure 3.8 and find out all you can about it:
How are rocks from that period identified? What are its most characteristic fossils? Where are the best
samples of rocks from your chosen period found?
Rocks formed during the cretaceous period are identifiable in more ways than one would think. The
cretaceous period occurred at the end of the Mesozoic Era. Rocks such as limestone, basaltic, clays,
salts, gypsum, sandstone, conglomerates, and shale s were found during this time period (Cretaceous
Period). Sedimentary rocks hold many fossils of the predominant organisms to inhabit the planet Earth

thickness of their sequences, or by the fossils that are discovered in them. Some of the best samples of
rocks from this time period can be found right here in Arizona at the

Low Birth Weight
The World health organization (WHO) defined low birth weight (LBW) as weight at birth of less than
2,500 grams.
This practical cut off for international comparison is based on epidemiological observations that
infants weighing less than 2,500 grams are approximately 20 times more likely to die than heavier
babies [1]. The prevalence of LBW in any population reflects its socio economic development and it is
a good proxy to gauge the developmental status of the country [2].
Low birth weight is associated with many socioeconomic factors such as residence (urban rural

conditions such as nutritional status, mother s educational and health status

Education And Recidivism Essay
Though there is evidence that educational programs are needed to help in reducing crime, politicians
and policy makers have not really understood this finding and thereby support the programs they
assume are better suited at deterring criminals. Thus, they directed funding from educational programs
to other areas, such as in security and anger management or drug treatment (Batiuk et al 2005).
Furthermore, studies have shown that those inmates that are released from prison, about two thirds of
them end up being re incarcerated within three years of their release (Klein et al 2004). As a result,

However most of the research did in fact have controls for some of these risk factors indicated above,
thereby reducing structural inequalities that may be there in crime occurrence (Lori 2015). If there is
no control on these risk factors, it can be said that there is a correlation but no causation between
correctional education and recidivism, which is what most policymakers argue (Lori 2015). Public
opinion also has a big impact on political will and what policies will be implemented and how. Thus,
empirical research is more or less useless as it is hard to influence public opinion just by data (Latessa
2004). This can be seen historically, asin 1994, a law was signed in US called the Violent Crime
Control and Law Enforcement Act (VCCLEA) which was the one of the main reasons of budget cuts
of towards correctional education. VCCLEA allowed funding from the education programs to be used

white. (Par 1) He wanted to be white so that his artwork would be better accepted. Not only this young
Negro wanted to be white for him to be uplifted in the society, but also some other black people
wanted to be white as well for them to be estimated and respected.
According to Hughes, this statement of denying being black was the mountain standing in the way of
any true Negro art in America this urge within the race towards whiteness, the desire to pour racial
individuality into the mold of American standardization, and to be a little Negro and as much
American as possible. (Hughes, Para. 1). This wants to tell us how many blacks artists, felt it was
necessary to be white in order for themselves and their work to be accepted and recognized.
Hughes also talks about the state of the African American families of that period. In his second
paragraph, he says that, Negro middle

What Is The Story Of A Story
Many, many bitter faces were scrutinising me; it looked as though the whole town was there,
observing every shackled step I took. I would never harm one of the Smiths, especially Elizabeth, she
was like the daughter I never had. I had feared the worst when I found her. When I rushed to her aid
my fears became reality. Her cold body, lying in the soft, blood stained grass. Her lifeless eyes staring
blankly into mine.
Perhaps hundreds of people glaring right at me, as I marched slowly towards the front. The courtroom
scared me; I felt isolated. It wasn t the same feeling I got when I went for a morning walk around town
with plenty of white folks acting as if I was an alien. Looking at me in disgust, sometimes they would
even shout racist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A man with an apple like frame slowly approached me, Were you the house slave for the Smiths? he
asked. I slowly nodded. The man roared, Can you speak boy?
Yes sir, I can talk.
Then he grumbled, Tell us what happened on the night of little Elizabeth s death. I answered with
great caution including details about what had happened that dreadful night, although it did not seem
like he nor the large audience believed me.
As I returned to my seat, the man stayed on the floor and stated, A good dog is like a nigger. You can
get to know it, maybe some get to love it, it has no particular use but you keep it because you think it
loves you. Not too long ago a family dog killed the son of the same family. That dog mauled that boy
for no reason. Just got it in his head one day. Same as Marcellus, he may seem like a gentle giant,
however little Elizabeth stays raped and murdered. No criminal history, just the idea in his head one
day to kill.
Jessica, the mother of the Smith family, who was sitting in the front row of the seats, was sobbing
uncontrollably. If it was possible, the crowd became even more hostile than before.
When Eugene took the floor for one last fight for justice, he addressed the crowd with great emotion,
Some negroes lie, some are immoral, some negro men are not to be trusted around women black and
white. But this is a truth that

Ragged Dick Sparknotes
Ragged Dick by Horatio Alger. This story follows a young boy, who through hard work,
determination, self reliance, honesty and good character went from a homeless black boot to a
respectable, high paying job. This story is filled with examples of what life was like in New York City,
telling the us what he would find and experience in it. In Ragged Dick, This was a time of progress,
change and falsehood in American History. This is when people really started to chase the illusive
American dream, and Alger is trying to capture this rags to riches vision. The fact that the book takes
place in New York is not enough to understand the full extent of this book. At this time many
Americans were going through one of the hardest times in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One day Dick made a friend named Frank. Frank is different than Dick, he is not poor he was born
into a life of comfort. Franks Uncle Mr. Whitley, who Dick looks up to because he represents Dick s
aspirations in both money and status. Mr. Whiteley gave Dick one of his nephew s suits and that
completely changed Dick s socioeconomic rank. From the moment Dick get the grey suit from Mr.
Whitley and gets cleaned up not only does he receive better treatment, but in a scene where he and
Frank are accused of stealing something on a train, they are acquitted because they did not look like
the type of kids that would need to steal. Dick implies that clothes really do make the man, who is
largely determined by what one wears, that although appearances matter in Alger s world, it s
ultimately inner virtues like honesty, generosity, and courage that defines one s self and its potential.
Looks can be deceiving. When Dick has his suit on he is not known as Ragged Dick anymore. The
bank officer ends up calling him richard hunter. He said that Dick did not look ragged. Now that he is
dressing nice it is bringing him more attention in a positive way. In the poor parts of the streets he is
known as Ragged Dick, but when he is around people of a higher social class. He calls himself
Richard Hunter. For example after church he was talking to miss Ida What is your name? asked Ida,
pleasantly. Our hero was about to answer Ragged Dick, when it occurred to him that in the present

Exercise For Today s Youth
Daily exercise for today s youth will benefit them in the long term
I believe that physical fitness is very important regarding the overall health of adolescents.
Throughout the growing years of teens, our bodies are always changing and with these changes which
are both emotional well as physical, our bodies require more and more activity, allowing the body to
burn energy along with extra calories.
Although many people may feel that concerns relating to physical fitness in adolescents should be the
absolute responsibility of parents, I personally believe that our educational system can also play a very
important role in ensuring that teens are getting a reasonable amount of physical activity within the
course of the school day. As an adolescent, I personally enjoy being involved in sports which is
inclusive of physical activity. The teenage years are important in terms of both mental and physical
development, and staying fit during adolescence can have benefits that are both physical and
psychological. Good or poor fitness habits that a teenager develops during his or her adolescence are
likely to last a lifetime, and studies have shown that exercise can be beneficial to a teen s overall
health while also promoting a positive body image.
The above graph represents a percentage of children. It breaks down the children into three age groups
and starts with kindergarten. It also focuses on 6th graders and 9th graders. The numbers reflect the
percentage of children

Prices rose so fast that workers had to take shopping breaks to spend their twice a day paychecks before they became worthless (Schiller, 2013). During this time of inflation, prices more than doubled every day causing people the inability to save, invest, lend money, or make any long term plans. According to B. R. These are scenarios of inflation and deflation, respectively, though in the real world inflation and deflation are changes in the average price of all goods and services, not just one (Moffatt, n.d.). There are a several ways to measure inflation The GDP deflator, the Product Price Index, or the Consumer Price Index. The GDP deflator is a price index that refers to all goods and services included in GDP. The Product Price Index program measures the average change over time in the selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. The prices included in the Product Price Index are from the first commercial transaction for many products and some services. Finally, the most common measure of inflation is the Consumer Price Index (CPI). To overcome these challenges, Aeneas seeks help from the gods as he tries to make his way back home. In Homer s The Odyssey , the hero Odysseus spends ten years trying to return to his homeland, Ithaca. Both heroes face similar challenges that they need to overcome in order to accomplish their goals. The Odyssey has two characters that hinder the hero s journey; Calypso and Circe. The Aeneid has the character Dido who delays Aeneas journey. This essay will compare both stories, showing similarities and differences of how the hero s journey was delayed. • 14. Positive And Negative Effects Of Technological Change Technological change is an increase in the efficiency of a process (usually done by a machine) which results in more output, but without input having been increased (Winston, n.d). A specific level of technological advancement is necessary for productivity and growth in the economy of a country. The absence of proper technological change retards the economic growth and technological change has impacted the world by creating new products and processes, increasing efficiency and lowering costs, and helping economies evolve. Structural unemployment is the situation when the jobs are available and workers are willing work, but they don t have the required job skills to qualify for the vacant positions or just simply the mismatch between the jobs available and the skill levels of the unemployed. Technological change may make some skills obsolete or require new ones. For example, the introduction of personal computers since the 1980s, has lowered demand for typists who lacked computer skills (Rittenberg Tregarthen. 2012, p 216). Technological changes have negative effects on employment. It negatively affects the value the value of workers and automated processes and other technology have become more important to the process of increasing output. Since July 21, 2005, China has adopted a managed floating rate regime based on market supply and demand with reference to a basket of undisclosed currency. The daily trading price of the U.S. dollar against RMB in the foreign exchange market will be allowed to float within a band of +/ 0.3% around the central parity published by People s Bank of China. However, they soon ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The change in the exchange rate policy to move to a more flexible floating exchange rate system will inevitably compromise China s current advantageous position in trading especially the export which takes a heavy weight in China s GDP. The appreciation of RMB will deprive the Chinese enterprises of the advantage to leverage the cheap materials and labor to compete in the international market. This might be a positive indication for China s importers who has a focus on the domestic markets rather than the international market, where the importers purchasing power gets enhanced if the domestic currency appreciate. However, China is still heavily relying on export to grow their GDP at this point and a revaluation of RMB would be very dangerous for the country. Thousands of factories counting on exports might be closed and millions of workers would lose their jobs. As pointed out by Morgan Stanley Economist Andy Xie in the case, China s priority is stability and currency flexibility should not be allowed to conflict with this goal . On the flip side though, a revaluation of the RMB would not necessarily change the current situation of US and EU who had a large trade deficit with China. Religious Sensitivities And Art Savannah Lewis Many artists have broken old traditions by allowing a shroud of their faith and many others have not needed or intended to do so. The clash between religion and art beckons controversy and the wrath of family and community. Despite the sensitivities, ideas, or faiths of any given group or person, religion should not create taboo stipulations on any type of art. [1a] The word taboo On the one hand it means to us sacred, consecrated: but on the other hand it means, uncanny, dangerous, forbidden, and unclean. It is one of the modern poster children for a stand against consumerism. The controversy jams the gears because of the fact that it is taboo , meshing a religious icon with a logo that isn t habitually associated with religion immediately turns into something perceived as disrespectful. Another example of controversial art is Piss Christ by Andres Serrano. It is a photo of a crucifix submerged in Serrano s urine. But with so many different religions and denominations how can one pinpoint what is and what isn t the appropriate respect for Christ? Also, the All I want way of acting can become a hassle to others as it asks of them to go out of their way in order to make something perfect. Moreover, it could jeopardize friendships because perfection can never be attained, and the dissatisfaction resulting from this causes ill temper towards others. Furthermore, while gluttony of delicacy may avoid the sin of gluttony of excess, it produces querulousness, impatience, uncharitableness, and self concern, counteracting the attempt to avoid sin in the first place. Smartly using the virtue of humility as a means of sin, Screwtape shows his subtlety when explaining how easily humility can be turned into pride. • 25. The Changing Role Of Flappers In The 1920 s The 1920s, out with the old and in with the new. The Roaring Twenties was the decade of change and prosperity where women wanted to be acknowledged for how they looked and dressed. Young women also became more independent. This is how the famous term of a flapper came to be. Flappers are young women and teenagers who dressed and acted differently with controversial behavior. Flappers brought a dramatic change to society that made women realize how they should be treated. In the past, women had to be submissive all the time and not voice their opinions. Back in the early centuries, women were involved in domestic violence and their husbands and boyfriends would control how they looked and acted. After World War I, many young men who fought did not return home. This left women to explore the world and try new things. They realized that life was too short to do anything but have fun. Her Conviction and Condemation and Death. (London, 1621). I will be seeing how if the contemporary public felt the same way and how this relates to the history of witchcraft. Henry Goodcole was a prison visitor and author [and was] best known for a series of criminal biographies, arising from his experiences as ordinary and recounting his attempts to extort confessions from the condemned in the prison . The most famous of his visits was to Elizabeth Sawyer, who was suspected of being a witch. His pamphlet on the Sawyer case included the confession he had elicited from the condemned witch while preparing her spiritually for execution . Before sixteenth century, the ability to read and write was low. But during the century there was growth in education for the public and illiteracy was decreasing. It is estimated that in 1600 about 10 per cent of women in England were literate; by 1700 this had risen to perhaps 30 per cent . In 1650 the male literacy rate rose to almost a half . The biggest form of reading was through reading print and it was this mode of literacy that provided the foundation for pamphlet culture . The biological analogy raised by the instructor can be used to interpret the aforementioned in the simplest manner by visualizing a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly. Nonetheless, this is a naturally occurring process and is the same way Marx wants the people to interpret the constant social change that is the structural propensity of capitalism to be global. That being said, Marx again is a dialectical thinker so believing only in constant change alone is one sided in his perspective. Another quote raised by the instructor is the unity of opposites. Essentially, this quote ties in with the dialectical method and suggests that although social change is inevitable in the eyes of Marx, it is at the same time not the only thing happening. Rather, Marx is hinting that there is an underlying theme that constantly remains the same. Simply put, this is the conflict between the capitalist and the worker, leading to the next issue to be covered in this paper. I am writing this because I was just minutes ago watching the movie Cider House Rules. The scene at issue in my mind right now is one where a fourteen year old girl comes to the orphanage which is the setting for part of the movie. In the movie, Homer is an orphan, and this may provide an interesting perspective in regards to the status of the fetus. As an unwanted child himself, he empathizes with the unborn children that he refuses to destroy. So far, all we have talked about really is the emotion of the question of abortion. The purpose of this essay (which will not be very long), is to examine these lines of reasoning, and to come to some conclusion about the differing philosophies of these two characters. The doctor s argument is, as I mentioned, very much a utilitarian one, and as you know, this sort of argument doesn t sit well with me (see my Truth essays). Regardless of my perspective, though, the doctor s first argument is one which many people (including some that I greatly respect) accept as a good reason for legalized abortion. The doctor is making the very simple assessment that one death is preferable to two. If the mother dies along with the baby, this is a waste and a shame, therefore he feels as though he is obligated to perform an abortion that will not likely harm the young woman at issue. Homer, on the other hand, takes a deontological stance he believes that his performing an abortion is wrong, and that is as far as his reasoning has to go. So far, the choice between philosophies is simple deontology or utilitarianism. In order to make the choice a bit more relevant, allow me to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Due to this variance in elevation, there is slightly more of a difference in soil qualities from higher to lower. The primary soil type present is Benfield with some Dwight Irwin Complex occurring in the lowest elevations (USDA, 2015). The Benfield soil in this ecosystem is still relatively shallow with the A Horizon reaching a depth of 10 feet and the next horizon, Bt1 reaching only another 9 feet down. This allows Little Bluestem to again be the dominant plant species component. The drier qualities of the upper Benfield soil combine with the slightly moister qualities of the lower Dwight Irwin soil to give the Dry Mesic classification. The proposed concept aims to guide Tree bot in climbing along an optimal path by the use of micro controller, minimal sensing resources and servo grippers. Inspired by inchworms, the concept reconstructs the shape of a tree simply by the use of tactile sensors. It reveals how the realization of an environment can be achieved with limited tactile information. An efficient motion planning strategy is also proposed to make Tree bot climb on an optimal path. This is accomplished by the prediction of the future shape of the tree. There are many requirements for motion in vertical direction. Climbing is one of the means for accessing these matters. Key words: Continuum, Tilt, Tactile, Semi passive I INTRODUCTION Nowadays, there are many activities that require access in the vertical direction. This was because white people looked down on them during that era. He shows this by expressing his disappointment with a statement made by one of the most promising of the young Negro poets who says that, I want to be a poet not a Negro poet, meaning behind that, I want to be white. (Par 1) He wanted to be white so that his artwork would be better accepted. Not only this young Negro wanted to be white for him to be uplifted in the society, but also some other black people wanted to be white as well for them to be estimated and respected. According to Hughes, this statement of denying being black was the mountain standing in the way of any true Negro art in America this urge within the race towards whiteness, the desire to pour racial individuality into the mold of American standardization, and to be a little Negro and as much American as possible. (Hughes, Para. 1). This wants to tell us how many blacks artists, felt it was necessary to be white in order for themselves and their work to be accepted and recognized. I answered with great caution including details about what had happened that dreadful night, although it did not seem like he nor the large audience believed me. As I returned to my seat, the man stayed on the floor and stated, A good dog is like a nigger. You can get to know it, maybe some get to love it, it has no particular use but you keep it because you think it loves you. Not too long ago a family dog killed the son of the same family. That dog mauled that boy for no reason. Just got it in his head one day. Same as Marcellus, he may seem like a gentle giant, however little Elizabeth stays raped and murdered. No criminal history, just the idea in his head one day to kill. Jessica, the mother of the Smith family, who was sitting in the front row of the seats, was sobbing uncontrollably. If it was possible, the crowd became even more hostile than before. When Eugene took the floor for one last fight for justice, he addressed the crowd with great emotion, Some negroes lie, some are immoral, some negro men are not to be trusted around women black and white. • 46. Exercise For Today s Youth Daily exercise for today s youth will benefit them in the long term I believe that physical fitness is very important regarding the overall health of adolescents. Throughout the growing years of teens, our bodies are always changing and with these changes which are both emotional well as physical, our bodies require more and more activity, allowing the body to burn energy along with extra calories. Although many people may feel that concerns relating to physical fitness in adolescents should be the absolute responsibility of parents, I personally believe that our educational system can also play a very important role in ensuring that teens are getting a reasonable amount of physical activity within the course of the school day. As an adolescent, I personally enjoy being involved in sports which is inclusive of physical activity. The teenage years are important in terms of both mental and physical development, and staying fit during adolescence can have benefits that are both physical and psychological. Good or poor fitness habits that a teenager develops during his or her adolescence are likely to last a lifetime, and studies have shown that exercise can be beneficial to a teen s overall health while also promoting a positive body image.
