Essay On William Shakespeare Biography
Crafting an essay on the biography of William Shakespeare is no small feat. While the subject
matter is undoubtedly rich and captivating, the challenge lies in distilling the immense life and
legacy of one of the greatest playwrights in history into a coherent and engaging narrative. The
vastness of Shakespeare's works, the intricacies of his personal life, and the historical context in
which he lived create a complex tapestry that demands careful research and thoughtful analysis.
Delving into Shakespeare's biography requires navigating through a myriad of sources, ranging
from historical records to literary criticism. Each stage of his life, from his early years in
Stratford-upon-Avon to his prolific career in London's theater scene, presents a unique set of
challenges. Unraveling the enigma of his identity, as both a man of the theater and a private
individual, adds an additional layer of complexity.
The task is not just about recounting facts but also about interpreting them in a way that captures
the essence of Shakespeare's impact on literature and the human experience. Analyzing the
influences that shaped his writing, exploring the thematic depth of his plays and sonnets, and
reflecting on his enduring cultural significance are integral components of such an essay.
Furthermore, the challenge lies not only in presenting a comprehensive overview of
Shakespeare's life but also in doing so in a manner that captivates and resonates with the reader.
Crafting a narrative that is both informative and engaging, balancing the scholarly with the
accessible, requires a delicate touch.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the biography of William Shakespeare demands a
combination of research prowess, critical thinking, and literary finesse. It is a journey into the
life and times of a literary giant, a task that involves not only chronicling historical facts but also
interpreting the enduring impact of his work on the world of literature. For those seeking
assistance in navigating this intricate task or exploring a variety of essay topics, comprehensive

Statement Of Environmental Engineering
When I think about the different realms of science and engineering, it is difficult to
think of a domain that is going to change the world as much as environmental
engineering will, in the decades ahead.
Humanity has always engineered the environment around us. From the earliest days
of wetland drainage and the need to acquire fresh water, to keep it flowing and keep
it clean enough to drink, building cesspits to take away our waste and to stop
pollution of vital waterways, we have always strived to maximize our sanitation and
living conditions in order to expand and survive. Since the industrial revolution in the
19th century we have needed to prevent businesses and individuals from polluting the
environment with harmful substances. Thus the need for proper utilization of our
resources and waste management is greater than ever before. Research in the field
continues at a more ferocious pace than ever, faster ... Show more content on

Growing up, hearing about wastewater treatment plants, effluent treatment plants or
EIAs was a daily occurrence. This encouraged me to develop interest in this field
and consequently led to an industrial visit to an ETP at the age of 13 years. This
was at an ETP that my grandfather had designed and commissioned at
Pharmaceutical Plant in the year of 2006. In fact, I ascribe my decision to pursue
this field to that particular phase of my life.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at the Dharmsinh Desai
University with the grade First Class with Distinction . I finished my Baccalaureate
in May 2015 scoring among the top 12 students in my class and top 5 in
Environmental Engineering, which I believe, betrays my love for the subject.
During the final year of my undergraduate degree, I received an internship
opportunity at Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers, to work on a soil and

An assessment of the level of consciousness (LOC) should be carried out during the
primary survey of all patients, using the ABCDE approach Cole (2009: 28). Any
initial or subsequent reduction in the LOC of the patient may be caused by hypoxia;
hypovolaemia; head injury; drug or medicine use; hypoglycaemia; hypothermia or
alcohol ingestion (Cole, 2009:44).
An assessment of the LOC of the patient is vital for an accurate pain assessment and
the administration of analgesia, and the subsequent assessment of its efficacy (Rose,
et al. 2011). Regular evaluation of a patient s LOC helps detect the onset of
hypothermia and hypovolaemia. Muehlberger, et al. (2010) state that the

Staff assessing these patients found themselves recording GCS scores lower than
what they felt was appropriate.
Since the GCS became widely adopted and its use became expanded beyond the
original intention of the scale, certain additional limitations have been identified
(Laureys, 2005). Verbal responses become difficult or impossible to assess when
patients have been sedated or intubated (Majerus, 2005).
Some clinicians feel that scoring eye opening is not sufficient to indicate brainstem
arousal and a number of coma scales have been proposed that include brainstem
reflexes, most of them more complex than the GCS scale (Majerus, 2005). The
Glasgow LiГЁge scale is the simplest variation proposed (Born, et al., 1982). It
combines the GCS with five brainstem reflexes, but has not been widely implemented
outside Belgium, its country of origin (Laureys, 2005).
Finally, the remaining weaknesses of the GCS scale relate to the assessment of
comatose patients. The GCS becomes unreliable in ongoing care for monitoring coma
and recovery through vegetative or minimally conscious states, before returning to
consciousness (Laureys, 2005).
The main advantage of the GCS is its simplicity, allowing it to be utilised by the full
range of clinicians, with a minimal amount of training (Matis, 2008).

Greek Funerals Death
The Loss of a Loved One
Have you ever wondered how other culture s funerals play out? Diverse cultures have
different religions. Therefore, funerals and mourning look different depending on
their religion. The Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mourning and funerals are strange,
fascinating, and somewhat gross. Roman funerals and mourning were precise, and
had peculiar ways in completing them. The structure of the funeral depended on
whether the deceased person was rich, famous, or poor. A process called the
Procession was a time of mourning and respect for the dead. If the deceased was
wealthy or famous, they always had flashier funerals then the poor. They would hire
musicians, mimes, and sometimes professional mourners, who would rip ... Show

An Egyptian funerary ritual consists of death and the soul s journey to the afterlife.
Historian Bunson once said, Eternity was the common destination of each man,
women and child in Egypt , however, not an Egypt in the clouds or sky, but one that
mirrored one s life on earth. The Fields of Reeds was the Egyptian afterlife which
was a perfect reflection of the deceased s life on earth. These burial rites were
practiced as early as 4000 BCE and help reflect this vision of eternity. Next was the
mummification process, which was practiced in Egypt as early as 3500 BCE.
After a person had died, the family would bring the body to embalmers. Then the
embalmers would offer three choices to the bereaved. The first was (Ikram, 53)
which involved the family agreeing upon a price and leaving the task to the
embalmers. For ( Ikram, 53) the embalmers would have the internal organs
removed, to help preserve the body. Then the organs were put in jars and left in
tomb with the wrapped body. The second chose was (Osiris) and it was the most
expensive of the three choices. If this process is chosen the body is laid out on a
table and the brain is extracted from the body, before they deceased is wrapped and
buried. The last choice of the three is (Nardo, 110) which represents the cheapest of
them all. In this choice nothing was removed from the body, the embalmers would
simply wash out the intestines
The Image Of Blood In A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah
Ishmael Beah has been through just about everything a soldier in can experience
while in war, and he wants to show how war is not a good solution. If we do not take
what he says into account, loved ones may be taken from us and have to experience
what he once did as a soldier. Or worse, our loved ones could be killed by one of the
many destructions caused by war. The blood shed on the battlefields of warcould be
our own if people don t listen to what Beah is trying to tell about war. Beah uses the
image of blood throughout this book to show why war is not a good answer. He
could have lessened the image of blood if he wanted his take on war to be
portrayed differently. Blood was chosen as the image because the main purpose of
war is to prevent future blood shed from occurring, but it really just creates more
casualties and more blood shed. By looking at the way Beah portrays the image of
blood in A Long Way Gone , one can see that his view on war is not a positive one,
which is important because the way Beah depicts war is vital to Beah s story and the
overall tone of the book.
In a village, at the time of a rebel attack, Beah sees a mother carrying her baby on her
back. The baby is covered in blood, and its mother is covered in her baby s blood.
The baby plays a huge part in imagery in A Long Way Gone. I see a mother carrying
her dead child on her back (Beah pg. 13). Beah sees this horrific image himself. The
baby was killed while a war scene was occurring in the
A Study Of An Off Shore Based Wind Energy Power Plant

Abstract Wind energy is an affordable, efficient and abundant source of electricity.
The wind energy farms are differed as of on shore and off shore. Though wind
energy seems to be an solution for growing world energy needs its there are hurdles
in its generation. This article will discuss about a case study of an off shore based
wind energy power plant and discuss about basic analysis types and their
corresponding application in WT s system safety aiming to let more experts deeply
understand the current research status. We shall also discuss about recent innovation
in Wind turbinetechnology and our own idea of using the latest innovation in different
area.
INTRODUCTION
Wind Energy has been the most growing renewable energy source as far as the
usage and installation are concerned. Nations around the world realized risk of
persistent use of non renewable sources for power generation and began to invest in
alternate and more reliable renewable energy sources such as Solar, Wind, Tidal, Bio
Gas etc. Off late its been the Wind Energy that is being capitalized as a source for
power generation with significant installations around the globe. With the speed and
continuity of wind being vital in the power generation from the turbines, locating the
terrains for turbine installation holds the key.
Off shore having an edge over onshore:
With the persistent winds being vital for power generation as we know the point of
turbine installation should be favourable for that. With
I Want to Become an Architect
Ever since I was young, I have admired intricate buildings and structures. I have
always appreciated a nice, well thought out home because I do believe home is
where the heart is. I have done lots of research on architecture, and what it takes to
become an architect. I am naturally drawn to this career because it requires lots of
creativity and an eye for design. Being an architectalso allows you to interact with
people, which is important to me because I am a social person. It also is a steady job
and brings in a good salary.
Through research, I have learned what exactly architects do before starting projects,
and while working on projects. A usual day for an architect usually consists in two
settings: the office, or sometimes the construction site where their idea is put to life.
Usually in the office, they are meeting with clients, preparing project specifications,
and completing requirements and objectives for upcoming projects. They also have
to know how to manage construction contracts and create scaled drawings by hand
however, preparing drawings by computer design technology is more common these
days with new advanced, efficient computer programs. The typical day in the
office for an architect sounds nothing but ideal for me. One in five architects is
self employed, which is a significant number of self employed architects, and
architects held 107,400 jobs in 2012. It would be ideal for me to be self employed in
my future because I like to be the boss and I am very

Academic Success among College Athletes Do student athletes make the most of
their opportunity to obtain a post secondary education? Do they have the same
academic success as those students that are not athletes? Are student athletes just
dumb jocks? The answers to these questions might surprise you. Much research has
been done to dispel the myth that athletes going to collegeare only there to play sports
with little regard to their education. Programs have been created to assure that
colleges and universities hold athletes to the same standards as the everyday student.

Board of Education, understates the academic success of athletes. The GSR was
established based on the number of scholarship student athletes who graduate each
year and more accurately reflects the movement among college student athletes
(NCAA). The GSR takes into account incoming transfers who graduate from a
different institution than the one they started at and transfers who leave an institution
in good standing (Rangel). The GSR serves as an information tool for prospective
student athletes and a comparison of each sports success between institutions
(Rangel). The GSR is useful in accessing a school s commitment to education for
student athletes.
As Academic Performance Ratings and Graduation Success Rates climb, one begins
to realize that student athletes are not just dumb jocks. In actuality, compared to the
general population of students, athletes have a higher overall graduation rate. The
national graduation rate for athletes is 64 percent, while the graduation rate for all
students is only 62 percent (Lawler). The NCAA has made great strides in making
sure schools work to turn out educated jocks.

Analysis Of The Community Is Anomic, By Kirst Ashman
Watts Community is anomic, According to Kirst Ashman (2014) anomic refers to a
failed community which is dysfunctional and provides little social support. An
anomic community has not or does not take advantage of outside linkages; there is
no sense of belonging to the community. Some conditions that illustrate the Watts
neighborhood is anomic are the residentsof the communitylive in fear and do not trust
each other. The community fails to address persistent problems poverty,
unemployment, and lack of financial resources for education. Also, the community
was alienated and isolated from interacting with other sections of the city. They lived
in poor housing conditions. Gangs, guns, crime, destruction, and drugs surrounded
the neighborhood. There was no investment in the schools or the children of the
community. The community was not in harmony with each other. Through
stratification, political discrimination occurred, based on their wealth and social,
economic status. Residents of the city lacked purpose which brought on depression.
There is no identity among the citizens. Oppression, discrimination, and unjust
treatment are just a few issues that plagued the community. Researchers Williams and
Kristin (2010) states historically, trauma is the result of stressful events that
overwhelms an individual ability to cope with stressors and life events. African
Americans suffered from multiple injuries as a result of slavery, racism, and
discrimination. Community is
Religion Influence Religion
All over the world, religion is influencing societies in both good and bad ways. After
all, for most people, religion is how many find a purpose in life, and is a guide that
helps them make decisions throughout life. People want explanations for the
unexplainable and want answers to the most unanswerable questions, so many people
resort to religionas a way to explain why life is the way it is. Having faith and
believing in a religion can bring civilizations together and help find common ground
in a world where people have differences. People have religion to shape the way
people treat life on earth, and the way people interact with their community and have
a sense of spirit as an individual. Throughout history, religion has influenced... Show

While in Judaism there is a ceremony that is the acceptance of the religion called
Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Although the whole process is different from the Christian
confirmation both are processes where teenagers are becoming a part of the
religion. In Bar/Bat Mitzvah a boy, who is 13, or a girl, who is 12, become
responsible for their own actions and make their own religious path. These are just
a few of the similarities of these two very similar religions, but the religions also
have differences. Judaism, doesn t believe in the New Testament of the Bible, while
Christians believe in the New Testament, which consists of Jesus s teachings, and
have it as the part of their holy text. Another example of a difference is the way the
process of acceptance into the religion. Bar/Bat Mitzvah had different ages for
different genders and was a lot more specific about what the acceptance meant. While
Confirmation is teenagers who wants to become a Christian and become part of the
religion. From these examples one can tell that the religions are very similar and
different in many different ways. Not only is Judaism similar and different to
Christianity but also another religion founded in the Arabian Peninsula. Islam, another
monotheistic religion, also has some comparable characteristics with Judaism. Islam
and Judaism have some eating requirements that are used to prove faith towards
religion and show that spiritual health is more important than physical health.

Graphic Design is a form of visual communication where one uses images, shapes,
colors, and text to convey ideas and concepts. The field of graphic design
encompasses many different sub sections including web design and printmaking,
however, the field of graphic design is not very heavy on professional writing.
Instead graphic designutilizes images to convey messages and concepts. Throughout
this essay I will explore the formatting styles, genres and uses of writing, and how
writing and rhetorical skills are translated into design skills. Formatting styles such

The main genres of writing within the field include proposal writing and technical
writing. Many articles I have found use specific terms associated with the field of
Graphic Design. For example, the article Primary Design Elements Found in
Outstanding Digital Illustrations, by a designer called LoungeKat, outlines and
explains various elements of design such as negative space, implied texture, and
monochromatic uses of color. Articles such as this one are mainly written to help
designers improve their technique and develop a better understanding of how to
create meaningful designs. Within this specific genre of technical writing,
designers require an understanding of ethos because their audience need to feel
that they are a credible source in the graphic design field. Specifically, within
LoungeKat s article, technical terminology is utilized to develop that ethos as well
as specific examples. However, a majority of the article utilizes simple language
rather than advanced language. Many articles about graphic design maintain that
sense of simplicity in their writing as well. I assume this is because the field is not
heavy on writing or research and instead it focuses on art and visual designs so
there is no need to use such a formal or advanced way of writing. In addition,
credible sources such as peer journals are very important in many fields of work
because they can be trusted to provide reliable information. During the interview I

No one releases that doing something so harmful to one s body and self esteem is a
way of escaping life. When it comes to Aboriginal healing there has to be a self
discovery of mind, body, spirit, and emotional health that needs to be aligned
before an addict can fight off the demons (White Bison, 2002). Addictions often
begin with trying to coping stated above with a high level of stress, pain
(emotional and physically), and even mental illnesses that have or haven t been a
diagnosis. Living within a community that is lost many people can t get out of the
destructive circle. Having parents not being around because they are working on
addiction themselves allows for children to become lost or even accept that this is
where they will stay for the rest of their lives. Social stigmas only add to these
problems when one feels the need to hide who they or their family members are, the
feelings they have, and hiding that alcohol or drugs made them feel better instead of
looking for the help that is needed when the feeling of need the drug of choice

Why Did the Communist Party Win the 1935 Election Simulation? In a time where
the economy is suffering and people are struggling, a strong government is needed
to help everyone achieve success. As a result, the Communist party won the 1935

targeted the Conservatives, one of the main political parties. First and foremost,
Tim Buck, the leader of the Communist party, addressed the concerns of nearly
every voting bloc at the election. One of the concerns of recent immigrants was the
perception that they will work for less and are taking away jobs from the other

Olaf s Transformation
There are many stories of Olaf told by the people from his village. There is a story
about Olaf defeating a dragon in face to face combat to protect his village or him
racing down a mountain of lava. But this is the story of how Olaf got his shield.
Long time ago, Olaf was a simple shepherd, living in the mountains above his
village. He was very well known for being the kindest man anyone had ever met.
He always had a smile on his face. Tales about him say he could chop down trees
with his bare hands, and that strength was useful while helping others. Every time
someone was in trouble, Olaf was there to help. He ripped trees from the roots to
stop river flow, to save drowning goats, and he put out fires burning the village all on

giant club, about the size of a tree. The troll charged like a frantic bull. Olaf wasn t
worried, he stood his ground and put the little boy behind. The troll bashed Olaf
with his club, but Olaf did not shift from his position. The troll was big and strong,
but he was no match for Olaf s might. Olaf grabbed the club with one hand, and
crushed it with the sheer force of his palm. He picked up the troll and spun him
around like a helicopter, before hurling him deep into the mountain. The troll was
defeated, and the boy was rescued. But then suddenly the ground began to rumble
and shake once again, had the troll returned? No, the vault, it was crumbling apart!
As Olaf cut his way through the mountain, he had weakened the structure, and now
it was caving in. The ceiling began to decay, Olaf covered the boy with his back.
With no obvious way out, Olaf grabbed the ice covered door, and held it up like a

Living with dignity without any discrimination based on sex community place of
birth is presumed to be the basic structure of Indian constitution. Women lived in
India under the dominance of man and always suppressed for their rights. The rights
guaranteed to the women are at par with the rights of men and in some cases the
women have been allowed to enjoy the benefit of certain special provisions in the
interest of women and children through state legislation and affirmative action. The
reservations for women in politics and employment have played a key role in putting
up the status of women in the main stream of the society.
3Ancestral property and Hindu Women The rights of women to succeed to any
property vary from one religion to other depending on the personal laws followed
by them. The religion played a very important role in the devolution of property on
the woman in the earlier days. Initially the entire law of succession was un codified
but with the advent of modern governments and legislatures, most of the succession
laws have been codified and consolidated. However there is no uniformity in the
succession law relating to women of different religions. In India, the women had a
secondary status with regard to the succession. In order to abolish the inequities
related to right to property certain legislations were enacted for different religions like
Main Reasons For The Fall Of Rome Essay
Julius Caesar once said, It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to
find those who are willing to endure pain with patience. The Ancient Roman
Empire was one of the world s greatest empires. Beginning in around 750 BCE with
a small settlement no one knew it would become a great empire making many
discoveries that we still live by today. Although the empire was strong they started
to run into some problems. Starting in 44 BCE with Caesar becoming emperor and
continuing into 500 CE, the city was declining fast. Although some researchers
may say that natural disasters were the main reason for the decline of Rome,
however the primary reasons for the decline of Rome were political corruption and
military mistakes. Political corruption was a main reason for the fall of Rome
because there were higher class people trying to take all the power which made
many people unhappy causing assassinations and unfairness. Military mistakes
were also a big problem because the military was too lazy to fight causing invasions
and unnecessary deaths. To begin with, political corruption was a major reason
leading to the fall of Rome. Leaders were jealous, selfish, and unfair to the poor.

Introduction
Impact of Birthing Practices on Breastfeeding was written by, Linda J. Smith and
Mary Kroeger, to inform readers of the advances in childbirth and breastfeeding. The
title of the book focuses on breastfeeding because it was written during a time when
two popular and very different views on breastfeeding existed. The question of
whether or not to breastfeed your newborn is of important concern to both the
mother and nurse. This book provides information on the many benefits of
breastfeeding in the mother and newborn with the goal to increase the number of
mothers and healthcare professionals who adopt these practices (Smith Kroeger,
2010). This paper gives a brief statement about the purpose of this book, a detailed
summary of the major topics found within the book, a discussion of recent blog
entries from other group members, and finally, a commentary of my personal feelings
about the book and the role of the nurse in the childbearing process.
Purpose of Book This book is very informative and serves many purposes. First, it
demonstrates one of life s miracles the childbirth process. Second, this book provides
evidence and research findings that shape nursing care practices to promote a greater
well being in both the mother and newborn. Third, this book serves as a resource for
healthcare
An Analysis Of Darth Vader
This political cartoon illustrated by Greg Perry depicts the famous antagonist of
the movie saga Star Wars, Darth Vader. He is shown with facial features like
Canada s former Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. Darth Vader is shown grasping a
copy of an article about Bill C 51. The two letters, PM are inscribed on Darth Vader s
chest plate. This confirms that Vader is a symbol of comparison to Harper. Vader
is seen to utter the two words of TRUST ME , as it is the only dialogue he is using
in this cartoon. This cartoon also has a caption PRIVACY WARS.
The cartoon contains context that revolves around a couple of intertwined concepts.
The main concept is Harper s decision to enforce Bill C 51. After 9/11, terrorist
attacks broke out in Canada. The terrorist initiatives included the random firing at two

shading of this cartoon is dark, implying the eerie and dark atmosphere created by
both Vader and Bill C 51. Greg Perry has efficiently used techniques to attack this
Essay On Political Power In The 17th Century
Despite their growth of political power during the 16th century, Spain s political
situation in the 17th century is often seen as a time of decline . Decentralized
political power and ineffective taxation were of the many reasons for the struggles
faced by the Spanish Monarchy as well as the progression of weak kings followed by
power struggles. Before Spainstarted turning downward, they were not only a
European, but global power. This began with the marriage (1469) of queen Isabel of
Castile (1474 1504) and king Ferdinand of Aragon (1479 1516), whose realm
included Aragon proper, Valencia and Catalonia . Spain became united and brought
together separate territories and they were able to extended their authority to North
Africa and Italy. The Spanish crown ruled an empire that included modern Portugal
(to 1640) and Belgium, much of the Italian peninsula, Mexico, and large portions of
South America and the Caribbean . Spain was the leader and power during the late
16th century, but even the most powerful and successful leaders have their downfall.
During the 17th century, Spain was faced with many economic issues which aided in
their decline. Spain faced incessant piracy against their shipping in the Atlantic and

The events that followed led to the fall of an empire. Through their struggles
emerged great art, but also a great lesson to those empires that followed. There s a
general consensus amongst historians that Spain did in fact suffer both political and

challenged by many. What is clear however is that a once global ruler was
diminished down to near nothing as a result of their economic destruction and poor
African American Incarceration And The Advancement Of...
Today, in America there is a disproportionate amount of Black people incarcerated.
There are discrepancies in everything from the education they receive to the jobs that
are available to them. This growing trend needs to be addressed and changed
permanently, otherwise already superfluous statistics will continue to increase. The
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (n.d.) declared that
One in six black men had been incarcerated as of 2001. If current trends continue,
one in three black males born today can expect to spend time in prison during his
lifetime. African Americanincarceration has become an accepted norm in our society

Petrella (2012) also notes that The school to prison pipeline disproportionally targets
youth of color and youth with disabilities for incarceration, as school policies may
isolate them from their peer groups through expulsion, suspension, ineffective
retention policies, transfers and high stakes testing requirements. There is a direct
connection between being African American and lack of education because of
learning difficulties that are not being addressed or missing school because of
suspension or expulsion. The perception of being doomed from the start can directly
interfere with motivation and drive towards a better future. Nittle (n.d.) notes that
Racism in the United States would not have thrived if institutions hadn t perpetuated
discrimination. The despair of defeat at an early age is hard to crawl out of, without
the added pressure of race.
Disparities show up in the workplace and not just in the education system. Nesbit
(2015) states In the workplace, black college graduates are twice as likely as whites
to struggle to find jobs the jobless rate for blacks has been double that of whites for
decades. This means that multiple difficulties stand in the way of the average Black
person being successful. With few jobs available and when faced with the seemingly
impossible pursuit of making a living, an instantaneous income can seem appealing.

A Description of Formula SAE
Preface:
When a few university professors got together 20 years ago to start a very informal
SAE student design competition then known as Mini Indy, I doubt that any of them
expected their efforts would change the world of motor racing and the lives of
thousands of young men and women. Today this program, renamed Formula SAE
В®, has become the world championship for college engineering students, and the
training program for race car engineers and designers around the world. Teams from
as far away as Korea, Japan and Mexico travel to the suburbs of Detroit each May
for the big event. Satellite events have begun in the United Kingdom and Australia.

universities around ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

group is to begin by focusing on what car to build. While it is important to be
thinking about design issues and ideas, in the early meetings you will probably
not be able to create a definitive plan. Unless you have designed and built complete
automobiles before, you should not make definitive decisions yet. There will be
plenty of dialog and thought given to the car design without making it a priority
yet. Students usually think the biggest problems will be technical. We embark on
an FSAE project with grand visions of a fast, exciting racecar and can t wait to get
started designing and building it. What you find out right away, particularly if you
are in a leadership position, is that the largest problems to overcome have less to do
with actual hands on design, construction, and driving of
Grassland Soil Erosion Of Grasslands
Environmental Science Professor Delia Comeau Case Study: Grassland Soil
Erosion Overgrazing of grasslands is an issue occurring in many areas around the
nation. In fact, it is the leading cause of all soil degradation, being responsible for
more than 30 percent (Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 222). Overgrazing has many
consequences: land degradation; poor soilquality; invasive species of weeds and
plants; 1loss in biodiversity; increased flooding prevalence and increased
magnitude; even a possible contribution to climate change (Withgott Lapostata,
2014, p. 229; Hogan, 2010). When faced with 500,000 acres of public land that are
enduring these issues, many steps need to be taken in order to determine the future
of the land and if grazing will be allowed to continue. One of the main ways of
helping determine the future use of the land is in the soil quality. By observing the
soil color, pH, texture, and structure, the proper means of restoration and conservation
can be better determined.
There are many aspects soil that can be observed and measured in order to
determine the quality of the lands condition. One property of soil that can be looked
at is the color. 2Soil color can determine its composition and fertility. Soil that is pale
in color usually suggest low organic contents and even leaching, while soil that is
dark browns and black in color often suggest higher organic content and richness
(Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 220). Soil pH is another property that helps

There are too many situations that women face in Turkey. Also women have rights
to bodily integrity and autonomy, vote, work with fair wages or equal pay, own

The mere perception that a woman has behaved in a way that dishonors her family
is sufficient to trigger an attack on her life. In Turkey, especially in the east of the
Turkey, honor killings are very common. Girls married with the men (generally
older than girls) because of economic issues. Men give money for marrying with the
girl. And also, if a girl has a relationship with a person who unaccepted by the family,
they find a husband for her and make her marry with him.
Education of Women Education is one of the most important human rights because it
also affects implementation of other human rights. For example if a woman don t
know about her rights like right to marry whoever she wants, she would think that
they must marry with a person she doesn t want to because of the forcemeat of her
family. Also because of the lack of education women can t be independent
financially and must depend on their families or their husbands. In Turkey, the lack
of education is generally because of the economic reasons. Especially families in
the Eastern Turkey think that it is unnecessarily expense especially for the girls.
For example if a family has one boy and a girl kids, boy would have priority for
education. Because of this,

year. SUVs have proved to be a popular option, but there are many people who find
it hard to choose between an SUV or a truck, both offer families many options,
especially newer heavy duty Ford F150s in Dearborn.
The Pros and Cons of Driving an SUV
Since their introduction, SUVs have provided families an alternative to driving a

cost $11,360 per year or $.075.7 per mile based on 15,000. SUVs were the most

The Pros and Cons of Driving a Truck
Trucks like F150 are popular options these days for families. With expanded cabins,
an entire family can easily fit comfortably, and enjoy long trips. Truck manufacturers

trucks drive smoothly, truck manufacturers have changed how truck performed over

There are more SUV sales than trucks. With SUVs able to get more gas mileage than

families are still choosing SUVs over trucks. However, many truck manufacturers are

Introduction
Red foxes were introduced in Australia by settlers in the 1830s. The Red Foxes
spread quickly throughout Australia to become a very damaging species to the

hunting because they had nothing to hunt. The red fox is one of the largest of the

How did it get here? What were the benefits of introducing it? Is it suited to the
Australian environment? Why? Why not?
The Red Fox was first introduced to Australia in around 1871. A small number were
shipped from England for the purposes of sport hunting, and released into the wild in
southern Victoria around Geelong, and also in South Australia.
The Red Foxes were brought to Australia for the sport of fox hunting. Fox hunting is
where hunters chase and kill wild foxes using special dogs trained for sport. Hunters
dressed in their uniforms let their specially trained foxhounds off the leash to sniff
out foxes hiding in bushes. The hounds chase the frightened foxes as they run away
from the hounds. The hunters chase the hounds until the fox escaped or was killed.
At the time, no one knew what a major problem the Red Foxes would become for
Australian farmers and the extent of the damage they would cause to our
environment. By 1893 foxes were so damaging that they were considered pests.
People tried to prevent the spread of the foxes in many areas but they could not be
stopped. Within 100 years, this introduced pest species spread across most of
Australia, and now live in three quarters of
Julia Wood Epilogue
I feel that the most pressing issue involving communication, gender, and culture
would be acceptance. The world needs to take into consideration that even though
they want things to remain the same, things are bound to change.
After reading the Epilogue and the textbook, I realize that we need to be willing to
accept what families decide is the best choice for the work load both parents have.
Growing up in a home where both parents had jobs outside the home helped me
appreciate both members contributing to the family. This also helps me realize that
even though one family member may decide to stay home, that does not make them
any less important to the family overall. A statement that Julia Wood made in the
Epilogue stood out to me. She says that As women and men, you can affect what
society expects of and admires in each sex (Wood, 321). This showed me that we
have the ability to impact the gender roles society holds. It is important to not judge
a father for deciding to stay home while the mother works ... Show more content on

It is important to monitor the way in which we choose to talk to one another. There
are many things in society that people find offensive. As the next decade comes
into view, society needs to grasp the differences in people and that not everyone
reacts to things the same. Some people find things very unpleasant without others
being aware of it. Wood continues to talk in the Epilogue about our generation
taking the time to recognize that not everyone is the same in the world. She says
Maybe your generation will replace the melting pot metaphor with one that
recognizes commonality without obliterating real and valuable differences among
people (Wood, 322). I think that she makes a great point here. We have been raised
to understand that there is a melting pot in our society. This idea may need to change
as the world pulls away from following exactly what we originally had in

After Harper s arrival, the two began decorating the living and kitchen spaces with

The home can almost mirror that of the houses on Trinity Place, that according to

quaint, Victorian inspired variances remain missed by those who are unaware of
its existence. The secondary location within Addie s house is Harper s bedroom on
the second floor. Harper s bedroom is a nice moderate size, big enough for a large

Outstanding Outsourcing Essay

It (outsourcing) is not a our father s traditional foreign trade. Goods are not being

another country) for good Y. It is a case of the US ceasing to make X in the US and
making it (in another country) instead ( Outsourcing champs say India critical to their

a matter that had threatened the unskilled people in the labor force, which encouraged

The only means for the IT companies to maintain business and to have minimal losses
was to transfer their services overseas to India. Nonetheless, many of the people who
had lost their IT jobs saw this as a disadvantage since they were the ones who had to
either find another job that matched their skills or had to obtain new skills. Along
with this, they, along with the majority of the workforce, saw outsourcing as
something harmful to the American economy and that it caused increase in cost
(Easterls, 166). These outlooks are not necessarily true, however.
It is accurate to say that increase in cost will occur. IT companies need to spend
money overseas to India in order to build institutions for training and work
facilities, even though the headquarters will remain in the U.S. What s more,
promoting their company for jobs and services will cost the IT companies as well.
However, this will happen only for the short run. For instance, the construction is a
temporary procedure as well as trying to start the business and have it be familiar to
the country. The benefits are the result that will happen in the long run. Outsourcing
white collar jobs to India will help create more white collar jobs in the States, but not
overnight. Nonetheless, these new jobs will probably be meant to help keep track of
the branches that remain overseas. In fact, studies show that outsourcing had already
generated 90,000 net new U.S. jobs in
Essay on Romantic Poetry
Poetry is a varied art form. Poetry is expression with words, using aesthetics and
definition. Word choice in poetry is the single most important thing. Devices such as
assonance, alliteration and rhythm work in a poem to convey a certain image or to

a potato and cinderblock, and if done the correct way use them to describe how
Abraham Lincoln dealt with scoundrels. Poetry is beautiful. One of the best genres in

Equality, Expectations and Envy In chapter two of Status Anxiety, Equality,
Expectations and Envy , Alain de Botton explains to readers that perturbation about
self image is caused by feelings of inadequacy, which are usually self inflicted. Envy
occurs when a person compares themselves to the people around them. Botton
contends, our judgment of what constitutes an appropriate limit . . .on wealth or
esteem is never arrived at independently. . . ;it is formed when a person compares
their surrounding with a reference group (25). People are compelled to do better
because of jealousy and feelings of insufficiency. For hundreds of years, there was the

Even the equal rights revolution in America still didn t prevent the resentment felt
by most. In fact, it made it worse. Tocqueville noticed that when people are set to
the same level, the slightest variation is easily spotted (32). He asserted that, when
people fail to rise to who they think they can be, it causes them to feel self hatred
and underachievement (33). The success stories of others who have risen up from
the dirt do not help the esteem of the people who think what and how much they have
done in life is insignificant (41). William James, looked at the psychology behind the
sociological problems created by expectations. James wrote an equation to
describe self esteem, which is equal to the ratio of success rate to perceptions of
ability. The equation suggests there are two ways to raise self esteem: one, work
harder and achieve more, or two, want to achieve less things (36). Botton s
interpretation of James s ideas signify Rousseau s argument that we may be happy
enough with little if little is what we have come to expect, and we may be miserable
with much if we have been taught to desire everything,

John Steinbeck Dbq
Sin is something that is beneath all people. No matter the race, gender, or age. It is
even in the most innocent families. In the Pearl, John Steinbeck uses similes,
symbolism, and characterization to show the reader that the obsession with money is
the biggest sin a family.
In the pearl, Steinbeck uses similes to develop the challenge the character faces.
This pearl is like a sin! It will destroy us, (Steinbeck 50) Juana says this soon after
the interference with burglars. She sensed the power of the pearl then. It was gaining
power over Kino, in a sense that was now beyond the good he wanted to come out
of he pearl. That is why she compares the pearl to a sin, as she is getting weaker and
weaker to persuade Kino into letting go of the pearl. ... Show more content on

He shows that the pearl is corruptive by showing what it could do to a family. The
pearl is betrayed as evil. Not only did it break a family apart but also it caused for
death to arise. The pearl brought evil when bringing burglars, hoax, and fake
people. The priest and the Doc. both seemed to turn onto the good side with Kino
as soon as they found out he had the pearl of all time. People started breaking in,
messed Kino s canoe and even set Kino s house on fire. And worse, with everything
that was already being taken away, Kino s beloved son was shot and killed. And
then Kino s brain cleared from its red concentration and he knew the sound the
keening, moaning, rising hysterical cry from the little cave in the side of the stone
mountain, the cry of death (86) All shortly happening after the finding of the pearl.

Narrative Essay About True Love
That spark that ignites within us, within our souls. It touches the heart and crawls,
making its way up to the lips for a good night kiss, from the one that they love.
Love, an amazing gift from the Lord himself. Luckily, I received this pure, soft gift
of joy. But, it is not only love, it is true love. It holds within its grace, the beauty, the
tears, the fights, the crinkle from the lips of the receiver, happiness, joy, kindness,
trust, compassion, the truth. To have a partner to share your secrets with, your life
with, well I have this. True loveis a beautiful thing that I have received.
To begin with, I have always believed in true love. Sometimes, it takes years and
several ,different people to have to be with, to find the one that is true. But, this
happened for me over nine months ago. At the age of sixteen, walking into my
first job at an Italian restaurant, with only having a one week of experience there, I
saw him. I turned the corner, and we both caught each other s eyes. His name, you
might ask, is Izzy. He had a tan, glowing color on his skin, beautiful brown eyes
that were not your ordinary dull color, and hair that you could just run your fingers
through. Not only could he tell that I would look at him out of the corner of my eye
while standing near him at the host stand, but I could tell he had his eye on me. I
did not know it at first, but at the end of the night, he asked for my Snapchat on a
napkin. He has kept that napkin ever since the first night I met
Crevecoeur s Letters From An American Farmer
Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the
wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed to
me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door (Emma Lazarus Statue of Liberty Poem ).
America had become known as the land of opportunity for those who wished to
colonize there. In accordance with this statement, A French aristocrat, J. Hector St.
John de Crevecoeur, defined the Colonial American Society in his essays known as
Letters from an American Farmer. In these essays he depicted Colonial America as
the best form of society. This is because Colonial America had incorporated forms of
society within its culture through many different immigrants and each of their
various backgrounds. Crevecoeur wanted all people from various societies and
backgrounds of life to understand the greatness of the Colonial American Society.

Crevecoeurs repetition links his main points which enables the audience s mind to
rebound upon major ideas, topics, and points he makes throughout his essay. For
example, in paragraph one, Crevecoeur states how America can offer new laws, a
new mode of living , a new social system that all immigrants have a say in (16). This
influences the audience s outlook upon American society in a positive way by
including the basic belief of all Americans, that all people have an unalienable right
to pursue happiness ( Declaration of
Counter Culture
Popular culture as a whole has always been both a driving force and a reflection of
the values of any particular society, increasingly so since the invention and
dispersion of Radio, TV, the Internet, and now social media. However, it seems as if
today, more so than ever, that pop culture is spreading and promoting ideas that are
counterproductive to society as a whole. Music in particular is one area within
popular culturethat has a tremendous impact on society. Music can easily get stuck
in your head and most people listen to their favorite songs over and over, so if these
songs are promoting anti social behavior then it can be a serious problem for society.
Rap/hip hop music has rapidly become one of the most popular genres of music

I think that the corporate side of music plays into the fact that Solomon mentions,
deep down, we all wish that we could be the star quarterback or head cheerleader.
(Solomon 543). So they promote music that plays to this subconscious desire
within us all that we all want the most or best of everything: The best cars, the
most money, the biggest houses, prettiest women, the best drugs, etc. The
consumers embrace this kind of music because we all have that attitude inside of
us and hearing someone else talk about it makes us think that either we already
have it, or need to get it. So it is an endless cycle fueled by money and desire by
both the corporate side of music and the consumer side. The corporations want more
money so they promote music that they know will sell, and they know it will sell
because the consumers want more money too so they listen to music that makes them
feel like they have
Language Influences On Children s Formation Of Social...
Social categories such as race and gender can be difficult for children to understand
and sort out. It is already remarkable that they acquire such large amounts of
knowledge during their early years, and social categories are just a small part of
that. They start to understand that every object they encounter has a name through
language so it would not be surprising to learn that language plays a vital role in
children s formation of social categories as well. The manner in which adults talk and
teach children in particular are how language influences their thoughts. One example
of how children have to sort and form categories is because they are presented with
so many different characteristics about a person such as language, hair color,... Show

The focus of the investigation was on how children develop categories through noun
labels, visual cues, or non intrinsic cues. The study addressed the hypothesis that
young children assimilate social categories to biological ones, essentializing them as
they do species kinds. They explored the hypothesis that children will differentiate
intrinsic cues like skin color over nonintrinsic cues like clothing when forming
representations of social groups. One important theme is that noun labels encourage
children to form categories, especially those that apply to people. In other words,
language appears to play a huge role in forming concepts of race and gender. This
idea is interesting because it contrasts with the norm belief that children make social
categorization alone through visual cues as the children take in all the information
around them and as they become more exposed to different parts of society. Another
important idea is that only in the presence of noun labels were visual cues sufficient
to form categories. It conveys that there is a certain way that children think about
these social categories of race and gender (Baron, Dunham, Banaji Carey, 2014).
The study consisted of 24 different white children for each of the seven experiments.
In the various experiments, the first one demonstrated that in the absence of a visual
cue, a noun label supports the social categorization among both four year

[The Credit Agreement]
[Events of Default and Miscellaneous Provisions]
1.Events of Default and Remedies
1.2.Understanding Setoff Provisions
3.Introduction to the Right of Setoff
The right of setoff is a vitally important right that gives a creditor (such as a lender
under a credit agreement) the authority to seize and apply deposits of a debtor (such
as a borrower under such a credit agreement) to reduce the amount that such debtor
owes to such creditor. The right of setoff exists by way of (i) common law, (ii) statute
or (iii) contractual agreement.
Creditors, particularly banks, have long relied on the right of setoff as a self help
remedy in commercial transactions. Setoff, which is an equitable remedy, allows a
creditor to offset a debt owing by such creditor to a debtor in a mutual obligation
relationship. Setoff rights exist in state statutes and in common law, being recognized
by all fifty states, however such rights are limited in certain respects. Thus, generally,
parties to a credit agreement could seek to contractually agree for such a settlement of
mutual obligations involving unrelated transactions that would occur through
offsetting transactions outside of a court proceeding. Lenders will typically negotiate
credit agreements to include applicable setoff provisions to clarify the right. In the
particular context of a credit agreement, the right of setoff gives a lender greater
ability to collect larger amounts from a borrower under a contract than
Kingsolver’s Portrayal of Christianity in The
Poisonwood...
Kingsolver s Portrayal of Christianity in The Poisonwood Bible
Kingsolver s concern with Christianity is evident in the very title of
The Poisonwood Bible. She uses books to divide the novel into sections, which, with
names like Genesis and The Revelation, reflect the books of the Bible. As the novel
progresses, the structure deviates from that of its biblical namesakes: there is a shift
in order Exodus is placed centrally and new books with titles such as
The Eyes in the Trees are introduced (Kingsolver s own appellations).
These names present the reader with the idea that Kingsolver is rewriting the central
Christian text, adapting it for her own story.
Thus religion is heralded as a significant presence in the book, not
just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her language sounds homiletic and parroted, which shows us she has been
thoroughly indoctrinated. She is passive in the face of her father s domination She
wouldn t go against him, of course providing evidence that religion can be used as a
tool to wield power.
Ruth May, although only five, clearly understands Nathan s expectations of
submission, He doesn t approve talking back a telling point when we consider how
semi developed her understanding of life can be. She names her toy monkey sock St
Matthew this shows how thoroughly a system of beliefs can penetrate the minds of
children, and the fanatical madness it instils in otherwise rational human beings how
fiercely he felt the eye of God upon him.
Orleanna, who could never have known what her husband would become, claims
she was swallowed by Nathan s body, mission and soul. Both use very physical
terms felt and swallowed which present religion as something so powerful it is
tangible. Through her portrayal of the family, Kingsolver explores how easily
Chrisitanity can be abused. Nathan is obsessed with the traditional Judeo Christian
God, who he perceives as wrathful and judgmental: If we suffered...it was proof that
one of us had committed a failure of virtue. The emotive word suffered shows the
bitterness Christianity can cause, and the absolute word proof , the single
mindedness it can instil.
Nathan has faith, but of the wrong sort Kingsolver paints his religion as one based on
Eminent Domain Paper
When Should Eminent Domain be Used?
When should a city or state use their eminent domain powers? Over the past few
years there have been a couple of cases that raised the questions of when eminent
domain should be used. One of the most controversial cases in the history of the
United States was the Kelo v New
London Supreme Court ruling. In order to generate tax revenue, add jobs, and to
prevent bankruptcy, the government s right to initiate eminent domain for public good
is a necessary evil.
Eminent domain in definition is the right or power of public purposes without the
owner s consent on payment of just compensation ( Eminent Domain History ).
Eminent domain has been a part of the United States ever since the constitution ...

Which would cause the city to grow and that would provide more money to the
government with the increased tax revenue from all of the new families. This could
create more jobs, because more companies might be interested in locating there due
to all of the growth. Eminent domain should also be used by a city or state if it
prevents it from going bankrupt.
A city or state should use eminent domain if it prevents it from going bankrupt. If
a city is near bankrupt then it cannot provide all of the necessary items that a city
needs in order to run like it is supposed to. For example, if a city is short of funds
then it would have to reduce its budget in places that would harm the city. It would
have to cut money from the police, and fire departments. However, by using their
eminent domain powers a city could keep all of this from happening by letting a
business come that would create thousands in tax dollars, and add jobs to the city.
This means that a reduction in the police and fire departments would not happen and
the city would still run smoothly.
The cities and states that use eminent domain to acquire land in order to keep
themselves running smoothly is sad; however, these cities and states are looking
out for what is best for their areas. These cities and states are not trying to make
families move out of their homes in order to earn a quick dollar. These cities and
states are only
Discrimination Of Women In America
Throughout history man has always felt superior to women. Though most believe
that America has moved past this discrimination, it is still very much so practiced.
Of course in the news we hear about how women are treated in other countries.
They either work all day for the family, have little to no rights, or in general are put
down. In the U.S. the discrimination may not seem as bad, but with how advanced
America is, any discrimination should not be practiced. Whether it be receiving
lower wages or an easy target to abuse, women in America are still greatly chastised
for being who they are. Other countries not as advances as the U.S. or who have
different customs provide the women their with little respect as well. They have

talking about and showing each other all of the Kylie Lip Kits they had. On the
website appeared many different shades of lipsticks available for people to

The Harlem Renaissance Of The 1920s
Hues are properties of light by which colors of objects are classified in reference to
the spectrum. As people, we decide what hue is intriguing, how it makes us feel, and
unfortunately how it makes us different. We are calmed by the blueness of water, and
we are awakened by the yellowness of the sun. It was not until the evil intentions of
slavery crossed mankind s thoughts that hue became our downfall, our separator.
White supremacy eroded the idea of equality, and darker hues began to symbolize
worthlessness, inferiority, and ugliness. The Harlem Renaissanceof the 1920s evoked
the idea of black consciousness and pride. It was a movement established to
express black literature, art, music, and culture. Blacks began to wear their dark
hue like a badge of honor. Art, literature, and music became the centerpieces of
black expression and culture. Blacks began to see themselves as equals in their
quest for status, fame, and acceptance from Whites. However, racism was still
abundant, lynches still occurred, and Blacks were still just as inferior as before. To
make matters worse, segregation still existed, but the color line was not only a
separation of black and white; it became a separation of black and black. Artist
associated with the Harlem Renaissance, such as Zora Neale Hurston, James Weldon
Johnson, Claude McKay, and Jessie Fauset, often told stories of the other with the
purpose of gaining the attention of white Americans. Their works expose the racial

eating their breakfast or reading their daily newspaper anyways. Not so many

His strong ascendancy seemed to have taken a fast toll on me. Men like him are,

  • 2. Statement Of Environmental Engineering When I think about the different realms of science and engineering, it is difficult to think of a domain that is going to change the world as much as environmental engineering will, in the decades ahead. Humanity has always engineered the environment around us. From the earliest days of wetland drainage and the need to acquire fresh water, to keep it flowing and keep it clean enough to drink, building cesspits to take away our waste and to stop pollution of vital waterways, we have always strived to maximize our sanitation and living conditions in order to expand and survive. Since the industrial revolution in the 19th century we have needed to prevent businesses and individuals from polluting the environment with harmful substances. Thus the need for proper utilization of our resources and waste management is greater than ever before. Research in the field continues at a more ferocious pace than ever, faster ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Growing up, hearing about wastewater treatment plants, effluent treatment plants or EIAs was a daily occurrence. This encouraged me to develop interest in this field and consequently led to an industrial visit to an ETP at the age of 13 years. This was at an ETP that my grandfather had designed and commissioned at Pharmaceutical Plant in the year of 2006. In fact, I ascribe my decision to pursue this field to that particular phase of my life. I earned my undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at the Dharmsinh Desai University with the grade First Class with Distinction . I finished my Baccalaureate in May 2015 scoring among the top 12 students in my class and top 5 in Environmental Engineering, which I believe, betrays my love for the subject. During the final year of my undergraduate degree, I received an internship opportunity at Witteveen+Bos Consulting Engineers, to work on a soil and groundwater remediation
  • 3. Comparison of Neurological Assessment Tools Gcs Avpu and Four An assessment of the level of consciousness (LOC) should be carried out during the primary survey of all patients, using the ABCDE approach Cole (2009: 28). Any initial or subsequent reduction in the LOC of the patient may be caused by hypoxia; hypovolaemia; head injury; drug or medicine use; hypoglycaemia; hypothermia or alcohol ingestion (Cole, 2009:44). An assessment of the LOC of the patient is vital for an accurate pain assessment and the administration of analgesia, and the subsequent assessment of its efficacy (Rose, et al. 2011). Regular evaluation of a patient s LOC helps detect the onset of hypothermia and hypovolaemia. Muehlberger, et al. Staff assessing these patients found themselves recording GCS scores lower than what they felt was appropriate. Since the GCS became widely adopted and its use became expanded beyond the original intention of the scale, certain additional limitations have been identified (Laureys, 2005). Verbal responses become difficult or impossible to assess when patients have been sedated or intubated (Majerus, 2005). Some clinicians feel that scoring eye opening is not sufficient to indicate brainstem arousal and a number of coma scales have been proposed that include brainstem reflexes, most of them more complex than the GCS scale (Majerus, 2005). The Glasgow LiГЁge scale is the simplest variation proposed (Born, et al., 1982). It combines the GCS with five brainstem reflexes, but has not been widely implemented outside Belgium, its country of origin (Laureys, 2005). Finally, the remaining weaknesses of the GCS scale relate to the assessment of comatose patients. The GCS becomes unreliable in ongoing care for monitoring coma and recovery through vegetative or minimally conscious states, before returning to consciousness (Laureys, 2005). The main advantage of the GCS is its simplicity, allowing it to be utilised by the full range of clinicians, with a minimal amount of training (Matis, 2008). Rapid Assessment Tools (AVPU and ACDU) More recently, early warning systems have been developed in an effort to recognise the at risk patient who may be deteriorating

Therefore, funerals and mourning look different depending on their religion. The Greek, Roman, and Egyptian mourning and funerals are strange, fascinating, and somewhat gross. Roman funerals and mourning were precise, and had peculiar ways in completing them. The structure of the funeral depended on whether the deceased person was rich, famous, or poor. An Egyptian funerary ritual consists of death and the soul s journey to the afterlife. Historian Bunson once said, Eternity was the common destination of each man, women and child in Egypt , however, not an Egypt in the clouds or sky, but one that mirrored one s life on earth. The Fields of Reeds was the Egyptian afterlife which was a perfect reflection of the deceased s life on earth. These burial rites were practiced as early as 4000 BCE and help reflect this vision of eternity. Next was the mummification process, which was practiced in Egypt as early as 3500 BCE. After a person had died, the family would bring the body to embalmers. Then the embalmers would offer three choices to the bereaved. The first was (Ikram, 53) which involved the family agreeing upon a price and leaving the task to the embalmers. For ( Ikram, 53) the embalmers would have the internal organs removed, to help preserve the body. Then the organs were put in jars and left in tomb with the wrapped body. The second chose was (Osiris) and it was the most expensive of the three choices. If this process is chosen the body is laid out on a table and the brain is extracted from the body, before they deceased is wrapped and buried. • 6. The Image Of Blood In A Long Way Gone By Ishmael Beah Ishmael Beah has been through just about everything a soldier in can experience while in war, and he wants to show how war is not a good solution. If we do not take what he says into account, loved ones may be taken from us and have to experience what he once did as a soldier. Or worse, our loved ones could be killed by one of the many destructions caused by war. The blood shed on the battlefields of warcould be our own if people don t listen to what Beah is trying to tell about war. Beah uses the image of blood throughout this book to show why war is not a good answer. He could have lessened the image of blood if he wanted his take on war to be portrayed differently. Blood was chosen as the image because the main purpose of war is to prevent future blood shed from occurring, but it really just creates more casualties and more blood shed. By looking at the way Beah portrays the image of blood in A Long Way Gone , one can see that his view on war is not a positive one, which is important because the way Beah depicts war is vital to Beah s story and the overall tone of the book. In a village, at the time of a rebel attack, Beah sees a mother carrying her baby on her back. The baby is covered in blood, and its mother is covered in her baby s blood. The baby plays a huge part in imagery in A Long Way Gone. I see a mother carrying her dead child on her back (Beah pg. 13). Beah sees this horrific image himself. The baby was killed while a war scene was occurring in the

This article will discuss about a case study of an off shore based wind energy power plant and discuss about basic analysis types and their corresponding application in WT s system safety aiming to let more experts deeply understand the current research status. We shall also discuss about recent innovation in Wind turbinetechnology and our own idea of using the latest innovation in different area. INTRODUCTION Wind Energy has been the most growing renewable energy source as far as the usage and installation are concerned. Nations around the world realized risk of persistent use of non renewable sources for power generation and began to invest in alternate and more reliable renewable energy sources such as Solar, Wind, Tidal, Bio Gas etc. Off late its been the Wind Energy that is being capitalized as a source for power generation with significant installations around the globe. With the speed and continuity of wind being vital in the power generation from the turbines, locating the terrains for turbine installation holds the key. Off shore having an edge over onshore: With the persistent winds being vital for power generation as we know the point of turbine installation should be favourable for that. With
  • 8. I Want to Become an Architect Ever since I was young, I have admired intricate buildings and structures. I have always appreciated a nice, well thought out home because I do believe home is where the heart is. I have done lots of research on architecture, and what it takes to become an architect. I am naturally drawn to this career because it requires lots of creativity and an eye for design. Being an architectalso allows you to interact with people, which is important to me because I am a social person. It also is a steady job and brings in a good salary. Through research, I have learned what exactly architects do before starting projects, and while working on projects. A usual day for an architect usually consists in two settings: the office, or sometimes the construction site where their idea is put to life. Usually in the office, they are meeting with clients, preparing project specifications, and completing requirements and objectives for upcoming projects. They also have to know how to manage construction contracts and create scaled drawings by hand however, preparing drawings by computer design technology is more common these days with new advanced, efficient computer programs. The typical day in the office for an architect sounds nothing but ideal for me. One in five architects is self employed, which is a significant number of self employed architects, and architects held 107,400 jobs in 2012. It would be ideal for me to be self employed in my future because I like to be the boss and I am very

These are just a few of the similarities of these two very similar religions, but the religions also have differences. Judaism, doesn t believe in the New Testament of the Bible, while Christians believe in the New Testament, which consists of Jesus s teachings, and have it as the part of their holy text. The field of graphic design encompasses many different sub sections including web design and printmaking, however, the field of graphic design is not very heavy on professional writing. Instead graphic designutilizes images to convey messages and concepts. Many articles I have found use specific terms associated with the field of Graphic Design. For example, the article Primary Design Elements Found in Outstanding Digital Illustrations, by a designer called LoungeKat, outlines and explains various elements of design such as negative space, implied texture, and monochromatic uses of color. Articles such as this one are mainly written to help designers improve their technique and develop a better understanding of how to create meaningful designs. Within this specific genre of technical writing, designers require an understanding of ethos because their audience need to feel that they are a credible source in the graphic design field. Specifically, within LoungeKat s article, technical terminology is utilized to develop that ethos as well as specific examples. However, a majority of the article utilizes simple language rather than advanced language. Many articles about graphic design maintain that sense of simplicity in their writing as well. I assume this is because the field is not heavy on writing or research and instead it focuses on art and visual designs so there is no need to use such a formal or advanced way of writing. In addition, credible sources such as peer journals are very important in many fields of work because they can be trusted to provide reliable information. During the interview I also asked

When it comes to Aboriginal healing there has to be a self discovery of mind, body, spirit, and emotional health that needs to be aligned before an addict can fight off the demons (White Bison, 2002). Addictions often begin with trying to coping stated above with a high level of stress, pain (emotional and physically), and even mental illnesses that have or haven t been a diagnosis. Living within a community that is lost many people can t get out of the destructive circle. Having parents not being around because they are working on addiction themselves allows for children to become lost or even accept that this is where they will stay for the rest of their lives. • 15. Olaf s Transformation There are many stories of Olaf told by the people from his village. There is a story about Olaf defeating a dragon in face to face combat to protect his village or him racing down a mountain of lava. But this is the story of how Olaf got his shield. Long time ago, Olaf was a simple shepherd, living in the mountains above his village. He was very well known for being the kindest man anyone had ever met. He always had a smile on his face. Tales about him say he could chop down trees with his bare hands, and that strength was useful while helping others. Every time someone was in trouble, Olaf was there to help. The troll charged like a frantic bull. Olaf wasn t worried, he stood his ground and put the little boy behind. The troll bashed Olaf with his club, but Olaf did not shift from his position. The troll was big and strong, but he was no match for Olaf s might. Olaf grabbed the club with one hand, and crushed it with the sheer force of his palm. He picked up the troll and spun him around like a helicopter, before hurling him deep into the mountain. The troll was defeated, and the boy was rescued. But then suddenly the ground began to rumble and shake once again, had the troll returned? No, the vault, it was crumbling apart! As Olaf cut his way through the mountain, he had weakened the structure, and now it was caving in. The ceiling began to decay, Olaf covered the boy with his back. With no obvious way out, Olaf grabbed the ice covered door, and held it up like a shield. Protecting them as the mountain top collapsed around

The Ancient Roman Empire was one of the world s greatest empires. Beginning in around 750 BCE with a small settlement no one knew it would become a great empire making many discoveries that we still live by today. Although the empire was strong they started to run into some problems. Starting in 44 BCE with Caesar becoming emperor and continuing into 500 CE, the city was declining fast. Although some researchers may say that natural disasters were the main reason for the decline of Rome, however the primary reasons for the decline of Rome were political corruption and military mistakes. Political corruption was a main reason for the fall of Rome because there were higher class people trying to take all the power which made many people unhappy causing assassinations and unfairness. Military mistakes were also a big problem because the military was too lazy to fight causing invasions and unnecessary deaths. To begin with, political corruption was a major reason leading to the fall of Rome. Leaders were jealous, selfish, and unfair to the poor. Essay On Political Power In The 17th Century Despite their growth of political power during the 16th century, Spain s political situation in the 17th century is often seen as a time of decline . Decentralized political power and ineffective taxation were of the many reasons for the struggles faced by the Spanish Monarchy as well as the progression of weak kings followed by power struggles. Grassland Soil Erosion Of Grasslands Environmental Science Professor Delia Comeau Case Study: Grassland Soil Erosion Overgrazing of grasslands is an issue occurring in many areas around the nation. In fact, it is the leading cause of all soil degradation, being responsible for more than 30 percent (Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 222). Overgrazing has many consequences: land degradation; poor soilquality; invasive species of weeds and plants; 1loss in biodiversity; increased flooding prevalence and increased magnitude; even a possible contribution to climate change (Withgott Lapostata, 2014, p. 229; Hogan, 2010). When faced with 500,000 acres of public land that are enduring these issues, many steps need to be taken in order to determine the future of the land and if grazing will be allowed to continue. One of the main ways of helping determine the future use of the land is in the soil quality. By observing the soil color, pH, texture, and structure, the proper means of restoration and conservation can be better determined. There are many aspects soil that can be observed and measured in order to determine the quality of the lands condition. Offshore production is not a case of US making good X and trading it (to another country) for good Y. It is a case of the US ceasing to make X in the US and making it (in another country) instead ( Outsourcing champs say India critical to their success ). This quote leads to the differences between outsourcing and trade. Trade is a matter that had threatened the unskilled people in the labor force, which encouraged many of them to learn some sort of skill. Nonetheless, many of the people who had lost their IT jobs saw this as a disadvantage since they were the ones who had to either find another job that matched their skills or had to obtain new skills. Along with this, they, along with the majority of the workforce, saw outsourcing as something harmful to the American economy and that it caused increase in cost (Easterls, 166). These outlooks are not necessarily true, however. It is accurate to say that increase in cost will occur. IT companies need to spend money overseas to India in order to build institutions for training and work facilities, even though the headquarters will remain in the U.S. What s more, promoting their company for jobs and services will cost the IT companies as well. However, this will happen only for the short run. For instance, the construction is a temporary procedure as well as trying to start the business and have it be familiar to the country. The benefits are the result that will happen in the long run. Outsourcing white collar jobs to India will help create more white collar jobs in the States, but not overnight. Nonetheless, these new jobs will probably be meant to help keep track of the branches that remain overseas. In fact, studies show that outsourcing had already generated 90,000 net new U.S. jobs in

Envy occurs when a person compares themselves to the people around them. Botton contends, our judgment of what constitutes an appropriate limit . . .on wealth or esteem is never arrived at independently. . . ;it is formed when a person compares their surrounding with a reference group (25). Even the equal rights revolution in America still didn t prevent the resentment felt by most. In fact, it made it worse. Tocqueville noticed that when people are set to the same level, the slightest variation is easily spotted (32). The success stories of others who have risen up from the dirt do not help the esteem of the people who think what and how much they have done in life is insignificant (41). William James, looked at the psychology behind the sociological problems created by expectations. James wrote an equation to describe self esteem, which is equal to the ratio of success rate to perceptions of ability. The equation suggests there are two ways to raise self esteem: one, work harder and achieve more, or two, want to achieve less things (36). Botton s interpretation of James s ideas signify Rousseau s argument that we may be happy enough with little if little is what we have come to expect, and we may be miserable with much if we have been taught to desire everything,

It is already remarkable that they acquire such large amounts of knowledge during their early years, and social categories are just a small part of that. They start to understand that every object they encounter has a name through language so it would not be surprising to learn that language plays a vital role in children s formation of social categories as well. The manner in which adults talk and teach children in particular are how language influences their thoughts. One example of how children have to sort and form categories is because they are presented with so many different characteristics about a person such as language, hair color,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The focus of the investigation was on how children develop categories through noun labels, visual cues, or non intrinsic cues. The study addressed the hypothesis that young children assimilate social categories to biological ones, essentializing them as they do species kinds. They explored the hypothesis that children will differentiate intrinsic cues like skin color over nonintrinsic cues like clothing when forming representations of social groups. One important theme is that noun labels encourage children to form categories, especially those that apply to people. In other words, language appears to play a huge role in forming concepts of race and gender. This idea is interesting because it contrasts with the norm belief that children make social categorization alone through visual cues as the children take in all the information around them and as they become more exposed to different parts of society. Another important idea is that only in the presence of noun labels were visual cues sufficient to form categories. It conveys that there is a certain way that children think about these social categories of race and gender (Baron, Dunham, Banaji Carey, 2014). The study consisted of 24 different white children for each of the seven experiments. In the various experiments, the first one demonstrated that in the absence of a visual cue, a noun label supports the social categorization among both four year

Events Of Default And Miscellaneous Provisions [The Credit Agreement] [Events of Default and Miscellaneous Provisions] 1.Events of Default and Remedies 1.2.Understanding Setoff Provisions 3.Introduction to the Right of Setoff The right of setoff is a vitally important right that gives a creditor (such as a lender under a credit agreement) the authority to seize and apply deposits of a debtor (such as a borrower under such a credit agreement) to reduce the amount that such debtor owes to such creditor. The right of setoff exists by way of (i) common law, (ii) statute or (iii) contractual agreement. Creditors, particularly banks, have long relied on the right of setoff as a self help remedy in commercial transactions. Setoff, which is an equitable remedy, allows a creditor to offset a debt owing by such creditor to a debtor in a mutual obligation relationship. Setoff rights exist in state statutes and in common law, being recognized by all fifty states, however such rights are limited in certain respects. Thus, generally, parties to a credit agreement could seek to contractually agree for such a settlement of mutual obligations involving unrelated transactions that would occur through offsetting transactions outside of a court proceeding. Lenders will typically negotiate credit agreements to include applicable setoff provisions to clarify the right. In the particular context of a credit agreement, the right of setoff gives a lender greater ability to collect larger amounts from a borrower under a contract than

As the novel progresses, the structure deviates from that of its biblical namesakes: there is a shift in order Exodus is placed centrally and new books with titles such as The Eyes in the Trees are introduced (Kingsolver s own appellations).
