Traits That Make Up The Best NBA Player
Traits that Make up the Best Current NBA players The game is set, it s the 2017 NBA all star
game. Everyone s eyes are wide as they watch, swishes from three pointers, and the rim rattling
from dunks can be heard. The spotlight is on when these East and West all stars are on the court:
most of these players MVPs, league leaders, and NBA champions. They are the league s best,
and the best in the world as they astonish the crowds when they show off their talent. But it takes
a lot of great traits for these players to be considered the best in the league and make it to the 2017
All Star Game. While there are many players in the current NBA, Similar qualities separate the
greats from every other player in the league. Since certain traits make... Show more content on

The best defensive player in the league, and NBA champion, and western conference all star starter
Kawhi Leonard demonstrates this ability. The San Antonio Spursforward Kawhi Leonard won
defensive MVP in 2015 16 and is also one of the best players in the league, averaging 25 points
per game and 2 steals per game. Another great player who also has great defensive
characteristics is Paul George of the Indiana Pacers. When not on the floor the Pacers are one of
the worst defensive teams, but when he is on the court they become 6th defensively. He is almost
single handling leading the Pacers to a playoff position this year, at the 6th seed as of right now.
The final great current NBA player whose great defensive ability makes him strive is Detroit Pistons
center Andre Drummond. Drummond is the anchor of the Pistons, and a defensive monster,
averaging 1.6 blocks per game. Andre is leading the NBA with a defensive rating of 93, and is
one of the best at defending the paint. That is how all great current NBA players share a trait of
great defense to make them the best current NBA players, examples are Kawhi Leonard, Paul
George, and Andre Drummond.
All good current NBA players should have good athleticism, good defense, or clutch ability. By
having all of these qualities, these players take over the league. They get swarmed with fans,
endorsements, publicity, and most of all money.

1000 Class Reflection
Business Recitation 1000 class has been such a great experience and expanded my knowledge
with the excel program while also incorporating the use of excel to create the PowerPoint in
class helped me to know the program better. This learning experience will definitely advance my
knowledge in excel as well as assist me to prepare for the corporate world where these skills are
used in day to day basis. Professor Williamson, you mentioned in the content section restating that
this class went through some major reconstruction from being a communication based where
students were required to do a presentation about the choice of their company for 30 minutes and
writing a 15 page term paper to mostly excel based class now. I believe that these changes were
needed and it really helped me expand my familiarity with excel to knowing exactly how to work
with the program including profit and expense analysis, Income statement, bar chart, line chart,...

Additionally, I became comfortable with excel because I did hesitate and struggled with it in
the beginning but all the materials and instruction improved my performance and some
practicing as well. Fusing excel with PowerPoint was a much simpler task than collecting data
and making graphs in excel. After all the critical work in excel, copy and pasting was one way to
transfer the information which I used for presentation. My group and I chose Microsoft as a
company of our choice and collected all the data needed from the online sources. After
enumerating the information in excel, my group members and I transferred the graphs and charts
by simply copy pasting. I believe that it was definitely an excellent idea for creating a presentation
because we were able to practice and put our skills learned in class to test.

The Pros And Cons Of North Korean Nuclear War
its missiles cannot fly far enough carrying a heavy nuclear warhead. However, they may make
progress in the future, and Secretary Hagel s announcement that the U.S. plans to position
interceptors in Alaska and possibly on the east coast to shoot down North Korean missiles is
important. The more immediate danger, however, is that the North could use nuclear weapons
against its neighbors, South Korea and Japan. If there is a war on the peninsula, experts believe
Pyongyang could probably put nuclear warheads on shorter range missiles and attack major
population centers. A North Korean nuclear bomb dropped on Seoul or Tokyo would inflict

such an approach will remain effective in the future is unclear. Washington s moment of truth may
come if North Korea develops nuclear armed missiles able to reach the United States and South
Koreans ask themselves whether the U.S. will risk sacrificing Los Angeles to protect Seoul. Many
South Koreans doubt American reliability even today, despite 50 years of alliance. And some cite
the distressing example of Washington pulling out of Vietnam during the 1970s. With confidence
in U.S. security guarantees already in question, an emboldened Pyongyang could erode that
confidence even further. Fourth is an increased risk of war by miscalculation . Pyongyang may
believe that its nuclear arsenal gives it more freedom to conduct limited military provocations such
as the 2010 sinking of a South Korean ship and artillery attack on the South s Yeonpyeong Island

launching a serious military response to those actions for fear of triggering a second Korean war.

Raphael Research Paper
Raffaello Sanzio, known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect born in the mountain
town of Urbino. In his early years, Raphael was trained by his father Giovanni Santi, a court
painter and versifier, allowing him to gain a wide education in the arts, literature, and social skills.
This enabled Raphaelto move easily amongst the higher circles of court society and this helped
him gain recognition. His career falls naturally into three phases and three styles, first described
by Giorgio Vasari: his early years in Umbria, then a period of about four years (from 1504 1508)
absorbing the artistic traditions of Florence, followed by his last hectic and triumphant twelve years
in Rome, working for two Popes and their close associates. (Raphael Biography)
Raphael s mother MГ gia died in 1491, followed by his father in 1494 causing him to become
orphaned at the age of eleven. He was left under the supervision of his paternal uncle,
Bartolomeo. This is of course, when he wasn t serving as an apprentice to a master. He had
already shown talent, according to Giorgio Vasari, who tells that Raphael had been a great help to
his father . In these years he developed a self portrait drawing that showed off ... Show more content

Similarities And Differences Between Islamic Banking And...
CHAPTER ONE
GENERAL INTRODUCTION
1.1BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY
This study is undertaken to understand the concept and features of Islamic banking and
conventional banking, the similarity and differences between the two systems and their economic
implications. Generally, a financial institution or a financial intermediary that accepts deposits and
channels those deposits into lending activities, either directly or through capital markets is given
the name of bank. its source of generating revenue and cost of funds is charging of interest through
lending and also accepting deposits for interest respectively. Interest is the major driver of
operations of conventional banks although other valuable services including guarantees, funds
transfers, safety of wealth, facilitation in international trade etc., also form a substantial part of
income of banks.
Islamic banking is a banking system which is established and controlled by the principles laid down
by Islamic Shariah. Interest free banking is a narrow concept denoting a number of banking
instruments or operations which avoid interest. Islamic banking institutions are established under
the Islamic shariah not only as an non interest based institution but also unethical and anti social
practices. In a practical sense, Islamic banking is system which involves the transformation of
conventional money lending into transactions based on tangible assets and real services based on
the permissibly Shariah principles. The model at which

How Does Petruchio Dehumanize Women
Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, any outsider would be able to attest that Katherine and Petruchio
don t have a standard relationship for the entirety of the play, and you must look at exaggerations
used and view the play as a whole. When Gremio and Petruchio use more deeming imagery,
Shakespeare is criticizing the dehumanization of women going on at the time. Petruchio on several
different times makes reference to Katherine being a haggard, a type of untrainable falcon, in terms
of them both being difficult to train, thus dehumanizing Katherine. This viewpoint shows the
ridiculousness of having women being subordinate to men. Shakespeare also criticizes how people

Katherine and Petruchio begin their relationship with him starving, manipulating her words, and
not allowing her to sleep, which is not condoned by Shakespeare. These unrealistic and
exaggerated actions that pain Katherine are used to critique the treatment of women and their role
in society. Shakespeare is not condoning these actions but rather emphasizing their irrationality.
Shakespeare continues criticizing the role of women with demonstrating Baptista and how he is
neglectful of Katherine, showing poor treatment will lead to the shrew behavior, in comparison to
Bianca who is praised for everything, therefore is more desirable with a seemingly hire position in
society. The position of women is based on their attractiveness as a spouse to men. There is no
mother figure in the book so Katherine doesn t have a female role model to look up to, so
Shakespeare is alluding to the importance women have in society in terms of creating more
intelligent creatures. Petruchio treats Katherine as an equal in the scene where they first meet,

This issue was doctrinal. In chapters 4 and 5, Smith takes boundless lengths to show that
historically Baptists have detained that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it alone
stands as the principal authority in all substances of doctrine. This did not refute the use of
confessions. Baptist associations did use confessions to express their views and differentiate
themselves from other denominations. Though Baptists also contributed to the notion of soul
liberty, this was not seen as a chance to advance from confessional ethics. (Pp. 11 12) In the last
chapters of the book, Smith explains how a committee was developed, which was led by Hobbs,
to revise the BFM of 1925. Smith shares how Hobbs s only goal was to enhance the BFM not
rewrite it. There were no main changes made. The manuscript went through numerous drafts and
was done so with a combine effort of the SBTS and Mercer University. The areas that were
examined with the changes were scripture, Ecclesiology, Anthropology, and Soteriology, because
they were re worded or revised in some form. (p. 13) The goal was not to make any key
variations; some important balances were made. In respects to the Scriptures, the committee
dampened down the Bible as inimitable revelation and only recognized it as a printed record of
revelation. The emphasis was taken from scripture understanding to Jesus Christ of Nazareth being

The Birth Mark Symbolism
In the short story, The Birth Mark by Nathaniel Hawthorne, there is a very interesting and
intellectual theme throughout this narrative. The author does a very inspiring job using different
elements in the story such as, symbolism and irony. The author s main theme of the story is striving
for perfection and the conflict of scienceagainst nature. Thus Hawthorne writes this narrative to
provide the reader what happens if we rely too much on achieving supremacy. In The Birth Mark
the story explains how a man, named Aylmer, is completely obsessed about an unusual birthmark
on his wife Georgiana s face. Aylmer states how beautiful and almost perfect his wife seems to be,
for example, you came so nearly perfect from the hand of Nature, that this slightest possible defect,
which we hesitate whether to term a defect or a beauty, shocks me, as being the visible mark of
earthly imperfection (Hawthorne 291). The imperfection, as stated, is the small... Show more

imagination was not long in rendering the birthmark a frightful object, causing him more trouble

(Hawthorne 292). In consequence, Aylmer operates on his wife to remove the birthmark to help
her become perfect but, ironically right as he removes the birthmark Georgiana awakens and says
to Aylmer, Aylmer, dearest Aylmer, I am dying (Hawthorne 301). Hawthorne in the last paragraph
tells us that The fatal hand had grappled with the mystery of life, and was the bond by which an

Buddhism and No-Self Essay
Eastern enlightenment religions have been gaining popularity throughout the western world for the
past few decades, with many people attracted to a different way of experiencing religion. As with
many other enlightenment religions, Buddhism requires disciples to understand concepts that are
not readily explainable: one such concept is that of no self. In this essay I shall discuss the no self
from a number of modern perspectives; however, as no self is difficult to describe I shall focus on
both the self and no self. Beginning with psychological aspects, and neurophysiological research on
transcendental meditation, I shall discuss the impact of modern brain science on our understanding
of the self and transcendence. Next I will outline... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Modern psychology attempts to scientifically explain many aspects of our lives. Yet it seems
that when psychology meets religion the result is rarely a fair compromise. As an example, if
faced with a person claiming to have no sense of self a psychologist may suspect some form of
dissociative disorder. An excellent modern example of spiritualism clashing with psychological
diagnoses is that of the much maligned Aleister Crowley; after years of searching for his own
samyaksambodhi he entered into a period of silence and claimed enlightenment В– the
psychological description of Crowley is that of a paranoid schizophrenic who declined into
catatonia. I simply wonder where the line is that divides the religious experience from the
psychopathological.
Neurophysiologists have shown interest in that state of no self that Buddhist monks can reach
while in prayer. It has been found, using a specialized brain imaging technique based on CT
scanning, that the brain state of Buddhist monks in deep meditation is radically different from that
of the average waking person (Newberg et al., 2001). In fact, during meditation the body changes
its physiological В‘state to a more beneficial pattern (Weiten, 2005, p. 145). This is not to say that
Buddhism is the path В– similar brain patterns have also been found in Franciscan Nuns deep in
prayer. Interesting work has also been done researching the effect of electromagnetic interference on
brain function. Researchers

Essay On Stray Dogs In Bangkok
Topic: Stray Dogs in Bangkok s Temple
Abstract
Thai Buddhist temple is the most well known spot to surrender stray dogs, since they have a ton of
remains. If the temple dogs get along, then stray dog and stray. Other normal spots incorporate
disconnected streets or even outside somebody s fence.
This is the reason people can see stray dogs at most sanctuaries around Thailand. Since nobody

they frequently notice awful. Sometimes Buddhist cloisters effectively debilitate individuals from

It is defined as a set of
web based methods of facilitating both internal utility related communications and necessary
communications between the state
DOT, municipalities, and utility companies as projects are planned and constructed (AASHTO

Even though this study is mainly focused on the use of UMSs for utility relocation activities as a
requirement for the completion of transportation construction projects, the authors recognize that
the potential capability of these systems may involve virtually all utility related procedures required
by transportation agencies.
Therefore, and for the purposes of this paper, a UMS is defined as a set of policies and information
technology resources aimed to improve utility related procedures and activities by facilitating
coordination and communication within the agency and, in some cases, among stakeholders (e.g.,
public agencies, utility owners, contractors, and the community). The principal goal of UMSs is the
reduction of time and cost by expediting processes, identifying potential utility conflicts in a timely
manner, and optimizing decision making procedures. The range of features of the system may vary
depending on the specific preferences, capabilities, and requirements of each agency. For instance,

Hands Down

Song Analysis
Everyone has that one song they can listen to over and over again. There are various reasons
people press the repeat button, whether it be the sound of the singer s voice, the quality of their
musicianship, or their heartfelt lyrics and the story they tell. The song Hands Down , by Dashboard
Confessional tells the story of a day in the life of lead singer, Chris Carrabba, in high school.
Carrabba has said that this song is about the best day he has ever had, and introduces it as such at
concerts. Dashboard Confessional effectively uses paradox, irony, imagery, and repetition, to enable
the listener to create a visual and experience emotions felt by the writer. Hands ... Show more

The boy is hoping for something as simple as a kiss, and this simple action would please him so
much that it would kill him. The boy is willing to give up everything in order to experience this
kiss and end his life on a happy note.
Another literary device used in Hands Down is irony. During the middle of the song, this line sets
the mood for the story and the presumed expectations of a teenage relationship.
The words are hushed, let s not get busted.
Just lay entwined here, undiscovered,
Safe in here from all the stupid questions:
Hey did you get some?
Man, that is so dumb.
Stay quiet, stay near, stay close, they can t hear, so we can get some.
In most relationships sex is an essential and expected part, even for teenagers. Many teen
relationships are subjected to the scrutiny of their peers on whether or not they are getting some .
This stanza is ironic because in the beginning it says how dumb the questions about getting some
are, yet at the end it talks about doing just that. At the very end of the song, Dashboard uses
imagery to describe the little things that you will always remember, and the one special night that
was meant to be ordinary, yet turned out to be so incredibly wonderful.
Hands down, this is the best day I will ever remember.
I ll always remember the sound of the stereo,

Zeal Without Knowledge Summary
The Quest for Knowledge Elder David Bednar said, Learning to love learning is central to the
gospel of Jesus Christ, is vital to our ongoing spiritual and personal development, and is an
absolute necessity in the world in which we do now and will yet live, serve, and work. Learning is
essential to our experience on earth, and must be a lifelong endeavor. However, knowledgeis not
enough. Why must we learn how to apply the knowledge we gain to our lives and learn to think
and act for ourselves? What are the benefits of seeking knowledge and learningto think for
ourselves? Thomas Plummer helps to answer this question in his essay Diagnosing and Treating the

He believes that sometimes we put too much trust in the experts (1990, pg. 443). He shares an
example from his life to illustrate this point. While taking a class in graduate school, his class
was one day discussing a classmate s paper on Heinrich von Kleist s play, Der zerbrochene Krug.
Because it was centered on a description written by a great Kleist scholar, they considered the
paper to be accurate and well written. Plummer s professor showed a picture to the class that
proved this great Kleist scholar to be wrong. The classmate had assumed that the information was
correct, since it came from a Kleist scholar, and had not bothered to check the information for
himself. The professor said, Let that be a lesson to you. Never trust anyone. You must examine
the source yourself (1990, pg. 443 444). According to Plummer, we must develop a healthy
distrust of authorities and experts and seek for knowledge and understanding that we gain on our

Poverty Of A Indebted Poor Countries ( Hipc ) A Project By...
INTRODUCTION
This paper looks at the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) a project by the IMF and World
Bank.
DEBT RELIEF KEY TO POVERTY REDUCTION
The World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) with its view that no poor country faces a
debt burden that it cannot manage, came up with an initiative in 1996 called HIPC initiative. Since
then, the International financial community and the multilateral organizations and governments
have worked tirelessly together to reduce external debt to sustain levels for the many Highly
Indebted Poor Countries. The World Bankand its partner IMF believes that poverty reduction will
come by reducing debt levels of the country.
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES OF HIPC INITIATIVES ON ZAMBIA
The World Bank and the IMF, almost always put conditions to members states to access financial
assistance. HIPC countries like Zambia were not an exceptional.
Four conditions were put in place for HIPC to meet, this includes:
1. be eligible to borrow from the World Bank s International Development Agency.
2. Face an unsustainable debt burden, that cannot be sustain through traditional mechanism debt
relief.
3. Have established a track record of reforms and sound policies.
4. Develop a Poverty Reduction Strategic Paper
The technicalities behind the above conditions came at a price, which to date, a little of progress
has been seen. Civic leaders under the leadership of President Levy Mwanawasa of the Republic of
Zambia, were on each other s tails.

Signs You re Balding and What You Can Do About It
N Signs You re Balding What You Can Do About It So there are some signs that you re balding
but you re not entirely sure. The signs range from finding lots of hair around your living area,
noticing that your scalp is more visible than usual, your hair seems to be growing slower, or a
hairline that seems to be receding faster than your hair is growing. Don t panic, hair loss can be
resolved with a few treatments, read on to find out more. Lots of Hair Falling All of us tend to
lose 50 to 100 hairs a day out of the 100,000 we have on our head. So it is common to find hair
lying around your living area, therefore you need not panic about it. However, if you re facing
multiple signs of balding then this is a crucial sign that you should change a few routines to
ensure the hair fall is natural and not aggravated. Ensure that you re not combing or brushing
your hair too hard, the same goes to drying your hair too roughly with a towel after a shower.
Tugging or applying too much pressure to your hair aggravates hair loss. Changing these simple
lifestyle habits can change the rate of your hair falling out and reduce the chances of balding or
hair loss. Thinning Hair More Visible Scalp If you re starting to notice that you have a more
visible scalp, chances are that your hair is thinning and hair loss is occurring. There are a few
reasons to why this is happening that you can check and probably change. Thinning hair sometimes
occurs due to hormonal changes in your body. These

Why The Chinese Market Is Responsible For The Consumption...
Christine Bigham
Bringing Beer to China On the surface, bringing beer to China seems to be undoubtedly a good
idea. The Chinese market is responsible for the consumption of a quarter of the world s overall
beer volume. Also, a tenth of the revenue from the beer industry can be traced to the Chinese
market. The Chinese beer market is so massive it seems like a sure fire way to generate an increase
revenue for any beer company. The Chinese market seems so viable that many western brands are
looking to expand into the market possibly as a way to compensate for lagging sales in America
as a result of the increase in American preference for craft beers and local brews. In order to enter
this highly competitive Chinese beer market, western companies should try some various less
conventional tactics to entering the marketplace. As stated in the article the Chinese market is
experiencing stagnant growth in their beer industry. This stagnant phase has been attributed to the
Chinese economic slowdown, population aging, as well as the increased interest of Chinese
consumers in comparable beverages and local brews. In order to address these concerns, western
companies should figure out how to take their brand name, but make a local version of it. Making a
premium local craft beer product line specifically for the Chinese market would tap into the Chinese
interests in craft beers, while also simultaneously tapping into the market of younger consumers that
are pushing the

Description Of The Image Of God
Description of the Image of God
Imago Dei which is Latin for the Image of God. In Genesis 1: 27 So God created mankind in his
own image... In the beginning it was Gods intent for mankind to posses the image of God as a
part of His creation. However, due to the fall of man into sin this image of God has been
corrupted from its original state and intent from what God intended it to be. In Genesis 9:6
Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has
God made mankind. Is an example that the image of God still existed even after the fall of
mankind into sin. John Calvin believed this to be true in his theology according to John S.
Hammet Calvin saw the image not as totally erased but hideously distorted and deformed. This
concept is what Calvin described as Total Depravity, nevertheless, the image of God was not lost
just distorted, and can be restored through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ if one chooses to
believe in Him. The New Testament affirms that Jesus Christ was sacrificed to cover our sins so
that we can be righteous in Him through His image. The apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 3:9 10
since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being
renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the one who created him. In this short but
powerful passage Paul tells us to restore the image of God within us which can now be
accomplished because of what Jesus

Lesson 1 Sequencing Lesson
Lesson 1 will start off with a brief vocabulary lesson for the students that builds on cardinal
vocabulary words previously taught in math class (1, 2, 3, 4). This brief vocabulary lesson will help
students link these vocabulary words to sequencing events by teaching them the corresponding
ordinal number words (first, second, third, fourth). Students will have the opportunity to
demonstrate their understanding of sequential languageand their ability recall a sequence of events
from a story in order in a meaningful way through the use of The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric
Carle. Students will have the chance to independently exercise the skill of sequencing when they
are asked to recall the events that take place in the story in the order that they happened in the story.
Students will show their ability to recall the events of the story and their ability to sequence... Show

This lesson will help students to understand signal words (first, next, last) which are commonly
associated with sequencing in text. Once the students have been introduced to this language, they
will have a chance to practice sequencing events through the use of signal words to help
comprehend a text. I will read There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly to the students. The
students will have to recall the different things that the old lady ate, in order, using signal words.
After the story, the students will have to draw three things the old lady swallowed in the correct
order. This activity allows the students to practice using the essential literacy strategy of
sequencing events to fully comprehend the text by having them to recall key details of the story,
their understanding of the syntax of signal words, and by drawing the events they were able to

Biomechanics Of Golf Essay
Golf Biomechanics
Golf, The gentleman s game. A sport renowned for money, colourful pants, old people, Tiger
Woods and being the worst game to watch on TV. But, surprisingly enough, golf has too many
biomechanics than I have time to explain. Everything interesting in golf happens in the span of
about 1.5 seconds and everything that matters happens in half a millisecond. That s right, even
though it takes 5 minutes for a golfer to setup for a shot, 0.004 seconds of those 5 minutes counts.
Now don t get me wrong, I love golf. If I didn t, I d be talking about a sport that requires a sharp
mind and peak physical condition. But, now that I m here, I may as well get on with my presentation
The basic premise of golf is to get the ball in the hole ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the backswing starts, torque is being created as the golfer takes the club back and rotates in a
clockwise direction. Unlike many other sports, a golf swing does not happen while the player is
moving (unless you are happy Gilmore of course). A golfer will remain at a fixed point and
rotate around an axis, which in this instance is around the centre of the chest. Torque can be
calculated by multiplying the amount of force by the lever arm of the force. The lever arm of a
golf swing is calculated by the perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation here to the line of
action of the force here. As I explained earlier, the long shaft of the driver increases the length of
the lever arm and, although more force is required to move the club, a greater amount of speed
can be created. Adding to this, the larger the rotation away from the axis, the more angular
acceleration can be created and a greater amount of torque is produced. This explains why many
great drivers of the golf ball have large amounts of shoulder rotation as it allows them to create as
much torque as possible, translating into larger amounts of angular acceleration and longer drives.
Considering the average length of drives is increasing year by year, it s not hard to see why
increased torque is vital for an advantage in

Final Paper (Summary of Endangered Species Act)
Endangered Species Act What is an endangered species? is a question that needs to be addressed
before getting known of endangered species act. An endangered species is a population of
organisms which is at risk of becoming extinct due to three possible reasons: it is few in numbers.
According to the theory of Exponential Growth Curve proposed by Malthus, a lower population
tends to have a lower reproductive rate and thus a higher risk of going extinct; or a species is
threatened by changing environment. A species which fail to adapt a new environment by means
such as mutation which creates new fitting genes tends to have a ... Show more content on

In the second category, there are three conservation statuses which are critically endangered ,
endangered and vulnerable . They differ in the risk of extinction; critically endangered species has
the highest risk of extinction, followed by the remaining two. The third category consists of 3
conservation statuses: conservation dependent , near threatened and least concern , which differ
from one another in terms of their needs to be included into conservation programs. By
understanding the risk of going extinct of each species according to the Red List, international
organizations and state governments can develop appropriate conservation program corresponding
to each of them. Different graph and statistics about the situation of endangered species in the world

Into The Woods By Stephen Sondheim
Into the Woods is a musical that was written by songwriter, Stephen Sondheim and director, James
Lapine. In this musical, several Disney stories are humorously re told by creatively combining
their stories into one interrelated adventure. This show opened on November 5, 1989 and ran 764
performances before this film of the musical was released in 1990. Into the Woodswas one of
Sondheim s most popular works in over 25 years. He is known to be the giant of musical theatre
during his time for such a creative style. Sondheim combines several fairytales to explain what
happens in an adult mind after happily ever after. Lapine and Sondheim harmonize their theatrical
talents of an adult fairy tale through portrayal of adventure, comedy, tragedy, and reality. Like all
Broadway performances and morality, Into the Woods forms pure quality and very little suffering
through establishment.
The fairy tale stories altered to meet the wisdom of an adult while incorporating relative childhood
stories. Danielle Ferland performed as Little Red Riding Hood, Ben Wright as Jack and the
Beanstalk, Pamela Winslow as Rapunzel, Kim Crosby as Cinderella, and a few others help the
viewer evaluate the true intentions of the Witch, Bernadette Peters in this wish filled Broadway
performance. It all begins when the Baker s father goes into the Witch s garden. This ultimately

Araby Historical Context
Milestone Project I Part II: Sources and Historical Context When it comes to the theories of
Feminist Criticism and Psychoanalytical Criticism an interesting aspect can be found, that at times
they often dispute or ignore one another, though they often coincide. Another aspect that follows
along with this is that the often intertwine with each other. Having both these topics to analyze the

Enid Schildkrout s Into The Heart Of Africa
Into the Heart of Africa was an infamous exhibition at the Royal Ontario Museum in 1989 that
made its way into textbooks as an example of cultural appropriation. The exhibition advertised itself
as the first major African exhibition in Toronto and aimed to be a critical examination of the
relationship between Ontario and Africaat the turn of the century (Burret 2004: p. 127). Through the
juxtaposition of provocative colonial imagery and artifacts with critical texts and ironic captions,
the exhibition challenges dominant colonial narratives regarding Africa (p. 132). Yet, within a few
months of its opening, the museum made national headlines with accusations of racism, cultural
appropriation, and the propagation of old colonial stereotypes... Show more content on

(Young, 2009). From a post colonial perspective, this practice is both harmful and hegemonic
systematically devaluing the cultures of minority groups and casting them as exotic or mysterious.
While this is far from the original intent of Into the Heart of Africa , Anthropologist Enid
Schildkrout argues that it is inevitable that it becomes perceived this way with its ambiguity and
reliance on irony and juxtaposition, built upon unrealistic, and untested, expectations about the
audience (Schildkrout 1991: p. 16). Some scholars argue that despite the exhibition s intentions,
members of the general public do often trust museums as authoritative sources, and were thus
shocked by exhibit s the violent images and seemingly colonial presentation of African artifacts.
(Burret 2004, p. 139). Others draw attention to the lack of involvement of the African Canadian
community, arguing that this led to a detachment between the curators of the exhibition and the
needs and perspective of both its audience and subject matter (Burret 2004, p. 141). Regardless of
the true cause, it is clear that there are many lessons to be drawn from this experience from the
importance of community involvement to the value of a clear presentations of themes and curatorial

The great Michael Jordan once said To many players in today s NBA, Bryant stands on equal
footing with the player he patterned his game after. (http://www.foxsports.com/) I find it
authentically interesting that if you ask Kobe Bryant he will willing confess to attempting to
replicate Michael Jordan s exclusive playing style. When Kobe was questioned concerning the
allegations in regards to Kobe stealing MJ s style of play this was his rebuttal as a kid growing
up in Italy, all I had was video, so I studied everything, Bryant said. I studied every player. Then
once I came back to the States, and I realized I wasn t going to be 6 9, I started studying Michael

The Homelessness Problem Of Homelessness
Homelessness has been an sociological issue for a very long time now. It seems to be a rising
issue all over the country. Here in the Portland, Oregon area, we are very lucky. This is a
wonderful place to live. Socially, we accept everyone no matter what you look like or believe in.
Our mantra is Keep Portland Weird. Honestly, from a sociological standpoint, there are not that
many issues, however there is one that is growing and is becoming a major problem. In Portland,
we have a major homelessnessproblem. On top of the homeless issues there is a growing
indifference towards the homeless issue from the rest of the population. People just do not
seem to care about the homeless here in Portland. We see them so much it is almost like we are
used to them and we do not think about it. We just walk right by, indifferent. Some are annoyed
by the homeless here, most seem to act like they are invisible. The homeless are people too, they
should be treated with dignity. In the past year or so, around 2 million people were left
homeless and this is sure to continue to rise over the next few years. No one really knows why
this is the way it is. Some factors that could cause homelessness are losing a job, not being able
to find a job, low wages, too many bills, various disabilities, and lack of affordable housing and
help. The term homelessness means people who do not have a home. The issue needs to be looked
at in many different angles. Homelessness can be looked at through the eyes

A Summary of William Shakespeare s Henry IV Part 1
Henry IV, Part 1 William Shakespeare is considered the most important playwright of the
European Renaissance, if not the most important of all time. Each character in his collected
works is uniquely defined and highly memorable. In Henry IV, Part I, Shakespeare writes about
the struggle for the control of England during the time of the title king. Everything is in turmoil
following his ascension to the throne and his legacy is in question because of the perceived
personality of his successor to the crown. Not only does he endeavor to maintain his control of
the throne, but also vying are his son Hal who wants to takeover after his father and the rival
Hotspur who wants it for himself but also is representative of an entire faction of people who
want to rebel against Henry IV and do not feel loyal to him. Each of these men believes himself
to be rightfully entitled to become the king and this is a major theme that play out throughout
the play, namely what it means to be worthy of the title King of England; being king is far more
than a matter of luxury and power, it is a burden that only worthy men should be allowed to
undertake. For the current ruler of England, King Henry IV, he believes himself entitled because
of what he was willing to do in order to obtain the throne. The former king, Richard II, was
murdered and his chosen heir passed over by the zealous Henry. This perception of him as a
usurper of the throne spreads out to those who had once supported him. Hotspur

Within the Catholic church, sacrifice is notably perceived as one of the most well regarded acts.
From the Virgin Mary sacrificing her dignity, to the Lord sacrificing his life upon the Cross,
sacrifice reigns as a significant theme throughout the religious doctrine. The Bible, as a piece of
Literature, has transcended profound influence with an emphasis on sacrificeupon various other
works of European literature, particularly in William Shakespeares pieces. In William Shakespeare
s, Othello, Shakespeare astutely elaborates upon how Desdemona s desperate sacrifices to remain

In contrast, women who boldly project themselves receive portrayals such as indecent and

because she blatantly defied the gender roles of society. Wistfully, in return, she met rejection by
men for being confident. Desdemona feared becoming outcasted, alas, she saved the extroversion

Assessing the Functional and Technical Architecture of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Systems In Higher Education
Introduction
The foundational role of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within an institution of
higher education is to serve as a system of record for all interactions while also synchronizing the
many systems, processes and platforms to a series of strategic objectives. At the most fundamental,
foundational level, an ERP system is a system of record, tracking all transactions, activities, and
interchanges between and within departments to ensure information accuracy and fidelity across a
learning institution (Okunoye, Frolick, Crable, 2006). ERP systems are moving away from being
monolithic in scope, focused on the broadest and most common processes to concentrating on
specific, highly customizable workflows throughout institutions of higher education. This shift in
ERP system design is leading to more agile, responsive ERP system components that can more
accurately align to the changing needs of stakeholders throughout learning institutions (Fowler,
Gilfillan, 2003). The intent of this analysis is to evaluate how the functional and technical
architectures of ERP systems are shifting from being purely functionally based to supporting roles
based access and use in higher education (Chen, Razi, Tarn, 2009). This is a critical development in
the maturation of ERP platforms in higher education as it is allowing for the aligning of student
modules

relationships, laws and our ability to do what is in the best interest of the people. In essence, Bailey
is outlining the root of disproportionate opportunities and I agree that a selfish approach to money
making and government cannot and will not create a strong country. The economic structure of the
United states will crumble if the money hungry continue to distort the

Martin Scorcese s Taxi Driver
The film Taxi Driver (1976) directed by Martin Scorcese tells the story of Travis Bickle (Robert
DeNiro), a Vietnam war veteran who takes a job as a night time taxi driver in New York City.
Travis views the city negatively, referring to it as an open sewer . This establishes his perspective
that crime is environmental; a by product of New York Cityitself. Taxi Driveris set in the 1970 s, a
period which saw the aftermath of the Vietnam War and New York City suffer from an economic
recession, considered one of the worst time periods in the history of the city due to the increased
crime rates (Bobbe, 2013). Taxi Driver is a direct commentary on these environmental conditions
that can create crime.

Prior to this, he writes a letter to his parents stating he works for the government and is in a
relationship with Betsy showing he is either trapped in fantasy or lying. His jealousy, as well as
removing a source of corruption on the city seems to be what drives this assassination attempt.
Upon being identified by guards, he flees. Recouping from his failed mission, he acts to rescue
Iris, who he feels cannot do it on her own. The resulting bloodbath sees her pimp, an enforcer
and a john dead at his hands. Travis, wounded, collapses on a couch due to a gunshot wound to
the neck, with no bullets left to fire. The police enter with guns drawn on Travis. He makes a hand
gesture of a gun, points it at his head and pretends to shoot. This action appears to be an attempt to
mock the police, in his detached state believing it can actually kill

Gandhi s Vision and Life in Attenborough s Films
Mohandas K. Gandhi (1869 1948), the man, the legend, is still echoing in the contemporary
world. He had a vision for his birthplace, in the wake of colonization and war, to be tolerant,
violent free and neutral towards all religions. Gandhi had chosen the secular state, that is, the state
that was neutral but not hostile to religions (Parel Brown, 2011, p. 161). He rejected what was
considered progressive and fashionable; to put the responsibility of state cruelty on the victims,
criticizing them for fighting excesses. Subsequently, affording the perpetrators an opportunity to
inflict more punishment on the people. Through discussing Gandhi s philosophical approach and
Attenborough s film successes in depicting his ideas, this essay will demonstrate how Gandhi s
vision and life relates to that of the Sufi Sheikh and monk in Al Mureed and Spring, Summer,
Autumn, Winter and Spring Again films respectively. During the early 1940s, India was going
through a historical turmoil agianst British colonization. Gandhi, among others, refused
submission to the perpetrators. He realized that submission demeans human dignity and ensures
absolute slavery. They see life only in terms of jobs, even if menial in nature, and some sort of
economic benefits even if these are leftovers of what is rightfully yours. Their advocacy is for
grooming people to become well fed slaves instead of accepting temporary hardships for a life of
freedom and dignity. For them submission is a supreme virtue

Essay about The Life and Literary Works of Shirley Jackson
Shirley Jackson was born on December 14, 1919 to Leslie and Geraldine Jackson. Her
surroundings were comfortable and friendly. Two years after Shirley was born, her family with her
newborn brother moved from San Francisco to Burlingame, California, about thirty miles away.
According to her mother, Shirley began to compose verse almost as soon as she could write it
(Friedman, 18). As a child, Shirley was interested in sports and literature. In 1930, a year before
she attended Burlingame High School, Shirley began writing poetry and short stories. Jackson
enrolled in the liberal arts program at the University of Rochester in 1934. But after periods of
unhappinessand questioning the loyalty of her friends, she withdrew from the university.... Show

Not until the year of her death in 1965 twenty five years later was the medal finally awarded to her
in absentia, since she was unable to attend the ceremony. (Friedman, 26)
In 1940, after their graduation Hyman and Jackson, who had a relationship, were married. While
living in Vermont, Jackson continued to write. One of her earliest times in Vermont later became
material for her first book about the family, Life Among the Savages. Between 1945 and 1947,
Jackson was occupied with her first novel, The Road Through the Wall. But it was in 1948 that her
greatest success was achieved. The publication of the short story, The Lottery , brought fame, as
well as letters from readers all over the country. But more often there were abusive letters from
people who did not understand her motives or what she was trying to do. A year later a book
entitled, The Lottery , was published containing an assortment of short stories including The
Lottery. The critics by that time, had decided that Shirely Jackson was a writer of much talent and
uniqueness. Even though Jackson was raising four children while her husband went to work, she
still found time to write. Sometimes when a story idea would come to her, she would bolt off to
her typewriter. Instead of fighting writing, as other writers do; she found the opposite; that writing
was relaxing.
In 1949, the Hymans moved to Westport, Connecticut. As usual she worked hard. Six of her stories

David And Solomon Essay
David and Solomon
King David proved to be a wise and effective leader for Israel. However, it can be said that his
son, Solomon, made several mistakes during his reign. Many of his problems originated from his
Temple, a stucture that was conceptualized by his father to be a deterrent against the paganism,
which infested the land. Yet, it seemed as if several of Solomon s policies actually encouraged
paganism rather than deter it.
King David, a member of the tribe of Judah was chosen by God to lead his people. As everyone
knows, he proved by his wise choices to be a very effective leader. As a great military strategist
David united the tribes and extended the national boundaries so that in his time Israel enjoyed a
greater fraction of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The income from commerce and taxation was insufficient to support all of his building projects,
so he decided to cede 20 cities in Galilee to Tyre in order to raise supplemental income. Other
indications that his empire was weakening was the successful rebellions of Edom and Aram
against Israelite rule. Furthermore, the progressively weakening state of affairs allowed Jeroboam
to break away from Solomon s rule. He was able to attain leadership over Solomon s opponents
those that were frustrated with his policies of severe taxation and forced labor.
Concerning the actual Temple, one must be reminded that King David s original intentions were to
create a memorial against the Canaanite deities and paganism. However, when Solomon was given
responsibility of the construction, he seemed to have forgotten this. Some of the symbolism on the
alter was derived from Phoenicia, and can be traced back to older Canaanite symbols from
Mesopotamia. A serious spiritual weakness was starting to materialize in the Temple during this
time. Its elaborate organization and its heavy indebtedness to Syro Phoenician religious architecture
and practice. The danger of syncretism became very great so great that the following centuries were
characterized by bitter intermittent conflict between religious assimilators and religious separatists
(Albright 150). In other

Analysis Of The Book Venezuelan Crisis
Name: Olatunde Ayo Ogunlana Title: Venezuelan Crisis 1902 Date: May 2, 2014
INTRODUCTION He had nothing to fear; he knew he still had a measure of control over the
situation. He just had to spin the story the right way and these people would again adore him.
They had to understand that as long as they remained on land, under his wing; they were safe.
The air felt soft with the after caress of the mid day rain. Tiny droplets darkened his white suit.
The irony in the atmosphere made him crack a smile so wide he had to bend his head down to
hide it; it was perfect weather, but definitely not his definition of a perfect day. The sudden silence
meant it was time for him to make his speech. He stood, straightened himself, and... Show more

We saw a chance at greatness and we took it. And now, there is no turning back. His tone was
sharper now, more demanding, I see your faces and through them I see your hearts. You have
questions, I am the answer, I have always been... as he spoke, the fire in his voice ignited the
people; looks of curiosity were replaced with adoration. It spurred him on, he beat his chest and,
letting the moment take him, spoke like a roar, ... this is not the time to be timid; there is no
time to falter. Stand with me, stand strong because I assure you, I have a plan. The more he
spoke, the more even he began to believe his words; if the atmosphere hadn t become so tense, he
would have paused to laugh at how impressed he was with himself. But he bellowed on, all the
while sweating and breathing heavily, This insolent foreign foot has profaned the sacred soil of the
fatherland. An unusual deed in the history of civilization without precedent, without possible
justification, a barbarous act, because it infringes the most rudimentary rights of men. You all
have just witnessed an immoral and cowardly collusion of force and betrayal. The battle is
unequal because two of the most powerful nations of Europe have conducted an attack against our
country, which has barely made it out of a long and painful convalescence. He paused to catch his

Being a Chef is one of those professions that people love to dream about, a lot of people think that
being a chef means that you only cook all day. Wrong! As a matter of fact they cook, clean, run the
kitchen, and tell the other cooks what to do. The life of a cook is way more work than you
think. Yes cooking is what they love to do but it only takes some of their day. The other parts of
their day is preparing, ordering ingredients, setting prices and checking stock. They work very
long hours and have little time for relaxing. The life of a chef is not for everyone but those who do
it love it. The source I feel this very good because it shows the ups and downs of being a chef.

Characteristics And Characteristics Of The Mineral Lazurite
There are a myriad of minerals, gemstones, and rocks throughout the world with each having select
features and characteristics that differentiate one another. When selecting a mineral to conduct a
research report on, one could be drawn to Lazurite for a multitude of factors whether it be the
aesthetically pleasing appearance or the various ways it has been incorporated throughout history.
Therefore, one can define such a magnificent mineralby characteristics and historical application
for which humans have tended to gravitate towards. First and foremost, the mineral Lazurite has
many scientifically definable features. For example, in terms of hardness on the Mohs scale,
Lazurite falls within the range of 5 5.5 which is about the halfway point between the weakest
minerals and the strongest. As for another feature of Lazurite, the color usually falls in an array of
blues from light to dark and sometimes green or even violet. When Lazurite is ground into a
powder formally known as a streak, it brings forth the true color of the mineral and blueseems to be
the case. When referring to the luster, one can define three different characteristics such as a
vitreous, greasy, and waxy appearance. The luster is an illumination of the reflected light upon
the surface space of the mineral. Therefore in terms of luster, it would be classified as a
nonmetallic due to vitreous (glassy) or greasy appearance. According to the article Guide to
Minerals, Rocks, and Fossils, Lapis Lazuli is

The San Antonio Spursforward Kawhi Leonard won defensive MVP in 2015 16 and is also one of the best players in the league, averaging 25 points per game and 2 steals per game. Another great player who also has great defensive characteristics is Paul George of the Indiana Pacers. When not on the floor the Pacers are one of the worst defensive teams, but when he is on the court they become 6th defensively. He is almost single handling leading the Pacers to a playoff position this year, at the 6th seed as of right now. The final great current NBA player whose great defensive ability makes him strive is Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond. Drummond is the anchor of the Pistons, and a defensive monster, averaging 1.6 blocks per game. Andre is leading the NBA with a defensive rating of 93, and is one of the best at defending the paint. That is how all great current NBA players share a trait of great defense to make them the best current NBA players, examples are Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Andre Drummond. In his early years, Raphael was trained by his father Giovanni Santi, a court painter and versifier, allowing him to gain a wide education in the arts, literature, and social skills. This enabled Raphaelto move easily amongst the higher circles of court society and this helped him gain recognition. His career falls naturally into three phases and three styles, first described by Giorgio Vasari: his early years in Umbria, then a period of about four years (from 1504 1508) absorbing the artistic traditions of Florence, followed by his last hectic and triumphant twelve years in Rome, working for two Popes and their close associates. The author does a very inspiring job using different elements in the story such as, symbolism and irony. The author s main theme of the story is striving for perfection and the conflict of scienceagainst nature. Thus Hawthorne writes this narrative to provide the reader what happens if we rely too much on achieving supremacy. In The Birth Mark the story explains how a man, named Aylmer, is completely obsessed about an unusual birthmark on his wife Georgiana s face. Aylmer states how beautiful and almost perfect his wife seems to be, for example, you came so nearly perfect from the hand of Nature, that this slightest possible defect, which we hesitate whether to term a defect or a beauty, shocks me, as being the visible mark of earthly imperfection (Hawthorne 291). As with many other enlightenment religions, Buddhism requires disciples to understand concepts that are not readily explainable: one such concept is that of no self. In this essay I shall discuss the no self from a number of modern perspectives; however, as no self is difficult to describe I shall focus on both the self and no self. Yet it seems that when psychology meets religion the result is rarely a fair compromise. As an example, if faced with a person claiming to have no sense of self a psychologist may suspect some form of dissociative disorder. An excellent modern example of spiritualism clashing with psychological diagnoses is that of the much maligned Aleister Crowley; after years of searching for his own samyaksambodhi he entered into a period of silence and claimed enlightenment В– the psychological description of Crowley is that of a paranoid schizophrenic who declined into catatonia. I simply wonder where the line is that divides the religious experience from the psychopathological. Neurophysiologists have shown interest in that state of no self that Buddhist monks can reach while in prayer. It has been found, using a specialized brain imaging technique based on CT scanning, that the brain state of Buddhist monks in deep meditation is radically different from that of the average waking person (Newberg et al., 2001). In fact, during meditation the body changes its physiological В‘state to a more beneficial pattern (Weiten, 2005, p. 145). This is not to say that Buddhism is the path В– similar brain patterns have also been found in Franciscan Nuns deep in prayer. The Chinese market is responsible for the consumption of a quarter of the world s overall beer volume. Also, a tenth of the revenue from the beer industry can be traced to the Chinese market. The Chinese beer market is so massive it seems like a sure fire way to generate an increase revenue for any beer company. The Chinese market seems so viable that many western brands are looking to expand into the market possibly as a way to compensate for lagging sales in America as a result of the increase in American preference for craft beers and local brews. In order to enter this highly competitive Chinese beer market, western companies should try some various less conventional tactics to entering the marketplace. As stated in the article the Chinese market is experiencing stagnant growth in their beer industry. This stagnant phase has been attributed to the Chinese economic slowdown, population aging, as well as the increased interest of Chinese consumers in comparable beverages and local brews. In the beginning it was Gods intent for mankind to posses the image of God as a part of His creation. However, due to the fall of man into sin this image of God has been corrupted from its original state and intent from what God intended it to be. In Genesis 9:6 Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. Is an example that the image of God still existed even after the fall of mankind into sin. John Calvin believed this to be true in his theology according to John S. Hammet Calvin saw the image not as totally erased but hideously distorted and deformed. This concept is what Calvin described as Total Depravity, nevertheless, the image of God was not lost just distorted, and can be restored through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ if one chooses to believe in Him. The New Testament affirms that Jesus Christ was sacrificed to cover our sins so that we can be righteous in Him through His image. The apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 3:9 10 since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the one who created him. • 24. Biomechanics Of Golf Essay Golf Biomechanics Golf, The gentleman s game. A sport renowned for money, colourful pants, old people, Tiger Woods and being the worst game to watch on TV. But, surprisingly enough, golf has too many biomechanics than I have time to explain. Everything interesting in golf happens in the span of about 1.5 seconds and everything that matters happens in half a millisecond. That s right, even though it takes 5 minutes for a golfer to setup for a shot, 0.004 seconds of those 5 minutes counts. Now don t get me wrong, I love golf. If I didn t, I d be talking about a sport that requires a sharp mind and peak physical condition. As the backswing starts, torque is being created as the golfer takes the club back and rotates in a clockwise direction. Unlike many other sports, a golf swing does not happen while the player is moving (unless you are happy Gilmore of course). A golfer will remain at a fixed point and rotate around an axis, which in this instance is around the centre of the chest. Torque can be calculated by multiplying the amount of force by the lever arm of the force. The lever arm of a golf swing is calculated by the perpendicular distance from the axis of rotation here to the line of action of the force here. As I explained earlier, the long shaft of the driver increases the length of the lever arm and, although more force is required to move the club, a greater amount of speed can be created. Adding to this, the larger the rotation away from the axis, the more angular acceleration can be created and a greater amount of torque is produced. This explains why many great drivers of the golf ball have large amounts of shoulder rotation as it allows them to create as much torque as possible, translating into larger amounts of angular acceleration and longer drives. Considering the average length of drives is increasing year by year, it s not hard to see why increased torque is vital for an advantage in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An endangered species is a population of organisms which is at risk of becoming extinct due to three possible reasons: it is few in numbers. From a post colonial perspective, this practice is both harmful and hegemonic systematically devaluing the cultures of minority groups and casting them as exotic or mysterious. Some scholars argue that despite the exhibition s intentions, members of the general public do often trust museums as authoritative sources, and were thus shocked by exhibit s the violent images and seemingly colonial presentation of African artifacts. In the past year or so, around 2 million people were left homeless and this is sure to continue to rise over the next few years. No one really knows why this is the way it is. Some factors that could cause homelessness are losing a job, not being able to find a job, low wages, too many bills, various disabilities, and lack of affordable housing and help. Each character in his collected works is uniquely defined and highly memorable. In Henry IV, Part I, Shakespeare writes about the struggle for the control of England during the time of the title king. Everything is in turmoil following his ascension to the throne and his legacy is in question because of the perceived personality of his successor to the crown. Not only does he endeavor to maintain his control of the throne, but also vying are his son Hal who wants to takeover after his father and the rival Hotspur who wants it for himself but also is representative of an entire faction of people who want to rebel against Henry IV and do not feel loyal to him. Each of these men believes himself to be rightfully entitled to become the king and this is a major theme that play out throughout the play, namely what it means to be worthy of the title King of England; being king is far more than a matter of luxury and power, it is a burden that only worthy men should be allowed to undertake. For the current ruler of England, King Henry IV, he believes himself entitled because of what he was willing to do in order to obtain the throne. The former king, Richard II, was murdered and his chosen heir passed over by the zealous Henry. This perception of him as a usurper of the throne spreads out to those who had once supported him. • 39. Assessing the Functional and Technical Architecture of... Assessing the Functional and Technical Architecture of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems In Higher Education Introduction The foundational role of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within an institution of higher education is to serve as a system of record for all interactions while also synchronizing the many systems, processes and platforms to a series of strategic objectives. At the most fundamental, foundational level, an ERP system is a system of record, tracking all transactions, activities, and interchanges between and within departments to ensure information accuracy and fidelity across a learning institution (Okunoye, Frolick, Crable, 2006). ERP systems are moving away from being monolithic in scope, focused on the broadest and most common processes to concentrating on specific, highly customizable workflows throughout institutions of higher education. This shift in ERP system design is leading to more agile, responsive ERP system components that can more accurately align to the changing needs of stakeholders throughout learning institutions (Fowler, Gilfillan, 2003). The intent of this analysis is to evaluate how the functional and technical architectures of ERP systems are shifting from being purely functionally based to supporting roles based access and use in higher education (Chen, Razi, Tarn, 2009). This is a critical development in the maturation of ERP platforms in higher education as it is allowing for the aligning of student modules ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Between 1945 and 1947, Jackson was occupied with her first novel, The Road Through the Wall. But it was in 1948 that her greatest success was achieved. The publication of the short story, The Lottery , brought fame, as well as letters from readers all over the country. But more often there were abusive letters from people who did not understand her motives or what she was trying to do. A year later a book entitled, The Lottery , was published containing an assortment of short stories including The Lottery. The critics by that time, had decided that Shirely Jackson was a writer of much talent and uniqueness. Even though Jackson was raising four children while her husband went to work, she still found time to write. Sometimes when a story idea would come to her, she would bolt off to her typewriter. Instead of fighting writing, as other writers do; she found the opposite; that writing was relaxing. In 1949, the Hymans moved to Westport, Connecticut. As usual she worked hard. Six of her stories were published in various ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. David And Solomon Essay David and Solomon King David proved to be a wise and effective leader for Israel. However, it can be said that his son, Solomon, made several mistakes during his reign. Many of his problems originated from his Temple, a stucture that was conceptualized by his father to be a deterrent against the paganism, which infested the land. Yet, it seemed as if several of Solomon s policies actually encouraged paganism rather than deter it. King David, a member of the tribe of Judah was chosen by God to lead his people. As everyone knows, he proved by his wise choices to be a very effective leader. As a great military strategist David united the tribes and extended the national boundaries so that in his time Israel enjoyed a greater fraction of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The income from commerce and taxation was insufficient to support all of his building projects, so he decided to cede 20 cities in Galilee to Tyre in order to raise supplemental income. Other indications that his empire was weakening was the successful rebellions of Edom and Aram against Israelite rule. Furthermore, the progressively weakening state of affairs allowed Jeroboam to break away from Solomon s rule. He was able to attain leadership over Solomon s opponents those that were frustrated with his policies of severe taxation and forced labor. Concerning the actual Temple, one must be reminded that King David s original intentions were to create a memorial against the Canaanite deities and paganism. However, when Solomon was given responsibility of the construction, he seemed to have forgotten this. Some of the symbolism on the alter was derived from Phoenicia, and can be traced back to older Canaanite symbols from Mesopotamia. A serious spiritual weakness was starting to materialize in the Temple during this time. Its elaborate organization and its heavy indebtedness to Syro Phoenician religious architecture and practice. The danger of syncretism became very great so great that the following centuries were characterized by bitter intermittent conflict between religious assimilators and religious separatists (Albright 150). Analysis Of The Book Venezuelan Crisis Name: Olatunde Ayo Ogunlana Title: Venezuelan Crisis 1902 Date: May 2, 2014 INTRODUCTION He had nothing to fear; he knew he still had a measure of control over the situation. He just had to spin the story the right way and these people would again adore him. They had to understand that as long as they remained on land, under his wing; they were safe. The air felt soft with the after caress of the mid day rain. Tiny droplets darkened his white suit. The irony in the atmosphere made him crack a smile so wide he had to bend his head down to hide it; it was perfect weather, but definitely not his definition of a perfect day. The sudden silence meant it was time for him to make his speech. He stood, straightened himself, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We saw a chance at greatness and we took it. It spurred him on, he beat his chest and, letting the moment take him, spoke like a roar, ... this is not the time to be timid; there is no time to falter. The more he spoke, the more even he began to believe his words; if the atmosphere hadn t become so tense, he would have paused to laugh at how impressed he was with himself. But he bellowed on, all the while sweating and breathing heavily, This insolent foreign foot has profaned the sacred soil of the fatherland. An unusual deed in the history of civilization without precedent, without possible justification, a barbarous act, because it infringes the most rudimentary rights of men. You all have just witnessed an immoral and cowardly collusion of force and betrayal. The battle is unequal because two of the most powerful nations of Europe have conducted an attack against our country, which has barely made it out of a long and painful convalescence.
