Miranda Warning Importance
The Miranda Warning is highly important. If the police fail to read the suspect his or her Miranda
Rights the prosecutor can t use for most purposes anything the suspect says as evidence against the
suspect at trial. The Miranda Warning requires that officers let you know of certain facts after your
arrest, before questioning you. A rule was made that when police have you in custody, they have to
remind you of your Constitutional rights before questioning you or they can t use the things you say
against you in court. It s just an easy way to decide if a statement was voluntary. That s why Miranda
is important, and that s why Miranda can, and does, still get criminal cases dismissed when the
defendant makes incriminating statements to the police.

Screwtape Letters Analysis
The Screwtape Letters
The Screwtape Letters is a thought provoking book that details how easily humans are ensnared by the
Enemy. The enticement of the world seems so appealing to human, however, C.S. Lewis makes it very
clear that the enticement in the world is only temporary, and is ultimately a tactic of the Enemy. Often
times, temptation creeps into our minds unexpectedly, but temptation s effects are deadly. The Enemy
will stop at nothing to tempt us, but God s Word says that He will not tempt you beyond what you can
bear, and when temptation comes, God will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Throughout the Screwtape Letters, the character Screwtape writes letters to his nephew, Wormwood.
The reader is propelled into the life of the Patient; and Screwtape makes it clear to Wormwood that he
must stop at nothing to get the Patient from focusing on his relationship with God, and this becomes
the motivation and obsession behind every note Screwtape writes. However, Screwtape does not only
tell Wormwood to tempt the Patient in only one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Screwtape also tries to use lust as a distraction in the Patient s life. Being that the Patient is young and
unmarried, Screwtape is to highlight lusts to keep his burning desire to be for women, and not for the
One who gave him life. This approach was very clever, but believers must realize that the weapons we
fight with are not the weapons of this world. Not only that, but Screwtape encourages Wormwood to
not let the Patient s Christianity shine through. That being said, the Patient would become self
conscious about his relationship with God, thus getting him to focus on self. This tactic, however, is
nothing new. Satan tries nothing new, but it is important for us to know how to resist the devil, and
that is through prayer, and the reading of God s

Bike Lanes
Dear Tom,
I chose to address the problem of not having bike lanes at UNR because it is something that I see
affects students everyday throughout campus. As not only a person who walks, but also rides
throughout campus, I am able to see from both sides of the spectrum why this is a problem. Not only
can it be a safety issue, but it is an inconvenience for anyone here at the University. I was able to
identify the stakeholders because I am one. Anyone here at the University is a stakeholder because
everyone on campus is affected by this problem. Many students, staff, and faculty are concerned with
the safety and wellbeing throughout campus, so with this problem being a major inconvenience I was
able to see how it may be concerning to some people. The most valuable sources of information I used
when researching this problem was the physical field research, establishing a survey, and the archival
research, meaning researching other schools and seeing how they handle or handled the situation. I
was able to ask many students whether they see not having bike lanes as a problem and every single
student I asked agreed. Although, it was a major problem being able to perform this field research. It
takes time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sidewalks may become more crammed limiting pedestrians on where they could walk. At the
same time pedestrians will be safer and possibly be able to travel faster and worry less. The ones using
the bike lanes could also benefit, as in they will be able to commute faster and more efficiently from
class to class. Although, they could also be faced with the problem of being limited on where they
could ride throughout campus. Not only will the students, staff, and faculty here at the university be
able to benefit from the proposed solution, but so will the campus as a whole. For example, the
campus could become much more safe and efficient, allowing the university to move up in the ranks
as a bike friendly

Performance Measurement And Management System Design...
INTRODUCTION
A lot of businesses are facing challenges to succeed in a global competitive market. Demands from
customers is constantly and rapidly changing in terms of the sophistication of the products and
services they require and because of this, interest on performance measurement and management
(PMM) has notably increased in the last 20 to 30 years. This report discusses the problems and
difficulties of performance measurement and management system design interventions of management
accounting fields in today s business environment. It also gives a literature review, critical analysis
and findings on this topic.
PROBLEMATIC ASPECTS
All through history, many organisations have used performance tools to assess the success of the
organisation. Assessment of performance has predominantly been based on financial criteria since the
Middle Ages. (Burns, 1998). Performance measurement tools are used to monitor what management is
doing with factors such as share price, return on investment, profit percentage, sales volume etc.
There was a growing development in the 1980s that traditional performance measures were no longer
adequate enough to manage organisations competing in modern environments. It has been put to the
attention of many authors on this topic that financial information is historical and gives insufficient
indication of the company s performance. It lacks strategic focus and often inhibits innovations.
However, it encourages short term goals. It usually focusses

Why Did They Build Castles During The Middle Ages
Castles were built during the Middle Ages as fortified homes for kings and nobility. Why did they
build Castles? During the Middle Ages much of Europe was divided up between lords and princes.
They would rule the local land and all the people who lived there. In order to defend themselves, they
built their homes as large castles in the center of the land they ruled. They could defend from attacks
as well as prepare to launch attacks of their own from their castles. Originally castles were made of
wood and timber. Later they were replaced with stone to make them stronger. Castles were often built
at the top of hills or where they could use some natural features of the land to help with their defense.
After the Middle Ages castles weren t built as much, especially ... Show more content on

Keep The keep was a large tower and the last place of defense in a castle. Curtain Wall The wall
around the castle which had a walkway on it from which defenders could fire arrows down onto
attackers. Arrow Slits These were slits cut into the walls that allowed archers to shoot arrows at
attackers, but remain safe from return fire. Gatehouse The gatehouse was built at the gate to help
reinforce the castle defenses at its weakest point. Battlements Battlements were at the tops of castle
walls. Generally they were cut out from walls allowing defenders to attack while still being protected
by the wall. Famous Castles Windsor Castle William the Conqueror built this castle after he became
ruler of England. Today it is still the primary residence of English royalty. Tower of London Was built

How Is Gabriel Conroy Presented In The Dead
1. James Joyce s short story, The Dead depicts characters that all are seemingly alive, yet, on the
inside, are very much dead. The main character, Gabriel Conroy, is more concerned with himself and
how he is perceived than anyone else. His conceited nature plays a major role in his epiphany at the
end of the story. After his wife, Gretta, divulges her childhood to Gabriel and the first young man who
ever loved her, Gabriel come to the realization that he had never felt like that himself towards any
woman but he knew that feeling must be love (p. 628). With Gabriel s sudden epiphany, the issue the
readers knew, but he did not, surfaced. Gabriel was dead inside and only cared about himself. Any
form of love he ever gave was to himself to boost his own egotistical personality. 2. Pathetic Fallacy is
a literary technique used in the setting to reflect the feelings for the characters. In terms of Helena
Maria Viramontes s short story, The Moths, this technique is used to reflect Abuelita s character. In the
beginning, Abuelita s house was full of life, having a garden full of avocados, sweet potatoes, and

Alphonse Daudet s short story, A Game of Billiards, is a satire on war and everyone involved in it. It
mocks the folly of the soldiers on the battlefield. They sit and wait for their Marshal to give direct

not move and allow themselves to me ruthlessly murdered, they await orders from headquarters, but
none come (p. 31). Their Marshal is ignoring their many attempts to contact him, simply because he
wants to win a game of billiards. He allows his entire regime to be murdered for his own mistakes.
The entire idea of war, on the other hand, is seen as a vice. Men huddle in close quarters in order to
take the lives of other men. Innocent people are mercilessly killed for something that, in the grand

The Paraphilia That I Choose For Dicuss Is Transvestic...
Please provide a summary of what paraphilia you researched in this weeks DB and assignment. The
paraphilia that I choose to dicuss is transvestic fetishism which has two parts for the diagnosis they are
a) over a period of at least 6 months, in a heterosexual male, recurrent, intense sexually arousing
fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving cross dressing and b) the fantasies, sexual urges, or
behaviors cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important
areas of functioning. There mey be an increased risk for sexual acting out for example, subjects have
accidentally died when they were engaged in autoerotic asphyxia, which is a high risk paraphilic
behavior based on self induced cerebral anoxia by hanging or suffocation during masturbation. In one
study results indicated that 36 men and 5 women ever having experienced sexual arousal from actual
cross dressing behavior, results suggest that sexual arousal to cross dressing is rare, but could be
associated with potentially criminal paraphilic sexual behavior such as voyeuristic and exhibitionistic
acts, and there was a non significant trend suggesting that childhood sexual victimization was related
to transvestic fetishism. Was there any research located linking bullying and paraphilia? Explain
findings. There were elements found in the childhood/adolescent hisory of sadistic offender they

Fishing Culture Essay
Fishing has been in human history since time started. Fishing has been a part of our culture for all
these years because it helped us survive because it provided food therefore helping us develop and
expand has an organism. The fishing culture has been on every single continent and is vital knowledge
for survival as time progresses new technologies appear to help evaluate the fishing and its methods.
Math and science are continuing to advance and further develop how humans obtain fish. As time goes
by developed countries pay great amounts of attentions to fish stocks and the consumption of fish
species. These numbers are very important to environmentalist because it helps the government set

A bag limit is the number of fish a person could take of an individual species of fish. Some of the
major variables that scientist look for is the anatomy of the fish, human intervention and pressure of
the individual fish species, and climate. Every single species of fish is different. Baitfish are meant to
be consumed by predator fish therefore they are plentiful and usually in abundance so there are no bag
limits. Even the color of the fish is important. Red Snapper is in abundance because they are Red. In
the fish eye spectrum red is invisible so these fish are plentiful so the government does not have to put
strict regulations. Offspring is also very important some fish lay thousands of eggs because in reality
not many will survive, but bigger fish will lay less numbered fish because the chance of survival is
much higher for these fish species. Math is all around these subjects because scientist collects data and
numbers from oceans to predict and examine a bag limit. There is also statistics in bag limits because
scientist have to go out collect data on the fish and as well as the people. For example the popularity
of the fish correlates directly to the number of offspring a fish produce. If a fish produces a lot of off
spring and there s no demand for the fish then no bag limits should be placed, vice versa. In the
fishing word everything is a numbers game because numbers don t

The Life and Writing of William Faulkner Essay
The birth of the modernist movement in American literature was the result of the post World War I
social breakdown. Writers adopted a disjointed fragmented style of writing that rebelled against
traditional literature. One such writer is William Faulkner, whose individual style is characterized by
his use of stream of consciousness and writing from multiple points of view. World War I had a more
profound effect on society than wars prior. With new deadly weapons, like poison gas, high death
tolls, and the first occurrence of total war, shocked the world, tearing people between the modern and
the tradition. Traditional society was torn down by the destruction of the war. As with most literary
movements, writers reflect the world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His actually education only goes as far as one year at the University of Mississippi. After leaving
Oxford and living in New Haven, Connecticut for a few years, Faulkner joined the British Royal
Flying Corps. He never served active duty, as the war ended before his training did. Faulkner returned
home and began writing poetry. But his early writing was more of the traditional style a mix of
Shakespeare, Victorian, and Edwardian. It wasn t until a trip to New Orleans in 1925 that he began to
fiddle with his writing style, after a friend encouraged him to write more Southern based prose. His
style also grew as he began reading James Joyce, a high modernist writer, and Sigmund Freud, and
also took a trip to Europe the center of modernist writing. With these influences, Faulkner began
writing novels about Southern society, with an emphasis on the psychology of the characters. For
example, in his novel The Sound and the Fury, Faulkner writes from four different points of view; the
first three sections are of each of the three brother s point of view, and the last section is omniscient.
His writing also plays with chronology, not always following a specific timeline. The disjointedness of
time is very prominent in As I Lay Dying. About the death of a mother, the 59 inner monologues and
fifteen characters make the book more about the characters psychology rather than a

Lego Argument Essay
When I first saw this picture a lot of thoughts appeared in my head. For example, What kind of Lego
advertisement is this? . It seemed a little out of the ordinary for an advertisement for children. Those
thoughts only appeared when saw at a glance. There is more to this picture than most people would
think. In my opinion, I believe that this picture is too in depth for what I assume is Lego s targeted
audience is and that is children. It seems that it is targeted at the parents of children instead. I also
think that this picture seems too dark for a Legos advertisement. When you usually think of Legos,
you think of bright colorful blocks that you can make anything you can imagine; but instead, you
might think of a man holding a gun made from Legos and that is blurred to his head and stating that
your children shouldn t watch too much television. I understand they are trying to sell something, but
this is a little too crazy for an advertisement for a children s toy. ... Show more content on

with the gun made from Legos, pointing it to his head symbolizes that imagination is dead or that his

Arguments Against The 14 Amendment
Immigration has become a very controversial topic that no one can stop talking about. From President
Barack Obama s Immigration Reform to potential 2016 presidential candidates, everyone is looking at
different ways to amend our broken immigration system. Almost everyone agrees that we need tighter
border control and there needs to be more regulations to prevent the hiring of illegal immigrants. Not
everyone is sure what should be decided about immigrant parents, who are not American citizens, and
their American born children. This topic has left people questioning the 14th Amendment and
birthright citizenship. While some people have no tolerance for these children and want them out,
others have thought of better solutions that keep the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They argue that people come to America with plans of having what is called an anchor baby. An
anchor baby not only receives American citizenship, but also means that the babies parents can stay
here as well. Plus, once the child turns twenty one, they can become a sponsor for the rest of the
family to come to America. Another belief in people that want to take away birthright citizenship is
that taxpayer s money is being wasted on these families. People do not like the idea of paying for
these children s education because their parents are here illegally. The parents of these children do not
have to pay taxes because they are not residents of America, but that does not stop them from using up
public resources. The families still use hospitals and school without having to pay basic taxes. Non
residents that are charged with crimes get to go to a prison that they never paid for. In just California
alone, non residents, make up nearly 30% of prisons, costing California over a billion dollars annually
in incarceration. Drug crime increases along with the rising number of illegal immigrants. Mexico s
drug cartels are now overflowing into the southwest states. People do not like what these aliens are
doing. They definitely do not like the idea of a couple receiving permission to stay in America because
they simply had a child. The people that want to prevent

Progressive rock which was first known as progressive pop, later prog rock is a rock subgenre of
music that originated in the United Kingdom. It soon later had further developments in Germany,
Italy, and France, throughout the mid to late 1960s and 1970s. Prog rock developed from psychedelic
rock, and originated as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music. Bands
abandoned the short pop single in favor of instrumentation and compositional techniques more
frequently associated with jazz or classical music in an effort to give rock music the same level of
musical sophistication and critical respect.

Best 5 Foods to Slim Down
Overview
Americans spent approximately thirty billion a year on slim down products in vain. New research
highly states that, there are more than a thousand foods fighting hunger, boosting metabolism, and
ultimately helping lose weight. Thereby, grocery shopping is the best for a person to do, to slim down.
Small amounts of healthy fats induced food, helps one to feel full for long and ease absorption of fat
soluble vitamins. Overtime, science has proved that eating more fats cannot make any person fat.
However, picking the right amount of fats is one of the unique tricks for losing weight. Here are the

This is because, antioxidants known as catechins are what aids in burning of fats and speeding
metabolism. A recent study conducted in Japan shows that 35 men who drink a bottle of oolong tea
combined with green tea catechins lost more weight than those who didn t. Their metabolic rates were
also found to be higher. Most notably, they exhibited a significant reduction on body mass index
(BMI).
5. Fruits for food
a) Pears
They are recognized for their high fiber content. They are also great in in filling a person up. They
contain pectin fiber, which decreases blood sugar levels thereby aiding one to avoid in between meals
during the day. A Brazilian study found that overweight women who ate three small pears a day lost
more weight as compared to women who took the same diet but ate three oat cookies a day, instead of
fruits.
b) Coconut oil
Coconut oil has more saturated fats than any of the other cooking fats. This kind of fat has little effect
on cholesterol levels. It converts energy easily as compared to other fats. Therefore, it helps in weight
loss. Saturated fats contain lauric acid. This is a unique lipid that battles bacteria and improves
cholesterol levels. In addition, dietary use of coconut oil reduces abdominal obesity.

Human Cloud Essay
Over the last decade, the human cloud has become a staple of doing business. Companies from main
street to wall street can quickly find extremely talented subcontractors online, from anywhere in the
world, at a very reasonable price. For this reason, it has become increasingly difficult to trade
competitively without crowdsourcing, or accessing the human cloud. The human cloud, a term used to
describe the online, talentsourcing ecosystem that has emerged over the last decade or so, revolves
around online middlemen, such as Upwork , that engage a virtual pool of workers from around the
world that can be tapped, on demand, to provide a broad range of services to any interested buyer
(Kaganer,
2012). As the world becomes more global, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2).
All these advantages notwithstanding, the challenges of leveraging the human cloud should not be
taken lightly. Perhaps the most notable downside to international trade would be the sophistication of
communication required to manage cloud workers.
Virtual organizations can speed up cycle time, but they pose new challenges for managers on how to
manage remote workers. Communications technologies and the Web let employees work from
anywhere around the corner or around the world and require special attention to managing
communication (Carpenter, 2009, p. 62).
For the uninitiated, differences in culture, language and cross time zone coordination make the
managerial task formidable indeed.
Given this challenge, we wonder if there exists a set of principles for successfully leveraging the
human cloud? Here are three principles that managers of a distributed workforce can rely on to
successfully leverage the human cloud.
Principle #1: Inspire
Most workers want to be a part of an enterprise that matters. Current research suggests that in the
United States, the millennials generation, specifically, has a preference for social enterprises
(FerriReed,
J., 2014). As the global workforce ages, the advantage in

Deterrence And Rational Choice Theory
Throughout the world crime is happening every single day. Yes, some people may feel as if the
deterrence theory does not work. Due to the fact that crime still happens in the world. This essay will
look at the support for the theory. As well as the key problems for the theory. Next, it will explain
some of the newest directions in deterrence/rational choice theory. Finally, it will either agree/disagree
with someone s thought on deterrence and how it does not work and is a waste of time to study.
Deterrence and rational choice are two different things. Deterrence is used to punish those who
disobey and in return help deter others from committing the same crime. While rational choice is
when the individual thinks about the cost and the benefits of them committing this crime (Cornish and
Clarke, text CH 34). Deterrence and rational choice tend to work pretty well on young adults. For
example, if a teenager sees his friends face time in prison for committing an act of violence. That may
deter them from committing the same crime or something similar. Reason is that they possibly think of
the pros and cons of each situation and how the effect it could have on family. Also where deterrence
and rational choice work could not be define. Due to the fact that judges interpret the law, and do not
have a across the board rule and sentencing guideline to help them make a decision. Deterrence and
rational choice does have some problems. One problem is that there is no way to tell if

Traditional Methods And Styles Of Leadership Styles
Today there are a lot of organizations that are consistently changing their leadership styles to motivate
their teammates. Traditional methods and styles of leadership must change to meet the changing
environment (Sims, 2002, p.242). As a leader you must use the best leadership style that will work
best for you that will in due time work in the better interest of the company. You must learn to use
different styles because different situations call for different actions. Choosing the right type of style,
at the right time, in the right situation makes a good leader. With each style you have to have good
communication skills so the leader can communicate with the group and of course people outside of
the group. This requires listening, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This style is not about bossing the crew around it s about managing to them how to run the company
properly and successfully. It is best used for employees who don t know their job well or for new
employees who don t know their job at all. This style will make it better on the employee because they
will receive coaching and they will better perfect their job. Being a successful leader requires courage,
flexibility and capability to enhance an effective organization. You can use any of the styles that works
for you but you have to have great characteristics to go along with it. Authoritarian leaders tend to fail
their organization because they don t have any creativity or development towards their foundation.
Creativity involves more than one person it involves a team. Usually this type of leader do not accept
anyone s input but their own and then problems start to occur where the team begins to think the
leader is demanding, egotistical, or just plain out bossy. Using the authoritarian style doesn t make
leaders bossy but only using this style does. For authoritarian to work well it requires understanding,
abiding, and hard working individuals. This style would not work for members who want their voice
heard. The employee must be able to trust their employer and put all faith into them.

Correlation between the novels The Flight to Canada and The Different Drummer Both of the novels
The Flight to Canada by Ishamael Reed and The Different Drummer by Melvin Kelley were powerful
and uplifting. The main subject of these two novels are slavery and freedom allowing the characters to
search for their identity either spiritually or physically. The Different Drummer is the novel that
encourages us to strive and push oneself to make a real difference in life, and stop taking our lives and
existence for granted. Both novels detailed the story of the main characters, that were striving to leave
their homes for a better life. All in all, both novels clearly illustrates the history of the complicated
relationships between the two races: whites and blacks.
As depicted in both novels, apart from poor compensation and intimidation, the slaves worked long
hours and under pressure. After working on the plants and sugarcane fields, the slaves had to do other
duties in a homestead, handling cattle, houses and so forth. In most of these cases, the slaves

Medicine is NOT Child s Play
1. Ever since I was a little girl I knew that when I grew up I wanted to become a doctor. Both of my
parents were in their early twenties when they had me, they were in their first year of college. My dad
majored in business, while my mom was went a different route and was working to become a nurse.
She would talk about how working in the medical field ran in the family, but she always told me that I

A pediatrician should be able to take any problem and analyze it and think of different ways to solve
it. You should be a pretty social person, you re going to talk and interact with many different people
on a daily you don t want to come off uncertain or rude, it wouldn t make parents want to bring their
child to you. You should remember that you are working with children, who can be a little more
dramatic and emotional than an adult, compassion would be a good quality to have. You need to be
able to work well under pressure, working with children can get scary at times, but you can let that get
in the way of your job ( OK College Start. org).

Energy Demand
The need for energy is a dominant, driving the force of the world. Paralleling population growth,
energy demand cannot be supported by fossil fuels, a limited resource with negative impacts on the
environment. Currently, Global energy consumption is approximately 78% fossil fuels and 19%
renewables. It is critical that the ratio continues to shift in favor of renewables. With the transition to
using more renewable energy sources, it is imperative to fully understand each energy source and the
impact it has on the world. Bagasse derived methanol is a potential sustainable fuel source that may
largely shape the future. Despite its strengths and potential as a biofuel, bagasse derived methanol s
shortcomings should not be overlooked. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cultural Differences And Personality Types Essay
When a person announce their getting married, they say it with the hopes of eternal love of their future
spouse. Not realizing that conflict occurs, but not with the spouse but the family members. Some of
the conflict may be due to various cultural differences and personality types. Culture is the belief,
custom, knowledge, rituals, language and other things that such as a way of thinking or life. As
cultural differences is determine on what we believe. Mayer (2012) mentions, that beliefs are what s
important to an individual. And if the conflict arises, individuals take things personally because it
becomes personal of what the individual believe is right as it may be wrong in the eyes of another
person. So having the differences, others are not at the same level and conflict arises. Depending on
how it s manage depends on one s culture norm and the impact on family gatherings. Therefore, one
has to understand their own triggers and avoid them while interacting negatively with others. Coming
from a culture that defined my beliefs and raised in a custom that model the definition of an extrovert,
I oppose to the behavior of others. An extrovert is one that welcome others and treat them with
alacrity, which is why, I became a target to be taken advantage of by my in laws. My conflict is not
only with conversations but those that impose their selfish behaviors onto others as well. As conflict
are unavoidable, they are natural and necessary to grasp a better understanding of

King Louis XIV And The Decline Of Ballet In Western Europe
Classical ballet has been a major part of society especially in France and Italy before it spread to other
parts of the world such as Russia and it developed from the court dances which date back to as far
back as the 16th century. This essay will discuss and focus on the way in which dance contributed to
court balls during the 16th and 17th century, the role King Louis XIV had on ballet and his influence
in the art of ballet and lastly it will discuss the decline of ballet in Western Europe and the reason as to
why this decline had taken place.
Dancing was a favourite pastime in the Renaissance period. (Sonny Watson, 2015) There are many
who describe this period as a revival or rebirth of culture and learning in Europe from the 14th century

Louis chose only the best to be a part of the ballets at the time. In 1661, he established the Academie
Royal de Danse (Royal Academy of Dance) which was significant as it was the world s first ballet
school in the Western world. This academie was given to teachers who were given quarters in the
Louvre. Not only that, but it was a sign that ballet was officially being recognized. Louis XIV had a
mission for this particular company he wanted ballet to continue for as long as possible, he wanted
ballet to improve and he also wanted it to be restored to how it used to be once it first started and
people started taking an interest in it. It was in 1680 when Beauchamp became the school s director
until 1687. In 1669, Louis XIV established Academie d Opera which was directed by Pierre Perrin and
the first ballet master was Beauchamp. Also in 1669, King Louis XIV founded the Royale Academie
de Musique (Royal Academy of Music) better known today as the Paris Opera which is the world s
oldest running ballet company and one of the best. Lully had the opportunity to run this company and
Beauchamp became a principle choreographer. Louis XIV stopped dancing in 1670, at the age of 31,
however he still loved ballet. However, once he retired, more talented and professional dancers were

Persuasive Essay On Feminism
Feminism has been around for many centuries, it ll be around for more years to come. Women want to
be seen equal to men, but that can t happen because most men think it s okay the way most women are
treated. Feminist want equality, most feminist don t think females is the admirable sex. On the other
hand most feminist do think females are the superior sex, they sometimes take the role of being a
feminist to a whole new level. Some question whether only girls are allowed to be feminist, this isn t
true. If feminists want equality they can t turn down a someone because of their gender. We need to
show the world the true meaning of feminism, they think what they see on the news is the true
feminist. Feminism isn t thinking females are better than men, we need to show that to the world.
Although women aren t treated the same as men, feminist are working hard for gender equality.
Feminism has gone back to the 1792, the Vindication of Women s Rights, was one of the first feminist
movement. The true question is what is feminism? Feminism is the want of women s rights and
equality of sexes. Feminist want the equality for both genders, no gender is superior to the other.
Women go through many things everyday, for instance women everyday are being sexually harassed.
The women s accounts portray James Toback as a man who, for decades, sexually harassed women he

Diagnostic Coding And Procedural Coding
Medical Coding Essay Academic Essay Diagnostic coding and procedural coding lend themselves
well to the improvement of healthcare efficiency. Both have accurate recording for diagnoses and the
procedures enable the analysis of information for the patient s care, research, performance
improvement, healthcare planning and facility management. The diagnosis codes are divided into
chapters, sections, subsections, and subcategories (1). A coder should become familiar with all of the
codes before the individual moves on. It is very important to understand when an additional code or
codes are needed, what codes are secondary, and when additional information may be needed to
complete the code (1). Also, the coder should always code the reason why the patient sought medical
advice as the main diagnosis (1). There are many rules when using diagnostic and procedural codes.
By using the national diagnostic and procedural coding system correctly the coder will have no trouble
on finding the right codes to use for the case scenarios.
The information the coder needs to get from the health records is very important because this will
provide the correct information on the claim when it is billed out. If the steps are not followed
correctly then the information being submitted will not be correct. Here are the steps that need to be
taken to find the proper sequencing when diagnosing and coding are the coder needs to find the main

Analysis Of Letters To My Child s Staff Person By Michael...
Category, classification, type, and style are all words that could be used to define the term genre. Most
people automatically relate genre to specific forms of entertainment like music or television, but
varying forms of writing should be added to that list. The way a piece of writing is presented or

Differing forms of media and technology are often used as a source of knowledge. Because the

Integrity In Sir Thomas More s A Man For All Seasons
In A Man for All Seasons, Sir Thomas More, the plot s protagonist, displays a reoccurring theme of
integrity. According to Webster s Dictionary, integrity is the adherence to moral and ethical principles;
and soundness of moral character. Dedicated to not losing himself by consenting to the King s divorce,
Thomas More continually shows the adherence to his morality rather than the wishes of those around
him. Even though this historic drama ultimately ends in the beheading of Sir Thomas More, his
integrity shows his devotion towards himself, his piety towards his country, and his self respect that
contrasts with the other characters.
The theme of integrity is portrayed through More s devotion to himself. The author, Robert Bolt,

For instance, Richard s god is Cromwell because Cromwell is the one who forms his identity. Rich s
selfishness shows his undeveloped morals because he hangs loosely off of friends, like Cromwell,

morals are distinguished by his way to form into whatever character a position holds, which contrasts
with More s morals because More will not be anything except himself. Rich s selfishness in pleasing
his own self reflects the morals that he has because he has a desire to have power, popularity, and
recognition from society.. A man with an adamantine sense of his own self . . . could yield to the

Modern And Modern Software Project Management
Introduction Alternative approaches to management developed over the years are extremely important
to modern software project management, although new approaches are needed to deal with some of
the toughest challenges. According to experts, the popular interest in management as a discipline and a
field of study is fairly recent. But management, both as a practice and as a field of study, has a
respectable history, in many different countries, going back almost two centuries. (Drucker 2008,
p.12). Modern approaches to management were developed in the USA after World War II which are
now taught in colleges and universities. The four classic functions about management one may learn
in school are: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (Nelson Economy 2005, p. 5). More
functions need to be added to the list of skills for acquiring in the process of learning about project
management aspects. Project management challenges can be viewed from a process perspective and
many experts such as McFarland (1970) highlighted this view. Management is the process by which
managers create, direct, maintain and operate purposive, organizations though systematic,
coordinated, cooperative human effort (McFarland 1970, p. 5). Because projects are transient, their
delivery follows a development process, from germination of the idea, through initiation, design and
delivery, to commissioning, handover to the client and closeout of the work. (Turner 2014, p. 5)

Guilt In The Sniper
During the times of war, lines are blurred and deaths arise where guilt has no room to wrap itself
around a soldier s head as they choose between killing and being killed. Under the summer evening
and heavy artillery fire of Dublin, Ireland, a republican sniper lays waiting, in a fanatical haze, behind
the parapet of a building s roof. He decides to light a cigarette, despite the risk of exposure, and
encounters an enemy sniper opposite the street from his position. Promptly after, an enemy vehicle

and a soldier exposed in the open turret, the marksman seeks upon the rival sniper, killing him by a

Occupational Therapy Model
Theories, models of practice, assessments and intervention are what shape occupational therapy as a
practice and how practitioners look at their clients and design the interventions they use. A theory is an
overarching description of a set of circumstances and their relationship with each other (Fisher 2008).
Fisher also describes models of practice and the way they help to organize one s views and assess the
things about a person or their environment that support or limit their performance. An assessment and
intervention is practical guidance of what specifically is being addressed, how to look for those
deficits and how to go about working with them. Whilst a practitioner will probably use only one
model when working with a client, they will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Canadian Model of Occupational Performance and Engagement divide occupation in to self care,
leisure and productivity and emphasize the link which exists between occupational performance and
health. This model focusses on the affective (physical) and cognitive components of the person whose
self care, productivity and leisure occupations occur in the physical, social and cultural environment
while adding a fourth, the institutional environment comprising legal, political and economic aspects.
The emphasis is on the person, their occupation and environment, the dynamic relationship between
these three subsystems is occupational performance. (Duncan 2012) The Canadian Model of
Occupational Performance and Engagement takes occupation beyond performance as it considers the
importance of engagement and inclusion, which can be prevalent in a person who has had a stroke,
due to the person being physically unable to partake in occupations they previously did or feeling the
negative impact of the stroke on their sense of self. This is supported by Broken et al (2012) who

Rooney Mara s Model Of Conventional Western Sexuality
The model, Rooney Mara, is depicted in this image in a very traditionally feminine fashion. However,
along with being traditionally feminine, she also appears to uphold euro centric beauty standards, as
her skin is very pale, her face possesses symmetry, high cheekbones, a heart shape overall and double
eyelids. These features are very much idealized in Western culture, and even other parts of the world
where a monolid is more common and so surgery is required to obtain a double eyelid and darker
skinned people will choose to bleach their skin to achieve their idealised whiteness.
Her makeup is done to enhance features like her cheekbones which have been contoured to highlight
their definition, and her lips are red and full which is commonly associated with a sexual appeal, in
that men often associate red lips with thoughts of sex or the vagina specifically, consciously or
subconsciously. The sexual appeal is also strongly blanketed with the undertones of ... Show more

epitome of expected femininity, a standard that women should aspire to become and a guideline for
what a man should look for in a woman. Altogether, her appearance has time and thought out into it,
which is often a pushed rule onto women in that their appearance becomes their most important
aspect. Also, the lack of space the model takes is indicative of the dainty stereotype that women are
small and unable to complete most tasks without help, this also presents a toxic guideline for men; that
they are expected to take care of a woman and that she is helpless instead of equal division between
tasks, careers and daily functioning. The strength of the image and its portrayal of femininity is backed

It would be nice if decision making was indeed a simple process and that a set of ethical principles
was readily available for employees to plug in and walk away from, with a decision to be forthcoming.
However, in reality that is not, nor will it ever be, the case when it comes to ethics and decision
making. It is safe to say that decision making is one of the most important if not the most important of
all individual and group efforts within an organization.
Ethics are the rules, principles, standards, or beliefs that commonly define right and wrong. Ethics are
involved in all facets of business from decision making to budgeting, from personnel issues to
leadership. Today s managers must be able to see the ethical issues in the choices they face, make
decisions within an ethical framework, and build and maintain an ethical work environment. Managers
must be particularly sensitive to ethical issues because of their key role as a bridge between upper
management and operating employees. For most employees, their manager is the only contact they
have with middle and top management. As such, employees interpret the company s ethical standards
through the actions and words of their managers. If managers take company supplies home, cheat on

  • 2. Miranda Warning Importance The Miranda Warning is highly important. If the police fail to read the suspect his or her Miranda Rights the prosecutor can t use for most purposes anything the suspect says as evidence against the suspect at trial. The Miranda Warning requires that officers let you know of certain facts after your arrest, before questioning you. A rule was made that when police have you in custody, they have to remind you of your Constitutional rights before questioning you or they can t use the things you say against you in court. It s just an easy way to decide if a statement was voluntary. That s why Miranda is important, and that s why Miranda can, and does, still get criminal cases dismissed when the defendant makes incriminating statements to the police. ... • 3. Screwtape Letters Analysis The Screwtape Letters The Screwtape Letters is a thought provoking book that details how easily humans are ensnared by the Enemy. The enticement of the world seems so appealing to human, however, C.S. Lewis makes it very clear that the enticement in the world is only temporary, and is ultimately a tactic of the Enemy. Often times, temptation creeps into our minds unexpectedly, but temptation s effects are deadly. The Enemy will stop at nothing to tempt us, but God s Word says that He will not tempt you beyond what you can bear, and when temptation comes, God will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). Throughout the Screwtape Letters, the character Screwtape writes letters to his nephew, Wormwood. The reader is propelled into the life of the Patient; and Screwtape makes it clear to Wormwood that he must stop at nothing to get the Patient from focusing on his relationship with God, and this becomes the motivation and obsession behind every note Screwtape writes. However, Screwtape does not only tell Wormwood to tempt the Patient in only one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Screwtape also tries to use lust as a distraction in the Patient s life. Being that the Patient is young and unmarried, Screwtape is to highlight lusts to keep his burning desire to be for women, and not for the One who gave him life. This approach was very clever, but believers must realize that the weapons we fight with are not the weapons of this world. Not only that, but Screwtape encourages Wormwood to not let the Patient s Christianity shine through. That being said, the Patient would become self conscious about his relationship with God, thus getting him to focus on self. This tactic, however, is nothing new. Satan tries nothing new, but it is important for us to know how to resist the devil, and that is through prayer, and the reading of God s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Bike Lanes Dear Tom, I chose to address the problem of not having bike lanes at UNR because it is something that I see affects students everyday throughout campus. As not only a person who walks, but also rides throughout campus, I am able to see from both sides of the spectrum why this is a problem. Not only can it be a safety issue, but it is an inconvenience for anyone here at the University. I was able to identify the stakeholders because I am one. Anyone here at the University is a stakeholder because everyone on campus is affected by this problem. Many students, staff, and faculty are concerned with the safety and wellbeing throughout campus, so with this problem being a major inconvenience I was able to see how it may be concerning to some people. The most valuable sources of information I used when researching this problem was the physical field research, establishing a survey, and the archival research, meaning researching other schools and seeing how they handle or handled the situation. I was able to ask many students whether they see not having bike lanes as a problem and every single student I asked agreed. Although, it was a major problem being able to perform this field research. It takes time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The sidewalks may become more crammed limiting pedestrians on where they could walk. At the same time pedestrians will be safer and possibly be able to travel faster and worry less. The ones using the bike lanes could also benefit, as in they will be able to commute faster and more efficiently from class to class. Although, they could also be faced with the problem of being limited on where they could ride throughout campus. Not only will the students, staff, and faculty here at the university be able to benefit from the proposed solution, but so will the campus as a whole. For example, the campus could become much more safe and efficient, allowing the university to move up in the ranks as a bike friendly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Performance Measurement And Management System Design... INTRODUCTION A lot of businesses are facing challenges to succeed in a global competitive market. Demands from customers is constantly and rapidly changing in terms of the sophistication of the products and services they require and because of this, interest on performance measurement and management (PMM) has notably increased in the last 20 to 30 years. This report discusses the problems and difficulties of performance measurement and management system design interventions of management accounting fields in today s business environment. It also gives a literature review, critical analysis and findings on this topic. PROBLEMATIC ASPECTS All through history, many organisations have used performance tools to assess the success of the organisation. Assessment of performance has predominantly been based on financial criteria since the Middle Ages. (Burns, 1998). Performance measurement tools are used to monitor what management is doing with factors such as share price, return on investment, profit percentage, sales volume etc. There was a growing development in the 1980s that traditional performance measures were no longer adequate enough to manage organisations competing in modern environments. It has been put to the attention of many authors on this topic that financial information is historical and gives insufficient indication of the company s performance. It lacks strategic focus and often inhibits innovations. However, it encourages short term goals. It usually focusses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A bag limit is the number of fish a person could take of an individual species of fish. Some of the major variables that scientist look for is the anatomy of the fish, human intervention and pressure of the individual fish species, and climate. Every single species of fish is different. Baitfish are meant to be consumed by predator fish therefore they are plentiful and usually in abundance so there are no bag limits. Even the color of the fish is important. Red Snapper is in abundance because they are Red. In the fish eye spectrum red is invisible so these fish are plentiful so the government does not have to put strict regulations. Offspring is also very important some fish lay thousands of eggs because in reality not many will survive, but bigger fish will lay less numbered fish because the chance of survival is much higher for these fish species. • 11. The Life and Writing of William Faulkner Essay The birth of the modernist movement in American literature was the result of the post World War I social breakdown. Writers adopted a disjointed fragmented style of writing that rebelled against traditional literature. One such writer is William Faulkner, whose individual style is characterized by his use of stream of consciousness and writing from multiple points of view. World War I had a more profound effect on society than wars prior. With new deadly weapons, like poison gas, high death tolls, and the first occurrence of total war, shocked the world, tearing people between the modern and the tradition. After leaving Oxford and living in New Haven, Connecticut for a few years, Faulkner joined the British Royal Flying Corps. He never served active duty, as the war ended before his training did. Faulkner returned home and began writing poetry. But his early writing was more of the traditional style a mix of Shakespeare, Victorian, and Edwardian. It wasn t until a trip to New Orleans in 1925 that he began to fiddle with his writing style, after a friend encouraged him to write more Southern based prose. His style also grew as he began reading James Joyce, a high modernist writer, and Sigmund Freud, and also took a trip to Europe the center of modernist writing. With these influences, Faulkner began writing novels about Southern society, with an emphasis on the psychology of the characters. For example, in his novel The Sound and the Fury, Faulkner writes from four different points of view; the first three sections are of each of the three brother s point of view, and the last section is omniscient. His writing also plays with chronology, not always following a specific timeline. The disjointedness of time is very prominent in As I Lay Dying. It seemed a little out of the ordinary for an advertisement for children. Those thoughts only appeared when saw at a glance. There is more to this picture than most people would think. In my opinion, I believe that this picture is too in depth for what I assume is Lego s targeted audience is and that is children. It seems that it is targeted at the parents of children instead. I also think that this picture seems too dark for a Legos advertisement. When you usually think of Legos, you think of bright colorful blocks that you can make anything you can imagine; but instead, you might think of a man holding a gun made from Legos and that is blurred to his head and stating that your children shouldn t watch too much television. An anchor baby not only receives American citizenship, but also means that the babies parents can stay here as well. Another belief in people that want to take away birthright citizenship is that taxpayer s money is being wasted on these families. People do not like the idea of paying for these children s education because their parents are here illegally. The parents of these children do not have to pay taxes because they are not residents of America, but that does not stop them from using up public resources. It soon later had further developments in Germany, Italy, and France, throughout the mid to late 1960s and 1970s. Prog rock developed from psychedelic rock, and originated as an attempt to give greater artistic weight and credibility to rock music. Companies from main street to wall street can quickly find extremely talented subcontractors online, from anywhere in the world, at a very reasonable price. For this reason, it has become increasingly difficult to trade competitively without crowdsourcing, or accessing the human cloud. The human cloud, a term used to describe the online, talentsourcing ecosystem that has emerged over the last decade or so, revolves around online middlemen, such as Upwork , that engage a virtual pool of workers from around the world that can be tapped, on demand, to provide a broad range of services to any interested buyer (Kaganer, 2012). Perhaps the most notable downside to international trade would be the sophistication of communication required to manage cloud workers. Virtual organizations can speed up cycle time, but they pose new challenges for managers on how to manage remote workers. Communications technologies and the Web let employees work from anywhere around the corner or around the world and require special attention to managing communication (Carpenter, 2009, p. 62). For the uninitiated, differences in culture, language and cross time zone coordination make the managerial task formidable indeed. Given this challenge, we wonder if there exists a set of principles for successfully leveraging the human cloud? Here are three principles that managers of a distributed workforce can rely on to successfully leverage the human cloud. Principle #1: Inspire Most workers want to be a part of an enterprise that matters. Current research suggests that in the United States, the millennials generation, specifically, has a preference for social enterprises (FerriReed, J., 2014). Due to the fact that crime still happens in the world. This essay will look at the support for the theory. As well as the key problems for the theory. Next, it will explain some of the newest directions in deterrence/rational choice theory. Finally, it will either agree/disagree with someone s thought on deterrence and how it does not work and is a waste of time to study. Deterrence and rational choice are two different things. Deterrence is used to punish those who disobey and in return help deter others from committing the same crime. While rational choice is when the individual thinks about the cost and the benefits of them committing this crime (Cornish and Clarke, text CH 34). Deterrence and rational choice tend to work pretty well on young adults. For example, if a teenager sees his friends face time in prison for committing an act of violence. That may deter them from committing the same crime or something similar. Reason is that they possibly think of the pros and cons of each situation and how the effect it could have on family. Also where deterrence and rational choice work could not be define. Due to the fact that judges interpret the law, and do not have a across the board rule and sentencing guideline to help them make a decision. Deterrence and rational choice does have some problems. Authoritarian leaders tend to fail their organization because they don t have any creativity or development towards their foundation. Creativity involves more than one person it involves a team. Usually this type of leader do not accept anyone s input but their own and then problems start to occur where the team begins to think the leader is demanding, egotistical, or just plain out bossy. Modern And Modern Software Project Management Introduction Alternative approaches to management developed over the years are extremely important to modern software project management, although new approaches are needed to deal with some of the toughest challenges. According to experts, the popular interest in management as a discipline and a field of study is fairly recent. But management, both as a practice and as a field of study, has a respectable history, in many different countries, going back almost two centuries. (Drucker 2008, p.12). Modern approaches to management were developed in the USA after World War II which are now taught in colleges and universities. The four classic functions about management one may learn in school are: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling (Nelson Economy 2005, p. 5). More functions need to be added to the list of skills for acquiring in the process of learning about project management aspects. Project management challenges can be viewed from a process perspective and many experts such as McFarland (1970) highlighted this view. Management is the process by which managers create, direct, maintain and operate purposive, organizations though systematic, coordinated, cooperative human effort (McFarland 1970, p. 5). Yes, we were vague with the unit, first we didn t know what happened or why. And second, you never speculate or immediately blame the equipment. I told them a number of times the issue was still being investigated and told the operators to say the same, at the time that s all they needed to know and that s all we ... • 36. Rooney Mara s Model Of Conventional Western Sexuality The model, Rooney Mara, is depicted in this image in a very traditionally feminine fashion. However, along with being traditionally feminine, she also appears to uphold euro centric beauty standards, as her skin is very pale, her face possesses symmetry, high cheekbones, a heart shape overall and double eyelids. These features are very much idealized in Western culture, and even other parts of the world where a monolid is more common and so surgery is required to obtain a double eyelid and darker skinned people will choose to bleach their skin to achieve their idealised whiteness. Her makeup is done to enhance features like her cheekbones which have been contoured to highlight their definition, and her lips are red and full which is commonly associated with a sexual appeal, in that men often associate red lips with thoughts of sex or the vagina specifically, consciously or subconsciously. The sexual appeal is also strongly blanketed with the undertones of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In terms of conventional western femininity, the model has been groomed and presented to us as the epitome of expected femininity, a standard that women should aspire to become and a guideline for what a man should look for in a woman. Altogether, her appearance has time and thought out into it, which is often a pushed rule onto women in that their appearance becomes their most important aspect. The strength of the image and its portrayal of femininity is backed up by the near complete lack of masculine traits being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It would be nice if decision making was indeed a simple process and that a set of ethical principles was readily available for employees to plug in and walk away from, with a decision to be forthcoming. However, in reality that is not, nor will it ever be, the case when it comes to ethics and decision making. It is safe to say that decision making is one of the most important if not the most important of all individual and group efforts within an organization. Ethics are the rules, principles, standards, or beliefs that commonly define right and wrong. Ethics are involved in all facets of business from decision making to budgeting, from personnel issues to leadership. Today s managers must be able to see the ethical issues in the choices they face, make decisions within an ethical framework, and build and maintain an ethical work environment. Managers must be particularly sensitive to ethical issues because of their key role as a bridge between upper management and operating employees. For most employees, their manager is the only contact they have with middle and top management. As such, employees interpret the company s ethical standards through the actions and words of their managers. If managers take company supplies home, cheat on maintenance reports, or engage in other unethical practices, they set a tone for their work groups that is likely to undermine all the efforts by top management to create a corporate climate of ...
