Analysis Of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower
Although depression may seem like an endless burden to bear, those suffering from the mental illness
need to hold on to realize that they are not alone, and that depression does end. Through the use of a
range of film techniques employed throughout the final scene of the film, Stephen Chbosky
successfully weaves this idea into the closing sequence of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The
comedy drama coming of age film reflects on the trials and tribulations of adolescent life, as we join
protagonist Charlie on his journey of development. As Charle is introduced as a socially awkward
wallflower suffering severely from depression, the film techniques used during the ending scene show
how Charlie has found his place in the world with friends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dubbed by Sam as the Tunnel Song she loves to listen to while she cruises through the night, the song
Heroes by David Bowie further supports Chbosky s success in establishing a sense of hope for the
viewer. Charlie s non diegetic commentary stating this one moment when you know you re not a sad
story. You are alive. followed by the song s lyrics we can be heroes, just for one day, support each
other in emphasizing the idea of having those moments where you feel like nothing else matters, and
you can feel like you re a hero, just like how Charlie and his friends are feeling on top of the world.
The lyrics of the diegetic song which state though nothing, will keep us together/we can steal time,
just for one day, reflect on Charlie and Sam s relationship. They realize that they will not be able to
maintain a relationship since Sam lives away from Charlie to go to college, but despite this, they have
learned to enjoy the little time they have together and make the most of it. Chbosky s use of diegetic
music once again perfectly serve its purpose of creating a sense of hope for the viewer, and illustrating
the newfound lessons that the viewer has learned with Charlie alongside his quest for maturity. He
teaches the viewer that depression will not always be continual darkness there will be moments where

The DRG System
DRG determines the payment under Medicare Part A program for acute short term inpatient hospital
services. DRG systems have changed over the years, it is still used for prospective payment for the
Medicare program for inpatient hospital services. Also, many states now use various forms for
Medicaid programs and commercial insurers. The DRG payment is determined by a combination of
key data elements, the hospitals location where the services are performed and demographics. The
hospital stay is determined by the patients diagnoses, ICD 10 CM codes, any surgical procedures
performed and the age of the patient and discharge status. DRG groupings refers to DRG codes,
patient classification model and key elements determines the number of codes. The classifications are
labeled using groupings referred to as DRG code and the number of codes ... Show more content on

The CPT code set is used to describe medical, surgical, and diagnostic services and is designed to
communicate information about procedures with coders, accreditation organizations, and physicians,
patients. The purpose of the codes is for financial, and administrative and analytical purposes. For
example, if a physician performs a total abdominal colectomy Cpt code (44159) should be used.
However, Cpt code (49000) exploratory laparotomy should not be used because it is included with
code (44159) it is incorrect to bill for both. Medicare and Medicaid identify CPT codes as level 1 of
the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding Systems. When using Category II codes the 5th character
is identified by an alphabetical character. The CPT section includes information about modifiers,
measures and the source, there is currently 11 CPT Category II codes. CPT Category III codes are
used for data collection services and procedures. These codes are intended to be used in the approval
process by the Food and Drug Administration

Essay About My Best Day
Have you at any point had an exceptionally paramount day that you wish you could remember those
minutes over and over again if you could? Well I do. Everything begins when I attempted this
celebrated surely understood Mexican dish called Birria. My goodness did I begin to look all starry
eyed at this fiery delicious stew meat that I lean toward eating this than any other dish. Be that as it
may, mind you, seafood was my most loved sustenance yet Birria has prevailed upon my heart any
fish dish. I can simply recall the best and absolute best day ever that I had when I was nine years of
age. On August seventh, 2007 my ninth birthday celebration is the thing that has turned this exact day
into my most memorable memory. The day preceding my birthday, August sixth, I was pressing my
gear quickly around 6 o clock pm since I had a flight to take with my folks for my birthday surprise. I
was so energized and anxious to know where me and my family would go. I kept running towards my
father s Nissan auto and sat in the back with my younger sibling clasping her safety belt on her. I
recollect that I was chiming into my most loved Rihanna tune from the radio station so I already knew
it was going to be a good day. We arrived at the Oakland air terminal and ... Show more content on

some other Hawaiian islands you know it feels like you are in heaven. Particularly when you are
youthful you have no kind of worries or stress. The weather was burning hot that I couldn t fall asleep

Essay On Anti Semitism In America
Earlier students of American Jewish life minimized the presence of anti Semitism in the United States,
which they viewed as a late and alien phenomenon on the American scene arising in the late 19th
century. More recently, scholars have asserted that no period in American Jewish history was free of
anti Semitism. The debate continues about the significance of anti Semitism in different periods of
American history. Anti Semitism has always been less prevalent in the United States than in Europe.
The first governmental incident of anti Jewish sentiment was recorded during the American Civil War.
The United States was restrictive towards Jewish immigration during the 1920s by enacting with the
Johnson Reed Act blocking Jewish students from attending Harvard University.
One way the United States was restrictive towards Jewish immigration was the Johnson Reed Act. The
Immigration Act of 1924 limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States
through a national origins quota. The Quota provided immigrations visas to two percent of the total
number of people of each nationally in the United States as the 1890 national census. It completely
excluded immigrants from Asia. In 1917, the U.S. Congress enacted the first widely restrictive
immigration law. The uncertainty generated over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In particular, in 19th and 20th centuries some countries had Jewish Quotas for higher education, a
special case of Numerus clauses. Jewish educational quotas could be statewide law or adopted only in
certain institutions, often unofficially. The limitation took the form of total prohibition of Jewish
students, or of limiting the number of Jewish students so that their share in the student s population
would not be larger than their share in general population. In some establishments, the Jewish quota
placed a limit on growth rather than set a fixed level of participation to be

Personification In Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening
Robert Frost s poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, was written in 1922 then later
published in 1923. In the poem, the speaker expresses his feelings and thoughts of the woods during
the darkest night of the year. The speaker and his horse makes a random stop in a certain area of the
woods. The speaker seemed very interested in the scenery of that part of the woods. Although the
speaker wants to stay, he has to keep his promise and continue on. Frost uses personification, imagery,
and alliteration to express the feelings and moods from the snowy night in the woods. Frost uses
personification to convey how worried the horse is and to describe the environment of that part of the
woods. My little horse must think it queer, (line #) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This does allow the reader to focus on how the horse is shaking his harness bells. The only other
sound s the sweep (10). In this line the O and S sound is being repeated. The reader was able to
understand how this line was meant for what the speaker heard during his stop. The woods are lovely,
dark and deep, in line 13 the D sound is being repeated to emphasize the scenery of the woods. By
using the words dark and deep the reader is able to understand the big idea of how the woods must
have looked through the speaker s eyes. Frost was able to grab the reader s attention to each subject
from his use of alliteration throughout the poem. Frost s use of alliteration, personification, and
imagery definitely conveyed the speaker s attitude towards the woods. The reader believes Frost wrote
about the woods to show how peaceful and calming it is in an isolated place such as the woods. Most
people live in crowded neighborhoods or over populated places, but living in a secluded area
decreases the stress of others outside their household. Because of how isolated the woods are, they can
worry about themselves compared to worrying and stressing on the outside

Texas Tech University Scholarship Essay
Scholarships have always been a mandatory aspect of my college career. As an undergraduate student
at Texas Tech University, I was solely responsible for paying for my tuition and I applied for as many
scholarships as I could find. Working throughout the years was necessary so that I could afford my
tuition. While my parents wanted to help me, they were not financially able to. One of my sisters
currently attends Texas A M University and my other sister will attend college in 2 years. Because of
this, finances in my home have been tightly spread. In order to return to school to receive my Master s
Degree, I will have to apply for loans and scholarships once again.
Music has been one of my greatest passions throughout my life. Being involved in music at Texas
Tech University was not only a way to relieve stress, it gave me the opportunity to grow as a leader. I
was a member of the Goin Band from Raiderland, Texas Tech s marching band, for four years. During
my time as a member of the Goin Band, I was selected to become a visual instructor. As a visual

The Ethics Of Belief By Clifford. Pascal
Why it is wrong to Believe Anything upon Insufficient Evidence
Name
Institution
Introduction The fact that one can believe in something or a statement is based on, among other
factors, the available evidence. A range of philosophers have written widely on this topic. Clifford in
his Influential essay The Ethics of Belief defends the contention that it is always wrong for any human
being to believe anything if there is insufficient evidence. He uses two stories to illustrate wrong ways
through which people arrive at beliefs. William James, however, disapproves Clifford. Pascal has a
different view on belief formation where he argues that reasons for believing and failing to believe in
God are indecisive. The three philosophers have varied views on how beliefs are formed. This essay
discusses the reasons why Clifford made the above conclusion, the position taken by James in his
opposition and how the argument relates to Pascal s Wager.
In Clifford s first section of his essay, he narrates two stories as an illustration of how beliefs are
arrived at. His first story is that of the ship owner who sends an immigration ship out to sea. The ship
owner had a dream where he saw the ship sink and as a result, doubts whether the ship is fit to sail
safely in the sea. Instead of having the doubts cleared through asking an expert to do thorough
investigation; an expensive and time consuming exercise, he goes ahead to recommend that the ship
goes out to

Last Mile Health Research Paper
Africa is usually thought of a poor continent. A continent pitted by famine, droughts, floods, and
sickness. The last Mile Health charity is trying to help the outlook of health in Africa. They are trying
to get health care to the rural communities of West Africa, because of several reasons since health was
beginning to be worse by the years in the early 2000 s. At the end of the civil war in Liberia there were
only fifty doctors to treat the ill. If you lived in city areas you could have lived. If you lived in rural
areas you would have died needlessly, from easy to fix situations. Last Mile Health helps because they
want to achieve a vision of a healthy work for everyone, everywhere, everyday. They work with

How Did Paul Revere Influenced The American Revolution
Paul Revere
Paul Revere was a jack of all trades. He was a Silversmith, early industrialist, and a patriot In the
American Revolution. He is best known for his mid night ride before The Battle of Lexington. During
the ride he said The British are coming one if by land and two if by sea . Paul was one of the most
important people in the 13 Colonies at that time. He played one of the biggest parts in the american
revolution.
Paul Revere was born on the Boston, Massachusetts. He was born on January 1, 1735 with the
calendar we use today. Back in the day when he was born they used a different type of calendar. By
the old calendar system he was born on December 21, 1734. His father was a french man that moved
to the colonies when he was 13 years old. The woman he married was Deborah Hitchborn her family

Essay The Sputnik Launch
The world has experienced very many huge moments, such big moments in which sometimes you don
t think it s really happening. October 4, 1957, was one of those days. Because that was the day the
world changed forever and there was no turning back. It was the day of the Sputnik launch. Sputnik
was a Soviet satellite that orbited in the earth s rotation 500 miles above the earth and traveling at
about 18,000 mph. It took approximately 98 minutes for it to rotate the earth which meant it passed
the United States seven times a day. It looked like it was from a whole another world or out of a movie
or a fantasy story. It consisted of a ball with four stem like structures coming out and pointing down at
the ground. The ball like structure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The launch of the Sputnik had such a big impact on America because America thought of themselves
as the world s technological leaders (Richerme 35). Also the Soviets, after all, were not supposed to be
good at technology (DeGroot 3). This scared America and brought them into a big crisis or as some
call a race. This race was known as the space race and it was a very long and twisted path that it bared
on its shoulders. Now that after America and the Soviet Union where both partaking in the space race
they both had suspicions about each other. Eisenhower, on the other hand, saw satellites as pointless
unless they provided something useful back on Earth (DeGroot 5). A spy satellite, on the other hand,
could provide accurate pictures of Soviet military capabilities, thus enabling the United States to
spend its defense budget wisely, without wasting huge sums on challenging phantom forces (DeGroot
5). America was worried about the Soviets spying on America because of security issues so America
wanted to pursue on building themselves a satellite to provide accurate pictures of Soviet military
capabilities (DeGroot 5). The only problem was that Flying over another nation s territory without
permission was, however, illegal under international law. What was not clear was whether the law
applied to satellites (DeGroot 5). America and the Soviets were in a battle to see which world power
could be the best. The

The Football Of High School
Football in high school took most of my time. It made me put family and friend s aside because it was
a sport I committed myself to every day. I knew I was not going to be playing at the pro or college
level yet I wanted to have a good high school team; unfortunately that didn t happen. My junior year,
we won two games and lost the rest. During my senior year we won four games and lost the rest, but
that was two more games won than the previous year. Sometimes I felt like all that work and
commitment was not worth it. During the last home game, however my team and I did something
outrageous. We proved to all those newspapers, opposing teams, and loyal and un loyal fans that with
hard work and team work, we were able to achieve great things. I was excited but also sad for my last
home game. The team geared up and headed down Rattle Snake Hill, a hill we go down every home
game to get to the field. Before the game we had a ceremony to recognize all the seniors because it
was going to be our last home game. I paid attention to half of the ceremony while the other half
focused on the other team and how they were twice our size and twice as many players. A lot of us had
no hope in winning this game, but we wanted to have fun on our last home game. We were in the
huddle, ready to go out to kick off. The ball was kicked, and the ball headed towards me. I caught the
ball, ran the ball in a few yards, and I gave my team good field position. The opposing team were fast

Father Diego Dur An Advocate For The Aztecs Of The Aztec...
Father Diego Durán was a Dominican priest in Mexico after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec
Empire. He was born in Selville, Spain in 1537 but moved to New Spain as a child. He originally
lived in Texcoco but eventually moved to Mexico City and became a priest in 1556. He became fluent
in the native language Nahuatl and gained the inhabitants trust with his understanding nature and
respect for their culture. He used his experiences and access to first hand knowledge to write three
books, The Ancient Calendar, The History of the Indies of New Spain, and The Book of Gods and
Rites, collectively known as the Durán Codex.
Durán was an advocate for the Aztecs living in New Spain, but he was still a Catholic priest who saw
everything he did through the lense of potential conversion. During his extensive study of the local
culture he came to see the parallels between his faith and indigenous religion as evidence of
Abrahamic religion having been brought to the New World and corrupted by the Devil. The only way,
according to Durán, to truly root out the satanic practices of the Mesoamerican religions was to
understand them. He wrote the Durán Codex to both help that missionary work and satisfy his own
curiosity.
The Book of Gods and Rites was written from 1574 to 1576. Fifty years before that, Hernan Cortez
had taken over the Aztec Empire and toppled it s capital city Tenochtitlan. After the Spanish took over
most of South and Mesoamerica, the remaining people who hadn t been

Def Leppard Influence On History
Def Leppard
Def Leppard was a music band of the 20th century, that brought heavy metal music to people all
around the world. It all started when five kids came together wanting to play music. Then went on to
be the most well known bands in history. Def Leppard has become one of the best bands of the 20th
century.
Def Leppard was a band that had five kids interested in music in many ways. For example, Phillip
Kenneth became interested when he got his first guitar when he was 16. Also, Rick Allen was 11 years
old when his parents got him his first drum set (Jeffery, 2011). When the band began to play at a
younger age, it inspired them to play for a career. This inspired them to love playing music which lead

How Is Imagery Used In The Sniper
The short story, The Sniper, takes place in Dublin, Ireland, in 1922, during the Irish Civil War. On the
rooftops, lay two snipers who are in the middle of a shootout, after dusk. The main character of focus,
a Republican sniper, is pursued throughout the whole story. Faced with numerous challenges, he
battles unbearable pain, atop the impossible situation placed before him. At certain times, he uses his
utter cleverness to outsmart the free state sniper. Eventually, he figures out that the man he shot was
his brother. Liam O Flaherty uses strong sensory and imagery details, inner thinking, and revealing
actions to support and enhance the short story, The Sniper.

The long June twilight faded into night. Dublin lay enveloped in darkness but for the dim light of the
moon that shone through fleecy clouds, casting a pale light as of approaching dawn over the streets
and the dark waters of the Liffey... Here and there through the city, machine guns and rifles broke the
silence of the night, spasmodically, like dogs barking on lone farms. Liam O Flaherty starts the story
off with a strong sense of detail, and it immediately emerges the reader into the story and makes them
envision being in Dublin at the time of the war. Halfway throughout the story, the sniper gets shot. The
author uses sensory details to create an image that makes the reader envision the actual pain the
character is battling against. Then taking out his field dressing, he ripped open the packet with his
knife. He broke the neck of the iodine bottle and let the bitter fluid drip into the wound. A paroxysm of
pain swept through him. He placed the cotton wadding over the wound and wrapped the dressing over
it. He tied the ends with his teeth. When the author emerges the reader into the story, it makes them
able to relate to the agony the sniper is in, which contributes back to the mood.

The story is about a ski instructor named Miranda who is having several issues with her new boss,
Hank because he has done and said many things over the course of the time that he has been there to
show that he may be sexist. This scenario has a lot to do with perception. Perception is defined as a
process by which individuals organize and interpret their sensory impressions in order to give
meaning to their environment (Robbins Judge, 166). This paper will discuss what perception is and
how much of an impact in can have in the work place.

Robbins and Judge claim that consensus happens if everyone who faces a similar situation responds in
the same way. (168). Miranda responds the same way after was told by Nancy s son that the people at
the front desk told him that she was not working that weekend I thought you weren t here today; that s
what the people at the front desk told me. (Cohen, Fink, Gadon, Willits, Josefowitz, 2013), and
another customer was told the same thing by the front desk people when she asked for Miranda the
following weekend, But the following weekend, another customer approached Miranda expressing
surprise that she was on the slope because the front desk has said that she had not shown up. (Cohen,
Fink, Gadon, Willits, Josefowit z, 2013). Miranda stayed optimistic thinking it was a mistake by her
boss. Consistency is when an observer looks for consistency in a person s actions. Does the person
respond the same way overtime? (Robbins Judge, 168). Hank is looking for consistency in his
employees as he wants the female employees to teach children while the male employees teach adults.

Cricket Exothermic Essay
Elias Kachadoorian
Metabolic Rate of Crickets
Introduction:
The Acheta domesticus, house cricket, has an average metabolic rate of 36.19 (Kolluru, Chappell, and
Zuk 2004). The cricket is an ectothermic organism which means that it has no ability to create heat
inside its own body and must rely on outside sources. (Kolluru, Chappell, and Zuk 2004). An
endotherm by contrast is an organism with the ability to maintain homeostasis including temperature
without the need of outside sources. Warm blooded endotherms, such as humans and most mammals,
maintain a constant body temperature independent of the environment. Birds, and some fish also
classify as endothermic organisms. Endotherms have methods of controlling their internal
temperatures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, a drop in temperature will decrease the rate of metabolism. This is supported by the graphs
shown above. The ice temperature decreased metabolic rate when compared to the rate at room
temperature. The individual sets of data received by the individual experiment varied among each
other, but overall supported the hypothesis and achieved similar results.

The Harmful Effects Of The Body
Typically when one thinks about chemicals, cleaning products come to mind, but when poison is
added to the equation the mind jumps to more dangerous items such as cyanide or acids. What is
rarely thought of is plastic, food, or even water. Many people are unaware of harmful chemicals that
are in everyday items. It is important to be aware of what enters the body because the side effects can
be harmful and in some cases deadly. Certain chemicals are not only harmful to the current generation,
but also to future ones. Avoidance is only possible with knowledge of the dangers chemicals found in
common goods present. Every single day people use, ingest or come in contact with chemicals that
they are not even aware of. Many everyday items have harmful chemicals in them that people did not
even think was possible. A large number of everyday items such as canned goods, plastic, water,
cooking ware, clothing, and even receipts can contain harmful substances. These substances are
damaging and can be fatal (Antoniades, 2013). There are also a great number of foods that are
genetically modified. Some of these foods may not be expected to be genetically modified including
corn, zucchini, yellow squash, and papayas. Most processed foods contain a chemical called
Monosodium Glutamate(MSG), but studies have revealed that MSG is the least of our problems right
now. Almost all processed foods have additives, like food dye, and have been known to cause extreme
sickness. It has been said

The Future Of Brain Implants
The Future of Brain Implants
Current and future technology
Over the last twenty years, scientists have been developing brain implants to help people suffering
from Alzheimer s disease, dementia, stroke and/or brain injuries to restore their ability to create long
term memories. Current technology is becoming more invasive both in terms of interconnections
within the physical body and our mental dependence. According to a researcher Ellen M. McGee,
Long Island University, The future development of brain implants will give us the ability to
manipulate external reality, the physical world, and ourselves. With today s technologies, the line
between living organisms and machines is getting very blurry. This issue could potentially affect ...

In 2013, at Duke University School of Medicine, scientists implanted brain chips into rats barrel
cortex to teach them see infrared light that they normally cannot see. Neuroscientist Miguel Nicolelis
and Eric Thomson made an experiment where they implanted four clusters of sensors into the barrel
cortexes of the rats that were responsible for their senses. Those clusters converted infrared light into
an electrical signal that stimulated rats to go to one of the four feeding stations. Rats would go the
feeding station where the infrared light was on and press the button on the feeding station to receive
the reward. In an older, single sensor version of the experiment, it took the rats one month to adapt.
With four sensors, it took them just three days (Coghlan). What interesting was that rats original
senses stayed the same without changes, plus they learned to use their new sense of seeing infrared
light. Later, scientists want to teach rats see the ultraviolet light, microwaves, radio waves, and X rays.
A reporter for New Scientist Andy Coghlan stated, It seems that nature

Have You Ever Run Into Someone Who Believes In A Silly
Have you ever run into someone who believes in a silly dating myth? Do you yourself have a few
misconceptions of the online dating world? Maybe you want to set the record straight, or maybe you
re just interested to know what most people believe of online dating? Sit back and relax as we uncover
the three most popular online dating myths, and stop them in their tracks! Online Dating Myth #1:
People Who Use The Internet To Date Are Losers Who Can t Get a Real Date This is one of the most
common and disgusting myths about online dating. How can anyone even think that, after all? It s
simply not true! There are millions and millions of average, everyday people who, for one reason or
another, aren t with anyone. They re looking ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You simply can t argue with those statistics! And don t you think, if the entire online dating industry
was a scam, someone would be plastering it everywhere? Online Dating Myth #3: It s Too Expensive
to Date Online You ll hear people whine all the time about how the best websites charge, and how you
don t feel that you should pay just to connect with other singles... well, you do have to pay for a
membership. And then you basically get access to connect with millions of other single users! Finding
a traditional date costs, too, you know. Going to a bar will cost you a drink, going on a blind date will
cost you a meal, and even just meeting someone at a completely random place costs you some amount
of money. Don t be fooled into thinking it s free! Plus, let s say you go on two dates with one person.
That s $40 a meal, $80 for both dates, plus $10 in gas for both dates, $20 for a movie for the first date,
$35 $50 for the second date at the mall, the beach, an amusement park... you re looking at $150, at the
very least, for just two dates! Being able to connect and get to know hundreds of new people is worth
a little bit of your money and the fact that you have to pay often wards off scammers who just want to
take your money, and fake profiles. So, What Have We Learned? If you take nothing else away from
this, remember: Everyday, average people use dating sites not just desperate losers. Online dating is
very safe,

India Is A South Asian Country Where People Hold Various...
India is a South Asian country where people hold various castes and religions. After India gained
independence, the Constitution of India listed backward castes of the people as Scheduled Castes (SC)
and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The Constitution laid down 15% and 7.5% of vacancies to government
aided educational institutes and for jobs in the government/public sector, as reserved quota for the
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates respectively for a period of five years, after which
the situation was to be reviewed. Reservation, in Indian law is a form of affirmative action whereby a
percentage of seats are reserved in the public sector units, union and state civil services, union and
state government departments and in all public and private educational institutions, except in the
religious or linguistic minority educational institutions, for the socially and educationally backward
communities and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. The common refrain tends to be that less qualified
people from backward castes in the field of education and employment get preferential treatment
because of caste based reservations. My argument is that allocating reservation quotas on the basis of
castes is a form of discrimination which is contrary to the right to equality. Reservations on the basis
of caste should be reformed as these reservations create discrimination, and the people of the upper
castes who truly deserve the opportunity lose it because the reservation is already

The Theme Of Inequality In A Connecticut Yankee In King...
In a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur s court, Mark Twain sets the plot of the story in the 19th
century in Connecticut. After Hank Morgan is struck by a crowbar, he wakes up 13 centuries that are
in the past. In the event, a night from the court of King Arthur takes him prisoner as King Arthur
orders his execution. Hank becomes the prime minister to the king by escaping execution through
predicting that an eclipse will block the sun if he is executed (Lupack 162). Throughout this story, the
theme of inequality is evident especially since social inequality and injustice is highlighted throughout
the narrative. In one instance, Hank visits a village which is full of peasants who are dressed
wretchedly. There is a clear disparity between the life in the royal court and that which is lived by
peasants in the field.
Discussion
The theme of inequality starts to develop in the first chapter where the peasants are depicted to be
living in conditions, which are regarded to be wretched. These peasants only have scant clothing and
the children are required by law to walk bare without any garments. Furthermore, the peasants live in
filthy spaces, and they eat poor food. Iron collars are put on the peasant as an indication of slavery
which is rampant among the common population (Hasty 22). The deplorable condition of the peasants
sharply contradicts the life of the knights and the inhabitants of the royal court. In the royal court,
there is a parade of knights residing in the

The Corporation s Management Role
The corporation s management role is to increase the firm s value to its stockholders. Corporate
finance handles the financial issues such as achieving the firm s goal, how to raise, manage, and invest
its monies. Corporate management has become sensitive to the creation of value for businesses due to
the shifting from tangible assets to intangible assets. Although the intangible factors that drive value
creation differ by firms, some of the major categories include technology, innovation, and employee
and customer relations. Creating value helps customers by selling products and services. Value is
when a business generates revenue that surpasses expenses. Understanding what creates value will
help managers focus capital and talent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cash flow projections predict the working capital needs for future operations. Working capital is
determined by current liabilities subtracted by current assets. This is established by the cash coming in
and out of operations. Revenue from a firm s services will be the main source of projected cash
inflows from operations. Cash flow enables a business to use capital budgeting methods to decide the
feasibility of the capital assets that may need to support future activities. The cash flow projection
helps one to decide their future financing needs and ability to meet there long term debt obligations.
Projected earnings and cash flow numbers aren t always correct but give management an idea of what
could be expected from a project or investment. In Deuteronomy 8:12 19 (New Living Translation),
people are reminded that their abundance comes from God. God made His people lives comfortable.
He provided fertile land for them to use; God also multiplied their gold, silver, and livestock. If an
entire community prospered there would be very little concern for charity. The people would have
more than enough for everyone. Christians should always want to acknowledge God as their provider.

Mcdonald s Arguments Against Fluoridation Of Water
Fluoride has been shown to be toxic and affects the brain and kidney when ingested. Research lasting
one year has demonstrated that a very small quanitity of fluride added to water was suffiecient to
cause changes to the kidney and brain could lead to Alzheimer s. Fluoride allows aluminium a heavy
metal to cross the blood brain barrier which can therefore cause this sickness associated with this
element. Viewpoints Against The dose of fluoride is different for every person as it cannot be
regulated, therefore everybody receives different amounts In phrmcotherapy it is not general practice
to fluoridate water as this is not ethical, this is because fluoridation should be a much more
individualized in regards to the dosage as it can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because according to the department of health, Rnzcgp this process is not able to be regulated
and the dosage is dependent on the person s circumstances i.e age which can result in health problems.
When too large a dose is absorbed into the system according to the The United Nation news it can
cause health issues relating to skeletal and dental fluorosis. The compound is also shown to affect the
brain and kidney negatively. Fluoridation is a system by which the town or country is taking
responsibility for its people. The proposed action is not to fluoridate teeth by adding fluoride to the
entire water supply which will affect every person s entire body with fluoride, but to instead educate
about the benefits of using toothpaste which people already commonly use. People can suffer adverse
effects because the government would further their own goal. There is no controversy about the people
and side effect because I propose not fluoridating. So the evidence is that there will be 100% no risk to
getting the side effects, and yet there is no limitation of restricting tooth hygiene and maintaining tooth
health through personal care. The evidence of science is that not using a material eliminates the
potential for side effects. Personally I find that instead of treating drinking water we should be treating
personal care products such as tooth paste which is more effective action. Therefore there is no risk of
affecting the entire population in the hands of just a

Comparing Confucius And Siddhartha Gautama
Whether rich or poor, leaders have the power to change the world as long as they have the passion to
do so. Confucius and Siddhartha Gautama were both influential guiders whose ideas contrasted and
overlapped. They transformed and modified the way certain people live and prospect things.
Confucius s train of thoughts were necessary to end the boundless hostility and warfare around him,
while the Buddha sought enlightenment and the elimination of suffering.
Confucius s ideology included the belief that people behave exceptionally because it s in their spirit to
do so. Incredibly, with the cruel, bloody wars surrounding him, he was able to have this set of mind.
He desperately looked for ways to bring structure to deal with those devastating times. Education and
intelligence bring people together and he believed that everyone should have the opportunity to learn.
From then on, a person s position in the social hierarchy hinged on their education, rather than their
birth. Being raised in a violent society, he sought peace and enlightenment. His empowering thoughts
punched brutal wars right out of the way. While Confucius was raised in struggling times, the Buddha
had a great life ahead of him as someone not only at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

subcontinent, Buddhism is one of the largest practices in the world today. The Buddha s teachings
have spread drastically from one end of the world to the other. While Buddhism focuses on the
concept of suffering, Confucianism explores ways to obtain social harmony. According to Confucius,
humanity is far from evil; however, Siddhartha Gautama implied that life is full of suffering. The caste

Danville Feasibility Study
AGE FRIENDLY DANVILLE: WALKABILITY Thanks to the recent beautification project that was
completed over a year ago, Danville has put a lot of thought, in conjunction with money, making their
town a more alluring place to live. With its maintained streetscapes, both pedestrian and bicycle
friendly, as bicyclists have their own lanes throughout Danville, the town has re designed walkways
and bridges, as well as included shading and benches while providing additional trail linkage between
neighborhoods, thus making walking more accessible throughout its town. In addition to more traffic
lights, kiosks, signage, and closing gaps in the sidewalk system, the planning commission continues to
improve the downtown for it s in the midst of converting the lighting system with LED (light emitting
diode) in an effort to provide suitable lighting while keeping current with standard codes. The hope is
that by making Danville a pedestrian and bicycle friendly town, it will become an expanded active
community, encouraging exercise, and at the same time, reducing congestion. The curb cuts are quite
visible, as they are textured, also the sidewalks aren t producing any obstructions. They are wide
enough for a conversation to be had between two friends, which is seen on any ... Show more content

Immigration Essay
My thoughts on Immigration Submitted by: Dhara Shah The major reason people emigrate from their
homelands is better future aspects such as better financial stability, better working hours and better
living standards. Despite all these opportunities, there are many issues that immigrants face while
trying to obtain the equality in their status quo. Some of these issues are different visa levels, job
insecurities, racial discrimination, language problems and cultural barriers that each and every
immigrant has to cope up with. Initially, all immigrants face cultural clashes and have difficulty in
communication since English is not their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hence, many immigrants land up doing menial tasks and highly underpaid jobs at gas stations,
provision stores, motels, bakeries, cleaning beauty salons or waiting upon tables in restaurants. You
see huge crowds of people every morning at places like Home Depots where people come with only
one hope work... They are ready to do any job for a meager amount of money. With the economic
recession looming at large, they prefer to have some income rather than go home with empty hands
and starved stomachs. And for illegal immigrants, the situation is even worse. They cannot legally
sign a lease or rent an apartment, cannot have an access to bank accounts and are not eligible to get
any kind of insurance. Even after getting an underpaid job, there is no guarantee that they would be
paid for their work done because if the employer does not pay them, what can they do?? They cannot
report the employer to the police as without any documents, they have no basis to fight for their rights.
They constantly live in the fear of getting deported to their home country. Many a times, they do not
approach a doctor for diagnosing their illness only because they are afraid that they might not be
treated because there are no official records in the US health department; not to mention that they
cannot afford the exorbitant fees of the doctors. These immigrants can never visit their home country

Idle No More Movement Analysis
Introduction Idle No More is a grassroots movement. Idle No More was sparked by a group of from
Saskatoon who started talking online about the passing of Bill C 45 (Talaga, 2012). The Idle No More
movement officially started by a group of native and non native women on November 10, 2012
(Talaga, 2012). Idle No More is a responsibility a responsibility to live up to the sacrifices of our
ancestors, to the duty we have as guardians of the earth, and to the expectations that our children and
grandchildren have of use to protect them (Palmater, 2015 p. 79). The heart of the frustration of Idle
No More for Indigenous people are issues that are decades old (Talaga, 2012). Idle No More is a
movement against the unilateral actions by the Harper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first limitation to my analysis is I was not at any of the protests that took place when Idle No
More was happening in the end of 2012 and into 2013. I feel if I had of been able to be part of a
protest when Idle No More was happening this would have also made my paper stronger. The second
limitation to my analysis is I was unable to talk to any Indigenous people who were part of the Idle No
More movement when the movement began. If I would have been able to talk to someone who was
part of the protest this would have had made my paper I stronger. The third limitation is there was
many causes as to why Idle No More even happened in the first place. The fourth limitation of my
analysis is Idle No More was sparked by the potential passing of Bill C 45, I discussed what Bill C 45
is and how the passing of this bill would affect Indigenous people on their reserves. I did not discuss
that fact that Bill C 45 was passed and how the passing of Bill C 45 affected Indigenous people since
the passing of the bill. The fourth limitation to my analysis is there were many other issues that
Indigenous people were facing on their reserves that were not being address before the Idle No More
movement was sparked. I did not discuss the many issues that Indigenous people are upset about aside
from the passing of Bill C 45 that led to Idle No More. The fifth limitation was how complex the Idle
No More movement is. There was so much happening during Idle No More that it would be
impossible to cover it all in this paper with in the page limit. The sixth limitation to my paper is that
much of the information on the Idle No More movement was newspaper articles. This made it hard to
find academic articles on Idle No More which made it harder to write the paper. The seventh limitation
is how much the information overlap in all the research I did. Much of the research was the same
which made it hard to write the paper. The

  • 2. Analysis Of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower Although depression may seem like an endless burden to bear, those suffering from the mental illness need to hold on to realize that they are not alone, and that depression does end. Through the use of a range of film techniques employed throughout the final scene of the film, Stephen Chbosky successfully weaves this idea into the closing sequence of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The comedy drama coming of age film reflects on the trials and tribulations of adolescent life, as we join protagonist Charlie on his journey of development. As Charle is introduced as a socially awkward wallflower suffering severely from depression, the film techniques used during the ending scene show how Charlie has found his place in the world with friends ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dubbed by Sam as the Tunnel Song she loves to listen to while she cruises through the night, the song Heroes by David Bowie further supports Chbosky s success in establishing a sense of hope for the viewer. Charlie s non diegetic commentary stating this one moment when you know you re not a sad story. You are alive. followed by the song s lyrics we can be heroes, just for one day, support each other in emphasizing the idea of having those moments where you feel like nothing else matters, and you can feel like you re a hero, just like how Charlie and his friends are feeling on top of the world. The lyrics of the diegetic song which state though nothing, will keep us together/we can steal time, just for one day, reflect on Charlie and Sam s relationship. They realize that they will not be able to maintain a relationship since Sam lives away from Charlie to go to college, but despite this, they have learned to enjoy the little time they have together and make the most of it. Chbosky s use of diegetic music once again perfectly serve its purpose of creating a sense of hope for the viewer, and illustrating the newfound lessons that the viewer has learned with Charlie alongside his quest for maturity. He teaches the viewer that depression will not always be continual darkness there will be moments where you ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everything begins when I attempted this celebrated surely understood Mexican dish called Birria. My goodness did I begin to look all starry eyed at this fiery delicious stew meat that I lean toward eating this than any other dish. Be that as it may, mind you, seafood was my most loved sustenance yet Birria has prevailed upon my heart any fish dish. I can simply recall the best and absolute best day ever that I had when I was nine years of age. On August seventh, 2007 my ninth birthday celebration is the thing that has turned this exact day into my most memorable memory. The day preceding my birthday, August sixth, I was pressing my gear quickly around 6 o clock pm since I had a flight to take with my folks for my birthday surprise. I was so energized and anxious to know where me and my family would go. I kept running towards my father s Nissan auto and sat in the back with my younger sibling clasping her safety belt on her. • 5. Essay On Anti Semitism In America Earlier students of American Jewish life minimized the presence of anti Semitism in the United States, which they viewed as a late and alien phenomenon on the American scene arising in the late 19th century. More recently, scholars have asserted that no period in American Jewish history was free of anti Semitism. The debate continues about the significance of anti Semitism in different periods of American history. Anti Semitism has always been less prevalent in the United States than in Europe. The first governmental incident of anti Jewish sentiment was recorded during the American Civil War. The United States was restrictive towards Jewish immigration during the 1920s by enacting with the Johnson Reed Act blocking Jewish students from attending Harvard University. One way the United States was restrictive towards Jewish immigration was the Johnson Reed Act. The Immigration Act of 1924 limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States through a national origins quota. The Quota provided immigrations visas to two percent of the total number of people of each nationally in the United States as the 1890 national census. It completely excluded immigrants from Asia. • 6. Personification In Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening Robert Frost s poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, was written in 1922 then later published in 1923. In the poem, the speaker expresses his feelings and thoughts of the woods during the darkest night of the year. The speaker and his horse makes a random stop in a certain area of the woods. The speaker seemed very interested in the scenery of that part of the woods. Although the speaker wants to stay, he has to keep his promise and continue on. Frost uses personification, imagery, and alliteration to express the feelings and moods from the snowy night in the woods. Frost uses personification to convey how worried the horse is and to describe the environment of that part of the woods. My little horse must think it queer, (line #) ... In this line the O and S sound is being repeated. The reader was able to understand how this line was meant for what the speaker heard during his stop. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, in line 13 the D sound is being repeated to emphasize the scenery of the woods. By using the words dark and deep the reader is able to understand the big idea of how the woods must have looked through the speaker s eyes. Frost was able to grab the reader s attention to each subject from his use of alliteration throughout the poem. Frost s use of alliteration, personification, and imagery definitely conveyed the speaker s attitude towards the woods. The reader believes Frost wrote about the woods to show how peaceful and calming it is in an isolated place such as the woods. • 9. The Ethics Of Belief By Clifford. Pascal Why it is wrong to Believe Anything upon Insufficient Evidence Name Institution Introduction The fact that one can believe in something or a statement is based on, among other factors, the available evidence. A range of philosophers have written widely on this topic. Clifford in his Influential essay The Ethics of Belief defends the contention that it is always wrong for any human being to believe anything if there is insufficient evidence. He uses two stories to illustrate wrong ways through which people arrive at beliefs. William James, however, disapproves Clifford. Pascal has a different view on belief formation where he argues that reasons for believing and failing to believe in God are indecisive. The three philosophers have varied views on how beliefs are formed. This essay discusses the reasons why Clifford made the above conclusion, the position taken by James in his opposition and how the argument relates to Pascal s Wager. In Clifford s first section of his essay, he narrates two stories as an illustration of how beliefs are arrived at. His first story is that of the ship owner who sends an immigration ship out to sea. The ship owner had a dream where he saw the ship sink and as a result, doubts whether the ship is fit to sail safely in the sea. Instead of having the doubts cleared through asking an expert to do thorough investigation; an expensive and time consuming exercise, he goes ahead to recommend that the ship goes out to ... Because that was the day the world changed forever and there was no turning back. It was the day of the Sputnik launch. Sputnik was a Soviet satellite that orbited in the earth s rotation 500 miles above the earth and traveling at about 18,000 mph. It took approximately 98 minutes for it to rotate the earth which meant it passed the United States seven times a day. The launch of the Sputnik had such a big impact on America because America thought of themselves as the world s technological leaders (Richerme 35). Also the Soviets, after all, were not supposed to be good at technology (DeGroot 3). This scared America and brought them into a big crisis or as some call a race. This race was known as the space race and it was a very long and twisted path that it bared on its shoulders. Now that after America and the Soviet Union where both partaking in the space race they both had suspicions about each other. Eisenhower, on the other hand, saw satellites as pointless unless they provided something useful back on Earth (DeGroot 5). A spy satellite, on the other hand, could provide accurate pictures of Soviet military capabilities, thus enabling the United States to spend its defense budget wisely, without wasting huge sums on challenging phantom forces (DeGroot 5). America was worried about the Soviets spying on America because of security issues so America wanted to pursue on building themselves a satellite to provide accurate pictures of Soviet military capabilities (DeGroot 5). The only problem was that Flying over another nation s territory without permission was, however, illegal under international law. What was not clear was whether the law applied to satellites (DeGroot 5). America and the Soviets were in a battle to see which world power could be the best. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I knew I was not going to be playing at the pro or college level yet I wanted to have a good high school team; unfortunately that didn t happen. My junior year, we won two games and lost the rest. During my senior year we won four games and lost the rest, but that was two more games won than the previous year. Sometimes I felt like all that work and commitment was not worth it. During the last home game, however my team and I did something outrageous. We proved to all those newspapers, opposing teams, and loyal and un loyal fans that with hard work and team work, we were able to achieve great things. I was excited but also sad for my last home game. The team geared up and headed down Rattle Snake Hill, a hill we go down every home game to get to the field. Before the game we had a ceremony to recognize all the seniors because it was going to be our last home game. I paid attention to half of the ceremony while the other half focused on the other team and how they were twice our size and twice as many players. A lot of us had no hope in winning this game, but we wanted to have fun on our last home game. We were in the huddle, ready to go out to kick off. The ball was kicked, and the ball headed towards me. He was born in Selville, Spain in 1537 but moved to New Spain as a child. He originally lived in Texcoco but eventually moved to Mexico City and became a priest in 1556. He became fluent in the native language Nahuatl and gained the inhabitants trust with his understanding nature and respect for their culture. He used his experiences and access to first hand knowledge to write three books, The Ancient Calendar, The History of the Indies of New Spain, and The Book of Gods and Rites, collectively known as the Durán Codex. Durán was an advocate for the Aztecs living in New Spain, but he was still a Catholic priest who saw everything he did through the lense of potential conversion. During his extensive study of the local culture he came to see the parallels between his faith and indigenous religion as evidence of Abrahamic religion having been brought to the New World and corrupted by the Devil. The only way, according to Durán, to truly root out the satanic practices of the Mesoamerican religions was to understand them. He wrote the Durán Codex to both help that missionary work and satisfy his own curiosity. The Book of Gods and Rites was written from 1574 to 1576. Cricket Exothermic Essay Elias Kachadoorian Metabolic Rate of Crickets Introduction: The Acheta domesticus, house cricket, has an average metabolic rate of 36.19 (Kolluru, Chappell, and Zuk 2004). An endotherm by contrast is an organism with the ability to maintain homeostasis including temperature without the need of outside sources. After India gained independence, the Constitution of India listed backward castes of the people as Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The Constitution laid down 15% and 7.5% of vacancies to government aided educational institutes and for jobs in the government/public sector, as reserved quota for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes candidates respectively for a period of five years, after which the situation was to be reviewed. Reservation, in Indian law is a form of affirmative action whereby a percentage of seats are reserved in the public sector units, union and state civil services, union and state government departments and in all public and private educational institutions, except in the religious or linguistic minority educational institutions, for the socially and educationally backward communities and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. The common refrain tends to be that less qualified people from backward castes in the field of education and employment get preferential treatment because of caste based reservations. My argument is that allocating reservation quotas on the basis of castes is a form of discrimination which is contrary to the right to equality. After Hank Morgan is struck by a crowbar, he wakes up 13 centuries that are in the past. In the event, a night from the court of King Arthur takes him prisoner as King Arthur orders his execution. Hank becomes the prime minister to the king by escaping execution through predicting that an eclipse will block the sun if he is executed (Lupack 162). In one instance, Hank visits a village which is full of peasants who are dressed wretchedly. There is a clear disparity between the life in the royal court and that which is lived by peasants in the field. Discussion The theme of inequality starts to develop in the first chapter where the peasants are depicted to be living in conditions, which are regarded to be wretched. These peasants only have scant clothing and the children are required by law to walk bare without any garments. Furthermore, the peasants live in filthy spaces, and they eat poor food. Iron collars are put on the peasant as an indication of slavery which is rampant among the common population (Hasty 22). You see huge crowds of people every morning at places like Home Depots where people come with only one hope work... They are ready to do any job for a meager amount of money. With the economic recession looming at large, they prefer to have some income rather than go home with empty hands and starved stomachs. And for illegal immigrants, the situation is even worse. They cannot legally sign a lease or rent an apartment, cannot have an access to bank accounts and are not eligible to get any kind of insurance. Even after getting an underpaid job, there is no guarantee that they would be paid for their work done because if the employer does not pay them, what can they do?? They cannot report the employer to the police as without any documents, they have no basis to fight for their rights. They constantly live in the fear of getting deported to their home country. Many a times, they do not approach a doctor for diagnosing their illness only because they are afraid that they might not be treated because there are no official records in the US health department; not to mention that they cannot afford the exorbitant fees of the doctors. • 32. Idle No More Movement Analysis Introduction Idle No More is a grassroots movement. Idle No More was sparked by a group of from Saskatoon who started talking online about the passing of Bill C 45 (Talaga, 2012). I feel if I had of been able to be part of a protest when Idle No More was happening this would have also made my paper stronger. The second limitation to my analysis is I was unable to talk to any Indigenous people who were part of the Idle No More movement when the movement began. If I would have been able to talk to someone who was part of the protest this would have had made my paper I stronger. The third limitation is there was many causes as to why Idle No More even happened in the first place. The fourth limitation of my analysis is Idle No More was sparked by the potential passing of Bill C 45, I discussed what Bill C 45 is and how the passing of this bill would affect Indigenous people on their reserves. I did not discuss that fact that Bill C 45 was passed and how the passing of Bill C 45 affected Indigenous people since the passing of the bill. The fourth limitation to my analysis is there were many other issues that Indigenous people were facing on their reserves that were not being address before the Idle No More movement was sparked. I did not discuss the many issues that Indigenous people are upset about aside from the passing of Bill C 45 that led to Idle No More. The fifth limitation was how complex the Idle No More movement is. There was so much happening during Idle No More that it would be impossible to cover it all in this paper with in the page limit. The sixth limitation to my paper is that much of the information on the Idle No More movement was newspaper articles. This made it hard to find academic articles on Idle No More which made it harder to write the paper. The seventh limitation is how much the information overlap in all the research I did. Much of the research was the same which made it hard to write the paper. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
