The document provides a brief history of how the Bible came to be translated into English. It discusses the origins and composition of both the Old Testament and New Testament. It then covers the history of the Bible after the apostles, including why it was banned and the reasons for the King James Version translation. The document outlines the various authors of the Bible books and rules for carefully transcribing scripture. It also mentions apocryphal books and early gnostic gospels that were not included in the biblical canon.
One will discover the King's request, his rage, and his reward.
We have a contrast: the king’s sorcerers; the king's suspicions and the king's severity. Then there is the Wise men's stalling, their sentence and their salvation.
The Bible documents God's interactions with humanity over history. It includes historical accounts, laws, poetry, prophecy, and more, capturing the full breadth of human experience from creation to exile to restoration. The Old Testament specifically establishes the Law through Moses and the early history of Israel, then documents the kingdom period and exile through writings and the prophets, consistently revealing God's character.
The document discusses angels and demons. It notes that angels are mentioned 203 times in scripture and describes some of their roles like worshipping God, guarding sacred places, and bringing messages from God. It also discusses fallen angels who had sexual relations with human women, producing the Nephilim. These fallen angels are now demons. Demons are led by Satan, who seeks to undermine God's authority and rob humans of life through deception, false teachings, and possession. Christians are called to resist demons through submitting to God and standing firm in their faith.
The document discusses how the gospel message is meant to offend those who are prideful and stubborn. It provides biblical examples of when the early Christians preached tough messages that offended and cut people to the heart, making them question their actions. The gospel exposes our selfishness and faults to purify and transform us. Though the truth offends some, Christians must continue preaching it regardless, as it also saves and enlightens others.
This document provides an overview of mission in the Old Testament, framing it as a divine drama in four acts: 1) Creation and the Fall, 2) Calling Abraham, 3) Rescuing Israel through the Exodus and monarchy, and 4) Maintaining God's holiness through the exile. A key theme is God's universal intent for all nations, shown through promises to Abraham and prophecies of inclusion. While Israel was called as a light, God also sent individuals like Abraham and Jonah on outward mission. The drama ends with exile but hope from prophets that God will restore and gather all nations.
The document discusses Jesus' teachings on the wisdom of children from passages in Matthew and Luke. It summarizes that Jesus said the secrets of God's kingdom are revealed to those who have childlike faith, humility, and dependence on God, rather than the wise and learned. It explores that true faith involves believing with a child's trust in God, seeing spiritual truths that God reveals through opened eyes of faith, and perceiving further by walking in obedience to God.
The document discusses mission and sending in the Gospels. It summarizes that Jesus was sent by God to save people and bring the kingdom of God for all. Jesus' central message was the kingdom of God and his central actions were dying and resurrecting for our past and future. The Gospels then depict Jesus sending his disciples into the world to proclaim God's kingdom.

The document discusses the pursuit of wisdom and its importance. It encourages seeking wisdom like hidden treasure by studying proverbs. Wisdom is a gift from God and is found through Christ, who made all things and sustains them. The main focus is on wisdom being found in God.
The document discusses the origins and use of the Septuagint (LXX), an ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament. It notes that the LXX was likely translated by fewer than 70 scholars, for the large Greek-speaking Jewish population in Egypt. While not inspired, the LXX became the predominant scripture for Greek-speaking Jews and Christians. The majority of quotes from the Old Testament in the New Testament agree with the LXX, showing its influence. However, the translation quality varies and it should not be seen as superior to the original Hebrew.
1) Revelation chapter 7 describes events that are part of the sixth seal, including a great earthquake, the darkening of the sun and moon, and stars falling from the sky.
2) It describes 144,000 members of the 12 tribes of Israel being sealed by an angel.
3) A great multitude from every nation stands before God's throne, clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands, having come through the Great Tribulation and washed their robes in the blood of Jesus.

Specifically, it mentions prophecies about Jesus' birth, crucifixion details, and resurrection that were written centuries before the events occurred. The document also discusses false prophets throughout history whose predictions failed, contrasting them with God's true prophets whose prophecies came to pass.
You & I, as children of God, are CHOSEN by God before the foundations of the world and are called to CONSECRATE ourselves from the world and its many connections in order to set ourselves apart to be COMMITTED TO SERVE of our God, our Master and Lord
The document discusses the divisions and contents of the Old Testament and New Testament in the Bible. It provides details on the Hebrew canon, Protestant canon, and Catholic canon. The Old Testament is sealed with animal blood while the New Testament is sealed with Jesus' blood. The document also examines why different religious groups include different books in their biblical canons.
This document discusses how believers can endure suffering and tribulation by relying on the strength and comfort that God provides through Christ. It provides several Bible verses that speak of withstanding troubles through faith in God, even when outwardly afflicted, and finding renewed strength daily through looking to eternal spiritual things rather than temporary earthly troubles. How jesus became the greatest global brandJoseph Asoh
This is the story of Jesus, although He was Divine, chose to redeem humanity. Choosing to be born as a man through the womb of Virgin Mary, He endured nature’s harshness and wild nurture. Trapped in Human body, he subjected himself to all the frailties and inadequacies of man including suffering, weakness, hunger and death. Because of His complete obedience to the will of His Heavenly Father, God decided to give Him the highest honour available in all of Creation including heaven and earth – A Name that is above every other name, that at the Name of Jesus, every knee must bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is LORD to the glory of God the Father! This is how Jesus became the greatest global brand ever!!
The document discusses that a Christian's identity and value is given by God, not earned. It is maximized when used in community, as the body of Christ consists of many members with different gifts. A Christian's value is equal to all others, as all were made to drink of the same Spirit. A Christian builds value as they build up others in the body of Christ with humility, gentleness, and patience.
The book of Job records the story of Job, a righteous man who endured great suffering and loss. His three friends attempt to explain his situation, claiming it must be due to hidden sin. God later appears to Job and his friends, reminding them that God is sovereign and they cannot fully understand his purposes. The book encourages persevering in faith even during difficult times of suffering.
Baptism involves immersion in water by a repentant believer in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. The document discusses several results and responsibilities of baptism, including: 1) walking in newness of life through transformation by renewing our minds; 2) seeking unity through being baptized into one body and Spirit; and 3) worshipping God, studying the Bible, obeying Christ's commands, seeking heavenly things, and abandoning sin. The key message is that baptism involves more than just forgiveness - it requires changes to our lifestyle, behavior, and thinking.
The document discusses the benefits of meditating on God's word day and night as described in Psalm 1:1-3. It states that those who do this will be blessed in four ways: 1) They will grow strong and be rooted like a tree near water, 2) They will produce spiritual fruit, 3) Their faith will not wither even in hard times, and 4) They will be successful in all their efforts. The Bible is described as providing light, wisdom, comfort and guidance to direct believers to eternal glory.

This document provides an overview and analysis of Matthew 12:46-50 from the perspective of "The Royal Family". It divides the passage into three groups: 1) The religious leaders who condemned Jesus as an enemy, 2) Jesus' mother and brothers who approached him condescendingly, and 3) Jesus' disciples who celebrated him devotedly. The document examines the attitudes and behaviors of each group, concluding that only those who do God's will can be considered part of his royal family regardless of physical or religious ties.
This document discusses spiritual gifts, including the gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 and motivational gifts in Romans 12. It notes that God has given each person a gift from His great variety of spiritual gifts to serve one another for the common good. The document also references Ephesians 4 in discussing that Christ gave gifts to the church, including apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to equip the saints for works of service and building up the body of Christ. It categorizes the fivefold ministry roles as either pioneers, including apostles, prophets and evangelists, or developers, consisting of pastors and teachers.
The Gospel of Mark Prologue (Part I) | Mark 1:1-8 Lesson Danny Scotton, Jr.
Though scholars debate the length of the prologue, Mk 1:1-8 is largely about John the Baptist while Mk 1:9-15 is largely about Jesus. The transition from John the Baptist to Jesus the Christ (i.e., the Messiah) indicates the transition from the old era to the dawning of a new age in redemptive history.

Ezekiel was a prophet called by God to serve as a watchman for Israel. Through symbolic actions like lying on his side for 430 days and preaching, Ezekiel warned Israel of coming judgment for their sins and idolatry. He also had visions of Israel's future restoration, including receiving a new heart and spirit, dry bones coming to life, and the rebuilt temple. Ezekiel prophesied of a time when Satan will be bound for 1000 years and Christ will rule during the Millennial Kingdom before the final battle and judgment. The Minor Prophets also warned Israel and surrounding nations while offering hope for the future through messages focused on obedience, justice, and restoration.
This document provides an overview of the Bible, discussing its origins, composition, canonization, and authority. It notes that the Old Testament was compiled around 400 BC and the New Testament was widely accepted as scripture by the early church, though officially canonized in 397 AD. Various passages from the Bible are presented to argue for its divine inspiration, infallibility, and use for teaching. The Dead Sea Scrolls are mentioned as an important archaeological discovery that supported the reliability of the biblical text.
The bible’s journey through world historyPaul Fuller
The Bible has had a long journey from its earliest written forms thousands of years ago to the Bible we know today. It was written by over 40 authors over nearly a thousand years, yet has a divine unity as the inspired word of God. The Hebrew scriptures were carefully preserved for centuries by Jewish scribes despite attempts to destroy them. The texts were further preserved through meticulous copying and transcription by early Christians and monks, leading to the widespread availability of the Bible today in many languages.
This document discusses Jesus teaching his disciples about the fulfillment of prophecies concerning him in the Old Testament scriptures. It explains that Jesus opened their minds to understand by taking passages and showing how they were fulfilled in him. It then discusses how Jesus taught his disciples that it was necessary for him to suffer and rise from the dead on the third day according to scripture. Finally, it states that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.
The document provides an overview of the basics of the Bible, including:
- The Bible is a collection of 73 books written by various authors inspired by God between 1000 BC and 100 AD.
- The Old Testament canon contains 24 books for Jews and additional books for Catholics and Protestants have differing views on additional books.
- The Old Testament was originally written in Hebrew and later translated to Greek and Aramaic. The Greek translation is called the Septuagint.
- The Bible is both fully human and fully divine, using human authors and language but inspired by God without error on matters of salvation.

Notes to accompany HOW WE GOT THE BIBLE
Many have claimed that the Old Testament contains a number of myths and legends which were created by Jewish writers in the two or three centuries before the time of Christ or soon thereafter. Others would claim that most of the New Testament was written well into the late second century AD by Christian apologists who were creating a Jesus very different from the historical person. They would claim that the gospels are not an eye-witness account at all. Another common claim is that the original writings of the apostles were radically edited by the Catholic Church in the period after the conversion of the Roman Empire, to reflect Catholic doctrine. These people would claim that the doctrines found in the New Testament are very different from the original teachings of Jesus Christ. Still others will claim
that there were additional gospels written by the apostles which were excluded by leaders in the early church because of their bias against certain teachings...
The document discusses arguments that are commonly made against the reliability and authenticity of the Bible. It addresses claims that the Bible was mistranslated and miscopied over time, casting doubt on what the original text said. However, the document provides counterarguments noting that we have early manuscripts and copies that allow scholars to determine what was in the original autographs. It also argues that the Bible contains historical details that have been confirmed by archaeological findings and extra-biblical sources, indicating it provides an accurate historical record. The document disputes the idea that biblical books were arbitrarily picked by a committee, stating that early Church fathers recognized the books based on factors like authorship and consistency with doctrine. It proposes evidence that parts of the Bible display supernatural

This document provides information about an upcoming seminar aimed at demonstrating that the Bible comes from God. It will examine the unity of the Bible despite being written over 1600 years by 40 authors, the historical and scientific accuracy of the Bible, and the fulfillment of prophecies in the Bible as evidence it is divinely inspired. The seminar consists of 3 sessions on March 20th, 25th and April 3rd where attendees can ask questions. The document provides background on the Bible and outlines three tests that will be examined at the seminar: 1) the unity of the Bible, 2) the accuracy of the Bible historically and scientifically, and 3) the accuracy of prophecies in the Bible.
The document discusses evidence that supports the historical accuracy and reliability of the Bible. It notes that:
1) Ancient sources like Tacitus corroborate biblical accounts of Jesus and early Christianity. Archaeological findings also align with biblical descriptions.
2) Science and the Bible are not contradictory but complementary, as biblical passages accurately describe concepts like the spherical earth and stars long before modern discoveries.
3) Over 300 prophecies in the old testament pointed to Jesus and were fulfilled in the new testament, demonstrating the Bible's supernatural origin and unity of message.
4) Jesus himself validated the authority and trustworthiness of the old testament scriptures. The Bible has survived all attacks on its credibility and transformed countless

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

IN the beginning man spoke face to face with God. The record says that God came to dwell with them in the cool of the day. Inspiration also says that angels spoke with them face to face.
However, with the Fall of Man, man could not be in direct face to face communication with God.
Fast forward to Mt. Sinai. The children of Isreal are free for their captors and is led by God through Moses here to this mountaion.
On this mountiaon God gave the Ten Commandments. This would be the first record of writing down the words of God.
Fast forward 6000+ years and we have God’s word in our hand on our phones. But do Christians read it?
What are some reason that Christians don’t read the Bible?
Sadly but true that no one reads this book. Even among professed Christians it is looked down upon if you stop your day to spend time in God’s Word. This is my 2nd year going through the Bible in a year. It is really simple. Download the app and you can hear it the selection for the day. It is that easy. However, when I tell others that I am doing that there eyes open up like in amazement that I am undertaking such a feat. But really is it such a feat. We as disciples of Christ should know and love this wonderful book.
Yet over a period of 1,500 years they all agree on the same subject. You cant get even 5 random people over the period of 5 min to agree on something.
According to Ethnologue, there are currently 7,099 living languages in the world. At least one portion of Scripture has been translated for 3,312 of these languages.
The New Testament is available in 1,521 languages, with portions in 1,121. The complete Bible has been translated into 670 languages.*
The Wycliffe Society has estimated that by 2025 the Bible or a portion of it will be translated into every language in the world.

On the eve of the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, Constantine had a vision assuring him of victory in the name of the Christian God.
Legend states that Constantine marched his entire army through the River Tiber proclaiming that they had been baptized and now are Christians.
With this Edict of Milan Constantine gave Christians and others indulgence to worship as they please without the interference of the state. The edict also mandated the return of property that had previously been confiscated.
