Case Study Patient Referral
Patient Referral Case Study The referral of a patient to care outside of your practice is an
importance decision for a primary care manager (PCM) in the care of their beneficiaries. The
referral decision must include not only whether that patient would be best since by a specialist,
but by which specialist (Kinchen, Cooper et al. 2004) the beneficiary would best benefit. In
order to ensure the best care from the specialist effective patient information must be exchanged
between care providers in a timely manner. Health Information Exchange (HIE), which is also
known as Summary of Care , is an objective that is required for eligible professionals (EPs),
eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) that are taking part of the Electronic Health
Record (EHR) Incentive Program from 2015 until 2017 under Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2).
The objective contains one required measure for participation in the program. The measure is:
certified EHR technology (CEHRT) must be used to create a summary of care record which is to
be used transmit care information between entities involved in the care of the patient referred
(Services 2016). The items that must be included in the Summary of Care documents, provided the
referring provider knows the information, are shown in Table 1 (Mostashari 2012, Services 2016).
Currently the standard format that has been adopted for Summary of Care documents follows
Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C CDA) guidelines.

The Cold Equation By Tom Godwin Summary
Fall 2017 Dialogue Assignment The Cold Equations is a short story written by Tom Godwin.
Barton is a character on a different planet and is an EDS pilot. EDS are used for emergencies
and other calls that are urgent. In Barton s case he is flying towards Wooden, which is a planet,
where six men have been stranded, struck with a fever that could kill them without the right
serum, which they did have but with their luck, it was destroyed by a tornado. Barton s mission is
to fly back to earth, get the serum and then fly to Wooden. The only problem with the EDS is that
it is very small and stores just enough fuel to get to the destination and back. Any other mass
weight which was not calculated for could crash the plane. While Barton was... Show more content

least ask if she could go on to see her brother.
Marilyn s Mom: I don t care what the sign says! There should have been a better warning, my
poor girl just wanted to see her brother who she hasn t seen in 10 years. Barton should have been
more careful and checked EVERYWHERE to make sure that no one was on the ship.
Jan Narveson: It was right front of her eyes, she should have realized that this was not a place for
her to be in, no matter what the situation is. If she wanted to see her brother she should have just
waited to see him.
Marilyn s Mom: Marilyn obviously did not know the consequences, it is much different on
earth! Nothing is this harsh and so very cruel. I know my little girl and she would not go in there
if she knew that she was going to die. Well, think about this, what if the sign had been changed
and said: COME ON IN, WE WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION. Would you have
killed her then? It would be all your fault if she had walked in if the sign were to say that.
Me: Well that would make her 100% innocent, but if she is all sweet and innocent we would hope
that she would know that the right thing to do would be to sacrifice herself, to save Barton and the
6 other men.
Jan Narveson: That s right, it s either Marilyn stays alive for a few more hours and they all die, or
just Marilyn dies and the others are saved. She should know what

The Embryonic Stem Cell Conflict Essay
Many of the criticisms directed towards the advent of stem cell research have centered on the
source of the most scientifically useful types of stem cells pre implantation human embryos.
Unfortunately, harvesting embryonic stem cells typically results in the destruction of the embryo
from which they are harvested, which gives rise to a moral dilemma: is it ethically acceptable to
destroy an embryo s potential to life? Those who are against human embryonic stem cellresearch
will answer you with an emphatic no ; they usually argue much like pro lifers ...human embryos
have an equal standing to all living persons... and destroying them is akin to murder (Hyuu 71).
However, to halt stem cellresearch solely because an embryo has the potential... Show more content

According to Alenzi, Stem cells are immature, unspecialized cells that their developmental
direction has not yet been determined (19929), and because they do not yet serve any meaningful
purpose, stem cells are capable of becoming virtually any specialized cell in the body; they can
become nerve cells, blood cells, skin cells, and just about any other cell you can think of.
There is a variety of sources from which stem cells may be obtained. These sources include (but
are not limited to): human embryos, the blood from the umbilical cord, and even various organs
from full grown adults. However, as I have mentioned before, the controversy emanates from the
fact that human embryos are the preferred source for stem cells, due to their vast regenerative
capabilities. While it is possible to safely harvest stem cells from full grown adults (adult stem
cells), the stem cells harvested would lack the pluripotency (ability to become any specialized
cell) of embryonic stem cells; whereas embryonic stem cells can differentiate into any cell, adult
stem cells can only become specialized cells from the tissue in which they reside (multipotency).
For example, hematopoietic stem cells found in the bone marrow of adults can become all mature
blood cell types, but cannot become muscle cells or any other type of cell found in the body.
Similar to adult stem cells, most of the other sources

Gender Roles During The Reconstruction Era
In an article by Gizelis, the authors states Civil wars destroy the previous social, economic, and
political structures, and lead to tremendous changes in individual social identities and cultural
practices. Many of the standard patriarchal gender roles remained the same in the Reconstruction
such as the woman took care of the house and children while the men were the breadwinners and in
control. The difference is in this period, freed African American men adopted the gender roleof
Caucasian men, and women began to fight for the chance of an education and the right to vote. The
Reconstruction Era hosted the creation of several organizations as well as individuals to fight for
the rights of women and minority men.

Update the Recurring Sin Tax Law that Was Newly...
Rationale of the Study This study was drawn to update the recurring sin tax law that was newly
implemented by the President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino by assessing its effect to the
consumers of sin products and has given fruitful grounds and suggestions for future research in this
field.
In belief, the purpose of the imposition of excise tax on sin products is to raise revenues and
discouraging the consumption of the tobacco products and alcoholic beverages. It is claimed that
higher excise taxes on tobacco will make some smokers to quit, and reduce consumption of
continuing smokers, and prevent others from starting (Sunley, 2009). Because the demand for
cigarettes is relatively price inelastic, the expectation is that higher taxes will yield higher
revenues in the near term while preventing smoking in the longer term. If a tax is imposed on a
good, verbally express excise taxes on alcohol or tobacco, it may possibly have influenced the
decision of how many to consume and make efficiency cost (Badenes PlГЎ Jones, 2003). In
contrast, according to McGee (2000), liquor and cigarettes are had insensitive to changes of price
that many of the consumers of sin products continue to buy it regardless of the increase in its
prices. Then, it becomes usual that there will be a protest on excise tax for the reason that this sin
tax law will not cause a reduction to their demand in sin products. In worldwide tax rates,
Philippines obtain the lowest rate specifically on

Trials And Tribulations In Mental Health
It has been noted by many that it is important for us to understand that the present is directly
influenced by the past and it will directly influence the future. If we are to ignore the events that
have led us to where we are then we are destined to repeat our often tragic and ill fated past. We
also have no way of truly making a difference in the field of mental health if we are unable to
build upon both the successes and the failures of those who have come before us (Gerig, 2014).
This paper examines some of the literature written to detail the trials and tribulations in the mental
health field from the early Greek times to presentday in the hopes of gaining some perspective on

Jung developed intricate theories surrounding the collective unconscious and archetypes or
archetypal images . Jung believed that in combination, the archetypes and collective unconscious
combined to directly influence human personality. These theories incorporated an aspect of culture,
religion, and spirituality that Freud s views avoided. Jung s new school of thought would come to
be known as Analytic Psychology and much like Freud this school of thought remains intact for
many modern mental health practitioners.
Many other highly notable influences on mental health and wellness exist and deserve great respect
from modern therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists alike. Individuals such as Ivan Pavlov,
Alfred Adler, Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson, Abraham Maslow, and Carl Rogers contributed to the
mountain of fascinating theories that can now be pieced together to better help explain and care for
the human condition. Those treating the mentally ill have been given powerful tools in

What Differentiates Sfeelou s And Skandalis

Just like in her previous book, in this novel too, the author does not distinguish between Germans

hundred fifty pages of narrative text. This is of particular importance as Оџ ОјОµОіО¬О»ОїП‚
ОјО±П‚ О±ОґОµПЃП†ПЊП‚ is the only text published in the first period the metapolitefsi which

In both books the Germans are portrayed in a neutral way and the words soldiers , occupiers ,
occupation troops , foreigners and enemies are amongst those employed by the authors to refer
to the Germans. What differentiates Sfaelou s and Skandalis s narratives from those that have
talked about so far, however, is that both writers make use of the term Nazis , while in one of
Skandalis s short stories the term Third Reich also comes across. Nonetheless, none of the writers
provide any further explanations, either in the narrative text or in the paratext, which would help
the young reader to put the terms in question into their historical and ideopolitical context.
Furthermore, none of the authors are concerned to distinguish between Germans as a national
group and Nazis as a group of supporters of a certain ideological doctrine and in both texts the
word Nazi is used as an alternative word for Germans . Since no distinctions are made between
Germans and Nazis, the switching between the two words renders them synonymous. In other
words, the Germans are Nazified and the Nazis are Germanised while Germanness and Nazism are
conflated in the identity of the enemy with whatever implications this might have to the young
reader s conceptualization of

Why Handguns Should Not Be Banned
Handguns can be effortlessly disguised, so they are the weapon of decision for individuals who
utilize them for self preservation. Sadly, they are additionally the weapon of selection for crooks.
Since handguns are simple for delinquents to take, handguns are easily accessed on the black
market; this makes handguns appealing for crooks. The majority of crimes involving guns are
committed with the usage of a handgun; this is a serious issue in America today. Although most
would concur that something must be done, nobody appears to have the appropriate response now.
Some weapon control supporters trust that totally restricting handguns is the most ideal approach to

At the point when an individual is mindful and prepared properly, handguns are effortlessly the
best type of self preservation, and a handgun ban removes this alternative from them. John Stossel
(2008), clarifies that laws against firearms are truly laws against self preservation, and required
weapon free zones are in reality free wrongdoing zones. Handgun bans won t prevent criminals
from obtaining weapons; they will, be that as it may, keep a well behaved resident from purchasing
a firearm for self preservation (pg.21). While he might be somewhat extraordinary in expressing
that laws against weapons are laws against self protection, he makes a decent point. Forbidding
handguns leaves subjects with less self protection choices. At the point when individuals are
stripped of the best type of self preservation, they are helpless, and this is a major issue. Stossel
is accurate about firearm bans keeping decent citizens from utilizing weapons in self protection,
and this gives the preferred standpoint to the criminal. A well behaved citizen won t overstep the
law and claim a handgun in the event that they are restricted, yet a criminal will. In the event that
an individual tries to rob a bank or murder somebody, he or she is not going to be stressed over
breaking a firearm mandate.

Colonialism And Imperialism In Latin America
Throughout the first seven weeks of class, there were numerous readings on the effects of
colonization and imperialism. All the authors wrote about different points, using terms such as
formal and informal colonies, settler mortality rate, modernization and dependency theory, the
scramble for Africa, and more. They each have different arguments but all accurately mention the
strong after effects colonialismand imperialism have on formerly conquered states. These processes
are exploitative, hinder state growth, and create devastating and long term problems.
Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson explain the reasoning behind the different
types of colonies. They believe that there are two main types of colonies: settler and extractive. ...

Contrasted with formal empires, which have territories directly under control of the colonizer,
informal empires control countries indirectly by using their economies. A notable example of this
would be India during British imperialism. Before India was even a colony, it was controlled
through the British East India Company, which eventually did turn into direct colonization.
Informal empires are generated because many developing countries are forced to rely on a major
power in order to be economically stable. Another author, Walter Rodney, similarly agrees that this
system is unfair. His dependency theory, which counteracts Rostow s modernization theory, states
that many struggling countries will never get to fully develop because rich states will always find
a way to get richer, making poor states poorer. This unjust system is often the lingering effect of
imperialism and colonization because a formerly controlled country still relies on their mother
country even after they gain

The Difference Between Brutus and Cassius in William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar
In Shakespeare s Julius Caesar , Brutus and Cassius are contrasting characters. They differ in the
way they perceive Antony as a threat to the assassination plot, their dominance in personality, and
their moral obligation. In Julius Caesar, Brutus is the more naГѓВЇve, dominant and noble character,
while Cassius is the more perceptive, submissive, and manipulative person.
Brutus and Cassius are very different in the way they perceive Antony. Brutus is very trusting and

When Brutus gives Antony the right to speak at Caesar s funeral, Cassius pulls Brutus aside and
says, You know not what you do. Do not consent that Antony speak in [Caesar s] funeral. Know
you how much the people may be moved/ by that which [Antony] will utter? Cassius sees that
Antony is a powerful speaker and that if Antony speaks the people will side with him. This shows
that Cassius has a much better idea of how dangerous Antony is.
Although Cassius is correct on how dangerous Antony really is, Brutus ideas are used because
Brutus is the more dominant character. In the play Cassius is the more passive character and
Brutus, the more authoritative. This is exemplified when Brutus and Cassius are arguing about
allowing Cicero joining the assassination conspiracy. Cassius thinks that Cicero is a good and
honorable man that should be included, but as soon as he nominates Cicero to join the group,
Brutus steps in and says, O, name him not! Let us not break with him, for he will never follow
anything that other men begin . Instead of contesting Brutus, Cassius just lets it pass and concedes
to not permitting Cicero to join the group. Although this particular argument is not pivotal to the
plot, it augments how Brutus dominates what decisions are made. Brutus again shows his
dominance over Cassius when the two are discussing military strategies. Cassius wants to stay

Martin Luther And The Protestant Reformation
In the early days of November 10, 1483, Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Saxony, in modern
southeast Germany and it was an extremely tense world. But on the other hand great changes were
waiting around the corner, and Luther too, would take a part in these changes.
On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther, angry with Pope Leo X s new round of indulgences to help
build St. Peter s Basilica, nailed a sheet of paper with his 95 Theses on the University of
Wittenberg s chapel door. Martin Luther was a German monk who began the Protestant Reformation
in the 16th century, becoming one of the most influential and controversial figures in Christian
history. Luther called into question some of the basic tenets of Roman Catholicism, and his
followers soon split from the Roman Catholic Church to begin the Protestant tradition.
The first few years of monastic life were difficult for Martin Luther, as he did not find the religious
enlightenment he was seeking. A mentor told him to focus his life exclusively on Christ and this
would later provide him with the guidance he sought.
At age 27, Luther was given the opportunity to be a delegate to a Catholic church conference in
Rome. He came away more disillusioned, and very discouraged by the immorality and corruption
he witnessed there among the Catholic priests. Upon his return to Germany, he enrolled in the
University of Wittenberg in an attempt to suppress his spiritual turmoil. He excelled in his studies
and received a doctorate,

Narrating The Nation Picasso And The Myth Of El Greco
Robert Lubar s essay Narrating the Nation: Picasso and the Myth of El Greco discusses the
aftermath of the bloody Spanish American war resulting in El Desastre del 98 in Spain which
rocked the national psyche into a period of cultural dissonance. Following the Disaster, the nation
quickly found itself in an agitated period of conflicting ideas and divisive discourses, specifically
between Madrid and Catalonia. Essentially, class divisions, regional differences, and this lack of
national identity was what gave way to the Myth of El Grecoin fin de sГЇecle Spain. Lubar proposes
that the myth connected tradition and modernity whilst illustrating the middle class pursuit to

What the history of Spanish art tells us is that the writers of history construct these cultural
discourses and emanate artistic rhetoric in order to challenge institutions and ideologies existent in
their times; where tradition serves to extol and preserve the comfortable customs in our lineage,
modernity serves to revolutionize and counter those very social constructs. If there is anything that
has become clear to me, it is that temporality and tradition, progressivism and modernity, all exist in
an intertextual phenomena within, in relation, and in conversation with each other. As Unanomo
and Ganivet pointed out in their writings, tradition simultaneously informs, and is formed by, the
present . During the era of regeneration, Castille rushed to codify culture within their targeted
political positions which could be considered as a push against the State due to political corruption,

The Rise And Fall Of Egyptian Independence
INTRODUCTION
Egypt was formally incorporated into the Roman Empire in 30BC resulting in the loss of Egyptian
independence. Egypt had experienced years of political upheaval owing to sibling rivalry and
native unrest (Wilkinson, 2010), well before Rome was interested in seizing the country. This
allowed for the weakening of the country, which consequentially made it easily conquered.
However, Egypt s loss of independence was ultimately prompted by the relationship between
Cleopatra VII and Marc Anthony therefore making it the immediate catalyst (Jankowski, 2000).
When analyzing to what extent was the relationship between Cleopatra VII and Marc Anthony the
catalyst for the loss of Egyptian independence in 30BC the aim is to extract scholarly research
findings that relate specifically to the research question and thus assist with an examination of the
aforementioned question.

Essay about Analysis of The Hunger Artist by Kafka
Analysis of The Hunger Artist by Kafka
Hunger is a term that is often defined as the physical feeling for the need to eat. However, the
Hunger Artist in Kafka s A Hunger Artist places a different, more complex meaning to this word,
making the Hunger Artist s name rather ironic. The hunger of the Hunger Artist is not for food. As
described at the end of the essay, the Hunger Artist states that he was in fact never hungry, he just
never found anything that he liked. So then, what does this man s hunger truly mean? What drives
the Hunger Artist to fast for so long, if he is truly not hungry? The Hunger Artist salivates not for
the food which he is teased with, nor does he even sneak food when he alone. The Hunger Artist

Instead, he would show off for the guards that were supposed to watch him, to make sure he
never ate a single thing, ?He was quite prepared to spend the whole night entirely without sleep
with such watchmen; he was prepared to swap jokes with them, to tell them stories about his
nomadic life and listen to their stories in turn, anything just to keep them awake to be able to
show them again and again that he had nothing to eat in his cage, and that he was fasting like no
one of them could fast.? (Kafka, 256). The Hunger artist was addicted to fame, and made every
attempt to show off his skill.
It seems ironic, however, that when his fans were near him, he would show no effort to interact
with the crowd. No stories, jokes, or anything of the like with which shared with the watchmen.
Instead, he seemed to take the fans for granted, almost treating the fans as if they were weak and
unimportant, ? occasionally even stretching his arm through the bars to let them feel how skinny he
was, but then again withdrawing completely to himself, paying attention to no one.? (Kafka, 256)
The Hunger Artist assumes that the crowd will always be there, witnessing and admiring his
skills, constantly wondering, ?How does he do it?? So, as time goes on, the hunger artist becomes
more and more expecting of his crowd, hungering more and more for the fame and love that his
fans seemed to give. Unfortunately, every star, no

Advertisement Is Not A Recent Human Attempt
Advertisement is not a recent human attempt; it existed throughout the revolutions of humankind.
In ancient civilizations, stone carving, wall printing, and oral noticing were the most common
form of advertising. Egyptian Pharaohs used carved iron plates for public notices.
Archaeologists in Thebes, Egypt discovered a 3000 year old public advertisement that offered a
reward for runaway slave. Old Greeks employed wall paintings for theater play ads, and papyrus
sheets to advertise lost and found items. Romans in the first century A.D, used oral announcements
to publicize the arrival of caravan supplies. Also, according to archaeological discovery in
Pompeii, Italy, Romans employed written ads to promote property rentals (1). However,
advertisement as a profitable industry did not start till the influx of mass media like printing, radio,
and television emerged. By the invention of big plasma cable TVs equipped with child oriented
programs, and the Internet, commercial ads that target children grew ubiquitously unlimited.
Though some advertisements can be supportive, fast food advertisements that target children
should be prohibited as they cause unhealthy habit to children and induce parent child conflicts.
Foremost fast food advertisers employ several strategies to influence children. First fast food
advertisers use cartoon images embodied with brand to make their product more attractive to
children. For example, McDonalds in 1990 run a commercial ad of Fry Kids (2) to

Much can be learned from studying an organisms DNA. The first step to doing this is extracting
DNA from cells. In this experiment, you will isolate DNA from the cells of fruit. Materials (1) 10

Let the test tube sit undisturbed for 2 5 minutes. You should begin to see air bubbles form at the
boundary line between the ethanol and the filtered fruit solution. Bubbles will form near the top,
and you will eventually see the DNA float to the top of the ethanol. Gently insert the stir stick into
the test tube. Slowly raise and lower the tip several times to spool and collect the DNA. If there
is an insufficient amount of DNA available, it may not float to the top of the solution in a form
that can be easily spooled or removed from the tube. However, the DNA will still be visible as
white/clear clusters by gently stirring the solution and pushing the clusters around the top. Post
Lab Questions What is the texture and consistency of the DNA DNA is viscous and greasy.
Why did we use a salt in the extraction solution High salt makes DNA less soluble in water. In
order to dissolve, the water needs to interact with the DNA. Since DNA is quite large, it needs to
interact with lots of water for this purpose. When you add salt, the water preferentially interacts
with the salt (its small, and can move around in solution easier than the DNA can). This makes it
so there is less water available to interact with the DNA and it becomes less soluble. Is the DNA
soluble in the aqueous solution or alcohol DNA is less soluble in an alcohol such as isopropanol
than it is in water. This is because alcohols are non polar, whereas water is polar. The polar

What Is A Lie Essay
The lie.
I mean the lie is the first sin we commit. As children, we often learn always to tell the truth.
However, there is an opportunity in life when we are taking the first steps toward a lie: to avoid a
punishment, to achieve a goal, to adapt to a situation, or to enhance our status. It is for this reason
that the lies are so close to us.
There are different levels of lies, and none of them is okay, not even the white little lie. A white lie
is a lie that offers consolation and a false belief of security. The best cover up of the lie is the
absence of truth. The absence of truth is a lie that is harder to see through but to defraud, and
omission of information as a tool to fool us from the truth is a lie straight through.
One of the main features of people who defraud information or omit the truth is that they are
constantly on the defensive. Because of this, they do not want to collaborate and have few
explanations for why they should be perceived as trustworthy, and they are trying to ... Show more

Do not let the lies control your deeds and actions in a given situation. Instead, allow the truth to
prevail. Sure, the truth hurts, but the truth hurts once while the lie hurts forever. I do not like lies
that are comforting me or a half truth. I prefer reality, even if it hurts.
It does not matter how painful the truth is. It offers us an opportunity to strengthen our ability to
make decisions, analyse things, and determine our emotional and cognitive identity.
What does the truth give? It gives you confidences, self esteem, and respect. To others, it provides
integrity, authenticity, and an opportunity for a free choice.
Keep in mind that honesty is the most important thing in life when dealing with other people.
Therefore, always be honest because it is the only way to grow the integrity of the relationship and

Compare And Contrast Jeffrey Dahmer And Ted Bundy
Out of all the Infamous killers in the U.S the two well known killers that I will be researching
are Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy. These two murderers share many similarities such as their
backgrounds, Crimes, and Motives. Both Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy are serial killers who
ve killed over a dozen people each. They ve committed crimes including rape, murder, and
kidnapping. In this research paper I will be comparing and contrasting the two serial killers. The
two serial killers shared similar childhood traits. They both experience abnormal things in their

There is said to be more than a dozen murders done by each men. In addition to the crimes
committed by these two serial killers, I will now explain the similarities and differences in both
spree s that these men pursued. One of the similarities shared are the amount of murders each
man did, both were over a dozen each. Both men went to college and ended up dropping out
during the sprees. Bundy was a womanizer who lured women into his car and kidnapped them.
Ted Bundy was a very handsome man which made it easy to make friends and lure women with
his looks. He was known as the dark haired man named Ted . He pretended to be injured to lure
women to his car so he could kidnap them. Ted Would lure young women to his car, and then
beat them to death according to CNN s Serial Killers Fast Facts article. Now Jeffrey Dahmer was
something else I ll tell you. Jeffery drugged, raped, and sodomized men and young boys. Dahmer
killed 17 males between 1978 and 1991, most of them African American. His style was to meet
them at gay bars, or bus stops. Then he would drug them, strangle them and then engage in sex acts
with the corpse before diminishing them. He kept the skulls and genitals as souvenirs. He would
also keep photographs of the heinous act to later relive the experience. These men have many
similarities and differences, but what makes them the same is that the heinous acts

D.Min. Project Prospectus Sharon L. Smith I. Title: Bridging the Gap: A Pilot Project Aimed at
Mutually Equipping Church and Business Leaders for Kingdom Impact II. The Context:
Followers of Jesus Christ who possess a divine calling, talents, and gifts to work and serve God
through specific voluntary or paid vocations in the workplace face daily opportunities to impact
the Kingdom of God. When believers walk by faith and obedience in the revelation that God s
divine presence and purpose is with them daily in their work lives, God empowers them to lead
change that can transform lives, businesses, and even nations. Believers clearly see this truth in the
lives of Abraham, Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah. The Great... Show more content on

Many marketplace leaders express a desire to have greater impact for God in the workplace, but
their view and understanding of Kingdom ministry hinders them. The common belief that
sacred is separate from secular is pervasive among marketplace believers. This view is
detrimental to the advancement of the Kingdom. Contrary to this belief, Scripture represents a
holistic approach, which views work as worship with all believers as one of a kind ministers of
God s grace in the context in which He places them. A deficient understanding of the importance
of a God given calling to serve the Kingdom in a marketplace vocation weakens a believer s
perspective and witness as he or she seeks to engage with unsaved humanity. Also, many Spirit
filled marketplace ministers lack hope and faith that the gifts of the Spirit will operate through
them in workplace contexts. The present state of corruption, greed, and moral failure among
leaders in corporate America bears witness to the need for the Church to more effectively engage
in the marketplace. Informed and relevant equipping and empowering of workplace believers by
knowledgeable church leaders can help direct God s followers toward this goal. Greater and more
industrious works of service are possible through increased communication and collaboration

The Legal Systems Of The World-
As the world is moving forward, the need for unified law is increasing. That is why mixed legal
jurisdictions are being able to accommodate modern laws into their own jurisdictions. Several
jurisdictions in the world have mixed legal heritage, as different countries have ruled them but
some of the countries tend to adopt laws from other jurisdictions. Philippines is country who has a
very strong mixed legal heritage and Japan also adopted law from U.S.A.

Hence, in a civil law system judges role is not vital in decision making. They just interpret laws to

Now we will put light on the historical development of civil legal system. Civil law term derived
from ius civile (latin). This law was applicable for all the Roman cives or citizens. Orgins and
model of civil law are to be located in the Roman monumental compilation. In sixth century CE
this was custom built by the Emperor Justinian. However this compilation of the emperor was
disoriented to the West after decades of its creation and later it was rediscovered which created
the basis for legal education in eleventh century Italy. The sixteenth century was recognized as
Corpus iuris civilis. Throughout Europe following generations of legal scholars customized the
doctrines of ancient law of Rome in the Corpus iuris civilis for contemporary needs. Also
medieval academics of church of catholic or canon law were prejudiced by Roman law learning
and they accumulated prevailing religious legal foundations into their own comprehensive system.
In middle Ages, civil and canon, these two laws, were imparted in most universities, which shaped
the foundation of a united body of legal thought and it was shared to majority of Europe. Therefore

Advantages Of Extreme Hotel Hacks That You Should Try
Awesome hotel hacks that you should try
Every one of us needs a break from their monotonous life once a while, don t you agree? What
better therapy than a holiday! With a beautiful holiday destination comes the need of booking
hotels. Some of these hotels eat up in your budget and you are forced to compromise on the stay.
Now, how good is a holiday with a compromise? Here are few hacks that can save you some bucks
and also give you a better deal and a comfortable stay.
Make a combo booking
There are many online travel booking sites that offer you a combination like booking a flight and a
hotel. Few sites offer booking of flight, cab as well as a hotel. There are different options and
ranges of flights and hotels that are available on these sites. Depending on the budget and luxury
you need, you can choose your booking. Usually making a combination booking cracks you a
better deal than booking separately. So why spend more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apart from the basic toiletries, breakfast and Wi Fi, sometimes the bookings made might have

booking and wasn t aware of it, till the end of my stay. It is always best to find out at the reception
about the complimentary items included in your booking and enjoy all that you can.
Apart from these, if you are just planning for a holiday with a budget constraint and flexibility of
dates, then you should plan your trips during the off season. The hotel rates are slashed to a great
extent and you might get a luxurious deal in your budget. Sometimes during season, a similar
chain of hotel might offer you a better rate than the one you are looking at. You can always ask
them if they are ready to match up to the other hotel. This usually works with hotels as they do not
want their business to go down because of their

Suddenly he seemed to forget the pain,
Consented, and held out
One finger from the others.
The gash was bleeding, and a shaft of sun
That glittered in and out among the wheels,
Fell lightly, warmly, down into the wound.
And as the fingers of the factory owner s son,
That knew a grip for books and tennis
As well as one for iron and leather,
As his taut, spare fingers wound the gauze

The style of Hart Crane is nearly unmatched. Here he uses a free verse structure, written as a

a rhyme scheme had been used quite frivolously. There is also a great deal of imagery. A good
amount of emphasis is placed upon the hands, the lifeblood of our interaction with the world, and

many ways from catchy slogans to iconic logos. Some may say there is nothing wrong with a little

Europe is well known for using sexual nudity to promote a product, simply because sex sells .
Approaching advertising in a different light would be emotionally. In America, advertising can
be described as hard selling. Hard selling is a campaign or advertisement that is direct, forceful
and straight to the point. For example while watching an American seatbelt warning on Youtube,
the commercial is simply based on the motto, Click it or Ticket , showing average people driving
their cars and getting pulled over by officers and receiving a ticket and fine. The commercial is
to the point and straight forward, showing almost no emotion. The approach that American
marketing companies have used is effective by saying If you don t wear your seatbelt, then you
will be forced by law to pay a fine . Similarly compared to the American commercial is the
European commercial s motto, Heaven Can Wait , is an emotional grasp on losing your life over
not wearing your seatbelt. Although the two are trying to deliver the same idea, the European
method seems to make a gentler or softer appeal to the viewer by incorporating emotion and
reality into the grand scheme. The emotion, fear, is incorporated into this commercial and
motivates the audience to action. We as viewers can see how both American and European
advertising is very successful; it is hard not to view one as more effective.

The message of Jesus Christ and the Church is reflected though the eight Catholic Social Teaching

Social Teaching affirms that the children of Godis sacred and valuable from the time of conception

Additionally, the Catholic Churchdefends the dignity of each person, since God created people to

Blank Verse and Other Verse Forms : Browning was a great metrical artist. He experimented with
number of stanza forms and rhyme schemes. Browning has written My Last Duchess in heroic

Jenny Lawson s Furiously Happy
The days I was caught in the storm of depression united me with Jenny Lawson s second book
that became my therapy for that period of time. It was recommended by a close friend who knew
of the challenges I faced in a haze of darkness. When she recited excerpts from the book,
immediately, the words changed from tangible squiggles to lived nights in distant insomnia.
On days I was unable to pull myself out of bed, I would read Furiously Happy while under my
covers, staring at the ceiling and dealing with the many voices that kept clawing and breaking each
layer down that built a fortress of self doubt and underwater volcanos of self loathing. Many people
do not understand these feelings that blossomed inside, and therefore bring their own selective
perspectives about mental illness devaluing my human in brain experiences. Explaining to them

The Characteristics Of Creon For King In Oedipus The King
Creon for King
All is not well in Thebes. A mystery is in the process of being solved as the people of Thebes
suffer. In Sophocles Greek tragedy, Oedipus Rex, Thebes is being punished by the gods for a
crime committed far in the past. The city of Thebes is cursed with a plague until the murderer of
Laius is discovered and banished from the land. As Creon and Oedipus work to save Thebes, their
different qualities show who is a better fit to be king. Oedipus saved Thebes once from the
sphinx; however, Oedipus qualities of being arrogant, intense, and stubborn cause him to foil
with Creon s character traits of being selfless, calm, and forgiving. According to Merriam Webster,
a leader is someone who leads or guides. Because Creon s character traits portray a desirable leader,
Creon is a better fit to be king of Thebes.
Oedipus is quick to display his arrogance shortly after being informed of the troubles facing
Thebes, which highlights Creon s selfless actions. As the play opens, a plague is upon Thebes.
Broken but hopeful, people cling to the altars of the gods. Oedipus appears and evaluates the
scene of people kneeling at the altars, pleading for deliverance from the hard times bearing
Thebes. Oedipus then confidently announces, Here I am myself you all know me, the world
knows my fame: I am Oedipus (7 9). By Oedipus making this bold remark, he is expressing his
pride in himself. As King of Thebes, Oedipus is looked up to in times of hardship to guide the
people, but in this part of the play, his arrogance is more notable than his heroic actions. Later,
while addressing the citizens of Thebes, Oedipus shares, I acted at once. I sent Creon my wife s
own brother to Delphi Apollo the Prophet s oracle to learn what I might do or say to save our
city (81 84). In similar words, Oedipus sent Creon to go to the Oracle instead of going himself.
Without Creon being selfless and journeying to Delphi to consult the Oracle Thebes would have
no guidance from the gods on how to rid the plague from Thebes. Because Creon was selfless,
while Oedipus was arrogant, Creon is a better suit to be king of Thebes.
As the play progresses, Creon shows other king like attributes such as his ability to be calm, while

Introduction A sample is a set of data drawn from the population, it is considered as a subset.
Populations are defined as the set of all items or individuals of interest. Samples are less time
consuming than a census, less costly to administer than a census and it is possible to obtain
statistical results of a sufficiently high precision based on samples. There are two types of sampling
techniques, probability and non probability sampling. Probability Sampling A probability sampling

That does not mean that non probability samples do not represent the population. But it does mean
that nonprobability samples cannot depend upon the rationale of probability theory. At least with a
probabilistic sample, we know the odds or probability that we have represented the population well.
With nonprobability samples, we may or may not represent the population well and it will b
difficult to find out to what extent. We can divide nonprobability sampling methods into three
types: convenience, judgement or quota. Most sampling methods are purposive in nature because
we usually approach the sampling problem with a specific plan in mind. The most important
distinctions among these types of sampling methods are the ones between the different types of
purposive sampling approaches. Convenience sampling occurs when the sampling units are selected
to suit the convenience of the researcher. Respondents are included in the sample if they happen to
be in the right place at the right time. In a study on employment practices in the textile industry, a
researcher may find it more convenient to interview employees within one clothing manufacturing

by the company were the first generation 1G phones. They were synonymous because of the verity
that they utilized analog transmission. However, the advancements in technology have since
rendered analog transmission obsolete. This has been marked by the introduction of second
generation phones, (2G phones). However, the connectivity, especially with regards to internet
proved to be slower. This prompted the introduction of third generation... Show more content on

Moreover, these companies have often purported that Media Tek is linked with the production of
counterfeit phone chipsets. This aspect has dealt a blow to the sale and export of the chipsets from
the company. The most amicable strategy that can be utilized by the firm will be based on
convincing the consumers that the chipsets are not counterfeit (Arnold 47). This can only be
executed by ensuring that the chipsets are durable. Strategic issues in the industry: The Company
has been on the path of innovation and invention. This is evidenced by their first colonization of
CD Rom controllers. This made the company acquire 50% of the market share of CD Rom
controllers. The largest opportunity for the industry is based on the fact that technology is always
dynamic. In fact, it has reached a point that human lifestyle is defined by the level of advancements
in technology. The most significant threat lies on the validation of the counterfeit claims. In the
event that such claims are substantiated and validated, Media Tek will lose a significant market
share. The risk and uncertainty in the industry emanates from the verity that wireless chipsets are
manmade. It is common knowledge that man is not perfect. There is bound to be some level of
imperfections in technology, which may render purchased handsets to malfunction. Internal

Port Authority Analysis
The Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, formerly my place of employment, is a joint venture
of two States. Collectively, they construct, operates, and sustains vital transportation and trade
resources. Throughout the New York/New Jersey region, its network of rail, surface transportation,
aviation and seaport facilities move people and transports vital cargo. Additionally, the organization
owns and manages sixteen acres of land at the World Trade Center found in New York. Since the
Port Authority is an extensive organization, I would concentrate on the Aviation Department.

Describe Las Vegas
Las Vegas You usually would not expect a seventeen year old to say that they love vacationing to
Las Vegas, but in my case I absolutely love it. There are so many fun activities to do I just can
not get enough. The first thing I usually do when I get to Vegas is start people watching. You
would be amazed with how different people are in this world.almost everywhere you look you see
people dressed up in the most random outfits to mostly get attention from other people. The scariest
part about people watching is the ones in the costumes. Considering, I absolutely hate when people
dress up in costumes. The random people do the weirdest and craziest stuff and think nothing of it. I
could honestly sit somewhere and watch the madness all night.

Examples Of Conflict In The Running Dream
Makaya Fofana Conflict in The Running Dream The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen
is an example of literature in which the protagonist faces a considerable amount of conflict, as
well as the movie Ferris Bueller s Day Off . In The Running Dream, not only does the
protagonist, Jessica Carlisie, face conflict, but also the characters who were there to support her.
Jessica Carlisie was an unfortunate victim of a bus crash on her way home from a track meet.
As a consequence of the crash, her doctors were forced to amputate her leg, damaged beyond
repair. On a smaller scale of conflict, Ferris Bueller does all he can to trick his parents and the

Whether it is a teacher, parent, or friend, we are always trying to impress someone. Young adults
also have trouble balancing school with sports and a social life, almost like Jessica had trouble
balancing in a more literal sense. Most of my problems are more similar to Ferris s in Ferris
Bueller s Day Off . An example would include, having a few mom friends, such as Cameron,
meaning that they re overprotective and cautious. Although I enjoy all of my friends equally, their
mothering can sometimes be annoying. All in all, The Running Dream and Ferris Bueller s Day

face are relatable to young adults today, adding the aspect of being able to relate to the characters,

Lucy Human Evolution
Lucy was exposed by Donald Johanson, an anthropologist, with his team, went to survey Hadar
in Ethiopia during the late 1970s for signs in understanding Human origins. On November 24,
1974 by the Awash River, Donald s plan for the day was to update his notes but decided
otherwise when one of his students, Tom Gray, joined him to find fossil bones. Both of them
were on the hot waterless plains examining the sandy terrain when a fossil was spotted; it turned
out to be an arm bone fragments on a slope. As they looked closer, more and more bones were
found, including a jaw, arm bone, a thighbone, ribs, and vertebrae. Donald and Tom had cautiously
examined the limited skeleton and calculated that a remarkable 40% of a hominid skeleton was
salvaged,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Experts claim that Lucy was in certain ways more adapted to walking vertical than a modern human
, as the pelvis has to cooperate between bipedal (using only two legs for walking) movement and
the capability to give birth to big brained offspring. Others talk about her arms, saying they were
longer than a modern human s, and the bones of her fingers were curve, these were also seen in
tree dwelling primates. This adds the question, how much did she use her climbing skills, or
were they purely evolutionary remains from arboreal descendants, is a matter of debate.
Although Lucy s hip and knee joints were not as specialized for a upright posture like humans,
she was clearly able of walking on two feet, although running like a modern human was
undoubtedly outside her capabilities. The size and shape of her ribcage and pelvis indicate that
she most likely had a quite large belly, like a modern ape, evidence to a relatively low quality,
high bulk diet. Due to her diet this would of given her a thicker waist, which most likely would
have impeded her flexibility, secondly her high shoulders and the shape of her torso meant she
would most likely not of been able to swing her arms like a human when running. All these
answers are due to her skeleton being so complete; Lucy gave the world an extraordinary picture
of her kind. In 1974, she exposed that human ancestors were up and walking around way before
the first stone tools were made, as fossil finding of much earlier bipedal hominids have deep rooted
that conclusion. Bipedalism, it seems, was the initial stage towards becoming

Horniman Horticulture Case
Case #9:
HORNIMAN HORTICULTURE
Synopsis and Objectives
This case captures the problems concerning cash flow and working capital management typical of
small, growing businesses. At the end of 2005, Bob and Maggie Brown have completed their third
year of operating Horniman Horticulture, a $1 million revenue woody shrub nursery in central
Virginia. While experiencing booming demand and improving margins, the Browns are puzzled by
their plummeting cash balance. The case highlights the difference between cash flow and
accounting profits, as well as the common negative effects of growth on cash flow. It also provides
a forum for instilling appreciation for the relevance of free cash flow to business owners and
managers, introducing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
b. Reduce investment Improve receivable collection time. Horniman is well above industry norms.
One can question the wisdom of growing the small nursery business, which appears to require
generous financing terms. Improve inventory days. This is part of Horniman s business; it is
unclear whether the inventory can be improved, particularly if they are moving to more mature
plants. The analysis to make this trade off is similar to that of the payables policy. One would
divide the expected margin gain by the increase in inventory levels to compute a marginal return
on capital. One additional level of concern is the substantial additional risk associated with
increasing inventory when facing uncertainty with respect to the effects of interest rates and
adverse weather. Reduce investment in net fixed assets. Horniman already seems to be operating
efficiently. NFA turnover has increased strongly over the past year; in fact, there is valid concern
that capital expenditures are going to need to increase going forward. c. Increase business
financing Debt or equity financing. With annual free cash flow reaching levels of в€’$278,000, the
business is burning a lot of cash. One should expect that if nothing is done to the business model,
debt requirements will become larger and larger. It is unclear whether Maggie is interested in
leveraging the business and risking possible default with an adverse weather event.

Analysis Of Erik Erickson s Eight Stages Of Psychosocial...
In this paper I will discuss Erik Erickson s eight stages of Psychosocial Development. My paper will
look at each stage in depth and when you re done reading them, you will have a broader
understanding of each stage in detail.
Every person has their own identity that makes them who they are today as a person. People also
have different personality traits that make every person different from each other in their own way.
Erik Erikson came up with the Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development for people to figure
out how to adjust their own life. Also, Erik Erickson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial
Development helps us figure out who we are as a person. If there is a crisis in our life, then Erik
Erickson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development will help us figure out how to solve the
issue. The first stage of Erik Erickson Psychosocial Development is Trust vs Mistrust. The first
stage happens at the age of infancy to about eighteen months old. Infants learn how to trust
others, even when people are caring for the baby s basic needs. According to the website called
Psychology Notes, it stated that At this stage, infants must learn how to trust others, particularly
those who are care for their basic needs. (https://www.psychologynoteshq.com/erikerikson/) Also,
Infants may sense some threats in the world that could replace the trust that they are starting to
develop with the people around them. First, people should start to instill a since of comfort in
their infants to start building their trust because of the level of care they are providing. Parents
will always provide their babies food, shelter, clothes, and water to make sure the child feels
comfortable and secure. From this stage, hope is starting to develop and is another part of the
Trust vs. Mistrust stage. During this stage, when infants are in a crisis, they hope that there is
someone there for support so they don t feel alone while dealing with their issue. The second stage
of Erik Erickson Theory of psychosocial development is Autonomy vs Shame and Doubt. The
second stage happens at the age of eighteen months to three years old. With this stage, children will
start teaching themselves how to take care themselves. If children can t take care

Anne Moody s Autobiography Coming of Age in Mississippi Essay
I couldn t believe it, but it was the Klan blacklist, with my picture on it. I guess I must have sat
there for about an hour holding it, says Moody in her autobiography Coming of Age in
Mississippi. In Moody s response to the blacklist, one pervasive theme from her memoir becomes
evident: though she participated in many of the same activist movements as her peers, Moody is
separated from them by several things, chief among them being her ability to see the events of the
1960s through a wide, uncolored perspective (pun intended). Whereas many involved on either
side of the civil rights movement became caught up in its objectives, Moody kept a level head and
saw things as honestly as she could, even if it meant thinking negatively of her... Show more content

While playing, she looks over her white friend s privates, and, as is explained in the book, thinks
I examined each of them three times, but I didn t see any differences. I still hadn t found that
secret. Even as a child, Moody is bright enough to question the role of race in her society. In Part
2 Teenage years Moody continues to push at the boundaries of society post childhood, which
lead to her getting involved in activist causes as a teen. After the wife of a Klan member
mentions the NAACP, Moody asks her mother to tell her more about the organization. Her
mother responds with scorn to the situation, refusing to tell her daughter about the NAACP and
also telling her never to ask any white person about it either. Nonetheless, Moody asks another
adult about the organization and eventually gets a full five hours of history on the movement.
Moody s newfound knowledge of the NAACP made her more aware of the time in which she
was living; in a sense, gaining a broader world view. She more or less says as much in her
memoir when she writes I couldn t go on pretending I was dumb and innocent, pretending I didn t
know what was going on. At the time, these views set her apart from not only her classmates, but
her family as well. In Part 3 College Prior to her attendance at her first NAACP convention Moody
received a condemning letter from her mother, telling her that she is foolish for getting involved

Paleolithic Religious Behavior Essay
Religious behaviors developed to what they are today beginning in the pre historic times of the
Paleolithic, Mesolithic, and the Neolithic. There is evidence of these behaviors in the
archaeological artifacts as well as mythological evidence. Religious behaviors evolved as humans
evolved.
Religious beliefs changed too. In the Paleolithic we learn that people were very spiritual;
everything was treated as a spiritual act. They approached everything ritualistically and their
behaviors were in response to the numinous. The numinous is described as a feeling you get when
you can t explain something. There is archaeological evidence pointing to animal worship during
this time too. Spiritual beliefs in the Paleolithic gave way to forms of ... Show more content on

The myths suggest that the three cultures (farmers, herders, and hunters), came from the three
sons of Noah. Prior to that, in the myth of the First Family, there were two types of people, or
two different cultures. There was Cain, who was a farmer, a tiller of the ground, and his brother
Abel, who was a herder, or keeper of the flock. In a later myth we are introduced to Nimrod, who
was a hunter, thus rounding out the three groups.
Those three groups had their own set of religious behaviors. Those behaviors included animal
sacrifice, human sacrifice, ritual sex, and ritual abstinence. Other behaviors emerged that may not
be considered religious behaviors but instead, ways of life , but are worth mentioning since they
developed over time along with the religious behaviors and played a major role in the lives of the
early humans and shaping evolution. Those ways of life include: shamanism, priesthood,
matriarchy, patriarchy, Apollonian and Dionysian. We can better understand the religious behaviors
of the different cultures only after we identify the pattern of culture, or traits, each one exhibited.
The patterns of culture are associated with the characteristics in the distinction between the gods
Apollo and Dionysius. Apollo was the god of light and Dionysius was the god of wine. Therefore,
the characteristics are referred to as Apollonian and Dionysian. During the Mesolithic, Dionysian
tendencies gave way to Apollonian tendencies.

  • 2. Case Study Patient Referral Patient Referral Case Study The referral of a patient to care outside of your practice is an importance decision for a primary care manager (PCM) in the care of their beneficiaries. The referral decision must include not only whether that patient would be best since by a specialist, but by which specialist (Kinchen, Cooper et al. 2004) the beneficiary would best benefit. In order to ensure the best care from the specialist effective patient information must be exchanged between care providers in a timely manner. Health Information Exchange (HIE), which is also known as Summary of Care , is an objective that is required for eligible professionals (EPs), eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) that are taking part of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program from 2015 until 2017 under Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2). The objective contains one required measure for participation in the program. The measure is: certified EHR technology (CEHRT) must be used to create a summary of care record which is to be used transmit care information between entities involved in the care of the patient referred (Services 2016). The items that must be included in the Summary of Care documents, provided the referring provider knows the information, are shown in Table 1 (Mostashari 2012, Services 2016). Currently the standard format that has been adopted for Summary of Care documents follows Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (C CDA) guidelines. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Cold Equation By Tom Godwin Summary Fall 2017 Dialogue Assignment The Cold Equations is a short story written by Tom Godwin. Barton is a character on a different planet and is an EDS pilot. EDS are used for emergencies and other calls that are urgent. In Barton s case he is flying towards Wooden, which is a planet, where six men have been stranded, struck with a fever that could kill them without the right serum, which they did have but with their luck, it was destroyed by a tornado. Barton s mission is to fly back to earth, get the serum and then fly to Wooden. The only problem with the EDS is that it is very small and stores just enough fuel to get to the destination and back. Any other mass weight which was not calculated for could crash the plane. While Barton was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Me: He is right, there was a big sign that said to stay out. There should have been a better warning, my poor girl just wanted to see her brother who she hasn t seen in 10 years. Barton should have been more careful and checked EVERYWHERE to make sure that no one was on the ship. Jan Narveson: It was right front of her eyes, she should have realized that this was not a place for her to be in, no matter what the situation is. If she wanted to see her brother she should have just waited to see him. Marilyn s Mom: Marilyn obviously did not know the consequences, it is much different on earth! Nothing is this harsh and so very cruel. I know my little girl and she would not go in there if she knew that she was going to die. Well, think about this, what if the sign had been changed and said: COME ON IN, WE WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR DESTINATION. Would you have killed her then? It would be all your fault if she had walked in if the sign were to say that. Me: Well that would make her 100% innocent, but if she is all sweet and innocent we would hope that she would know that the right thing to do would be to sacrifice herself, to save Barton and the 6 other men. Jan Narveson: That s right, it s either Marilyn stays alive for a few more hours and they all die, or just Marilyn dies and the others are saved. She should know what ... • 4. The Embryonic Stem Cell Conflict Essay Many of the criticisms directed towards the advent of stem cell research have centered on the source of the most scientifically useful types of stem cells pre implantation human embryos. Unfortunately, harvesting embryonic stem cells typically results in the destruction of the embryo from which they are harvested, which gives rise to a moral dilemma: is it ethically acceptable to destroy an embryo s potential to life? Those who are against human embryonic stem cellresearch will answer you with an emphatic no ; they usually argue much like pro lifers ...human embryos have an equal standing to all living persons... and destroying them is akin to murder (Hyuu 71). However, to halt stem cellresearch solely because an embryo has the potential... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Alenzi, Stem cells are immature, unspecialized cells that their developmental direction has not yet been determined (19929), and because they do not yet serve any meaningful purpose, stem cells are capable of becoming virtually any specialized cell in the body; they can become nerve cells, blood cells, skin cells, and just about any other cell you can think of. There is a variety of sources from which stem cells may be obtained. These sources include (but are not limited to): human embryos, the blood from the umbilical cord, and even various organs from full grown adults. However, as I have mentioned before, the controversy emanates from the fact that human embryos are the preferred source for stem cells, due to their vast regenerative capabilities. While it is possible to safely harvest stem cells from full grown adults (adult stem cells), the stem cells harvested would lack the pluripotency (ability to become any specialized cell) of embryonic stem cells; whereas embryonic stem cells can differentiate into any cell, adult stem cells can only become specialized cells from the tissue in which they reside (multipotency). For example, hematopoietic stem cells found in the bone marrow of adults can become all mature blood cell types, but cannot become muscle cells or any other type of cell found in the body. Similar to adult stem cells, most of the other sources ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gender Roles During The Reconstruction Era In an article by Gizelis, the authors states Civil wars destroy the previous social, economic, and political structures, and lead to tremendous changes in individual social identities and cultural practices. Many of the standard patriarchal gender roles remained the same in the Reconstruction such as the woman took care of the house and children while the men were the breadwinners and in control. The difference is in this period, freed African American men adopted the gender roleof Caucasian men, and women began to fight for the chance of an education and the right to vote. • 6. Update the Recurring Sin Tax Law that Was Newly... Rationale of the Study This study was drawn to update the recurring sin tax law that was newly implemented by the President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino by assessing its effect to the consumers of sin products and has given fruitful grounds and suggestions for future research in this field. In belief, the purpose of the imposition of excise tax on sin products is to raise revenues and discouraging the consumption of the tobacco products and alcoholic beverages. It is claimed that higher excise taxes on tobacco will make some smokers to quit, and reduce consumption of continuing smokers, and prevent others from starting (Sunley, 2009). Because the demand for cigarettes is relatively price inelastic, the expectation is that higher taxes will yield higher revenues in the near term while preventing smoking in the longer term. If a tax is imposed on a good, verbally express excise taxes on alcohol or tobacco, it may possibly have influenced the decision of how many to consume and make efficiency cost (Badenes PlГЎ Jones, 2003). In contrast, according to McGee (2000), liquor and cigarettes are had insensitive to changes of price that many of the consumers of sin products continue to buy it regardless of the increase in its prices. Then, it becomes usual that there will be a protest on excise tax for the reason that this sin tax law will not cause a reduction to their demand in sin products. • 7. Trials And Tribulations In Mental Health It has been noted by many that it is important for us to understand that the present is directly influenced by the past and it will directly influence the future. If we are to ignore the events that have led us to where we are then we are destined to repeat our often tragic and ill fated past. We also have no way of truly making a difference in the field of mental health if we are unable to build upon both the successes and the failures of those who have come before us (Gerig, 2014). This paper examines some of the literature written to detail the trials and tribulations in the mental health field from the early Greek times to presentday in the hopes of gaining some perspective on both the pastand the present treatments of and for the... This is of particular importance as Оџ ОјОµОіО¬О»ОїП‚ ОјО±П‚ О±ОґОµПЃП†ПЊП‚ is the only text published in the first period the metapolitefsi which does mention the existence of Nazi concentration camps. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In both books the Germans are portrayed in a neutral way and the words soldiers , occupiers , occupation troops , foreigners and enemies are amongst those employed by the authors to refer to the Germans. What differentiates Sfaelou s and Skandalis s narratives from those that have talked about so far, however, is that both writers make use of the term Nazis , while in one of Skandalis s short stories the term Third Reich also comes across. Nonetheless, none of the writers provide any further explanations, either in the narrative text or in the paratext, which would help the young reader to put the terms in question into their historical and ideopolitical context. Furthermore, none of the authors are concerned to distinguish between Germans as a national group and Nazis as a group of supporters of a certain ideological doctrine and in both texts the word Nazi is used as an alternative word for Germans . Since no distinctions are made between Germans and Nazis, the switching between the two words renders them synonymous. Sadly, they are additionally the weapon of selection for crooks. Since handguns are simple for delinquents to take, handguns are easily accessed on the black market; this makes handguns appealing for crooks. The majority of crimes involving guns are committed with the usage of a handgun; this is a serious issue in America today. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the point when an individual is mindful and prepared properly, handguns are effortlessly the best type of self preservation, and a handgun ban removes this alternative from them. John Stossel (2008), clarifies that laws against firearms are truly laws against self preservation, and required weapon free zones are in reality free wrongdoing zones. Handgun bans won t prevent criminals from obtaining weapons; they will, be that as it may, keep a well behaved resident from purchasing a firearm for self preservation (pg.21). While he might be somewhat extraordinary in expressing that laws against weapons are laws against self protection, he makes a decent point. Forbidding handguns leaves subjects with less self protection choices. At the point when individuals are stripped of the best type of self preservation, they are helpless, and this is a major issue. Stossel is accurate about firearm bans keeping decent citizens from utilizing weapons in self protection, and this gives the preferred standpoint to the criminal. A well behaved citizen won t overstep the law and claim a handgun in the event that they are restricted, yet a criminal will. In the event that an individual tries to rob a bank or murder somebody, he or she is not going to be stressed over breaking a firearm mandate. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All the authors wrote about different points, using terms such as formal and informal colonies, settler mortality rate, modernization and dependency theory, the scramble for Africa, and more. They each have different arguments but all accurately mention the strong after effects colonialismand imperialism have on formerly conquered states. These processes are exploitative, hinder state growth, and create devastating and long term problems. Contrasted with formal empires, which have territories directly under control of the colonizer, informal empires control countries indirectly by using their economies. A notable example of this would be India during British imperialism. Before India was even a colony, it was controlled through the British East India Company, which eventually did turn into direct colonization. Informal empires are generated because many developing countries are forced to rely on a major power in order to be economically stable. Another author, Walter Rodney, similarly agrees that this system is unfair. His dependency theory, which counteracts Rostow s modernization theory, states that many struggling countries will never get to fully develop because rich states will always find a way to get richer, making poor states poorer. This unjust system is often the lingering effect of imperialism and colonization because a formerly controlled country still relies on their mother country even after they gain ... The Difference Between Brutus and Cassius in William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar In Shakespeare s Julius Caesar , Brutus and Cassius are contrasting characters. They differ in the way they perceive Antony as a threat to the assassination plot, their dominance in personality, and their moral obligation. In Julius Caesar, Brutus is the more naГѓВЇve, dominant and noble character, while Cassius is the more perceptive, submissive, and manipulative person. When Brutus gives Antony the right to speak at Caesar s funeral, Cassius pulls Brutus aside and says, You know not what you do. Do not consent that Antony speak in [Caesar s] funeral. Know you how much the people may be moved/ by that which [Antony] will utter? Cassius sees that Antony is a powerful speaker and that if Antony speaks the people will side with him. This shows that Cassius has a much better idea of how dangerous Antony is. Although Cassius is correct on how dangerous Antony really is, Brutus ideas are used because Brutus is the more dominant character. In the play Cassius is the more passive character and Brutus, the more authoritative. This is exemplified when Brutus and Cassius are arguing about allowing Cicero joining the assassination conspiracy. Cassius thinks that Cicero is a good and honorable man that should be included, but as soon as he nominates Cicero to join the group, Brutus steps in and says, O, name him not! Let us not break with him, for he will never follow anything that other men begin . Instead of contesting Brutus, Cassius just lets it pass and concedes to not permitting Cicero to join the group. • 12. Martin Luther And The Protestant Reformation In the early days of November 10, 1483, Martin Luther was born in Eisleben, Saxony, in modern southeast Germany and it was an extremely tense world. But on the other hand great changes were waiting around the corner, and Luther too, would take a part in these changes. On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther, angry with Pope Leo X s new round of indulgences to help build St. Peter s Basilica, nailed a sheet of paper with his 95 Theses on the University of Wittenberg s chapel door. Martin Luther was a German monk who began the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, becoming one of the most influential and controversial figures in Christian history. Luther called into question some of the basic tenets of Roman Catholicism, and his followers soon split from the Roman Catholic Church to begin the Protestant tradition. The first few years of monastic life were difficult for Martin Luther, as he did not find the religious enlightenment he was seeking. A mentor told him to focus his life exclusively on Christ and this would later provide him with the guidance he sought. At age 27, Luther was given the opportunity to be a delegate to a Catholic church conference in Rome. He came away more disillusioned, and very discouraged by the immorality and corruption he witnessed there among the Catholic priests. Upon his return to Germany, he enrolled in the University of Wittenberg in an attempt to suppress his spiritual turmoil. He excelled in his studies and received a doctorate, ... Narrating The Nation Picasso And The Myth Of El Greco Robert Lubar s essay Narrating the Nation: Picasso and the Myth of El Greco discusses the aftermath of the bloody Spanish American war resulting in El Desastre del 98 in Spain which rocked the national psyche into a period of cultural dissonance. Following the Disaster, the nation quickly found itself in an agitated period of conflicting ideas and divisive discourses, specifically between Madrid and Catalonia. Essentially, class divisions, regional differences, and this lack of national identity was what gave way to the Myth of El Grecoin fin de sГЇecle Spain. If there is anything that has become clear to me, it is that temporality and tradition, progressivism and modernity, all exist in an intertextual phenomena within, in relation, and in conversation with each other. As Unanomo and Ganivet pointed out in their writings, tradition simultaneously informs, and is formed by, the present . During the era of regeneration, Castille rushed to codify culture within their targeted political positions which could be considered as a push against the State due to political corruption, whereas Catalonia urged a reform of economy and political culture, their position was precisely a call to the government to amend that which they had ... • 17. The Rise And Fall Of Egyptian Independence INTRODUCTION Egypt was formally incorporated into the Roman Empire in 30BC resulting in the loss of Egyptian independence. Egypt had experienced years of political upheaval owing to sibling rivalry and native unrest (Wilkinson, 2010), well before Rome was interested in seizing the country. This allowed for the weakening of the country, which consequentially made it easily conquered. However, Egypt s loss of independence was ultimately prompted by the relationship between Cleopatra VII and Marc Anthony therefore making it the immediate catalyst (Jankowski, 2000). When analyzing to what extent was the relationship between Cleopatra VII and Marc Anthony the catalyst for the loss of Egyptian independence in 30BC the aim is to extract scholarly research findings that relate specifically to the research question and thus assist with an examination of the aforementioned question. However, the Hunger Artist in Kafka s A Hunger Artist places a different, more complex meaning to this word, making the Hunger Artist s name rather ironic. The hunger of the Hunger Artist is not for food. As described at the end of the essay, the Hunger Artist states that he was in fact never hungry, he just never found anything that he liked. So then, what does this man s hunger truly mean? What drives the Hunger Artist to fast for so long, if he is truly not hungry? (Kafka, 256). The Hunger artist was addicted to fame, and made every attempt to show off his skill. It seems ironic, however, that when his fans were near him, he would show no effort to interact with the crowd. No stories, jokes, or anything of the like with which shared with the watchmen. Instead, he seemed to take the fans for granted, almost treating the fans as if they were weak and unimportant, ? occasionally even stretching his arm through the bars to let them feel how skinny he was, but then again withdrawing completely to himself, paying attention to no one.? (Kafka, 256) The Hunger Artist assumes that the crowd will always be there, witnessing and admiring his skills, constantly wondering, ?How does he do it?? So, as time goes on, the hunger artist becomes more and more expecting of his crowd, hungering more and more for the fame and love that his fans seemed to give. Unfortunately, every star, no ... In ancient civilizations, stone carving, wall printing, and oral noticing were the most common form of advertising. Egyptian Pharaohs used carved iron plates for public notices. Archaeologists in Thebes, Egypt discovered a 3000 year old public advertisement that offered a reward for runaway slave. Old Greeks employed wall paintings for theater play ads, and papyrus sheets to advertise lost and found items. Romans in the first century A.D, used oral announcements to publicize the arrival of caravan supplies. Also, according to archaeological discovery in Pompeii, Italy, Romans employed written ads to promote property rentals (1). However, advertisement as a profitable industry did not start till the influx of mass media like printing, radio, and television emerged. By the invention of big plasma cable TVs equipped with child oriented programs, and the Internet, commercial ads that target children grew ubiquitously unlimited. Though some advertisements can be supportive, fast food advertisements that target children should be prohibited as they cause unhealthy habit to children and induce parent child conflicts. Foremost fast food advertisers employ several strategies to influence children. First fast food advertisers use cartoon images embodied with brand to make their product more attractive to children. Let the test tube sit undisturbed for 2 5 minutes. You should begin to see air bubbles form at the boundary line between the ethanol and the filtered fruit solution. Bubbles will form near the top, and you will eventually see the DNA float to the top of the ethanol. Gently insert the stir stick into the test tube. Slowly raise and lower the tip several times to spool and collect the DNA. If there is an insufficient amount of DNA available, it may not float to the top of the solution in a form that can be easily spooled or removed from the tube. However, the DNA will still be visible as white/clear clusters by gently stirring the solution and pushing the clusters around the top. Post Lab Questions What is the texture and consistency of the DNA DNA is viscous and greasy. Why did we use a salt in the extraction solution High salt makes DNA less soluble in water. In order to dissolve, the water needs to interact with the DNA. Since DNA is quite large, it needs to interact with lots of water for this purpose. When you add salt, the water preferentially interacts with the salt (its small, and can move around in solution easier than the DNA can). This makes it so there is less water available to interact with the DNA and it becomes less soluble. Is the DNA soluble in the aqueous solution or alcohol DNA is less soluble in an alcohol such as isopropanol than it is in water. This is because alcohols are non polar, whereas water is polar. It is for this reason that the lies are so close to us. There are different levels of lies, and none of them is okay, not even the white little lie. A white lie is a lie that offers consolation and a false belief of security. The best cover up of the lie is the absence of truth. The absence of truth is a lie that is harder to see through but to defraud, and omission of information as a tool to fool us from the truth is a lie straight through. • 34. The Characteristics Of Creon For King In Oedipus The King Creon for King All is not well in Thebes. A mystery is in the process of being solved as the people of Thebes suffer. In Sophocles Greek tragedy, Oedipus Rex, Thebes is being punished by the gods for a crime committed far in the past. The city of Thebes is cursed with a plague until the murderer of Laius is discovered and banished from the land. As Creon and Oedipus work to save Thebes, their different qualities show who is a better fit to be king. Oedipus saved Thebes once from the sphinx; however, Oedipus qualities of being arrogant, intense, and stubborn cause him to foil with Creon s character traits of being selfless, calm, and forgiving. According to Merriam Webster, a leader is someone who leads or guides. Because Creon s character traits portray a desirable leader, Creon is a better fit to be king of Thebes. Oedipus is quick to display his arrogance shortly after being informed of the troubles facing Thebes, which highlights Creon s selfless actions. As the play opens, a plague is upon Thebes. Broken but hopeful, people cling to the altars of the gods. Oedipus appears and evaluates the scene of people kneeling at the altars, pleading for deliverance from the hard times bearing Thebes. Oedipus then confidently announces, Here I am myself you all know me, the world knows my fame: I am Oedipus (7 9). By Oedipus making this bold remark, he is expressing his pride in himself. As King of Thebes, Oedipus is looked up to in times of hardship to guide the people, but in this part of the play, his arrogance is more notable than his heroic actions. Later, while addressing the citizens of Thebes, Oedipus shares, I acted at once. I sent Creon my wife s own brother to Delphi Apollo the Prophet s oracle to learn what I might do or say to save our city (81 84). In similar words, Oedipus sent Creon to go to the Oracle instead of going himself. Without Creon being selfless and journeying to Delphi to consult the Oracle Thebes would have no guidance from the gods on how to rid the plague from Thebes. Because Creon was selfless, while Oedipus was arrogant, Creon is a better suit to be king of Thebes. As the play progresses, Creon shows other king like attributes such as his ability to be calm, while Oedipus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Populations are defined as the set of all items or individuals of interest. Samples are less time consuming than a census, less costly to administer than a census and it is possible to obtain statistical results of a sufficiently high precision based on samples. There are two types of sampling techniques, probability and non probability sampling. Probability Sampling A probability sampling method is any method of sampling that utilizes some form of random selection. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That does not mean that non probability samples do not represent the population. But it does mean that nonprobability samples cannot depend upon the rationale of probability theory. At least with a probabilistic sample, we know the odds or probability that we have represented the population well. With nonprobability samples, we may or may not represent the population well and it will b difficult to find out to what extent. We can divide nonprobability sampling methods into three types: convenience, judgement or quota. Most sampling methods are purposive in nature because we usually approach the sampling problem with a specific plan in mind. The most important distinctions among these types of sampling methods are the ones between the different types of purposive sampling approaches. Convenience sampling occurs when the sampling units are selected to suit the convenience of the researcher. Respondents are included in the sample if they happen to be in the right place at the right time. Both of them were on the hot waterless plains examining the sandy terrain when a fossil was spotted; it turned out to be an arm bone fragments on a slope. Experts claim that Lucy was in certain ways more adapted to walking vertical than a modern human , as the pelvis has to cooperate between bipedal (using only two legs for walking) movement and the capability to give birth to big brained offspring. Others talk about her arms, saying they were longer than a modern human s, and the bones of her fingers were curve, these were also seen in tree dwelling primates. This adds the question, how much did she use her climbing skills, or were they purely evolutionary remains from arboreal descendants, is a matter of debate. Although Lucy s hip and knee joints were not as specialized for a upright posture like humans, she was clearly able of walking on two feet, although running like a modern human was undoubtedly outside her capabilities. The size and shape of her ribcage and pelvis indicate that she most likely had a quite large belly, like a modern ape, evidence to a relatively low quality, high bulk diet. Due to her diet this would of given her a thicker waist, which most likely would have impeded her flexibility, secondly her high shoulders and the shape of her torso meant she would most likely not of been able to swing her arms like a human when running. All these answers are due to her skeleton being so complete; Lucy gave the world an extraordinary picture of her kind. In 1974, she exposed that human ancestors were up and walking around way before the first stone tools were made, as fossil finding of much earlier bipedal hominids have deep rooted that conclusion. My paper will look at each stage in depth and when you re done reading them, you will have a broader understanding of each stage in detail. Every person has their own identity that makes them who they are today as a person. People also have different personality traits that make every person different from each other in their own way. Erik Erikson came up with the Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development for people to figure out how to adjust their own life. Also, Erik Erickson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development helps us figure out who we are as a person. If there is a crisis in our life, then Erik Erickson s Eight Stages of Psychosocial Development will help us figure out how to solve the issue. The first stage of Erik Erickson Psychosocial Development is Trust vs Mistrust. The first stage happens at the age of infancy to about eighteen months old. Infants learn how to trust others, even when people are caring for the baby s basic needs. According to the website called Psychology Notes, it stated that At this stage, infants must learn how to trust others, particularly those who are care for their basic needs. (https://www.psychologynoteshq.com/erikerikson/) Also, Infants may sense some threats in the world that could replace the trust that they are starting to develop with the people around them. First, people should start to instill a since of comfort in their infants to start building their trust because of the level of care they are providing. Parents will always provide their babies food, shelter, clothes, and water to make sure the child feels comfortable and secure. From this stage, hope is starting to develop and is another part of the Trust vs. Mistrust stage. During this stage, when infants are in a crisis, they hope that there is someone there for support so they don t feel alone while dealing with their issue.
