Human Resources Are Responsible For Making And Driving...
1.1
A number of Human Resources objectives support organisational goals, such as profitability, business
reputation, ethics and principles according to Mayhew, R. (2014).
Human Resources are responsible for making and driving decisions to assist with the strategy of their
organisation. Each individual organisation will have their own mission and vision statements which
will outline the short term and long term objectives of the organisation and HR are responsible for
helping to successfully reach those goals.
Managing change and implementing new ideas, methods and strategies are responsibilities of the HR
Function. Forward thinking is vitally important to a successful organisation and HR will translate the
short and long term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within this era of the HR Function it would have been common practice for HR to handle recruitment,
training and to deal with trade unions.
Resources is a term used to describe the HR function towards the end of the 20th century as more
focus was given to non monetary factors for workers rather than wages as motivators to increase
productivity. There was also more focus on training and development and upskilling to get the most
out the workforce. This would play as a motivator to the employee and would be a cost saving
exercise for the business also.
Valuable Assets is a term used to describe the current HR Function due to the added responsibility and
power the function now has in addition to the Resources term of the HR Function. This is based partly
on the advancement of technology and globalisation. The current HR Function also specialise in
fostering a culture in organisations and shaping strategies to assist organisations in reaching their
mission and vision statements.
At the end of the 19th century) This was mostly women campaigning for better working conditions for
other women and girls in industrial working places.
(During the First World War)This was in agreement with the Trade Unions and at times led to very
bitter disputes. After The First Word War, workers rights and formal rights emerged. These rights
emerged to help solve problems, develop scientific knowledge and deal with ethical issues according
to Duggan, T. (2014).

The Voting Age
In the article Why We Should Lower the Voting Age to 16, Laurence Steinberg asserts that teenagers
deserve more than just a voice to make a change but a right to vote (Steinberg). He elaborates on how
teenagers are qualified to vote because their minds are fully developed enough to make good choices.
Steinberg believes that teenagers have the responsibility to vote because currently the teens right now
are having a thoughtful, eloquent protest.
Steinberg insists that the federal voting age in the United States should be lowered from 18 to 16
(Steinberg). Steinberg uses hypophora and logistical evidence to create his empathetic tone. To start
his claim, Steinberg uses an hypophora to to question if young people [are] notoriously ... Show more

Because this question would be posed by skeptics and he later on validates his answer to counteract
those people, he strengthened his claim by removing doubt from his claim. Steinberg is seen as
understanding to the teens when he poses that question which creates his empathetic tone. His tone
and the hypophora combined only bolsters his argument. Moreover, he switches to logistical evidence
to back up his hypophora. He states that Cold cognitive abilities are skills that lead people to reason
logically with facts and that they are firmly in place by [the age] 16 (Steinberg). Steinberg s
incorporation of logic in his article not only made an emphasis on that his claim his correct and
supported by factual studies, but it also adds to his empathetic tone because he can be seen as
understanding of teenagers by disregarding stereotypical information with statistics. In addition to,
Steinberg goes back to using hypophora in the final parts of his article to establish his point once more
and build his tone. Steinberg questions Why is higher turnout among 16 and 17 year olds so
important? Because there is evidence that people who don t vote the first time they are eligible are less
likely to vote regularly in the

Analysis Of The Pica Coffee Co. 2015 Annual Report
After reading the content for the Pica Coffee Co. 2015 Annual Report, their coffee was what resonated
with me. They go into great detail about how they grow and prepare their coffee, and how there s
nothing else like it. Which is why the concept is based off of their coffee.
The concept created for the report as a whole is: Pica coffee, and how good it really is. Like it says in
the text. Good coffee. Really, really good coffee.
To build on the concept, I thought it was important to incorporate coffee into the design as much as
possible. Which is why the whole report appears to have coffee stains throughout each page.
Signifying that their coffee is so good, that people just can t go without it; which is why there are

The Decision Between Quantitative And Qualitative Data
One of the most important parts of establishing a research design involves the decision between
quantitative and qualitative data. Each has its own strength and weaknesses that any successful
research design must account for. Perhaps one of the easiest distinctions between the two rests in the
sample size. While quantitative data normally involves a large n, or sample size, qualitative data
involves a much smaller sample size in comparison. This smaller sample size allows qualitative
researchers to focus more on each case, increasing the internal validity of the research, but limiting its
external validity. Quantitative based research designs reverse this. The large sample size of
quantitative data often makes it difficult for researches to establish causation among the independent
and dependent variable(s). The external validly of such designs usually offsets this issue to some
extent. Due to their large nature, and use of numerical data, quantitative research is much more
replicable when compared to their qualitative counterparts. Unfortunately, the struggle between
internal and external validity is a fundamental part of research. Even efforts to combine the two
methods to form a mixed methods research design ultimately fail to nullify the issue completely.
Keeping this in mind, a quantitative analysis is the most logical given the specific research question
and the data available. This chapter seeks to prove that there is a statistically significant difference in

The Motor Effect
2.1 Motors use the effect of forces on current carrying conductors in magnetic fields
2.1.1 The motor effect
The motor effect is where a force acts on a current carrying conductor in a magnetic field.
The right hand palm rule is used to find certain properties: fingers point to magnetic field, thumb
points in DC direction and palm points to direction of the force.
2.1.2 Factors affecting the force acting on the current carrying conductor Forces are experienced by
the electrons in the conductor and are affected by: * Length of conductor (longer conductor means
more electrons hence more electrons experiencing the force) * Strength of magnetic field (more force
on electrons) * Amount of current in conductor (more current ... Show more content on

ie there is a change of magnetic flux through a circuit. Faraday s experiment: Connect a coil of many
turns to a zero centered galvanometer. Move a small magnet in and out of the coil and we can observe
a small current is produced when the magnet is moved but no current when there was no movement.
By varying the speed (relative motion) of the movement and strength of magnet, the galvanometer
flickered more therefore more current produced. Distance also affects this.
2.2.2 Magnetic field strength and magnetic flux density Magnetic flux density (B) is a measure of the
number of lines of force per unit area. It is also equivalent to the strength of the magnetic field and is
measured in Weber (Wb)
2.2.3 Magnetic flux Magnetic flux (φ) is a measure of the number of lines of force emerging through
an area. It is the product of magnetic flux density and area : φ=BA measured in Webers (Wb)
2.2.4 Size of the induced emf The induced emf is proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux
through the circuit.
2.2.5 Len s Law Len s law: the direction of the induced emf is such that it opposes the change that
produced it. Len s law is a consequence of the law of conservation of energy because if the induced
emf aided the motion, then the conductor would accelerate causing a greater emf, which would cause
further acceleration, etc ... an infinite amount of energy would be created.

Artificial Neural Networks ( Ann )
CHAPTER 5 Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) 5.1 Machine Learning In machine learning, systems
are trained to infer patterns from observational data. A particularly simple type of pattern, a mapping
between input and output, can be learnt through a process called supervised learning. A supervised
learning system is given training data consisting of example inputs and the corresponding outputs, and
comes up with a model to explain those data (a process called function approximation). It does this by
choosing from a class of model specified by the system s designer. [Nature. ANN 4] 5.1.1 Machine
Learning Applied to the Air Engine The rapid growth of data sets means that machine learning can
now use complex model classes and tackle highly non trivial inference problems. Such problems are
usually characterized by several factors: The data are multi dimensional; the underlying pattern is
complex (for instance, it might be nonlinear or changeable); and the designer has only weak prior
knowledge about the problem in particular, a mechanistic understanding is lacking. [Nature, ANN 4]
5.2 Overview of ANN Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) are a branch of the field known as Artificial
Intelligence (AI) which may also consists of Fuzzy logic (FL) and Genetic Algorithms (GA). ANN are
based on the basic model of the human brain with capability of generalization and learning. The
purpose of this simulation to the simple model of human neural cell is to acquire the intelligent

The Incomparable Stupa in India is the biggest and most punctual Stupa in India. It is worked with a
structural outline, which speak to the consecrated entombment site of Buddha. The Incomparable
Stupa is both the entombment site and the image speaking to Buddha. As demonstrated by the site

but instead to give his closeness with clues and pictures, for instance, walks, throne, or wheel. Stupa

Strategies Of A 2-Level Model
We used multilevel modeling (MLM; Hox, 2002; Raudenbush Byrk, 2002) to evaluate the efficacy of
feedback. MLM was used due to the nested data structure (i.e., clients nested within therapists). Given
this, the assumption of independent observations is not met which can result in increase of Type I error
rates; therefore, traditional analytical strategies such as analysis of variance are not appropriate.
Specifically, MLM permits us to control for the variance effects from therapists to evaluate the effects
of client feedback at the client level. We also will be able to see if the rates of change for each
treatment condition were different.
Using an ANCOVA like strategy, we constructed a 2 level model (client within therapist) ... Show

We also replicated this model to evaluate the effects of feedback on clients who were identified as not
on track.
Effects of Client Feedback on Outcome All Clients Descriptive statistics are shown in Table 1. The
results from the covariate only model (Equation 1) are shown in Table 2. This baseline model
estimated covariance parameters to compute an intraclass coefficient (ICC) to determine the amount
of variability at the therapist level. The ICC showed that less than 1% of the variance (.02) was
accounted for by therapist outcome differences, which is smaller than other PCOMS studies that
evaluated therapist effects (Anker et al., 2009; Reese et al., 2011). The covariate only model indicates
a significant positive slope (10 = .26, p .001) between initial ORS scores and post ORS scores across
clients. This indicated that ORS scores significantly improved for all clients from pre to post
treatment, with the average post ORS for clients equal to 29.31 (00). The standardized mean effect
size from pre to post ORS was 1.38.
The ANCOVA model included the treatment condition (FEEDBACK) as a predictor to the first model
as shown in Equation 2. We refer to this as an ANCOVA model given that we are evaluating the
differences in slopes for each treatment condition while controlling for initial ORS scores. Clients in
the feedback condition demonstrated significantly more improvement

China s Republic Of China
INTRODUCTION OF CHINA
Known fully as the people s republic of China, this country has improved vastly in terms of economic
progress in the past decades. With 93% of its population being Han Chinese, China also has 55 other
ethnic minorities. This percentage totals up to 1.37 billion people, making China the country with the
largest population in the world. The population of China is rather unevenly distributed into 23
different provinces and each province is governed by a local government. China has the second
highest GDP in the world of 19.24trillion USD and this figure is increasing rapidly. With over 3000
years of written history, China is also one of the oldest country in the world. During this 3000 years,
China experienced imperial rule up till the last century when the last dynasty, the Qing Dynasty ended.
With this long history, China also faced numerous rebellions, overthrowing of dynasties, wars and
other disasters. However, its people persevered and hence also help build a prosperous country we
know as China today.
ETHICAL AND MORAL NORMS
With a long history, China has many cultural and ethical norms as well. Many of these appear
controversial but one could unravel the reasons behind their doings by having a more in depth
knowledge of their culture. One norm this report will be covering will be bribery. In recent years,
many top notched officials were arrested in an effort by Chinese leader Xi Jin Ping to eradicate

Sir Isaac Newton Essay example
Why do things fall when we drop them? How come we do not float as we would on the moon? Where
do the colors of a rainbow come from? How long would it take to drive across Colorado if you are
constantly changing speeds? All of these questions can now be answered, largely impart because of
the great English philosopher, Sir Isaac Newton. In a time where religion was at war with science,
Isaac Newton opened up people s minds to theories and reason. Isaac Newton was to be the starburst
of the Enlightenment. He became the foundation of enlightened thought. It was the 17th century, the
time of the Scientific Revolution. Many brilliant men contributed to this time, but it was Newton who

But how was he to figure out where the object would be if it constantly sped up or slowed down?
Where would the object be if it traveled around curves? This is the concept of calculus. Using his
knowledge of algebra, Newton set out to find the value of an unknown number that kept changing. He
did this by figuring out that the integration of a function was simply the inverse of differentiating it.
Newton had just developed a method for finding changing and flowing quantities (Margaret, 42). He
had just invented calculus. Newton went even further after this. With the use of calculus, he was able
to find the area under an open curve known as a hyperbola. He went on to take this answer to 52
decimal places (Margaret, 47). While Isaac Newton was very satisfied with these results, he had other
things on his mind, and he continued to amaze the world. Following his work in calculus, Isaac
Newton hardly broke stride. He continued his studies and experiments on lights and colors. In 1665,
Newton performed a number of experiments on the composition of light. With his first experiment,
Newton bought a prism. He then closed all the curtains so that he was in a darkened room. After the
room was dark, he proceeded to let a small stream of light pass through his window shuts and he
noticed that the prism broke up the white light

The largest populated country in the world lies in China, which currently contains over 1 billion
people. China is popularly known for its martial arts, famous landmarks (ex: Great Wall, Terracotta

However, many people who haven t experienced this culture may not know much of its history and its
ways.
History of the Xia Dynasty: China s long history dates back to almost 5000 years ago and have a
written past of 3000 years. In the 21st century China s first dynasty the Xia Dynasty was the first clan
to set up a government and rule over China. The beginning of the Xia Dynasty started from the

Our family allows generations to live on and new ones to be created. In China many Chinese believe
in the ways of Confucianism who believed that maintaining a healthy lifestyle starts at home.
Confucius a Chinese philosopher and teacher created the 5 relationships: ruler to subject, father to son,
older brother to younger brother, husband to wife, and senior friend to junior friend. This concept was
to show respect in how you act or acted upon to others.
1 Child Policy: During the Han Dynasty when Han was in power, farming was essential to China. So
Han encouraged families to have more children. However, this lead to overpopulation and China was
becoming too populated. In the 1970s a policy was released called the one child policy which limits 1
child per family. If this law was disobeyed the government would suggest abortion or large fees to be
paid, a pretty scary law for some families. This program was to hopefully lower and maintain the
population rate in China. Now in 2016, families can have more

Eventually, he becomes less aware of his surroundings and walks into a frigid spring. Most of his body
is cold and numb. Near the end of the story, he accepts death and admits to himself that the old timer
from Sulpher Creek was right. His dog stays until it smells the scent of death, and goes towards the

Blanche Dubois Patriarchy
Tennessee William s A Streetcar Named Desire distorts truth within Blanche s mind ( I don t tell the
truth. I tell what ought to be the truth ) to the extent that veracity itself is disintegrated unconsciously
into her inner deceptive conflict of illusion and reality. Williams externalises this conflict in the
typification of Blanche and Stanley as Nietzsche s Apollonian Dionysian dialectic in the inevitable
destruction of Blanche in her lies, coerced by women s suffering due to the onslaught of patriarchy.
Back to secrets and lies The deaths that Blanche suffers engender her characterisation as the
Apollonian in her world of delusion and lies. Allan s suicide becomes the first of Blanche s traumatic
encounters with death ( All of those deaths! The long parade to the graveyard ) embodying in her
personified monologue the imminence of death ( Why, the Grim Reaper had put up his tent on our
doorstep! ). Further, this necrophobia and her guilt for Allan s suicide, elicited by the leitmotif
Varsouviana provokes her deterioration into her fantasy as a substratum of her anguish, becoming the
epitome of the Apollonian. Moreover, Allan s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Blanche s judgement. The rape is such a powerful catalyst for Blanche s descent into madness, as she

indistinguishable from Stanley s Dionysian ecstatic realm. Ergo, she has no true escape in the rhetoric
question how could I stay here with him, after last night, with just those curtains between us? Thus,
Williams encapsulates Blanche as the exemplar of patriarchy s stigmatisation of female sickness, and
fear of feminine sexuality that threatens the balance of the household and

Reflective Essay On Religious Literacy
In a world where information can be found at our finger tips, there is still a large deficit in
understanding when it comes to literacy. Although possessing the ability to read and write is valuable,
it is simply not enough. The truth of the matter is that having the ability to read and write is worth
nothing if one does not understand what he or she is reading and writing. As a result of my childhood
experiences, religious literacy is possessing a basic understanding of one s individual religion, and
having the capacity to internalize what certain teachings and beliefs means to them. In a narrative of
my literary experiences, these moments regarding religion shaped my capacity to read, write, and
comprehend. I simply want to share my Catholic faith. Not to convince you or to convert you, but
simply to share what the Catholic traditions and beliefs mean to me.

Analysis Of British Indian Sculptor Anish Kapoor
Dhruv Setty
Analysis: Anish Kapoor
In this discussion I will be describing two works designed by British Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor.
This is followed by discussion of the two significant aspects of his work context and narrative. Born in
Mumbai, India, in 1954, to parents of Punjabi and Iraqi heritage. Anish Kapoor moved to London
early in his career to pursue studies in design. He first gained notoriety for his work in the 1980s for
creating biomorphic sculptures and installations Revered as being often profound, verging and
inspiring . Much of his work incorporates a modernist feeling. A modernist feeling of materiality with
an interest for the control of structure and the view of space. His work consists of natural figures,
using specific materials (for example, stone, limestone and marble). His models slowly extended
toward more minimalist designs (later in his career). Kapoor uses rich tones, amazingly high quality
surfaces, and uses perspectives that create optical illusions. This shows deep thinking and
understanding of space.
1000 names (Which refers in Hinduism to all the names of the god Vishnu), 1982
Pigment on gesso and wood A return trip to India in 1979 opened Kapoor s eyes to new ideas and
perspectives. These new ideas and perspectives were reflected through his use of saturated colours and
striking designs in bodies of work such as 1000 Names. The 1000 Names series consisted of

Positive Economic Changes Of Industrial Automation Essay
Positive Economic Changes of Industrial Automation by 2036 When a sect of society is faced with the
imminent reality that its lifestyle will be disrupted by the advent of the latest technology, there ensues
a massive ideological regression to the status quo. Historically, polls showed an aversion to
technology, with only 28% of adults labelling themselves as early adopters of technology (Pew
Research). A low percentage of early adopters creates a chasm of technology adoption, reinforced by
the dissent of a vocal minority of technology conservatives. This aversion to technology is not drawn
on by rational, evidence based conclusions, but rather, apocalyptic premonitions of the poorer
livelihoods of average citizens. The common fear is that automation will kill jobs and create a high
unemployment rate. Despite this hyperbolic scenario, the trope offers a starting point to analyze the
scope of economic changes that would occur during a plausible future. The current 20 year period we
live in (2016 to 2036) can be categorized as the genesis of capable, automated machines, which will
be referred to as CAMs, that can take on menial tasks currently done by humans. This does not cover

Article Analysis
In this article the author looks at the requirement analysis process by the task. There are similarities in
this model and the use case model. However in the use case model there is always a actor and one or
many use cases the actor will perform to achieve the goal.
In the task base model the task is independent of the actor. Output will be the results of the tasks after
executing. Further in this model task can be broken into sub tasks and sub tasks can be executed non
sequentially. In use case model the steps have to be executed sequentially. Further as the use case
model the pre conditions which would trigger the task to start must be captured . Moreover the
business rules and all the different variants / conditions of this tasks can be included.
Further using the task base model , all the variants associated when performing this task can be
identified . Moreover new variants can be introduced and implemented easily. Further it is very good
model of capturing the system requirements as the model provides the provision to include
quantifiable requirements. Moreover with it is nature of being close to the user s / stake holder s day to
day operations , is to identify gaps and include any missing , inaccurate requirements.

Hermit in Paris by Italo Calvino
Italo Calvino (2004) describes his perspective from a distance in Hermit in Paris ; from places he has
lived all throughout his life, the places where he has been a tourist, and a visitor. Calvino has personal
relationships with places and has a personal opinion where he believes Europe is emerging into one
single city (Calvino, 2004, p. 2). He is tolerant of other people s opinions and continues to portray his
own feelings rather than following others discretions. Most cities are known through media and books
and that s how people who have not experienced these cities see the town. You need to escape spaces
mentally and physically by connecting or disconnecting yourself from a place that does not create
happiness.
The first visit that I can recall such an impression was in my heritage landmark (Rawhiti) I got to
know what it is like was during my early teens when I attended an unveiling with my close relations. I
had imagined the place to be dirty and filthy, but it wasn t, it was just basic. I had imagined Rawhiti
through early distant memories as well as what I thought I knew from media and movies of what
remote coastal towns with a Maori population are like, I immediately pictured the movie Boy (2010)
as a similar setting to Rawhiti. I had a preconceived idea of what the community is like, part of that
community through family, but not personally as I had been away from there all my life. To me, I had
a false interpretation of this place; I used other people s

The author, Randy Roberts in his article Jack Johnson wins the Heavyweight Championship sheds
light on the fight of Jack Johnson with Tommy Burns, he highlights the racial attitude in the twentieth
century. Roberts opens his article by mentioning about the concerned whites, as the author proceeds,

The author then mentions many industries concern about the blacks being enthusiastic to enter in
boxing due to the triumph of Johnson, which may result in a shortage of labor. On the other hand, Jim
Nasium a black writer counseled many young blacks to take up boxing as a serious profession, he
believed that it is the boxing ring where blacks could face whites on an equal basis. There were many
reports implicating that Johnson had kick started the revolution.

Compare And Contrast Essay On Red Figure Ware
The two vessels referred to red figure ware seem to be created by the same person, but after analyzing
the two images more carefully with the Morellian method I have come to the conclusion that they are
not created by the same artist. The first thing that stood out to me was the border. The borders look
like they have the same pattern but they are slightly different. In image A the swirls are not connected
to each other each swirl is sprat. In image B the swirls are all connected and continuous. The quality
of the lines are also different in the borders. In image A the lines are rounder and begin and end with a
dot. In image B the lines are straighter and the dots are mostly visible in the inner part of the swirl.
The lines that go around the border are also different because in image B they are consistent Another
thing that looks similar at first glance is the hair because both guys have curly hair and they both have
an outline. The difference is that in image A the waves of the hair are more defined and rounder. The
pattern of the waves is consistent throughout the whole head. In image B the waves of the hair are not
as defined and round. The pattern of the wave s dose not continue. Instead, the hair is straight where it
meets the neck and it has a different pattern where it meets the face. The ears seem to have the ...

Comparing Huckleberry Finn And Long Walk To Freedom
Beyond a shadow of doubt, there are many lessons that I accomplished in both these books. Their
story lines are amazing and they left me with powerful messages that are can be useful in my everyday
life. Which is that freedom is for all because we are all humans, created equally, thus deserves to be
treated as such. Moreover, though these books were written in different settings, The Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn which was written when slavery was still legal and Long Walk to Freedom, which
was written secretly in prison, they remind us of identical memos about challenges and how wrong it
can be. Also, that it can lead to fatalities and terrible endings. As well as, nobody was born racism,

There are several hundred of these compounds, but not all occur in any one sample. Chemicals that
occur in TPH include hexane, benzene, toluene, xylenes, naphthalene, and fluorine, etc. The
compounds in different TPH fractions affect the body in different ways. Some of the TPH compounds,
particularly the smaller compounds such as benzene, toluene, and xylene (which are present in
gasoline), can affect the human central nervous system. If exposures are high enough, death can occur.
Breathing toluene at concentrations greater than 100 ppm for more than several hours can cause
fatigue, headache, nausea, and drowsiness. When exposure is stopped, the symptoms will go away.
However, if someone is exposed for a long time, permanent damage to the central nervous system can
occur. One TPH compound (n hexane) can affect the central nervous system in a different way,
causing a nerve disorder called peripheral neuropathy characterized by numbness in the feet and legs
and, in severe cases, paralysis. Swallowing some petroleum products such as gasoline and kerosene

Academic Self Efficacy Beliefs And Quality Of Experience
Review of an article on learning theory: Academic Self Efficacy Beliefs and Quality of Experience In
Learning INTRODUCTION Learning Theory In education and psychology, learning is generally
defined as a practice that collectively brings together emotional, cognitive and environmental
influences as well as earlier experiences for obtaining, improving, or even making changes in
someone s knowledge, values, skills and also world views (Fisher, 2005). Learning is a process that
mostly focuses on what occurs when learning happens. The explanation of what happens is
distinctively illustrated in the learning theories. A learning theory is formulated as an attempt to
describe how human beings and animals learn. This helps to understand the fundamentally complex
process of learning. These learning theories comprise of two important values (Fisher, 2005). The first
one is in providing terms and a conceptual outline for deducing the examples of learning that are
observed. The other value is important when suggesting where and how to look for solutions for
practical problems. The theories may not give the desired solutions, but they direct people s attention
to the variables that are essential when finding solutions, (Hergenhahn, 2005). Learning theory is
therefore, an abstract framework telling how information is absorbed in the brain, how it is processed
and retained during learning activities. It involves cognitive, environmental, emotional influences and

Manufacturing Consent
Manufacturing Consent Questions Avery Reyner September 30, 2012
Manufacturing Consent is a technique of control. Noam Chomsky was first introduced to this concept
from an author named Walter Lippmann who wrote about Manufacturer of Consent. Chomsky
augmented his concept to Manufacturing Concept and the philosophy has become so popular it later
became a documentary film produced by two Canadians. Noam Chomsky has been called arguably the
greatest intellectual alive (Fox, 1998) by the New York Times as he not only is a very outspoken
professor, he is also an American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, logician, historian, political

The second group is the other 80% of the population. They don t think or pay attention as astutely as
do the first 20% and their opinions and thoughts can be somewhat manipulated. According to
Chomsky, their main function is to follow orders. The consent of the people is the consent, or opinions
being manufactured by the government, and the political system. Their intentions are to manufacture
the consent of the people and make sure that their choices and attitudes are altered in such a way that
they will always do what is in the government s best interest, which often is the same interest of
corporate companies in America. This is what Chomsky meant by propaganda.
The methodology Chomsky s used in studying Manufacture of Consent is called the Propaganda
Model and it is an institutional analysis of the major media. The major media he studied consisted of
The New York Times, The Washington Post and major television channels. Chomsky evaluated them
because he believes that by selection of topics, by distribution of concerns, by emphasis and framing
of issues, by filtering of information, by bounding of debate within certain limits, they determine, they
select, they shape, they control, they restrict in order to serve the interests of dominant, elite groups in
the society. (Chomsky, 1992) He also believes that by analysing the institutions it is very obvious they

Positive And Unbeneficial Influence On Society
Within this essay I will discuss how social networking sites have both a beneficial and unbeneficial
influence on our way of life and everyday interactions within society. Social networking sites have
increased our overall social interactions as well as provided society with additional ways to build
social connections. However, for these interactions and connections to be advantageous, individuals
within society must be aware of and accept the decrease in privacy that arises with the increased social
interaction, only then will it be a benefit. Although, if individuals within society forget or do not
accept the decrease in privacy and therefore perform acts on social networking sites they may not be
fond of society seeing, this can alter their everyday interactions by making the individuals less social.
It is difficult to pinpoint how society and everyday life has changed until you view how different
everyday interactions are from ten to closer to five years ago. Recent years have shown that more than
anything else, social media has drastically impacted most of societies daily lives due to tools such as
Facebook and Twitter. Social networking communication sites have significantly altered our way of
life as well as the way we network via one another and the world around us. Here are a few areas that
social networking has reshaped in societies everyday interactions. The youth of society are most

Summer is known for freedom and romance, where winter in contrast is shown with themes of
bitterness and death. The season of the play and the themes associated with it allow the characters in
the comedy to progress in their romantic relationships. The seasons heavily affect the relationships of

the lover affairs by using a juice that causes the affected to pursue the next thing... [they] look upon...

that the two were two seeming bodies but one heart as well as their physical insecurities (3.2.212).
The women are forcing their angers on to each other both because they are angry at each other and
because of the love potion confusion and the season switch. Thomas C. Foster describes hard wired
traits of winter, which could be the season summer has been confused with by the fairies, as filled with
resentment and dissatisfaction with things life people (186). Towards the end of the comedy, the fight
between Titania and Oberon was solved, causing their negative effects in the physical world to subside
and allow the seasons to stop their dissension (2.1.116). Additionally, the fairies

Restorative Justice And Restitution Process
When we wrong someone, we seek his or her forgiveness in order for the relationship to be restored.
as noted by (What is a definition for forgiveness, n.d). It is extremely hard to forgive, it is even harder
to forgive someone who has taken a love one s life, and it is understandable for someone to be
apprehensive to restorative justice and restitution process. However, as a member of this family, it is
felt that it would be beneficial to obtain a deeper understanding restorative justice and restitution
process to determine if this is the best fit for the family.
The main priorities of restorative justice is the victims and the restoration of the community to which
the crime occurred. During earlier times restoration justice was used as a procedure to deal with
property crimes (Britto, S., Reimund, M. E., 2013). It has been said that the reason restoration justice
was used for these types of crimes were because it was easier for the offender to right their wrong
through restitution. Restorative Justice has grew increasingly throughout the criminal justice system
over the years. Now, the program is used to ignite affords of victim offender mediation and dialog
aiming to empower victims (Britto, S., Reimund, M. E., 2013). Many feel that having an open dialog
about murder or crimes in general increases the chances of restoring the community and righting the

did not see it this way and felt nobody would listen to what he wanted. He wanted the same thing as
his mother, to make an investment in his and his family s future, but he had his own idea of how to do
it. As he tries to explain to his mother, Sometimes I

Classical Conditioning Association Psychology
The classical conditioning association was made between the child and the dog. The bark of the dog is
the unconditional stimulus (US) which has caused distress to the child who now exhibits a fear of dogs
which would be the unconditional response (UR). The fear of the dog (UR) is what needs to be
changed so the child will no longer be afraid of dogs. I associated the barking of the dog (US) to the
fear of dogs by the child (UR) because every time the dog barked the child showed some sort of
anxiety either by crying, running away or hiding behind the couch. This means that an event in the
situation has produced an action which has not been learned and so it is a natural response that has not
been taught. This would be considered the before conditioning ... Show more content on

The responses created during classical conditioning are uncontrolled and are automatically made by
the human or animal being conditioned or trained. This also means that the feedback you receive from
the subject is not aware of his or her response for example when a dog salivates at the sight of food
this is uncontrolled and automatic. The child cried, ran away, and hid at the sight of the dog, his/her
responses were involuntary and were not taught to them, showing why this aspect of classical
conditioning shows why human development is based on nature. The aspect of classical conditioning
that shows that human development is based on nurture are the environmental influences from parents,
friends, teachers and anyone else they may come in contact with. Any classical conditioning that leads
to a conditioned response is related to the nurture aspect of classical conditioning. The child or animal
have acquired or learned the said behavior. An example of nurture could be the Little Albert
experiment because every time he came in contact with the white rat Watson made a loud noise
frightening little Albert therefore making Little Albert afraid of the

Pros And Cons Of Sex Selective Reduction
The Ethical Social Dilemmas of Selective Abortion In the past, if a woman was unable to get
pregnant, she had no choice but to concede to the fact. As technology has advanced women can now
employ techniques such as in vitro fertilization to achieve pregnancy. These procedures, while
promising, do not come without their consequences. It is common practice for numerous embryos to
be implanted into the woman s uterus in the hopes that at least one will survive. However, it is not
uncommon for multiple embryos to become viable, leading to a multifetal pregnancy. The instance of
multifetal pregnancy can increase the risk for adverse fetal outcomes. To circumvent these risks,
selective reduction has become accepted practice in managing ... Show more content on

The practice of abortion nursing, while deemed a necessity by practicing nurses, may be viewed as
unsavory by the public. Public opinions may also carry over into the workplace with nurses being
demonized by their colleagues. A study by the Journal of Clinical Nursing found that opinions by
colleagues were largely situationally based, ...reasons for termination, gestation, and circumstances of
the woman were pivotal to the formation of positive or negative staff attitudes towards abortion (Lipp,
2011, p. 893). This study suggests that if peers determined that the abortion was warranted due to
situational constraints or medical necessity, they withheld personal judgement towards nurses. If the
reasons regarding the abortion were considered to be fickle and without medical reason, peers
developed negative attitudes towards nurses assisting in the procedure. Nurses that assist in abortions
not only face opposition from the public and their peers, they may also experience personal distress
based solely on the situation preceding the

External, Internal, and Construct Validity Essay
Validity pertains to both the methods and the design of a research study and indicates the degree with
which correct inferences can be made from the results of a research study (Indiana University Of
Pennsylvania, 2010). According to Trochim and Donnelly, there are four types of validity including
conclusion, internal, construct, and external (2008). In this assignment, three of these types will be
discussed. Internal validity is the extent to which a test measures what it claims to measure. External
validity on the other hand, is the extent to which the results of a research study can be generalized to
other groups, other times, and other settings. Construct validity demonstrates an association between
results and the prediction of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instrumentation is concerned a lack of consistency in the measuring instrument that could account for
invalid results of a research study. This threat is most likely to occur when two different forms are
used for the pre and post tests or if the instrument is constructed poorly. (Creswell, 2009).
Mortality can occur if research participants drop out of the study before completion. This problem is
more likely to occur if participants are volunteers or if the sample group is too small (Creswell, 2009).
Statistical regression is the tendency of participants who score high on a pretest to score lower (or
closer to the mean) on the posttest and consequently, participants who score low on a pretest tend to
score higher on the posttest. This regression may significantly influence the distribution of scores.
Finally, differential selection can occur if already formed groups are used in a study as the groups may
have had existing differences from the beginning. For example, the subjects in each group may have
extreme age differences or educational backgrounds. As a result, any differences found at the posttest
may be due to these differential selection differences rather than being due to the independent
variable. External validity is the degree to which the results of a research study can be generalized to
and across other populations, settings, times and tasks. The threats to external validity compromise a

Westboro Baptist Church
Persuasive opinion paper
God hates fags, Thank god for dead soldiers, Thank god for Hurricane Katrina, Pretty harsh right?
These are all common phrases publically protested by a church called the Westboro Baptist church.
You would think such comments should be illegal to chant out in public considering that gay marriage
is now legal in some states and also that soldiers are out fighting for us, however members of the
Westboro Baptist church feel differently. Westboro Baptist church was established in 1955. Located in
Topeka, Kansas, Their goal is to preach the Word of God to this crooked and perverse generation .

The Oklahoma State Liquor Laws
I am going to address the Oklahoma State Liquor Laws. The law specifically in question is section
534, chapter 3 of Title 37 in the Oklahoma Statues. The issue being that, in the state of Oklahoma, the
sale of any alcoholic beverage that is over 3.2 percent alcohol volume by weight has to be sold at
room temperature and cannot be sold in grocery stores or convenient stores. By law it can only be sold
by state licensed liquor stores. This means that the general public has to pay a higher mark up for the
alcohol purchased in these privately owned liquor stores and businesses. The law says that such drinks
are to be sold only at room temperature. It is also illegal for the sale of higher alcohol content drinks
on Sunday s, on election days, and on holidays. Texas, on the other hand, makes the sales of all
alcoholic drinks legal in grocery stores, convenient stores, and liquor stores. In September of 1907
Oklahoma accepted prohibition as part of the new state s constitution. In January of 1919, Oklahoma
became the eighteenth state to ratify, or make valid, the Eighteenth Amendment. The Eighteenth
Amendment prohibited the making, selling and transportation of alcohol. In February of 1933 the
Twenty First Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed. The Twenty First Amendment
repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and gave the individual states the rights to determine the alcohol
laws for their own state. Like a lot of other states, Oklahoma never ratified the

King Hamlet Revenge Quotes
Firstly, Hamlet is a royal prince of the Danish court. Hamlet s father, King Hamlet was murdered by
Claudius. The ghost of King Hamlet says that when he was napping in his orchard, Claudius, his
brother, poured a leperous distillment, or a poison, into his ear. The poison curdled his blood and
caused his skin to develop horrible sores. When Hamlet learns from the ghost of his father s murder,
he weeps, and promises action, though he delivers none. Hamlet grieves deeply for his father, Hamlet
carefully plots his revenge and waits for the perfect moment to avenge King Hamlet. Claudius s
murder of king Hamlet initiates Hamlet s quest for revenge. Hamlet expresses his feelings while in
dialogue with the ghost: Haste, haste me to know it that with wings as swift/ As meditation, or the
thoughts of love, / May sweep to my revenge (Shakespeare 1.5.29 31).The significance of this quote
explains about Hamlet saying to the Ghost of his father that he wants to know about his murder so that
he may seek revenge faster than a person falls in love because it is the first time Hamlet talks the
revenge for the murder that he seeks for most of the play. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Hamlet has the chance to kill Claudius when he finds him apparently knelt in prayer. He
recognizes this is his perfect opportunity to kill Claudius as he says in line 76, now might I do it pat,
now he is praying, (Shakespeare 3.3.76) but stops himself. Hamlet hesitates because he fears that if he
ends Claudius life in mid confession, while he is praying, Claudius would go straight to heaven by
virtue of his cleansed soul. Even though Hamlet s objective was to kill Claudius and avenge his father,
he believes this is hire and salary, not revenge, (Shakespeare

  • 2. Human Resources Are Responsible For Making And Driving... 1.1 A number of Human Resources objectives support organisational goals, such as profitability, business reputation, ethics and principles according to Mayhew, R. (2014). Human Resources are responsible for making and driving decisions to assist with the strategy of their organisation. Each individual organisation will have their own mission and vision statements which will outline the short term and long term objectives of the organisation and HR are responsible for helping to successfully reach those goals. Managing change and implementing new ideas, methods and strategies are responsibilities of the HR Function. Forward thinking is vitally important to a successful organisation and HR will translate the short and long term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within this era of the HR Function it would have been common practice for HR to handle recruitment, training and to deal with trade unions. Resources is a term used to describe the HR function towards the end of the 20th century as more focus was given to non monetary factors for workers rather than wages as motivators to increase productivity. There was also more focus on training and development and upskilling to get the most out the workforce. This would play as a motivator to the employee and would be a cost saving exercise for the business also. Valuable Assets is a term used to describe the current HR Function due to the added responsibility and power the function now has in addition to the Resources term of the HR Function. This is based partly on the advancement of technology and globalisation. The current HR Function also specialise in fostering a culture in organisations and shaping strategies to assist organisations in reaching their mission and vision statements. At the end of the 19th century) This was mostly women campaigning for better working conditions for other women and girls in industrial working places. (During the First World War)This was in agreement with the Trade Unions and at times led to very bitter disputes. After The First Word War, workers rights and formal rights emerged. • 3. The Voting Age In the article Why We Should Lower the Voting Age to 16, Laurence Steinberg asserts that teenagers deserve more than just a voice to make a change but a right to vote (Steinberg). He elaborates on how teenagers are qualified to vote because their minds are fully developed enough to make good choices. Steinberg believes that teenagers have the responsibility to vote because currently the teens right now are having a thoughtful, eloquent protest. Steinberg insists that the federal voting age in the United States should be lowered from 18 to 16 (Steinberg). Steinberg uses hypophora and logistical evidence to create his empathetic tone. Moreover, he switches to logistical evidence to back up his hypophora. He states that Cold cognitive abilities are skills that lead people to reason logically with facts and that they are firmly in place by [the age] 16 (Steinberg). Steinberg s incorporation of logic in his article not only made an emphasis on that his claim his correct and supported by factual studies, but it also adds to his empathetic tone because he can be seen as understanding of teenagers by disregarding stereotypical information with statistics. In addition to, Steinberg goes back to using hypophora in the final parts of his article to establish his point once more and build his tone. The concept created for the report as a whole is: Pica coffee, and how good it really is. Like it says in the text. Good coffee. Really, really good coffee. To build on the concept, I thought it was important to incorporate coffee into the design as much as possible. Which is why the whole report appears to have coffee stains throughout each page. • 5. The Decision Between Quantitative And Qualitative Data One of the most important parts of establishing a research design involves the decision between quantitative and qualitative data. Each has its own strength and weaknesses that any successful research design must account for. Perhaps one of the easiest distinctions between the two rests in the sample size. While quantitative data normally involves a large n, or sample size, qualitative data involves a much smaller sample size in comparison. This smaller sample size allows qualitative researchers to focus more on each case, increasing the internal validity of the research, but limiting its external validity. Quantitative based research designs reverse this. The large sample size of quantitative data often makes it difficult for researches to establish causation among the independent and dependent variable(s). The external validly of such designs usually offsets this issue to some extent. Due to their large nature, and use of numerical data, quantitative research is much more replicable when compared to their qualitative counterparts. Unfortunately, the struggle between internal and external validity is a fundamental part of research. Even efforts to combine the two methods to form a mixed methods research design ultimately fail to nullify the issue completely. Keeping this in mind, a quantitative analysis is the most logical given the specific research question and the data available. This chapter seeks to prove that there is a statistically significant difference in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Motor Effect 2.1 Motors use the effect of forces on current carrying conductors in magnetic fields 2.1.1 The motor effect The motor effect is where a force acts on a current carrying conductor in a magnetic field. The right hand palm rule is used to find certain properties: fingers point to magnetic field, thumb points in DC direction and palm points to direction of the force. 2.1.2 Factors affecting the force acting on the current carrying conductor Forces are experienced by the electrons in the conductor and are affected by: * Length of conductor (longer conductor means more electrons hence more electrons experiencing the force) * Strength of magnetic field (more force on electrons) * Amount of current in conductor (more current ... By varying the speed (relative motion) of the movement and strength of magnet, the galvanometer flickered more therefore more current produced. Distance also affects this. 2.2.2 Magnetic field strength and magnetic flux density Magnetic flux density (B) is a measure of the number of lines of force per unit area. • 7. Artificial Neural Networks ( Ann ) CHAPTER 5 Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) 5.1 Machine Learning In machine learning, systems are trained to infer patterns from observational data. A particularly simple type of pattern, a mapping between input and output, can be learnt through a process called supervised learning. A supervised learning system is given training data consisting of example inputs and the corresponding outputs, and comes up with a model to explain those data (a process called function approximation). It does this by choosing from a class of model specified by the system s designer. [Nature. ANN 4] 5.1.1 Machine Learning Applied to the Air Engine The rapid growth of data sets means that machine learning can now use complex model classes and tackle highly non trivial inference problems. Such problems are usually characterized by several factors: The data are multi dimensional; the underlying pattern is complex (for instance, it might be nonlinear or changeable); and the designer has only weak prior knowledge about the problem in particular, a mechanistic understanding is lacking. [Nature, ANN 4] 5.2 Overview of ANN Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) are a branch of the field known as Artificial Intelligence (AI) which may also consists of Fuzzy logic (FL) and Genetic Algorithms (GA). • 9. Strategies Of A 2-Level Model We used multilevel modeling (MLM; Hox, 2002; Raudenbush Byrk, 2002) to evaluate the efficacy of feedback. MLM was used due to the nested data structure (i.e., clients nested within therapists). Given this, the assumption of independent observations is not met which can result in increase of Type I error rates; therefore, traditional analytical strategies such as analysis of variance are not appropriate. Specifically, MLM permits us to control for the variance effects from therapists to evaluate the effects of client feedback at the client level. We also will be able to see if the rates of change for each treatment condition were different. Using an ANCOVA like strategy, we constructed a 2 level model (client within therapist) ... Effects of Client Feedback on Outcome All Clients Descriptive statistics are shown in Table 1. The results from the covariate only model (Equation 1) are shown in Table 2. This baseline model estimated covariance parameters to compute an intraclass coefficient (ICC) to determine the amount of variability at the therapist level. The ICC showed that less than 1% of the variance (.02) was accounted for by therapist outcome differences, which is smaller than other PCOMS studies that evaluated therapist effects (Anker et al., 2009; Reese et al., 2011). The covariate only model indicates a significant positive slope (10 = .26, p .001) between initial ORS scores and post ORS scores across clients. This indicated that ORS scores significantly improved for all clients from pre to post treatment, with the average post ORS for clients equal to 29.31 (00). The standardized mean effect size from pre to post ORS was 1.38. The ANCOVA model included the treatment condition (FEEDBACK) as a predictor to the first model as shown in Equation 2. How long would it take to drive across Colorado if you are constantly changing speeds? All of these questions can now be answered, largely impart because of the great English philosopher, Sir Isaac Newton. In a time where religion was at war with science, Isaac Newton opened up people s minds to theories and reason. Isaac Newton was to be the starburst of the Enlightenment. He became the foundation of enlightened thought. It was the 17th century, the time of the Scientific Revolution. But how was he to figure out where the object would be if it constantly sped up or slowed down? Where would the object be if it traveled around curves? This is the concept of calculus. Using his knowledge of algebra, Newton set out to find the value of an unknown number that kept changing. He did this by figuring out that the integration of a function was simply the inverse of differentiating it. Newton had just developed a method for finding changing and flowing quantities (Margaret, 42). He had just invented calculus. Newton went even further after this. With the use of calculus, he was able to find the area under an open curve known as a hyperbola. He went on to take this answer to 52 decimal places (Margaret, 47). While Isaac Newton was very satisfied with these results, he had other things on his mind, and he continued to amaze the world. Following his work in calculus, Isaac Newton hardly broke stride. He continued his studies and experiments on lights and colors. In 1665, Newton performed a number of experiments on the composition of light. With his first experiment, Newton bought a prism. He then closed all the curtains so that he was in a darkened room. After the room was dark, he proceeded to let a small stream of light pass through his window shuts and he noticed that the prism broke up the white light ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Williams externalises this conflict in the typification of Blanche and Stanley as Nietzsche s Apollonian Dionysian dialectic in the inevitable destruction of Blanche in her lies, coerced by women s suffering due to the onslaught of patriarchy. Back to secrets and lies The deaths that Blanche suffers engender her characterisation as the Apollonian in her world of delusion and lies. Allan s suicide becomes the first of Blanche s traumatic encounters with death ( All of those deaths! The long parade to the graveyard ) embodying in her personified monologue the imminence of death ( Why, the Grim Reaper had put up his tent on our doorstep! ). Although possessing the ability to read and write is valuable, it is simply not enough. The truth of the matter is that having the ability to read and write is worth nothing if one does not understand what he or she is reading and writing. As a result of my childhood experiences, religious literacy is possessing a basic understanding of one s individual religion, and having the capacity to internalize what certain teachings and beliefs means to them. In a narrative of my literary experiences, these moments regarding religion shaped my capacity to read, write, and comprehend. I simply want to share my Catholic faith. • 19. Analysis Of British Indian Sculptor Anish Kapoor Dhruv Setty Analysis: Anish Kapoor In this discussion I will be describing two works designed by British Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor. This is followed by discussion of the two significant aspects of his work context and narrative. Born in Mumbai, India, in 1954, to parents of Punjabi and Iraqi heritage. Anish Kapoor moved to London early in his career to pursue studies in design. He first gained notoriety for his work in the 1980s for creating biomorphic sculptures and installations Revered as being often profound, verging and inspiring . Much of his work incorporates a modernist feeling. A modernist feeling of materiality with an interest for the control of structure and the view of space. His work consists of natural figures, using specific materials (for example, stone, limestone and marble). His models slowly extended toward more minimalist designs (later in his career). Kapoor uses rich tones, amazingly high quality surfaces, and uses perspectives that create optical illusions. This shows deep thinking and understanding of space. 1000 names (Which refers in Hinduism to all the names of the god Vishnu), 1982 Pigment on gesso and wood A return trip to India in 1979 opened Kapoor s eyes to new ideas and perspectives. • 21. Positive Economic Changes Of Industrial Automation Essay Positive Economic Changes of Industrial Automation by 2036 When a sect of society is faced with the imminent reality that its lifestyle will be disrupted by the advent of the latest technology, there ensues a massive ideological regression to the status quo. Historically, polls showed an aversion to technology, with only 28% of adults labelling themselves as early adopters of technology (Pew Research). A low percentage of early adopters creates a chasm of technology adoption, reinforced by the dissent of a vocal minority of technology conservatives. This aversion to technology is not drawn on by rational, evidence based conclusions, but rather, apocalyptic premonitions of the poorer livelihoods of average citizens. The common fear is that automation will kill jobs and create a high unemployment rate. Despite this hyperbolic scenario, the trope offers a starting point to analyze the scope of economic changes that would occur during a plausible future. The current 20 year period we live in (2016 to 2036) can be categorized as the genesis of capable, automated machines, which will be referred to as CAMs, that can take on menial tasks currently done by humans. This does not cover highly intelligent AI, as they are too distant in the future to accurately predict, refer to Appendix A for more information. During this period, we will see a future in which CAMs are automated enough to perform menial tasks like burger flipping, cashiering, etc, and potentially even some ... You need to escape spaces mentally and physically by connecting or disconnecting yourself from a place that does not create happiness. The first visit that I can recall such an impression was in my heritage landmark (Rawhiti) I got to know what it is like was during my early teens when I attended an unveiling with my close relations. I had imagined the place to be dirty and filthy, but it wasn t, it was just basic. I had imagined Rawhiti through early distant memories as well as what I thought I knew from media and movies of what remote coastal towns with a Maori population are like, I immediately pictured the movie Boy (2010) as a similar setting to Rawhiti. Academic Self Efficacy Beliefs And Quality Of Experience Review of an article on learning theory: Academic Self Efficacy Beliefs and Quality of Experience In Learning INTRODUCTION Learning Theory In education and psychology, learning is generally defined as a practice that collectively brings together emotional, cognitive and environmental influences as well as earlier experiences for obtaining, improving, or even making changes in someone s knowledge, values, skills and also world views (Fisher, 2005). Learning is a process that mostly focuses on what occurs when learning happens. The explanation of what happens is distinctively illustrated in the learning theories. A learning theory is formulated as an attempt to describe how human beings and animals learn. This helps to understand the fundamentally complex process of learning. These learning theories comprise of two important values (Fisher, 2005). The first one is in providing terms and a conceptual outline for deducing the examples of learning that are observed. The other value is important when suggesting where and how to look for solutions for practical problems. The theories may not give the desired solutions, but they direct people s attention to the variables that are essential when finding solutions, (Hergenhahn, 2005). Social networking sites have increased our overall social interactions as well as provided society with additional ways to build social connections. However, for these interactions and connections to be advantageous, individuals within society must be aware of and accept the decrease in privacy that arises with the increased social interaction, only then will it be a benefit. It has been said that the reason restoration justice was used for these types of crimes were because it was easier for the offender to right their wrong through restitution. Restorative Justice has grew increasingly throughout the criminal justice system over the years. Now, the program is used to ignite affords of victim offender mediation and dialog aiming to empower victims (Britto, S., Reimund, M. E., 2013). Many feel that having an open dialog about murder or crimes in general increases the chances of restoring the community and righting the victim wrong. Restorative Justice requires offender to recognize and acknowledge there wrong. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She is the head of the family around whom the conflicts arise and are resolved. After the death of her husband, Mother struggles to keep her family together by providing the support and guidance they need, and encouraging them to use good judgment and think of the family as a whole before making their decisions. The first conflict, which carries on throughout the drama, is how the insurance money from the death of the father should be spent. In Mother s eyes, it should be spent on something which will benefit her children and help them to recognize what they have and who they are in the world. Mother said to Walter, What you ain t never understood is that I ain t got nothing, don t own nothing, ain t never really wanted nothing that wasn t for you. There ain t nothing as precious to me ... There ain t nothing worth holding on to, money, dreams, nothing else if it means if it means it s going to destroy my boy. For these reasons, Mother bought the family a new house and put it in the name of Walter s son, Travis. In other words, she made an investment in Walter s future and his family. Mother saw the family falling apart and that their feelings of resentment for one another, and general discouragement in their lives, was an effect from living like sardines in their tiny dreary apartment. Walter, however, did not see it this way and felt nobody would listen to what he wanted. He wanted the same thing as his mother, to make an investment in his and his family s future, but he had his own idea of how to do it. As he tries to explain to his mother, Sometimes I ... • 44. Classical Conditioning Association Psychology The classical conditioning association was made between the child and the dog. The bark of the dog is the unconditional stimulus (US) which has caused distress to the child who now exhibits a fear of dogs which would be the unconditional response (UR). The fear of the dog (UR) is what needs to be changed so the child will no longer be afraid of dogs. I associated the barking of the dog (US) to the fear of dogs by the child (UR) because every time the dog barked the child showed some sort of anxiety either by crying, running away or hiding behind the couch. This means that an event in the situation has produced an action which has not been learned and so it is a natural response that has not been taught. This would be considered the before conditioning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The responses created during classical conditioning are uncontrolled and are automatically made by the human or animal being conditioned or trained. This also means that the feedback you receive from the subject is not aware of his or her response for example when a dog salivates at the sight of food this is uncontrolled and automatic. The child cried, ran away, and hid at the sight of the dog, his/her responses were involuntary and were not taught to them, showing why this aspect of classical conditioning shows why human development is based on nature. The aspect of classical conditioning that shows that human development is based on nurture are the environmental influences from parents, friends, teachers and anyone else they may come in contact with. Any classical conditioning that leads to a conditioned response is related to the nurture aspect of classical conditioning. The child or animal have acquired or learned the said behavior. An example of nurture could be the Little Albert experiment because every time he came in contact with the white rat Watson made a loud noise frightening little Albert therefore making Little Albert afraid of the ... • 45. Pros And Cons Of Sex Selective Reduction The Ethical Social Dilemmas of Selective Abortion In the past, if a woman was unable to get pregnant, she had no choice but to concede to the fact. As technology has advanced women can now employ techniques such as in vitro fertilization to achieve pregnancy. These procedures, while promising, do not come without their consequences. It is common practice for numerous embryos to be implanted into the woman s uterus in the hopes that at least one will survive. However, it is not uncommon for multiple embryos to become viable, leading to a multifetal pregnancy. The instance of multifetal pregnancy can increase the risk for adverse fetal outcomes. To circumvent these risks, selective reduction has become accepted practice in managing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The practice of abortion nursing, while deemed a necessity by practicing nurses, may be viewed as unsavory by the public. Public opinions may also carry over into the workplace with nurses being demonized by their colleagues. A study by the Journal of Clinical Nursing found that opinions by colleagues were largely situationally based, ...reasons for termination, gestation, and circumstances of the woman were pivotal to the formation of positive or negative staff attitudes towards abortion (Lipp, 2011, p. 893). This study suggests that if peers determined that the abortion was warranted due to situational constraints or medical necessity, they withheld personal judgement towards nurses. If the reasons regarding the abortion were considered to be fickle and without medical reason, peers developed negative attitudes towards nurses assisting in the procedure. Nurses that assist in abortions not only face opposition from the public and their peers, they may also experience personal distress based solely on the situation preceding the ... • 46. External, Internal, and Construct Validity Essay Validity pertains to both the methods and the design of a research study and indicates the degree with which correct inferences can be made from the results of a research study (Indiana University Of Pennsylvania, 2010). According to Trochim and Donnelly, there are four types of validity including conclusion, internal, construct, and external (2008). In this assignment, three of these types will be discussed. Internal validity is the extent to which a test measures what it claims to measure. External validity on the other hand, is the extent to which the results of a research study can be generalized to other groups, other times, and other settings. Construct validity demonstrates an association between results and the prediction of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instrumentation is concerned a lack of consistency in the measuring instrument that could account for invalid results of a research study. This threat is most likely to occur when two different forms are used for the pre and post tests or if the instrument is constructed poorly. (Creswell, 2009). Mortality can occur if research participants drop out of the study before completion. This problem is more likely to occur if participants are volunteers or if the sample group is too small (Creswell, 2009). Statistical regression is the tendency of participants who score high on a pretest to score lower (or closer to the mean) on the posttest and consequently, participants who score low on a pretest tend to score higher on the posttest. This regression may significantly influence the distribution of scores. Finally, differential selection can occur if already formed groups are used in a study as the groups may have had existing differences from the beginning. For example, the subjects in each group may have extreme age differences or educational backgrounds. As a result, any differences found at the posttest may be due to these differential selection differences rather than being due to the independent variable. External validity is the degree to which the results of a research study can be generalized to and across other populations, settings, times and tasks. The threats to external validity compromise a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. The Oklahoma State Liquor Laws I am going to address the Oklahoma State Liquor Laws. The law specifically in question is section 534, chapter 3 of Title 37 in the Oklahoma Statues. The issue being that, in the state of Oklahoma, the sale of any alcoholic beverage that is over 3.2 percent alcohol volume by weight has to be sold at room temperature and cannot be sold in grocery stores or convenient stores. By law it can only be sold by state licensed liquor stores. This means that the general public has to pay a higher mark up for the alcohol purchased in these privately owned liquor stores and businesses. The law says that such drinks are to be sold only at room temperature. It is also illegal for the sale of higher alcohol content drinks on Sunday s, on election days, and on holidays. Texas, on the other hand, makes the sales of all alcoholic drinks legal in grocery stores, convenient stores, and liquor stores. In September of 1907 Oklahoma accepted prohibition as part of the new state s constitution. In January of 1919, Oklahoma became the eighteenth state to ratify, or make valid, the Eighteenth Amendment. The Eighteenth Amendment prohibited the making, selling and transportation of alcohol. In February of 1933 the Twenty First Amendment to the United States Constitution was passed. The Twenty First Amendment repealed the Eighteenth Amendment and gave the individual states the rights to determine the alcohol laws for their own state. Like a lot of other states, Oklahoma never ratified the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. King Hamlet Revenge Quotes Firstly, Hamlet is a royal prince of the Danish court. Hamlet s father, King Hamlet was murdered by Claudius. The ghost of King Hamlet says that when he was napping in his orchard, Claudius, his brother, poured a leperous distillment, or a poison, into his ear. The poison curdled his blood and caused his skin to develop horrible sores. When Hamlet learns from the ghost of his father s murder, he weeps, and promises action, though he delivers none. Hamlet grieves deeply for his father, Hamlet carefully plots his revenge and waits for the perfect moment to avenge King Hamlet. Claudius s murder of king Hamlet initiates Hamlet s quest for revenge. Hamlet expresses his feelings while in dialogue with the ghost: Haste, haste me to know it that with wings as swift/ As meditation, or the thoughts of love, / May sweep to my revenge (Shakespeare 1.5.29 31).The significance of this quote explains about Hamlet saying to the Ghost of his father that he wants to know about his murder so that he may seek revenge faster than a person falls in love because it is the first time Hamlet talks the revenge for the murder that he seeks for most of the play. ... Hamlet hesitates because he fears that if he ends Claudius life in mid confession, while he is praying, Claudius would go straight to heaven by virtue of his cleansed soul.
