Factors affecting Rates of a Reaction (Kinetics)
KINETICS DESIGN LAB
Research Question:
Does the concentration of Potassium Iodide (KI) affect the rate of its reaction with hydrogen peroxide
(H2O2) (of a fixed concentration)?
Introduction:
There are several factors that affect the rate of a reaction. Some of them being Pressure (if the
reactants are Gases), Temperature, Presence of a Catalyst, Surface Area of the reactant, and
Concentration. According to the Collision Theory, during a reaction, particles collide with each other
and react if the geometry of the collision is correct. In this Experiment, we will investigate the effect
of varying concentrations of Potassium Iodide on its reaction with ... Show more content on

The Potassium Iodide particles will increase and the frequency of their collisions with Hydrogen
Peroxide particles will also increase, causing them to react quicker.
I hypothesize that as I increase the concentration of the Potassium Iodide Solution, the rate at which
the blue black starch complex covers the X marking on the tile, will also increase until a point where
the rate will remain the same due to all the particles having already finished reacting.

Beverage Choices Of Bottled Water Essay
We are a 24/7 on the go society who wants convenience in our beverage choices . Kim E. Jeffery,
CEO of Nestle Waters North company, made this comment in representation of the largest leader in
the bottled water industry. It is no wonder how bottled water became so popular in our society.
Healthier than soda, bottled water is conveniently stored in a lightweight, disposable, plastic bottle.
Bottled water sales started when Perrier glass bottled water came overseas to America in the late 1970
s and in 1989, water was available in PET plastic bottles (Tapped). Now everywhere, bottled water
can even be found in high school cafeterias while there are water fountains located in nearly every
hall. However, there is an opposing view to the product with names such as Ice Mountain, Aquafina,
Dasani, Sam s Choice, and Acadia. Through research, bottled water is known to carry human
pollutants, exceed other natural resource costs, and take part in a large portion of plastic waste, all in a
sixteen ounce plastic bottle. Although bottled water is convenient in only a few cases, public education
and legislation are necessary because of the human pollutants, costs, and waste.
Bottled water is becoming such a growing industry because it does show to be convenient in some
cases. As Kim E. Jeffery states, Bottled water provides a healthy alternative at a time when obesity is a
growing problem ( Success ). With companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Nestle, bottled pop became

The Pros And Cons Of UNICEF
Unmistakably, innumerable world events have set the stage for a multitude of moments of peace,
liberty, and justice throughout the globe that have been long awaited for extensive periods of time. The
key formula of momentous changes throughout history have not only been political decisions, but also
the commonly associated aspect of warfare. Together, these often chaotic melting pots of policy and
conflict have paved the way for ending extensive moments of injustice and hardship while also
toppling the authoritative rule of brute dictators such as Adolf Hitler. However, quite commonly the
long fought pathways towards victory and sequential freedom leaves behind a long tail of destruction
and chaos often paid for in the cost of lives, limbs, damaged societies and post traumatic stress
disorder. On the positive side, however, what these long fought battles sometimes give birth to are
organizations and policies that emphasize the necessity of not only preserving peace, but also aiding
those commonly negatively impacted by those moments of disorder and chaos. A great example of an

Dulce Et Decorum Est And Jessie Pope s
The poems Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen and Who s for the Game? by Jessie Pope are
direct antitheses of each other, such that their views about war, the chosen literary schemes, and the
effects on the readers are exact opposites in each view. Who s for the Game? is a strong pro war poem
with a simplistic rhyme scheme, basic meaning, shallow imagery, and is intended to provoke and
challenge young men into joining the war. Conversely, Dulce et Decorum Est is an anti war poem with
a relatively more complicated rhyme scheme, complex meaning, deep imagery, and is intended to
discourage those who write such propaganda as Who s for the Game? . The authors of these poems
have polar opposite views on the topic of war, and of fighting for one s country. Jessie Pope is pro
war, and her poem can be reduced down to provoking propaganda with the intent of encouraging
young men into joining the war. Wilfred Owen, a soldier, is anti war, and his poem is a direct message
that Fighting and dying for one s country is not sweet or right, it s an ancient lie. Although both of
them are notable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

being indirect to contrast how direct Who s for the Game? with its immediate statement of its message
and intent. Who s for the Game? . The first two lines of Who s for the game are as follows: Who s for

On Friday, December 16, 2016, at 5:40 PM, Officers Patrick Daugherty and Frank Miller were
working a uniformed assignment in cruiser 9022, and were dispatched to 1464 E. 26th Ave., on a

While driving to the location, Officers Daugherty and Miller received information from radio,
indicating the caller s husband was cold to the touch, not breathing, and had possibly been attacked by
their dog.
Upon arrival, Officers Miller and Daugherty made contact with the caller, Louise Hall, who refused to
secure the dog, but advised Officers Miller and Daugherty the dog was caught along the fence in the

The Negative Effects Of Animals In Zoos
Negative Effects of Animals in Zoos Zoos, often described as establishments with indoor and outdoor
settings where live animals are kept, play a vital role in conserving wild species. Zoo establishments
serve the purpose of educating zoo visitors about animals and for providing those animals with proper
care, but they are typically used for public exhibition. Most people see zoos as places to take their
children to learn more about animals, and as a form of entertainment by allowing people to walk
around and look at animals in cages. Others see zoos as places that confine animals from their natural
habitat, and as places that interfere with the natural order of the animals. There are many factors that
contribute to the negative effects of animals being in zoos, most being the zoo s management, faculty,
and the visitors.
How zoo faculties are managed is one of the many ways that animals in zoos can be affected
negatively. According to Smit, [t]he obvious managerial goal with such facilities is to achieve a level
of integration of facilities and services, but a level of integration which is driven by the needs of
animals in any given zoological facility (Smit). Smit believes that facilities and services should be
combined in a way that has a favorable effect towards the animals. An example of this would be when
animal cages are built to accommodate their inhabitants (Smit). Animal cages must be structured well
enough for the safety of the animals and in a way that the

How Did Florence Contribute To The Renaissance
Italian city states were small independent cities between the 9th and 15th century that gradually grew
overtime. Important cities such as Florence, Genoa and Venice contributed to the Renaissance.
However, Florence was one of the most significant of them all. During this period, money from
wealthy groups such as the Medici family, was used to support famous artists who made this city
important as it is. It was to be said that Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance, in other words
the start of a whole new dimension full of new ideas.
Leadership played an important role to help Florence gain importance. During the 15th to 18th
century, the Medici family was a major influence to Florence even though they were an uncrowned
monarch. The

Karate is one of the most important aspects of my life. It has introduced me not only to new people but
also to new experiences. It has taught me important lessons and given me priceless skills. Because of
karate, I am a more confident, healthy, and responsible person than I have ever been before. Most
importantly, martial arts has helped me to embody the five elements of the Be Your Best Self program
before I even learned what they were. Karate keeps me active, with about eight hours of training each

and impossibly difficult to achieve. But I didn t let that stop me. I put my whole heart into karate at the
age of 12 and worked hard every time I trained. Eight months later, I earned my yellow belt. I was
proud of myself and happy with where I was as a karate student. I could have decided to stop where I
was but I had set my sights on black belt, and I wanted to get there. For years, I trained for hours every
week, dedicated to learning everything I possibly could, so that I would be ready when it was time for
me to test for black belt. At the age of 16, I finally reached that goal and earned my black belt. It took
nearly 5 years to achieve my goal but the pride I felt in my hard work made it worth every second.
Now I have set new goals, to teach others what I know about karate, and to grow in my own karate
knowledge. Karate has made me a more ambitious and goal oriented person and thus it helps me

Basics Journalism
The term journalism has taken on many definitions in the past two decades. It is no longer about
television, print and radio content, but the digitalization of content. Today s journalists are expected to
go beyond traditional journalistic practices. They need to know how to be experts in digital reporting
and publishing. By providing tips on how to organize data digitally, build websites, build an audience,
create video, audio and photographed content, editing and publishing this content, Briggs covers all
areas of digital journalism. Briggs book, consisting of 11 chapters, is divided into three sections
including basics, multimedia storytelling and editing/decision making in journalism.
UNIT 1: BASICS OF JOURNALISM
News companies started using digital technologies nearly 20 years ago. This required professionals in
the industry to change their traditional practices and evolve to the new way of producing content. This
change has not been immediate, but according to Briggs, online technologies allow us to gather
information better, communicate better and create better journalism.
All journalists should have a basic understanding of web design including HTML, CSS and XML
coding. Those who know learn how do this have control over how information is displayed and
distributed on the Web.
All journalists should have a blog. A blog should consist of a good headline, several links, photos and
screen shots. Bloggers should also read and comment on other people s blogs in

As well as this, productive working relationships enable consistent messages to be communicated to
the shareholders to keep them informed about the business. Improved customer service can also be
seen with working relationships, which is important in the retail industry and no less so when working
in a company such as GAP and according to their training programme, Provide exceptional customer
service, to meet their customer s requirements.
Developmental Stages
From the early stages of a team forming, to the end when a team complete its goal(s) there are many
dis agreements that need to resolved and many responsibilities to be taken up and these are shown,
(albeit with differing opinions), by several theorists.
In 1965, B. Tuckman published his idea of how groups assemble by using his Forming, Storming,
Norming and Performing model . You could say that his theory is a helpful explanation of team
development, but they may differ from one individual to another. The model does explain how the
team develops its maturity, through establishing working relationships. It also connotes the leadership
style changing; from a directing style, to coaching, then participating and delegating before almost
being detached.
Stage one of his model is the Forming stage, where the leader must be prepared to answer many
questions about the team s purpose and objectives. Usual team processes are often ignored and there is
also a high dependence on

If you bought the game for it s full price, you could access all the features of the game with your code.
If you got your game used, then chances are that the code would have already been redeemed by
somebody else, preventing you from going online with the game. This was done to mitigate possible
losses due to game rentals and game resellers such as GameStop. While this didn t really push in game
purchases, it did set the tone for locking certain aspects of a game behind a paywall (Williams). The
next step was to intentionally lock not only features, but content behind a paywall. In 2011, Rockstar
introduced the first season pass for their game L.A. Noir. This season pass allowed a customer to buy
all DLC, or downloadable content (any content that isn t included on the base game, but must be
purchased and added to the game), as a big bundle. Usually, this bundle was at a discounted rate
compared to buying all the DLC separately, and it incentivized fans to spend more money on the
game, even if it meant paying for things they would never use. Unlike the online passes, the season
pass was implemented into almost every major game released in 2011 and beyond including
Borderlands 2, Destiny, and Evolve (Williams). All of this history culminated in the mother of
microtransactions; loot boxes. Loot boxes are objects that can be purchased in game. Opening

Artemis In Greek Mythology
Mythology is an entertaining medium of entertainment, for both the ancient Greeks and Romans,
where there was no other form of entertainment, and the modern world, where the fantasies of old
continue to captivate the minds of the young. Every major Greek god has been represented many
times in modern media, but Artemis is one of the most dynamically presented characters in all of
mythology. This is due to the conflicting nature of the stories previously presented, which has been a
source of confusion for many. Nonetheless, people have continuously made stories out of the archer.
Artemis, while in the classic stories was very wise and fair yet stern, is considered younger and more
crass in more recent adaptations, such as The Titan s Curse. Artemis, ... Show more content on

She had a temple dedicated to her at Ephesus, which was known as one of the Seven Wonders of the
World when it was created ( Temple of Artemis ). It was commissioned by Croesus circa 500 BC,
when he was king of Lydia ( Temple of Artemis ). It measured 350 by 150 feet, and was adorned by
art over the entire temple, even in areas as the top of the pillars that supported it ( Temple of Artemis ).
The temple was destroyed twice, once by fire from Herostratus in 356 BC, and once by destruction
from invading Goths in 262 BC, after which the temple was never rebuilt ( Temple of Artemis ).
Works of art were also dedicated to stories describing her, such as her encounter with Acteon in which
Acteon and his hunting dogs come across Artemis bathing in the woods; in spite, she turns Acteon into
a mute deer who is attacked by his dogs ( Artemis and Acteon ). This scene is described through an
ancient bell krater, a vase like object used to mix wine and water to dilute the heavy wine of ancient
times (Museum of Fine Arts, Boston). The bell krater depicts the scene where Artemis shoots Acteon
and he is attacked by his dogs. The scene shows grace in Artemis s movements, with the feeble Acteon
helpless and on the ground, begging for mercy for his actions while receiving none. The art and
temples help a modern civilization to understand how the ancient world worshipped

The Effect Of Wankel Engines And Four Stroke Engines
Have you ever wondered how engines work? That is exactly what this paper is about, engines. I will
explain how Wankel engines, Diesel engines, turbojet engines, Gnome rotary engines, two stroke
engines, and four stroke engines work. I will also explain their histories. Some times when you look at
an engine it looks like a mess and you wonder how it could make anything move. The two stroke
engine was very popular in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Two stroke engines were used in
cars, tractors, and ships. One reason for their popularity was their simple design. The two stroke
engine has a lower cost to rebuild and maintain than most other engines, which is why the two stroke
engine was very popular. The reason why most two stroke ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While this is happening a crankcase compression is happening beneath the piston. The two stroke
engine fires on every circle of the piston. Because of this they are more powerful than the four stroke
engine of equivalent size. Two stroke engines also have lighter and simpler construction. These two
reasons are, why they are used in motorcycles chain saws, line trimmers and outboard motors. Sadly
two stroke engines cause a lot of pollution because some of exhaust gasses are expelled from the
exhaust part of the cycle. The four stroke engines are used in lawn mowers, garden tractors, tillers, and
washers. There is more than one type of four stroke engines. They are the horizontal camshaft, side
valve engine and the vertical camshaft, side valve engine. Both of these types use four cycles four
cycles in one full cycle. four stroke engine The four stroke engine is the now the most popular engine
for cars. The first thing that happens is that the intake piston moves down drawing in a fresh charge
fuel and air mixture into the cylinder. As the piston rises the intake valve is forced shut by increased
cylinder pressure. As the piston rises, the intake valve is forced shut by the increased cylinder
pressure. Flywheel momentum drives the piston upward, compressing the fuel and air mixture. At the
top of the compression stroke, the spark plug fires, igniting the compressed fuel. As the fuel burns it

Stock index can be constructed for entire world called global indices like S P global100, MSCI global
(MSCI which include over 6000 stocks from different parts of the developed world), for a particular
continent like (S P Latin America 500), for entire country like (sensex and nifty for India), or for a
particular sector like (BSE BANKEX for top banking companies in India).
How stock index is calculated?
A stock index is created by selecting a group of high performing stocks. Like the index of nation stock
exchange (India) is nifty50 and it comprises of 50 stocks. So if the value of the nifty index goes up it
means that most of the stocks in nifty are performing well.
A stock index can be calculated in two ways
1.By considering the price of the component stocks alone. This method is called the price weighted
method.
2.By considering the market value or size of the company called the capitalization weighted method.
Mostly for calculating the value of a index weighted market capitalization of the companies is used.
Example of index calculation:
Lets us see how the value of a stock index is calculated by taking the example of hypothetical stocks.
Consider the base index value is set to 100 for the stocks.

Expressionism In Pink Panther
When examining art, art theory can provide useful tools in understanding, appreciating, and extracting
both superficial and deeper meanings from the work. It also assists in quantifying what art is; the case
has been made that artistic license does not equate art, and boundaries help to create context and
meaning. In Terry Barrett s book, Why is That Art?: Aesthetics and Criticism of Contemporary Art, he
delves into art theory through the lens of realism, cognitivism, and expressionism, using contributions
from theorists both ancient and modern. Renowned pop artist, Jeff Koons, presents something of an
analytical conundrum in much of his art, as it can be analyzed through the lens of all three categories.
His sculpture, Pink Panther, when analyzed through realism, provides a succinct reflection of many
deeply ingrained cultural attitudes and expectations. The following will analyze Pink Panther using
realism theory, offering a sample process of how such an analysis could occur. It will also
subsequently evaluate the interpretation, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses that can be found
when applying certain perspectives in art theory to a specific work of art.
Realism Interpretation In Pink Panther, Koons used glazed porcelain to sculpt the image on the Pink

Smart Card is the perfect media that can be used as a health card due to its small size, secure,
capability of digitizing a huge amount of personal and medical data [4]. Some attempts have been
done by researchers to develop a personal portable healthcare record smart cards and a corresponding
framework to simplify maintenance and transfer of patient records [9]. Researchers in the U.K. have
created MyCare, a smart card with a fold out USB plug that can hold a patient s medical history.
MyCare was developed with open source that enables it to run on different computers and operating
systems. Data is protected through PINs and encryption, with a higher level of encryption planned for
further stages in the development process [5][6]. These smart card projects work better in countries
with nationalized health care. In the US For example, competition among hospitals is a barrier to a
smart card system [5]. Smart card technology was not widely spread due to lack of standards (Dash,
2001); the communications between a smart card and smart card reader. The cards also need to be
updated constantly which would be hard to enforce [10]. For smart cards, user mobility is only
possible if every machine that the user access has a smart card reader attached. The machine must
support the same standard smart card reader interfaces or use the same proprietary smart card reader

Furthermore, each unit is required to balance tasks and benchmarks selected by their respective
Adjutants General along with those prescribed by First Army. Generally, deploying units undergo four

Differences Between Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic Disney movie that most people know the plot to.
Before Walt Disney turned the tale into a movie, Brother Grimm had their own version of the tale.
Although the two stories had the same storyline there are many differences between them. The main
reason for the differences would be the audiences the creators are attracting. In the Brothers Grimm
version of Snow White the tale starts with a queen who wanted a child. She had said she want a child
as white as snow, as red as blood, and as black as the wood of the window frame (83). The queen had
given birth to a daughter who had all of the qualities she had wished for, but died not long after her
birth. In Walt Disney s version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the tale starts out with the evil
queen asking the mirror who the fairest one of all. The mirror responds with lips as red as the rose,
hair black as ebony, skin white as snow (Disney). The evil queen knew right away that it was Snow
White that the mirror was talking about. In both the Disney movie and the Brothers Grimm tale the
step mother/ evil queen is a beautiful lady, but proud and arrogant (83). When the evil queen found out
that she was no longer the fairest one of all she demanded to have Snow White killed. In the Brother
Grimm tale Snow White is only seven years old when this happens. In the movie Snow White s age is
never given but appears to be older than seven. In the written tale the evil queen

Propaganda Devices Appeal To Emotions
The advertisement I created is an ideal example for my propaganda device Appeal to Emotions.
Appeal to Emotions is when an ad is created specifically for drawing on the viewers emotions in order
to get them to make a donation to a specific organization or cause. The first thing you notice when
looking at this advertisement is the sad expression on the child and the tears running down its face.
When most people see the face of a sad child they begin to feel empathy for the child or feel sadness
themselves about the situation this child is in. Because of these feelings of empathy there is a good
chance this will make them want to help the child if they can. The viewer would most likely then

Jean Valjean Archetypes
At the end of the day there are only two great archetypes in literature: Jean Valjean the Apostle E.F.
opposite Michael Corleone and Iago. To watch someone rise to the pinnacle of creation or fall to its
lowest depths, these are the types of stories that instantly gain our attention. What draws Man to such
stories? Perhaps it lies in the ability of the epic to show the two paths that lie before him, eternal
fulfillment or everlasting guilt. Not only does the musical Les Miserables examine multiple
dimensions of the paths but it also contains the reasoning behind their existence. In other words, not
only is the disease and its progress shown, but also the catching of it in the first place. On top of that
stunning achievement it also successfully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Example Of Monopoly In Monopoly
Do you think Indian Railway is an example for monopoly market? What are the types of price

Introduction
Indian railway is one of the best example for showing monopoly. In economics, monopoly exists when

Politics Is Fueled By Corruption
Politics is fueled by corruption. It causes government involved citizens to over use their power into
manipulating others to achieve what they want. In All the King s Men, written by Robert Pen Warren,
Warren distributes politics to show how Willie Stark transformed. His character gradually deteriorates
as a person throughout the political novel leading up to his death. Warren writes to exemplify politics
and how it ruined lives of well rounded people. Warren demonstrates the role of politics as evil
because he wants to prove the corrupted doings of politics. Novel, All the King s Men, Willie Stark is
slowly, but thoroughly corrupted by multiple political instances that ultimately lead to his death.
Politics has a life of its own. Before anyone ponders the idea of entering politics, people should know
their life as a kind, average citizen will fly out the door. Willie Stark was an old farm boy who had a
life of work. The town loved him as a person; he was kind and courteous to all of the citizens. Before
he had the idea of running for governor, he had what he believed to be the truth set on his mind. He
wanted to make a change to his home town, Mason City, and he wanted there to be truth in the
government. His plans were meant for good, not evil. In All the King s Men, Warren wrote Stark s
opinion, Man is conceived in sin and born in corruption, and he passeth from the stink of the didie to

Types Of Sigma Delta Modulators
Abstract This thesis investigates several types of Sigma Delta modulators in different conditions as a
possible solution to the all digital audio and wifi signal receivers. In this research, two main
approaches are under consideration. Oversampling is a technique to design a sigma delta modulators.
Undersampling(or subsampling) is an interesting technique which allows the sigma delta modulators
to sample high frequency signals such as WIFI and GNSS signals. Time interleaving modulation is
another way to implement  modulators in high frequency domains. Acknowledgement I would like

Disadvantages Of CHO Cells
CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) cells are cell lines extracted from the ovary of the Chinese Hamster
and are exclusively used for commercial purposes in the production of recombinant therapeutic
proteins. Some proteins are to be synthesized using mammalian cells rather than the commonly used
microbial cells as the latter lacks the exact machinery to produce the complete protein or for safety
concerns. Among the mammalian cells, CHO cells continue to be the choice for the production of
several therapeutic proteins.
However there are certain disadvantages associated with CHO cells which include low productivity,
substrate product stability, slower growth rate, low cell density, etc. These cell lines consume nutrients
continuously beyond stoichiometric needs. Thus, the mode of operation should be chosen in such a
way that they overcome the disadvantages of the CHO cell line.
The large scale production of therapeutic proteins in industries is done in suspension culture as the
adherent cell line poses a challenge in scaling up. Currently there are two dominant modes of
operation for producing therapeutic proteins based on mammalian cell lines (Hu and Aunins, 1997) in
industrial scale:

I chose to do my analysis on the film ¨IT¨ directed by Andrés Muschietti. It was released September 8,
2017. The movie runs about 2 hours and 15 minutes. The genre is a drama/thriller film. Some parts
were added in during the editing process to make the clown ¨Pennywise¨ look more realistic. The main
theme is overcoming your fears. Seven kids all have fears and have to overcome it in order to save
their own lives. There are also many smaller themes that I personally noticed such as, growing older.
All seven kids were very young and naive when the movie first started, but once life hit them in the

There are many inequalities in our society based on race and ethnicity. Minority consists of group that

ethnicity. Minorities are people of color, low income, and women. To be a minority means that you are
lefts with the jobs that no else wants, you have limited access to medical care, and are caught up with
stress which leads to bad addictions and poor eating habits. We have the belief that we all have an
equal opportunity in life including equal access to quality education. In schools where there is a larger
group of minorities usually get less funding for their school which does not help children reach their
full potential. Another issue that minorities encounter is that they are usually placed in the lower
paying jobs. The cost of education can be too much for a minority which usually leads them to have
lower paying jobs which stops them from pursuing a better future. I have also seen that minority

Gregorian Era
In the Middle Ages from 450 AD to 1450,AD nearly a thousand years begin the birth of Western
music and the arts. Unlike the music and arts from other eras the culture of arts and music was
enormously sacred and closed minded where only the wise could be involved with those. Even the
rich and the noble were unable to reach, but only the wise and educated ones were the only ones to
pursue. Therefore, most music during the medieval was in voice; although instruments were present,
they were unpopular and considered to be the evil. Most of the songs that were created were the
Gregorian chant and it becomes one major genre and considered to be a religious music that was used
to reflect their spiritual faith and belief. According to history, in the middle Ages, the Gregorian chant
is considered as the grandfather of all Western music. It all begins around early 450 AD during the

  • 2. Factors Affecting Rate of a Reaction, Chemistry Design Lab Chemistry Lab Report (Design) Factors affecting Rates of a Reaction (Kinetics) KINETICS DESIGN LAB Research Question: Does the concentration of Potassium Iodide (KI) affect the rate of its reaction with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) (of a fixed concentration)? Introduction: There are several factors that affect the rate of a reaction. Some of them being Pressure (if the reactants are Gases), Temperature, Presence of a Catalyst, Surface Area of the reactant, and Concentration. According to the Collision Theory, during a reaction, particles collide with each other and react if the geometry of the collision is correct. In this Experiment, we will investigate the effect of varying concentrations of Potassium Iodide on its reaction with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Potassium Iodide particles will increase and the frequency of their collisions with Hydrogen Peroxide particles will also increase, causing them to react quicker. I hypothesize that as I increase the concentration of the Potassium Iodide Solution, the rate at which the blue black starch complex covers the X marking on the tile, will also increase until a point where the rate will remain the same due to all the particles having already finished reacting. 1 ... • 4. Beverage Choices Of Bottled Water Essay We are a 24/7 on the go society who wants convenience in our beverage choices . Kim E. Jeffery, CEO of Nestle Waters North company, made this comment in representation of the largest leader in the bottled water industry. It is no wonder how bottled water became so popular in our society. Healthier than soda, bottled water is conveniently stored in a lightweight, disposable, plastic bottle. Bottled water sales started when Perrier glass bottled water came overseas to America in the late 1970 s and in 1989, water was available in PET plastic bottles (Tapped). Now everywhere, bottled water can even be found in high school cafeterias while there are water fountains located in nearly every hall. However, there is an opposing view to the product with names such as Ice Mountain, Aquafina, Dasani, Sam s Choice, and Acadia. Through research, bottled water is known to carry human pollutants, exceed other natural resource costs, and take part in a large portion of plastic waste, all in a sixteen ounce plastic bottle. Although bottled water is convenient in only a few cases, public education and legislation are necessary because of the human pollutants, costs, and waste. Bottled water is becoming such a growing industry because it does show to be convenient in some cases. As Kim E. Jeffery states, Bottled water provides a healthy alternative at a time when obesity is a growing problem ( Success ). With companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, and Nestle, bottled pop became ... • 5. The Pros And Cons Of UNICEF Unmistakably, innumerable world events have set the stage for a multitude of moments of peace, liberty, and justice throughout the globe that have been long awaited for extensive periods of time. The key formula of momentous changes throughout history have not only been political decisions, but also the commonly associated aspect of warfare. Together, these often chaotic melting pots of policy and conflict have paved the way for ending extensive moments of injustice and hardship while also toppling the authoritative rule of brute dictators such as Adolf Hitler. However, quite commonly the long fought pathways towards victory and sequential freedom leaves behind a long tail of destruction and chaos often paid for in the cost of lives, limbs, damaged societies and post traumatic stress disorder. On the positive side, however, what these long fought battles sometimes give birth to are organizations and policies that emphasize the necessity of not only preserving peace, but also aiding those commonly negatively impacted by those moments of disorder and chaos. A great example of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Dulce Et Decorum Est And Jessie Pope s The poems Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen and Who s for the Game? by Jessie Pope are direct antitheses of each other, such that their views about war, the chosen literary schemes, and the effects on the readers are exact opposites in each view. Who s for the Game? is a strong pro war poem with a simplistic rhyme scheme, basic meaning, shallow imagery, and is intended to provoke and challenge young men into joining the war. Conversely, Dulce et Decorum Est is an anti war poem with a relatively more complicated rhyme scheme, complex meaning, deep imagery, and is intended to discourage those who write such propaganda as Who s for the Game? . The authors of these poems have polar opposite views on the topic of war, and of fighting for one s country. Jessie Pope is pro war, and her poem can be reduced down to provoking propaganda with the intent of encouraging young men into joining the war. Wilfred Owen, a soldier, is anti war, and his poem is a direct message that Fighting and dying for one s country is not sweet or right, it s an ancient lie. Although both of them are notable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, the first three stanzas of Dulce et Decorum Est were used to introduce the background information that was needed to make the punch in the mouth message hit as hard as necessary. Since the poem is a direct response to Who s for the Game? it seems appropriate that it would be opposite, in being indirect to contrast how direct Who s for the Game? with its immediate statement of its message and intent. • 8. The Negative Effects Of Animals In Zoos Negative Effects of Animals in Zoos Zoos, often described as establishments with indoor and outdoor settings where live animals are kept, play a vital role in conserving wild species. Zoo establishments serve the purpose of educating zoo visitors about animals and for providing those animals with proper care, but they are typically used for public exhibition. Most people see zoos as places to take their children to learn more about animals, and as a form of entertainment by allowing people to walk around and look at animals in cages. Others see zoos as places that confine animals from their natural habitat, and as places that interfere with the natural order of the animals. There are many factors that contribute to the negative effects of animals being in zoos, most being the zoo s management, faculty, and the visitors. How zoo faculties are managed is one of the many ways that animals in zoos can be affected negatively. According to Smit, [t]he obvious managerial goal with such facilities is to achieve a level of integration of facilities and services, but a level of integration which is driven by the needs of animals in any given zoological facility (Smit). Smit believes that facilities and services should be combined in a way that has a favorable effect towards the animals. An example of this would be when animal cages are built to accommodate their inhabitants (Smit). Animal cages must be structured well enough for the safety of the animals and in a way that the ... In 1965, B. Tuckman published his idea of how groups assemble by using his Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing model . You could say that his theory is a helpful explanation of team development, but they may differ from one individual to another. The model does explain how the team develops its maturity, through establishing working relationships. It also connotes the leadership style changing; from a directing style, to coaching, then participating and delegating before almost being detached. Stage one of his model is the Forming stage, where the leader must be prepared to answer many questions about the team s purpose and objectives. This was done to mitigate possible losses due to game rentals and game resellers such as GameStop. While this didn t really push in game purchases, it did set the tone for locking certain aspects of a game behind a paywall (Williams). The next step was to intentionally lock not only features, but content behind a paywall. In 2011, Rockstar introduced the first season pass for their game L.A. Noir. This season pass allowed a customer to buy all DLC, or downloadable content (any content that isn t included on the base game, but must be purchased and added to the game), as a big bundle. Every major Greek god has been represented many times in modern media, but Artemis is one of the most dynamically presented characters in all of mythology. This is due to the conflicting nature of the stories previously presented, which has been a source of confusion for many. Nonetheless, people have continuously made stories out of the archer. It also assists in quantifying what art is; the case has been made that artistic license does not equate art, and boundaries help to create context and meaning. In Terry Barrett s book, Why is That Art?: Aesthetics and Criticism of Contemporary Art, he delves into art theory through the lens of realism, cognitivism, and expressionism, using contributions from theorists both ancient and modern. Renowned pop artist, Jeff Koons, presents something of an analytical conundrum in much of his art, as it can be analyzed through the lens of all three categories. His sculpture, Pink Panther, when analyzed through realism, provides a succinct reflection of many deeply ingrained cultural attitudes and expectations. The following will analyze Pink Panther using realism theory, offering a sample process of how such an analysis could occur. It will also subsequently evaluate the interpretation, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses that can be found when applying certain perspectives in art theory to a specific work of art. Types Of Sigma Delta Modulators Abstract This thesis investigates several types of Sigma Delta modulators in different conditions as a possible solution to the all digital audio and wifi signal receivers. In this research, two main approaches are under consideration. Oversampling is a technique to design a sigma delta modulators. Undersampling(or subsampling) is an interesting technique which allows the sigma delta modulators to sample high frequency signals such as WIFI and GNSS signals. Time interleaving modulation is another way to implement  modulators in high frequency domains. • 36. Disadvantages Of CHO Cells CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) cells are cell lines extracted from the ovary of the Chinese Hamster and are exclusively used for commercial purposes in the production of recombinant therapeutic proteins. Some proteins are to be synthesized using mammalian cells rather than the commonly used microbial cells as the latter lacks the exact machinery to produce the complete protein or for safety concerns. Among the mammalian cells, CHO cells continue to be the choice for the production of several therapeutic proteins. However there are certain disadvantages associated with CHO cells which include low productivity, substrate product stability, slower growth rate, low cell density, etc. These cell lines consume nutrients continuously beyond stoichiometric needs. Thus, the mode of operation should be chosen in such a way that they overcome the disadvantages of the CHO cell line. The large scale production of therapeutic proteins in industries is done in suspension culture as the adherent cell line poses a challenge in scaling up. Currently there are two dominant modes of operation for producing therapeutic proteins based on mammalian cell lines (Hu and Aunins, 1997) in industrial scale: Fed batch bioreactors Perfusion ...
