Coretta Scott King Real American Hero A hero to me is somebody that helps people out when
they are in trouble. A hero is somebody who gives people strength to go on from life s
difficulties. A hero is also Somebody who saves people s lives when they hit rock bottom. A
hero is somebody who will put food on the table, somebody who works hard to pay bills make
everybody happy. I also think a hero can be someone who gave up his or her life so another
could live. Somebody that helps their kids to become a better person and to make them happy
and laugh. I also think a hero is somebody that buys stuff like coats, food, scarfs, etc. for
somebody that is homeless. Coretta Scott king was one of the best American heroes of this or any

her parents by working in the farms (Rice, Bradley R. King, Coretta Scott). This is important
because it might have affected the way she viewed how white people treated black people.
When she went to school in the early days, it was affected by the system of segregation. She had
to walk 6 miles a day to and from school and all the white people had to ride the bus. (Rice,
Bradley R. King, Coretta Scott. ) She attended Lincoln High School and graduated as a
valedictorian in 1945. She was enrolled at Antioch College in Yellow Springs Ohio. She
received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education in music. Coretta earned her second collegiate

3. The Cold Side Of The Government And All Their Big Cover Ups
There are many mysteries in this world and one of the big ones is the government and all their
big cover ups. The government has many secrets that many people are absolutely clueless about
what the government is doing with all of our money while doing illegal things that a treaty even
said you cannot do. At this moment, too many people that live in our country think the
government is straight up with everything and they don t lie to us at all. The number one reason
of that is many people are still on their feet because of the government and what they do for the
people . The cold hard truth is they lie and don t tell us anything. They may seem like nice people
on the outside and what they say to believe in but just look them up on the... Show more content on

So, the government has been hiding and secretly doing many things and has yet to tell us and these
few are little compared to what they have done to us. They have been flying around the world with
a reusable unmanned spacecraft, used for many things other than flying, the nasty CIA and what
they have been working on since the start of the Cold War, and finally the USA s new and
definitely improved rail gun that can take down ships in a snap, and what it actually is.
First, the government is stabbing us in the back because they are going to end the world
someday by the looks of the killing spacecraft. Some people may think that it is just for testing
and they are not sure what they will actually do with the spacecraft. Lots of evidence points out
that the USA is making a deadly weapon that has the power to easily take out underground
bunkers and whole cities in fact. First, we start it off when the USA started making the plane and
nobody knew about it. It was just another one of the government experiments that can be deadly
in a heartbeat. Now, many people may call me crazy but, it is the scary truth. There is a satellite
in orbit as we speak and the purpose of it is truly scary. What the purpose of it and this is the scary
and devastating part is video games are truly telling the future. That might not sound scary yet, but
the whole thing is the whole

4. Importance Of Wagons For The Oregon Trail
Wagons for the Trail In the Oregon Trail the people had to have wagons to travel but they had to
be easy to repair on their journey like after going through a river. They had to be able to take
parts off of it when needed. For example, when they needed the wagons to float down the river.
They would be sturdy to fit stuff into and they would not break. They would need to have oxen,
horses, and mules to pull their wagons. According to www.oregontrailcenter.org the bed was a
rectangular wooden box, usually 4 feet wide by 10 feet long. At its front end was a jockey box to
hold tools. The undercarriage was composed of the wheels, axle assemblies, the reach (which
connected the two axle assemblies), the hounds (which fastened

5. Consequences Of Xenophobia
Throughout the years xenophobia has been a plague that has ravaged the lives of many foreign
nationals in South Africa for years. During April of 2015 the wave of brutal action again made the
cover of the news as it started in KwaZulu Natal and eventually managed to spread through to other
parts of South Africalike Gauteng and Durban. In the following essay I will be doing a literature
review of the meaning of and social consequences of xenophobia. I will also look at the social
impact of xenophobia on both local and foreign people and to finish up my essay, I will give a
detailed summarised report of my findings.
Xenophobia can be broken into two words, xeno meaning strange and or different and phobia from
the Greek language meaning, a persistent illogical fear of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

People who are xenophobic may display fear or even rage toward others who are of foreign
descent, even as xenophobia is often used interchangeably with terms such as intolerance and
racial discrimination, these terms have different meanings. Xenophobia has numerous different
effects on the different people suffering through it. These effects range from social to economic.
Socially xenophobia has resulted in despicable acts of violence by black South Africans on other
foreign nationals, with South Africans stating that these foreigners are taking their jobs. These
foreign nationals some of which are shop owners are being ruined by looters who break in and
steal simply because the shop owners are not South African. This brings in the theme of race
relations. Are we as South Africans truly a rainbow nation if we can t even get along with our
fellow African brethren? Because of this, the crime level in South Africahas also risen during the
times of these xenophobic outbreaks, such as in 2008 for example when 60+ people died as a
result of xenophobia. South Africa is the architect its own destruction because of the xenophobic
violence plaguing

6. Jane Goodall Persuasion Techniques
The essay I acknowledge mine by Jane Goodall uses better persuasion techniques than the piece by
American Medical Association. These articles both show great examples of persuasion techniques.
The American Medical Association used more logos and Jane Goodall s piece used more pathos.
Their claims represented two sides of a very heated argument over animal rights. The claim in Jane
Goodall s paper is that animals should not be used in humanstudies more specifically chimpanzees.
While the American Medical Association says that all this testing is required for the advancement
of medicine. They both choose to support their claims very differently. The American Medical
Association (AMA) says many facts and state all the scientific breakthroughs that were achieved
through animal testing. Jane Goodall talks about all the pain and the suffering that the animalsare
going through and relates them to humans. Evidence, Jane Goodall s play on the reader s
emotions in her evidence is strong. She says, I watched as monkeys paced around their tiny
prisons, making bizarre, abnormal movements (Goodall 608). She has a way of using our morality
of humans so that we can relate to these poor little monkeys. The AMA says Animal research holds
the key to solutions for AIDS, cancer, heart disease, aging and congenital... Show more content on

It also says that all these restrictions are just slowing down and discouraging scientific research.
Jane Goodall brings up JoJo and the difference between wild chimps and chimpanzees used in
scientific study. She states that chimps don t benefit the study of AIDs because they rarely exhibit
symptoms. Jane Goodall says that the chimps are prisoners serving for a crime they didn t commit.
That the animals are so like humans that the need to be with their families in the wild and shouldn t

7. Current State Of Fuel And World Energy Demand
Current State of fuel World Energy Demand
Post 18th Century Industrial revolution has created a dependency on fossil fuels such as coal, oil
and natural gas for all technological and transportation demands that engineer modern society.
However. Such demands, and even their expected future demands threatens the overall worlds
energy supply and generates large strains on the environment. The Hydrogen economy article
published by Physics Today in December 2004 anticipated that the world energy demand will
double by 2050 in response to population growth and industrialisation of developing countries.
(Crabtree, Dresselhaus and Buchanan, 2004).
An article by Todd Woody of The Atlantic (Woody, 2013) has stated that developing countries will
account for 65% of the world s energy consumption by 2040. The majority of such consumption
being produced by non OCED nations such as India and China. This figure was published by the
United States Energy Information Administration. This can be summarised as a 2.2% annual
increase in fossil fuel usage in non OCED countries compared to that of 0.5% in OCED
communities such as some of the EU, North America and Australia. Figure 1.1 iProjected world
energy consumption (Eia.gov, 2013)
Further study has shown that due to this increased demand for fossil fuels, the Global Carbon
Project showed a 2.1% increase in greenhouse gas emissions in 2012. With 57% of those emissions
coming from developing countries. India and China contributed a third of

Midterm Essay PO390 International Human Rights Evelyn Alvarez February 21, 2017 Gap in
Humanitarian Aide Humanitarian aide is constantly being picked apart due to their (at times)
inability to complete responsibilities. Moreover, basic communication from one organization to
another is seen as extraneous. If we were to look upon discrepancies within the international
humanitarian system, the lack of uniformity between organizations should be priority.
Inconsistencies such as implementing agencies, dependency germane to financial but also political
disparity, and little to no accountability upheld on behalf of the aide. A vital part of global agencies
of which provide humanitarian aide has to do with the implementation... Show more content on

What happens when projects and interventions undertaken by international NGOs go wrong?
Although my scholarly source understands most of these organizations do not seek to do harm,
nonetheless harm occurs. This article by global development believes with a few legal and
regulatory frameworks setting out how communities can hold NGOs to account, and with even
less support fro communities to engage in such a process, there is a significant accountability
deficit at the heart of international NGOs. Here we talk about accountability in regards to how
NGOs answer to donors or to the national governments of countries in which they are operating.
NGOs should account for the money they spend as contracted agents of donors. And they should,
of course, be working within the parameters of national regulatory frameworks and laws (although
the fact that NGOs themselves often sit on the committees that draw up such regulatory systems is
troubling). When development interventions go wrong, or do not work the way they were
intended, it is often no one s fault, due rather to events beyond any individual or organization s
control. But people s lives are affected, sometimes (as when cholera sweeps through a refugee
camp) with the most tragic of consequences (Global Development). Systems for recognizing the
rights of beneficiaries and the obligations of agencies do exist. The Sphere Project, for example,
sets out in great detail the minimum standards to be expected in, say, a refugee camp. But there are
few legal frameworks capable of holding NGOs to account, or setting out in detail exactly when,
where and how communities might be able to hold an organization accountable for an intervention
that has gone disastrously wrong (Global Development). Unless NGOs and humanitarian agencies
can be legally challenged and held to account, such principles and minimum standards do not do
enough to establish real

9. Causes Of Death In The Death Of Romeo And Juliet
Frequently labelled as one of the greatest and most tragic, love stories of all time, Romeo and
Juliet features two youths from dueling families whose abrupt, yet robust, love ultimately resulted
in their deaths. However, it was not just their whirlwind romance that led to their demise, but also
the actions of many characters who had tried to aid the two lovers. One such character is the
Nurse, who acted as a messenger to arrange Romeo and Juliet s wedding. Despite the Nurse s
interference, which helped fester Romeo and Juliet infatuation for each other, which eventually led
them to killing themselves; Friar Lawrence bears the most responsibility for Romeo and Juliet s
death because he was the one who married them in the first place, sent... Show more content on

By my brotherhood, The letter was not nice but full of charge, Of dear import, and the
neglecting it May do much danger... (Shakespeare 5.2.17 20) Demonstrating how the friar failed
to complete the one action that may have saved both Romeo and Juliet s lives, these lines
further prove his guilt as it portrays him complaining to the inefficient messenger, Friar John,
about his negligence. The following lines further cement his guilt as it states that he had not one
but two chances to deliver the letter to Romeo, and yet again disappointed: But I will write again to
Mantua, (Shakespeare 5.2. 27). As briefly explained above, Friar Lawrence was the one who
produced and mobilized the plan which directly led to Romeo and Juliet s suicide. Once Juliet
heard the news of the engagement she fled to the friar s cell, and once again, he informed her of
the rapidly formed plan as follows: Hold, daughter. I do spy a kind of hope, . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

11. The Prediction Of Fullerene Structure
Fullerene was first recorded in a Japanese article, Kagaku, written by Eiji Osawa in 1970 which
stated the prediction on the existence of C60 compound [1]. In the following year, a conjecture on
the stability of C60 was established by Osawa and Yoshida where the aromatic characteristic of
C60 was described further. The stability was further better explained when the HГјckel s calculation
method was applied and introduced to the icosahedron structure of C60 by Bochvar and Gal pern
[2]. The prediction of fullerenestructure was discussed based on graphiteballoon speculation made
by David Jones using pseudonym of Daedalus in a journal, The Scientist [3]. This speculation was
essentially describing the gas phase carboncluster in the form of geodesic cages which is applied to
giant fullerenes compound [2].
Fullerenes can be described as closely packed carbon cages hold in rings of, most commonly,
hexagons and pentagons with sp2 hydridised carbons. In some larger structure with more than 100
carbons, heptagonal rings may present. A large numbered fullerene will require larger cage to
obtain the most least steric angle between the bonds and the structure might have a surface of
concaved [4]. Figure 1 and Figure 2 show the cage structures of fullerenes C60 and C70. Both of
these fullerenes are the most stable fullerene with more planar and larger nearly spherical structure
and have higher thermodynamic stability with positive enthalpy change of formation, ∆H_f [4].

A GUI is the revolution way of using and pointers, windows, menus, and icons interfaces
incorporating into UI elements. These features allow users to interact with applications across
innumerable platforms like PDAs, mobile devices, and laptops. Thus, let s take a moment to
imagine this scenario: How would you feel if you entered a library in hopes of finding the ideal
book for a research paper, only to find nothing but endless rows of unlabeled sections? Perhaps
you could use the computer to access the section and a name, but the effort is pointless since they
sections are unidentified. To add to your disarray not only are the sections not categorized, but
books are scattered among sections having no designated area. Clearly, this layout classifies as
mind boggling and nonsensical. Furthermore, for this purpose developers must heed the design
phase by not only being creative but thinking like a user as well. Developers must concentrate on
those factors that render an application user friendly. Clarity should be the first step towards
ensuring an application functionality; the user should not feel confounded. On the contrary, they
ought to perceive the application as informative, easy to use and deploy the application with
confidence. Discuss whether or not the application behavior follows your definition of Good GUI

Frankenstein; or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley tells an interesting tale of a young
scientist and his attempt to create life and the unfortunate circumstances that occur afterwards. He

to Frankenstein the monster s coming of knowledge in this world and we learn about how the

A man by the name of Harvey Milk has left a mark on those in support of and the community of

gay community and the Castro district of San Francisco through his contributions in politics and

to hold political office in United States history.
Harvey Milk was born in Woodmere, New York to a Jewish family. He played football and

in Mathematics and minored in History. Upon graduation, Milk entered the United States Navy
serving during the Korean War. He served the nation for four years and was then discharged from
the Navy as a junior grade lieutenant for suspicion of homosexuality.
Homosexuality was looked down upon in this time period. A person could be arrested, even on

Problem Statement From the end of prohibition in 1933 to the turn of the new millennium,
Georgia s craft beer industry had seen more failure than success. Over a 67 year span, 9 of the 14
microbreweries to operate in the state failed. Was it the cost and availability of big beer and
product loyalty that caused this to happen?
But in 2013, Georgia s craft beer industry took a drastic turn. Microbreweries were opening at an
exponential rate. That year, Creative Loafing, an alternative news weekly, reported eight
microbreweries opening in the city of Atlanta, alone. Georgia had entered into a craft beer boom.
Today, there are 31 microbreweries operating in Georgia, and 24 more in planning, bringing the
total to 55 of these small production breweries. What could have changed to cause an historically
failed industry to boom in such a short period of time?
Millennials.
According to U.S. Census data, Georgia s population of Millennials, defined as those born between
1980 and 2000, significantly increased between 2010 and 2014, the generation growing from
15.3% of the population in 2010 to 26.61% of the population in 2014. (Pew Research, U.S. Census).
Earlier this year, Forbes reported that the group with the most purchasing power in the United

U.S. alone will spend around $200 billion annually by 2017.

Disposing of these tactics, and thinking in a lateral direction, can afford a tactical advantage over a

between victory and defeat, and can be necessary to establish dominance within the area of conflict.
Jay Conrad Levinson (2007) was the first to directly apply these concepts to the businessworld with

(1986) quickly followed with their push to embrace analogies between the marketing and military

Benefits to Small Business The Bolton Committee (1971) sought to define small enterprise by the
following criteria: they own a small market share, are managed by owners or co owners and operate
independently of any large firm (as cited in Bach, 2007, p.15). Bach (2007) concluded that, in an
effort to survive against the influence of larger businesses with their expanded budgets and reach,
these small businesses must rely on their ability to innovate and segment the market. These
enterprises are critical for employing workers across the job market and further spurning
competitiveness (Bach, 2007). Gruber (2004) noted that, in addition to limited financial resources,
small and new businesses are often restricted by the uncertainty of market predictability and
marketing planning. Doyle s research surmised that due to these externalities the process of
building credibility and establishing competitive advantage regarded as one of the most important
determinants in early success could most effectively be achieved through unconventional means (as
cited in Gruber, 2004, p.188). This entirely different approach, in which large ad budgets don t exist,

Whats In The Night The retelling of spooky ghost stories has been a favorite activity in many
cultures, wether it be around a campfire of written in various articles and book. Perhaps one of
the most mysterious supernatural activities can be reported on the islands of Hawaii. Known as
the Night Marchers, these spirits have been known to roam the land, revisiting ancient war sites
and significant historical landmarks. In the book, Marchers of the Night by Helen P. Hoyt, a
renowned Hawaiian author, he describes his first experience with the Huaka ipo, or the Night
Marchers. In all the hundred years of my life I have seen the Marchers of the Night, the Huaka ipo,

1918, a night sacred to Ku, ancient god of all warriors the Night Marchers, which their torches and
pounding drums came to his house in the town of Waianae. Based on the many stories about the
Night Marchers and the other cultures around the world who have similar spirits, I will attempt to
demonstrate that these ghosts are more fact than fiction. Hawaiihas a rich background of folklores
and mythology and it s link to the past in ever present. Stories of the Night Marchers were first

The Gender of Sports
What are the social and cultural costs and benefits of an individual (male or female) entering a non

In today s society, particularly in the United States, an individual entering a non traditional sport for
his/her gender takes on many tasks besides playing the sport, the individual also takes on the
criticism (good or bad) of people who play the sport and those who watch it too. There are many
social and cultural costs as well as benefits, but to what extent mostly depends on the sport and the

So even before the league started, someone felt that he/she had to prove that not all aggressive
female athletes are gay. It s funny, but in a sad way, that women have to prove their sexual identity,
but the men s are never questioned.
The social and cultural costs of this intermingling of sexes starts with the genders that are tied to
each sport, which then puts the individual s sexuality at question. If a woman enters a male sport
she will be considered a lesbian and if a male entered a woman sport then he would be tagged
with a gay identity. The player now has two jobs, succeed at the game and prove their sexuality,
just like what the commercials were doing for the WNBA, proving the maternity of the players.
Also, if an individual is of a different race or social class, then people tend to attack that side of
the person. For example, some might say that the only reason why a person is good is because
of their color or the only reason why someone has the opportunity is because he/she came from a
wealthy background. Many people in today s society will find anything about someone to attack
them and prove that what that individual is doing is wrong and bad for society and/or for the
sport and apply labels to them. These labels lead to harassment and when it is not dealt with
appropriately it can contribute to many social crises . It may interfere with and affect an individual

26. The Use Of Artificial Light Sources And Prevent Any...
The majority of laboratories housing Xenopus laevis make use of artificial light sources and
prevent any natural lighting from entering the laboratory. Although Xenopus laevis thrive and
reproduce over a wide range of photoperiod, recommendations are periods of 14 hour light and 10
hour dark which mimic conditions in a natural habitat (Major Wassersug, 1998). Inappropriate
photoperiods, light deprivation or continuous light may prove detrimental and cause symptoms of
lethargy, sterility and even death (Hayes et al., 1998). Slow and steady dimming and illuminating
of lights is preferred to abruptly switching on and off, as this allows the animalto adapt to the
change and is potentially less stressful to the animal (Reed, 2005).
2.3.6.2Humidity
Xenopus laevis frogs are completely aquatic. Therefore, controlling humidity levels in an
aquarium housing the tanks for these animals is not as crucial as for a species that spends
prolonged periods of time on dry land (Reed, 2005).

Quantity and depth of water provisions are poorly outlined, but as long as the animal can swim

desired and swim in any direction without obstruction or hindrance from other animals or tank
walls, it is considered acceptable. The quality of water is more important, with a pH maintained

The main character we are meant to focus on is Nazneen. Through the character of Nazneen we

with Nazneen s marriage. This could be the reason for the forced marriage. Also Nazneen
completely accepts it and this could be because she has seen the consequences it had on her sister.
There are two clear parts to the story: one about the life in the Pakistani village and the other in
the English estate. Although there is a big distance between the two places and also a big

29. Aquifer Depletion
The High Plains Aquifer encompasses approximately 174,000 square miles and stretches from
Texas to South Dakota (Fig. 1). This aquifer is also known as the Ogallala Aquifer due to the
geologic formation that it lies above. The development of this aquifer along with glacial till
produced through the retreat of glaciers during previous ice ages, has yielded a very productive
region for farming. The High Plains Aquifer is a valuable natural resource for farmers within the
area, but several factors have caused the depletion of this aquifer. Some of the factors that have
caused the depletion include a slow rate of recharge, the overlying formation, and heavy pumping
within the aquifer. For an aquifer to recharge quickly, the overlying formation must consist of a
permeable and porous lithologic unit. These rock units will allow for water to easily pass through
them and into the underlying aquifer for storage. Much of the sediment that makes up the aquifer
consists of sand, silt, and gravel that were derived from runoff of the Rocky Mountains. Recharge is
from precipitation, infiltration, and groundwaterflow through the porous and permeable overlying
lithologic unit to the aquifer. The High Plains Aquifer is situated within a semiarid climate

Today, abortion has become another political issue, rather than the intimate choice of a woman.
Abortion isn t a new issue because in the case, Roe vs. Wade, the court s decision was the first

forty one years since this case was passed is abortionan issue again? Abortion is often presented as
if it is new and people have just started doing it years ago, when in reality the practice of abortion
has dated back to ancient times. Abortion is the trending topic once again because The
Affordable Care Act , also known as Obama care , has made abortion an issue with its new
expansion of abortion coverage. This paper will examine all of the harmful ways abortions can

to be quite the opposite. In discussing the Cold War throughout this period, you will catch a glimpse
of the various events that put the united states and the West on the defensive against communism.
At the end of World War II Stalin s post War vision involved defying the U.S and creating buffer

34. Advantage Of Direct Method
I realized that students must be taught things that they cannot learn on their own at home and that
are the hardest for them, they must learn to speak, and to achieve this goal I think the Direct
Method is the best for several reasons. The Direct Method gets a great response among the
beginners who start to speak a foreign language from the very beginning. Intermediate and
advanced students like the method as well; they appreciate primarily the fact that the DM method
helps them transform theory into practice . To them, the pace of the lesson is very important since
it enables them to repeat things as well as learn a lot of new words and phrases.
The Direct Method is also known as the Oral or Natural method. It s based on the active

There are various situations that can not be dramatized or acted out. Especially with intermediate
and advanced language material, dramatization in various cases becomes impossible, and wastes a
lot of time because some teachers are excessively rigorous in applying the Direct Method and
eliminate the native language completely. This can result in non learning or very little learning. The
student s dissatisfaction in the long run causes and invalidates the classroom situation. In spite of
these objections, the Direct Method has still been used and defended rigorously by various teachers
in different parts of the world. It is true that the Direct Method is superior to the grammar translation
method in many ways. It has brought in to language teaching a clear purpose, and more important,
a technique both of which have been tremendous importance and benefit. We are not now at that
point to reject the Direct Method as a hole, and it is not wise to ignore the advantages which it has
introduced. It is superior to several of the older methods because it has emphasized the importance
of language contact, and it is not only by the Direct Methodists that the idea of learning a foreign
language for communication has been put forward. (king

35. Summary Of Keegan s Battle Of The Somme
In his description of the Battle of the Somme, Keegan provides a critical analysis of the strategy
and the motivations behind the battle. After the prolonged butchery of the French at Verdun, Joffre
and Haig agreed that a new offensive at the Somme would have to being sooner rather than later
(Keegan 216). Keegan relates that the Allied plan for the offensive consisted of a week long
artillery bombardment followed by a barrage, which consisted of infantry movement behind a line
of more artillery. Keegan relates that the main goals of the first bombardment were to cut German
communications lines and halt German movement, preventing the Germans from preparing before
the Allied infantry was nearly on top of them. The Allied forces believed that... Show more content

However, after the British began to advance, it became clear that the devastation of the German side
was only superficial. Many British troops found immediate German resistance upon leaving their
trenches. Though the plan had not followed through, Keegan describes that the British forces
continued their advance. Keegan explains that this seemingly illogical press by the British was the
result of the interplay of multiple factors. Keegan expresses his belief that one major cause of the
continued advance was the composition of the Kitchener armies. The British forces contained an
unusually large number of volunteers as a part of its army. These men were mostly unexperienced
and often undersized and unprepared physically, although Keegan maintains that these men were
part of a strong patriotic movement that provided them with mood of self sacrifice (261). Keegan
believes that this attitude, coupled with the usual military sense of commitment to a plan even
while sustaining heavy casualties, led the men to press onwards (261). Keegan also cites a lack of
communication and communication technologies as a source of the continued advance. However,
Keegan does not expand much on the effect that the inexperience of

37. An Analysis Of Rick Moody s Boys
Each story makes use of a very unique tone and form of narration yet these same qualities can be
compared to some extent across these essays. The authors utilize different forms of writing to
convey their intended focus to the audience. I found each story relative to one another in that they
all seemed to touch of the subject of the roles of different genders in our contemporary society
maybe even across different cultures.
Rick Moody s short story Boys is written with a distinct style. The author uses a form of a stream
of consciousness to convey the purpose at hand, which encompasses writing as if without
hesitation or editing whatever came to Moody s thoughts, he transferred to text. There was also
a substantial use of the word boys , placing emphasis on the central meaning of the story. The
style is thoroughly descriptive and fails to leave any details of the boys lives out. This quality
donates a sense of reality and creates a bond between the reader and the characters. The tone of
the story comes of as particularly unbiased and serious, as if the author were just stating purely
factual information. As events become more somber in the boys lives, the author approaches a
more sympathetic tone. The boys were supposed to be kids, fooling around playing games and
living a care free childhood, but these boys found themselves in scenarios no boy or child should
ever encompass.

Amidst the global attempts to establish worldwide peace on a moral ground, there are still several
events where international security, peace, and justice are sacrificed for national benefits, as, for
example, seen in the United States nonintervention policy, which prioritizes national sovereignty. In
his book Moral Man and Immoral Society, Reinhold Niebuhr indicated that each nation state had a
collective egoism that was beyond moral or rational explanation. Although the book was published
in 1932, well before any realization of human rights protection law or organization, Niebuhr s
message remains true to the present context: the contemporary culture, religious or secular, still
fails to recognize the collective egoism in human institutions. His argument regarding the dynamics
of power remains relevant. However, there is a sign of hope, as there are numerous organizations
aimed to reduce each nation s collective egoism and emphasizes why a... Show more content on

I believe that this is plagerism or schoolastic dishonesty. I belive this because plagerism is
defined as teh practice of taking somone else s work or ideas and passing them off as one s own.
In other words plagerism is an act of fraud. In the text Miguel ask Alyssa to tellhim the anwers to
questions on the test. This means that the answers Miguel provideson his test are not his own
and by definition are plagerized. I believe that Miguel and Alyssa are at fault for plagerizm. I
believe this because the following took place in the text, Miguel asked Alyssa for the answers
and Alyssa moved her arm so that Miguel could see her paper. Justin see s what is taking place but
did not participate in the act so he is not at fault for plagerizm.

I handed off my ice cream to my dad, and stared down at my hands, glistening drops of water

Suddenly, it was as if my memory went on replay. Memories of dressing up my dog and pushing
him around in my strollers meant for dolls. The way he would never complain even if I handled
him roughly. His deep, dark brown eyes framed by his rounded face covered in curly, white fur. I
remembered playing with him in the grass a couple days after we had moved to Texas, relishing
in the warmth of the sun, so unfamiliar for that season to someone who has lived in the North.
Until then, I had thought that was something that happened if you were the one dying, and

42. The Government Bioethics Conspiracy Of The United States
World governments have frequently relied on unknowing participants and or prisoners of war for
experimentation. While these experiments range vastly concerning procedures, outcomes, and
justification, they all existed to outsmart international enemies efficiently. The government
bioethics conspiracy I researched is Project MKUltra. This was a secretive CIA program that
experimented with mind control, hallucinogenic drugs, and the behavioral engineering of
humans from 1953 to 1973. Because the program existed for a couple decades, it encompassed a
wide range of experiments, types of patients, and immense secrecy. More often than not, test
subjects were not aware of tests to be conducted and thought they were participating in standard
medical tests at first. Despite the program coming to a halt, many believe human
experimentation is still ongoing and don t see a future without secret government research.
Project MKUltra was initiated by the CIA and the U.S. Army s CHemical Corps in the early
1950 s and quickly became an immense project that covered over 80 institutions, and involved
hundreds of scientists. (Horrock, Nicholas M. (4 Aug 1977). 80 Institutions Used in C.I.A. Mind

In the case of East Harlem, rising crime fears are accompanied by an obvious statistical
explanation: Countering trends in most of the city, crime there has increased drastically. Over
the past year, it has gone up by 17 percent, according to Police Department figures, with increases
in rape, robbery and felony assault, among other transgressions. (Bellafante) Both of these
examples show that crime in East Harlem is a common thing that is part of their daily life.
Similarly, in Bodega Dreams there are times when Chino notices crime taking place around him.
Fires, junkies dying, shootouts, holdups, babies falling out of windows were things you took as
part of life. (5) Students who attend schools can be affected by their culture, race and background,

44. Nazi Germany And The World War II
The year was 1941 and World War II had been going on for two years since it started in 1939.
Nazi Germany had gained much territory and controlled over three fourths of Europe. The only
countries not conquered controlled or allied with Germany in Europe were Sweden, Switzerland,
Russia and England. Both Sweden and Switzerland were neutral during the war, so the two biggest
threats to Germany was England and Russia. (Patrick Shrier 08/06/2006)
On June 22, 1941 the third reich (Nazi Germany) invaded Russia in an attempt crush the nation
and the Red Army. Hitler had been planning the invasion at the since 1940 because Russia
rejected to be a part of Tripartie, which was supposed to be an alliance between Germany, Italy,
Japan and Russia. Hitler wanted the best conditions for his army to succeed the invasion. He
originally planned on the invasion taking place late April or early may, because that was when the
spring thaw was over and the ground was dry enough for his tanks to move without getting stuck in
the muddy terrain. (Patrick Shrier 08/06/2006)
Russia was a major superpower during World War 2 because of its size and the raw materials
that had major impact on the war. If Germany conquered and took control of Russia it would
drastically change the war and the outcome of it. If Germany would have conquered Russia they
would have access to all of the raw materials and they would be able to enter countries all over
Europe and even Asia.

45. Biological Theory And Psychological Theory
Now day s murder becomes very common in all countries due to increased desires and due to
increased competition. Unlawfully killing of one human by another especially with a desire to
harm others and see others suffering from pain, these are planned or sometimes unplanned. Murder
done by convict (Hashmukhial Mistry) because of depressed mind and family conflicts.
This essay explains the application of biological theory in case of Hashmukhial Mistry killed his
wife and his father before taking his own life. Biological theory is originated from Social trait
theory, deviant trait theory and psychological theory.
Biological theory of crime assumes that a person lead to criminal activities just because of their
physical attributes. Physical characteristics are generally transferred from parents to children. If
certain physical attributes which force a individual to do some criminal activities are transferred to
child from their parents that make the child more at risk of committing the crimes. Children mostly
learn all the things from the family and society which increased day by day with increasing age.
Johan Casper Lavater believed that shape of the skull and other facial features impacted human to
conduct criminal activities. Charles Goring developed a study that compared prisoners with
member of the Royal Engineer of London and found no differences in facial features or skull size
between the two groups. However, Goring did conclude that he prisoners tended to have

Analysis Paper 1
A Rose for Emily and A Good Man is Hard to Find
The writing style of southern gothic uses many different techniques such as macabre, ironic events
that look at the values of the south. Two writers that are famous for the southern gothic style are
William Faulkner and Flannery O Conner. Faulkner s short story A Rose for Emily, depicts a well
rounded woman who is discovered to have a rotting corpse of her husband in her bedroom, and O
Conner s short story A Good Man is Hard to Find , that shows a southern family s death at the hand
of a ruthless murderer are both extremely good examples of southern gothic story. While both of
these great writers use southern gothic style they both still use it to demonstrate very different
aspects of southern culture. By comparing and contrasting these two great southern gothic style
writers you will be able to see just how different an author can write a story that still have the same
style of writing just by using a few different techniques. I will focus more on the how the works
achieve their effect, their insight into a human problem, their presentation of emotion and
consciousness, and their giving the reader pleasure.
The single most important aspect that defines southern gothic writing is the use of macabre, or
malformed, events. These distinguished events are easy identified in both of these short stories.

In the period 1865 1900, technology, government policy, and economic conditions all changed
American agriculture a great deal. New farming machinery had a large role in the late 19th century,
giving farmers the opportunity to produce many more crops than they had ever been able to
previously. The railroads had an enormous influence on agriculture. They were able to charge the
farmers large fees, expenses that farmers barely had enough to cover, in order to transport their
goods throughout the expansive country. The booming industry also changed American agriculture,
creating monopolies and gaining incredible wealth with which the farmers simply could not

Document C shows how the farmers eventually got prices to lower in Illinois, although not all
states were as successful in putting restrictions or limits on the prices. The Supreme Court used
the 14th amendment to favor the large industries and monopolies, like the railroad. In most cases
it was ruled that profits (even excess ones) are a property right and states cannot regulate these
profits because it goes against due process and equal protection under the law. These rulings made
it very hard for individual states to interfere and put any limitations on these high prices. One of the
most heated debates of the time period was over the gold standard monetary policy. In Document
E the crop lien system or sharecropping is demonstrated. It shows how the farmers are profiting
little or no money at all by the 1880 s, however the government, along with the wealthier citizens,
were trying to implement a gold standard, eliminating silver currency altogether and creating
some deflation. The farmers, most of whom were already in debt, advocated strongly against this
monetary policy. They were in favor of a bimetallistic system. The Farmer s were already indebted
to the people they leased their land from, and if there was a monetary policy, the amount of money
they owed would remain the same, however the value of that money would increase. Document J is
a clear opposition to the monetary policy by the farmers. Through the fight
