Since September 2022, my role focuses on developing and implementing
the Consumer Debt Defense (CDD). CDD aims to reduce the default rate of
consumer debt litigants and provide stability in a holistic approach by having
volunteer attorneys present at first hearings to prevent bad judgments. This
project was funded by Pro Bono Innovation Fund.
In addition, I represent clients in divorce and security deposits.
Previously, I coordinated pro bono legal services involving survivors of
domestic violence, elder abuse, and VOCA programs. Coordinated all
aspects and day-to-day operations of the volunteer attorney who accepted
referrals. This included the placement of domestic abuse injunctions, divorces,
consumer, housing, probate, and other legal subjects.
Moreover, I assisted in supervising the unemployment compensation clinic
which includes overseeing law school interns. This program pairs clients
with volunteers to get assistance in understanding their appeal and gathering

in ALJ hearings and writing briefs to LIRC.
Hampden County Bar Association
Staff Attorney
January 2019 - March 2020 (1 year 3 months)
Springfield, Massachusetts Area
My role focused on developing and implementing the Consumer Debt Initiative
(CDI). CDI aims to reduce the default rate of consumer debt litigants and
provide stability in a holistic approach by having volunteer attorneys present
at first hearings to prevent bad judgments. During my time overseeing CDI,
we saved consumers just under $200,000. Furthermore, my duties included
developing training materials and information packets for volunteer attorneys
and clinic clients.
I assisted in coordinating and assisting the Western Division Housing Court
volunteer attorneys to help represent unrepresented litigants in eviction cases.
This allows both pro se tenants and landlords access to an attorney to address
whether negotiation, mediation, or trial is the best course of action. The
ultimate goal is to provide housing stability and prevent improper evictions.
I coordinated and managed the weekly Lawyer for the Day clinics which
revolve around Housing, District (Civil), and Probate & Family legal issues
where litigants can be provided with brief legal advice from a volunteer
attorney to address issues or get clarification on the status of there case.
During my time, we increased volunteers by 32%, increased service hours
by 240%, and double the number of clients served. I helped to create
opportunities for Western New England law students to volunteer and work
alongside licensed attorneys in both in-office and in-court locations.
