A Novel Technique in Software Engineering for Building Scalable Large Paralle...Eswar Publications
Parallel processing is the only alternative for meeting computational demand of scientific and technological advancement. Yet first few parallelized versions of a large application code- in the present case-a meteorological Global Circulation Model- are not usually optimal or efficient. Large size and complexity of the code cause making changes for efficient parallelization and further validation difficult. The paper presents some novel techniques to enable change of parallelization strategy keeping the correctness of the code under control throughout the modification.
Neemrana is an ancient town located 90 km from Gurgaon in Rajasthan's Alwar district. It lies on the Delhi-Jaipur highway and features a 14th century hill fort that was once ruled by the Chauhan dynasty. The most famous tourist attraction in Neemrana is the Neemrana Fort, built in 1464 AD, which once served as the third capital under Raja Rajdeo for descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III. The fort-palace is now one of India's oldest heritage resorts. Several education institutions are also located in Neemrana, including engineering, aviation, and international schools.
A Survey on the Mobile Sink Hierarchical Routing Protocols in the Wireless Se...Eswar Publications
This document summarizes and compares various hierarchical routing protocols for wireless sensor networks with mobile sinks. It describes protocols that use grids, clustering, trees, backbones, and environmental structures to create virtual hierarchies in the network. The protocols are evaluated based on factors like overhead, support for multiple sinks, data aggregation ability, and type of virtual structure. Some examples of protocols discussed are TTDD, GBEER, HCDD, EEMSRA, and MSRP which use grids, clustering, or trees to organize the network and route data to a mobile sink efficiently.
The Lean Startup Method and Its Value for TestersJosiah Renaudin
A startup is an organization created to deliver a new product or service under conditions of extreme uncertainty. Approximately 40 percent of all startups will cease operations with investors losing everything; 95 percent will fall short of their financial projections. And the number one cause of failure? No one wants to buy their product. Eric Ries, author of The Lean Startup, learned that under conditions of extreme uncertainty, classical management methods do not bring success. He formulated the Lean Startup Methodology based on his and others’ experiences. This methodology consists of five important ideas: (1) Build-Measure-Learn (BML) loop, (2) Minimum Viable Product (MVP), (3) Validated Learning, (4) Customer Development, and (5) One Metric That Matters. Lee Copeland believes these keys to the Lean Startup methodology have great value for testers. Come and discover how the BML loop is similar to exploratory testing, how the MVP idea suggests a Minimum Viable Set of Tests, how Customer Development suggests developing clients for your testing services, and more. Learn how to apply Lean Startup ideas in your testing organization.
This document discusses the grammar of visual design according to Gunther Kress and Theo van Leeuwen. It notes that visual structures point to particular interpretations of experience and forms of social interaction. Meanings belong more to culture than specific modes of communication. The visual grammar described applies broadly to contemporary Western cultures, shaped by global mass media. Signs are motivated and built by sign makers within social and historical contexts, rather than being pre-existing or arbitrary.

Liudvikas Andriulis, chief marketing officer at Effortel, says that because Amdocs Compact Convergence (ACC) is built for mobile virtual network enablers (MVNEs) and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), it is the strategic choice for companies of this domain. Effortel is an MVNE that operates across six countries, and has 11 MVNOs on its platform. All of Effortel’s operations run through a single platform of Amdocs Compact Convergence. The ACC platform enables them to market globally, operate with different service providers and increase Time to Market for products and services. Adriulis highlights advanced service creation tools and flexibility as a couple of the reasons that Amdocs Compact Convergence is the best solution for MVNOs and MVNEs.
This document discusses sustainable living and waste diversion in Chicago. It outlines problems with current waste systems like plastic pollution in oceans and lack of transparency around recycling rates. The goal is to copy Sweden's zero waste model which diverts nearly all waste from landfills through high recycling and incineration rates. The plan involves improving education, implementing gamification and incentives to increase recycling, and making data more transparent to work towards zero waste.
Testing in the New World of Off-the-Shelf SoftwareJosiah Renaudin
Testing an off-the-shelf, sometimes called COTS, system? Often, project managers and stakeholders mistakenly believe that one benefit of purchasing software is that there is little, if any, testing required. This could not be further from the truth. Testing COTS software requires a different focus from traditional testing approaches. Although no software package will be delivered free of bugs, the testing focus from the purchasing organization’s perspective is not on validating the base functionality. Gerie Owen and Peter Varhol share a framework for testing COTS packages and discuss in detail each of the major focus areas―customizations and configurations, integration, data, and performance. Discover how to work with business processes and integration maps to design an effective test strategy. Whether you are testing a small COTS package or a large enterprise COTS application, join Gerie and Peter to learn how to focus your testing effectively and develop a new test skill set.
This document outlines steps for optimizing the onboarding process, including raising awareness of the product or service, gaining consideration from potential customers, activating new customers, and ensuring conversion through the onboarding funnel. Key activities are listed under each step such as marketing, trials, tutorials, and feedback to improve the new user experience. The overall goal is to improve the onboarding process through this framework.
