Long Term Goals Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Long Term Goals" presents a unique set of challenges that
often go beyond the typical essay-writing hurdles. The difficulty lies not only in conveying your
aspirations but also in articulating a clear and compelling narrative that captivates the reader's
attention while providing a structured framework for your long-term objectives.
One of the primary challenges is striking a balance between ambition and feasibility. While it's
essential to dream big and articulate grandiose aspirations, it's equally crucial to ground your
goals in reality. It requires careful thought to map out a trajectory that is not only inspiring but
also practical.
Another hurdle lies in the introspective aspect of the essay. Delving deep into one's long-term
goals demands self-reflection and a keen understanding of personal motivations. Expressing
these thoughts in a coherent and engaging manner can be a complex task, as it requires a level of
vulnerability and sincerity that may not be customary in other forms of writing.
Moreover, crafting an essay on long-term goals involves the challenge of maintaining a sense of
unity and coherence throughout the piece. The narrative should flow seamlessly from past
experiences to present endeavors and future ambitions, creating a cohesive storyline that
resonates with the reader.
In addition, the essay should transcend mere enumeration of goals. It must provide insights into
the underlying values, passions, and motivations that drive these aspirations. This requires a
skillful blend of storytelling and analytical thinking to ensure that the reader not only
comprehends your goals but also connects with the person behind them.
As the writer, you must also navigate the fine line between confidence and humility. Presenting
your long-term goals requires a level of conviction, but it's essential to avoid coming across as
presumptuous or overly self-assured. Striking this delicate balance can be challenging but is
crucial for creating a persuasive and relatable essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on long-term goals demands a nuanced approach that combines
vision with practicality, introspection with eloquence, and confidence with humility. Successfully
navigating these challenges will result in a compelling narrative that not only outlines your
aspirations but also provides a glimpse into the person aspiring to achieve them.
If you find yourself grappling with this task, seeking assistance is a viable option. Similar essays

Causes Of Death In The Death Of Romeo And Juliet
Frequently labelled as one of the greatest and most tragic, love stories of all time,
Romeo and Juliet features two youths from dueling families whose abrupt, yet
robust, love ultimately resulted in their deaths. However, it was not just their
whirlwind romance that led to their demise, but also the actions of many characters
who had tried to aid the two lovers. One such character is the Nurse, who acted as a
messenger to arrange Romeo and Juliet s wedding. Despite the Nurse s interference,
which helped fester Romeo and Juliet infatuation for each other, which eventually led
them to killing themselves; Friar Lawrence bears the most responsibility for Romeo
and Juliet s death because he was the one who married them in the first place, sent...

the neglecting it May do much danger... (Shakespeare 5.2.17 20) Demonstrating
how the friar failed to complete the one action that may have saved both Romeo
and Juliet s lives, these lines further prove his guilt as it portrays him complaining
to the inefficient messenger, Friar John, about his negligence. The following lines
further cement his guilt as it states that he had not one but two chances to deliver the
letter to Romeo, and yet again disappointed: But I will write again to Mantua,
(Shakespeare 5.2. 27). As briefly explained above, Friar Lawrence was the one who
produced and mobilized the plan which directly led to Romeo and Juliet s suicide.
Once Juliet heard the news of the engagement she fled to the friar s cell, and once
again, he informed her of the rapidly formed plan as follows: Hold, daughter. I do

He was the mayor of New York for over 10 years that means he worked hard enough
and people wanted him back to work for a longer time. He has changed many lives
by donating some of his wealth to charitable causes. He wanted to further
education by donating money to get the school news supplies and better training
for the teachers. He works very hard and you can tell by how much money he can
bring in. His net worth is 36.5 billion dollars! That s a lot of money, but some of
that money is donated. This concludes that he is not self centered and that he doesn
t just care for himself. Another point that he isn t self centered, he was the mayor so

Manifest Destiny Essay
When we think about power, what comes to mind is usually related to money and
authority. We tend to forget that the most powerful tool we have lies within our
thoughts and beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. After the thirteen
colonies separated from Britainvia the Declaration of Independence, a sense of pride
and nationalism began developing in the minds of many Americans. This became
apparent when the concept of manifest destiny began circling the country in the
1840s. This paper will discuss what the concept of manifest destiny is and how it
influenced westward expansion.
Manifest destiny is the belief that God had destined the land from the Atlantic to
the Pacific ocean to be part of the states. In 1803, the Louisiana Purchase was made
and Lewis and Clark were sent to take notes and bring back information about the
land. A side effect of their journey was the curiosity that bloomed within the people.
Similarly, Richard Henry Dana published Two Years Before the Mast in 1840, a
book that described the coast of California and further enhanced people s dreams.
Another thing that brought about manifest destiny was the intense immigration of
Europeans from 1824 1848, which meant more people would need to move west.
However, there were some obstacles to acquiring the land between the Atlantic and
Pacific, as some land was occupied by Britain and Mexico such as the Oregon
territory and Texas.
Although Oregon was partly occupied by Britain, many people were
Essay about High-Fat and Low-Fat Diets
High fat and Low fat Diets Today, more people suffer from weight and health
problems than people from twenty years ago. You may ask why is that, and what
is the difference between us today and the people of the last generation? Well, one
main difference is the high fat and low fat foods that we eat. High fat and low fat
diets can be the cause of half our problems. People today; choose some sort of diet
to help their weight problems. But many people do not know what the bad intake of
some foods can do to you. The first thing that most people are drawn to is the high
fat diet, because of the foods that seem so delicious. When people eat according to the
high fat diet, they might not realize the danger they are putting their bodies... Show

A person that is on a low fat diet: eats less food; satisfies hunger; fills the stomach;
and diminishes the desire to eat. In a low fat diet, there is also less risk of a heart
attack and/or stroke. The low fat diet can also prevent and/or reduce the risk of
high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cancer. In other words, prevents many
illnesses. Some of the low fat diet foods include vegetables and fruits that are very
important to the human body. The low fat diet helps a person maintain a healthy
weight and reduce the risk of illnesses. So, to compare and contrast the two diets,
we realize that high fat diet puts the body at risk by serious illnesses and diseases.
For example, high fat diet can result in a heart attack because of the fat that gets
deposit in the blood vessels and disrupts the flow of the blood; in contrast, low fat
diet prevents the serious illnesses and diseases like heart attack. Low fat diet also
helps reduce weight, and obtain a normal lifestyle by keeping the body balanced,
whereas the high fat diet can cause obesity and unbalanced weight. By comparing
and contrasting the two diets, it becomes obvious that low fat diet is much better
than the high fat diet. In conclusion, I believe people should choose a low fat diet to
obtain a normal healthy lifestyle. I believe that the low fat diet can also stimulate us
to do better. So, instead of being on the high fat diet that causes many problems and
illnesses, its better

1. Define what is encompassed in the term information technology.
Information technology includes both the computer technology that enables the
processing and storing of information as well as the communication technology that
enables the transmission of this information.
2. What are some of the ways that IT has become pervasive ?
In the workplace, IT has become commonplace. It is becoming rare for an
employee in most industries to go a day without interacting with some form of IT.
Further, more employees are becoming reliant upon IT for some of their daily tasks
or even may perform the majority of their daily work using IT.
However, IT has not only become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Retailers with very high transaction volumes may be another example because if
their IT is not reliable for even a short time period, their sales losses can be
considerable. Another example of a business in the Factory quadrant is an airline:
these companies may not invest in current IT to compete in new ways, but require 24
/7 reliability for continued operations in booking flights, checking in passengers, etc.
7. What three IT assets have been identified as more important in today s Internet age,
and why?
[Note: The three assets are presented in Figure 1.2]
Technology Assets, Relationship Assets, and Human Assets must all be managed
effectively by IT leaders in modern IT organizations.
The Technology Assets are becoming more complex and businesses are increasingly
dependent upon these resources. It is important for IT managers to help business
managers understand the value of standard IT platforms across the organization to
ensure reliable computer and communications operations.
In addition to effectively managing the technological assets, IT managers must
continually evaluate the Relationship Assets: how well the IS department is working
with business managers so that IT investment and implementation decisions are made
that benefit the organization. IT leaders who partner well with business managers are
most likely to implement IT solutions that provide value to the business organization.
The Lord Is Good And Evil
Psalms begins with many metaphors. The Lord continues to make covenants with
prophets on Earth. Psalms are very short; they are pretty straightforward, unlike
many of the other chapters of the Bible. The Lord continues to listen to his people
as they ask for his forgiveness and pity. Sacrifices are made for the Lord to show their
worshipping ways. Psalmscontinues in a happy uplifting tone, where the people
continue to ask for forgiveness because the people have finally praised Godthe way
God always wanted them to. The Lord accepts the prays of his people and grants
them with forgiveness. The assembly of the people was gathered and judged by their
righteous God, not allowing men to repent against God. God, honoring the people

God is good but he also has complete control over everything. The Song of Songs,
which is Solomon s, begins with woman speaking seducing words for the King.
They ask many questions and expect many answers from the king. They have
many gifts for the King and the King continues to speak to the women telling them
how beautiful they are. They believe to be the most valuable women in the
kingdom, seducing many different men across. The time of singing is upon the
people and spring arrives. The man and woman are very happy with each other;
they continue to speak with each other on where their heart sets. The women begin
to notice many different things from the forest, and she notices that it is Solomon.
The woman is very interested in what Solomon has to offer. I m quite confused, I
can t tell if she was talking to herself during that episode or talking to someone else.
The woman is very worried that her beloved is near and thrills her with love. She
begins to imagine many different outcomes that include her beloved. I m not sure
who her beloved is or what it is at that matter. Songs of Songs is the exact same
story over and over and over again. The city is now lonely, but the people of the
provinces have become slaves. Judah is now in exile and the woman dread what
might come upon the nations next. Jerusalem s people fell into sin and became

Islation in So Far From God, Beloved, and The Guardians
In the novels So Far from God and Guardians by Ana Castillo and Beloved and by
Toni Morrison we see how isolation can create a need for community and support
from others. Isolation as demonstrated in these texts is something that is not dealt
with properly. Getting through a tough situation may be hard, but it does not have to
be a solo act. It can be said; a person who feel they need to isolate themselves from
their community are only going to make their situation worse, and if support from the
community is not accepted isolation becomes more of a threat than a danger to the
person who is not accepting the help. It can be debated, that La Loca in So Far From
God, Sethe in Beloved, and Regina in the Guardians have all demonstrated how
isolation can be dangerous for a person should not be taken lightly, and community
support should be taken advantage of if offered. Any kind of support given to help a
person through a tough time is better than dealing with it alone. In So far from God
isolation becomes a presence in La Loca s life from the day she was born. La Loca s
isolation is different in a way that she did not allow any type of human contact what
so ever. As a child she had a phobia of germs which kept her at home and unable to
live a normal life. Because of this, La Loca ultimately chooses to isolate herself as a
way to be kept away from peoplebecause she thinks they smell and can not stand to
be around them.
As La Loca states: The occasions when La Loca
The Marketing Plan
The Marketing Plan
Developing a Marketing plan
As with any business venture, your entry into international markets should be well
planned. A detailed marketing plan should be developed to provide a blueprint for
your marketing activities.
Whether you are a small family run attraction or an international airline, the principles
for a marketing plan are the same. The purpose of marketing is to match the right
product to the right market, providing an optimum return on investment. It is more
than just advertising.
Essentially there are four elements (the four P s) of marketing: product, price, place
and promotion. A good marketing plan incorporates a combination of these elements.

Understanding your consumer target markets will guide the development of your
product, how you price your product in the marketplace, where you offer your
product for sale and how you promote your product to consumers.
Consumer characteristics such as age, socio economic background, lifestyle choices
and personal values, as well as identification of their key needs, will further define
those consumers who may be interested in your product.
Targeting particular countries or market segments enables you to more effectively
tailor your product and your marketing and promotional activities. Many travel and
tourism products make the mistake of trying to appeal to all markets and all people.
When dealing in the international markets, it is impossible to be all things to all
people. Don t try to enter every market at once, select your markets carefully and take
the time to plan your approach. Plan your strategy carefully, allocating your resources
to the most appropriate markets which will generate the greatest return.
Consider the following points when selecting a target market and consumer segment:
What does the consumer (or market) want?
What can I provide to meet the consumer s needs?
What is the size of the market?
Is the market large enough to support the marketing costs required? Will I receive a

Boarding Schools Affected Native American Life
How Boarding Schools Came To Be In American history, many things have
affected Native American life and one of the biggest ones was boarding schools
being created. Boarding schools may not seem like a very big deal but has affected
a large part of Native American life. In the time prior to these schools being created,
the American government s main issue was finding a place to move Native
Americans to, since their homelands were now under the control of the government.
Eventually, the tens of thousands of native americans were put onto designated lands
called reservations and attended boarding schools. Many Native Americans
remember this time as nothing but abuse and desecration of their culture. Boarding
schools greatly affected and influenced the life of tens of thousands of native
americans during this time period but their lasting effects are still carried into today
(Bear 2008). One man in particular, Floyd Red Crow Westerman, who was an Indian
activist, publicly recalls how he was haunted by his memories of boarding school. He
was forced to leave his reservation in South Dakota and go to the Wahpeton Indian
Boarding School in North Dakota when he was just a child, but he remembers the

During this time, the United States government operated over one hundred boarding
schools (Akee 2016). The schools were not really about education, whereas most
students did not learn basic concepts of math or english, but sometimes they did teach
trades such as carpentry for boys and housekeeping for girls. Although
malnourishment, abuse, and forced labor was prominent in some schools, not all
children had these negative experiences in their schools. Some Native Americans
have good memories of meeting spouses and making lifelong friends (Bear
Functionalist View Of The Family
Murdock (1949) studied 250 different societies, he concluded that society could not
survive without the family as it was so functional. He argued there were four
essential functions, without these society would not survive: sexual, reproductive,
economic and education. Without sex and reproduction there would be no new
members, without economic and education, the familyproviding for its members, the
young socialised to norms and values, cultures would not exist. In the absence of this
human society would cease (Haralambos and Holborn, 2008). 83

Discuss an additional sociological theory on the role of the family, e.g. feminist,
Marxist or the New Right.
Where functionalism believes the nuclear family is positive, marxism argues from a
negative viewpoint seeing an extended and reproduced conflict between classes.
Marxist dispute the belief of family having equal benefit for all and argue the
capitalist economy depends on the family to buy and work, to produce goods
which benefits the capitalist. Although the nuclear family is responsible for
socialisation, it must be considered that not all norms and values are positive. They
oppose the functionalists who paint a rosy view, who forget to account for issues
that arise possibly leading to divorce or separation, as not all families are the same
(Taylor and Richardson et al,. 2002). The increase of economic pressure from
unemployment and people living longer seen to impose pressure on relationships
leading to breakdown. The socialisation process seen to result in the spreading of
the ruling class philosophy, individuals being deceived into accepting a capitalist
system of leadership and dominance. Those Bourgeois benefitting from a created
labour force with the proletariat exploited. Engels (1972) saw the bourgeois form of
nuclear family as oppressing women, who were dependent financially on their spouse

Jealousy in Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, and Winter s Tale
The common thread of jealousy ties together the main plots in Much Ado About
Nothing, Othello, and The Winter s Tale. In each of these plays, the main conflict is
centered around some form of jealousy. While jealousy is the mutual, most prominent
cause for turmoil in these plays, its effects on the characters, and ultimately the plots,
is different in each case. This difference has much to do with the way in which the
concept of jealousy is woven into each play, and what it is intended to accomplish.
In Othello, the jealousy factor is deliberately introduced by Iago, with the precise
intention of destroying those whom he feels have wronged him. Since it is ... Show

Ultimately, the deception based on Iago s jealousy, which resulted in Othello s
induced jealousy, brought about the downfall of most of the characters in the play
including Iago himself.
The way jealousy is introduced into the plot of The Winter s Taleis much different
than Othello, and thus it has different results. In Othello, the jealousy was incited
by Iago, a character; in The Winter s Tale, no one purposely inspired Leontes
jealousy, he came about it on his own. In this way, no character wielded jealousy as
a weapon against another but, rather, it was both introduced by and used on the
same character. Leontes, although he specifically asked Hermione to be nice to
Polixenes, completely misinterpreted her actions and took them to be signs of
infidelity. He was so convinced by his jealousy that Hermione was unfaithful that
he refused to believe the baby was his daughter, and had her sent away. Everyone
suffered from Leontes jealous rage for sixteen years until Perdita came back and the
misunderstanding was resolved. The difference in this resolution is that it had a
happy ending. Although some characters died as a result of Leontes unfounded
jealousy, all of the main characters ended up alive and happy. In this way, the
jealousy did not have such a drastic, negative effect because it was not intended to by
any of the characters.

Fear The Walking Dead Persuasive Essay
This past Sunday, AMC graced us with the premier of Fear the Walking Dead, a
spin off of the amazing, The Walking Dead TV series. While I am not a huge fan of
spin offs in general, I must say that I was impressed.
The following may contain spoilers, so if you haven t had the chance to see the

So why should you watch Fear the Walking Dead? Because I said you should! And
the fact that the first episode will have you hooked, well, if you are a Walking Dead
fan that is.
So where does Fear the Walking Dead fit into The Walking Dead universe? Well
that s easy, it takes place prior to the events of The Walking Dead, and on the west
coast. More or less the beginning of zombie infection.

Instead of the completely depressing feel of TWD world, we are given a much
more active, slightly less depressing feel in FTWD. Why do I say slightly less
depressing? Well the fact that the first episode opens in an abandoned and run

that our opening character, Nick, a junkie, witnesses the girl he was with, eating
someones face off. I could be wrong. Throughout the episode, we get to learn about
Nick s somewhat dysfunctional family and hints of the zombie apocalypse starting
to unfold. There are also hints that the drug that Nick has been using, is causing
people to become zombies. Of course, nobody understands what is going on yet, not
even Nick. Everything starts to be put in perspective when Nick s drug dealer,
Calvin, attempts to kill him, only to get killed himself. After fleeing the location and

Agricultural production entails investment of resources and farmers will have no
incentive for making investments in areas where there is little opportunity for
marketing their products or if the returns accruing from the sales of agricultural
products do not reflect the opportunity cost of investment. As a result, most farmers
in areas with few marketing opportunities are engaged primarily in subsistence
agriculture, which has constrained improvement in their quality of life [3]. The
problem of market access is linked to the inability of farmers to meet market
standards, low volumes of produce, wide dispersion of producers, presence of
middlemen and perceived low prices in the formal market [1 7]. Therefore,
development policies in Ghana have focused on the modernization and
commercialization of the agricultural sector in addressing the major agricultural
production and marketing challenges.
[8,9]. The development policy of the Food and Agricultural Sectors II (FASDEP II)
is notably among these policies. It seeks to increase both the competitiveness and
integration of farmers in domestic and international markets by producing the
required volumes as well as the quality of commodities on a timely basis.
Specifically, strategies adopted by this policy to

Hermaphrodites and Society
Individuals are given the gift of life when they are born into this world. Many
agree that everyone is blessed and should not take their lives for granted. To be
truly alive, individuals must be overjoyed and pursue happiness. However, others
would describe their lives as a joke. To be precise, many would be ashamed of who
they are. A very strong example of an ashamed soul would be Calliope, the main
protagonist of Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. In the story, Eugenides tells the tale
of Callie, who is supposedly a monster because she is a hermaphrodite. Being a
hermaphrodite indicates that someone has the sex organs associated with both
genders. By definition, Callie is an abnormal freak. Eugenides ... Show more content

readers develop sympathy and pity towards Callie. All throughout the passage, the
tone of the story is serious. Callie acknowledges that her mother was crying in the

statements convey that Callie s parents are also disappointed and ashamed of what
their daughter has become. Callie understands that her mother sheds tears thinking
what she has done to deserve a defected daughter. Callie s parents are so ashamed

Callie wishes to be comforted and surrounded by others that loved and understood

individual that she is too far long to be comforted by anyone. Readers infer that

only rival are the Boys. The Boys are a group of highschool boys that claim to be a

After a lot of thought, Kelly decided to apologize for his behavior the next day when
he gave his daily report on Boy activities.
The next day, Kelly went to spy on the Boys and saw nothing unusual. He walked
slowly to his superior s office, thinking of how he was going to apologise to them.
Was he going to apologise then give the report or report then apologise? He didn t

The smoke rushed through everything, covering it all in black dust. Once the dust

Theories Of Agency Theory
The agency theory explores risk sharing among individuals or groups. Risk sharing
situation raises a problem when co operating parties have different attitudes towards
risk. Agency theory broadens the risk sharing concept to include the agency problem
which occurs when co operating parties have different goals and there is division of
labour (Kathleen. 1989). According to an auditquality forum (2005), an agency
relationship arises when a principal (for example, an owner) engage another person as
their agent(or steward) to perform a service on their behalf. This leads to delegation of
some duties and responsibilities to the agent. Consequently, the principal has to place
some trust in the agent hoping that they will act in their best interests.... Show more

The consequence of these problems is that the principals may lack trust in their
agents and they may therefore need to put in place mechanisms, such as audit, to
reinforce this trust. Agency theory is concerned in solving these problems that arise
in an agency relationship. A simple agency theory model suggests that, as a result of
information asymmetry and self interest, principals lack reasons to trust their agents
and will seek to resolve these concerns by putting in place mechanisms to align the
interests of agents with the principals and to reduce the scope for information
asymmetry and opportunistic behaviour (Audit Quality Forum, 2005). According to
Jensen and Meckling (1976), agency theory attempts to describe the agency
relationship in the form of a metaphorical contract. That is, agency theory is a
contract in which the principal is represented by management in executing the
strategic goals and objectives and the auditors in providing assurance in their
Comparing Utilitarianism, Virtue Theory, And
Deontological...
Culture and Ethics
People of different cultures live harmoniously and peacefully because they have
agreed to live by the laid down rules that thin down to ethics and morality. Ethical
theories explain how individuals should behave amongst themselves. Therefore, the
justification of this discussion is to provide the comparison and differences between
utilitarianism, virtue theory, and deontological ethics. In addition, it will conclude
with my personal experience by relating virtues, values, and moral concepts of the
virtue theories, utilitarianism, and deontological ethics.
Virtue Theory
Virtue ethics is defined as a person s character traits determined by the
characteristics they represent either bad or good or still between the two. The
theory focuses on an individual s integrity instead of the decisions they make. It is
believed that whichever the situation a virtuous person will always practice
kindness. However, their actions are never based on gaining favor, but instead they
always do whatever is right as driven by their character traits. Therefore, the concept
of virtue ethics is not self centered, but focuses on unifying what is required by
morality and self interest.
Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism, on the other hand, refers to agreeing to embark on a particular action
with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consequently, the moral standard of deontology is based on specific obligations and
duties. Thus, in a deontological perspective, certain actions are not justifiable by their
consequences (Stanfordedu, 2016). Therefore, this theory suggests that the end does
not justify the means. Significantly, both deontology and utilitarianism are theories
referring to as moral laws, rules, and intuition. Consequently, it is a moral obligation
to follow certain standard principles. However, despite these guidelines individuals
should act above the ground
The Dark Side of Leaders
Leaders are often portrayed as heroes and champions, but there is also a darker side
to being a leader. Adolph Hitler was one of the strongest leaders in the last 100
years, if not the strongest leader of all time. He was a man with the ability to lead a
country, with a population of 20 million people, against the whole world in a vision
the way he saw fit. He led Germanyout of economic depression after previously being
through World War I. This is indeed what all leaders strive to be. Hitler is one of the
best models for inspiring leaders. He exhibited some of the strongest qualities of
being a leader, which included: vision, eloquence, charisma, strong will, and tyranny.

His influence on the German people was immense; he used his motivational and
powerful speaking abilities to gain support and popularity. When he would speak, he
would sweat and get so fanatical about his speech that people would go crazy when
he spoke. (Goebbels, 1936)
Another important quality Hitler possessed was his charisma. Charisma is a
quality attributed to those with an exceptional ability to secure the devotion of a
large number of people. Without some level of charisma, a leader cannot function
successfully. Without charisma, which Hitler displayed best in his famous
Nuremburg Rally speeches, it is unlikely that he could have generated enough
support for his Nazi regime. (Southgate, 1998) With his charismatic attitude, Hitler
attained devotion from almost anyone that he spoke to. The German people were
ready to fight the rest of the world to achieve the world that Hitler saw fit. Their
devotion to him led them to feel emotional and caused them to commit themselves
in his ideology; they were willing to give their lives to satisfy a single man s goal of
ruling the world. Hitler had one of the strongest wills of any man this world had
seen. He refused to allow anyone get in his way; this was one of the reasons that
led to World War II. He even betrayed the Russians, his one time allies, for not
agreeing with his ideas. His will for Germany to be the best also helped Germany
Creon The Tragic Hero In The Play Antigone
In the play Antigone, there are many people that could be the tragic hero. It could be
Antigone with her pride, or Ismene with her fear. Personally, I believe that Creon is
the tragic hero. Creon has three big harmartias. Those three are: pride, stubbornness,
and fear. Throughout the whole play, Creon is too busy worrying about what people
think of him instead of thinking about family. Unfortunately, it was too late for Creon
to change his mistakes. Creon s biggest hamartia is pride. After Creon finds out that
Antigone buried her brother, he questions Antigone and Ismene. Creon decides to
spare Ismene but rules that Antigone should be buried alive in a cave as punishment
for her transgressions ( Antigone ). He does this because earlier,
Scurvy During The Age Of Scurvy
Scurvy (a vitamin C deficiency) had plagued the world for multiple centuries until
actions were finally taken in attempt to find an antidote. Scurvy is a disease which
results from insufficient intake of vitamin C and leads to the spots on the skin,
spongy gums and bleeding from almost all mucous membranes. Vitamin C
deficiency and scurvy was hastened in the age of sail because of the rigorous
working conditions for sailors. The diet of sailors during the age of sail was
obviously the main factor in the plight of scurvy. As VitaminC cannot be produced
internally by humans, it must be ingested through the diet. By examining the history
of vitamin C, one can fully appreciate the advances made in its research. Surprisingly,
vitamin C s importance
Canada s Immigration System Act
On June 28, 2012, the Protecting Canada s Immigration System Act (Bill C 31) took
effect. This act was put in place to bring further reforms to the asylum system, add
measures to address human smuggling, and add the requirement to include biometric
data as part of a temporary resident visa, work permit, and study permit application.
These changes were claimed to help the system to function better, cut down wait time,
make the process faster, screen applicants better, and to prevent needless
complications. This resulted in many changes to Canadas asylum system. There were
four changes made to the Immigrationand RefugeeBoard of Canada (IRB). The first
change was replacing the Basis of Claim (BOC) form with the Personal
Information Form (PIF). This change meant that people who make a refugee claim
at an office in Canada must submit a completed BOC during their eligibility
interview. If they made a refugee claim at a port of entry then they must submit
their BOC to the IRB no later than 15 days after their claim is referred to the IRB.
Another change made was that the hearings at the (IRB) would be conducted by
public servant decision makers rather than people appointed by the Governor in
Council (GIC). Also, hearings for most claimants would be held no later than 60
days after the refugee claim is referred to the IRB. And finally, for claimants from
designated countries of origin, their hearings would be held no later than 45 days
after referral to the IRB for those who
Julius Caesar the True Tragic Hero
Aristotle once said A man doesn t become a hero until he can see the root of his
own downfall. These words best describe what a Tragic Hero is and both Julius
Caesar and Brutus displayed this characteristic, so the question is Who is the real
tragic hero in this story? This paper shall explore the reasons behind why each man
is considered a hero in his own right and who the rightful owner to the title of the
play truly belongs to. There have been countless tragic heroes in the works of
William Shakespeare such as Macbeth and Hamlet, but the real question to ask is

Another example of Brutus fatal flaw was when he allowed Antony to stay alive and
not be murdered by the conspirators, he trusted Antony to the extent of allowing him
to speak to the crowd after Caesar s death, which gave Antony the opportunity to let
slip the true cause of Julius Caesar s death and ultimately led to Anthony s demise.
Brutus then gets run out of town and eventually loses everything he cherished
most, more than anything when his wife Portia commits suicide due to her being
unable to handle all the stress that was caused by her husband and the conspiracy
as a whole. He would then take over the conspiracy, much to Cassius shock who
only asked Brutus to join the conspiracy as a way of getting closer to Caesar but as
Cassius had lost his position as the head man he no longer had any say in the
decisions of the conspiracy. Brutus tragic realization of the effects of the conspiracy
and the death of Caesar occur to him the moment he sees Caesar s ghost right before
the war in Philippi discovering, in an ironic twist that his killing of Caesar has not
bettered Rome but rather it has made the roman situation deteriorate. During the
battle of Philippi, Brutus decides to commit suicide due to his inner conflict
concluding his life with words that prove his remorse and guilt: Caesar now be still/ I
Advertising agencies today are confronted with the...
Advertising agencies today are confronted with the ever evolving nature of
technology and new applications that are continually being devised. Traditional
advertising methods such as billboards, newspapers, magazines, radio and even
broadcast television advertising are becoming less effective due to the significant
increase in the number of platforms for getting messages to target audiences. In my
essay I will discuss the challenges that the digitalization of communications has had
on advertisingagencies and its effects on consumers, the media and brands, with
examples of how these companies are overcoming these problems to solve their

IMC can be defined as an approach to brand communications where the different
modes work together to create a seamless experience for the customer and are
presented with a similar tone and style that reinforces the brand s core message
(Belch Belch, 2013). Agencies overcome this challenge by understanding and
embracing technology and its effectiveness in solving clients problems.
Acceleration Media CEO Tony Sousa claims the world of media is changing at an
unprecedented rate as technology disrupts the established business models for
publishing and advertising, as consumers change the way in which they consume
information, services and entertainment (Sousa, 2013). Mass media advertising as we
know it today is perishing. Advertising agencies have had to restructure their
advertising models to accommodate a harsher advertising climate. This forces brands
to formulate effective ways to reach their customers. The main factor contributing to
traditional advertisings impending demise is the invention of new forms of
technology, namely the internet. The creation of the internet has resulted in the
fragmentation of media and markets. Media fragmentation is the breaking up of large
audiences into smaller audience fragments due to the increase of media choices
available (Tuten, 2008). Advertising has to spread further, covering a multitude of
channels to gain the same exposure (Rust Oliver, 1994). Media platforms provide

Catherine de Medici and Obsession Over Power Essay
Catherine de Medici and Obsession Over Power An execrable woman whose
memory will remain in bloody crepe until the end of time[1] . For nearly 400 years
this assessment of Catherine de Medici held true. In the popular imagination she is a
Machiavellian schemer using poison on those who hindered her in her quest to gain
and maintain power at court, a view of Catherine reinforced in recent years by the
film La Reine Margot, based on the book by Dumas. Most traditionalist historians
take their information on Catherine from pamphlets such as Discours Merveilleuse

The main revisionist historian to write in English is NM Sutherland. Her works are a
clear attempt to rehabilitate Catherine and remove the stigma the Black Legend has
left associated with Catherine s name. She suggests that far from Catherine being
triumphant at her own political dexterity when assuming the regency for Charles IX
upon the death of Francis II, she viewed the future with apprehension [6]. Other
revisionist historians include Dame Francis Yates who interprets Catherine s many
volte face as being less and example of Machiavellian scheming and more of an
example of how Catherine was, in reality a politique who put the well being of the
state before personal religious convictions. This position meant Catherine was unable
to comprehend the religious fanaticism which swept France during the era in which
she was regent and thus made the solving of the problem significantly more difficult.
Other revisionists concentrate on her maternalism with Heritier[7] substantiating this
opinion with references to the proportion of Catherine s letters that are addressed to
Jean d HumiГѓВЁre, the royal children s governess. The revisionist view generally
sees Catherine as being someone who desired peace and stability for her sons

Love and Guilt in Sophie s Choice and in Sound and Fury
Essay
William Styron, who wrote Sophie s Choice, sought out other novels to appreciate
an author s thematic and stylistic choices. One of the novels which Styron admired
was Sound and Fury, by William Faulkner. Styron embraced some of Faulkner s
approach to writing and this can be seen by juxtaposing both Sophie s Choice and
Sound and Fury. Loveand guilt are major topics which both novels share. These
emotions are felt by humans everyday, but having too much of both of these
elements can prove to be negative for the wellbeing of mankind. Sophie, the main
character in Sophie s Choice, must embrace the loss of her family her parents,
husband, and children due to the Nazi party in Germany. In the final chapters of the

Stingo was unable to help Sophie, though, so he expresses guilt because of the
inability to prevent Sophie from ending her life. In Faulkner s novel, guilt is
represented in a similar way. Quentin Compson grew up admiring his older sister
Caddy. One way he showed his fondness for Caddy is by telling their father that he
had committed incest with her and had impregnated her. He did this to conceal the
truth about Caddy; that she became pregnant from her secret lover. Although his
efforts were great, Quentin could not convince their family about him fathering his
sister s child. Caddy was sent off, leaving her newly born daughter at the Compson
house. Quentin lived with the guilt of what happened with Caddy through his
adulthood. His life abruptly ended when he decided to commit suicide, just as
Sophie had done. Included in the final thought process of Quentin Compson, he
mentions, you cannot bear to think that someday it will no longer hurt you like this
now were getting at it you seem to regard it merely as an experience that will
whiten tour hair overnight (Faulkner, 107). This proves how Quentin loved and was
deeply upset by what had happened to his sister, and he could not bear to live with
those emotions anymore so he made the decision to end his life. In both novels, guilt
has gotten to the best of both Sophie and Quentin. This exposes the

The Demand Law States Quantity Demanded
Luigi Vittatoe Professor Melvin Landry EEC2304 Introduction to Microeconomics
January 26, 2016 Homework #3 Chapter 5 4.) The demand law states quantity
demanded is inversely proportional to price for normal goods. The quantity
demanded decreased by 30% so this means there is an increase in the price. The
revenue increases by 15% due to this change. When the direction of price change
and the direction of revenue change happen in the same direction the product is
inelastic. 7.) A) If Maria spends one third of her income on clothing, then her
income elasticity of demand is 1 because maintaining her clothing expenditures as
a constant fraction of her income means the percentage change in her quantity of
clothing must equal her percentage change in income. B) Maria s price elasticity
of clothing demand is 1 because every percentage point increase in the price of
clothing would lead her to reduce her quantity purchased by the same percentage.
C) If Maria spends a smaller proportion of her income on clothing her quantity
demanded will be lower. Her demand curve shifts to the left because she will spend
a constant fraction of her income on clothing, and the new proportion spent on
clothing is less than the earlier proportion of income spent. 10.) A) Price elasticity

= $3 so the government should increase the price of cigarettes by $1 and make the
new price $3. B) If the government

The Museum I chose to go to is The Museum of Natural History, the museum was

Americans. My main points was to focus on the way they were living, how they
managed to survive and most importantly their traditional cultures. There were many
things I ve seen that I learned in class, such as the ghost dance and how they were
forced out of their land to live in the reservation. There were also many things that we

other traditional dances.
In class we learned about the ghost dance which indicated hopes for the natives
when they were on the reservations. However, there were many more dances that
gave the native hope for other things; for example: the war dance represented
success in an upcoming war. The natives would celebrate the war dance the night

The thing that I found very interesting was that they had a spear thrower. A spear

The main purpose of the museum is to amaze the new generation and to show how

Seeing how affective these projectiles could be, the police in Singapore, Malaysia,
and Hong Kong eventually made a more sophisticated wooden bullet. By the
1970s, the British brought the idea back to England, where they replaced wood
with rubber. Eventually this idea trickled down to many other countries including
the United States. These rubber bullets can be shot from a standard police
handgun. The bullet has a metal shell casing but instead of a metal bullet it is
replaced by a black thick rubber projectile. In riots, the police will attempt to aim
for any area below the neck; when the bullet hits an object it flattens out in order to
cause no permanent damage. Rubber bullets travel up to 950 mph, and if hit by
one of these rubber bullets a rioter will experience an extreme stinging pain. Some
people describe the pain as being hit with a baseball bat (Norman). Although not
intended to be deadly doctors warn, rubber bullets are unsafe and should never be
used by authorities to control riots . But when it comes down to controlling hostile
crowds, rubber bullets are the most effective and instant way to turn rioters away.
These are just a few non lethal weapons used by police in riots all across the United
States. Non lethal weapons come in a variety of devices that can be used to subdue
rioters if needed. These devices provide a much needed weapon

The War On Drugs And Its Impact On The United States
The current policy in use by the United States concerning illegal drugs is both
outdated and unfair. This so called war on drugs is a deeply rooted campaign of
prohibition and unfair sentencing that is very controversial and has been debated for
many years. The war on drugs is designed so that it will never end. This current drug
was has very little impact on the overall supply of prohibited drugs and its impact
on demand seems non existent. United States taxpayers are spending billions of
dollars on this failure of policy. They are spending billions to incarcerate drug
users instead offering drug treatment which could help lower demand. Legalizing
illicit would lower abuse and deaths from use and could have a positive economic
impact on the United States. Certain industries are making massive sums of money
by capitalizing on the drug war. Currently, many prisons are beginning to be run by
private corporations. If a company is running a prison then they need prisoners to
stay in business. Around 1 in every 107 Americans is currently being housed in a

percent of its prisoners(ACA, 2008). This is the easiest way to maintain a large
prison population is by maintaining the current drug war. The largest private prison
company in the United States is Corrections Corp. of America(ACA, 2008). In the
last twenty years, CCA has donated nearly $5 million dollars to certain political

Dictatorship, as the word dictate suggests it is ruling on an area by using power
and the orders of an individual. In this form of government in which the power is in
the hands of an individual or a group of people who gets control on the area by
receiving it as a inheritance or by getting control by using force. Pakistanour beloved
country got independence from British rule in 1947 and from that day to till now it
is ruled by three dictators and estimately in 66 years of independence it is dictated
around 35 years. In these three times the government was took over by the army
generals who somehow dismissed the government and took over the power.

Hence power given to single individual can lead to better results than power
distributed in several people.
It is seen that when Pakistan was being ruled by dictators it was actually bearing
less loss due to corruption. The majority of the corruption cause in Pakistan is due to
the greed of Pakistani politicians. But during the era of dictatorship only one army
chief was ruling on Pakistan. One man can cause less corruption than a bunch of
corrupted politicians elected in different provinces of Pakistan. General Ayub khan
after getting in power instantly took steps to remove the corruption in government
institutes, and tried to remove the social corruption. He also promoted the laws of
Islam. In which corruption was least adopted. That s why he was again elected as
the president of Pakistan in the democratic election by defeating Fatima Ali Jinnah
in the elections. After him general Yahya khan took over the power. He was the
second dictator of Pakistan. He even didn t look forward to prolong his rule instead
he look forward to remove corruption and to hand over the rule to Pakistani
representatives. Similarly general Zia ul Haq and general pervaiz Musharraf also
took steps to eliminate the corruption from the country. So it can be easily noted that
whenever dictatorship took over Pakistan, Pakistan was least exposed to corruption in
government as well as private sectors unlike in the times of democratically elected
government.
The Sense Of Fear In The Cask Of The Amontillado By
Edgar...
Imagine, you are walking towards a dark, discreet, and desolate room, the ground
below you squeaks loudly! You start to panic, footsteps follow behind you STOMP,
STOMP . The noise gets louder and louder STOMP!, STOMP , in the distance not
clear to you. As a way to create a different types of sensory driven story pieces like,
The Cask of The Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, Feather Pillows by Horacio
Quiroga, and House Taken Over by Julio Cortazar use a sense of dread to drive
their works of literature forward. As you re expecting a jump scare in a movie, the
factor of uncertainty is used to hook in the audience and create the sense of fear.
First and foremost, Uncertainty is the feeling of not being sure of what is happening.
In The Cask of The Amontillado , by Edgar Allen Poe tells the story about revenge.
While the main character Montresor leads the unfortunate Fortunato through his
estate, he discovers a sense emptiness, There were no attendants at home; they had
absconded to make merry in horror of time (Poe 2). As a result of turning a place of
comfort into a dreaded setting, the experience of the home takes a dark turn. The
house that Montresor lives is not a little home it is a home of wealth, this home being
empty raises an eyebrow of uncertainty to the audience. Edgar Allen Poe also
introduces the reader to the catacombs, while Montresor plans his gruesome revenge
towards Fortunato. Montresor Takes Fortunato takes Fortunato through the
How Data Is Important Factor For Business Decisions
Today, our society is bombarded by data driven business society. Data are facts and
statistics collected together for reference and analysis. It can also be measurements,
values, words, observations or even descriptions. Data has a lot of use. Companies
can use data to gather information on how things work. It can even be used to
differentiate things and find their similarities. Data is basically a tool for research
purposes. Data became one of the prominent assets of the today s business industry.
From the traditional manual surveys and online surveys up to different types of data
gathering methods, big companies are spending millions and millions of dollars just
to improve their business through the use of data. Data became such... Show more

That is when gathering data comes in to disrupt that unwise business decision and
help managers make better decisions based on the data they gathered. One example
of how data is used to help manage an organization is how energy drink company
determined which type of people should they focused on targeting for their
products. A manager can determined who usually drinks their product by doing
surveys. Of course, most of people would assume that people who play sports are
the ones they should be focused on, but how about the others like people who late
overnight like security guards and call center agents; college students who do their
homework late at night; people working on a 24 hour retail store or just workaholic
guy who stays overnight working on his business presentation. Market segmentation
is very important for businesses and data plays a big role on how they can determine
their potential consumers. They are potential target, although not as big as athletes,
but no one knows their estimate number unless we do some research and that is
when data gathering methods like surveys kicks in. The manager can form a group
of survey makers to do some surveys to determine which type people, age, gender,
race and occupation drinks energy drinks. After they gathered the data and laid down
the details and convert it to a business language, the manager could determine the
potential market for
Descriptive Essay About Speedball

One of the most exciting things that I have done in my life is the sport of
paintballing in which I played professionally in my home country of Kuwait.
Paintballing is like a game of tag in which two teams of six people face each other
in an arena with inflatable cover. The objective of the game is to tag out as many
people as you can with your paintball gun that has paintballs that explode on impact.
In paintballing there is woodstyle, speedball and scenario which varies in whatever
arena or location that you are playing in. To me this is the closest that anyone can
get to a combat scenario and the feeling that I get from playing the sport gets my
heart racing every time making me very excited and happy when I go out with my
team to play. When playing woodsballstyle we are placed in a location with many
trees that gives us a in the woods feeling. In woodsball you have to be very smart
how you move your team and who has who because some people use camouflage
clothing that makes it hard to see and you can get shot very easily without even
knowing. In woodsball I like to use a longrange weapon so that I can shoot people
from farther away without the risk of pushing up and getting shot and eliminated
from the game. I remember one time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In speedball you are placed in a 50 yard turf field with inflatable cover that varies
from tall ones and short ones depending on what style you like to play. Speedball
goes by very fast because the field is shorter and everyone is placed closer to each
other. This is where teamwork comes in as some guys put pressure in the middle
and other guys try to go around while the guys in the middle are distracting the
opponent. One of my best memories is winning a championship of speedball with
my team in Dubai. We went up against the #1 team at the time and getting that win
felt great. Til this day I can say that speedball is my favorite style of
Cooperative Federalism In Texas
Federalism has evolved throughout American history. At different points in time, the
balance and boundaries between the national and state government have changed
substantially (resulting in the dual federalism, cooperative federalism etc.). Dual
federalism which can also be referred to as divided sovereignty draws a clear
distinction between federal and state governments, with the state government
exercising the powers given to them without the influence of the federal government.
It can further be supported by the Tenth Amendment which states, The powers not
delegated to the United Statesby the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States,
are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people. Cooperative Federalismis
defined as the cooperative functioning of the state, national and local governments.
The American ensemble functions according to the New Dual Cooperative
Federalism.
Federalism makes most policies lean more locally. States could tailor policy to fit
their specific needs. For example, Texas has a very different social welfare system
even under the supervision of the central federal system. As the state has populations,
wealth, resources, etc.,
Texas is a prime example of the state constitutions in general. Ever since the

Bonuses should continue to be handed out to a lesser percentage of the top
employees if it was given to the top 20% employees it should be reduced to only 10%
of the top performers. Bonus amounts should stay the same until the tough economic
times have past.
Amenities that are already offered on the worksite should not be taken away
because this will have a direct impact on employees feeling about the company, but
no new ones should be added until it is determined that the organization is on track
to being profitable again. Gym memberships should still discounts should continue
to be offered because not only does it help employees release stress and stay in

above average about 80% of the workforce will receive a lower discount on their
personal phone bill or will be taken away for economic reason. It is important to let
employees know why you are taking this steps, letting them know that it is necessary
to take them for the company to stay in business will be of great help when it comes
to them being disgruntled.
To conclude I believe that by taking all the steps mentioned above JVA Corp. Should

Mistletoe
You were going to kill that archangel.
Gabriel had been in a festive mood since December 1st, and he d chosen to decorate
the bunker when he had been bored one day. Unfortunately for you, that meant he d
hung up dozens of mistletoe bunches everywhere. There was mistletoe outside your
door, in the hallway into the kitchen, and of course in every single doorway.
But that wasn t even the worst part. The worst bit was that Gabriel enchanted them so
that if someone accidentally walked under one, they couldn t move from that spot
until someone kissed them. And God forbid someone get stuck under there with
another person... Neither of them would escape unscathed.

The Presidential Election Elections Election
In the 2000 United States Presidential election, the close pre election polls showed
the election could be won by either the Republican or the Democrat Party. Both
Parties had two strong candidates, with a handful of other third party candidates,
including Green Party and Reform Party representatives. As I watched the results of
the 2000 presidential election, I felt bad for Vice President Albert Gore, Jr. The
Presidency seemed to be well within Governor George W. Bushs grasp. The
television news networks were showing a big lead for Bush across the country. I
turned the television off in my office, and I advised my Soldiers to get back to
work. My Soldiers and I were stationed overseas in the Republic of Korea. We were
thirteen hours ahead of the Eastern Time zone in the United States. We worked for
the Commanding General for all United States Troops in Korea. The General often
spoke about the election, but never let on which candidate got his vote. When I
turned on the news at home that same evening, I was shocked to learn the
presidency had not been decided. It seemed Gore rebounded across the country;
however the total vote count in some states is too close to call. The 2000
Presidential election was important to me because the last time a Bush was in
office, I found myself overseas as a part of a Multinational Coalition as the United
States had declared war on the country of Iraq. In the year 2000, the peninsula of
Korea had been in a delicate state with

This is sometimes the irony that we assume that we really participate in some
work or activities even if we are not. Just because we are busy doing something. We
cannot work on two mental activities at the same time that s why we perform less
involvement in the task assigned. But, we should always remember that life is not a
contest to see who can drop into the grave the fastest. Guard your mental and
physical health by slowing down to a reasonable pace. Concentrate on the task at
hand, and do it well before moving on. More isn t always better. Life failures caused
by our mishandling of the situation may lead to stress, conflict, frustration, and at the
end, we need to cope with it. Experiencing depression is like coming to a dead end.
Life holds no meaning anymore. The once all time high self esteem now
dangerously touches the zero level. Even a rosy retirement life suddenly becomes
a death march. We, persons, with ability to feel must be very serious and sensitive
about this because in our day to day scenario, we must learn to handle thing right.
Stress is a part of life. Regardless of all the media hype, we need stress in our life! It
may be surprising. Without stress, life would be dull and unexciting. Stress adds
flavor and, challenge, and opportunity to life. We need a degree of stress to operate,

Arguments Against Perdurantism
This paper evaluates an argument against Perdurantism and presents possible
alternatives to demonstrate that substances do not always overlap. Firstly, we utilize
the Lump and Clay example from Effingham s (20xx) An Introduction To Ontology
to illustrate what Perdurantism entails. Afterwards, we object the anti perdurantist s
argument because it is arbitrary to claim that a substance s career only begins when
it is born and it ceases when it dies. Then, we provide a response on behalf of the anti
perdurantist to show that our objection can be implausible because it can lead to
unintuitive commitments. Lastly, we provide a general assessment to show that our
objection only works if we can accept the unintuitive consequences. Before we begin

This is not the case for D and D because they possess the mutually exclusive property
of dying at different times (amongst other things, but only one differing property need
be identified to deny numerical identity according to Leibniz). Therefore, D and D
are not numerically identical. Additionally, for the time that D and D are both alive,
they share the same temporal worm (for this argument the author stipulates that D
and D share the exact same life until D dies). Once D dies however, his temporal
worm ceases to be, and D s temporal worm carries on. Therefore, the entirety of D
permanently overlaps with D, and D and D permanently overlap during the time
being that both are alive. Premise 4: Perdurantism entails that any entity is constituted
by a temporal worm of the states they existed in over their entire career. Two identical
entities must, therefore, share the same temporal worm, or it would imply that they
existed in different states at some point in time. Therefore, permanent overlap
according to perdurantism is the same as numerical identity. It follows that if
perdurantism is correct, then two permanently overlapping entities that have different
temporal worms cannot be numerically

Meaning Of Medieval Feudals
Medieval Vassals
Medieval Vassals (Intro)
During the medieval period, kings ruled large areas of land. In order to protect these
lands from invasion, the king would give portions of their lands to the local lords
which were called the Vassals. They governed the lands granted to them by the king
and promised to defend it against conquerors.
Medieval Vassals Definition
Medieval vassals was believed to have been derived from the Latin word vassallus
and the Roman word vassus, which means servant. However, it was also said to have
originated from the Celtic and Welsh term gwas which means a young male feudal
tenant.
In the feudal system, Medieval Vassals by definition were people granted the use of
a King s land in return for their services, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term vassal originally emerged during the medieval era of the middle ages as
the feudal system was established in England in 1066 after the rest of the country
was claimed by William, The Conqueror.
Medieval Vassals History
The first vassals during the medieval period came from England and were appointed
right after the Norman Conquest. When William the Conqueror invaded the country,
all estates that belonged to England were declared as his property. And to give honor
to the Normal soldiers who fought with him during the conquest, he awarded majority
of the lands to them.
After William gained control, the Norman soldier who became and were declared
Lords of these lands began to rule with him. Noble men became Lords and lower
military officers became vassals. The idea of awarding the lands to the Lords
basically was to assist the new ruler in protecting the kingdom from invasion as each
Lord was in charged of protecting his own land.
The Medieval Vassals Land
The medieval vassal lands varied in size. The average size of these land, known as
fief, were as small as 1200 acres and as big as 1800 acres. Most of the feudal lands
consisted of farm and cultural lands. Meanwhile, the vassals either lived in castles of
the lords or they owned their own

Long Term Goals Essay

  • 1. Long Term Goals Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of "Long Term Goals" presents a unique set of challenges that often go beyond the typical essay-writing hurdles. The difficulty lies not only in conveying your aspirations but also in articulating a clear and compelling narrative that captivates the reader's attention while providing a structured framework for your long-term objectives. One of the primary challenges is striking a balance between ambition and feasibility. While it's essential to dream big and articulate grandiose aspirations, it's equally crucial to ground your goals in reality. It requires careful thought to map out a trajectory that is not only inspiring but also practical. Another hurdle lies in the introspective aspect of the essay. Delving deep into one's long-term goals demands self-reflection and a keen understanding of personal motivations. Expressing these thoughts in a coherent and engaging manner can be a complex task, as it requires a level of vulnerability and sincerity that may not be customary in other forms of writing. Moreover, crafting an essay on long-term goals involves the challenge of maintaining a sense of unity and coherence throughout the piece. The narrative should flow seamlessly from past experiences to present endeavors and future ambitions, creating a cohesive storyline that resonates with the reader. In addition, the essay should transcend mere enumeration of goals. It must provide insights into the underlying values, passions, and motivations that drive these aspirations. This requires a skillful blend of storytelling and analytical thinking to ensure that the reader not only comprehends your goals but also connects with the person behind them. As the writer, you must also navigate the fine line between confidence and humility. Presenting your long-term goals requires a level of conviction, but it's essential to avoid coming across as presumptuous or overly self-assured. Striking this delicate balance can be challenging but is crucial for creating a persuasive and relatable essay. In conclusion, writing an essay on long-term goals demands a nuanced approach that combines vision with practicality, introspection with eloquence, and confidence with humility. Successfully navigating these challenges will result in a compelling narrative that not only outlines your aspirations but also provides a glimpse into the person aspiring to achieve them. If you find yourself grappling with this task, seeking assistance is a viable option. • 2. Causes Of Death In The Death Of Romeo And Juliet Frequently labelled as one of the greatest and most tragic, love stories of all time, Romeo and Juliet features two youths from dueling families whose abrupt, yet robust, love ultimately resulted in their deaths. However, it was not just their whirlwind romance that led to their demise, but also the actions of many characters who had tried to aid the two lovers. One such character is the Nurse, who acted as a messenger to arrange Romeo and Juliet s wedding. Despite the Nurse s interference, which helped fester Romeo and Juliet infatuation for each other, which eventually led them to killing themselves; Friar Lawrence bears the most responsibility for Romeo and Juliet s death because he was the one who married them in the first place, sent... (Shakespeare 5.2.17 20) Demonstrating how the friar failed to complete the one action that may have saved both Romeo and Juliet s lives, these lines further prove his guilt as it portrays him complaining to the inefficient messenger, Friar John, about his negligence. The following lines further cement his guilt as it states that he had not one but two chances to deliver the letter to Romeo, and yet again disappointed: But I will write again to Mantua, (Shakespeare 5.2. 27). As briefly explained above, Friar Lawrence was the one who produced and mobilized the plan which directly led to Romeo and Juliet s suicide. Once Juliet heard the news of the engagement she fled to the friar s cell, and once again, he informed her of the rapidly formed plan as follows: Hold, daughter. I do spy a kind of hope, . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . • 4. Manifest Destiny Essay When we think about power, what comes to mind is usually related to money and authority. We tend to forget that the most powerful tool we have lies within our thoughts and beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. After the thirteen colonies separated from Britainvia the Declaration of Independence, a sense of pride and nationalism began developing in the minds of many Americans. This became apparent when the concept of manifest destiny began circling the country in the 1840s. This paper will discuss what the concept of manifest destiny is and how it influenced westward expansion. Manifest destiny is the belief that God had destined the land from the Atlantic to the Pacific ocean to be part of the states. In 1803, the Louisiana Purchase was made and Lewis and Clark were sent to take notes and bring back information about the land. A side effect of their journey was the curiosity that bloomed within the people. Similarly, Richard Henry Dana published Two Years Before the Mast in 1840, a book that described the coast of California and further enhanced people s dreams. Another thing that brought about manifest destiny was the intense immigration of Europeans from 1824 1848, which meant more people would need to move west. However, there were some obstacles to acquiring the land between the Atlantic and Pacific, as some land was occupied by Britain and Mexico such as the Oregon territory and Texas. Although Oregon was partly occupied by Britain, many people were

Some of the low fat diet foods include vegetables and fruits that are very important to the human body. The low fat diet helps a person maintain a healthy weight and reduce the risk of illnesses. So, to compare and contrast the two diets, we realize that high fat diet puts the body at risk by serious illnesses and diseases. For example, high fat diet can result in a heart attack because of the fat that gets deposit in the blood vessels and disrupts the flow of the blood; in contrast, low fat diet prevents the serious illnesses and diseases like heart attack. Low fat diet also helps reduce weight, and obtain a normal lifestyle by keeping the body balanced, whereas the high fat diet can cause obesity and unbalanced weight. By comparing and contrasting the two diets, it becomes obvious that low fat diet is much better than the high fat diet. In conclusion, I believe people should choose a low fat diet to obtain a normal healthy lifestyle. I believe that the low fat diet can also stimulate us to do better. Retailers with very high transaction volumes may be another example because if their IT is not reliable for even a short time period, their sales losses can be considerable. Another example of a business in the Factory quadrant is an airline: these companies may not invest in current IT to compete in new ways, but require 24 /7 reliability for continued operations in booking flights, checking in passengers, etc. 7. What three IT assets have been identified as more important in today s Internet age, and why? [Note: The three assets are presented in Figure 1.2] Technology Assets, Relationship Assets, and Human Assets must all be managed effectively by IT leaders in modern IT organizations. The Technology Assets are becoming more complex and businesses are increasingly dependent upon these resources. It is important for IT managers to help business managers understand the value of standard IT platforms across the organization to ensure reliable computer and communications operations. In addition to effectively managing the technological assets, IT managers must continually evaluate the Relationship Assets: how well the IS department is working with business managers so that IT investment and implementation decisions are made that benefit the organization. IT leaders who partner well with business managers are most likely to implement IT solutions that provide value to the business organization.

Psalmscontinues in a happy uplifting tone, where the people continue to ask for forgiveness because the people have finally praised Godthe way God always wanted them to. They believe to be the most valuable women in the kingdom, seducing many different men across. The time of singing is upon the people and spring arrives. • 8. Islation in So Far From God, Beloved, and The Guardians In the novels So Far from God and Guardians by Ana Castillo and Beloved and by Toni Morrison we see how isolation can create a need for community and support from others. Isolation as demonstrated in these texts is something that is not dealt with properly. Getting through a tough situation may be hard, but it does not have to be a solo act. It can be said; a person who feel they need to isolate themselves from their community are only going to make their situation worse, and if support from the community is not accepted isolation becomes more of a threat than a danger to the person who is not accepting the help. It can be debated, that La Loca in So Far From God, Sethe in Beloved, and Regina in the Guardians have all demonstrated how isolation can be dangerous for a person should not be taken lightly, and community support should be taken advantage of if offered. Any kind of support given to help a person through a tough time is better than dealing with it alone. In So far from God isolation becomes a presence in La Loca s life from the day she was born. La Loca s isolation is different in a way that she did not allow any type of human contact what so ever. As a child she had a phobia of germs which kept her at home and unable to live a normal life. Because of this, La Loca ultimately chooses to isolate herself as a way to be kept away from peoplebecause she thinks they smell and can not stand to be around them. As La Loca states: The occasions when La Loca
  • 9. The Marketing Plan The Marketing Plan Developing a Marketing plan As with any business venture, your entry into international markets should be well planned. A detailed marketing plan should be developed to provide a blueprint for your marketing activities. Whether you are a small family run attraction or an international airline, the principles for a marketing plan are the same. The purpose of marketing is to match the right product to the right market, providing an optimum return on investment. It is more than just advertising. Essentially there are four elements (the four P s) of marketing: product, price, place and promotion. A good marketing plan incorporates a combination of these elements. Understanding your consumer target markets will guide the development of your product, how you price your product in the marketplace, where you offer your product for sale and how you promote your product to consumers. Consumer characteristics such as age, socio economic background, lifestyle choices and personal values, as well as identification of their key needs, will further define those consumers who may be interested in your product. Targeting particular countries or market segments enables you to more effectively tailor your product and your marketing and promotional activities. Many travel and tourism products make the mistake of trying to appeal to all markets and all people. When dealing in the international markets, it is impossible to be all things to all people. Don t try to enter every market at once, select your markets carefully and take the time to plan your approach. Plan your strategy carefully, allocating your resources to the most appropriate markets which will generate the greatest return. Consider the following points when selecting a target market and consumer segment: What does the consumer (or market) want? What can I provide to meet the consumer s needs? What is the size of the market? Is the market large enough to support the marketing costs required? Will I receive a return on
  • 10. Boarding Schools Affected Native American Life How Boarding Schools Came To Be In American history, many things have affected Native American life and one of the biggest ones was boarding schools being created. Boarding schools may not seem like a very big deal but has affected a large part of Native American life. In the time prior to these schools being created, the American government s main issue was finding a place to move Native Americans to, since their homelands were now under the control of the government. Eventually, the tens of thousands of native americans were put onto designated lands called reservations and attended boarding schools. Many Native Americans remember this time as nothing but abuse and desecration of their culture. Boarding schools greatly affected and influenced the life of tens of thousands of native americans during this time period but their lasting effects are still carried into today (Bear 2008). Jealousy in Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, and Winter s Tale The common thread of jealousy ties together the main plots in Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, and The Winter s Tale. In each of these plays, the main conflict is centered around some form of jealousy. While jealousy is the mutual, most prominent cause for turmoil in these plays, its effects on the characters, and ultimately the plots, is different in each case. Ultimately, the deception based on Iago s jealousy, which resulted in Othello s induced jealousy, brought about the downfall of most of the characters in the play including Iago himself. The way jealousy is introduced into the plot of The Winter s Taleis much different than Othello, and thus it has different results. In Othello, the jealousy was incited by Iago, a character; in The Winter s Tale, no one purposely inspired Leontes jealousy, he came about it on his own. In this way, no character wielded jealousy as a weapon against another but, rather, it was both introduced by and used on the same character. Leontes, although he specifically asked Hermione to be nice to Polixenes, completely misinterpreted her actions and took them to be signs of infidelity. He was so convinced by his jealousy that Hermione was unfaithful that he refused to believe the baby was his daughter, and had her sent away. Everyone suffered from Leontes jealous rage for sixteen years until Perdita came back and the misunderstanding was resolved. The difference in this resolution is that it had a happy ending. Although some characters died as a result of Leontes unfounded jealousy, all of the main characters ended up alive and happy. In this way, the jealousy did not have such a drastic, negative effect because it was not intended to by any of the characters. In Much Ado About Nothing,

Or, the fact that our opening character, Nick, a junkie, witnesses the girl he was with, eating someones face off. I could be wrong. Agricultural production entails investment of resources and farmers will have no incentive for making investments in areas where there is little opportunity for marketing their products or if the returns accruing from the sales of agricultural products do not reflect the opportunity cost of investment. As a result, most farmers in areas with few marketing opportunities are engaged primarily in subsistence agriculture, which has constrained improvement in their quality of life [3]. The problem of market access is linked to the inability of farmers to meet market standards, low volumes of produce, wide dispersion of producers, presence of middlemen and perceived low prices in the formal market [1 7]. Therefore, development policies in Ghana have focused on the modernization and commercialization of the agricultural sector in addressing the major agricultural production and marketing challenges. • 19. Theories Of Agency Theory The agency theory explores risk sharing among individuals or groups. Risk sharing situation raises a problem when co operating parties have different attitudes towards risk. Agency theory broadens the risk sharing concept to include the agency problem which occurs when co operating parties have different goals and there is division of labour (Kathleen. 1989). According to an auditquality forum (2005), an agency relationship arises when a principal (for example, an owner) engage another person as their agent(or steward) to perform a service on their behalf. This leads to delegation of some duties and responsibilities to the agent. Consequently, the principal has to place some trust in the agent hoping that they will act in their best interests.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The consequence of these problems is that the principals may lack trust in their agents and they may therefore need to put in place mechanisms, such as audit, to reinforce this trust. Agency theory is concerned in solving these problems that arise in an agency relationship. A simple agency theory model suggests that, as a result of information asymmetry and self interest, principals lack reasons to trust their agents and will seek to resolve these concerns by putting in place mechanisms to align the interests of agents with the principals and to reduce the scope for information asymmetry and opportunistic behaviour (Audit Quality Forum, 2005). According to Jensen and Meckling (1976), agency theory attempts to describe the agency relationship in the form of a metaphorical contract. That is, agency theory is a contract in which the principal is represented by management in executing the strategic goals and objectives and the auditors in providing assurance in their

Therefore, the justification of this discussion is to provide the comparison and differences between utilitarianism, virtue theory, and deontological ethics. In addition, it will conclude with my personal experience by relating virtues, values, and moral concepts of the virtue theories, utilitarianism, and deontological ethics. Virtue Theory Virtue ethics is defined as a person s character traits determined by the characteristics they represent either bad or good or still between the two. The theory focuses on an individual s integrity instead of the decisions they make. It is believed that whichever the situation a virtuous person will always practice kindness. However, their actions are never based on gaining favor, but instead they always do whatever is right as driven by their character traits. Charisma is a quality attributed to those with an exceptional ability to secure the devotion of a large number of people. Without some level of charisma, a leader cannot function successfully. • 31. The Demand Law States Quantity Demanded Luigi Vittatoe Professor Melvin Landry EEC2304 Introduction to Microeconomics January 26, 2016 Homework #3 Chapter 5 4.) The demand law states quantity demanded is inversely proportional to price for normal goods. The quantity demanded decreased by 30% so this means there is an increase in the price. The revenue increases by 15% due to this change. When the direction of price change and the direction of revenue change happen in the same direction the product is inelastic. 7.) A) If Maria spends one third of her income on clothing, then her income elasticity of demand is 1 because maintaining her clothing expenditures as a constant fraction of her income means the percentage change in her quantity of clothing must equal her percentage change in income. B) Maria s price elasticity of clothing demand is 1 because every percentage point increase in the price of clothing would lead her to reduce her quantity purchased by the same percentage. C) If Maria spends a smaller proportion of her income on clothing her quantity demanded will be lower. Her demand curve shifts to the left because she will spend a constant fraction of her income on clothing, and the new proportion spent on clothing is less than the earlier proportion of income spent. 10.) A) Price elasticity for cigarettes = 0.4 Current cost = $2 + Increase in price (2*50%) =$1; the new price = $3 so the government should increase the price of cigarettes by $1 and make the new price $3. B) If the government

By the 1970s, the British brought the idea back to England, where they replaced wood with rubber. Eventually this idea trickled down to many other countries including the United States. These rubber bullets can be shot from a standard police handgun. The bullet has a metal shell casing but instead of a metal bullet it is replaced by a black thick rubber projectile. In riots, the police will attempt to aim for any area below the neck; when the bullet hits an object it flattens out in order to cause no permanent damage. One man can cause less corruption than a bunch of corrupted politicians elected in different provinces of Pakistan. General Ayub khan after getting in power instantly took steps to remove the corruption in government institutes, and tried to remove the social corruption. He also promoted the laws of Islam. Additionally, for the time that D and D are both alive, they share the same temporal worm (for this argument the author stipulates that D and D share the exact same life until D dies). Once D dies however, his temporal worm ceases to be, and D s temporal worm carries on. Therefore, the entirety of D permanently overlaps with D, and D and D permanently overlap during the time being that both are alive.
