Protractors are used to measure angles by placing the circular protractor at the vertex of the angle, aligning one line of the angle with the protractor's reference line. The measurement is then read where the other line of the angle intersects the numbered scale. There are different types of angles including acute, right, obtuse, straight, reflex, and full rotation. Protractors allow angles to be accurately measured.
