This is an introduction to Micro-scholarship. This presentation includes active elements for brainstorming and providing feedback.
the goal is to show everyone (faculty, staff, student), that scholarship is within their reach.
This document discusses micro-scholarship, an innovative process for engaging in health professions educational scholarship. Micro-scholarship aims to make scholarship accessible to all levels and experiences by taking small, incremental steps from idea to publication. It involves creating "micro-assets" - small pieces of content that can stand alone or be combined - and sharing them within a "community of practice" of others interested in the topic. The process begins with an idea, brainstorming, refining the idea, sharing it as a micro-asset within the community, continuing to build on it, and eventually publishing and presenting to go from workshop to practice. Resources are provided to get started with micro-scholarship.
2022 IAMSE Preconference Workshop on Micro-Scholarship.
This active presentation explores the needs for Micro-Scholarship, the challenges associated with traditional Scholarship and how to get started. It also explains the needs and importance of a Community of Practice to help during the scholarship process.

DCU Community Knowledge Exchange Digital Marketing Plan 2015/2016 PresentationAdam Hide
This was a comprehensive digital marketing plan for The Community Knowledge Exchange in DCU for the 2015/2016 academic year. The plan was centered on some key marketing objectives to improve awareness, enhance CKE reputation, encourage students to address community issues & portray academic research as a positive community driver. The CKE had no budget and limited staff so we had to come up with ways to maximize efficiency with very few man hours.
The course introduces students to the concepts of social entrepreneurship and social enterprises. Students will learn how social entrepreneurs identify social problems and develop creative solutions to address them. They will also learn how to measure the social impact of their solutions. The goal is for students to understand how they can apply these skills to address social issues. Students will complete projects to develop and implement solutions for social problems in their community. Upon completing the course, students will be prepared to become social innovators and agents of social change.

Social media casestudy: Virtual International Day of the MidwifeSarah Stewart
The Virtual International Day of the Midwife (VIDM) is an annual online event that provides opportunities for midwives to access the latest research and innovations, network, and engage in informal lifelong learning through social media platforms. While attendees enjoyed the sense of community and free learning opportunities, some noted needs for improved event information and presentation quality. Moving forward, the organizers aim to address barriers like digital literacy and reach more resource-poor areas, while exploring ways to better integrate with midwifery organizations and conduct impact research.

Slides delivered during workshop at 501cometogether: The Illinois Nonprofit Conference, sponsored by Donors Forum, on October 16, 2012.
Social media is everywhere. Your donors are connecting with you on LinkedIn, your advocates are sharing links about your nonprofit on Twitter, your program participants are commenting on your Facebook page, and your staff is posting videos on YouTube--what's an executive director to do? How much should she do personally on behalf of the organization and how much should she manage it? As nonprofits explore new ways of fundraising, advocating, and conducting outreach online, it can be hard to know where to focus and invest your energies. In this workshop, I will share some strategies you can use to evaluate and manage your organization's approach to social media. We'll also discuss topics such as staff capacity, social media guidelines, and your personal/professional brand.
