Creative Writing Snow
Dark clouds were overhead blocking what little there was of the sunlight. Deep, deep snow was
everywhere. As he stepped into the snow, his foot sunk down into it. It came up a quarter of the way
up his thigh. Greer, this fucking snow, I hate the snow, so, so, so much. Why does it have to snow? He
pulled his frozen and slightly damp leg out of the snow. I feel even colder than before. The heavy
snowfall had meant the he couldn t drive, since the roads were covered in half a metre of snow,
forcing him to walk. I m glad my house is high up, now. I hate having going up a flight of stairs just to
get in my home. At least I m not snowed in. I wish I didn t have to go out. I m so, so bloody cold. It is

Gorbachev And The Soviet Union
This is a photo of Gorbachev giving a speech. Mikhail Gorbachev became Secretary General of the
Soviet Union in 1985, until he resigned in 1991. Gorbachev was much younger than the previous
leaders of the Soviet Union and had many ideas for reforms. After entering office, Gorbachev began to
implement a wide range of reforms. He sought to correct many problems in the Soviet Union,
including economic problems, the issues and history of harsh punishments against dissidents, and
unrest among the different groups that made up the Soviet Union. Gorbachev began to encourage a
culture of openness and honesty between the government and the Soviet people. This policy was
known as glasnost . Gorbachev also instituted a reform of restructuring the ... Show more content on

As the United States and the Soviet Union began to normalise their relationship, many people in the
Soviet republics began to feel that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for protection
against a military threat. President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev began this
process of détente in an attempt to pull back from the threat of nuclear war and to begin increased
trade between the United States and the Soviet Union. Détente made people feel safer as it decreased
the threat of nuclear war and included formal agreements on arms control and the security of Europe.
However, détente contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union as some of the Soviet republics decided
that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for protection against a military threat.
Therefore, they gradually realised that if they did not need that protection, then they did not need the
Soviet Union at all. Consequently, détente planted the seeds for some of the Soviet republics to dream
of independence.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Budgeting
A budget is a financial plan reflecting the business strategy and represents a more structured way of
communicating it to the team . The process by which a budget is built and agreed within an
organisation is called budgeting process or budgeting cycle , that represents one of the most important
financial planning tools. This cycle always starts with a vision or a goal, based on which the approach
to be used is chosen. The next step is the elaboration of the budget itself by allocating the right
resources in the right place. It is very important to keep track of it (the sooner a variance is spotted, the
better, as more time is available to understand it). The last stage is the evaluation process which should
lead to future improvements . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Walther, the above steps require a debate to determine the direction of the business. Reason why a
budgeting committee is created that includes senior level personnel of each unit of the organisation.
The members of this committee are involved throughout the budgeting process. They provide the
information relative to their own unit. The information is then compiled together and passed through
the organisation till an overall budget is obtained. The budgeting construction and agreement normally
follows the organisational chart. However, different organisations use different approaches. The two
basic ones are: Top down (Mandated budgets) or Bottom up (Participative

Essay On Macromolecules
Introduction
The main objective of the laboratory experiment was to test for the presence of protein, starch,
glycogen, and reducing sugars in 12 different samples using various assessments in order to ultimately
identify the unknown sample #26 as one of the four macromolecule groups.
Macromolecules consist of polymers formed by the linkage of small subunits called monomers
(Alberts et al., 2014). The four major groups are carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids
(Alberts et al., 2014). The 12 samples that were tested on in this laboratory experiment included
protein, beer, distilled water, honey, 0.3% glucose 1 phosphate, and 1% glucose, maltose, sucrose,
lactose, glycogen, and starch solutions, as well as the unknown sample #26. In order to identify
whether or not a macromolecule is present in a sample solution, each test has positive and negative
controls. In this case, a positive control reveals that the specific macromolecule being tested for is
present, whereas a negative control indicates that a reaction did not occur and the macromolecule
being tested for is not present (Johnson Besselsen, 2002).
The first test that was conducted was the biuret test to identify the presence of proteins, which are
polymers of amino acid subunits held together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When mixed with a sample containing an aldose reducing sugar, the free aldehyde groups on the end
of the straight chain sugar molecule reduces the Cu2+ ions in the Benedict s solution, which then
oxidizes to form a coloured Cu2O precipitate (Hill, 1982). The positive control ranges from yellow,
green, red, or brown precipitate, or a combination of these colours (Hill, 1982). However, if reducing
sugars were not present in the sample, the final colour of the solution would be blue because of
Benedict s solution s composition of blue Cu2+ ions, which would stay intact in the absence of a

Early Prosocial Development
Emotion socialization and child physiology predict Early Prosocial Development
The study was done to show the effects of intrapersonal maternal or being shaped by your mother, and
intrinsic physiological regulation or emotional self regulation on the development of early prosocial
development.(Scrimgeour, Buss, Davis, 2015, p.102) The participants of the study were (125) 2 year
old children 65 of them being female and their parents which averaged in age to be 32.49 years of age.
Only one of the participant s fathers participated in the study so they were all considered mothers for
the purpose of the study. The majority of the children were non Hispanic(90.4%) as well as the parents
(92.8) who participated (Scrimgeour et al., 2015, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Chamberland, Lacharite, Clement, Lessard , 2015, p.1) The requirements for the participants of this
study was that they had to be less than 9 years of age and exposed to multiple risk factors for child
maltreatment, These risk factors included behavior problems, victimisation, and general family
dysfunction. A total of 81 children baseline and 73 children at post test were from child preventive
services. In contrast 88 were from child protective services. (Scrimgeour et al., 2015, p.3) The average
age of the children who participated were 50 months of age. Approximately one half of the families
were single parent families, more than a third of the families had 3 or more children and nearly six out
of ten responded having education less than ninth grade. The data collection for the experiment was
done in two parts, Time one before or during the intervention, and Time two after the intervention.
Two researchers assisted in meeting with each of the families, one met with the parents and made
observations and an interview. While the other used assessment tools with the children. The results
showed a strong correlation in both Time one and two with low parental stress, and low child abuse
potential for socioemotional development. The last variable however good quality of home
environment, only correlated with Time one. Cognitive/language development had a positive
correlation in both Time one and two. (Scrimgeour et al., 2015, p.6) The study did a great job in
showing potential correlations in households where children might be at risk for hindered
development. It is unknown how applicable the results since the ethnic demographic wasn t given and
might influence the results through cultural differences, As a whole though it seems reliable.

The Psychological Effects Of Binge Drinking Among College...
In the United States, over 80% of college students have at least one alcoholic drink over a two week
time period. Out of these college students, 40% are binge drinking on occasion. (Johnston, O Malley,
Bachman, Schulenberg, 2009). Binge drinking among college students is due to the college
environment and mostly effects freshmen in college. Now that young people are no longer living in
their parents home and are not being supervised as much as they were before they now have the
freedom to do whatever with whom ever. Which is where peer interaction comes into play. College is
the time that young adults find new friends and discover themselves more. Peers provide the guidance
and support needed to overcome the transition period. Peer pressure, is the direct influence on people
by peers, or an individual who gets encouraged to follow their peers by changing their attitudes,
values or behaviors to conform to those of the influencing group or individual. Peer pressure is a
major factor in the development of risk taking behaviors. Peers act as influential model by
introducing, providing, or pressuring risky activities to other peers. In order to make these statistics go
down colleges must and should provide resources and trainings that help college students successfully
prevail over the pressures of peer pressure and social norms to drink.

The Negative Effects Of Homework On Students In Elementary...
The Effects of Homework In almost all schools, teachers assign homework assignments to students
starting in elementary school. When students begin to grow older and are faced with more challenging
classes in junior high and high school, the workload begins to pile up. Students are now becoming
more stressed and have anxiety because of the amount of work that is placed on them which is even
taking a toll on their family life. Many students end up completing the assignment in order to just get
credit for it without a regard for learning. But over the years, homework has begun to lose its purpose.
Instead of the students focusing on only completing their homework in order to get good grades, they
should be more focused on learning the material that they are studying. Without truly understanding
the material in the classes that students might be taking, school is essentially a waste of time. The
effects of mass quantities of schoolwork on students that are given by teachers leads students to
underperform in school due to the mental stress and anxiety.
As students begin to move onto other levels of school starting in elementary, they begin to see an
increase in the amount of work they are given. In elementary school, students start to face the problem
of excessive amounts of homework, and this is a problem that has been frequently talked in the past.
Debates over whether or not students should have homework started back in the 19th century. During
this time, most high schools

Water Flow of Flouride
First of all, naturally fluoridated water has fluorine levels of approximately 0.4 mg/L, while artificially
fluoridated water can have levels up to 1.0mg/L. This long term ingestion of excess fluorine can lead
to fluorosis which may negatively impact teeth and bones. Dental fluorosis occurs during tooth
development. Teeth are mostly composed of hydroxylapatite, which is a mineral form of calcium.
When intake of fluoride increases, it also increases apatite content, creating white streaks and in more
serious cases cause mottling of teeth. In addition, fluoride levels in breast milk are around 0.004mg/L.
Therefore, infants who drink baby formula with fluoridated water will be exposed to 300 times more
fluoride, increasing the risk of developing dental fluorosis. Skeletal fluorosis is another disease in
which fluoride accumulates in the bone for several years. Early symptoms of skeletal fluorosis may be
forms of arthritis such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis which are joint pains and stiffness. In
more severe cases, the bone can calcify, which is the conversion of soft bone tissue into hard and
insoluble calcium compounds. This can lead to muscle and joint impairment. (WHO) For over 40
years, U.S health organizations have claimed that skeletal fluorosis will not develop unless an
individual intake 10 20mg/L of fluoride every day. However, studies in India and China shows that a
person can have skeletal fluorosis with levels of 0.7 1.5mg/L. Fluoride can also impact

Placing the Blame in Macbeth Essay
Placing the Blame in Macbeth
The blame for the tragedy of Macbeth must be apportioned between the three witches, Lady Macbeth
and Macbeth himself.
The three witches play a very important role in affecting the actions of Macbeth with their ability to
steer him in the direction they desire. They not only use their supernatural powers but also prey on his
greed and ambition.
All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee thane of Glamis!
All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!
All hail Macbeth! That shalt be king hereafter!
These predictions are effective in attracting Macbeth s attention because they feed off his desire for
what they promise. At this point in the play he is the newly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

His vivid imagination, coupled with his fear of the witches and the supernatural in general, is shown in
the lines:
Macbeth I conjure you, by that which you profess
(howe er you come to know it) answer me;
though you untie the winds and let them fight against the churches, though the yeasty waves confound
and swallow navigation up
His weakness is also shown in the way that once he starts his path he becomes consumed by the
process and plunges deeper into a quagmire of murder and tyranny:
Macbeth I am in blood
Step t in so far that, should I wade no more,
Returning were as tedious as go o er
Another set of beliefs held at that time was that all things were set in their correct places and this
applied to people as well. The play could be hinting that Macbeth should have been able to master his
own ambition and reconcile himself to his place in life.
The fact that the witches can affect Macbeth so easily shows what a weak character he has. The first
predictions have such a strong influence on Macbeth that he sends his wife, Lady Macbeth, a letter
asking her advice on how to respond to the witches words, showing again the weakness of his
character.
The tragedy of Macbeth could simply be the tale of a hero who is destroyed by a certain weakness of
character, by ambition

Compare And Contrast Ming And Qing Dynasty
I did the Ming and Qing Dynasty because I found this more interesting than any other subject. Their
Advancements during the their lifetime was very interesting! The Ming Dynasty was the first to

Dynasties took place in China, in the 15th 16th century. There were many new civilizations that were
created during this time period, especially the world s biggest wooden city The Forbidden City. In this
time period there was new amazing advancements in Architecture and Literature. China is known for
having the greatest architecture in the world because the enjoyed every moment of their hard beautiful

The Qing Dynasty was also a very successful time period like the advancing technology but they

Case Study Of Genting
Much of Genting s success was due to its monopoly position as the sole casino owner in Malaysia.
The increasingly conservative mood of the Muslim population in the country made it unlikely that
new challengers would appear in the domestic market. However, that same shift in religious sentiment
raised the possibility that Genting s own license might one day be withdrawn. At the same time,
Genting faced new competition elsewhere in the region, as a number of neighboring countries began
authorizing the construction of casinos. Genting took a multifaceted approach to confronting this
situation. On the one hand, the company continued redeveloping the resort site itself away from its

Philippines. The company also launched a new Property division, conducted through subsidiary
Asiatic Indahpura, which began developing a 6,800 acre landsite in Kulai, Johor. Genting increasingly
sought to expand its international holdings, while at the same time seeking to buttress its reliance on
the more volatile tourism market with an extension into other industries. This effort was led in large
part by Lim s son, Lim Kok Thay. In 1994, the company launched a new Paper Packaging division

company expanded that operation downstream, launching production of corrugated packaging. The

The Effect of Temperature on the Light Transmission on the Permeability of a Beetroot Cell
When the bathing solution is between 3°C and 60°C the light transmission decreases. The light
transmission decreases more rapidly when the bathing solution is over 60°C. The amount of beetroot
pigment released does increase as the bathing temperature increases. The light transmission average
was 85.8% when the bathing solution was 3°C so less pigment was released. At 80°C the light
transmission was 33.0% which shows that more pigment was released from the beetroot cell at a
higher temperature.

It would be difficult to keep the temperature constant for this amount of time so we put the boiling
tube with the bathing solution into a beaker of water at the required temperature. This insulted the
bathing solution so that it stayed at the right temperature for the full 2 minutes. Some groups did not
do this so over the 2 minutes the temperature was not exact. If the bathing solution was not at the
correct temperature the results may not be as reliable. Using an electronic thermostatic water bath
would keep the temperature of the bathing solution constant during the 2 minutes and therefore the
results would be more reliable.
For the lowest temperature, 3°C, we used ice. The highest light transmission is 97% and the lowest is
77%. This large range could be because as th experiment went on the temperature of the ice increased.
The 97% could have been measured in the beginning and the 77% measure at the end. The results for
3°C could be taken again all at the same time. The results taken at 20°C have the smallest range. This
could be because it was the closest to room temperature and therefore easier to maintain the bathing

Notes On Sea Kayaking Force Wind
Kayaking
When everyone hears the word kayaking they all think about one type of boat and one type of
kayaking and they are sea kayaking and a sit on top. Let s talk about sea kayaking before boats and
different types of equipment shall we? Sea kayaking to most kayakers is an unknown place. People
who kayak don t generally think of going out on the sea. Either because they think that the tides will
drag them out or that it is to much work to move your boat, to these people I say that this is absolutely
not true and it is no harder to move on the sea than to move on a flowing river. admittedly on a river
you don t have big waves but still there is next to no difference in how hard it is to move, and as for
the tides unless you irresponsible and decide to go out in gala force wind, then the only thing you have
to think about is the current not the tide. Once you understand all of these variables you can have tons
of fun out there after all the sea is the biggest white water centre there is.
Away from sea kayaking let s look at some of the other aspects of kayaking. There are many different
types of kayaking there is white water kayaking that is all to do with what is basically throwing

Applying Economics Using An Example Of Economic Problem...
Section A Question One: a) Define economics using an example of economic problem from your own
life. Economics is the social science concerned with the production and consumption of goods and
services and the analysis of the commercial activities of a society. Economic problem is to match
resources to the unlimited wants and needs. For example: if you have $10 to spend, and you want to
buy a book which costs $10 each and a pencil that costs $1 each. Now buying a book mean the loss of
the benefit that would have been gained from the 10 pencils. b) Outline the steps needed to develop an
economic model. Explain how models help in economic decision making. An Economic model is
defined as a theoretical construct that represents economic processes through a set of variables and a
set of logical or quantitative relationships between the two. The steps needed to develop an economic
model are: 1. Identify the problem 2. Identify stakeholders in the problem 3. Identify alternate
strategies to solve problem 4. Identify resources to implement chosen strategy 5. Implement 6.
Evaluate what was accomplished 7. Modify or Disseminate problem Models help in decision making
as they focus to gain a better understanding of how things work, to observe patterns, and to predict the
results of stimuli. They help to simplify and abstract from observed data, and also serve as a means of
selection of data based on a paradigm of econometric study. b) Construct a Production Possibility

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Servals
The Serval enclosure provides adequate functioning and living throughout the enclosure through the
use of already implemented enrichment techniques. This includes climbing structures as well as
shrubs to provide cover and the use of heat lamps. Despite these enrichments the Adelaide Zoo
enclosure does not seem to meet behavioural needs. Stuart and Stuart (2016), state Servals are found
throughout swamp and grasslands with areas that provide vegetation for coverage, however the
Adelaide Zoo has provided a very dry environment for the Servals. As Servals are found throughout
landscapes that contain a permanent water source the enclosure seems insufficient, until water and
vegetation aspects are made available to meet behavioural needs. This was also proven when visiting
the zoo as the Servals were displaying abnormal behavior such as pacing. Canniff (2011), state that
Servals are solitary animals due to their territorial nature however the enclosure at the Adelaide Zoo
has them housed with other Servals. As these Servals are raised in captivity and not in the wild, it is
difficult to determine whether this species will benefit from being housed with others, therefore more
research will need to be conducted to determine this effect. (b) Keeper Point of View (4 marks)
Climbing structures and logs throughout the enclosure would need to be maintained to ensure that left
over food on the branches or inside the log, does not rot through the wood or attract unwanted insects.

The Battle Of The Bulge
Battle of the Bulge Christopher Adams NCOA SLC 15 005 Battle of the Bulge Introduction The
Battle of the Bulge, a massive German counteroffensive which began in December 1944, ultimately
produced the largest casualty rate in any one battle throughout World War II. The Allied Forces alone
lost almost 80,000 at the Battle of the Bulge. This casualty rate could have been much higher if Hitler
would ve grasped the importance and value of supply and logistical support. As a result, more than
1,500 tanks within Hitler s most elite Panzer units simply ran out of gas only days after the Bulge
broke through the Allied western front lines. However, the purpose of this paper is not to examine

Setting the Stage (The Battle) Arguably the most infamous battle during World War II, the Battle of
the Bulge took place in the heavily wooded area of the Ardennes Forest region. The overall goal of
this massive German counteroffensive was to break through the Western Front which consisted of
both US and British forces. The primary objective behind Hitler s plan was too simply take back the
initiative the Germans lost on beach of Normandy France. A few months prior to the Battle of the
Bulge, Hitler had barely survived an assassination attempt. On 20 July 1944, one of Hitler s most
trusted officers placed a bomb in a brief case and which he left underneath the table during a meeting
(Gavin, J. (2003). The bomb unfortunately did not kill Hitler but it did represent the fact that, within
Hitler s inner circle, there were disenfranchised high ranking German officers who wanted Hitler dead.
45 days before the Battle of the Bulge, Hitler was almost assassinated by one of his most trusted
German Officers, an event which Allied Forces remained unaware of for a long time. Hitler s plan
focused on the use of his most elite Panzer units with more than 1,500 tanks, 2,000 artillery guns, and
an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 infantry soldiers (Gavin, J. (2003). The notion that Hitler even had
the ability to mount a counteroffensive that big was considered impossible by the higher command of
the Allied Forces. This, along with the attempted assassination,

Thomas Jefferson Accomplishments
The outcomes of the Revolutionary war paved the way towards an expansion of territory sought out to
respect civil liberties by outlawing slavery , reforming the education platform and is considered one of
the most important legislative acts of the confederation congress. Thomas Jefferson was a key player
as he created a vision with an empire based on principles novel at the time. On July 13, 1787 the
Northwest Ordinance came into place, a new legislation which expanded the original 13 states
westward not only acquiring land, but provided a framework for educational organization and political
incorporation in the new territories. All it took was a proposition, an idea by a Virginia delegate by the
name of Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia into a
wealthy and distinguished family. Jefferson served his country for over five decades, he was a public
official, philosopher, historian and even a plantation owner. His interests in law led him to serve the
local government as a magistrate, county lieutenant and as a member of the House of Burgesses. Some
of Thomas Jefferson s major accomplishments and contributions include , but are not limited to the
Louisiana Purchase in 1803 , his support towards the Lewis and Clark Expedition, abolishing, the
slave trade, his views on what is now called the Northwest Ordinance and of course, his presidency.

What Is The First Cause Argument
The first cause argument is based on cause and effect, it attests that the universe must have a cause,
and that this cause is God. The first cause argument is also known as the cosmological argument. The
universe could not have come into being without something that started it. Therefore, this argument
does show that God exists. This essay will analyse the first cause argument, provide proof of why God
is shown that he exists by the first cause argument and, explore the objections and counter objections
that people have when it comes to this argument.
The first cause argument shows the existence of God through the statement that the universe must
have a cause and as result, it is impossible for there to be an infinite cycle of causes so therefore, God
exists because he is the first cause. The strength of this argument is that it indicates the need for
something in order for there to be a beginning, but why conclude that this Something is God? I
conclude that this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We have the gift of existence, and our existence was attained from our causes. If things and people
came into existence using their own nature without it being passed down to them through other people
there would be no need for a first cause but, people do not exist from their own nature which means
that they have a cause which goes to show that there is Indeed a first cause and that this cause must be
God. The universe only has beings that do not exist on their own essence, that are not eternal or
necessary, all beings in the universe need a cause. Beings that are not self explanatory, eternal or
necessary are called dependent or contingent. Furthermore, a being who is self explanatory is called a
necessary being. Dependent beings need causes. If the independent being does not exist, then all the
other dependent beings that rely on it will not exist. Dependent beings do exist and therefore an

Hero s Journey Thomas Journey
Thomas wakes up in a metal box that rises him up from the underground to the land above known as
the Glade. He has no memory of anything, anyone, or even where he is. The only thing he remembers
is his name. Thomas, once discovering where he is and who these boys are around him he comes to
the realization of who is in charge of the place. It is led by two of the elder boys; Alby, the leader, and
Newt, the second in charge. Every week the box in the middle of the glade surfaces from beneath the
ground to supply the boys with new food, tools and weapons. But every month a new boy with no

his arrival. The girl slips into a coma and when Thomas comes to visit her, he hears her voice
telepathically in his head speaking out to him. She wakes up and informs Thomas that they ve known
each other before their arrival from the maze. Ever since she showed up she pulled the switch that
made everything in the Maze begin to change. Soon the sun disappears, the deliveries from the metal
box stop arriving, and the doors of the Maze stay open all night, which allows the Grievers to enter
and kill the gladers one by one. Thomas suggests that the movement of the walls in the Maze aren t
just at random but a code. He also uncovers the mystery that of which where the grievers stay and that
happens to be The Cliff or the Griever Hole . Thomas explains that if the Grievers can go down the
cliff and come up each night then so can the gladers. Most of the Gladers decide to make a run for it
down the griever hole, even though it could be suicide taking the Grievers head on, but they figured
that staying in the Glade would lead to their death for

Eminent Domain Paper
When Should Eminent Domain be Used?
When should a city or state use their eminent domain powers? Over the past few years there have been
a couple of cases that raised the questions of when eminent domain should be used. One of the most
controversial cases in the history of the United States was the Kelo v New
London Supreme Court ruling. In order to generate tax revenue, add jobs, and to prevent bankruptcy,
the government s right to initiate eminent domain for public good is a necessary evil.
Eminent domain in definition is the right or power of public purposes without the owner s consent on
payment of just compensation ( Eminent Domain History ). Eminent domain has been a part of the
United States ever since the constitution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which would cause the city to grow and that would provide more money to the government with the
increased tax revenue from all of the new families. This could create more jobs, because more
companies might be interested in locating there due to all of the growth. Eminent domain should also
be used by a city or state if it prevents it from going bankrupt.
A city or state should use eminent domain if it prevents it from going bankrupt. If a city is near
bankrupt then it cannot provide all of the necessary items that a city needs in order to run like it is
supposed to. For example, if a city is short of funds then it would have to reduce its budget in places
that would harm the city. It would have to cut money from the police, and fire departments. However,
by using their eminent domain powers a city could keep all of this from happening by letting a
business come that would create thousands in tax dollars, and add jobs to the city. This means that a
reduction in the police and fire departments would not happen and the city would still run smoothly.
The cities and states that use eminent domain to acquire land in order to keep themselves running
smoothly is sad; however, these cities and states are looking out for what is best for their areas. These
cities and states are not trying to make families move out of their homes in order to earn a quick
dollar. These cities and states are only

my patient understand what the physician is telling them about their illness. It is important that they

  • 2. Creative Writing Snow Dark clouds were overhead blocking what little there was of the sunlight. Deep, deep snow was everywhere. As he stepped into the snow, his foot sunk down into it. It came up a quarter of the way up his thigh. Greer, this fucking snow, I hate the snow, so, so, so much. Why does it have to snow? He pulled his frozen and slightly damp leg out of the snow. I feel even colder than before. The heavy snowfall had meant the he couldn t drive, since the roads were covered in half a metre of snow, forcing him to walk. I m glad my house is high up, now. • 3. Gorbachev And The Soviet Union This is a photo of Gorbachev giving a speech. Mikhail Gorbachev became Secretary General of the Soviet Union in 1985, until he resigned in 1991. Gorbachev was much younger than the previous leaders of the Soviet Union and had many ideas for reforms. After entering office, Gorbachev began to implement a wide range of reforms. He sought to correct many problems in the Soviet Union, including economic problems, the issues and history of harsh punishments against dissidents, and unrest among the different groups that made up the Soviet Union. Gorbachev began to encourage a culture of openness and honesty between the government and the Soviet people. This policy was known as glasnost . Gorbachev also instituted a reform of restructuring the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the United States and the Soviet Union began to normalise their relationship, many people in the Soviet republics began to feel that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for protection against a military threat. President Richard Nixon and Soviet Premier Leonid Brezhnev began this process of détente in an attempt to pull back from the threat of nuclear war and to begin increased trade between the United States and the Soviet Union. Détente made people feel safer as it decreased the threat of nuclear war and included formal agreements on arms control and the security of Europe. However, détente contributed to the fall of the Soviet Union as some of the Soviet republics decided that they no longer needed to be part of the Soviet Union for protection against a military threat. Therefore, they gradually realised that if they did not need that protection, then they did not need the Soviet Union at all. Consequently, détente planted the seeds for some of the Soviet republics to dream of independence. This photograph is the mark of the Polish Trade Union, Solidarity. The symbol of the Solidarity movement became renown throughout the world. In 1980, the Solidarity movement began in Poland and set the stage for a weakening of Soviet Communist power. • 4. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Budgeting A budget is a financial plan reflecting the business strategy and represents a more structured way of communicating it to the team . The process by which a budget is built and agreed within an organisation is called budgeting process or budgeting cycle , that represents one of the most important financial planning tools. This cycle always starts with a vision or a goal, based on which the approach to be used is chosen. The next step is the elaboration of the budget itself by allocating the right resources in the right place. It is very important to keep track of it (the sooner a variance is spotted, the better, as more time is available to understand it). The last stage is the evaluation process which should lead to future improvements . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Essay On Macromolecules Introduction The main objective of the laboratory experiment was to test for the presence of protein, starch, glycogen, and reducing sugars in 12 different samples using various assessments in order to ultimately identify the unknown sample #26 as one of the four macromolecule groups. Macromolecules consist of polymers formed by the linkage of small subunits called monomers (Alberts et al., 2014). The four major groups are carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids (Alberts et al., 2014). The 12 samples that were tested on in this laboratory experiment included protein, beer, distilled water, honey, 0.3% glucose 1 phosphate, and 1% glucose, maltose, sucrose, lactose, glycogen, and starch solutions, as well as the unknown sample #26. In order to identify whether or not a macromolecule is present in a sample solution, each test has positive and negative controls. In this case, a positive control reveals that the specific macromolecule being tested for is present, whereas a negative control indicates that a reaction did not occur and the macromolecule being tested for is not present (Johnson Besselsen, 2002). The first test that was conducted was the biuret test to identify the presence of proteins, which are polymers of amino acid subunits held together ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When mixed with a sample containing an aldose reducing sugar, the free aldehyde groups on the end of the straight chain sugar molecule reduces the Cu2+ ions in the Benedict s solution, which then oxidizes to form a coloured Cu2O precipitate (Hill, 1982). The positive control ranges from yellow, green, red, or brown precipitate, or a combination of these colours (Hill, 1982). However, if reducing sugars were not present in the sample, the final colour of the solution would be blue because of Benedict s solution s composition of blue Cu2+ ions, which would stay intact in the absence of a reducing sugar (Hill, ... The data collection for the experiment was done in two parts, Time one before or during the intervention, and Time two after the intervention. Two researchers assisted in meeting with each of the families, one met with the parents and made observations and an interview. While the other used assessment tools with the children. The results showed a strong correlation in both Time one and two with low parental stress, and low child abuse potential for socioemotional development. The last variable however good quality of home environment, only correlated with Time one. Cognitive/language development had a positive correlation in both Time one and two. (Scrimgeour et al., 2015, p.6) The study did a great job in showing potential correlations in households where children might be at risk for hindered development. It is unknown how applicable the results since the ethnic demographic wasn t given and might influence the results through cultural differences, As a whole though it seems reliable. • 7. The Psychological Effects Of Binge Drinking Among College... In the United States, over 80% of college students have at least one alcoholic drink over a two week time period. Out of these college students, 40% are binge drinking on occasion. (Johnston, O Malley, Bachman, Schulenberg, 2009). Binge drinking among college students is due to the college environment and mostly effects freshmen in college. Now that young people are no longer living in their parents home and are not being supervised as much as they were before they now have the freedom to do whatever with whom ever. Peers provide the guidance and support needed to overcome the transition period. Peer pressure, is the direct influence on people by peers, or an individual who gets encouraged to follow their peers by changing their attitudes, values or behaviors to conform to those of the influencing group or individual. • 8. The Negative Effects Of Homework On Students In Elementary... The Effects of Homework In almost all schools, teachers assign homework assignments to students starting in elementary school. When students begin to grow older and are faced with more challenging classes in junior high and high school, the workload begins to pile up. Students are now becoming more stressed and have anxiety because of the amount of work that is placed on them which is even taking a toll on their family life. Many students end up completing the assignment in order to just get credit for it without a regard for learning. But over the years, homework has begun to lose its purpose. Instead of the students focusing on only completing their homework in order to get good grades, they should be more focused on learning the material that they are studying. Without truly understanding the material in the classes that students might be taking, school is essentially a waste of time. The effects of mass quantities of schoolwork on students that are given by teachers leads students to underperform in school due to the mental stress and anxiety. As students begin to move onto other levels of school starting in elementary, they begin to see an increase in the amount of work they are given. In elementary school, students start to face the problem of excessive amounts of homework, and this is a problem that has been frequently talked in the past. Debates over whether or not students should have homework started back in the 19th century. During this time, most high schools ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Water Flow of Flouride First of all, naturally fluoridated water has fluorine levels of approximately 0.4 mg/L, while artificially fluoridated water can have levels up to 1.0mg/L. This long term ingestion of excess fluorine can lead to fluorosis which may negatively impact teeth and bones. Dental fluorosis occurs during tooth development. Teeth are mostly composed of hydroxylapatite, which is a mineral form of calcium. When intake of fluoride increases, it also increases apatite content, creating white streaks and in more serious cases cause mottling of teeth. In addition, fluoride levels in breast milk are around 0.004mg/L. Therefore, infants who drink baby formula with fluoridated water will be exposed to 300 times more fluoride, increasing the risk of developing dental fluorosis. Skeletal fluorosis is another disease in which fluoride accumulates in the bone for several years. Early symptoms of skeletal fluorosis may be forms of arthritis such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis which are joint pains and stiffness. In more severe cases, the bone can calcify, which is the conversion of soft bone tissue into hard and insoluble calcium compounds. This can lead to muscle and joint impairment. (WHO) For over 40 years, U.S health organizations have claimed that skeletal fluorosis will not develop unless an individual intake 10 20mg/L of fluoride every day. However, studies in India and China shows that a person can have skeletal fluorosis with levels of 0.7 1.5mg/L. Fluoride can also impact ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They not only use their supernatural powers but also prey on his greed and ambition. All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee thane of Glamis! All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Cawdor! The play could be hinting that Macbeth should have been able to master his own ambition and reconcile himself to his place in life. The fact that the witches can affect Macbeth so easily shows what a weak character he has. The first predictions have such a strong influence on Macbeth that he sends his wife, Lady Macbeth, a letter asking her advice on how to respond to the witches words, showing again the weakness of his character. The increasingly conservative mood of the Muslim population in the country made it unlikely that new challengers would appear in the domestic market. At the same time, Genting faced new competition elsewhere in the region, as a number of neighboring countries began authorizing the construction of casinos. Beetroot Lab Report The Effect of Temperature on the Light Transmission on the Permeability of a Beetroot Cell When the bathing solution is between 3°C and 60°C the light transmission decreases. The light transmission decreases more rapidly when the bathing solution is over 60°C. The amount of beetroot pigment released does increase as the bathing temperature increases. The light transmission average was 85.8% when the bathing solution was 3°C so less pigment was released. At 80°C the light transmission was 33.0% which shows that more pigment was released from the beetroot cell at a higher temperature. The cell membrane increases in fluidity as the temperature begins to increase (3°C to 60°C). The phospholipids have no bonds and begin to move around more which releases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would be difficult to keep the temperature constant for this amount of time so we put the boiling tube with the bathing solution into a beaker of water at the required temperature. This insulted the bathing solution so that it stayed at the right temperature for the full 2 minutes. Some groups did not do this so over the 2 minutes the temperature was not exact. If the bathing solution was not at the correct temperature the results may not be as reliable. Using an electronic thermostatic water bath would keep the temperature of the bathing solution constant during the 2 minutes and therefore the results would be more reliable. For the lowest temperature, 3°C, we used ice. The highest light transmission is 97% and the lowest is 77%. This large range could be because as th experiment went on the temperature of the ice increased. The 97% could have been measured in the beginning and the 77% measure at the end. The results for 3°C could be taken again all at the same time. The results taken at 20°C have the smallest range. The Objectives Of The Sustainable Development Goals Goal 14 of the Sustainable Development Goals aims to Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. ( Open Working Group Proposal for Sustainable Development Goals. ) Under this main goal lies seven sub goals, of which some are more measurable than others. All goals can be measured with a quantifiable unit, although some measurements may be harder to interpret than others. Goal 14.1 logically proves to be measurable, as marine pollution is a material measure. • 21. Notes On Sea Kayaking Force Wind Kayaking When everyone hears the word kayaking they all think about one type of boat and one type of kayaking and they are sea kayaking and a sit on top. Let s talk about sea kayaking before boats and different types of equipment shall we? Sea kayaking to most kayakers is an unknown place. People who kayak don t generally think of going out on the sea. Either because they think that the tides will drag them out or that it is to much work to move your boat, to these people I say that this is absolutely not true and it is no harder to move on the sea than to move on a flowing river. admittedly on a river you don t have big waves but still there is next to no difference in how hard it is to move, and as for the tides unless you irresponsible and decide to go out in gala force wind, then the only thing you have to think about is the current not the tide. Once you understand all of these variables you can have tons of fun out there after all the sea is the biggest white water centre there is. Away from sea kayaking let s look at some of the other aspects of kayaking. There are many different types of kayaking there is white water kayaking that is all to do with what is basically throwing yourself down the most wildest rivers you can and praying you come out the other end with yourself and all your stuff intact. There is also slalom which is going through gates whilst going down a rapid, and then there is freestyle. Now personally I like freestyle it is not really the kind of ... • 22. Applying Economics Using An Example Of Economic Problem... Section A Question One: a) Define economics using an example of economic problem from your own life. Economics is the social science concerned with the production and consumption of goods and services and the analysis of the commercial activities of a society. Economic problem is to match resources to the unlimited wants and needs. For example: if you have $10 to spend, and you want to buy a book which costs $10 each and a pencil that costs $1 each. Now buying a book mean the loss of the benefit that would have been gained from the 10 pencils. b) Outline the steps needed to develop an economic model. Explain how models help in economic decision making. An Economic model is defined as a theoretical construct that represents economic processes through a set of variables and a set of logical or quantitative relationships between the two. The steps needed to develop an economic model are: 1. Identify the problem 2. Identify stakeholders in the problem 3. Identify alternate strategies to solve problem 4. Identify resources to implement chosen strategy 5. Implement 6. Evaluate what was accomplished 7. Modify or Disseminate problem Models help in decision making as they focus to gain a better understanding of how things work, to observe patterns, and to predict the results of stimuli. They help to simplify and abstract from observed data, and also serve as a means of selection of data based on a paradigm of econometric study. b) Construct a Production Possibility ... This includes climbing structures as well as shrubs to provide cover and the use of heat lamps. Despite these enrichments the Adelaide Zoo enclosure does not seem to meet behavioural needs. Stuart and Stuart (2016), state Servals are found throughout swamp and grasslands with areas that provide vegetation for coverage, however the Adelaide Zoo has provided a very dry environment for the Servals. As Servals are found throughout landscapes that contain a permanent water source the enclosure seems insufficient, until water and vegetation aspects are made available to meet behavioural needs. This was also proven when visiting the zoo as the Servals were displaying abnormal behavior such as pacing. Canniff (2011), state that Servals are solitary animals due to their territorial nature however the enclosure at the Adelaide Zoo has them housed with other Servals. As these Servals are raised in captivity and not in the wild, it is difficult to determine whether this species will benefit from being housed with others, therefore more research will need to be conducted to determine this effect. The Allied Forces alone lost almost 80,000 at the Battle of the Bulge. This casualty rate could have been much higher if Hitler would ve grasped the importance and value of supply and logistical support. Setting the Stage (The Battle) Arguably the most infamous battle during World War II, the Battle of the Bulge took place in the heavily wooded area of the Ardennes Forest region. The overall goal of this massive German counteroffensive was to break through the Western Front which consisted of both US and British forces. The primary objective behind Hitler s plan was too simply take back the initiative the Germans lost on beach of Normandy France. A few months prior to the Battle of the Bulge, Hitler had barely survived an assassination attempt. On 20 July 1944, one of Hitler s most trusted officers placed a bomb in a brief case and which he left underneath the table during a meeting (Gavin, J. (2003). The bomb unfortunately did not kill Hitler but it did represent the fact that, within Hitler s inner circle, there were disenfranchised high ranking German officers who wanted Hitler dead. 45 days before the Battle of the Bulge, Hitler was almost assassinated by one of his most trusted German Officers, an event which Allied Forces remained unaware of for a long time. Hitler s plan focused on the use of his most elite Panzer units with more than 1,500 tanks, 2,000 artillery guns, and an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 infantry soldiers (Gavin, J. (2003). The first cause argument is also known as the cosmological argument. The universe could not have come into being without something that started it. Therefore, this argument does show that God exists. This essay will analyse the first cause argument, provide proof of why God is shown that he exists by the first cause argument and, explore the objections and counter objections that people have when it comes to this argument. The first cause argument shows the existence of God through the statement that the universe must have a cause and as result, it is impossible for there to be an infinite cycle of causes so therefore, God exists because he is the first cause. The strength of this argument is that it indicates the need for something in order for there to be a beginning, but why conclude that this Something is God? I conclude that this ... If a city is near bankrupt then it cannot provide all of the necessary items that a city needs in order to run like it is supposed to.
