Information Architecture in Real Life - Part IAre Halland
The document provides an overview of information architecture (IA) and the user experience (UX) design process. It discusses why IA is important given the information explosion and increasing user demands. The core aspects that make up a good user experience are outlined. The IA process is then described including developing the strategy, scope, structure, skeleton and surface. Examples of card sorting and wireframes are also provided.

Core and Paths: Designing Findability from the Inside and OutAre Halland
This document introduces a new framework called Core+Paths for information architecture design. It describes seven "deadly sins" of poor IA, such as abstraction and information overload. The framework focuses on prioritizing essential content and functionality as the "Core", then providing inward paths like search and outward paths like calls to action to guide users to and from the Core. Examples are given of how a municipality website could apply this framework with services as the Core and various inward and outward paths.
Core+Paths: A Design Framework for Findability, Prioritization and ValueAre Halland
1) The document introduces a new framework called Core+Paths for information architecture design that focuses on findability, prioritization, and value.
2) It outlines seven "deadly sins" of information architecture including abstraction, introversion, isolation, information overload, navigation overload, futility, and logophobia.
3) The Core+Paths framework centers around designing an optimal "Core" unit of content and then supporting it with "Inward Paths" to the Core and "Outward Paths" from the Core such as calls to action.
The presentation discusses the Core Model approach to website design. The Core Model focuses on identifying the key tasks users want to complete and aligning content and navigation to support those tasks. It involves:
1) Identifying the core pages/units of information that fulfill important user tasks and business goals.
2) Mapping "inward paths" like search and external links that bring users to the core pages.
3) Adding "forward paths" from the core pages to related content to support business goals.
4) Gradually redesigning content based on core pages rather than large redesigns.
The approach aims to prioritize the most important content and user needs rather than adding more low-
