2. Symbolism In Persepolis
The episodes in the Persepolis of the growing up a boy and a girl in the Iran is the wearing of the veil.
The veil was a greatest different between the boy and the girls. They only make it mandatory that all
the girls should wear the veil especially in the school, but the boys on the other hand there is no rules
for the boys to wear the same veil. The girls were not happy about the veil, they said that the they have
been separated them from their friends due to the veil. The have complained that they are felling hot
with the veil. They started to remove it. they say that they are in the monsters of darkness. The color
of the veil was the dark, which I think they are wear ling in bondage. It makes them not to belong or

3. Stephen Foster Research Paper
Stephen Foster was a musician and songwriter during the 1800s. He wrote over 200 songs during his
lifetime with tunes that are still very popular today. He didn t earn a very large sum of money for his
music in his life, but he would be worth millions today if he was still alive ( Stephen Foster Biography
). Stephen Foster earned the title of The Father of American Music . Stephen Foster became known as
The Father of American Music because he was a child prodigy, he used his music to humanize the
slaves, and he wrote songs that were extremely popular in his life and continue to be popular 150
years later. Music was an important part of Stephen Foster s childhood. The parents of Stephen Foster
believed that music was not an appropriate activity for a young boy so he mainly taught himself about
music. He would spend time studying the work of famous musicians such as Bach and Mozart. He
learned how to play various musical instruments when he was very young (Krull 45). This early
interest in music gave Stephen Foster an early love for the art of music and the aspiration of becoming
a musician. Stephen Foster was a child prodigy and began to write and play songs at a very early age.
It was said that Foster couldn t sit down at the piano without playing a brand new song (Krull 45).
When Foster was a teen him and his friends created a group called the Knights of the Square Table.
One of the most important activities of this group was singing. Some of Foster s earliest songs

5. King Lear Feminist Analysis
When interpreted from a feministic perspective, it is apparent that the story of King Lear and The
Winter s Tale contains misogynistic implications. While the three sisters in King Lear were fallen
victims to the misogynistic societal needs, Hermoine in The Winter s Tale also suffered from
temptress accusations. The ingratitude that the women endured from male authorities who viewed
women stereotypically, claims how both plays challenged gender roles and suggested that women
were wicked, sexually deviant, and the cause of all issues. Moreover, women who lived during the
Shakespearean period like the female protagonist in these plays, lived in misogynistic society s due to
the lack of equality that was implemented during this time period. In the Shakespearean play, King
Lear, the feministic attributes were tested when Lear asked his three daughters, which of you shall we
say doth with merit challenge (1.1.49 51) which legitimized a man s authority over women by using a
women s emotions to boost a man s ego. If Lear had three sons rather than three daughters, receiving
affection to get the largest bounty (1.1.50) would not have occurred but because women were
portrayed as emotional, Lear quantifying the love that each daughter had for him was appropriate.
This demonstrates the first misogynistic approach towards women in King Lear. When each daughter
displayed their affection towards their father, Lear s most faithful daughter, Cordelia elaborated that

6. Compare And Contrast The Canterbury Tales And The Cook s Tale
The Canterbury Tales has many tales that have great meaning that is told in their own special way,
depending on the reader s understanding of the tales. I chose to compare and contrast The Prioress s
Tale and The Cook s Tale. What makes these two tales the same, but different in their own way? Of
course, the common answer would be the tales are written by the same author, but they are told by
different people. These stories have in common that the main characters do what they love, and the
theme is to stay true to yourself. The main differences between the two tales are that the characters are
from different generations, they are different kinds of genre, and the role of wrongdoing. With the
tales being told the way the author wrote it, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Prioress s Tale, the story was told of young boy, who was taught the value of life and to always
be thankful for the Christ s sweet mother. The story genre had religion and horror due to how the story
was told. Like for the religion genre, the story was told in a place of Christian people walk, ride, and
went to school in a Jewish quarters, due to country leader hate toward Christ and His followers. The
horror genre of the story, the boy was murder, for singing in the streets, and left for dead.
The Jewish hired a murderer who took up a secret place in an alley, and as the child went by, this
cursed Jew seized and held him tight, and then cut his throat and cast him into a pit. 573 (Chaucer,
Geoffrey)
In the Cook s Tale, the story was told of young man, who had a job, but enjoy the city life more. The
story genre was a juvenile humor, of how the man would have a good time in the city life, but went to
great length to keep enjoy his jolly life. For example, he stole from his master to have the money to

7. What Is The Cheerios Effect
Have you ever noticed how Cheerios (and other light breakfast cereal) seem to aggregate, forming
clumps while floating on the milk in your breakfast bowl? What is it that makes these cereal pieces
such good friends? Some described it as sugaring. Soaking in milk causes the sugars and starches that
coat the cereal to become sticky. Physicists have given it a name: the Cheerios effect .
In fluid mechanics, the Cheerios effect is the phenomenon that occurs when floating objects that don t
normally float attract one another.
At the root of the Cheerio Effect are basic physics concepts such as buoyancy, surface tension, gravity,
and the meniscus effect.
Buoyancy or density of an object compared to the liquid or air surrounding it, determines whether an
object submerged in water or surrounded by air will sink, float, or stay put. Buoyancy is what keeps
objects afloat. If an object is less dense than the liquid or air surrounding it, the object floats.
Likewise, if the object is denser, it sinks. When an object floats on water, the water will not remain
horizontal, but will instead form a bump or dimple, depending on the object s weight. The change is
more noticeable when two identical objects float close together as two ... Show more content on

At the interface which is between liquid and air, water molecules at the surface experience a strong
inward pull from water molecules beneath them but only a weak outward pull from the air molecules
above. This results in the surface of the water caving in slightly. Due to the surface tension between
the milk and the air, the air milk interface does not like to be deformed (just like an elastic sheet resists
deformation) but at the same time, gravity is pulling on the individual Cheerios. At some deformation
of the interface, the two effects cancel resulting in a deformed interface while the single object

8. Food in Hamlet by William Shakespeare Essays
Food in Hamlet by William Shakespeare
Unlike some of Shakespeare s other plays Hamlet doesn t seem to contain as many references to food.
When researching food in reference to The Merry Wives of Windsor, it was easy to see much of the
symbolism behind the many references. One of the most interesting references to food in Hamlet we
discussed in class. I found it really interesting how Shakespeare used posset as a way to describe
poison clotting in the ear. Unfortunately though, references like this are few and far between in
Hamlet. One scene that I found fascinating was in act four, scene five. This is the scene where,
apparently mad, Ophelia begins to distribute various flowers. These flowers, ... Show more content on

The next herb that Ophelia distributes is fennel. While she doesn t say what this is for, in the version
of Hamlet edited by Mowat and Westine, a side note adds that, fennel symbolized flattery and deceit
(216). I believe she distributed the fennel to Claudius. Ophelia has now been deceived by Hamlet,
abandoned by her father s death, and left with controlling Laertes. Needless to say, Ophelia is
probably really wary of males at this point in her life. The flattery that the fennel stands for would
make it an appropriate gift to a King and it can mask the fact that it also represents deceit. I think
Ophelia knew that Claudius was up to no good, especially with his speedy marriage and ill treatment
of Hamlet. The deceit could also stand for Claudius using Ophelia to deceive Hamlet in order to
discern his true mental state. After examining all this information it seems only fitting that Ophelia
would distribute the fennel to the King.
Ophelia continues distributing her herbs, however this time she saves some for herself, There s rue for
you, and here is some for me; we/ may call it herb of grace o Sundays (217). While it is unclear
exactly what this herb is, Ophelia is sure the meaning is not lost. By representing rue I feel that not
only did Ophelia keep this herb for herself, I believe she also gave

Dear Editor, Your article pertaining to the crimes against the older population was thorough and well
delivered. The elderly population is indeed becoming victimized on a larger scale than has been seen
in the past. This increase is a result of the growing number of seniors living in society with little
protection. Perhaps the most compelling part of your article was that of your question Who is
responsible for protecting these individuals? You pose quite a thought and emotion invoking question
and one which I could not help but share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a family member is suspected of being the perpetrator of abuse, neglect, or exploitation they should
in fact not be involved in the seniors life but otherwise there should be a common sense rule that we
look out for our family members. Too often seniors refuse to report abuse, neglect, or crime against
them out of fear of losing independence. It is a common misconception that being victimized will
deem you unfit to live independently and will result in being placed in a facility of some sort. It is
important that seniors feel they can turn to those around them with concerns and incidents that occur.
In the event that a senior is not forthcoming with information there are a number of avenues that may
involve reporting of suspected incidents. Hospitals, doctors, community service organizations, and
long term care facilities can report suspected crimes to authorities or Department of Social Services in
an effort to protect the individual. If a senior cannot properly protect themselves then health care
professionals from all areas should have the ability to act on behalf of the individual to seek help but
not dictate the overall outcome as a result. For example: simply finding that a person has been a victim
of exploitation should not mean that a person be moved immediately into a facility forfeiting their
right to care for themselves. All facilities acting to protect a senior should aim to preserve senior

10. The Causes And Effects Of Animal Abuse In The World
We are living in the world that everybody tries to have a better life. We try to have the comfortable
and convenient life for us. We are watching the circus and using them as the therapy to release stress
and depress. However, we don t know the fact that in order to make the circus become more complete,
they have to take away many animal s freedom. All those things is an example of animal abuse.
Animal abuse is the term that describes all the harmful acts toward animals which are harmed by
people either by intentional or unintentional. Other than our general understanding of animal abuse,
we will go through types of animal abuse, why human should care about it, and what should we do.
When people think of animal abuse, they often think of the video they saw where somebody harms a
dog, cat... In fact, animal abuse comes in many forms. Animal abuse includes eating the animal, circus
animal, producing cosmetic from inside the animal. We eat meat, that s the fact. However, the more
the technology grows, the more we seem to kill the animal in such a violent ways that people always
say: If you let all the kids go to the slaughter house, we will have a whole vegetarian generation. ( Wu
Ji Yiang). Circus or aquariums are also another form of animal abuse. We go there and see all types of
animals doing tricks, we have fun; but to train the animals to do that, they d have to go through a stage
where they are left starving. Trainers use whips, muzzles, tight collars, electric prods,

smoothly designed with parallel and diagonal motions as well as polyphony.
Anamneses , whose title means recollections from the past, slightly crosses world music frontiers. The

collective lines in unison. Elegant ebbs and flows arrive through flutist Anna Webber s agile stretches,
smoothly placed on top of idle fingerpicked guitar chords. Then we have the beseeching lines of Russ

breathable bass lines. Concluding the journey, Bradfield skillfully tours a delicate harmonic texture

12. Arguments In 12 Angry Men
The Arguments of 12 Angry Men In the film 12 Angry Men (1957), directed by Sidney Lumet, is a
film about a group of 12 jurors on a murder case. As the beginning of the film begins, the men are
seen entering the deliberation room to come to a consensus on the case that was assigned. In the case,
a young juvenile is being tried for the murder of his own father. If he is found guilty, the boy will be
sent to the chair and will die by execution. If he is found not guilty then he will live. As the 12 jurors
all sit down to make a beginning vote (aiming to create a unanimous consensus), only one of the men

believed that there were a lot of holes in the case that would lead him to believe there is reasonable

points that were made to undermine the original argument. Jumping from one fact to the next, juror #8
eventually persuaded the entire group to change their vote to not guilty. Juror #8, when presenting the
various portions of his argument, always remains calm, as well as the other men who eventually join
his side. Juror #4, though on the original position, actually provides a lot of this logical approach. He
admits that the opposition makes sense and when the argument overrides his, he admits he is wrong
and changes his vote. This type of argument, when proven with ethos and pathos, is successful and
will gain logical support to win the overall

13. Pleasant Ambient Odor
Effect of Pleasant Ambient Odor on Semantic Memory
Memory is a topic that has fascinated scientists throughout time. How it works, how it is influenced,
and how it can be improved are just a few of the many questions that have captured the attention of
researchers around the world. One notable area that has gained attention in the last few decades is the
Proust phenomenon, which is how odors can be especially powerful reminders of autobiographical
experience (Chu Downes, 2000). This proposal will be structured to explore if this phenomenon
extends from autobiographical memory to semantic memory.
The Proust phenomenon has been explored and supported by several researchers. For instance, Chu
and Downes (2002) found that odors are indeed especially potent as retrieval cues, to the extent that
they automatically induce the retrieval of unrelated and irrelevant detail in the incongruent odor
condition (p. 6). Additionally, Herz and Schooler (2002) and Castellanos, Hudson, Haviland Jones,
and Wilson (2010) concluded after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In one study, Smith, Nielson, Woodard, Seidenberg, and Verber (2011) found significant evidence that
physical activity improved semantic memory in participants with amnestic mild cognitive impairment

and episodic memory, it did not affect semantic memory (St Laurent, Abdi, Burianová, Grady, 2011).
The most notable study, which researched the link between semantic memory and sensory modalities,
found evidence supporting that the organization of semantic memory corresponds to types of
information associated with sensory modalities (Marques, 2006). However, this study only focused on
this association in the conceptual sense, not the actual sensory input; for instance, one question,
structured like the others, asked if a dog can bark, bark being the sensory modality (Marques,

India thinks that Kashmir is not the issue for an international concern and India does not consider UN

because India has fought three times with Pakistan regarding Kashmir s issue. On the contrary,
resolution does not come through military action. According to India, if India is ready to establish
Kashmir as a democratic province with all the privileges of an autonomous, there is no guarantee to
Kashmir will be under the Indian union. Because there are lots of terrorist groups are fighting against
India. Pakistan is supporting them by providing materials as well as financial backing (Schofield, V.
2000).
The war between Pakistan and India in 1965 and 1999 see also (Bose, S. 2009) has shown that India
and Pakistan are increasing their military power and facing the challenges. On the other hand, China is
behind the Pakistan. So India is worrying if USA and China extend their support to Pakistan and
Pakistan prepares to attack Kashmir. Indian central politics are also responsible for improving
Kashmir case. Sonia Gandhi (leader of Indian Congress) is a liberal and her party wants a dialogue
with Kashmir and Pakistan both. But recent Prime Minister Narendra Modi (BJP) doesn t want to

Anastrozole (Arimidex) is the aromatase inhibitor of choice. The drug is appropriately used when
using substantial amounts of aromatizing steroids, or when one is prone to gynecomastia and using
moderate amounts of such steroids. Arimidex does not have the side effects of aminoglutethimide
(Cytadren) and can achieve a high degree of estrogen blockade, much moreso than Cytadren. It is
possible to reduce estrogen too much with Arimidex, and for this reason blood tests, or less preferably
salivary tests, should be taken after the first week of use to determine if the dosing is correct. As an
aromatase inhibitor, Arimidex s mechanism of action blocking conversion of aromatizable steroids to
estrogen is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti estrogens such as clomiphene (Clomid) or

in others. During a cycle, if using Arimidex, there is generally no need to use Clomid as well,

the colonial and the Mughal powers catered to.
Democracy was initiated in order to equate all citizens of this nation. We did this so that we had a
situation where each one had the equal opportunity to grow. When we have a democracy as large as
India, it is unthinkable to have corruption existing along its lines. The idea of democracy was to guide
us away from the sinking boat and lead us through the darkest nights. It was the idea of emancipation
that democracy brought within itself. But within the next couple of years, democracy was yet to bring
in any of its promised propositions. Instead the ugly face of the opposite of democracy became
popular yet again, that of patronage. We were back to square one; we had not yet evolved from our
dark past. We were still stuck in it. We were a corrupt nation that allowed for deep inequality. Poverty
and hunger continue to reel in the minds of our western counter parts when they imagined India. The
patronage policy was set forth with the rise of Indira Gandhi in the late 1960 s and early 1970 s. It was
a known fact that patronage would allow chief ministers to gain a position of power in the cabinet or
any other position at the centre. The shuffling and change of chief ministers in the state of
Maharashtra in the 1970 s and 80 s are a clear

21. Example Of A Teen Activist
Definition of an activist: a person who campaigns to bring about political or social change. Teen
activists are teenagers who decided to fight for what was right, and instead of waiting for someone to
take action, they did it themselves. Teen activists do work that takes up a lot of courage, time, and
money. Teen activists don t always come in the same path, some succeeding, others failing. Teens
become activists through different experiences: having a personal struggle, they are inspired by an
animal s struggle, or they read an article somebody struggling.
To start, many teens become activists from having a personal struggle. For example, one of the teens
that became an activist after having a personal struggle was Alex Libby. Alex Libby was getting
bullied constantly after he decided he had enough. According to Katie Couric from ABC News, Alex
was having a really hard time at school. Katie asked Alex how life was like everyday at school for
him. Alex said he was punched, shoved, and mocked almost every time somebody got the chance, but
he just thought to go along with it and not tell anyone. This shows that Alex had a personal struggle
for many years of his life. Another example of Alex struggling is in the documentary, Bully , where
Alex s mom asks, Does I make you feel good to be punched? To be shoved, stabbed, or mocked? Alex
replied wearily, No. I don t know. I don t feel anything anymore. This clearly demonstrates that Alex

06.05 Rate and Collision Theory: Assessment Instructions
Investigation of the Rate of a Reaction
Background:
The reaction you will be investigating is the reaction that occurs when an Alka Seltzer tablet is placed
into a given amount of water. Alka Seltzer is an over the counter antacid and pain relief medication
that is dissolved in water before it is ingested. Each tablet contains aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), citric
acid, and sodium bicarbonate. As the tablet dissolves in water, the bicarbonate ions in the tablet react
with the hydrogen ions from the acids that are also contained in the tablet. The carbon dioxide gas
produced by the reaction is what causes the bubbling that can be observed.

Be sure to write a detailed procedure for each lab design so that the same procedure can be followed
accurately by anyone who reads it. Include details on the setup, the control of variables, and how the
rate of each trial will be compared.
For each of your two reactions, most of the reactants and products can be difficult to see, and
concentration can be difficult to measure without the proper laboratory equipment. Therefore, it is
recommended that the volume of carbon dioxide gas produced over a given amount of time be used to
help qualitatively compare the reaction rates of each trial. If you have another way you would like to
compare rates of this reaction, feel free to explain it thoroughly in your written lab procedure.
Be sure your instructions include multiple trials for each factor to help ensure that the results of your
investigation are more reliable.
Discussion and Conclusion:
Answer the following questions in complete sentences.
1.What two factors did you investigate in your procedure, and why did you choose to compare these
two factors?
2.What other factors did you need to control during your investigation? Explain how you controlled
each one in your procedure.
3.What was your prediction about the results of each factor tested in your two lab procedures? Explain
your predictions based on your knowledge of the dissolving process, collision theory, and reaction
rates.

In many emerging markets, a number of studies have also emerged which examine whether the
initiatives of corporate governance have led to an improvement in the quality of financial reporting
and whether these initiatives have been effective in tackling the problem of earnings management.
Shen and Chih (2007), for example, find in nine Asian countries that firms with good corporate
governance tend to conduct less earnings management. Also, In India, Sarkar et al. (2008) show that
diligent boards are associated with lowers earnings manipulation. Additionally, in Jordan, Al khabash
and Althuneibat (2009) provide evidence that the existence of internal governance structure has a
significant influence on the practice of illegitimate earnings management. In support, Kamel and
Elbanna (2010) find a consensus among their respondents regarding the importance of combating
earnings management in Egypt through greater reliance on internal corporate governance mechanisms.
In particular, this paper examines the roles board, audit committee, board size, and number of board
meeting to reduce earnings management practices in Bangladesh. In a September 1998 speech to

25. The, Pastel Blues, By Nina Simone
Nina Simone s 8th studio album, Pastel Blues, is an album featuring a fusion of sistering genres:
blues, jazz, soul, folk, and gospel. Nina, being the brilliant arranger she was, is known for her ability
to blend these genres into her signature sound. A sound most struggle to classify due to its avant garde
nature. She got her start in music by playing the piano in church. One evening her church had a recital
where her talents were recognised. Which lead to her starting piano lessons. Nina and her teacher s
goal was for her to become the first black classical pianist. However after being rejected from school
for being black, her dream died and she had to pick up jobs at clubs playing piano and later singing.
From there she never stopped singing. As her fame grew in pop music she became more depressed.
Later in her life she discovered she was riddled with mental illness. Manic depression being one of
these illness.
Nina Simone was a troubled woman but she was a gifted one. Simone was often looked at as difficult
while others would say she was just extremely honest. She was a very controversial character in
history along being a strong political figure. She was one of the well known civil rights activist along
Lorraine Hansberry, Dr. King, and Malcolm X. She made it known that she was not non violent. When
she met Dr. King for the first time, she walked up to him and said I m not non violent! He replied,

Nursing as care always includes relationship between two or more persons and needs to be inspected
from the point of view of equality (Kangasniemi, 2010). Nurses always deal with Physicians, clients,
and other nurses. By maintaining equality in the working environment, I believe that there will be
lower chance of conflict between nurses, physicians and clients. Equality also helps a nurse to
maintain a good professional relationship with his/her clients and colleagues. In my opinion, it is
important that nurses should have the knowledge of equality so that they can treat all the patients with
the same caliber of care. I believe that if nurses have the knowledge of equality, no patient will suffer
because of age, sex, ethnicity, and gender. The symbol chosen for equality in the coat of arms is a
justice scale. It represents equality because the scales on both sides are equal. The scale is placed at
the center of the heart because it is one of the central qualities of nursing. The scale is drawn inside the
heart because equality directly touches human s feelings. If an unbalanced or unequal quality of care is
provided for two clients, the one who is receiving less care will feel uncomfortable and discriminated.

At the conclusion of a sprint work is often left uncompleted, most commonly due to these inaccurate
estimations. Estimation Areas of Opportunity AA Consulting observed behaviors during team
meetings and estimation sessions and identified three tangible areas of opportunity for Company X.
Allocating focus to these three areas will ameliorate the struggles faced during the estimation process.
Equate Story Points to Effort The first opportunity is to be cognizant that story points are intended to
be a measure of effort and complexity. While it may be natural to equate one story point to one hour,
doing so can be cause for unreliable estimations. Company X should size stories relative to the
complexity of work. For instance, while it may take a senior developer a shorter time duration to
complete a story than a junior developer, the complexity of the story will not change. As a result, team
members of various backgrounds and skill levels can agree (Cohn, 2015) on the story points necessary
for a feature. Stopping the incorrect behavior of equating story points to duration will yield accurate
estimates regardless of which team member completes the work. Include the Entire Team The second
area of opportunity for Company X is to include the entire team when reaching a consensus on
estimation. To accurately reflect complexity for all team members it is important they are present and
engaged. While we acknowledge

30. How Is Heathcliff A Unsympathetic Character
In Wuthering Heights, Brontë presents Linton Heathcliff as arguably one of the most unlikeable,
unsympathetic characters of the novel: he is often described as peevish , is constantly unwell ( faint
hearted creature ) and resorts to fits of coughing when he doesn t get his way. He plays a key role in
Heathcliff s revenge plot marrying Cathy to award Heathcliff control of both Thrushcross Grange and
the Heights (although this eventually fails) and reveals its futility in the mean time.
The second generation of the novel offers many parallels, albeit less wild and powerful ones, with the
first generation: the second Cathy is a milder, gentler version of her mother and Hareton has a definite
likeness to Heathcliff (their degradation, appearance etc. however their difference lies in Hareton s
pivotal capacity for forgiveness); Linton, however, is presented as an even more insufferable, pathetic
version of Edgar Linton: he might have been taken for [Edgar s] younger brother, so strong was the
resemblance . This similarity with both Edgar and Isabella (his enemies), coupled with his name the

31. Plato In The Republic And Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince
Plato and Machiavelli seek to examine necessary qualities leaders should possess to rule successfully.
Plato s examination of leaders can be considered deontologist (wherein morality determines decision
making) and idealistic whereas Machiavelli s examination is consequentialist (weighing potential
consequences determines decision making) and realistic. Using primary evidence from Plato s The
Republic and Niccolò Machiavelli s The Prince as well as an examination of controversial leaders like
Donald Trump, I will argue that Machiavelli s ruler traits to a state are superior to Plato s since they
are more realistic of human nature of political actors.
PLATO S LIVED WORLD: SETTING CONTEXT Plato lived in Ancient Athens through the
Peloponnesian War and a tyrannical government. After The Thirty Tyrants, Athens established a quasi
direct democratic government and invoked a lottery system to distribute power amongst the citizenry.
For Wallach, Plato s polis was was not a world inflected by [...], totalitarian regimes, [...] political
orders whose populations top one billion human beings, vast inequalities of wealth, [or] nuclear tipped
drones. Ancient Athens was a polis of trade, tourism and culture but it did not have the
frequency/severity of modern foreign policy issues that affected its decisions. This is crucial to Plato s
views on leadership and it justifies the temporal limitations of his theory.

Golighty (the main character portrayed by Audrey Hepburn) in broken English (that was produced due

element of the film; however, if we take a closer look, it is evident that racial stereotypes are
embedded within the physical and behavioral aspects of the character as well as the environment. In
the aforementioned scene, Mr. Yunioshi s apartment is exceedingly stereotyped, because his mattress

apartment, such as the lanterns and various plants, are used to overly emphasize that he is Japanese.
Of course, his physical features effect his behavior because of his poor sight and slurred speech, he s

racially charged humor in this era, but it s movies like these that utilize comedy as a form of justifying
the use of whitewashing and racial stereotyping; therefore, making it difficult to overcome
stereotypes. Scarface is another classic film in which,

My grandparents were both born and raised in Cidra, Puerto Rico and so were their three children.
They wanted to start a new beginning. Though the exact date is forgotten my grandparents moved to
Cleveland, Ohio sometime in 1989. My grandparents were very poor when they lived in Puerto Rico
since there were not many job opportunities and barely any resources, my grandparents could barely
make ends meet. They wanted to give their children to have more opportunities and resources that they
didn t have when they were younger, so they decided to leave their home in Cidra. They choose to
move to Cleveland because they already had some family down here such as brothers, sisters, and
even cousins. When my grandparents got to Cleveland they already knew they made the right decision
for their family, Cleveland gave them a more stable life then what they had in Puerto Rico. There were
better educated schools in Cleveland for their children unlike in Puerto Rico, the food in Cleveland
was way more affordable, medicine as well, and it was easier to find jobs that paid well.
The first migration wave for Puerto Ricans came in 1917 when almost 2,000 people went to New
York. Another wave of Puerto Ricans traveled to New York in the 1940s. Similar to my family, the
Puerto Ricans went to New York to have fresh starts and to find new opportunities to better
themselves. They were also looking for jobs since there was a very high unemployment rate in Puerto
Rico that still somewhat exists today.

It is no secret that, in today s society, everyone and everything is controlled electronically. It is also no

age of only 3 years old. Technology intrudes every single aspect of our lives day in and day out. We
are constantly surrounded by it; phones, computers, the internet, television, have all been factors
contributing to make our lives a bit more convenient. Is that really the case though? When it comes to
children and young adults, can technology actually be harmful in ways that are not obvious to a parent
or an adult? People constantly ask, if it is even a possibility to be addicted to technology and social
media? The answer is yes. In today s world, there are dozens and dozens of people that are addicted
and obsessed with technology, the internet and/or social media. The dependency of an addiction is
usually explained as using something too much, or more often than you intend to, craving a certain

Shakespeare can be interpreted in many different ways. Justin Krezel has chosen a very modern

budget constraints. After developing a good resource requirements list, project managers and their
software development teams must develop several estimates of the costs for these resources. There are
several different tools and techniques available for accomplishing good cost estimation. Software
development project managers should prepare several types of cost estimates for most projects. Three

A large percentage of the total software development project costs are often labor costs. Many
organizations estimate the number of people or hours they need by department or skill over the life
cycle of a software development project. Developing a good cost estimate is difficult. There are
several tools and techniques available to assist in creating them. Four of the commonly used tools and
techniques are analogous cost estimating, bottom up estimating, parametric modeling, and using
computerized tools. Analogous estimates are sometimes referred to as top down estimates. Analogous
estimates use the actual cost of a previous, similar software development project as the basis for
estimating the cost of the current software development project. This technique requires a fair amount
of expert judgment and is less costly than the other methods. However, this method is also less
accurate. Analogous estimates are most reliable when previous software development projects are
similar in fact, not just in appearance. Groups preparing cost estimates must have the necessary
expertise to determine whether certain parts of the software development project will be more or less
expensive than analogous projects. If the software development project to be estimated involves a new
programming language, or working with a new type of computer hardware or network, the analogous
estimate technique may result in too low of an estimate. Bottom up

is the reason that Bilbo is referred to as the burglar, as he puts the sign on the Hobbit s door himself.
Gandalf told the throng If I say he is a burglar, a burglar he is, or will be... (Tolkien 49). His intentions
for lying are more beneficial than Loki s reasons, though he is still manipulating the idea of Bilbo
being a burglar, convincing Thorin and Co. that Bilbo has experience with thieving. Before they take

doorstep your job, not speak of getting inside the door? His words show that he has some form of faith
in Gandalf s white lie about the hobbit being a thief, even though Bilbo had never stolen anything in
his life. Both Gandalf and Loki are gifted with magical abilities, and they rely their magic as well as
their wit to solve their problems. In the myth The Building of Asgard s Wall , the builder (or rock

41. Shin Splints Research Paper
What is the injury?
Shin splints is a term for pain in the front or inner part of the lower leg. Shin splints are common in
athletes. Shin splints are formed when constant stress is placed on the bones, muscles, and joints of the
lower leg. This muscle injury is a type of cumulative stress disorder.
What are the Causes and Risk Factors?
Shin splints are caused by stress that is repetitive on the shinbone and the connective tissues that
attach your muscles to the bone. Running down hill, old shoes, and exercising on hard or inclined
surfaces are all factors that can cause shin splints. Too much pressure on your shins can be bad, and
can be long term if not treated correctly.
What are symptoms and Signs? When shin splints occur, pain is felt in the shins. Tenderness and
soreness of the shins are also signs of shin splints. Swelling of the lower leg is possible. The pain may
occur while exercising, and stop when you quit, but the pain can continue and could form into a stress
reaction or stress fracture if not treated correctly. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first thing to do if you think you may have shin splints is to rest. Take some time off exercising.
Ice your shins 3 5 times a day. Over the counter pain relievers might help to ease the pain as well. If
rest, ice, or pain relievers do not work, then consulting a doctor may be necessary to see if the injury
has formed into something worse. A doctor may help ease the pain quicker if you are an athlete and

The Ancient Mayan civilization stands out from other ancient civilizations and is great because of its

exceptional architecture, medical discoveries, astronomy, and military tactics which were very
successful. In this essay I will explain what the Mayans have achieved to make themselves considered

By far one of the most fascinating achievements of the Mayans was there methods and development
of their beautiful architectural buildings and designs. Whether their temples, complexes, buildings,
homes, sidewalks or causeways (which were built by hand cut lime stone), and the first civilization to
construct sidewalks for pedestrians. A Maya city from the Classic Period usually consisted of a series
of platforms topped by masonry structures, ranging from great temple pyramids and palaces to
individual house mounds. These structures were in turn arranged around open plazas or courtyards.
Maya architecture is characterized by a sophisticated sense of decoration and art, expressed in
beautiful carvings and wall paintings, unlike any others. Throughout the Mayans 2000 year history,
their unique warfare tactics turned out to be very successful for their civilization. Unlike most other
civilizations, instead of a head to head close range battle, the Mayans built an army of spearmen and
arrow shooters to kill the enemy. Long range war tactic was there specialty and it worked. They killed
their enemy before their enemy could reach them, using the land and surroundings they built trenches

America has always been depicted as an amiable place to live in. Generally, foreigners would picture
America as the perfect place to raise a family and lead a joyous life. In their mind, the idea of the
perfect fifties family household still holds true. Nevertheless, this image was quickly shattered, as the
adverse and hostile environment that surrounded them proved to be more difficult than imagined. One
of the biggest mistakes that they failed to recognize was the atrocious, random, murder of innocent
civilians. These murders were frequently published on the front page of every major newspaper, which
led to the development of an insatiable interest in the demise of others. This is true in the nineteenth

Leopold is described as a highly skilled scholar, but is a social recluse due to his hormonal
abnormalities. Loeb, on the other hand, is handsome and societal. Nevertheless, he possesses a sinister
side, his love for the life of crime. The film revolves around four main characters, Brandon Shaw,
Phillip Morgan, Rupert Cadell, and the victim, David Kentley. Brandon and Phillip pertain to New
York s elite class and are intelligent, sophisticated men. Rupert, being a philosopher of sorts, instills
the idea of Friedrich Nietzsche s übermensch upon Brandon and Phillip. Thus, this drives them to kill
their former classmate, David. While Hitchcock explains the philosophical motive of the murder,
author Miriam Allen deFord in her work, Superman s Crime: Loeb and Leopold, depicts Leopold and
Loeb as criminal masterminds and illustrates their heinous act as well as specific details of their trial.
She rarely includes any details regarding the mindset of the two teenagers as well as the ethics behind
their murder. Whereas the true crime article, written by deFord, focuses more on the actions
committed by the perpetrators, the Hitchcock focuses on the psychological aspects of each character
and the philosophy behind the killing. As such, the film surpasses the article on almost every level.
Throughout Hitchcock s film, the philosophical idea of Übermensch is prevalent and openly discussed
by the characters. This controversial theory

48. Difference Between Heretic And Hypocrite
Heretic and Hypocrite
The Christian faith is complex. It is a religion that preaches love, but centered at many hate rallies and
speeches. Within the recent stretch of years especially, surrounding millennials and increase in crises,
Christianity has entirely developed into a new beast. Due to hypocrisy within the Catholic Church,
many are turned away by what it has become. The largest issues stem from the smallest of issues. A
community grows from one individual, and if the individual takes on a different personality due to its
environment, the community will become toxic.
Catholicism is no longer about serving God, but changing and taking on a different persona entirely.
Today, serving God seems to have fallen from priority, replaced by Gospel gossip and conforming.
Much of this creates fairly hostile environments that pressure individuals to change themselves to fit
the molds set before them. Members become very judgmental and tied in with the gossip of their faith.
College professor Olivia spoke of the community s aid to her in trying times, but recounts the many
changes she underwent, such as judging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The emerging concept of mobile edge clouds equips cellular network entities (such as basestations)
with servers, so that users can run cloud services with significantly lower latency
[2]. The introduction of femtocells allows users to buy their own cellular network devices based on
their needs, thereby reducing the operators expenditure and improving the network coverage [3]. All
these trends point to the same direction.
That is, in the future, there will be more businesses operating on a single networked platform, and the
interactions between them will become increasingly complex. The tradition that does not change
however is that, due to physical limitations, the amount of resources (such as communication
bandwidth, computational capability of servers, electricity, etc.) in the system remains limited.
Therefore, there is a growing need of studying how to efficiently allocate resources to different
business entities. x Q. Song is the corresponding author.
One fast and effective method of allocating resources at market value is using auctions. The classical
sealed price double auction1 is used in [4] and [5], where bids are made privately and truthfulness can
be ensured. References [6], [7], and [8] formulated the cloud resource pricing problem as a multi unit
combinational auction problem, which consider multiple types of computational resources for sale.

how she prioritized everything that she would need to do her job efficiently. Whitney s first priority
was getting a clear understanding of what her precise responsibilities were. I agree with this, because
it would be inefficient to start working and completely do it wrong. Mistakes happen in the workplace,
but if they can be avoided by simply asking questions and reflecting on that information then I would
prefer to do that. The second priority, which is similar to the first priority, for Whitney was to get up to

52. The Effects Of Parenting Styles On Children
As the social, emotional, and academic effects vary in children and adolescent, the choice of parenting
style should be an informed decision to ensure their individual needs are met. Some children raised in
dramatically different environments can later grow up to have very similar personalities. Conversely,
children who are raised in the same environment can grow up to have opposite personalities. Despite
these inconsistencies, researchers have found a direct correlation between parenting styles and the
effects these styles have on children. Research has identified four main parenting styles based on two
aspects of parenting behavior, control, and warmth. When these two aspects of parenting behavior
merge, four primary parenting styles occur, authoritative, authoritarian and permissive. Authoritarian
parenting provides strict parental control with little to no warmth. Authoritative parenting provides
intermediate control and warmth, and permissive parenting provides little parental control and
considerable warmth. Each of these parenting styles has a direct ... Show more content on
