Postmodernism Essay
1. Postmodernism Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of postmodernism can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a deep
understanding of complex theoretical concepts and their application in various fields.
Postmodernism is a multifaceted and often elusive phenomenon, spanning literature, art,
philosophy, architecture, and more. Crafting an insightful and cohesive essay on this subject
demands not only a solid grasp of postmodern theories but also the ability to critically analyze
and synthesize information from diverse sources.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the diverse perspectives within postmodern discourse.
Postmodernism rejects grand narratives and embraces a skepticism toward metanarratives,
making it challenging to present a unified interpretation. Moreover, the interdisciplinary nature of
postmodernism requires writers to navigate through a labyrinth of ideas, drawing connections
between seemingly unrelated disciplines.
Another challenge is addressing the paradoxes inherent in postmodern thought. Postmodernism
celebrates fragmentation, yet the essay itself demands cohesion. The writing process involves
negotiating this tension, balancing the need for structure with the very essence of a philosophy
that often resists overarching frameworks.
Additionally, the dynamic and evolving nature of postmodernism adds a layer of complexity. As
a cultural and intellectual movement, postmodernism constantly adapts and responds to societal
changes, making it essential for the essayist to stay abreast of contemporary developments in
various fields influenced by postmodern thought.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on postmodernism requires more than just academic prowess; it
demands an appreciation for ambiguity, a knack for interdisciplinary exploration, and a keen
awareness of the ever-shifting cultural landscape. However, for those seeking assistance, similar
essays and more can be ordered on platforms like HelpWriting.net, where expert writers can
provide valuable insights and support in navigating the intricate terrain of postmodern discourse.

2. Video Games And Violent Violence
One cannot avoid them; they are everywhere. On television, iPads, cell phones,
and even specially made devices for babies and children. Video games are
interwoven with our daily lives. For many, it is just an innocent way to relax or
enjoy themselves. For others, it has become an addiction in which they cannot
escape. Not all video games are violent, but what about those that are? Does society
have an obligation to monitor every type of video gamechildren and adults play
simply because they believe it may lead to acts of violence?
Psychologists, Sociologists, Anthropologist, Schools, and Law Enforcement not only
in the United States but across the world, have been seeking out a correlation
between violent video games and violence in youth. They are desperately trying to
find an answer for the increase in violent attacks in many venues such as malls,
churches, random shootings, and sadly on our school campuses. All leading to little
evidence, or evidence that may have become bias and needs to be excluded from the
study.
The jury is still out on this decision as some studies suggest there is no relationship
and other studies say there is. This researcher begins her investigation into this
research by examining the results of many different studies. Her reasoning behind
this is to discover if there is a real psychological connection between violence and
video games, or if it lays in the aggressiveness of the player himself.
According to one study done by Oxford University(
3. Markowitz Portfolio Optimization
Report Introduction Markowitz (1952, 1956) pioneered the development of a
quantitative method that takes the diversification benefits of portfolio allocation into
account. Modern portfolio theory is the result of his work on portfolio optimization.
Ideally, in a mean variance optimization model, the complete investment opportunity
set, i.e. all assets, should be considered simultaneously. However, in practice, most
investors distinguish between different asset classes within their portfolio allocation
frameworks. In our analysis, we view the process of asset allocation as a four step
exercise like Bodie, Kane and Marcus (2005). It consists of choosing the asset classes
under consideration, moving forward to establishing capital market... Show more

Would you please explain (using the set of results for 3.5% risk free rate)? This
entails an analysis of the economic conditions for different periods. The most
important insight we get is that in a diversified portfolio, the contribution to
portfolio risk of a particular security will depend on the covariance of that security
s return with those of other securities. If you see the correlation matrix for the 2
sub periods, we can see that the economic wide risk factors have imparted positive
correlations among the stock returns for Sub Period 2 (03 10). This was the time
of economic crisis (08 10) and since most of the risk was economic, the optimal
portfolio incorporates less risky assets. While the sub period 1 (95 03) went through
a healthy growth period, had mostly firm specific risk and lesser economic risk. c)
The CIO wants to propose investment limits on certain asset classes to the IPC for
consideration, but the CIO may not be aware of the likely impact on the performance
of the Fund. Since you have run some analysis above based on the proposed limits,
present your analysis and make a recommendation regarding investment limits for the
historical arithmetic average (target) return and the 6% p.a. target return. The
fundamental concept behind MPT is that the assets in an investment portfolio should
not be selected individually, each on their own merits. Rather, it is important to
consider how each asset changes

For the challenges we are facing be it technical or functional we find a NoSql data
base as a best fit. We found out that NoSql incorporates a wide mixed bag of
various database technologies and were produced in response to the rising data
needs. Also when in comparison to the RDBMS present in the market NoSql
provides an enriched performance and better scalability solutions. So in search of
the best fit as our solution we searched out various types of NoSql databasetypes and
found out about Document databases, Graph databases, Key value stores and other
similar types. Let s explore various market players in each of the type and find the

Power Production in Ontario, a report by Nolan Marriott, will be an outlook at the
decision making process used by the government of Ontario to make a well rounded
decision to do away with coal fired power plants as a source of power production.
The topics throughout this paper will discuss the root cause reasoning for the
initiation of closing the plants, then will discuss how the overall environmental affect
the environment. To conclude the effects of these causes will be reviewed looking at
the resultant job outlook.
This report will allow Ontarians to gain knowledge about this controversial situation
and better understand why the final decision was made, clarifying information that
may be found in the media. The pollution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article Thunder Bay Generating Station Stops Burning Coal, states that coal had
become 25% of the power capacity in Ontario, which is significant, as this area is
dominated by the vast capacity of nuclear power (CBC News, 2014). This value
makes it clear the impact coal power had on the overall production in Ontario, and
how much of a void this is to fill by other alternative sources. The purpose of this
report will be to evaluate Ontario s decision to eliminate coal fired power plants
through cause and effect analysis. To begin the pollution from exhaust gases are
assessed. This will be followed by the effect that burning this fuel source has as far
as extracting the material, and the by product that results from the burning. Finally
the loss of an industry will be addressed as it impacts a multitude of job areas
including power engineers, including those seeking employment upon graduation of
programs such as the Chemical Processing and Engineering Technology course
offered at Lambton College. The information borrowed for the production of this
report have been gathered from such sources as the Government of Canada, news
articles including the CBC, and other scholarly sources which will offer an unbiased
analysis.
Background
The idea of burning coal, is not a new one, nor is it recent that coal has been chosen
as a fuel source since the 1700 s in England as it burned hotter and cleaner than
anything else at the time, which caused it to find its way into steam

7. I Was A Little Nervous
Part One (329 words):
I was a little nervous about not only trying to perform the Stunning Spell, but also
having this spell cast upon me, due to the fact that it renders it s victim unconscious. I
also did not expect the effect to be instantaneous.
Once my partner was ready and stood surrounded by cushions, I raised my wand
and brought it back down in a quick slashing motion, Stupefy! . As a flash of blue
light left my wand towards my partner, she immediately fell backwards onto the
cushions. I found it quite difficult to focus on making the spell effective as I did not
want to cause her any permanent harm, however, I found that just thinking about her
becoming still was enough to get the spell to work this time, although I know that ...

Part Two (209 words):
Now we moved onto practicing the counters. Seeing as we had all tried the spells, we
decided it was only fair that we all practiced the counters as well.
First, one of my partners performed the Stunning Spell to our other partner and
allowed me to practice the counter. Once our partner was on the ground, I pointed
my wand straight at her chest and said Rennervate . As the bright red light shot from
my wand, I kept focusing on her waking up and sitting up. After a few seconds she
did just that, which I was thankful for as my focus was starting to waver a little.
When it came to the Full Body Bind Curse Counter, I volunteered to be the one that
needed it. I tried to fight the curse as it hit me, but there was no way to and I was
on the floor in seconds. Laying there I heard one of my partners say Petrificus
Removere and I could see his wand move in a clockwise motion before the golden
mist started to wrap itself around me. I could feel my muscles start to relax from my
toes upwards through my whole body until I was eventually able to move and sit up.

Cyber terrorism is just as its name implies; it is the utilization of the internet for the
purpose of causing terror. Today s cyberterrorist have several methods available for
achieving their goals. The first of these is a general term known as Hacking which
refers to anyone gaining access to a computer or a network of computers to which
they are not allowed. There are various forms by which a hacker can gain this
access. Hacking is comprised of five key methods utilized for the purpose of gaining
that access to a computeror computers whichever may be the case. A terrorist could
use hacking methods such as packet sniffing, Tempest, password cracking, or buffer

damaging aspect of computer viruses comes in the human contact which often
creates the greatest threat to a computer or computer network. Their spread through
email can be facilitated by the person who carelessly opens an email from an
unknown source because it has a catchy subject line. Then there is the person who
defies policy and brings in a flash drive from home and unknowingly infects an entire

9. Luther The Reformer Summary
Luther the Reformer: The Story of the Man and His Career by James M. Kittelson
is a biography of the famous German monk turned theologian and reformer, Martin
Luther. This is one of the most influential men in history, and as a matter of fact, In
most big libraries, books by and about Martin Luther occupy more shelf room than
those concerned with any other human being except Jesus of Nazareth (Kittelson 9).
This fame of Luther s isn t only postmortem, This extraordinary interest in an
extraordinary man reaches back almost half a millennium. Even in his own time
Luther was a media personality the first of such in three thousand years of human
history (Kittelson 9). Luther was a subject of great controversy in his own time, as
well as in our, and it has only driven his name and message into the spotlight. No
matter or what one aligns himself with, People still find themselves taking sides on
the question of Luther (Kittelson 9). It is for this reason that James M. Kittelson
wrote this survey. He tells us that The primary purpose of this book is to tell the story
of Martin Lutherto readers who are not specialists in the field of Luther studies
(Kittelson 10). This book is a general overview of all aspects of Luther, not just a
precise dissection of one aspect, which allows for as faithful a picture as possible of
the whole man (Kittelson 11). Luther The Reformer covers every aspect of the famed

10. Separation Of Power In The Australian Constitution
A constitution is a set of rules and regulations by which a country is operate. The
Australian Constitution is one of the most important documents for Australian
government. It was passed by the British Parliament as a part of the Commonwealth
of Australia Constitution Act 1900 and took effect on 1 January 1901
(Commonwealth of AustraliaConstitution Act 1910). It defines the structure, power,
and procedure and defines the rules and obligation of the states. The Commonwealth
Constitution provides a legal framework for the creation of the Commonwealth
parliament and outlines the structure of parliament. The Commonwealth of Australia
Constitution Act granted permission to six colonies: New South Wales, Victoria,
Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania to form their own
Commonwealth government in accordance with the constitution (Commonwealth of
Australia Constitution Act 1910).
The separation of power describes the way in which the law gives power to the
arms of government. The separation of the power certifies that the government
stays honest and equitable by creating checks and balances on the use of power.
The separation of power divides the tasks of the states into three branches:
legislative, executive and judicial (Seland, D 2016). The purpose of separation of
power is to balance and limit government power. The separation of power is a
fundamental principle of law that maintains all three organs of government separate.

11. The Aphasia Mash Up Project
This aphasia mash up project is intended to remediate lexical retrieval at the discourse
level in a variety of communication settings and communication partners relevant to
the patient s interests. People with Aphasia often have difficulty with word retrieval
which limits discourse capacity. This in turn negatively effects communication
interactions with others and increases isolation. Therefore, therapy is often centered
around improving wordretrieval that will facilitate communication with others.
Unfortunately, trained skills in therapy have demonstrated varying levels of
generalization. There are several treatment approaches that have demonstrated
efficacy for individuals with aphasiasuch as Semantic Feature Analysis. A limitation
with this method is that it focuses on nouns and has not shown limited generalization
to generalize to discourse and hashave not shown significant evidence for
maintenance (Kiran Bassetto 2008). Another approach used in therapy is the use of
verbs. Verbs are central to syntax, semanticsand event memory. Therefore, VNeST is
effective because it targets semantic networks based around verbs, which also targets
things such as nouns, syntax, and thematic roles. Verbs are expected to activate more
neural networks in comparison to targeting nouns alone. Furthermore, previous
studies have used VNeST and shown to be beneficial to patients with moderate fluent
and non fluent aphasia (Edmonds et al. 2009). The first article used investigated the
12. Coronary Artery Disease ( Chd )
Coronary artery disease (CHD). Coronary artery disease is characterized by
damaged or diseased coronary arteries, the major blood vessels that supply the heart
with oxygen. The major cause of CHD is atherosclerosis, the build up of fat deposits
(plaque) and other cellular waste products on the walls in arteries that cause further
inflammation and narrowing or complete blockage of major heartvessels. As a result,
the decreased blood flow cause chest pain and shortness of breath. In some cases, a
complete blockage occur and can lead to a heart attack (myocardial infarction).
Usually, CHD develops slowly and patient might have no symptoms until the
complete blockage of coronary arteries and heart attack occur. As happened in Mrs.
S case, she was unaware of extent of her coronary arteries damage. After having a
cholecystectomy, she developed cardiac complications and suffered an acute MI. Any
surgical procedure places and additional emotional and physical stress on the heart
and can cause cardiac complications.
On postoperative day #2, Mrs. S was presented with symptoms of MI in addition to
ECG test confirming the diagnosis. Also, cardiac cauterization was performed and
revealed 88% occlusion of left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD). According
to Santulli (2012), the major risk factors contributing to development of coronary
artery disease are: hypertension, smoking, high blood cholesterol level, diabetes,
obesity, physical inactivity, and high stress. Based on Mrs. S

14. All God s Children By Fox Butterfield Essay
All God s Children by Fox Butterfield is a stunning story about a teenage murderer,
Willie James Bosket, and the heritage of violence within his family. Through some
incredibly creative and thorough research, Butterfield traces Willie s family back to
the Deep South where they had been slaves and provides in depth portrayals of each
family member in order to give a comprehensive historical overview through each
generation. The pattern of violenceand its connection to the culture of the South
makes a very compelling case for the values of the antebellum South, as they
translate to a modern urban environment, where drugs and guns are readily
available, and hope is fleeting, as a root cause in our culture s creation of violent
sociopathic children like Willie Bosket. Author James Baldwin told an audience at
a benefit for the reform school attended by the Boskets: ``These are all our
children. We will profit by, or pay for, whatever they become. His words are quoted
at the beginning of the book and are particularly powerful since they were said at
the Wiltwyck School for Boys. The trafficking of slaves in South Carolina was
huge, which created a society based on bondage. The vast force needed to run such
a society was a major contributor to violence in the South. Slaves were treated
brutally, for example the standard number of lashes for a whipping was thirty nine,
which was based on an old biblical injunction, but some masters whipped their slaves
more severely or

Rotation of workers around the labour market between the status of employment and

development over the external market and the employees who would resign to go
into private business. The push factors have relationship with the dissatisfaction of
work situation, lack of democratic managerial pattern and job stress. On the other
hand, Griffieth (2000), viewed remuneration and remuneration related variables have
intense effect on turnover. Griffieth demonstrated a relationship between
remuneration, employee s performance and turnover and concluded that when an
employee performs extremely well expects a high pay and when they are paid low
they quit.
There are various costs associated with turnover, according to Society for Human
Resource Management, it costs 30 50%

CHAPTER 20. BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER: CHANGE AND LEADERSHIP
IN ACTION CHAPTER 20 OVERVIEW
Chapter 20 Summary ___________________________________________________
The chapter opens with a case Robert F. Kennedy High School depicting the many
problems facing David King, the new principal of a deeply troubled urban high school
. A school that opened with high hopes only a few years ago now finds itself mired in
conflict and dissatisfaction. King s first meeting with his new administrative staff
produces a blow up in which a male housemaster physically threatens the chair of the
English department. By the end of the case, the situation feels overwhelming. Is there
hope? The authors follow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chapter 20: Replay and Critique of David King s Reframing _______________
There is value in having students compare their own thinking about the RFK High
case with the reframing process depicted for David King in the chapter. One way to
do this is to ask students to read the case, stop there, and engage in their own effort
to reframe using the same questions David King used. (This can be done either
individually or in groups.) Once students have developed their own diagnoses, they
can read the remainder of the chapter and compare their thinking with David King s.
Another option appears in Exercise 20.1.
Chapter 20: Applying Reframing to Cases or Personal Experience_________
The chapter focuses on putting it all together: integrating everything learned about
organizations and leadership into more comprehensive and powerful understanding
and action. The reframing process illustrated in the chapter can be applied to almost
any case or experience: students personal cases, published cases, films or fiction, or
class experiences (role plays, experiential activities, team experiences, the course).
Instructors can, for example, have students study a challenging case (multiple
suggestions are offered elsewhere in this instructor s guide) and then, either
individually or in teams, reframe to develop both diagnoses and solutions.
Individuals or groups will differ in what they see and what

He retracted the statement a week later, insisting that the sale of weapons had not
been an arms for hostages deal. (3)
Not only did he knowingly commit these treasonous acts, he then went on to

the truth of the matter. This is similar to Nixon s involvement with the watergate
scandal (except Nixon didn t order the covert actions, only covered them up). Nixon
was in the process of impeachment and conviction when he resigned as president and
was later pardoned. Reagan is in a very similar situation to this, except he took the
extra step further and actually aided in the premeditation and execution of the
actions.(4)
The Treasonous Actions of Reagan
The actions that Reagan took are treasonous because he, The President of the United
States, knowingly approved and supported a foreign policy that A) Violated US law
B) Violated an arms embargo against an enemy of America C) assissted terrorists
that were taking US citizens as hostages. These are all acts that knowlingly gave aid
to enemies of the United States, and therefore are acts of

Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Utah, and Vermont

25. Social Classes In Daphne Du Maurier s Rebecca
The book Rebecca written by Daphne du Maurier, published in 1938, is known to
be a gothic novel, however, the differences between social classes is clearly
depicted throughout the novel. Rebecca was written in the point of view of a low
class, young girl in her mid twenties, whose name was never revealed. The narrator
started of as a companion of a rich American woman, Mrs. Van Hopper, and later
went on to marry the owner of Manderley, Maxim De Winter. Manderley was a
very popular mansion that was enjoyed by many of the high and middle class
citizens. The differences of social classes is clearly depicted by Daphne du Maurierin

During the Fancy Ball scene the superiority of the high class is seen like it has not
been seen. Before the ball, Lady Crowan made a very demeaning comment toward
the narrator when she suggested how the narrator should dress: You d look sweet,
Mrs. de Winter, dressed as a little Dresden shepherdess, your hair tucked under a big
three cornered hat. I thought of my clumsy hands and feet and the slope of my
shoulders (du Maurier Chapter 16). The narrator knew that Lady Crowan said this
to shame her and prove to her that she is not cut out to be part of the high class.
Even Mrs. Danvers, the narrator s maid that loved Rebecca, tries to show the
narrator that she should not be part of the high class: Why did you ever come
here? she said. Nobody wanted you at Manderley. We were all right until you
came. Why did you not stay where you were out in France? (du Maurier Ch. 18).
Mrs. Danvers is trying to convince the narrator that she is not wanted at Manderley
and should never had married Maxim. Moreover, Mrs. Danvers believes that the
narrator is trying to take Rebecca s place as Mrs. De Winter. The narrator is
continuously being reminded that she will never be accepted as part of the high

The Book of Esther, Purim and its Babylonian origins: Esther, a beautiful Jewish
woman, was chosen by a Babylonian King, Ahasuerus, and, with the help of her
uncle Mordechai, saved the Jewish people from a massacre ordered by the wicked
Hamman. This book, included in the Jewish and Christian Bible, is the occasion of
the feast of Purim. Yet this story has nothing to do with the Jewish people and
contains historical mistakes: The Persian history ignored a Jewish queen named
Esther. The Book of Esther said that the king send his order to exterminate the
Jewish peoples in 128 countries. Yet this decree was discovered nowhere during any
archaeological excavations. This explains why the book of Esther

Standing on the Leaning Tower of Pisa, two objects of different weights were
dropped, resulting in both landing at the same time. Galileo Galilei, a man who
strived to promote scientific advancement, debunked the Aristotelian theory after his
experiment, causing opposition among fellow colleagues and ending his career at the
University of Pisa (Helden). This was only the first instant where Galileo rejected
Aristotelian notions; it was not until his improvement of the telescope, did he begin
to challenge the Church. Prior to the Galileo Affair, Cardinal Robert Bellarmine had
set guidelines for how the Scripture was interpreted. While the progression to Galileo
Affair and the improvement of the telescope supported Copernican s theory, it caused

After hearing the Grand Duchess Christina object to the heliocentric system, Galileo
wrote and later published his Letter to Castelli. Galileo begins by addressing the
Grand Duchess first concern: he agrees that the Scripture cannot err, but the
interpreters of the Scripture can make mistakes. Galileo states that the Holy
Scriptures were created to be understood by the common person, but it is up to wise
expositors to unveil the true meaning of the words (196). Galileo explains that the
Scripture says many different meanings from the truth when evaluating the meanings
of words. In regards to the nature, Galileo states that it cannot violate established
laws, it cannot be doubted based off the Scripture, and that not everything in the
Scripture can be associated with effect in nature (197). Galileo refers to his previous
statement in which the Scripture accommodates to even the most uneducated people.
He attempts to point out that mathematics is needed to better interpret the Bible.
Galileo, as well as many others, agree that nobody should alter or change the meaning
of the passages in the Scripture. However, if something in the Bible was proven
wrong by the actual truth, Galileo believed it should be fixed; if untouched it would

a reader reading this book this is seen as a cause and effect situation . For example,
for every girl that is eliminated from the Selection must have done something to

29. How To Write A Rhetorical Analysis Of A Snowstorm
This painting is about a lower class family that is going through a snowstorm in the
middle of the winter to survive instead of just staying inside the warm house. This
painting is called the snowstorm and was painted by Francisco Goya to illustrate a
lighter but still hard time in life. This painting is about a family out in a snowstorm
and illustrates a lot about the character of the family with the hardships that they went
through, along with the desperation and willpower to survive.
While the family is out in the middle of the snowstorm they have many hardships
to deal with. The family is all grouped together in the middle of the painting with
their jackets wrapped around them and their heads facing down to keep warm
with snow in every direction of them as if they don t want to travel. This shows
that the family is cold and, yet they have to face the hardship of the winter. The tree
next to the family is severely swayed to the right the branch in front of the family
was broken off from the tree and laying on the ground showing how hard it was to
face the cold and wind of the storm. A dog is in front of the family at attention on all
four feet with the dog s paw prints trailing the dog showing that the family is
moving in the direction away from the prints. There is a dead pig draped across and
the back of a mule and tied down to it, along with a man on the left side has a gun in
between his arms tucked into his body as if he is the one who hunts the food for the
family.
30. Judith Beheading Holofernes Analysis
Conflict and Art: Renaissance to Modern Day The three works selected in this paper
are: Judith Beheading Holofernes, The Death of Lucretia, and Le Dejeuner Sur I
herbe. Each artwork comes from a different era; the three eras being Baroque,
Neoclassical, and Modernism.
Judith Beheading Holofernes is a painting by Artermisa Gentileschi during the
Baroque era of art in Italia. This painting is her visual of a scene told in The Book
of Judith. In the scene Judith has gained access to Holofernes s tent and he later
passes out from being intoxicated giving Judith the advantage to be able to
decapitate him in turn saving her home land (Buckley, Peter J., M.D. American
Journal of Psychiatry). This painting shows the conflict men bring on to the
countries without a thought on their actions. Judith took control of the situation by
getting rid of Holofernes but by her look. It shows how a man can easily be fooled by
a women s looks that he doesn t see the woman as any kind of threat towards him.

In Judith Beheading Holofernes Judith used her beauty to her advantage to get
access to Holofernes tent to be able to save her home town by taking him life.
While to Judith her body gave her an advantage Lucretia in The Death of Lucretia
had a disadvantage as Sextus could threaten her and rape her in her own house. It s
of course not Lucretia s fault for having good looks but it didn t help her when she
was in danger. She was put in harm s way for something she couldn t control and
that wasn t fair towards her in any way. In Le Dejeuner sur I herbe the view of a
women s body was for the men s please so the women were unclothed while they
sat in a wooded area together the men still clothed. The way a women s body is

31. When You Shoot A Deer Research Paper
After you shoot a deer and you know it s dead, it s really good to know how to gut it
and dress it. This paper will show you how to do all that stuff including what kind of
knives and skinners to use.
First off, you lay the deer on its back. You have to spread the legs apart and dislocate
the hip joints if you have to. Then, after you spread the legs apart, you take your knife
and start at the butt. You stick your knife in the butt and cut upwards. Do that until
you hit the breast bone. The breast bone is usually made up of cartilage and it has a
round knob towards the end underneath the neck. Then you take your knife or hatchet
and hit the pelvis bone to make the guts from catching on it and tearing them apart.
Once you have the belly cut ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Never waste any part of the deer. Get as much as you can from it. When you cut
the front legs, it s really easy because they are free floating. That means that there
are no joints or anything holding it together. So, cut those off and then cut the
inner loins out. Which is the inner muscle of the lower back in the deer. Those are
the most tender and sweetest part of the deer. The reason for that is because that s
what gives the deer the ability to jump high and all the blood rushes to that spot
when it s being used. Then you cut the back legs. Those are going to be a little
harder to cut off because they have joints attached to the hip. So you will need to
pop that out. Once you are done with both legs, cut off the back straps. That is also
another great part of the deer. You start about the front shoulder or higher and cut to
the rib bone. Cut as far as you can down the deer s back. Once that is all done, you
can cut the neck meat out and put it in a stew. But I wouldn t recommend it because
that s where all the estrous and testosterone build up and it doesn t taste very good.
Next is the rib meat. You can cut off the ribs and save whatever you can from it but
there isn t very much meat in that area. You can make whatever you want from all the
meat that you get from the legs, inner loins, backstraps, and neck

Black vs. White American Life Experience As Argument
Caree Schmidt
In John Hope Franklin s The Train From Hate, Franklin claims that no matter what
an oppressor inflicts upon the oppressed, the oppressed s worth is in no way
diminished, and indeed the abuse is reflected poorly back upon the oppressor. But it
is not too much to say that her observations provided a sound basis for my attitudes
and conduct from that day to this. At that early age, I had made an important journey.
In the future, I remembered that I should not waste my time or energy lamenting the
inability of some members of society to take me as I was. Instead, I would use my
energies to make me a better person and to distance myself from the perpetrators and
purveyors of hate and misunderstanding. (Franklin,1) Franklin noticed this when he
mentioned telling his mother that the conductor came off as mean and callous.
My main quibble with Franklin s mother s reassurance that institutional segregation
does not inherently lead to a white person having a superiority complex. It absolutely
does. I state that having studied it and being a white person, thereby granted white
privilege for nothing other than having been born with a certain skin color. The fact
that segregation was mandated by the government reinforced that cognitive
dissonance present in white people in that era (and still to this day, to an extent) that
led to the belief that white skin is superior to black, up to the point that black

34. Taking a Look at Digital Activism
Digital Activism Digital activism is the manifestation of informal communication and
media systems can have constructive results on the world giving strength and a voice
to people when required. Yet, at the same time be utilized as a part of conflicting
attitudes to rather fulfill individual needs of activists bringing on more mischief than
good. Digital activism incorporates numerous sorts of new media, for example, online
journals, Twitter, Facebook, and Youtube. These online networking sites have
assumed a real part in different questionable political scenes. These sorts of new
media have given important devices to activists looking to have a voice and to
support flexibility and majority rule in government. Each instance of digital activism
is its own particular story, and from nation to nation there are key elements that give
the vital setting to why some social developments triumph and others fail. Digital
activism has an exhibited, positive effect, particularly when the global community
gathers and uses digital mediums that concentrate on the objective of changing
government strategy. Digital activism, in general, is a peaceful undertaking. There
are just a few situations when digital mediums have been used to empower roughness
against their rivals but in general digital activism is centered on urban engagement,
not hurting individuals or property. Regardless of the dangers, Ai Weiwei
has provoked
others in China and abroad to take the charge through tweets,
35. Reflection On Career Development
A.This lesson mainly addressed aspects related to career development. This lesson
encourages students to discover their academic and personal strengths, their skillsets,
and their interests. Students then take those concepts and apply them to career
exploration. They are able to link their strengths, preferences, and abilities to potential
future careerpaths. Some of the specific aspects of career development that I
addressed include applying planning and career exploration in setting and
obtaining lifelong career goals, applying necessary skills for career readiness and
success, and teaching students where and how to obtain information about post
secondary options. In this lesson students are encouraged to apply decision
making skills to place different careers into the appropriate career fields. In doing
so, they are also encouraged to begin thinking about careers that are of interest to
them and what career goals they have for themselves. They will be given resources
in order to continue career exploration outside of the classroom. While I do not
expect sixth graders to fully decide their career path, it is my firm belief that it is
never too early to get students thinking about careers and having them set goals in
order to obtain the career and future that they desire. I also believe that this unit
touches on social and emotional development as well as academic development. This
lesson allows the student to collaborate with one another and work in groups as well
as in pairs. This promotes relationship building and teamwork. It also allows students
to take an inventory of their personal strengths and skillsets. This could boost self
esteem and promotes a sense of self awareness. Lastly, this unit also encompasses
academic development. Students will understand that good grades and academic
success are key elements to obtaining the career that they wish to have. By being
academically successful, this will allow them greater options and opportunity post
high school graduation.
B.In today s world, I feel as though it is very important to incorporate technology
into lesson plans. Technology helps keep children engaged and we are now living in
a world where technology is all around us. I was able to
36. Dominican Family Values
It s no doubt that culture and family values play a significant role in the self
discovery process. Often times, these social constructs can influence goals, beliefs
and values. Life as a Dominican is one that is built on strong family value, religion,
morality and work ethic. Growing up in a Dominican family, I can remember my
parents instilling strong moral values such as being honest and respecting one
another while emphasizing the need for hard work and education. Much of my
outlook on life can be attributed to the Dominican values of family, discipline and
values taught to me throughout my childhood and adolescence.
Family Structure
Family structure in the Dominican Republic is shaped very traditional in views and
gender roles. Typically, men are held in high reverence within the home while
women take on supporting roles. Men often hold the title of head of household while
women hold domestic roles such a taking care of the household and rearing children
(Howard, 1997; Vazquez, 2005). Children are often taught to respect their elders and
to be obedient. As parents, Dominicans tend to be very protective of their children
and typically demand strict compliance (Vazquez, 2005, p. 223). Even though the
expected roles of husband, wife and children follow common structures of the
traditional household, the typical family is far from nuclear. Household are typically
compound consisting of grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins (Vasquez,
2005, p. 217). Families are
37. The Earth And The Stars
Throughout the history of the human species people have looked up at the stars and
wondered. Each individual culture, past and present, has stories and myths
concerning the various features of the night sky and the constantly moving celestial
objects which reside there. There are creation stories which try to explain where the
Earthand the numerous stars came from. There are other stories whcih take on a less
grand task and only try to explain a single celestial object. Some believe that the stars
and the Earth are intertwined and the motions or strange appearances of objects
directly relate to what is happening on the Earth.
There are also beliefs that the stars and night sky are the Heavens viewable from
Earth, where everything must be perfect. If things were not perfect in the
Heavens, such as a new star appearing in the sky due to a supernova occurring light
years away, some cultures would take this as a bad omen. In ancient China for
example, the Emperor was responsible for what happened on Earth as well as what
happened in the Heavens, so if a new star appeared unannounced then a competing
group vying for control could use that change to try to alter the existing balance of
power. In other places such as medieval Europe even suggesting the Heavens were
not perfect could land someone under arrested from, at the time, all powerful Catholic
Church. Such was the case with Galileo after his public support of the idea that the
Earth moved around the Sun and not the other

39. Examples Of Religious Themes In The Hunchback Of Notre
Dame
In the modern era, most films are secular. They are not intended to present a
religious interpretation of life and we do not expect it from the film industry.
However, religion is a large part of the lives of most people, so it is realistic to
notice that religious references and ideas will be present in some films. William
Telford s religion and film model [1] makes it easier to depict if those underlying
religious themes are present. The movie most associated with religious themes
produced by Disney would have to be the Hunchback of Notre Dame . As stated by
Porter in the course notes [1], this film is a great fit for Telfords model. Claude
Frollo, is a deeply religious man who believes he is doing right by his religion by
taking in the seemingly unholy Quasimodo, after being judged by the Archdeacon.
He feels as though he is acting in a righteous manner when he adopts Quasimodo as
well as when he plans to commit genocide against all of the gypsies. As the plot
develops unlike Quasimodo, Frollo s belief in the church disappears, and this can
be seen in his determination to kill Esmeralda, believing if she is the source of his
lust and refuses to be with him romantically, she must die in a Hellfire . The
decisions of the main characters focused on right and wrong and good and evil
throughout the whole film, and how one will be judged solely by god, which is a
perfect parallel to this film and the very common Christian theme. Another film that
fits well with Telfords
40. Year Round Schooling Essay
Year Round Schooling The education system in the United States is an ever evolving
institution. As a country we have progressed from one room schoolhouses, to
segregated classrooms, to online learning environments. Congress is constantly
passing legislation to better our public school systems and minimize costs to
taxpayers. Individual states have also implemented various new systems to try and
maximize their education potential. One such alternative is year round schooling.
Year round schooling has become increasingly popular over the past few decades and
is still a rapidly growing trend.

While one group is on break, the rest of the groups are in school, and they continue
to rotate so that as many students as possible can attend. In a four track school
district, student capacity is increased by 33%. In an extended year system, the
required number of days that children must attend school is increased from 180 to up
to 240.
There is also another calendar alternative that can be implemented in school systems:
school wide and school within a school calendars. In a school wide calendar, all of
the students follow the same yearlong schedule. But in the school within a school
calendar, half of the students are on a yearlong calendar and the other half are on the
traditional nine month calendar. This type of system has been implemented in
several school districts in North Carolina.
Some schools (such as Timber Lane school in Virginia) that follow yearlong
calendars also offer classes during the intercession breaks. These classes can be
voluntary for students who want to get ahead or learn a new or interesting skill, or
they can be mandatory for students who struggle and need the time to catch up on the
material learned during the year. Regardless of the reason for attending, both teachers
and students view intercession classes as a positive aspect of the year round school
system.
There are many other reasons why year round schooling is beneficial to students.

worship the god Rain. A great pyramid is in the works of being built as well, this
pyramid will be similar to his father Pharaoh Khufus and will be his final resting
place. I am a scribe, meaning I know how to read and write in our language. My job
is to inscribe temples, tablets or any other thing I am asked to. These letters I am
writing are called hieroglyphics and we only use them when we talk to or about
the gods, they are a religious alphabet we use to honor them. Our everyday writing
is called hieratics and it is mainly used for business, administration and keeping
records on papyrus, our form of paper, it is reed flattened out. I do enjoy my job; I
am not dragging limestone for distances or slaving away building pyramids or
temples for our pharaoh. You could say that I am of a higher social division. I am
not a criminal nor am I severely poor, these people are our slaves. They break their
backs doing hard manual labor for our Pharaoh. There is also a group of citizens that
voluntarily do hard labor, these are not extremely poor but are not rich either.
42. Utilitarianism In Catch 22
The military protects and keeps the people of a nation away from harm, but does
the means of inhumane treatment of soldiers and disregard for morality justify the
end goal? In Catch 22, by Joseph Heller, a story unfolds the events of a bomber
captain named John Yossarian as he tries his hardest to avoid combat and an
untimely death, portrayed in dark humor and depressing undertones of the realistic
atrocities that occur in war. The plight of Yossarian is made more difficult by the
harsh conditions of the war zone on one side and the bureaucratic higher ranking
officers on the other. The military asserts absolute control over the soldiers and forces
them into no wins scenarios, as shown in the title, Catch 22, a paradoxical situation

Yossarian and his squadron is given a dangerous mission to Bologna in order to
further the reputation of the officers, which Yossarian attempts to avoid. Nothing
could save the men in Pianosa from the mission to Bologna. They were trapped
(Heller, 118). The officers eagerly give their men a dangerous mission that will most
likely cost them their lives. The mission would boost the officer s reputation, so they
willingly accept at the cost of the soldiers lives. The actions Yossarian takes only lead
him into more peril. Almost every action in the novel triggers an unpredictable
reaction, a situation that renders cause and effect largely meaningless and creates
an absurd world from which escape is nearly impossible (Maus). The officers
compete for rank as if that is the only thing that matters to them. Colonel Cathcart
wanted to be a general so desperately he was willing to try anything (Heller, 189).
The officer s would easily sacrifice lives to gain reputation and power in the military
chain. They compete in petty and useless battles to outrank each other. The soldier
are unable to escape combat. According to the mad bureaucratic premise of Joseph
Heller s World War II novel Catch 22, a bomber pilot such as the book s antihero,
John Yossarian might be relieved from active duty by claiming insanity, were it not
for the fact that the attempt to avoid further missions itself proved the pilot s sanity
(Hoberman). Yossarian and his friends are unable to leave because of the authority
of officers who have set an impossible scenario to escape. The only way out was to
be let out by the doctor, but the doctor can t let anyone out because of the

1. Describe the HP organizational Culture. What are some implications of this
culture for developing new innovations? What is evidence of R amp;D s dominance
in HP? The HP organizational culture revolved around the HP Way, which strongly
stressed consensus decision making. While this had worked in many ways for HP in
the past, this type of culture created its share of problems. Because GHC s business is
technology driven, the culture was dominated by R amp;D. While the company was
making the sift to give other functional areas more input as markets began to shift
towards business and consumer users, the consensus decision making culture made
this a hard task. Even when there were disagreements, multifunctional teams would...

46. Really Simple Syndication Allows for Updated Information
Introduction
RSS (Rich Site Summary) originally RDF Site Summary; often called
Really Simple Syndication uses a domestic of standard feed plans to publish
frequently updated information: new entries, news headlines, audio, and video. An
RSS document is also called feed includes full or summarized text, and metadata, like
publishing date and author s name.
This allows users to get and understand the information, so that all of the lists they
re interested in can be tracked and modified for them. It is a format that s planned
for use by computers on behalf of people, rather than being directly offered to them
(like HTML).
A standard XML file format guarantees compatibility with many diverse machines
/programs. RSS feeds also advantage users who want to receive timely updates from
favorite websites or to collective data from many sites.
Subscribing to a website RSS eliminates the basic for the user to physically check
the web site for new content. Instead, their browser regularly displays the site and
informs the user of any updates that has been made by web developer. The browser
can also be ordered to automatically download the new data for the user.
How it Works
Consider about all of the information that you access on the Web every day; news
headlines, search results, what s new, jobs available etc.
RSS reader can be web based, desktop based, or mobile devices. Users subscribe to
the feeds either by entering a feed s URI into the reader. The RSS reader
47. Choosing Between Graduate School and the Peace Corps
Essay
The Peace Corps is an organization of people who are America s international
helpers. This is a federal government program that was designed to bring about
peace and hospitality to developing countries. This organization has a virtuous
history of people of all race backgrounds and genders who come together to help
others. The volunteers have no obligation toward the people of the world but they
serve by their own intent as Americans and individuals. Volunteers who finish their
service are of great character because they offer their own time to help those in need.
They are the people with hearts and minds that are ready to give their energy to
endure what situations that may rise in their service. However a person going into

The lowest paid salary group was in education, history, and psychology (493). As a
psychology major working toward my bachelor degree this is not a shock but a
frequent reminder as I continued my research. However, if an individual is
determined to withstand all odds of the graduate school from the application process
to attending the school itself that individual will have a more effective chance at
the working world. Depending on where an individual goes and other factors
graduate school can be the most enhancing experience or the most dreadful one. In
my opinion, the main point of graduate school is to obtain a higher degree in a
particular field of study by individuals using themselves, others and consistent time
and energy to their education. The students that go to graduate will be tested on
what they believe and what they perceive as the truth. Students will be educated on
their specific field and go through rigorous evaluation on what they learn about it
and how they apply it to the real world. Campbell graduate student Elizabeth Reavis
states, while in grad school you are gaining acceptance of different things through
knowledge . What I obtain from her statement was an individual goes through a self
transformation during their years of learning and practicing for that acceptance of
others ideas and methods. Graduate school is a vast decision past undergraduate

48. Contributions Of Nanotechnology
Mirkin has published on a variety of nanotechnology applications, including;
anisotropic nanostructures, programmable nanostructure, dip pen nanolithography,
and spherical nucleic acids. The general goal of his research is to develop analytical
technique, bio diagnostic, and biotherapies that are assisted by nanoparticles. The
primary focus of this report will be Professor
Mirkin s work on bio therapeutics performed with spherical nucleic acids (SNA s).
A SNA can be defined as a nanoparticle bound with a dense oligonucleotide (a
polymer of 13 25 nucleotides) shell. 5 The nanoparticle core (nanocore) can be made
from a variety of materials, such as, gold, silver, cadmium selenide, and ferroferric
oxide. The nanocore material maintains its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

They discovered that SNA s have a high propensity for cellular uptake and are
highly stable in cellular environments. 5 SNA s biological applicability lies in their
oligonucleotide shell. Many diseases can be controlled via gene regulation (RNA
interference therapeutics). To regulate gene expression, oligonucleotides can be
introduced into a cell. Oligonucleotides can then bind complimentary sequence of
RNA, inhibiting gene expression. However, free RNA is not easily transported into
the cell.
Furthermore, if RNA does enter a cell it is promptly degraded by nucleases. SNA s
offer a solution to this problem. They are readily transported into the cell via
scavenger receptors and are immune to nuclease degradation. 3 This relationship is
observed because of their dense oligonucleotide shells.
An example of a disease that can be treated with RNA interference therapeutics is
glioblastoma.
Glioblastoma is a neurodegenerative disease that is primary side effect is the
development of brain tumors. 6 Mirkin and co worker s objective was to develop a
SNA that could simultaneously regulate oncogenes (genes that code for unregulated
cell division) while being fluorescently active. Two nanocore materials were utilized
in this study: gold and gadolinium. The surfaces of these nanocores were
functionalized with a sequence of nucleic acids that was shown to down regulate the
expression of
Bcl2L12 protein, a protein that s overexpression is an indicator of glioblastoma. This
49. The Core Beliefs Of The Anglo-Saxons In Beowulf
The core beliefs and the things the anglo saxons saw as important are clear
throughout the story of beowulf. The anglo saxons believed in strong loyalty to
each other and to the leader. The anglo saxons also had a pagan background and
saw warriors as high members of society. All these beliefs and core values are
exhibited in beowulf.
Beowulf has a strong anglo saxon values sprinkled through it including a strong
sense of loyalty. This sense of loyalty shows up time and time again within
beowulf. One of the most notable times loyalty is brought up in beowulf is in The
Last Battle. Wiglaf is the character used to show loyalty. Beowulf is in a battle and
his soldiers leave out of fear, Wiglaf decides that the most loyal and honorable thing
to do is go help his king fight. Even though his chances of survival are low, Wiglaf
goes back to help his king. This sense of loyalty that would mean loyalty even until
death shows how strongly the anglo saxons valued loyalty. ... Show more content on

The most prominent example of of the pagan background is Grendel. While the
people of this story show connections with christian beliefs, Grendel connects more
with the pagan background of the anglo saxons. Grendel is the opponent of the
people and he is evil, this is a very similar connection to the christian versus pagan
conflict in the anglo saxon culture. The christians or good guys try to fight off the
pagans, the bad guys, because their belief systems don t line up. In the story,
however, Grendel kills the people and eats them in his cave. The conflict between
christian and pagan beliefs within the anglo saxon history shows up in

The Book of Hosea is one among the several books of the Hebrew scripture and
appears as the first in the order of the twelve Minor Prophets. The term minor refers
to the length and not the importance of the books when compared to the books of
Ezekiel, Isaiah and Jeremiah. All the twelve minor books are Hosea, Joel, Amos,
Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Zechariah, Haggai Malachi
(Feinberg, 1990). Hosea was instructed by God to marry a prostitute, by the name of
Gomer, who symbolized covenantal relationship between Israel and him (God).

names given to his children. This paper seeks to give an illustrative description on

Hosea the man. Little information is given about the prophet. According to Mays
(1969) the name Hosea appears only in the title of the book and the heading for the
narrative in chapter one and is not mentioned anywhere again in the book (Mays, p.
1), while according to Hallman Dictionary (1991), the name Hosea only appears at
Hosea chapter 1 verses 1 2 and at Romans chapter 9 verse 25 in the Bible. There is no
information about where he was born, what he did before becoming a prophet, or
when and how he was called to be a prophet. He certainly became a prophet at the
marriageable age because that is when the message of God came to him (Mays, p.
2). From the first verse, we are able to know his father s name; Beeri and no other
information about him. The name Hosea means salvation. Hosea is identified as a
prophet in Hosea 1 verse1 and a genuine one for that matter, the word of the Lord
came to him and the source of his authority was God.
Hallman Dictionary (1991) shows that depending on the information shown in the
book of Hosea,
