The Traditional Family In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman
Since the postwar era, various groups of people have understood the traditional family form as the key
to U.S. political and economic stability, a source of oppression and repression, and an imperiled
institution. And although American families have often been portrayed in these various ways,
American families have recently been pushing against the norm since WWII. What is this traditional
family form being mentioned? At the very least, this traditional family consists of a husband who
works to provide for his stay at home wife. This family form could be fulfilled by just about any white
heterosexual married couple with enough income to own a house and drive a car. Therefore, if being
part of this traditional family form is key to U.S. political and economic stability, does that mean that
differing in the slightest will ensure an unsuccessful livelihood? Arthur Miller presents his perspective
on this contention in his play Death of a Salesman. The play Death of a Salesman focuses on a
fictitious African American family living in Brooklyn, New York. The father of the family, Willy
Loman, has been a salesman his whole life, trying to provide for his wife and two sons. Although
Willy considers himself to be a successful, popular, and well liked salesman, it is the exact opposite
that is true. As Mr. Loman aged, He tried to make himself feel better by living in his world of
delusion, by lying to himself and his family; the fact of the matter was that he could no longer

Describe the Concept of Jit and Its Relationship to...
Just In Time (JIT) is a management philosophy which implements systems or processes which aims to
maximise return of investment by maximising production efficiency, improving product quality,
reducing manufacturing and logistical costs, and the elimination of waste. JIT, as the name implies,
also means bringing the right materials at the right place at the right time. Items must arrive as and
when they are needed, neither earlier nor later, but just in time . In its strictest sense, inventory is
considered a waste in JIT. In logistics, JIT aims to eliminate waste of all forms; be it time, resources or
materials.
Although the JIT concept has been applied loosely for years by various organisations, the JIT
philosophy we know today can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the computers delivered were customized according to different customer requirements, without
compromising on quality. With JIT, production levels can be easily adjusted to meet demand.
Integrated supplier and distributor networks were instrumental in the success of Dell Computers.
Without these relationships, Dell would not have been able to support a 50+% growth rate for 3
consecutive years that lead to $12 billion in annual sales by 1997. (Fillard, Frahm, Mercer Scott, n.d.)
Although the JIT system managed to revolutionise numerous companies in the way they run their
logistics, it is not all a bed of roses for some companies. Since JIT does away with supply inventory,
companies are sometimes forced to be over dependent on their JIT suppliers. Sometimes they are at
their suppliers mercy. Examples of this can be found at Ford Motor Company and General Motors.
Ford faced a problem with one of its suppliers which forced them to shut down six plants which cost
them tens of millions of dollars. The supply company for General Motors had a strike, and supplies
could not be delivered. Two thirds of their plants had to shut down. This cost GM about $600 million
in profits in 1996. (Glenn, T. 2001)
For JIT to be efficiently implemented, it is vital for companies to have the right partner suppliers
which share the same JIT commitment and drive. Toyota

English Comp II Reflection
Reflective Paper As I reflect on English Comp II 112, I have a variety of mixed emotions about this. I
was unsure of the class at first, for many reasons. My very first day I remember leaving the J off my
professor s name and I just knew it would be a downward spiral after that. To me, writing was
something I loved to do but I had a difficult time putting my thoughts into words and organizing my
paper. Usually, once I typed my introduction I thought my thoughts would just flow from that point,
but they never did. Never the less, I kept striving to have a great paper. In the beginning, I was anxious
to begin my first assignment since I had done so well in English Comp I, I thought, how hard would
English Comp II be? Let s just say, Comp

The Boy Who Cried Wolf By B. G. Hennessy
Don t Lie to your Parents It s bad enough when you lie to your parents but its worse when you lie to
them about not going to church. I learned that you should not lie to your parents because no one
believes a liar. No one likes a liar because you never know if they are telling the truth. There is a story
about this called The Boy Who Cried Wolf by B.G. Hennessy where we learn that liars are never
trusted. After what happened a few weeks ago my parents won t trust me to go out with friends again.
It was an ordinary weekend. I woke up Saturday morning and went to work. After work I could go
home and do anything I felt like doing. Around 8 my friend Carlos texted me and asked if I wanted to
come over and spend the night. So at 9 when my dad and sister got home from shopping I went over

Kraft Foods, Incorporated has a long history, but even large companies who have been around a long

This method was eventually patented in 1916. This business continued to thrive, and in 1930, National
Dairy Products Corporation acquired it. The history of Kraft Foods Incorporated is a long and
complex timeline of events, but
these three founders were a huge part of the foundation of this business. Through this long history,
Kraft has acquired more than 70 major brands (The History of, n.d., pg. 5). Kraft Foods Incorporated
is now the world s second largest food company with annual revenues of $49.2 billion (Kraft Foods,

make such a big mistake, and how did it affect them in the long run?
Ready to Roll Sweepstakes In June of 1989, Kraft Foods Incorporated put a promotional sweepstakes
in newspapers in Chicago and Houston in an attempt to attract the attention of those markets which
they did but not necessarily in a good way. This promotion was called Ready to Roll, and it involved
matching game pieces. The right half of these game pieces were printed out onto promotional flyers
found in newspapers in Chicago and Houston. The left half of the game pieces could be found in
specially marked Kraft cheese slice packages. If these pieces were matched together and sent in by the

Critical Commentary of Frantz Fanon
The issue of reading Fanon today, then, is perhaps not about finding the moment of relevance in Fanon
s text that corresponds with the world, but in searching for the moments where Fanon s text and the
world do not correspond, and asking how Fanon, the revolutionary, would think and act in the period
of retrogression.
A complete study of 1968 and its legacies in Europe can not solely deal with events that occurred on
the continent. 1968 was, in fact, a global phenomenon ; with ideas perpetrated in Europe reaching as
far as Mexico, China, and India, but to name a few . The beginning of this mutualistic relationship
between New Left groups on different continents (which spawned the revolutionary feeling which
would result in the events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first, the book attracted a considerable amount of attention purely because of its author. For the first
time a black anti colonial activist used a word coined by white French social scientists... in an
affirmative manner , arguably more affirmative than anyone had before . Certainly, Jean Paul Sartre,
who wrote the preface for The Wretched of the Earth and was one of Fanon s literary influences,
approved of his work, as Robert Bernasconi confirms in his piece Fanon s The Wretched of the Earth
as the Fulfilment of Sartre s Critique of Dialectical Reason, Sartre would have found The Wretched of
the Earth closer to the dialectical concrete than anything he had written . The backdrop to the book is
the seven yearlong Algerian War of Independence of which Fanon was a great supporter. A lot of the
theoretical concepts for dealing with the process of de colonisation that Fanon speaks of in
Concerning Violence are his recommendations to the nations of Algeria and Kenya, both of whom
were, during 1961 striving to gain independence from France and Britain. Motivated by, what he
deemed to be an urgent call for an international redistribution of wealth , Fanon calls for solidarity
among the rural masses, which he believes can only be gained through them and by violent means .
Rejecting the opulence of European powers as literally scandalous , Fanon establishes a

Cowside Beck Discharge Analysis
Introduction Hillslopes are incredibly important as they cover the vast majority of United Kingdoms
(UK) upland landscapes. In sight of this, an aim in this project was to analyse the slope profiles of the
valley system around Cowside Beck. Not only do hillslope processes have influence on the formation
and aesthetics of UK upland areas, fluvial processes also have high significance, leading another aim
in this project to be able to ascertain the discharge of Cowside Beck using the velocity area method.
Method We used the velocity area method as discharge is calculated by the product of the cross
sectional area of the water and its velocity. The discharge of cowside beck was calculated after the
initial data collection. To calculate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A stratified sampling method was chosen due to the changes in the hillslope profiles being localised in
areas over small intervals, this method was efficient and representative of the full range of changes. A
limitation of this method is that choosing the sections was subjective, in order to decrease the
subjectivity and any bias that may be present, the same person chose the sections each time. Time was
one of the main constraints in this enquiry therefore we chose to use the clinometer tape method rather
than levelling all the way up the hillslope as it was a much simpler approach and took less time to set
up and undertake. In some narrow sections the hillslope had a small angle, being almost flat, an
explanation for this is the area of Cowside Beck is a popular tourist destination for walkers so
footpaths were present. In some of the sample sections, no evidence of mass movement was observed.
However in other areas, mass movement is the key to understanding the shape of the hillslope.
Numerous sample sites contained terracettes, which is an explanation for the slope having concavities
and convexities in close proximity to each other. These landforms are formed by the mass movement
process of soil creep. Soil creep is a very slow process that occurs when the underlying rock becomes
saturated and in turn causing the soil to become saturated. Often the hillslope is steep so the soil
cannot remain stable and gets thrust away from the slope. The material expands due to processes of
freezing, heating and water action and the soil slowly creeps downhill due to gravity. The
concentration of the terracettes in the earlier sites nearer to the river can be explained by the water
table lying some distance up the hillslope so the river lies below the water table. This causes the soil in
this area to become more saturated and heavier hence more soil

Moreover, although Hospital can be held vicariously liable for the fraud of another, this theory of
fraud only applies if Hospital knows of or participates in the fraud, and benefits from the fraud. We

Based on the foregoing, the Settlement Agreement does not appear to support a fraud claim against

Essay On Bossa Nova
As Christopher Small, it is true that there is no culture ever disappears but it is transformed over and
over again through the new one (Small, On cultures and their fusion 1998). Bossa nova, means „new
trend‟, is a kind of Brazilian music that is transformed by two fusion; samba and strong American jazz
influenced (Wikipedia). It was known in 1957 and 1963 especially among young students and
musicians who would like to bring a complicated combination of melody to be harmony and be more
relaxing rather than using powerful voice and strong meaning. According to Tom Jobim, one of the
fathers of bossa nova, said music is the silence between the notes (Just landed 2016). The interesting
point is „where and how did Bossa Nova start?‟ The paper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It tends to be the rising of the cool wave from Brazil in the style of cool jazz. It shows how influence
for a musical style developed in a peripheral country as Brazil was introduced in a large and central
market place as the American (New World Encyclopedia).
Bossa nova becomes well known in worldwide; not only in Brazil and North
America. It is because of convenient communication and easier crossing borders among different
national people by new technologies (Administrator_v 2006). The transnationalism makes the world
be „hybridization‟ and deterritorialization because places are reproducing and transformation in the
appropriate way (Appadurai 1990). In the 21 st century, people in the global world tend to appreciate
and enjoy the music purely without consciousness of the history and the transnational from the origins
of it.
Moreover, most of the current music is produced for business term without recognition of the original
history of it. The fascinating history of the music is faded away (Reed
2013).
Until today, music changed in both developing countries and the spreading

Analysing the Female Characters in Henry James Fiction Essay
Analysing the Female Characters in Henry James Fiction A woman it seems to me has no natural place

Discuss James representations of places for women in his novels.
There is an impressive range of female characters in Henry James fiction. Drawn to the world of
wealth and leisure as a subject, a world which was at the same time, ironically the context for his own
hermetic labours as a writer, James perhaps inevitably came to concentrate on the feminine.
Correspondingly, most of his male characters seem to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The theme so early recognised as particularly James own was the international one, and the expression
of this theme pivoted around the figure of the American girl. The critic W.D. Howells (1958 P.63)
credited James with being the inventor of the International American girl . The American girl, as she
appears in James early stories and novels is independent, moral, free, innocent, and her attractiveness
is either delicate or of a pale and rather asexual kind. In her less refined or serious form, she may be
ignorant, brash or simply naïve. She is, of course, as always unmarried. In using the American girl as
central to his exploration of the interaction of American and European society, it was not at first in the
girl herself that James placed the distinguished American moral consciousness, and when she was

with moral seriousness the conscious response to its clash with social convention was again, in the
early work, usually located in a male onlooker. Her self consciousness according to Habegger (1960,
P.67) developed out of a line of American girls who were absorbed by Europe, withdrew from it, or
were destroyed by it, and this is the reason

Gender Aspects Of Gender And Gender Role Development
Unfortunately, young girls and boys are given very different ideas of expectations, guidelines and
messages about their genders, which cause strain and hierarchies for both genders. When playing, girls
are more likely to play with toys that are neutral or considered masculine, and usually not be bullied or
negatively judged to a serious extent. Young males experience a very strict set of expectations that if
not followed, they receive negative life consequences and negative reinforcement, such as bullying. If
a boy chooses activities or actions that are feminine it is punishable by disapproval by peers, family,
and society (O Brien et al, 2000). As young as preschool age, boys are more likely to choose toys and
activities that are masculine and they begin to exhibit a strict belief in typical boy like gendered
behavior. Apart from parents, peer and one s friend group influence a major part in the gender role
development throughout all stages of adolescence. Around the age there is often an increase in this
behavior. Starting from age five, boys tend to mingle within a crowd, and take part in group activities,
whereas, girls prefer solitude or small groups of two or three people (Santrock, 2009). They develop a
strong sense of what is appropriate and inappropriate behavior and activities for their sex and opposite
sex. The practice of introducing stereotypes and gender roles early in life causes sexism, aggression,
gender role conflict, and a new generation of people

Similarities And Differences Between The Ramna And The Iliad
The Ramayana and The Iliad are both significant pieces of literature in India and Greece. The two
main characters in the stories are Rama and Achilles. In the Ramayana, Rama is a prince who had
been exiled the kingdom to the forest. In the Iliad, Achilles is an egotistical warrior who goes to war to
claim glory and fame. The two heroes from the Ramayana and the Iliad are both epic heroes who
share some similarities and differences regarding their heroism. Rama and Achilles were seen as a
Hindu and a Homeric hero respectively. The idea of heroism in Hindu culture is markedly different to
Homeric ones. The stories of the Ramayana and the Iliad influence society a lot, as both characters are
considered as heroes. Rama is heroic in Indian culture because he obeys his father and loyal to
dharma. This is associated with the beliefs of the ancient Indian culture at that time. Hindu heroes
must follow Dharma and have an ideal model behavior in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their reason for fighting is very similar. In the Iliad, Achilles fights Hector after Hector murdered
Achilles s best friend, Patroclus. In the Ramayana, Rama fights against the enemy, Ravana, because
Ravana kidnaps Rama s wife, Sita. Both characters defeat the enemy because their loved ones were
being harmed. However, the differences are that the heroes have a different sequence of events that led
to the following test where they fight their enemy. For example, in the Ramayana, Sita got kidnapped
as an indirect result of Rama obeys his father s wishes going into the wood for fourteen years as a
hermit. On the other hand, in the Illiad, Patroclus is killed; it directly results in Achilles actions.
Patroclus might not have been killed if Achilles had agreed to accept Agamemnon s decision to take
the girl, Briseis away just like Rama took his father s promise. Achilles s anger is a result of this
happening but Patroclus s death excessed his previous anger to

The Effects of Greed and The American Dream in The Great Gatsby
F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby focuses on the excitement and adventure of the roaring
twenties, a time filled with great economic success and parties said to last the whole decade. New to
Long Island and New York, aspiring bond man Nick Carraway becomes infatuated with the lifestyle of
his rich peers living the American dream . He gains interest in his mysterious neighbor Jay Gatsby,
who lives in an incredible mansion and has a vast amount of wealth. Gatsby uses his money to try and
steal his love, Daisy Buchanan from her unfaithful husband, Tom. Characters in The Great Gatsby are
unhappy and unfulfilled with their lives due to greed manipulating their view of The American Dream.
This skewed perception also affects their unreasonable life expectations and their narcissistic thoughts
create a larger potential for failure, such as Gatsby s extravagant plan to steal Daisy Buchanan.
Jay Gatsby is a self made man, he turned himself from a farm boy to one of the richest men in
America at the time and bought himself a beautiful mansion on West Egg, Long Island with the other
new millionaires. In contrast to the newly rich, there are those who have inherited their wealth from
family before them such as Tom and Daisy Buchanan. These people were lucky to be born into their
lives and reside on East Egg along with other family s with old money . Readers come to easily

they choose to take need to be constantly weighed up against the likelihood of significant harm arising
from that choice and the situation in question. In section 3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

The Great Emancipator And A Tough Political Opponent...
Henry Clay, known as The Great Emancipator and a tough political opponent versus Andrew Jackson
in the 1832 election, made his opinion on Native American removal known in 1829 during his State of
the Union Address (Biography.com Editors). Clay was in a position of great power, as he was one of
the first modern politician who had carefully create an image for himself , which boosted his
popularity in office, even against a famous opponent, such as Jackson. To convey his audience, he
uses literary devices, such as logos, by comparing the Indians as a lower form of life. Despite his
powerful position, he lost the electoral college s presidential vote by a large margin, 219 49 (Courier).
In Clay s speech On Native Americans, where he addresses his plans of Indian removal west of the
Mississippi, he uses ethos, logos, and others opinions to take a stand against Native Americans.
Historical Background/Purpose of Speech Earlier serving a lawyer in the western United States, or
frontier, Clay never had much of a plan for a career in politics. He was born on April 12, 1777, in
Hanover County, Virginia (Biography.com Editors). As a son of a wealthy reverend, and the seventh of
nine children, he had a special link to American History. As the age of 3, he witnessed the place he had
called home, be broken into and damaged by British troops (Hopkins). Later, he took his bar exam and
was admitted in 1797 in Virginia. Clay moved to Lexington, Kentucky. Not alone in his travels,

The Treaty Of The Old Testament
In the days of the Old Testament, if you wanted to make a deal with someone, you could either make a
promise, or make a covenant with them. However, an important distinction needs to be made here. A
promise can be broken without severe consequence. To the people of the Ancient Near East, a
covenant closely resembled a Suzerainty Treaty; this was a legal bond between two parties, one being
the Suzerain with power, and another being the Vassal, that is agreeing to help from the Suzerain. The
treaty describes blessings that will occur from Suzerain to Vassal if the treaty is upheld, and cursings if
it is not. This document would be accompanied by a ceremony that involved the cutting of animals

The sign of the covenant is a rainbow, mentioned in Gen. 9:13. Following such a devastating scale of
destruction by water, God wanted His bow to be a sign whenever clouds appeared that He would be
faithful to His covenant with all flesh on earth. The character of God described through this covenant
is His great care for every aspect of His creation. Through Genesis 9:9 11, God describes in great
detail who and what shall benefit from the covenant He makes with Noah. He not only mentions Noah
s immediate family (which in turn is the peoples of the earth), but even goes as far to describe His care
for the beasts of the earth. Busenlitz says The reason for such detail is to make the divine concern for
even the least of the creatures strongly apparent (p 184). God s incredible care for His people carries
over into the next covenant, with assurances of not only earthly glories, but heavenly also. Abrahamic
Covenant The Abrahamic covenant is God s assurance to make Abraham s name great, but eventually
make His name greater. The main promises associated with the Abrahamic covenant are I will give all
these lands , I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky , and through your
offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed (Niehaus, 251 52). This covenant was significant

Little Red Riding Hood And Wolf Comparison
Introduction:
The Grimm Brothers Little Red Riding Hood (1857), and Roald Dahl s contemporary spin on the well
known fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (1982), both endeavored to shape the meaning
of the traditional fairy tale. Although Dahl relies on an audience familiar with the original fable to
appreciate his alterations, both texts are aimed towards a target audience of children. Through
comparison of the two differing versions, connections will be identified. Similarities and differences
in relation to form, purpose and language will be explained; and subsequently, how these similarities
and differences impact the target audience.
Form:
Encapsulating the traditional fairy tale structure, Grimm s tale is presented in the form of a narrative,
featuring a clear introduction, plot, and resolution. Grimm preserves the phrase symbolic to traditional
fairy tales, once upon a time , introducing the audience to a familiar world of fantasy. The events
unfold through a chronological sequence: After that the aged grandmother , Then all three were
delighted and Soon afterwards the wolf knocked , followed by informative sentences: the door sprang
open, and without saying a word he went straight to the grandmother s bed, and devoured her ,
complimenting Grimm s formal and instructive intentions, embellishing and providing the audience
with a sound understanding. Grimm embraces the use of a third person voice to gain authority of the
audience, and sufficiently sculpts each character into their conventional protagonist and antagonist
roles: Little Red Riding Hood as a dear little girl and wolf as wicked creature .
Dahl offers a significantly different interpretation, transforming the traditional folk tale into a poem.
The consistent use of rhyme and rhythm appeals to the audience, allowing smooth transition and flow
between sequences. The several stanzas composing the poem feature short sentences which add
clarity; eventually compacting at the final plot twist, The small girl smiles. One eyelid flickers , to
represent an acceleration in pace and create audience suspension. Dahl also begins his version with the
wolf a perspective not usually seen to ensure the audience identifies with the wolf.

made her own. Phoenix s body is worn and giving away, yet time again she hikes herself up the hill,
crosses the creek, crawls under the barbed wire fence, and puts up with the criticism the hunter piles
upon her. By these moves, the author has proven to us how determined and driven this woman is to

The Differences Between an Associate Degree Nurse and Bachelor Degree Nurse
Associate Degree versus Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Throughout history, a nurse has been defined as a person caring for the sick (Merriam Webster, Inc.,

Bachelor of Science Degree, all candidates must pass the national licensure exam. This enables the

This focus is adapted to primarily prepare the ADN student for more day to day nursing activities. In
1952, Mildred Montag, in response to the nursing shortage, designed a program to counter the college
level nursing programs. An associate degree was the end result. (Haase, 2006, p. 1)
To answer the question posed: Is the nursing education level a contributing issue in the deliverance of
quality care and patient safety? The American Association of Colleges of Nursing believes that
baccalaureate prepared nurses like other health care providers, practice at a higher level. Nurses
processing a Bachelor s Degree are molded to adapt to the changing health care environment and its
demands. This can be accomplished by leadership development, as well as critical thinking
emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention across all environments of care . (American
Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2012, p. 1)
With the health care system changing so rapidly, it is important that nurses are autonomous. It is
necessary, as patient advocates, that we understand the cause and effect of all entities involving our
patients. Critical thinking and making the correct judgment call clinically is vital. A patient situation

competitors in the town and industry. Walton reduced the prices of his products so that they were
lower to those that were being offered by the competitors. By 2007, Walmart had over 3,400 retail
outlets throughout the country. The store also had 1.3 million employees and had facilitated about 6.49

readers and tell them how technology has taken over the world. His book demonstrates how
technology has changed the world and how it changes the way we communicate to others. People now
communicate with others through technology rather than in person. Technology is good for society
unless it controls it. It can take over peoples lives and affect the way they look at the world. Bradbury

Society changed what the people thought, while also lying to them about what the people believed.
They fed the people these lies that books were dangerous and that having knowledge would corrupt
their minds. The firefighters attacked those who had books and burned their houses down because
they thought it was the right thing to do. Society has changed them so much that they do not
acknowledge the fact that what they were doing was wrong. The main character, Montag, however
realized that burning those houses down was a wrong thing to do. He found out that society has kept
them from gaining all this knowledge from books and wanted to change what they have done.
However, society does not want to change what they have already built so they will eliminate those
who will interfere with the change of society. This shows readers how society has control of their
lives. They have control of their minds without them realizing it. They have brainwashed the people
into believing what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. Society distracts the people
by using the family on the screen. This also brainwashes them into thinking that life within a screen is
better than real life. This is how people interact in their society. They talk about what is on the screen

Scottsboro Trial In To Kill A Mockingbird
Ever since the inception of slavery in the United States, white families have falsely accused black men
of rape in order to gain power and demonize their slaves. Rape has been used by white men in order to
gain and keep power since the beginnings of their supremacy (Haynes 1). This is true for both actual
rape and false rape accusations, as assault takes away a victim s power and a false accusation takes
away that of the accused. As such, white families have accused men, specifically black men, of raping
the white women in their communities and families for centuries. Almost all of these cases resulted in
the death of the defendant, either by lynching (the illegal murder of a marginalized person) or the
death penalty. Of these deaths, 66% ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is due to a centuries old racial tension in this part of the country. Subsequently, it is also the
setting for To Kill A Mockingbird. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses the trial of Tom
Robinson to showcase how false rape accusations such as the trial of Pleasant, a slave, and the
Scottsboro trials were used as power plays by white families against black men.
In the case of Tom Robinson, Mayella and Bob Ewell used rape accusations in order to obtain power
and control over Tom and the black community of Maycomb, Alabama. Mayella claims that Tom
choked and beat her with his left hand and proceeded to rape her until her father returned home.
However, Tom s left arm was fully twelve inches shorter than his right, and hung dead at his side (Lee
248). This reveals that her story about him beating her could not have been true. The use of the word
dead is an indication that he has no control whatsoever over his hand. As his left hand was useless,
Tom could not have caused bruising to the right side of her face. Even after her story was disproven,
Tom was found guilty, largely due to the fact that his jury was comprised of white farmers and not of
his peers. According to Scout

Jane s Austen s Use of Realism in Persuasion Essay
Jane Austen only ever had six completed novels the last to be published being Persuasion (1818), all
of which were based around the realist and novel of manners genre. Persuasion which falls into both
these categories follows the tale of Anne Elliott, a character based upon the Cinderella archetype.
Romanticism and novels of manners still to this day serves the same purpose, it provides the reader
with a window in which to peer into someone else s life, some may have seen their reflections,

reasoning behind her immense success as a novelist. The use of realism offer s and insight into the

can be most associated with, assists Austen in influencing the reader.
The novel uses an unknown third person omniscient narrator; this literary technique is regularly used
within Austen s novels. The narrator s judgements however are similar to those that we would expect
from the novel s protagonist Anne Elliott. The reader is persuaded to make judgments on the
characters within the novel by observing the behaviour and reactions of how they interact with the

Because these people used alcohol they automatically put themselves at a higher risk, than non
drinkers, for alcohol related injuries, problems with the law and many different negative health effects,
including liver dysfunction, (MU Health, 2004). Users of alcohol also put others around them at a
higher risk for negative consequences including disruption of events and studying, (Statistics on

Although all types of drinking can have adverse effects, there are different levels of use that result in
different effects. Moderate drinking is defined as drinking that generally does not cause problems in
the drinker or society, typically one drink per day. This low level of alcohol consumption has been
shown in studies to, reduce stress, decrease tension and anxiety, (NIAAA, 2000). Social drinking
generally does not cause problems with the individual as long as the amount consumed does not
increase over time, but this level of drinking has not been known to have any positive effects. Binge
drinking is classified as having five or more drinks in one sitting. This is the level of use that college
students engage in on the weekends. Some social effects that have been noted by students are the

Anatomy Of Hell Analysis
Catherine Breillat is another filmmaker that criticizes the aesthetics and societal demands to fit into
the norms of femininity and the burden it brings to the female sex. In her film, Anatomy of Hell, she
indulges in taboos and the society s indifference towards the female sex to shine a light on the
traditional and oppressive views of the female body and human sexuality. She explicitly explores the
depths of the female s sex and indulges in the men s view of the female body and the feelings it brings
about. The film follows a man and a woman in a four day exploration of women s sexuality in a
secluded home where the woman is in her most vulnerable stage (nudity) in hopes of understanding
how men view women. The film opens up with her in a gay club where she is openly isolated as the
only woman and excluded in her otherness. She is surrounded by men on men sexual activity through
kissing, dancing, and oral stimulation. The scene overwhelming indulges in the isolation of women in
their femininity and thus becomes a metaphor for women s place in the world and society. Their
appearance is viewed as that of Other where they can not appear and move in the same way as men
and this scene explicitly shows how excluded women feel from public space in a society dominated by
man. The woman enters this scene and feels overwhelmed by the masculinity surrounding her and the
inferiority imposed on her through their immense presence, so she goes to the bathroom where she
brushes past a man who actually sees her. She sees him the way he sees her and goes to commit
suicide. In an interview with Breillat, she states More than desire, she is looking for her sexual
identity, for her self. For her, he is a kind of image. It s not a club for homosexuals, it s a club where

a. A faceoff, or draw, is when two players come to exact middle of the field, which is marked by a
small circle. The rest of the team surrounds them, standing on the edges of the circle.
b. For males, the faceoff takes place on the ground. Both players in the faceoff try to push the ball to

marketplace does have leveraging power with retailers, as it is an established company with many
products already contributing to a percentage of the stores All Commodity Volume (ACV), or the
percentage of everything sold in the store. However, Arimount must have overall successful supply
chain logistics as Simon, (2012) argues that even if Arimount obtains adequate shelf space for
Ironman, including supply on hand with online retailers, it will not sell if it is not on the shelf.
Nonetheless, Ironman s initial strategy is to manufacture just two formulations and be marketed to a
specific target group, therefore, is realistic for the space it will require and be allotted, and will
therefore attempt to obtain good shelf position. My measuring monthly sales data, it expected that
sales would peak during warmer months and when athletic events in full swing. Arimount can then
trade shelf space for Ironman with its other product lines to maintain an overall profitability for the

Brain Socializing
When socializing, your brain is working in so many different ways each part of the brain is
functioning to complete different tasks and react to different stimuli. The three primary would be
hippocampus, hypothalamus, and the occipital lobe. Each of these works independent of the other but
all 3 play substantial roles, especially in talking and socializing. The hippocampus plays a role in
memory, emotions and learning. So when you are playing cards with your friends and the game is new
to you, you will have to use your hippocampus to learn the game and keep in your memory how to
play it. If one of your friends were to have brought a new person over you would have to memorize
the new persons name. If you re socializing and someone begins talking

Sexual Assault In The Hunting Ground
Imagine this, you just moved into your dorm at your first choice of school ready to start the next four
years of college, only to get taken advantage of sexually by an upperclassman at your first college
party. This is just one of the many scenarios the documentary The Hunting Ground tells and happens
to sixteen percent of women who start their college careers. The film tells the inspirational story of
Andrea Pino and Annie Clark, two UNC Chapel Hill graduates, and their continuous journey to end
sexual assaults on college campuses and to motivate schools to stand up for their students. While
sexual assault has unfortunately always been a part of the college experience, the epidemic has
reached a breaking point in recent years, and the documentary ... Show more content on

More than 100 colleges and universities are currently under federal investigation for their handling of
sexual assaults complaints, and Title XI is being enforced at more and more at schools all around the
country. A number of schools have begun to notice the recent movements on college campus by
activities, like the carrying of mattresses across campuses, and have been pressured to talk more about
the safety of their institution. Sexual assaults are some of the most traumatic things that can happen to
anyone at any age, and after seeing this movie I hope that there is working going on to fix a issue that
shouldn t exist on any campus anywhere in the

Negative Effects Of Napoleon Bonaparte
The Napoleonic Age was the most controversial time period. Some people thought Napoleon was a
reformer, while others thought he was an absolute dictator. One thing is for sure though, that he
shaped France/Europe into the continent/country is is today. Napoleon was very narcissistic and cruel,
and did not value human life. At the same time, he believed in education and instruction. Also, he
positively influenced the schools and created the Napoleonic Code, which solved a lot of France s
problems. Napoleon Bonaparte had a negative impact on France, because he mistreated the rights that
every human should obtain, created a bad image for other countries, and only really cared about
absolute power.
Napoleon was born in Corsica, Italy and was entered directly into the Military, at age ten. Napoleon s
leadership, and role as emperor, was heavily based around the fact that all of his childhood was being
trained in the military! Some people view this in a negative light (seeing other people just as a target,
and appreciating human life.) Some people on the other hand, view this in a positive light (Being a
good instructor, and knowing how to make the right moves with politics.) During the French
revolution the citizens of France tried to create a republic, and when they failed continuously,
Napoleon Bonaparte stepped up and became a strong leader in France. In 1799, the government
started to grow more and more corrupt, and that s when Napoleon came into play. Napoleon was an

The Namesake Short Story
Millions of people immigrate to the United States from various parts of the world. In the Namesake,
Ashoke and Ashima Ganguli moved to America from India. After moving to America, they gave birth
to their two children Gogol and Sonali. In America, the Ganguli family had to face many obstacles
such as language barrier, cultural barrier, and loneliness.
For many immigrants, in America, language barrier is one of the many obstacles that they have to
face. Ashima encountered this barrier when she was at the hospital for Gogol s birth. Patty smiles, a
little too widely, and suddenly Ashima realizes her error, knows she should have said fingers and toes.
Ashima realized that she made a mistake. This hurts Ashima because she tried hard to learn English
like many other immigrants. Immigrants not only have to worry about learning another language but
they also have to worry about teaching their kids their native language. Usually, when people move
and have kids in America, the kids have a hard time learning their parent s native language. Ashima
and Ashoke wanted to avoid this problem so they sent Gogol and Sonia to Bengali language and
culture lessons every other Saturday because it failed to unsettle them that their children sound just
like Americans, expertly conversing in a language that still at times confounds them in accents they
are accustomed not to trust. This shows the language barrier between the parents and the kids. When
Gogol and Sonia speak they sound American

Reasons For Police Brutality
As recent incidents of police brutality plague our nation toward minority groups, especially that of
African Americans, the question asked by many is if such deadly force necessary, and what other
actions could have led to a better outcome? Although our primary thought is to blame police officers
for death, we must realize that sometimes deadly action is necessary and anyone put in a similar
situation would act the same way. According to the U.S Supreme Court in the 1985 case, Tennessee vs
Garner, police force can only be used when, [the] suspect is a significant threat to officer or others.
Later, in the case of Graham vs. Connor, the Supreme Court ruled that officers who use force must be
judged on the totality of circumstances and a standard of objective reasonableness. Force must be
judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of
hindsight; however, this does not excuse police brutality, and officers must face penalties for taking
someone s life. Cases such as, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Tamir Rice illustrate when police
need to be punished for their actions and be held accountable for violence against citizens. Although
clearly outlined for what would be a just reason for necessary force, many cases that involved police
brutality can be blamed on tactics that relate to broken windows and a need for different policies and
methods. To begin with, many incidents to police brutality occur because of lack of

Cider With Rosie Analysis
Cider with Rosie is an autobiography written by the British author and poet Laurie Lee. The book
portrays Laurie Lee s childhood in the village of Slad. Lee uses vivid description throughout, which
makes the book come alive with characters and tales as if it what he is describing happened just
yesterday and not over a hundred years ago. He portrays a different world than ours today. A world
without cars and electricity, a past that has completely changed out of all recollection.
Autobiography
An autobiography is written by someone about their life and experiences. Cider with Rosie is written
like this. However it is not a conventional autobiography because instead of using chronological order
to tell his story, Laurie Lee has no specific order in the way he recalls his life. Moreover the way Cider
with Rosie is written portrays his life as a novel rather than an autobiography.
There are positives and negatives in writing an autobiography. Positive features are that the reader
gains an insight into the personality and traits of the author and sees the world through their eyes.
However one of the disadvantages to writing in an autobiography style is ... Show more content on

An example of this can be seen in the opening chapter of Cider with Rosie where Laurie Lee s
description of being lost in the grass is that of a young child. It towered above me and all around me,
each blade tattooed with tiger skins of sunlight. It was knife edged, dark, and a wicked green, thick as
a forest and alive with grasshoppers that chirped and chattered and leapt through the air like monkeys.
This shows us how he he sees grass as a danger to him as only a young child would, whereas an older
child or young adult with maturity and experience understands that grass poses no threat at all. It
describes the world through the eyes of a child; unpredictable, frightening, large,

Jeremy Bentham Research Paper
English philosopher, economist, and theoretical judge are only a few words that describe Jeremy
Bentham, but one word that really sums up what he was, utilitarianism. Born in February 1748 in
London, England. His mother was the daughter of a shop clerk and his father and grandfather was well
established lawyer with a small practice, but most of the family s income came from his father s
purchase and selling of land. During his early childhood years, Bentham displayed a remarkable gift
for learning. By the time he was four years of age his father began to teach Bentham Latin and Greek
while sitting on his knee at night. These lessons would prove to be the foundation that Bentham would
build on while attending Westminster school where he accelerated in Latin. ... Show more content on

This is where his love for books and language was accelerated as got older. By the age of seven
Bentham began learning French and reading books by Burnet s Theory of the Earth, Cave s Lives of
the Apostles, Stow s Chronicles, Rapin s History,Gil Blas, Plutarch s Lives, Mandeville s Fable of the
Bees, and Clarissa Harlowe . (Victorian web) In 1760 1764 Bentham was accepted and a resident of
Queens College, Oxford. It took Bentham only four years to achieve his Bachelor of Arts degree
making him one of the youngest to graduate from Queens College at the age of six teen. However, his
graduation was all contingent on him swearing to the 39 articles of the Church of England. Bentham
had a hard time accepting them and faced a moral dilemma. He could not swear to the 39 articles, this
would stop him from receiving his degree or swear to the 39 articles and receive his

  • 2. The Traditional Family In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman Since the postwar era, various groups of people have understood the traditional family form as the key to U.S. political and economic stability, a source of oppression and repression, and an imperiled institution. And although American families have often been portrayed in these various ways, American families have recently been pushing against the norm since WWII. What is this traditional family form being mentioned? At the very least, this traditional family consists of a husband who works to provide for his stay at home wife. This family form could be fulfilled by just about any white heterosexual married couple with enough income to own a house and drive a car. Therefore, if being part of this traditional family form is key to U.S. political and economic stability, does that mean that differing in the slightest will ensure an unsuccessful livelihood? Arthur Miller presents his perspective on this contention in his play Death of a Salesman. The play Death of a Salesman focuses on a fictitious African American family living in Brooklyn, New York. The father of the family, Willy Loman, has been a salesman his whole life, trying to provide for his wife and two sons. Although Willy considers himself to be a successful, popular, and well liked salesman, it is the exact opposite that is true. As Mr. Loman aged, He tried to make himself feel better by living in his world of delusion, by lying to himself and his family; the fact of the matter was that he could no longer ... • 3. Describe the Concept of Jit and Its Relationship to... Just In Time (JIT) is a management philosophy which implements systems or processes which aims to maximise return of investment by maximising production efficiency, improving product quality, reducing manufacturing and logistical costs, and the elimination of waste. JIT, as the name implies, also means bringing the right materials at the right place at the right time. Items must arrive as and when they are needed, neither earlier nor later, but just in time . In its strictest sense, inventory is considered a waste in JIT. In logistics, JIT aims to eliminate waste of all forms; be it time, resources or materials. Although the JIT concept has been applied loosely for years by various organisations, the JIT philosophy we know today can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, the computers delivered were customized according to different customer requirements, without compromising on quality. With JIT, production levels can be easily adjusted to meet demand. Integrated supplier and distributor networks were instrumental in the success of Dell Computers. Without these relationships, Dell would not have been able to support a 50+% growth rate for 3 consecutive years that lead to $12 billion in annual sales by 1997. (Fillard, Frahm, Mercer Scott, n.d.) Although the JIT system managed to revolutionise numerous companies in the way they run their logistics, it is not all a bed of roses for some companies. Since JIT does away with supply inventory, companies are sometimes forced to be over dependent on their JIT suppliers. Sometimes they are at their suppliers mercy. Examples of this can be found at Ford Motor Company and General Motors. Ford faced a problem with one of its suppliers which forced them to shut down six plants which cost them tens of millions of dollars. The supply company for General Motors had a strike, and supplies could not be delivered. Two thirds of their plants had to shut down. This cost GM about $600 million in profits in 1996. (Glenn, T. 2001) For JIT to be efficiently implemented, it is vital for companies to have the right partner suppliers which share the same JIT commitment and drive. Toyota ... There is a story about this called The Boy Who Cried Wolf by B.G. Hennessy where we learn that liars are never trusted. After what happened a few weeks ago my parents won t trust me to go out with friends again. It was an ordinary weekend. I woke up Saturday morning and went to work. After work I could go home and do anything I felt like doing. Around 8 my friend Carlos texted me and asked if I wanted to come over and spend the night. Critical Commentary of Frantz Fanon The issue of reading Fanon today, then, is perhaps not about finding the moment of relevance in Fanon s text that corresponds with the world, but in searching for the moments where Fanon s text and the world do not correspond, and asking how Fanon, the revolutionary, would think and act in the period of retrogression. A complete study of 1968 and its legacies in Europe can not solely deal with events that occurred on the continent. 1968 was, in fact, a global phenomenon ; with ideas perpetrated in Europe reaching as far as Mexico, China, and India, but to name a few . For the first time a black anti colonial activist used a word coined by white French social scientists... in an affirmative manner , arguably more affirmative than anyone had before . The backdrop to the book is the seven yearlong Algerian War of Independence of which Fanon was a great supporter. A lot of the theoretical concepts for dealing with the process of de colonisation that Fanon speaks of in Concerning Violence are his recommendations to the nations of Algeria and Kenya, both of whom were, during 1961 striving to gain independence from France and Britain. Motivated by, what he deemed to be an urgent call for an international redistribution of wealth , Fanon calls for solidarity among the rural masses, which he believes can only be gained through them and by violent means . • 9. Cowside Beck Discharge Analysis Introduction Hillslopes are incredibly important as they cover the vast majority of United Kingdoms (UK) upland landscapes. In sight of this, an aim in this project was to analyse the slope profiles of the valley system around Cowside Beck. Not only do hillslope processes have influence on the formation and aesthetics of UK upland areas, fluvial processes also have high significance, leading another aim in this project to be able to ascertain the discharge of Cowside Beck using the velocity area method. Method We used the velocity area method as discharge is calculated by the product of the cross sectional area of the water and its velocity. The discharge of cowside beck was calculated after the initial data collection. To calculate the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A stratified sampling method was chosen due to the changes in the hillslope profiles being localised in areas over small intervals, this method was efficient and representative of the full range of changes. A limitation of this method is that choosing the sections was subjective, in order to decrease the subjectivity and any bias that may be present, the same person chose the sections each time. Time was one of the main constraints in this enquiry therefore we chose to use the clinometer tape method rather than levelling all the way up the hillslope as it was a much simpler approach and took less time to set up and undertake. In some narrow sections the hillslope had a small angle, being almost flat, an explanation for this is the area of Cowside Beck is a popular tourist destination for walkers so footpaths were present. In some of the sample sections, no evidence of mass movement was observed. However in other areas, mass movement is the key to understanding the shape of the hillslope. Numerous sample sites contained terracettes, which is an explanation for the slope having concavities and convexities in close proximity to each other. These landforms are formed by the mass movement process of soil creep. Soil creep is a very slow process that occurs when the underlying rock becomes saturated and in turn causing the soil to become saturated. Often the hillslope is steep so the soil cannot remain stable and gets thrust away from the slope. The material expands due to processes of freezing, heating and water action and the soil slowly creeps downhill due to gravity. The concentration of the terracettes in the earlier sites nearer to the river can be explained by the water table lying some distance up the hillslope so the river lies below the water table. This causes the soil in this area to become more saturated and heavier hence more soil ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The American girl, as she appears in James early stories and novels is independent, moral, free, innocent, and her attractiveness is either delicate or of a pale and rather asexual kind. In her less refined or serious form, she may be ignorant, brash or simply naïve. She is, of course, as always unmarried. In using the American girl as central to his exploration of the interaction of American and European society, it was not at first in the girl herself that James placed the distinguished American moral consciousness, and when she was endowed Imran Hussain Henry James with moral seriousness the conscious response to its clash with social convention was again, in the early work, usually located in a male onlooker. Gender Aspects Of Gender And Gender Role Development Unfortunately, young girls and boys are given very different ideas of expectations, guidelines and messages about their genders, which cause strain and hierarchies for both genders. When playing, girls are more likely to play with toys that are neutral or considered masculine, and usually not be bullied or negatively judged to a serious extent. Young males experience a very strict set of expectations that if not followed, they receive negative life consequences and negative reinforcement, such as bullying. If a boy chooses activities or actions that are feminine it is punishable by disapproval by peers, family, and society (O Brien et al, 2000). As young as preschool age, boys are more likely to choose toys and activities that are masculine and they begin to exhibit a strict belief in typical boy like gendered behavior. Apart from parents, peer and one s friend group influence a major part in the gender role development throughout all stages of adolescence. Around the age there is often an increase in this behavior. Starting from age five, boys tend to mingle within a crowd, and take part in group activities, whereas, girls prefer solitude or small groups of two or three people (Santrock, 2009). • 25. Little Red Riding Hood And Wolf Comparison Introduction: The Grimm Brothers Little Red Riding Hood (1857), and Roald Dahl s contemporary spin on the well known fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf (1982), both endeavored to shape the meaning of the traditional fairy tale. Although Dahl relies on an audience familiar with the original fable to appreciate his alterations, both texts are aimed towards a target audience of children. Through comparison of the two differing versions, connections will be identified. Similarities and differences in relation to form, purpose and language will be explained; and subsequently, how these similarities and differences impact the target audience. Form: Encapsulating the traditional fairy tale structure, Grimm s tale is presented in the form of a narrative, featuring a clear introduction, plot, and resolution. Grimm preserves the phrase symbolic to traditional fairy tales, once upon a time , introducing the audience to a familiar world of fantasy. The events unfold through a chronological sequence: After that the aged grandmother , Then all three were delighted and Soon afterwards the wolf knocked , followed by informative sentences: the door sprang open, and without saying a word he went straight to the grandmother s bed, and devoured her , complimenting Grimm s formal and instructive intentions, embellishing and providing the audience with a sound understanding. Grimm embraces the use of a third person voice to gain authority of the audience, and sufficiently sculpts each character into their conventional protagonist and antagonist roles: Little Red Riding Hood as a dear little girl and wolf as wicked creature . Dahl offers a significantly different interpretation, transforming the traditional folk tale into a poem. The consistent use of rhyme and rhythm appeals to the audience, allowing smooth transition and flow between sequences. The several stanzas composing the poem feature short sentences which add clarity; eventually compacting at the final plot twist, The small girl smiles. One eyelid flickers , to represent an acceleration in pace and create audience suspension. Dahl also begins his version with the wolf a perspective not usually seen to ensure the audience identifies with the wolf. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Scottsboro Trial In To Kill A Mockingbird Ever since the inception of slavery in the United States, white families have falsely accused black men of rape in order to gain power and demonize their slaves. Rape has been used by white men in order to gain and keep power since the beginnings of their supremacy (Haynes 1). This is true for both actual rape and false rape accusations, as assault takes away a victim s power and a false accusation takes away that of the accused. As such, white families have accused men, specifically black men, of raping the white women in their communities and families for centuries. Almost all of these cases resulted in the death of the defendant, either by lynching (the illegal murder of a marginalized person) or the death penalty. Of these deaths, 66% ... In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee uses the trial of Tom Robinson to showcase how false rape accusations such as the trial of Pleasant, a slave, and the Scottsboro trials were used as power plays by white families against black men. In the case of Tom Robinson, Mayella and Bob Ewell used rape accusations in order to obtain power and control over Tom and the black community of Maycomb, Alabama. Mayella claims that Tom choked and beat her with his left hand and proceeded to rape her until her father returned home. However, Tom s left arm was fully twelve inches shorter than his right, and hung dead at his side (Lee 248). This reveals that her story about him beating her could not have been true. The use of the word dead is an indication that he has no control whatsoever over his hand. As his left hand was useless, Tom could not have caused bruising to the right side of her face. Even after her story was disproven, Tom was found guilty, largely due to the fact that his jury was comprised of white farmers and not of his peers. According to Scout ... In her film, Anatomy of Hell, she indulges in taboos and the society s indifference towards the female sex to shine a light on the traditional and oppressive views of the female body and human sexuality. She explicitly explores the depths of the female s sex and indulges in the men s view of the female body and the feelings it brings about. The film follows a man and a woman in a four day exploration of women s sexuality in a secluded home where the woman is in her most vulnerable stage (nudity) in hopes of understanding how men view women. The film opens up with her in a gay club where she is openly isolated as the only woman and excluded in her otherness. The woman enters this scene and feels overwhelmed by the masculinity surrounding her and the inferiority imposed on her through their immense presence, so she goes to the bathroom where she brushes past a man who actually sees her. Napoleon Bonaparte had a negative impact on France, because he mistreated the rights that every human should obtain, created a bad image for other countries, and only really cared about absolute power. Reasons For Police Brutality As recent incidents of police brutality plague our nation toward minority groups, especially that of African Americans, the question asked by many is if such deadly force necessary, and what other actions could have led to a better outcome? Although our primary thought is to blame police officers for death, we must realize that sometimes deadly action is necessary and anyone put in a similar situation would act the same way. According to the U.S Supreme Court in the 1985 case, Tennessee vs Garner, police force can only be used when, [the] suspect is a significant threat to officer or others. Later, in the case of Graham vs. Connor, the Supreme Court ruled that officers who use force must be judged on the totality of circumstances and a standard of objective reasonableness. Force must be judged from the perspective of a reasonable officer on the scene, rather than with the 20/20 vision of hindsight; however, this does not excuse police brutality, and officers must face penalties for taking someone s life. Cases such as, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, and Tamir Rice illustrate when police need to be punished for their actions and be held accountable for violence against citizens.
