Analysis Of The Storm By Kate Chopin
Kate Chopin in the Storm utilizes imagery in characters to build up the theme of love through the
perspective of sex and infidelity. The short story The Storm by Kate Chopin, manages the theme of
adultery. The story happens in the late 1800s. There are two fundamental characters, the spouse,
Calixta, and the previous significant other, Alcee. The short story, The Storm by Kate Chopinis
about a romantic lovethat would never be until the point when it quickly was. The point that
Chopin was attempting to get crosswise over was that Calixta and Alcee had a solid enthusiasm for
each other, and maybe loved one another, yet they would never have had the chance being in
separte social classes. It is an enthusiastic, yet concise affair between two wedded individuals from
various social classes that happens amid a storm in Louisiana around 1898. All through the story the
consistent changing of symbolism assumes an extraordinary part in the advancement of characters
and their capacity to accomplish the theme.
In spite of the fact that there is a physical in the story, there is likewise a storm of emotions.
Chopin can pass on the behaviors of her characters all through the story in light of the fact that the
storm that happens at the earliest reference point of her story. As the storm approaches Calixta is
home sewing, while spouse Bobinot and child Bibi are out at the store. Bobinot sees the dismal

Vitruvius Impact On Modern Architecture
The film proposal is for a small, artistic, Indie drama film. The movie is directed towards future
architects just like Vitruvius writing. The film would copy the message in De Architectura and tell
about the importance of Architects and what an Architect should know. It would be a movie that
professors require first year architecturestudents to watch. It would be educational and provide an
entertaining way to learn about the impact of architecture on society. 3.
The movie takes place in 12 AD Rome and in 2016 at the University of Cincinnati. 12 AD is a time
that Vitruvius would have been alive and Augustus would have been emperor. It s a time before De
Architectura was completed so that the lessons Vitruvius learns in the modern world could
influence the collection of writing. This will help preserve the modern thoughts on architecture in
classical times and push forth innovation years in advance. This plays on the fact that Vitruvius
writings were conservative at the time and his dislike of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film plays off of this and the plot consists of convincing him to not be so conservative. We
are dependent almost solely on his own writing to know what he was like as a person. The film
takes place only a few years before his death and he is depicted as old and wise. De architectura
had little significance at it s time of writing but with his new understanding on contemporary
architecture it would become very popular and not be lost for hundreds of years like it was. To
modernize the literature I have Vitruvius apply his theories to modern times. The genre of the
original text was not a drama, but anything can be made into a narrative. To do that there is a lot of
other dialogue besides just direct quotes from Vitruvius writing. It would be a boring film to just
watch a series of lectures so there needed to be entertaining elements of time travel, violence,
stealing, competition,

Requirements for a Career as Licensed Funeral Director Essay
Your cell phone rings in the middle of the night and you are notified that you have to go to work.
After hastily getting ready, you find yourself walking down a hallway; you turn into an empty
doorway and enter a dark, cold room that is filled with lifeless bodies waiting to be attended to.
This may be an unfavorable situation to many, but to a funeral director, it is just another day at
work. In order to become a funeral director, one must be genuinely interested, willing to fulfill the
job requirements, be able to cope with deathon a daily basis, and still maintain a positive outlook on
life.
Usually, people take on the profession of becoming a funeral director, or mortician, because of
exposure to a family business or pure interest. An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They must also attain a state license in order to practice what they have studied (Education
Portal. 2014.). Internships are not always paid so one must really love what they are instructed
to do in order to pursue their goals of becoming a mortician. Not many people are willing to work
for free for such an elongated period of time. In New Jersey, funeral directors are also
embalmers. In other states, it may be more common to find that the funeral director and
embalmer are two different people (Park Mustacchio. 2013). Kevin Sinclair, an embalmer of
twenty two years, advocates for a person to have a certain personality in order to become an
embalmer (Bradley.2013). He does this because like everyone may know, it can be traumatic
(Bradley.2013.). Anyone may be want to become a funeral director or an embalmer, but it
requires a lot of emotional stability to deal with many dead bodies that have been distorted
because of an accident. Another mortician humorously said from his past experiences, If you can
be a successful waiter, you can be a successful funeral director (Giang. 2013.). The comparison
between the two occupations may open one s eyes to a different kind of perspective. For example,
a waiter would be accustomed to a pizza being placed in an oven just as a funeral director would be
accustomed to a corpse being placed in a crematory to be cremated. Dealing with death, more so
cadavers, takes a large amount of self discipline and

Hunger World Hunger
World hunger has become an increasing problem within society. Globally, one in nine people in
the world today (795 million) are undernourished. (United Nations) Many individuals, especially
those in developing countries are restricted from being able access food. This could be due to
various reasons such as: poverty, distribution, inequality etc. As a result of unjust starvation, it is
estimated that 3.1 million children die annually from hunger. In 2011 poor nutrition caused forty
five percent of children under the age of five to die. (World hunger facts) Hunger is described in
the dictionary as a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by a lack of food. Hunger and
starvation has the potential to be diminished according to OXFAM Canada which reports that there
is enough food to feed the world population. Due to the suffering and death of many hunger
victims, a plea to find a cure to world hunger is strong. Focusing on the solutions to the global food
crisis is critical for the survival of human beings.
Returning to agriculture s roots has potential to support the alleviation of unnecessary starvation
within the world. Modern practices of farming are often quite different than they were one
hundred years ago. Modernly, many farmers use fertilizers and pesticides on their crops as
protection from harmful insects and plant diseases. However, fueling one s body with vegetation
that is covered in toxic chemicals is harmful? Joseph Mercola, a physician who specializes in

The Memoirs of Abbot Guibert of Nogent Essay
The Memoirs of Abbot Guibert of Nogent
When thinking about a medieval monastery the first thing that comes to mind is the origin of the
word monastery which comes from the Greek monos, meaning alone. Monasticism in itself is a
way of life that is devoted to God in seclusion. A large part of monasticism is isolation, not only
from the neighbors but from family. When taking the vows to be a monk one not only completely
devotes ones life to God but all friends, family and earthly possessions are left behind. Taking the
vows of monasticism takes brutal dedication and severe strength. What pushed Guibert of Nogent
into monasticism is that his mother withdrew from the world after his father s death. During that
time he was left alone and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When monasteries first started to appear during the third and fourth centuries it was far more
somber and focused towards the hermit form of life. During the eleventh and twelfth centuries
monasteries became more community focused and more socially drawn. Guibert chose monastic
life because how communal it had been reformed during the Middle Ages. During his run as abbot
Guibert became involved inn all aspects of his community surrounding his monastery. On his
affairs, he says, We see him involved in ecclesiastical affairs, attending courts of the bishop of
Laon and larger councils, and at one time traveling to Langres to see the pope Living in
monastery no longer meant that he would live life alone and without peers. As an abbot he was
able to gain so superiority which Guibert sought. Additionally, he states that he had always wanted
to be an abbot: ...A person well fitted for worldly success with moderately good birth, both my
own heart and some of my associates evilly suggested to me that it would be proper for me to
advance in this world by promotion to some office. He was giving the opportunity to become a
member of the community because of the smaller amount of communal restrictions put on monks.
This was unheard of during the begging of monasticism where there was strict isolation. A hermit
would never even consider traveling or taking part in any community council. Guibert was very
keen on being involved in the community surrounding his

Major Worldviews
It s really cool to know from you! I m really happy that you are doing well in College and that you

Maggie Dee Character Analysis
Question 5: Some characteristics of each character that review them in good and bad terms can
be symbolically expressed in many ways. For example, Mama is a hard working women that has
seen a lot of hardship in her life that truly reflects on what she knows and how she uses that
knowledge to pass on to her children. This ideacan be expressed from the book stating that Maggie
knows how to quilt, which was taught to her by Mama and her parents or Maggie s grandparents.
Mama also shows how hardship can lead to good things because they are grateful for the nice things
they have in their lowly modified and financed home. Some disadvantage traits that Mama has is

that she wants to use them for decorative hangings I her new life. Dee also tells Maggie and
Mama that she isn t truly showing the heritage that needs to be shown from the quilts because she
anticipates that Maggie will surely use them for everyday use. The quilts are very important to
Maggie as well because she is the second daughter in the family who doesn t have the direct
choice on what should happen to the quilts because she is younger and has a great respect for her
sister Dee. The quilts represent value to Maggie in terms of enjoyment because she can use these
to know that she is still an important figure in the family even though Dee almost gets everything
she wants from Mama and others around her. Even if Maggie uses the quilts for everyday use, she
can still have that feeling of respect from her mother. In the book, this happiness can be proven
from the time Maggie actually smiles after Mama sticks up for Maggie and tells Dee that she can t
have those two important quilts.
Question 7: Mama makes the choice to give the quilts to Maggie for two main reasons. The first
reason is because Dee has already asked to take some very important items from the house that
Maggie couldn t express her feeling on and Mama thinks that Dee, a grown women, should be able

Chausie Cat Research Papers
What Is Chausie Cat?
There is a record of the first hybrid cat in 1990, the crosses of a jungle cat and a domestic cat, but
the beginning of the breeding was much later when the breeders began to work together for this
race to flourish, after much effort.
This breed was generated due to people s desire to have wild cats from the jungle as pets in a
legal way, crossing domestic cats with jungle cats (Felis chaus) from the Middle East. In the year
1960 the Chausies began to be created. The International Cat Association (TICA) gave the status of
registration in 1995 to this breed. Then, he got the status of new race in 2003 to finally get the
championship status from May 1st, 2013.

Gender Equality During the Renaissance Essay
The Renaissance was simply the green end of one of civilization s hardest winters (Robert 10). In
other words, catastrophic events swept through Europe such as the black plague, warfare, and
starvation causing a high population of death rates. After an era of destitution, the Renaissance was
a period of rebirth where individuals could express their intellectual thought through art, science,
literature, and education. It s true that people during that time express humanist ideals of individual
achievement, but does the word individual contribute to both men and women (Ramirez 439)? As a

Her husband legally owns all her assets such as her dowry, her property, and wedding finery
(Suite101 1). Once married the wife is obliged to carry the line of her husband by producing
children. A womanmust give birth to several children because during that time only a few
children would survive into adulthood. If a woman has children and her husband dies, she
would lack a male support in her life. Thus, she would be financially unstable and live a life as a
widow (Suite101 2). In a marriage the job of a husband is to provide dominance in a family and
to rule or govern his wife in all duties that properly belong to marriage (Camden 112). The
husband must provide and care for his wife, but at the same time he must also be in control. In
general, women are always under a male power. During childhood she is controlled by her father
and after marriage, she submits herself to her husband (Zuber 1). Even in the topic of marriage,
women are inferior to men because they live a life of submission and they are seen as items for
their husband in order to bear children.
Financially the husband manages the assets of his wife and he is usually the breadwinner or the

A Brief Note On Sclerosis And Its Effects
June 13, 1939 could be considered a historic day in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) history.
On June 13, 1939, society renamed ALS for one of ALS s most famous victims of the time, Lou
Gehrig. Before the dawn of the internet, Gehrig s diagnosis and story was made public due to
his fame. Today, aided by internet, people have the ability to tell their story regardless of social
status. On March 28, 2012, April Moundzouris (n/d) was diagnosed with ALS. In an effort to raise
awareness, Moundzouris wants to share her blog, the ALS Express. In a humanitarian effort,
Moundzouris hopes to spread awareness about ALS and its encompassing effects. Moreover, she
would like the blog to act as a resource for the newly diagnosed and their caregivers. Moundzouris s
blog can be examined through theoretical frameworks for illness. Subsequently, the study of her
entries reveals patterns. Through examination of Moundzouris s blog, it is seen that she is moving
through Suchman s 5 Stages of Illness. The first two stages, Symptom Recognition and Assumption
of the Sick Role, are illustrated in Moundzouris s My Diagnosis Experience post. The next stage,
Medical Care Contact, is realized as Moundzouris holds out hope that the doctors may be wrong.
Given the severity of ALS, there are multiple entries confirming Moundzouris s entrance into the
Dependent Patient Role, but in particular, her entrance into a clinical trialstands outs. Unfortunately,
there is no cure for ALS currently, so

The Importance Of Economic Inequality In Indonesia
In the past thirty years, globalization and market openness lead world to a better stage of wealth,
however, it is inevitable that without government intervention this prosperity is concentrated in the
hands of the small elite. The uneven of wealth distribution or the gap between the rich and the poor
called economic inequality. This essay will argue that the government of Indonesia needs to
introduce some policies to reduce economic inequality because economic inequality has no benefit
at all, Indonesia is a democratic country which aims to improve public welfare, and Indonesia, with
the rest of the world, wants to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Economic inequality is commonly translated as income inequality. Based on OECD Factbook
(2011), income inequality is measured as household disposable income in a particular year, consists
of earnings, self employment and capital income and public cash transfers then deduct income taxes
and social security contributions paid by households. The income of the household is attributed to
each of its members, with an adjustment to reflect differences in needs for households of different
sizes (p. 80). Moreover, economic inequality is measured by Gini coefficient, which is based on the
comparison of cumulative proportions of the population against cumulative proportions of income
they receive, and it ranges between 0 in the case of perfect equality and 1 in the case of perfect
inequality. According to Indonesia s Statistics

Night By Elie Wiesel And Maus By Art Spiegelman
Surviving Life from Compassion from Others For most people, survival is just putting food on
the table. In contrast, prisoners in the Holocaust had to worry about even getting food or even
having shelter, like the Holocaust texts Night by Elie Wiesel and Maus by Art Spiegelman show
vivid examples of how advice from others helped them survive. In life and death situations, others
compassion will increase one s chances of survival.
In the novel Night, compassion from the Kapo and the French Woman gives Elie a greater chance
of survival. In the beginning of the novel, people gave compassion to others even while they
were in life and death situations, and this continued throughout the novel. When the French
Woman is gives advice to Elie, the woman says, Bite your lips, little brother . . . Don t cry. Keep
your anger, your hate, for another day, for later. The day will come but not now . . . Wait.
Clench your teeth and wait . . . (53). The French woman is showing Elie compassion by
consoling Elie that all of this pain will bring you to a day that Elie will be thankful for. The
woman is risking her own safety, by giving advice to Elie to help him survive. When they are
beginning the first selection, the Kapo is giving ways to Elie to pass the selection. During the
first selection, the Kapo states, Before you go into the next room, try to move your limbs, give
yourself color. Don t walk slowly, run! Run as if you had the devil at your heels! (71). The Kapo is

The Effect Of Bacterial And Fungal Presence On Bacterial...
Rationale and Background.
To date, the majority of microbiological study of soils have centered on bacterial and fungal
presence in the context of plant mutualism [Figure 2]. Additionally, analyses of microbial
biomass have typically utilized indirect models, such as change in soil carbon levels, as a
measurement of microbial growth dynamics (Holden and Treseder 2014). When emphasizing
ecological roles of microbes as nutrient cyclers, this is a useful methodology. However, it has led
to a void in understanding of viral significance in these systems as well as a lack of detailed
species level identifications of bacterial and viral communities prior to and after fire events. The
few abundance assays completed regarding bacteria in soil indicate that one gram of soil contains
108 to 109 bacteria and 109 to 1010 viruses (Williamson 2005, Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). This
incredibly high number necessitates additional research, if only due to the fact that these organisms
numerically overwhelm the system (Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). It would be irresponsible to
ignore such a significant portion of the environment and attempt to come to ideal land management
practices. It has become clear from even the broad scale respiration and nutrient assays completed
that bacterial and viral communities are not a monolith; in different locations, phylogenetic
community composition varies strongly (Williamson 2005, Goberna et al. 2015, Wang et al. 2015,

The American Imperialism Essay
After the civil war, United States took a turn that led them to solidify as the world power. From the

in Argentina represents to her a terrifying death of the self (Spinks 59), because she feels that she

her identity. She wants to escape her father s violence, be respected, and explore the world but

Megacities In The 19th Century
The term megacities is a term from recent years but the phenomenon of big cities is not new at all.
The first cities in human history were built on the plains of Mesopotamia between 4000 and 3000
BC. Rome was the first city to reach a million inhabitants in about 5 BC. This was two to three
times higher than any other previous city. After Rome, London was in 1800 AD the second city
with a million inhabitants and in the 19th century North America followed (Hall, 2010).
The cities that lasted the longest share some same characteristics. According to archaeological and
historical research, settlements that lasted the longest did not grow the most rapidly or had the
highest standard of living. The inhabitants managed their interactions with the land they lived in
such a way that their technologies did not outstrip the ecosystems on which they drew (Sorensen,
2010). The fastest growing cities in the past often burned out over tiВВВme because they exhausted
the resources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the eighteenth and nineteenth century urban populations grew rapidly through migration from
rural areas to find new jobs in the cities created by the industrial revolution, which led to 6,5 million
inhabitants in London. In the twentieth century cities kept growing and in the 1950 s around thirty
percent of world s population was urban. The first mega city in the world emerged, as New York
City broke the boundary of ten million inhabitants around 1930 (Wendell Cox Consultancy, 2005).
In 1990 there were ten megacities that were home to 153 million people which is less than seven
percent of the global urban population. In 2014 the amount of megacities has almost tripled to 28
with a population of 453 million people, which account for twelve percent of the global urban
population. The total urban population in 2014 was 54 percent (UN, 2014). These numbers can be

What Is The Trope Of Madness In Oedipus Rex And...
Madness is used as a literary device in order to introduce chaos and excitement. However, below
the surface there is a warning, no one is safe from their own mind or fears. What is madness after
all but just the absence of social norms and social conventions? So how can madness be
characterized. What causes madness? Madness is when a person abandons society s most basic
rules and expectations and becomes a raw uncivilized thing. A mad person has not only abandoned
civilization but also the rational mind which is cultivated by civilization. Madness defined simply
is a deviation of the established norm. The results of abandoning civilization and accepting madness
are tragedy, suffering, and loss. Literature often uses the trope of madness to illustrate the
consequences when one goes again society and abandons reason. Two excellent examples of the
tragic affliction that is madness are SophoclesOedipusRex and Shakespeare s King Lear. Madness is
the rejection of society s rules and moral obligations.
An excellent example of madness is Sophocles play Oedipus Rex. Oedipus madness comes to
fruition after he learns that the prophecy about him stating that he would kill his father and marry
his mother has come to pass. Oedipus has committed a heinous act he has broken two of his own
society s laws, laws he had sworn to uphold and enforce. He murdered the previous King of
Thebes his father and married that king s wife his own mother. Oedipus realizing what he has done

To What Extent Have Constitutional Reforms Since 1997 Made...
To what extent have constitutional reforms introduced since 1997 made the UK more democratic?
Constitutional reform is a process whereby the fundamental nature of the system of government is
changed or where a change is proposed. In the UK this may also involve the process of
codification. Since 1997 there has been many key reforms that have made UK more democratic by
a large amount and sometimes not so much if at all.
Firstly the House of Lords reform where the voting rights of most hereditary peers was abolished.
This makes the UK less undemocratic rather then more democratic. This is due to the fact that the
House of Lords as a whole is an unelected chamber and therefore undemocratic, however by
removing the voting rights of some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reforms of Devolution where power was transferred from Westminster to different elected
bodies around the country. This makes the UK more democratic as power is no longer
centralised and areas such as parts of Scotland, Wales and Ireland will not be neglected. However
England itself does not have its own assembly and the fact that we cannot vote on certain things in
areas of the UK, but everyone can vote in policies in England could be seen to be undemocratic.
Overall this reform however has made the UK more democratic as it means areas will not be
forgotten about and countries and areas within the UK can get specific things that that area may
want or need more then others.
The Human rights act in 1998 where the UK included the European convention of Human Rights
into British Law. This reform could be seen to be very undemocratic as it means we have taken
up laws that are not are own and a power that we have not elected has technically come up with
certain laws within Britain. However it also means that it gives everyone the same rights and more
freedoms meaning that in turn we as a country should become more democratic.I think this does
make us more democratic as it does prevent our government abusing its power and mistreating
citizens and prevent the possibility of an elected dictatorship As a higher power can step in.
Overall I think reforms since 1997 have made the UK slightly more democratic but not to a huge
extent.

Higher Education Marketing Mix
CHAPTER 3
MARKETING S ROLE IN HIGHER EDUCATION
3.1
INTRODUCTION
Chapter 2 introduced some of the major changes and trends that have taken place in the higher
education environment both internationally and locally. Although higher education institutions can
be classified as non profit organisations, the challenges discussed in Chapter 2 necessitate higher
education institutions to take on the organisation like behaviour of profit organisations and to
become more marketingoriented. An understanding of the environment in which higher education
institutions operate, provides an essential background against which to understand and assess the
benefits of focusing on students as customers. If higher education institutions understand the ...

markets by using the tools of marketing: service product, place, price, promotion, process, people
and physical evidence.
Marketing s greater contribution lies in its ability to facilitate the exchange process that takes place
between the non profit organisation such as the higher education institution, and each of the
customer groups it addresses (Sargeant, 2005:295).
Marketing can provide a detailed understanding of the needs of such customers and ensure that the
institution addresses these needs in as efficient and comprehensive manner as possible. This
understanding of customers needs can aid organisations in creating and sustaining a competitive
advantage. Lynch and Baines (2004:171) found that higher education institutions sustainable
competitive advantages are usually based on superior knowledge, reputation, innovation or
architectural related advantages. However, marketing is not stagnant and over the years the
marketing activities of organisations have changed. Kolter (2003) and Strydom, Jooste and Cant
(2000:10) identify four stages that strongly influence the evolution of organisations marketing
activities. These stages are referred to as production, sales, marketing and societal marketing. The

1900 s Russia Research Paper
In the 1900 s Russia was a world superpower. But the only port, Port Vladivostok, was only
accessible in the summer seasons of Russia. But Japan s fort, Fort Arthur, was open all year long.
Russia, who looking to expand out farther, asked Japan if they could use Fort Arthur for their Navy,
and maritime trades. Russiaeven went as far as to set up a neutral buffer zone in North Koreaon the
39th parallel to negotiate. Japan however misunderstood this and took it as a threat, bombing their

Japan was a little country of the east coast of china. This tiny country had been and isolationist
country for a long time, and was in fear that the much larger country of Russia, A well known
expansionist country, would over take them and eradicate their small and dying culture. Japan, not

Vladimir Putin s Plea For Ethos
Plea for Ethos: Vladimir Putin You re either with us or against us. This statement was made by
Russian President Vladimir Putin in his op ed piece, A Plea for Caution from Russia printed in The
New York Times on September 11, 2013, as he discussed American foreign policy. President Putin
tries to establish he is with us , through ethos in this address to the American public. Over time
ethos, the ethical appeal, has come to be measured by four characteristics. It is by these measures:
trustworthiness, similarity, authority, and reputation, that Putin will be weighed to determine if the
audience will accept his ethos. Is Vladimir Putintrustworthy? Trust is important when trying to
reach an audience as people are more likely to listen to people they trust. Putin tries hard to
establish this trust. He even mentions the growing trust between him and the American President as
support he is trustworthy. This comes across as disingenuous as his words throughout the article
seem to drip with veiled threats that failure to back him could lead to him not backing an
American agenda. His actions themselves often appear to be in contradiction to what he asks of
America. The title of his article pleads... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Introduction Guaranteeing client satisfaction is the objective of online merchants, however few
vendors can promise that clients will be completely fulfilled by every buy. It can be sensibly
accepted that fulfillment prompts repurchase practices. Likewise, disappointment is one of the
components that prompt clients diminished repurchase aims. On the other hand, clients frequently
choose to leave a supplier in view of deficient reactions instead of for the disappointing issue itself.
In a light of the presumption that clients often complain before they leave suppliers, administration
recuperation and protest administration endeavors are utilized as the primary strategies for holding

False Killer Dolphins
According to Vancouver Aquarium, the false killer whale was first discovered as a skeleton, not as
a live dolphin. Because its skull looks similar to a killer whale s skull scientists called it a false
killer whale (Pseudorca).
Despite having whale in its name, the false killer whale is actually a large dolphin like its
namesake the killer whale . The difference between a whale and a dolphin is much like the
difference between a ship and a boat . It has more to do with size than science. In fact, false killer
whales are large dolphins. They prefer tropical to temperate waters that are deeper than 3,300 feet
(1000m) and occur in the U.S. in Hawaii, along the entire West Coast, and from the Mid Atlantic
coastal states south. The species can also be found in all tropical and temperate oceans

A Long Day s Journey Into Night And Birdman
Virtuous Ignorance? A Comparison of A Long Day s Journey Into Night and Birdman In the art
of storytelling, the artist tends to rely on a specific pattern of story development. This pattern, as
we have seen in the numerous literary examples that we have read so far, naturally conforms to a
rigid framework one that we, as humans, repeatedly desire. This framework was described by Dan
Harmon as the story circle , and mirrors the cyclical nature of our conscious perceptive capabilities,
as well as our understanding of the universe surrounding us. The story circle identifies (from the
perspective of the character or characters we primarily identify with) a submersion and re

In the play A Long Day s Journey Into Night, the crossing of the threshold takes place as the
family strives to be whole. The pursuit of harmony captivates and empowers each member of
the Tyrone family, and the hope of true happiness drives them. Whether through the use of
forced optimism, blissful ignorance, or denial, the words and actions of the family are intended
to lift the fog of a broken past and enter into a new era of trust, support, and overall positivity.
Evidence of a broken, almost irredeemable past is made readily available to the reader, and one
gets the sense that despite all reason to doubt the intentions of the other, each of the Tyrones has
completely crossed into an attempted realm of newfound hope. As their past continually rears its
powerful and conspicuous head, a philosophical battle between existentialism and nihilism
continually fuels the crossing. James bashes his eldest son for his growing doubt of the success
of this new covenant, stating By God, how you can live with a mind that sees nothing but the
worst motives behind everything is beyond me! (O Neil 39). Likewise, Mary, in denial of the
severity of her youngest boy s illness, and Edmund, maintaining ignorance so as to maintain the
illusion of the possibility of wholeness, display their desperation in the following: You mustn t
cough like that. It s bad for your throat. You don t want to get a sore throat on top of your cold...his

Essay about The Collected Poems of WB Yeats
Yeats, B. William. The Collected Poems of WB Yeats. New York: Macmillan, 1996. 318 The
importance of this book is that it contains some of the works of poetry which were carried out by
William Yeats. Arguably, the most salient feature in the book is the attempt at portraying the shift
that characterized Yeats in his work, so that his works are arranged almost chronologically to
underscore this standpoint. Works that depict him as a bard of the Celtic Twilight, reviving
Rosicrucian symbols and legends are the most frontal. These are followed up by works which
show the shift away from plush romanticism. The same are exhibited by the heavy presence of
incantatory rhythms such as I will arise and go... and go to Innisfree . The same is seen... Show

New York: WW Norton and Company, 1975. This poem was published in 1927 and comes out
as a form of meditation. The poem is rich in its scope as it covers sundry topics ranging from
children, to human behavior, life in the 20th century, the philosophy on life and life after death,
among others. This poem is an eight lined stanza which is heavily laden with rhymes and the use
of prosaic language. The poem has been written within the context of a visitor who has walked
into a classroom under the guidance of a kind elderly nun. The importance of this poem to this
reading is that in it, the poet addresses the dynamism that has shaped and continues to shape the
civil society, progress and modernity, as opposed to the status quo ante which predated the Civil
War or the Anglo Irish War. The importance of this poem to this reading is also seen in the fact
that it betrays the political ideals that Yeats had: the poem implicates the speaker as being a
senator. It is in after 1924 that Yeats served as a senator. This makes the poem sound like a poem
which was penned down after the civil war, given that it is written from the standpoint of a more
peaceful and politically stable Ireland. Thus, the poem is also instrumental as it lets the reader in
into Yeats political orientation and leanings. Thus, the many qualities Yeats had and the many
fields he operated in, in terms of career are well confirmed by this poem. The

Juxtaposition In The Destructors
There are two types of fiction, literary and commercial. Because the former is more intricate, the
literary approach is often taken while writing meaningful short fiction meant to convey a deeper
truth. Therefore, in order for a short story to be thought provoking, it must be of the literary variety,
which contains complex structure, round characters, and themes that are evident through symbolic
elements within the story. This can best be shown through the juxtaposition and comparison of the
commercial story, The Most Dangerous Game, against the literary story, The Destructors.
Something that is able to generate thought in the mind of the reader is effective characterization,

Therefore, a symbolic structure is necessary in creating an atmosphere of thought inside the
reader, as it will allow for deeper analytical exploration of the story as a whole. The structure of a
story can act as a symbol and provide a portrayal of the plot, as seen prominently within The
Destructors, since the story is formatted in an interesting way that works to parallel the events
occurring. The structure is interesting, as there are four sections, all with little or no transition
between them. Important information about the context of the time of day is purposely left out by
Greene, the author, to symbolize the disjointedness of the boys lives. This is shown explicitly in
the transition, or lack thereof, from section one to two. Section two begins after a conversation
between the boys has ended, and section 1 skips to the beginning of the next day. Here, the
structure purposely caused the reader to jump ahead in time and miss the events that take place in
between the omitted periods of time. The reader does not get to know what is occurring there. By
generating the feeling of missed time, the structure acts to symbolize the literal discombobulation
within the boys lives, and how the Blitz stripped them of their previous sense of normality in day to
day life. The disconnectedness of the formation of the story mirrors the physical acts of destruction
depicted in the story, since the structure itself is unruly. When the reader compares this story to the
commercial story The Most Dangerous Game, it is apparent that it is more thought out, as the
structure of The Most Dangerous Game is ordinary, and does not convey any larger meaning about
the story as a whole. It contains dialogue and description, however this is to further the plot instead
of illustrating other intricate ideas.

My Passion For Running Research Paper
If you re looking for the perfect running partner, look no further than your dog. Your loyal

excitement in their face as you get ready for a run is a great motivator, and can provide you with

Dogs know how to be a better runner, and it s pretty simple. Run until you don t want to run
anymore. Then rest until you want to run again. This is something that is easily overlooked, and
turn many people away from running. Don t feel obligated to run, to get a certain amount of
mileage in each week. Recovery can play as big a part in running gains as actual running does. Don

from these benefits that were provided with The Declaration of The Rights of Man. Along with that
there were also some religious differences within beliefs of others. Rights took a bewildering role
during the French Revolutionbecause when it came to the matter of freedom, the rights that were
given at the time would contradict their statements with many minority groups. During the first
year of the of the French Revolution, August 1789 and September 1790, the National Assembly

Dicksion Summary
Natural forms of chimerism can also cause issues in paternity and maternity testing for
unintentionally omitted children of a will. Consider In Re Estate of Dicksion, an Oklahoma
Supreme Court case that dealt with this exact issue. In Dicksion, Thomas Powell, an alleged son of
the decedent born out of wedlock, argued that he was a pretermitted son of the deceased. To support
this contention, Powell presented a posthumous paternity test of the decedent showing parentage.
The trial court admitted the DNA test but another heir of the decedent challenged whether a
posthumous DNA test could be used in probate proceedings. The Supreme Court determined that
posthumous paternity tests were admissible in probate proceedings, holding it is illogical

Farmer Saw The Wolf
English syntax makes it a more analytic as opposed to Japanese where word order is not so
important as the affixes of words so reordering of a sentence can still have the same meaning
even if they sound funny unlike in English where word order is the de facto method of easy
communication (Freeman Freeman, 2014, p. 194). In Finnegan (2015), the sentence: The
farmer saw the wolf is used to show how word order can explain why syntax is so important in
English; English is an SVO language or a language that predetermines where words go in a
sentence for the purpose of clear meaning, SVO stands for Subject Verb Object, whereas many
languages can be SVO or even VOS or VSO, with the knowledge that S, V, and O always stand
for Subject, Verb, and Object (Language: its structure and use, p. 57). Latin in the sentence
mentioned in the prior sentence would be able to switch the SVO around to almost any order;
Spanish is in the language family of Latin and so The farmer saw the wolf can be said as El
granjero vio al lobo , SVO, or Al lobo el granjero vio , OSV, or Vio al lobo, el granjero , VOS
(Finegan, 2015, p. 57). Furthermore, it is apparent that English syntax, or the study of sentence
structures is synonymous with much of the study of English grammar; Syntax in a reductive
explanation is the study of sentence structure (Finegan, 2015, p. 178). In chapter 1 of Curzan
(2003), theoretically, the evolution of English has eliminated its use of grammatical genderand this

Traditional and Nontraditional Forms of Litigation
Traditional and Nontraditional Forms of Litigation In every business of today, every business and
organization needs legal assistance. Yet, the types of legal assistance might not always be the same,
depending on the individual industry and situational analysis of the business in question. This is a
comparison of traditional and nontraditional litigation services that are often used by contemporary
businesses, with special attention paid to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). First, to
understand the newer, nontraditional forms of litigation it is imperative to set up a sound
foundation for understanding the more traditional forms of litigation. Essentially, traditional
litigation is the process of going to court to handle disputes of both business and civil matters. As
such, litigation is the traditional process, whereby both parties use the court system and procedures
to resolve their dispute (Lewis, 2012). Here, legal advice and representation is provided by lawyers
who act on behalf of the parties involved in the dispute. In this traditional form, the parties can not
talk to each other at all during the context of the dispute process. In contrast to the more traditional
styles of litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is much different. Essentially, this more
alternative style to approaching litigation needs aims to resolve disputes before they have to
actually go through the expensive and complicated process of litigation. Here the research claims

Global Politics
14 March 2016
Current Events Report Wednesday, January 6, 2016, North Korea made an announcement that their
hydrogen bomb testing was successful, resulting in raised cries of indignation from the
international community . In the past the U.N had implemented sanctions against North Korea for
continuing their development in nuclear weapons in 2006, 2009, 2013. Yet despite this, on
Monday March 14, 2016, DPRK Today reported that a fifth test would be run and a new test
involving ballistic missiles would also be included. Mr. Jongun had explained that the reason his

. . to reshuffle party officials, bolster his grip on power and present significant new state policies.
Although the young leader has stated that the Byungjin line (a program intended not only to boost
the country s economy but also to expands its nuclear weapons), does have at its core the people s
interest as a priority, the numbers are showing that only a small amount of North Korean citizens
are benefitting. Kim Jongun, has mentioned before that he wants the world to look up to his strong
country as a nuclear power, rather than just a mere country with multiple sanctions shouting big
words. This in the past has led to various consequences from hegemonies all around the world who
feel threatened by the implications of a young tyrant in charge of ICBMs. This is a clear example
of the security dilemma in which the entire world, the anarchy that it is, has to control minor
nations that strive for hegemony at the expense of the larger nations security and loss of leverage.
Unfortunately, it seems that despite the clear warnings from the superior nations, the North Korean
dictator has no interest in abiding by international rules and is far more fascinated with realist
ideologies of projections of power.

Running head: CHILDREN WHO KILL Jon Venables and Robert Thompson: Children who kill
Letia Bland Tiffin University Assignment #1 Dr. Joyce Hall Yates The Juvenile justice system
has changed over the years. Before the first establishment of this system, courts and judges
treated juveniles as adults and sometimes received the same punishment as adults. For many
years, there were debates on if children before the age of 21 were responsible for their actions
seeing as they aren t fully capable of understanding their actions. This murder of Jamie Bulger
created an uproar all over the world on children at such a young age know right from wrong and

Once she had noticed the boy she quickly called the police and the two boys were arrested for
questioning. The simple fact that the boys were so young came as a shock to the investigators
of the case. Forensic tests had made it definite that both boys had the same blue paint on their
clothing as the same paint that was found on Bulger s body. Both boys, Thompson and Venables
also had blood on their shoes which matched Bulger s DNA. The boys were charged with Bulger
s murder on February 20, 1993 and remained in custody until the trial. After the arrest, and
throughout the trial, the boys were referred to as Child A and Child B. At the end of the whole
trial, the judge released the two boy s names since the nature of the crime was severe and also
the public s reaction to the whole case. They were identified and also came along with descriptive
detail about the lives of the two boys and also their backgrounds. The release of the boy s mug
shots shocked the public because of the ages of Thompson and Venables. During the trial there were
debates on how both children were not in control of their actions which meant that they couldn t be
held responsible for their actions. Many psychiatrists had tried to find the reason that made the two
boys create such a horrific crime. One forensic psychiatrist stated that examining

And here lies the problem. With inflammation, doctors often prescribe anti inflammatory
medications like non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
The consequences of using NSAIDs for inflamation
No one should ever use NSAIDs long term. Long term use, places you at risk for stomach ulcers,
and severe hemorrhaging. NSAIDs may also worsen asthma and cause heart disease and kidney
damage. Last year the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) strengthened an existing
warning on prescription drug labels and over the counter drug fact labels. NSAIDs can increase
the chance of a heart attack or stroke, both of which can lead to death says the FDA. And worse,
those serious side effects can occur as early as the first few weeks of using an NSAID.
That s where smoothies come in
To reduce your overall amount of chronic inflammation, instead of NSAIDs, try to limit foods that
cause inflammation. The Arthritis Foundation suggests removing or at least limiting the following
foods from your diet to help fight inflammation: Sugar, unhealthy saturated fats like those found in
fast food, processed foods trans fats, Omega 6 fatty acids, refined carbs, mono sodium glutamate

The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act Essay
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare, was
passed in June of 2010 by the Supreme Court (Doyle 1). Georges C. Benjamin, MD, the executive
director of the Public Health Association says:
The new law will guarantee millions of Americans access to quality, affordable care regardless of
health status; decrease rates of the nation s leading chronic diseases; control soaring health
spending; and strengthen our battered public health infrastructure... Health reform and its historic
investment in prevention will help us achieve the promise we made to give our children a higher

With the new act, insurance companies are no longer able to deny coverage to anyone based on
their history of illnesses, current mental health illnesses, or potential future development of an
illness. Along with coverage of pre existing conditions and prohibiting insurance companies to
cancel coverage if a person becomes ill, the act is the first act in history that ensures that mental
health and substance abuse treatment services are required benefits in all basic health insurance
packages providing health for a much wider range of people (ProCon.org). The Patient Protection
and Affordable Care Act prohibits all health plans, including grandfathered plans, from rescinding
a health insurance policy once one is covered (ProCon.org). The only possible reason for a health
insurance policy to rescind ones coverage is if the enrollee has committed fraud or made an
intentional misrepresentation of material fact (ProCon.org). The universal coverage by this new act
is a major benefit in the structure of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. When
determining if the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is beneficial for America or not, it
is important to look at both sides of the argument. There are many positives that provide a strong
argument supporting the bill. When the bill was initially proposed, President Obama assured
Americans that, if they so choose, they would be able to keep their same doctor and

Similarities Between Game Of Roses And War Of The Roses
A Marriage between Roses and Thrones
A marriage is usually perceived as two people in love and bind themselves together with an
unbreakable bond. However, in the medieval age, political marriages were more often than a
love between couples. Both the Wars of the Roses and HBO s Game of Thrones, political
marriages occur in order to lead to personal gain and conduct strategic planning for one s
kingdom. In HBO s Game of Thrones, a scene from season 3, episode 5 shows Tywin, Tyrion, and
Cersei discussing marriages in a manner which exemplifies the significance of political marriages
compared to the Wars of the Roses, between Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI, especially through
close up shots, lighting, and sound. When watching the fifth episode of season 3 of Game of
Thrones, Tyrion, Tywin, and Cersei discuss how they can use marriages so the Lannisters can
secure the North and it can be done if Tyrion marries Sansa Stark. This is comparable to
Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI. Margaret of Anjou marries Henry VI and thus as stated in The
War of the Roses, Marrying Henry to the French king s niece seemed to serve two greater
purposes: it would bring England a diplomatic and military truce in the French wars and it would
enable Henry and Margaret to rebuild the dwindling stock of the English royal family. (Jones 84).
As seen, the two of them getting married would give them exactly what they need to get a truce
between the two countries and kings. Similarly, if Tyrion were to

Thomas Reflection

Bible 10

Thomas
I can relate to Thomas because of these four ways. Thomas was doubtful and worked hard at finding
out the truth. He helped out others believe in Jesus even though they have never seen Him. He
taught about Jesus to others. And he struggled a lot throughout his life with Jesus.
Thomas doubted and so he worked hard at finding out the truth. He always doubted because of his
faith, he wanted to see with his own eyes instead of believing what he wanted to see. For
example when Jesus was crucified on the cross he was speared in the chest and nailed to the
cross from his wrists. When Jesus was resurrected He visited the group of disciples but Thomas
wasn t with the group at the time. So when Thomas came to them they told him about the good
news but he didn t believe them unless he saw and felt Jesus wounds in his wrists and chest.
Jesus then invited Thomas to see Him so he did and Thomas felt his wounds and believed. The way
I work hard is my schedule; I have to wake up go to swim practice from 5:00 to 7:00. Then I have
to go to school for six hours and do a lot of assignments for each class. After each class they assign
homework which usually takes another two hours after school. Then I have to go to swim
practice again for another two hours. When I m finished with practice I have to go eat dinner,
then I go home around 8:00 8:30. I have to do my homework which takes forever and go to bed
late and wake up early the next morning for practice. It s hard to do mostly because of the
amount of school work we have. When I have to wake up for practice it makes it even harder
because I put in all my effort and end up tired before school and makes it harder to concentrate.
Then after school I have to practice really hard again, and by the time I get home I m exhausted
and just want to go to sleep, but I have to stay up and do a lot of homework. I keep doubting that
I won t be able to get my work done on time or work hard at practice. I just try to do my best at
either my school work or swimming no matter what.
Thomas was an inquisitive man. Thomas curious mind led him to doubt God s work in the world,
but also led him to discover answers to his questions, which led him to

Reflection About Hunting
Hunting has dated back to ancient times when there were massive sheets of ice covering the
planet, and yet, all of the evolving the human race has done, it is still a crucial part of some
people s everyday life. It has been a family tradition for dads to take their sons into the woods,
and teach them the ways of stalking your prey, and finally killing it. On my eighth birthday, I
woke up to my dad dressed in a camouflage top holding onto a bowand arrowand a massive white
target standing at his feet. His first words were we are going to have fun today . I instantly thought
that that day I was going to be killing my first animal, but to my dismay, it turned out that blood
was not shed for three years.
I loved that bow and arrow, and I can remember everyday after school I would go to the garage
and shoot that bow to the point where I couldn t manage to draw it back. After about month, I
had lost hope in killing anything with that bow because I was not able to shoot it straight. There
was a time that I was shooting in the garage at a target, and the arrow slipped out of my hand,
and it had managed to hit a bottle of lighter fluid. Granted I there was not enough force behind the
arrow to push it the entire way through the can, but it was enough to spill the lighter fluid all over
my foam target. I was no longer to use my bow and arrow unsupervised.
Years later, my dad decided to take me to the gun range. He had brought the gun that his father had
taught him how to shoot

There are two fundamental characters, the spouse, Calixta, and the previous significant other, Alcee. The short story, The Storm by Kate Chopinis about a romantic lovethat would never be until the point when it quickly was. The point that Chopin was attempting to get crosswise over was that Calixta and Alcee had a solid enthusiasm for each other, and maybe loved one another, yet they would never have had the chance being in separte social classes. It is an enthusiastic, yet concise affair between two wedded individuals from various social classes that happens amid a storm in Louisiana around 1898. All through the story the consistent changing of symbolism assumes an extraordinary part in the advancement of characters and their capacity to accomplish the theme. In spite of the fact that there is a physical in the story, there is likewise a storm of emotions. • 5. Vitruvius Impact On Modern Architecture The film proposal is for a small, artistic, Indie drama film. The movie is directed towards future architects just like Vitruvius writing. The film would copy the message in De Architectura and tell about the importance of Architects and what an Architect should know. It would be a movie that professors require first year architecturestudents to watch. It would be educational and provide an entertaining way to learn about the impact of architecture on society. 3. The movie takes place in 12 AD Rome and in 2016 at the University of Cincinnati. 12 AD is a time that Vitruvius would have been alive and Augustus would have been emperor. It s a time before De Architectura was completed so that the lessons Vitruvius learns in the modern world could influence the collection of writing. This will help preserve the modern thoughts on architecture in classical times and push forth innovation years in advance. This plays on the fact that Vitruvius writings were conservative at the time and his dislike of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film plays off of this and the plot consists of convincing him to not be so conservative. We are dependent almost solely on his own writing to know what he was like as a person. The film takes place only a few years before his death and he is depicted as old and wise. De architectura had little significance at it s time of writing but with his new understanding on contemporary architecture it would become very popular and not be lost for hundreds of years like it was. To modernize the literature I have Vitruvius apply his theories to modern times. The genre of the original text was not a drama, but anything can be made into a narrative. To do that there is a lot of other dialogue besides just direct quotes from Vitruvius writing. It would be a boring film to just watch a series of lectures so there needed to be entertaining elements of time travel, violence, stealing, competition, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Requirements for a Career as Licensed Funeral Director Essay Your cell phone rings in the middle of the night and you are notified that you have to go to work. After hastily getting ready, you find yourself walking down a hallway; you turn into an empty doorway and enter a dark, cold room that is filled with lifeless bodies waiting to be attended to. This may be an unfavorable situation to many, but to a funeral director, it is just another day at work. In order to become a funeral director, one must be genuinely interested, willing to fulfill the job requirements, be able to cope with deathon a daily basis, and still maintain a positive outlook on life. Usually, people take on the profession of becoming a funeral director, or mortician, because of exposure to a family business or pure interest. An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They must also attain a state license in order to practice what they have studied (Education Portal. 2014.). Internships are not always paid so one must really love what they are instructed to do in order to pursue their goals of becoming a mortician. Not many people are willing to work for free for such an elongated period of time. In New Jersey, funeral directors are also embalmers. In other states, it may be more common to find that the funeral director and embalmer are two different people (Park Mustacchio. 2013). Kevin Sinclair, an embalmer of twenty two years, advocates for a person to have a certain personality in order to become an embalmer (Bradley.2013). He does this because like everyone may know, it can be traumatic (Bradley.2013.). Anyone may be want to become a funeral director or an embalmer, but it requires a lot of emotional stability to deal with many dead bodies that have been distorted because of an accident. Another mortician humorously said from his past experiences, If you can be a successful waiter, you can be a successful funeral director (Giang. 2013.). The comparison between the two occupations may open one s eyes to a different kind of perspective. For example, a waiter would be accustomed to a pizza being placed in an oven just as a funeral director would be accustomed to a corpse being placed in a crematory to be cremated. Dealing with death, more so cadavers, takes a large amount of self discipline and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Hunger World Hunger World hunger has become an increasing problem within society. Globally, one in nine people in the world today (795 million) are undernourished. (United Nations) Many individuals, especially those in developing countries are restricted from being able access food. This could be due to various reasons such as: poverty, distribution, inequality etc. As a result of unjust starvation, it is estimated that 3.1 million children die annually from hunger. In 2011 poor nutrition caused forty five percent of children under the age of five to die. (World hunger facts) Hunger is described in the dictionary as a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by a lack of food. Hunger and starvation has the potential to be diminished according to OXFAM Canada which reports that there is enough food to feed the world population. Due to the suffering and death of many hunger victims, a plea to find a cure to world hunger is strong. Focusing on the solutions to the global food crisis is critical for the survival of human beings. Returning to agriculture s roots has potential to support the alleviation of unnecessary starvation within the world. Modern practices of farming are often quite different than they were one hundred years ago. Modernly, many farmers use fertilizers and pesticides on their crops as protection from harmful insects and plant diseases. However, fueling one s body with vegetation that is covered in toxic chemicals is harmful? Joseph Mercola, a physician who specializes in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Memoirs of Abbot Guibert of Nogent Essay The Memoirs of Abbot Guibert of Nogent When thinking about a medieval monastery the first thing that comes to mind is the origin of the word monastery which comes from the Greek monos, meaning alone. When taking the vows to be a monk one not only completely devotes ones life to God but all friends, family and earthly possessions are left behind. He was giving the opportunity to become a member of the community because of the smaller amount of communal restrictions put on monks. The Importance Of Economic Inequality In Indonesia In the past thirty years, globalization and market openness lead world to a better stage of wealth, however, it is inevitable that without government intervention this prosperity is concentrated in the hands of the small elite. The uneven of wealth distribution or the gap between the rich and the poor called economic inequality. This essay will argue that the government of Indonesia needs to introduce some policies to reduce economic inequality because economic inequality has no benefit at all, Indonesia is a democratic country which aims to improve public welfare, and Indonesia, with the rest of the world, wants to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Economic inequality is commonly translated as income inequality. Based on OECD Factbook (2011), income inequality is measured as household disposable income in a particular year, consists of earnings, self employment and capital income and public cash transfers then deduct income taxes and social security contributions paid by households. The income of the household is attributed to each of its members, with an adjustment to reflect differences in needs for households of different sizes (p. 80). Moreover, economic inequality is measured by Gini coefficient, which is based on the comparison of cumulative proportions of the population against cumulative proportions of income they receive, and it ranges between 0 in the case of perfect equality and 1 in the case of perfect inequality. • 18. The Effect Of Bacterial And Fungal Presence On Bacterial... Rationale and Background. To date, the majority of microbiological study of soils have centered on bacterial and fungal presence in the context of plant mutualism [Figure 2]. Additionally, analyses of microbial biomass have typically utilized indirect models, such as change in soil carbon levels, as a measurement of microbial growth dynamics (Holden and Treseder 2014). When emphasizing ecological roles of microbes as nutrient cyclers, this is a useful methodology. However, it has led to a void in understanding of viral significance in these systems as well as a lack of detailed species level identifications of bacterial and viral communities prior to and after fire events. The few abundance assays completed regarding bacteria in soil indicate that one gram of soil contains 108 to 109 bacteria and 109 to 1010 viruses (Williamson 2005, Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). This incredibly high number necessitates additional research, if only due to the fact that these organisms numerically overwhelm the system (Van Der Heijden et al. 2008). It would be irresponsible to ignore such a significant portion of the environment and attempt to come to ideal land management practices. It has become clear from even the broad scale respiration and nutrient assays completed that bacterial and viral communities are not a monolith; in different locations, phylogenetic community composition varies strongly (Williamson 2005, Goberna et al. 2015, Wang et al. 2015, Tas et al. 2014, Dooley and ... After Rome, London was in 1800 AD the second city with a million inhabitants and in the 19th century North America followed (Hall, 2010). The cities that lasted the longest share some same characteristics. The species can also be found in all tropical and temperate oceans worldwide.[4] The young false killer whale in Vancouver Aquarium Chester was rescued by the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Rescue Team with help from local residents and Fisheries and Ocean Canada (DFO) after standing as a month old calf on Chesterman Beach in Tofino in July 2014. ... • 31. A Long Day s Journey Into Night And Birdman Virtuous Ignorance? A Comparison of A Long Day s Journey Into Night and Birdman In the art of storytelling, the artist tends to rely on a specific pattern of story development. This pattern, as we have seen in the numerous literary examples that we have read so far, naturally conforms to a rigid framework one that we, as humans, repeatedly desire. This framework was described by Dan Harmon as the story circle , and mirrors the cyclical nature of our conscious perceptive capabilities, as well as our understanding of the universe surrounding us. The story circle identifies (from the perspective of the character or characters we primarily identify with) a submersion and re emergence in some manner, whether journeying physically or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the play A Long Day s Journey Into Night, the crossing of the threshold takes place as the family strives to be whole. The pursuit of harmony captivates and empowers each member of the Tyrone family, and the hope of true happiness drives them. Whether through the use of forced optimism, blissful ignorance, or denial, the words and actions of the family are intended to lift the fog of a broken past and enter into a new era of trust, support, and overall positivity. Evidence of a broken, almost irredeemable past is made readily available to the reader, and one gets the sense that despite all reason to doubt the intentions of the other, each of the Tyrones has completely crossed into an attempted realm of newfound hope. As their past continually rears its powerful and conspicuous head, a philosophical battle between existentialism and nihilism continually fuels the crossing. James bashes his eldest son for his growing doubt of the success of this new covenant, stating By God, how you can live with a mind that sees nothing but the worst motives behind everything is beyond me! • 32. Essay about The Collected Poems of WB Yeats Yeats, B. William. The Collected Poems of WB Yeats. New York: Macmillan, 1996. 318 The importance of this book is that it contains some of the works of poetry which were carried out by William Yeats. Arguably, the most salient feature in the book is the attempt at portraying the shift that characterized Yeats in his work, so that his works are arranged almost chronologically to underscore this standpoint. Works that depict him as a bard of the Celtic Twilight, reviving Rosicrucian symbols and legends are the most frontal. These are followed up by works which show the shift away from plush romanticism. The same are exhibited by the heavy presence of incantatory rhythms such as I will arise and go... and go to Innisfree . The same is seen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... New York: WW Norton and Company, 1975. This poem was published in 1927 and comes out as a form of meditation. The poem is rich in its scope as it covers sundry topics ranging from children, to human behavior, life in the 20th century, the philosophy on life and life after death, among others. This poem is an eight lined stanza which is heavily laden with rhymes and the use of prosaic language. The poem has been written within the context of a visitor who has walked into a classroom under the guidance of a kind elderly nun. The importance of this poem to this reading is that in it, the poet addresses the dynamism that has shaped and continues to shape the civil society, progress and modernity, as opposed to the status quo ante which predated the Civil War or the Anglo Irish War. The importance of this poem to this reading is also seen in the fact that it betrays the political ideals that Yeats had: the poem implicates the speaker as being a senator. It is in after 1924 that Yeats served as a senator. This makes the poem sound like a poem which was penned down after the civil war, given that it is written from the standpoint of a more peaceful and politically stable Ireland. Thus, the poem is also instrumental as it lets the reader in into Yeats political orientation and leanings. Thus, the many qualities Yeats had and the many fields he operated in, in terms of career are well confirmed by this poem. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Juxtaposition In The Destructors There are two types of fiction, literary and commercial. Because the former is more intricate, the literary approach is often taken while writing meaningful short fiction meant to convey a deeper truth. Therefore, in order for a short story to be thought provoking, it must be of the literary variety, which contains complex structure, round characters, and themes that are evident through symbolic elements within the story. This can best be shown through the juxtaposition and comparison of the commercial story, The Most Dangerous Game, against the literary story, The Destructors. Something that is able to generate thought in the mind of the reader is effective characterization, done through the usage of characters who have deep emotional... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, a symbolic structure is necessary in creating an atmosphere of thought inside the reader, as it will allow for deeper analytical exploration of the story as a whole. The structure of a story can act as a symbol and provide a portrayal of the plot, as seen prominently within The Destructors, since the story is formatted in an interesting way that works to parallel the events occurring. The structure is interesting, as there are four sections, all with little or no transition between them. Important information about the context of the time of day is purposely left out by Greene, the author, to symbolize the disjointedness of the boys lives. This is shown explicitly in the transition, or lack thereof, from section one to two. Section two begins after a conversation between the boys has ended, and section 1 skips to the beginning of the next day. Here, the structure purposely caused the reader to jump ahead in time and miss the events that take place in between the omitted periods of time. The reader does not get to know what is occurring there. By generating the feeling of missed time, the structure acts to symbolize the literal discombobulation within the boys lives, and how the Blitz stripped them of their previous sense of normality in day to day life. The disconnectedness of the formation of the story mirrors the physical acts of destruction depicted in the story, since the structure itself is unruly. When the reader compares this story to the commercial story The Most Dangerous Game, it is apparent that it is more thought out, as the structure of The Most Dangerous Game is ordinary, and does not convey any larger meaning about the story as a whole. It contains dialogue and description, however this is to further the plot instead of illustrating other intricate ideas. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Farmer Saw The Wolf English syntax makes it a more analytic as opposed to Japanese where word order is not so important as the affixes of words so reordering of a sentence can still have the same meaning even if they sound funny unlike in English where word order is the de facto method of easy communication (Freeman Freeman, 2014, p. 194). In Finnegan (2015), the sentence: The farmer saw the wolf is used to show how word order can explain why syntax is so important in English; English is an SVO language or a language that predetermines where words go in a sentence for the purpose of clear meaning, SVO stands for Subject Verb Object, whereas many languages can be SVO or even VOS or VSO, with the knowledge that S, V, and O always stand for Subject, Verb, and Object (Language: its structure and use, p. 57). Latin in the sentence mentioned in the prior sentence would be able to switch the SVO around to almost any order; Spanish is in the language family of Latin and so The farmer saw the wolf can be said as El granjero vio al lobo , SVO, or Al lobo el granjero vio , OSV, or Vio al lobo, el granjero , VOS (Finegan, 2015, p. 57). Furthermore, it is apparent that English syntax, or the study of sentence structures is synonymous with much of the study of English grammar; Syntax in a reductive explanation is the study of sentence structure (Finegan, 2015, p. 178). Yet, the types of legal assistance might not always be the same, depending on the individual industry and situational analysis of the business in question. This is a comparison of traditional and nontraditional litigation services that are often used by contemporary businesses, with special attention paid to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). First, to understand the newer, nontraditional forms of litigation it is imperative to set up a sound foundation for understanding the more traditional forms of litigation. Essentially, traditional litigation is the process of going to court to handle disputes of both business and civil matters. As such, litigation is the traditional process, whereby both parties use the court system and procedures to resolve their dispute (Lewis, 2012). Here, legal advice and representation is provided by lawyers who act on behalf of the parties involved in the dispute. In this traditional form, the parties can not talk to each other at all during the context of the dispute process. • 51. Similarities Between Game Of Roses And War Of The Roses A Marriage between Roses and Thrones A marriage is usually perceived as two people in love and bind themselves together with an unbreakable bond. However, in the medieval age, political marriages were more often than a love between couples. Both the Wars of the Roses and HBO s Game of Thrones, political marriages occur in order to lead to personal gain and conduct strategic planning for one s kingdom. In HBO s Game of Thrones, a scene from season 3, episode 5 shows Tywin, Tyrion, and Cersei discussing marriages in a manner which exemplifies the significance of political marriages compared to the Wars of the Roses, between Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI, especially through close up shots, lighting, and sound. When watching the fifth episode of season 3 of Game of Thrones, Tyrion, Tywin, and Cersei discuss how they can use marriages so the Lannisters can secure the North and it can be done if Tyrion marries Sansa Stark. This is comparable to Margaret of Anjou and Henry VI. Margaret of Anjou marries Henry VI and thus as stated in The War of the Roses, Marrying Henry to the French king s niece seemed to serve two greater purposes: it would bring England a diplomatic and military truce in the French wars and it would enable Henry and Margaret to rebuild the dwindling stock of the English royal family. (Jones 84). As seen, the two of them getting married would give them exactly what they need to get a truce between the two countries and kings. Similarly, if Tyrion were to ... • 55. Thomas Reflection Kaleb Harriott Bible 10 9/2/2017 Thomas I can relate to Thomas because of these four ways. Thomas was doubtful and worked hard at finding out the truth. He helped out others believe in Jesus even though they have never seen Him. He taught about Jesus to others. And he struggled a lot throughout his life with Jesus. Thomas doubted and so he worked hard at finding out the truth. He always doubted because of his faith, he wanted to see with his own eyes instead of believing what he wanted to see. For example when Jesus was crucified on the cross he was speared in the chest and nailed to the cross from his wrists. When Jesus was resurrected He visited the group of disciples but Thomas wasn t with the group at the time. So when Thomas came to them they told him about the good news but he didn t believe them unless he saw and felt Jesus wounds in his wrists and chest. Jesus then invited Thomas to see Him so he did and Thomas felt his wounds and believed. The way I work hard is my schedule; I have to wake up go to swim practice from 5:00 to 7:00. Then I have to go to school for six hours and do a lot of assignments for each class. After each class they assign homework which usually takes another two hours after school. Then I have to go to swim practice again for another two hours. When I m finished with practice I have to go eat dinner, then I go home around 8:00 8:30. I have to do my homework which takes forever and go to bed late and wake up early the next morning for practice. It s hard to do mostly because of the amount of school work we have. When I have to wake up for practice it makes it even harder because I put in all my effort and end up tired before school and makes it harder to concentrate. Then after school I have to practice really hard again, and by the time I get home I m exhausted and just want to go to sleep, but I have to stay up and do a lot of homework. I keep doubting that I won t be able to get my work done on time or work hard at practice. I just try to do my best at either my school work or swimming no matter what. Thomas was an inquisitive man. Thomas curious mind led him to doubt God s work in the world, but also led him to discover answers to his questions, which led him to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 56. Reflection About Hunting Hunting has dated back to ancient times when there were massive sheets of ice covering the planet, and yet, all of the evolving the human race has done, it is still a crucial part of some people s everyday life. It has been a family tradition for dads to take their sons into the woods, and teach them the ways of stalking your prey, and finally killing it. On my eighth birthday, I woke up to my dad dressed in a camouflage top holding onto a bowand arrowand a massive white target standing at his feet. His first words were we are going to have fun today . I instantly thought that that day I was going to be killing my first animal, but to my dismay, it turned out that blood was not shed for three years. I loved that bow and arrow, and I can remember everyday after school I would go to the garage and shoot that bow to the point where I couldn t manage to draw it back. After about month, I had lost hope in killing anything with that bow because I was not able to shoot it straight. There was a time that I was shooting in the garage at a target, and the arrow slipped out of my hand, and it had managed to hit a bottle of lighter fluid. Granted I there was not enough force behind the arrow to push it the entire way through the can, but it was enough to spill the lighter fluid all over my foam target. I was no longer to use my bow and arrow unsupervised. Years later, my dad decided to take me to the gun range. He had brought the gun that his father had taught him how to shoot ...
