At first glance, Watership Down by Richard Adams and Jailbird by Kurt Vonnegut, do not share
many things in common, however, politics and political corruption are predominating throughout
both. The novels are both allegories for politics and its power to corrupt, demonstrating how radical
views can sometimes ruin a society. On one hand, Watership Downsuggests that standing up to that
corruption is the only way to insure a just and equal society for all. Indeed, Adams heroes go
through extreme danger and hardships to be able to live free in a democracy of their own making.

When Jesus healed the paralyzed man, Jesus said to him that Take heart, son; your sins are
forgiven. (Matthew 9:2b) Whenever I read this scripture verse, I wondered why he said this way in
this healing moment and how forgiveness of sins is related to healing. John Wesley s theology of
healing completes my understanding of salvation. It used to be focused on Wesley s order of
salvation when salvation comes up as a topic in the seminary. It starts with prevenient grace and
ends with glorification. In this process of salvation, I didn t think about the relationship between
healingand salvation. His understanding of salvation based on holistic health and healing was
something new I learned in this class. It was interesting to see how Wesley was passionate about
holistic healing for the people in the world.
As a consequence of his efforts on holistic healing, he was able to publish Primitive Physick , a
collection of advice for preserving health and treating diseases. Wesley s interest in heath and
healing was a central dimension of his ministry and of the mission of early Methodism.

mountain, see beautiful human like beasts who sang beautifully, use flowers to breathe, see the
black thing, and start to list some of the greatest warriors of Earth. In the movie when they
landed on Uriel, there were flowers who spoke color, they did not fly up a mountain but instead
explored Uriel on Mrs.Whatsit s back, Calvin fell off of Mrs.Whatsit, there were no beautiful
beasts, and they didn t start talking about the great warriors from Earth untill close to the end of
the movie. In the book, the Mrs took Meg and the rest to Camazotz on purpose and gave them all
gifts, from there they made there way into a town where everyone was in perfect sink with
everybody and one kid had messed up bouncing his ball. Meanwhile, in the movie they were
trying to tesser back to Earth and it was Meg s fault they had ended up on Camazotz, only Meg
