Benjamin Franklin lived during the Enlightenment period, also known as the Age of Reason, in the 18th century. This was a time when rational thinking and scientific inquiry were highly valued. However, traditional gender roles were still very much entrenched in society. As one of the leading intellectuals and thinkers of his time, Franklin both reflected and challenged the prevailing views on masculinity and femininity.

- The concept of medical futility has existed since Hippocrates acknowledged that physicians should refuse to treat patients "overmastered by their disease."
- Determining medical futility requires balancing technological capabilities with compassionate limits and accepting that medicine cannot overcome death in all cases. Forgoing futile care is a way to define reasonable boundaries for medical intervention.
- While withdrawing life-sustaining measures may seem negative, it can be a compassionate choice

These reforms weakened the Soviet Union's control over Eastern Europe and ultimately led to the Soviet Union's collapse in 1991. LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can

2. Impact Of Orientalism In Western Music
History is about the present as much as it is concerned with the past because the past forms the
foundation of how things are today which will also become history in years to come.
As my own practice is music heavily influenced by the west, I will be exploring the definition of
Orientalism and The Primitive and Pagan in Contemporary Art with some analysis of their long
history before identifying their effects on today s western music.
Famous orientalist, Edward Said, explained in his book Orientalism that through European
colonization, the Europeans established orientalism, the study of Orientals, as a way to define
themselves as the superior race compared to Orientals and justify their colonization. As the study of
Orientals expanded, Westerners generalized attributes of Easterners and started forming their own
knowledge about Easterners. Hence, Orientalism can now be defined as Western stereotypes about
Eastern people.
By this definition, orientalism can be found in rock music like Arabian Knights by Siousie and
The Banshees and has affected the way lyrics are written in songs. In Arabian Knights, the lyrics

In the more recent years, pop songs like Buttons by the Pussy Cat Dolls, uses strong elements of
Middle Eastern music in its production to complement the pop beats. A distinct Arabic melody
played by a flute sounding instrument can be heard repeatedly throughout the song to make it more
oriental. The same can be said about songs by singer M.I.A as she uses Oriental music such as
Bollywood music in songs like Jimmy . It is hence clear that Orientalism has affected the type and
style music in both past and

American Post War Occupation of Japan
The intent of the United States occupation of Japan was to neutralize the threat of another war, to
nourish the Japanese economy back to health, and to provide a stable democratic government for
the defeated nation. With General Douglas MacArthur acting as the supreme commander in charge
of the occupation, Japan changed drastically. Special attention was paid to the areas of military,

And if it was right in 1946 and wrong in 1953, why doesn t the United States admit for once that
it made a mistake? And I m going to say something that I think perhaps ought to be done more by
people in public life. I m going to admit right here that the United States did make a mistake in
1946. We made a mistake because we misjudged the intention of the Soviet leaders. (Walt 168)
Although the United States did well in eliminating any future threats from Japan, it was realized
later on that Japan was left in the midst of a violent wave of communism with no means of defense
but for the United States which did not wish for a direct war on the Soviets, who backed all
communist countries.
After disarmament was complete, MacArthur s next task was to see that Japan adopted a new, and
democratic, constitution. When the Japanese government proved too confused or too reluctant to
write a constitutional reform that satisfied MacArthur, he had his own staff draft a new constitution
in February of 1946. This, with only minor changes made to please the conservative groups in
Japan, was then adopted by the Japanese government in the form of an imperial amendment to the
1889 constitution. Japan s new democracy went into effect on May 3, 1947. The new constitution
was a perfection of the British parliamentary form of government that the Japanese had been

Background of the LPN
There are many roles and tasks that can be performed under the LPNs scope of practice. The
LPN can give medications prescribed by the doctor, give immunizations approved by the
healthcare provider, preform daily wound care and vital signs, take medical histories and enter
provided information into the computer documents, (Licensed Practical Nurse, 2017). The
Licensed Practical Nurse can watch over the UAP, monitor intake and output, and help with
patient transferring as well. The LPN has a lot responsibly and works as the eyes and ears of a
doctor or a registered nurse.
Client Centered Care
The licensed practical nurse shows client centered care in many ways. Bell (2014) states, The goal

6. Special Rights
The workshop we had today on special rights has been my favorite workshop so far since I am
very interested in the education of children with exceptionalities/special rights, since I am a
special education and early childhood education major. During this workshop we learned about
the history of special rights children in the schools, these children s rights and how they are view,
and how they observe and document these children. To get a better understanding of the values
and rights of children of special rights in these schools it was important to learn about the history.
We learned that in 1968 children with special rights were welcomed to attend the Reggio Emilia
preschools. This is only five years after the first preschool was created. I thought this was
completely amazing since in America children with exceptionalities/special rights were not able to
have access to schools for decades. I also thought that it was amazing that all children with special

They also believe that by having children with special rights in the classroom it allows for more
learning to happen for all of the children. I completely agree with this statement, since I truly
believe that exposing children to diversity and disabilities at a young age allows for them to be
more expecting of others as they get older as well as learn to work with others who may not have
the same strengths as them. During this workshop it was also stated that you have to educate the
possible. This really stuck with me since in special education it is so important to focus on a child s
abilities rather than their disability. I believe this approach is very effective for children with
exceptionalities/special rights since it is so focused on the positive and inclusion rather than the

7. Comparing The Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of...
Max Weber s study was influential in the emergence of the spirit of modern capitalism and is
applicable to leaders past and present. It is true Weber argues that Puritan ethics and ideas
influenced the development of capitalism. The United States is seen as having a democratic
capitalist political economic system due to its economic incentives through free markets, fiscal
responsibility, and its liberal moral cultural system that encourages pluralism. In regard to the
analysis of power in society, Weber again introduces a pluralistic notion (introduction to sociology,
2010).

Weber presented the idea of investing the money in an effort to promote the growth of capitalism.
As a result; the Protestant ethic guided its followers to work, develop business, engage in
commerce and ultimately accumulate wealth for investment. The Protestant ethic was therefore the
driving force behind the mass action that led to the development of capitalism (the protestant ethic
and the spirit of capitalism, 2016).
In his book, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Weber explains how a strong
Protestant work ethic and belief in living frugally helped foster the development of the capitalist
economic system in the Western world. Although Protestantism dissolved socially, the system of
capitalism was engraved to stay. This bureaucratic social structure, and the values, beliefs, and
world views that supported and sustained it, became central to shaping social life. It was this very
phenomenon that Weber conceived of as an iron cage (iron cage,

8. How Did Martha Graham Integrate The Themes Of History
Countless artists have created works that integrate themes of historical events. Martha Graham, also
known as the Mother of Modern Dance, has produced several renowned pieces with this. I believe
that her piece, Panorama, is a great example of a piece that uses history that is timeless. The dance
was choreographed in 1935 for students at Bennington College in Vermont during their summer
danceworkshops. These workshops contained unique American modern dancers and
choreographers that shared their ideas and technique. The piece is separated into three sections
named, Theme of Dedication, Imperial Theme, and Popular Theme . It premiered on August
14th, 1935. The set was designed by Arch Lauterer and Mobiles were created by Alexander
Calder. Panorama was performed by 35 women all wearing red skirts and matching tops. I believe
that Graham chose these costumes because dresses are very feminine and many of her pieces have
dresses as costumes. I also... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Schneider Electric is an aggressive company when it comes to mergers and acquisitions. It reserves
part of its entire revenue every year to fund and reinforce its strategy in this area, and has constantly
acquired companies throughout its history. Pre 2000 Acquisitions Schneider Electricstarted as a
wartime armaments provider before refocusing itself onto the electrical industry in postwar
Europe. It separated from the iron and steel industry to do so. It acquired Telemecanique in 1988,
Square D in 1991, Merlin Gerin in 1992, and Lexel in 1999. These acquisitions mark the transition
of SE s industry focus from construction to electrical equipment. Advantages These strategic
acquisitions helped Schneider gain advantages in the fields of circuit breakers and switchgear.
Telemechanique for example, was the inventor of the first switch and already had patents in their
name when SE acquired them. They were already present in 11 European countries and the United
States by the time the acquisition happened in 1988. This gave SE geographic advantages in circuit

The renaissance or rebirth was a cultural awakening which spanned from the fourteenth to sixteenth
century. A growing interest in humanist traits and classical ideas heavily influenced the art during
the renaissance. A growing community of artists provided much needed competition for their
profession. The renaissanceintroduced many different and modern ideas but also remained obedient
to classical belief. The unique art of the renaissance spread throughout Europe. Northern European
art differed tremendously from Italian art. Art during the early renaissance time period was mostly

This unique blending of fresh ideas and rejuvenating classical ideas defined Masaccio s artwork
and more importantly the art of the early renaissance. The high renaissance time period introduced
the world to arguably its best artists. Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, and Titian ruled
the grand community of artists at the time. Da Vinci and Michelangelo further succeeded
because of their versatility. The high renaissance was marked by rival city states and a
continued trend of lavish spenders. Religious and political leaders spent great quantity of
money to have their chapels, or any setting appear better than their rivals. Michelangelo s
artwork dominates over any other in the Sistine chapel. The Sistine chapel is the ideal place of
where new popes are elected. Michelangelo brought along his love for sculpting in his paintings.
There are about three hundred figures on the Sistine Chapel s ceiling, and no two appear the
same. Michelangelo s artwork has an enormous variety of expression. Arguably Michelangelo s
best painting; The Creation of Adam perfectly represents his ideas. God is shown flying through
the sky; while Adam is bound to the earth. Beneath the Lord s left arm appears to be Eve, waiting
to be born. The viewer s eye follows the entire arm motion perfectly, which ends up pointing at
Christ s child face. Michelangelo s figures differ greatly from Leonardo Da Vinci s formal poses

12. Role Of Women In Frankenstein
The Temperament of the Natural Role of Women in Frankenstein The scientific advances in
Frankenstein led to disastrous consequences, but on a more biological level than one would think.
The author, Mary Shelley was a woman born in Somers Town, London, in 1797. She was raised by
her father William Godwin, who was a writer and philosopher. When she wrote Frankenstein,
Shelley portrays a determined, male character, Victor Frankenstein as an obsessed scientist who
creates a so called monster out of various body parts he dug up out of a graveyard. The reason for
the description, so called monster is because a true monster is evil, inhumane, and lacks remorse. In
addition to this, the stigma around appearance being sociated with monster like... Show more

It s important to realize that Frankenstein s nineteenth century is founded on the division of
gender roles: the male inhabits the public sphere, the female is relegated to domestic sphere. For
example, the men in all work outside the home, as public servants, scientists, merchants, or
explorers. Also, the women are confined to the home; Elizabeth, for instance, is not permitted to
travel with Victor. Interestingly, this is the reason why his wife wasn t involved with the idea of
this experiment. Throughout the novel, intellectual activity is segregated from emotional
activity. With this in mind, Victor Frankenstein cannot do scientific research and think lovingly
of Elizabeth and his family at the same time. While working on his experiment, he states to
forget those friends who were so many miles absent, and whom I had not seen for so long a
time, ( Shelley 50) which means he became disconnected from his relationships. This directly to
his downfall because Frankenstein cannot work and love at the same time. This results in him
failing to feel empathy for the creature. The reason for this is because being in isolation for so
long, he starts to lose his sense of humility. By not maintaining a loving relationship with his wife,
he lost his reason to show compassion. Also, he fails to love or feel any parental responsibility. As
a matter of fact, Frankenstein manages to eliminate the biological role of women, but didn t fulfill
the motherly aspect. He fails to raise the monster as a mother would raise a child. The reason for
this is because he created the monster for his own personal gain. Women, on the other hand, give
birth with the intention to nurture and raising a life. By eliminating the biological role of women,
but not fulfilling the motherly aspect, it results in the monster seeking revenge on his creator,

14. Personal Reflection Paper On Volunteering At Riverside...
Volunteering at COSI reminded me that children of all ages and backgrounds can get excited
about learning. I was able to make a clear, tangible difference in the lives by teaching children
science through enlightening experiments. However, because there are multiple age groups that
come and visit COSI, I never knew who was going to see to my experiment. This forced me to
become more flexible and think on my feet. It is always good to plan ahead, but excruciatingly
futile because you do not always know what is going to happen in the future. Some will be good,
and some will be bad. Being more flexible has helped me adapt better to my surroundings, face
challenges more easily and most importantly become effective with changes. At Riverside
Methodist Hospital, because I worked on floor duty and discharge, I interacted with patients and
heard interesting stories from owning pet fish to fighting in World War II. I saw their smiles
and I knew that even if it was for a little while, I helped a sick patient be happy and forget about
his or her troubles. Although I connected with many patients, I also saw a patient pass away. In a
way, this exposure to death at the hospital has made me value my friends even more. Before
volunteering, I prioritized academic success, but for most patients nearing the end, nothing is more
important than having people who will miss them. This simple truth has made me realize that it is
fine to go out and enjoy a movie with friends, because while grades are important, they will not

19. Factors That Led To The Collapse Of The Mayan Civilization
The Maya civilization was one of the most successful civilizations of its time. The Mayans were
one of the most dominant civilizations in Mesoamerica, located in tropic lowlands in what is now
known as Guatemala. The Mayans were very religious, as they worshipped gods that were related
to nature, such as a rain god and a sun god. They were an agricultural society that mostly relied on
trade in order to get their resources. Mayans were often seen as advanced compared to other
European civilizations with their arts, writing, agricultural techniques, and their architecture. Even
though the Maya civilizationwas very successful, it eventually collapsed. Historians often debate
about how such an advanced civilization could have collapsed. Although there were many factors
that contributed to the collapse of the Mayan, the three that contributed the most were the
collapsing social structure, a decrease in resources, and as well as drought.
One factor that contributed to the Maya Collapse was the fact that their once strong social class
was beginning to fall. The Maya social class was made up of nobles, farmers and slaves. Over
time, this system started to become unorganized. In his article, Maya Collapse: Recent Insight on
the Classic Maya Collapse, Joel Palka describes that Mayan cities either fell or thrived due to the
way their politics and religion were handled. The cities that thrived either negotiated their power or
had it distributed equally through calendar cycles. The

An Analysis of Google
A)Google s two sided platform concentrates on products and services that unite users in the
network. The triumvirate of Schmidt, Brin and Page has the CEO and two presidents
orchestrating (in Schmidt s own words) a kind of run and shoot offense (Google:3), allowing the
search engine to profit both as a place where web searchers can locate information and a place
where businesses can advertise their products. What began as a Stanford University research
project became an algorithmic dream, providing quick access to web surfers around the world
and a new way for advertisers to reach an audience. The two sides of the market searching and
advertising have same side network effects as well as cross side network effects. The same side
network effects may be measured by the amount of users who rely on Google to provide them with
web content. Google has secured more market share than any other search engine in the world.
The same side effects, therefore, are greater user numbers for Google and greater desire for
content providers to be seen and/or located by Google. The cross side network effect may be
measured by the draw such users have on advertisers. The more user numbers grow, the more
interest Google is to advertisers looking to capitalize on the network market. Google Search

It would also start to wear away the bone surrounding the spinal cord. It would also make your

24. How Fashion Grew Into A Very Important And Valuable Idea
Throughout the 15th, 16th, and 17th century, the concept of fashion grew into a very important
and valuable idea. Between the years of 1450 and 1648, men s upper and lower class fashion
and women s upper and lower class fashion was drastically improved by modern technology and
culture. If you were any sort of noble figure, you would have always looked completely put
together no matter where you were going. No matter what class you were in, you desired to look
your best even though there was a vast difference in what each class wore. Lower classmen opted
for clothingthat was easy to move and work in, while upper classmen opted for big, costume like
clothing. This was a result of new, modern technology.
Upper class fashion was definitely the most voluminous, and heavy style of the three classes. For
men s, women s, and children s outfits there were multiple layers, with many different colors, and a
large amount of accessories. Contrasting fabrics, slashes, embroidery, applied trims, and other
forms of surface ornamentation became prominent. (Romanova) For men, the outfits always started
with a simple dress shirt similar to dress shirts men wear today, but without the collar. Instead of
a fold over collar, there was a drawstring that was tied to form a large ruffle around the neck. Over
this dress shirt you would find a doublet. A doublet is a tight jacket like vest that was meant to

28. The Pros And Cons Of Christian Theology
According to Pew Research Center in 2015, there were counted to be 2.3 billion Christians in this
world (Hackett, McClendon,2017). What does it take to be a Christian, one should accept God into
their life, heart, soul, and mind? Accepting God into one s life consist of studying the nature of God,
by reading the Bible daily, and mediating on the scripture both night and day. In this essay of
Christian theology, a new believer, or those that are an undecided believer of God, will know the
four sources of Christian theology, what makes the four sources important to Christian living, the
limitations of these four sources, and lastly the positive and negatives of philosophy and theology.
The four sources of Christian theology are: scripture, tradition, reason, and religious experience
(Blackwell, 2017 pg.104). Scripture is explained to be used for Christian living, and instruction
written by God. Old Testament tells of God s dealing with the Israelites, and how they lived
sinfully in the sight of God. While the Israelites did not live the way, God commanded them to live
which was by the Ten Commandment ways, God still loved them unconditionally even after he
punished them. When it comes to the New Testament, God s only begotten son Jesuscame unto the
scene. Jesus came to this world to seek and to save that which was lost Luke 19:10, Matthew

included an increase in farm size, land claims, land drains, and development of a national market

picking corn ears faster and more efficient, and required a lot less labor. The first machine made in

life he tried to do good then as president he tried to hold a nation together by tactics that could be

pag.).
This clearly shows that Lincoln was not out for the Negro but just to preserve the union. He says in
many other debates that he thought the Negro had a physical difference from the white man as well
as an intellectual difference (Lincoln Douglas, n. pag.). Lincoln was considered by many in the
south to be a bigot, a white supremacist who wanted segregation and opposed civil and political
rights for blacks (Oates 21). Stephen B. Oates talks of many of the theories in his book, like that
many southerners concluded that Lincoln was with them in the matters of race (22). Many of
these examples show that Lincoln was a hypocrite of some sorts. He would appeal to the
southerners by making statements that led them to believe that he was against the Negro. Yet he
was writing the emancipation proclamation that was supposed to free all of the slaves. This also
is debatable that the proclamation freed any slaves at all. The emancipation proclamation is
looked at by some as one of the most far reaching pronouncements ever issued in the United States

37. The Importance Of Homosexuality On Gender And Sexuality
It seems the first point of any homophobic person s argument on why being gay is wrong is that
it says so in the bible . The reason homophobic people try to make this point is because the Bible
is a religious staple. Religion is so influential, it dictates the way people think and how they act.
Whether or not you believe/practice a religion, the effects it has had on societal norms are
undeniable. This essay argues that the Bibleeffects the constructions of societal norms about
gender and sexuality. I support this argument by explaining the importance of the Bible and
examining the text found in it. What is the Bible? The Bible is a collection of texts that certain
religions consider to be a record of the relationship between God and humans. The reason the
Bible is important is because of how powerful it can be. One example that proves the power of the
Bible is the fact that it is the basis of Christianityand Judaism. Meaning that it is the basis for the
most followed religion in the world, Christianity (Pew Research Center). Another example that
proves how powerful the Bible is that some people actually believe it is the direct word from
God. Anything that is thought to be a direct quote from God is going to hold a lot of power in
the world. What I have always been taught growing up in a strong Catholic family is that the Bible
is the instructions to be a good person. I was never taught to take the Bible scriptures literally and
believe every single minuet detail.

In class, we discussed three different possibilities of the meaning of Gwendolyn Brooks s story
The Mother. The first and most probable interpretation of this story is that it is narrated by a mother
who has gone through a miscarriage and is trying to warn other mothers not to get abortions
because they will regret it. This interpretation contains the greatest amount of solid evidence and
makes the most sense. The other two, while less plausible, still have some argument for them. The
second theory is that the story is narrated by a mother who has undergone an abortionand is living

and least plausible meaning, is that this is narrated by... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It explains that the child was born, physically brought into this world, and yet it didn t live. This
what a stillborn child is. A stillborn falls under the category of a miscarriage; it is essentially a
child that has been born dead. Furthermore, Brooks writes If I poisoned the beginnings of your
breaths, / Believe that even in my deliberateness I was not deliberate, (lines 20 21). This evidence
suggests that the mother is blaming herself for the miscarriage. She may think it was something she
did, or something she didn t do, that caused the loss of her child. In pregnancy, there are things the
mother can do that may cause harm to the fetus, such as smoking, drinking alcohol, or any number
of things. Also, if necessary precautions aren t taken, it may have adverse effects on the child.
When a mother goes through a situation as traumatic as losing their child, it is normal for her to
blame herself. Since Brooks explicitly stated that the narrator was not deliberate, it leads us to
believe that it was a miscarriage because he/she had no intentions of hurting the child. Another
example Brooks includes is, ...I have eased / My dim dears at the breasts they could never suck.
(lines 12 13). These lines are telling us that after the child was born, she may have held it to her
chest, but because the child had not survived, it could not suck. This makes sense because typically

It is odd to think that a high school student would pick up the word nigger and use it against
another student because high school students have already been exposed to topics such as slavery

given the fact that race is still a volatile and divisive subject in this country and high school

(Williams, Randle). At this point in time teenagers are exposed to excessive profanity through the

moral lessons and therefore, mature as human beings. A big part about how a student can react to

Along with teaching the literary elements of the novel the teachers should also imply the ideas and

In the year 1912 a ship named Titanic set out on her first voyage, but she never made it back. The
word was that this ship was unsinkable but that was proven wrong when she capsized along an
iceberg. The ship had many people aboard; some like Ruth Elizabeth Becker survived while
others died trapped in the water. Thousands of individuals believe that the Titanic sank due to the
large iceberg that it hit, but that s not the major factor in why so many lives were lost that day.
There were many contributors (most of them being human selfishness and faults). The ship had
many indications of failure before even hitting the ice. They were warned multiple times by
neighboring ships of possible danger, passengers reacted terribly in the chaos taking the every
man for themselves approach, pride, the lower class were not seen as equals and therefore not
prioritized, and the #1 cause made by crew and passengers alike is ignorance. The crew had been
warned about the icebergs in their path but would not slow down for the sake of an image. The

a choice of which one of two roads to travel. He knows not where either road might lead. In order

He predicts that he will always remember this moment of choice and will be telling it with a
sigh (16) when he is old. His choice will have made all the difference (20) and affected his whole
journey. Frost creates a tone of inevitability that no matter what the choice, there will always be
regret. Frost presents the traveler s choice of paths as a metaphor for the difficult decisions a
person must make in life. The divergent paths are the choices to be made at various points along
the way. Regardless of how he tries, the traveler cannot see beyond where the path is bent in the
undergrowth (5). Likewise, nobody can predict what effect one choice will have on his life. The
traveler sees the two paths as very similar or just as fair (6). As much as the traveler would like
to return to the diverging roads, he realizes that he will not get another chance to travel the other
path. With maturity comes a resignation that a choice has affected a person s life and there is

difference. (20). In The Road Not Taken , images of the bright woods and wide open opportunity
to choose are contrasted with the indecision and regret of only being able to travel one path. Word
choice and a slight sorrowful tone reinforce the theme of regret. Frost presents divergent roads as a
metaphor for the choices a person must make in life. The traveler s rueful resignation that

this guy as president? Arnold Schwarzenegger began his career as a body builder and later
became a famous actor, staring in many famous movies and roles. In 2003 he ran for governor of
California and won. However, his career and home life have been shadowed by many controversies.
One such controversy is that Schwarzenegger has admitted to steroiduse during his bodybuilding
career. He stated steroids were helpful to me in maintaining muscle size while on a strict diet in
preparation for a contest. I did not use them for muscle growth, but rather for muscle maintenance
when cutting up . This statement would make one question his integrity,

46. Texas Cottage Food Law Case Study
Before 2011, it was illegal to sell food that was made in a person s home. But in 2011, FARFA
(Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance) came together and began lobbying to make the first Texas
Cottage Foods Law. People all around Texas came together to support FARFA, ensuring a win for
the bill. This law allowed people to sell specific homemade foods, but the amount of foodgiven
could not exceed $50,00 (farm and ranch freedom). During the Texas Legislative session of
2013, the Texas Cottage Foods Law (Bill: HB 970) was again introduced into the House. FARFA
wanted to increase the amount of foods a person could sell, as well as make more locations for
the items to be sold. The requirements that had to take place before selling an item are: sell only
to people, have a food handler s card that was up to date, the items made had to be... Show more

There were even clubs and organizations that came together, such as the Houston Cake Club,

Copper
The reasons why copper is a natural resource. Copper is one the most used natural resources.
Copper is used for many things. It is considered a natural resource because the Earth makes it.

is turned into copper because copper solidifies sooner than any other materials. Then the final

United States. The copper is used in our pennies. Just in pennies we make about 13 billion
pennies a year. All of that is copper. A penny weighs about 0.088 ounces. Another thing that we
use copper for is electricity. Copper is a great conductor of electricity. Copper is able to take heat
very well when running electricity because the conduct electrons. Copper is malleable and
ductile. Since it is very ductile it allows us make wiring out of it. It is very well good at conducting
heat so you will see it a lot in motor vehicle radiators and home heater systems. It is also used in air
conditioning. Copper is not really corrosive so that is why people will see it in pipes, water pipes.
The only problem with the pipes made out of copper is that copper will bend and break really
easy. Some copper is used in gun designs. They were also used for making swords and shields.
Very few were made out of helmets but it was still used for that way back when. Also copper was
well known for killing bacteria. So in the past they used it to treat wounds for patients because it
could kill the bacteria. It was also used on the sides of ships to protect it from algae and other
bacteria that may have harmed the boat. Copper has been used for a long time. It dates back to

48. Surveillance Of Private Citizens
The debate between privacy and the surveillance of private citizens has been quite a huge and
controversial topic that has arisen in recent years. In terms of understanding how exactly it came to
be such a controversial topic, first a person should be able to understand exactly what it means to
have the surveillanceof private citizens, why it has been said to be a good idea for a better and
safe society and the different terms that come up when one talks about the topic of surveilling
private citizens. Key ideas that should be noted for learning more about the topic would be for

Governments around the world have said that by going through this process of collecting
information on it s own citizens, that it could help deal with security concerns. This idea of
having government surveillance programs keeping watch over it s citizens at least in the United
States has been prevalent since at least 911 when prior to the launch of Prism in 2007, there was
another program in place called the Terrorist Surveillance Program. In terms of what government
surveillance is being used for it is mainly to stop terrorist attacks from occurring. In order for this to
occur, the government sifts through the traffic of different telecommunications, Internet, phone
calls, web chats, and etc. As they are sifting through this traffic they will be looking for certain
patterns, which would be considered red flags. Through these red flags they can pinpoint certain
people or factors and then slowly build up a file on whether or not there is a certain terrorist or
criminal threat to the public or not.
In terms of whether or not government surveillance is a good thing, my argument would be that
mean it s necessarily a good thing to collect information on everyone, as that s what government
surveillance calls

49. Biblical World View Bibl 104 Essay examples
Introduction
A facet of Christian faith is the belief that mankind is created in the image of God. So God
created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he
created them. I believe we were created in God s image, and that it influences me every day as a
manager at Target. The inherit image of Godin myself shows me that I should treat others with
dignity and have no bias or exploitation of others based on looks, creed, race, gender, etc. The
inherit image of God in myself also shows me that I need to be a servant such as Jesus was.
Example 1
As a manager at Target I find it no coincidence that my employee handbook should so closely
model the way Jesus treated others. In this case it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reading the Bible and feeling the servant spirit of Jesus gives me great hope for a program such
as this. Being formed from his image I feel we should emulate that same servant attitude towards
others. In Mark 9:35 Jesus says If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.
For those who enter our store I am their servant because I wish to emulate Jesus in helping those
around me. Many customers do not wish for my help, while others spurn it. I can only continue
to try and follow his direction and know that in Chronicles 15:7 it says But you, take courage! Do
not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded. The Vibe program is truly about
increasing sales for our store and company. I look at it as an opportunity to do God s will. Being
made in God s image makes me feel closer to God and makes me want to help others and bring
them closer to God. In my job I have that opportunity to help others, and whether it s a smile,
pointing someone to the item they are looking for, or that rare opportunity to tell them about the
wonderful church I belong too, I am thankful.
Conclusion
God set us apart from the animals and made us in his image. We are mentally smarter, emotionally
deeper, rationale beings not animals. Being made in his image doesn t mean I look exactly like
God, but that parts of me reflect God. That

51. Southern Women Historiography Summary
Kyriakoudes stands against the Agrarian myth of the South, finding many rural citizens moved
toward local urban centers and a found that economically and that agriculture was insufficient to
support rural families. Dropping prices created generations of rural youths looking to escape the
farm and try their hand at survival in the city (provided they were close enough to still be within
the safety net of home. Kyriakoudes noted that more women were migrating to Nashville, if you
were a woman, you were not getting land so you went to the city and sent money back home.
However, in the newly minted capitalist economy, money equates to power, socio cultural agency,
and new narratives of the Southern experience. These women possessed a sense of autonomy and
diverse experiences as expressed by a generation earlier by African Americandomestic workers in
Atlanta and the homogenous rural, Southern woman. Work, Family and Faith, was edited to
provide readers with an accessible introduction to the multiplicity of lives that constructed the
supposedly homogenous group of rural Southern women . Oral histories of rural southern women
blend to reveal narratives about the region and nation that were silent in the historiography.
Following in the steps of Tera Hunter, Walker and Sharpless accentuated how vital women were to
the construction of Southern history and society. They even touched upon the experiences of rural
African American women, often over looked in the historiography due
