2. Where is this haze from?
• Hot Spots in Indonesia
and Malaysia
• Plantation owners
• Burning and clearing
of farm land.

3. Why do we always get it?
• Annual clearing of land.
• Large scale deforestation by plantations.
• Loss of national parks?
• Cheap and fast.
• Lower costs so that prices will be lower.

4. What prices?
• Plantations tend to be Oil Palm plantations
• Palm Oil is used everywhere.

5. The Kit Kat dilemma
Increasing the costs of Oil Palm
might mean triple the price of this
same bag of Kit Kat.
$15 Kit Kat???

– You can check the labels that are on the boxes and
containers.
