Through education, network-building, collaborative research, and advocacy, the Initiative hopes to raise critical awareness, promote dialogue, and build consensus among health professionals and healthcare organizations around the nexus of climate change, energy, and human health.

¿Cómo sería correr si tan solo pesaras una fracción de los kilos que te marca la báscula por
las mañanas en el baño? Podrías correr más rápido, tus articulaciones soportarían un
impacto menor y podrías adquirir una mejor forma. Ir a la Luna a entrenar es aún un poco
complicadillo, pero gracias a la cinta de correr Alter G no tendrás que irte tan lejos. No es un
invento reciente, ya apareció en 2008, pero desde entonces el dispositivo ha mejorado y
aunque te parezca propio de una película futurista, permite correr mientras tus piernas están
a menor gravedad que el resto del planeta Tierra.
Puedes encontrar AlterG en algunos selectos gimnasios o casi con más facilidad en
establecimientos de rehabilitación, fisioterapia, centros deportivos de alto rendimiento y
similares.
No deberías dejar pasar la oportunidad de probarlo. El funcionamiento es muy sencillo.
Metes las piernas en unos pantalones especiales de neopreno con unas cremalleras que se
fijan a una especie de airbag gigante. Esta bolsa de aire está presurizada hasta un 20%
menos que la presión en la superficie terrestre. Curiosamente en la Estación Espacial
Internacional se emplea el mismo sistema pero a la inversa para proporcionar un modo de
ejercitar las extremidades de los astronautas como si estuviesen en la superficie del planeta.
A partir de ahí simplemente debes limitarte a aprender a correr a menor gravedad (menor
presión, en realidad, aunque el efecto es el mismo).
2. Desde el punto de vista de al recuperación tras una lesión este método tiene todas las
ventajas mencionadas de permitir accionar los músculos sin impacto e independientemente
del peso del corredor, y para los atletas permite centrar el entrenamiento en adquirir forma
independientemente del peso… además de entrenar la tremenda velocidad que se puede
adquirir al correr de esta manera.
La pega (recordemos… siempre la hay) es que para los interesados en esto del AlterG que
sean de sexo masculino, pueden notar una sensación molesta en sus partes pudendas
debido a la postura que se adopta en el “pantalón” que sirve de soporte, por no hablar de las
sensaciones derivadas de la diferencia de presión.

alguna cerca y ya nos cuentas.
MTV recicla en Sao Paulo tarjetas de crédito caducadas en púas de guitarra
Música, reciclaje y obsolescencia económica, por fin todos juntitos. Es la iniciativa de MTV
en algunos bares de Sao Paulo, donde la cadena musical tiene su sede brasileña. A tal fin
ha instalado unas máquinas en las que introduces tus tarjetas de crédito caducadas y al tirar
de la palanca lo que obtienes es una púa para tocar la guitarra confeccionada a base de tu
ex-dinero de plástico. A continuación te ofrecemos un vídeo de esta iniciativa.
Evidentemente también sirven a tal fin cualquier otra tarjeta de plástico que no utilices.
Ese club deportivo al que fuiste sólo la primera semana, aquella tienda que te descuenta en
tus compras pero que cerró por culpa de la crisis, la tarjeta de la asistencia en carretera que
por fortuna nunca tienes necesidad de comprobar su funcionamiento…
La mecánica es bien sencilla. Una pequeña trituradora con forma de la habitual púa para las
guitarras eléctricas, tiene una ranura por la que debes introducir la tarjeta de crédito o similar
(¡comprueba bien que no es la tarjeta de crédito que funciona!) que quieras hacer pasar a
mejor vida.
