Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.
Power-sharing Class 10 is a vital aspect of democratic governance. It refers to the distribution of power among different organs of government, levels of government, and social groups. This ensures that no single entity can control all aspects of governance, promoting stability and unity in a diverse society.

1. Us History Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of U.S. history can be a daunting task, as it requires not only a
comprehensive understanding of the vast expanse of American history but also the ability to
synthesize information and present a coherent narrative. The complexity of the topic arises from
the multitude of events, figures, and periods that have shaped the nation's trajectory.
To begin with, one must delve into the depths of historical archives, textbooks, and scholarly
articles to gather relevant and accurate information. The challenge lies not only in identifying
crucial events but also in connecting them to provide a cohesive and insightful analysis. The
historian must grapple with conflicting perspectives, diverse interpretations, and evolving
historiography.
Moreover, constructing a compelling thesis that encapsulates the essence of the essay and guides
the reader through the historical journey is a critical aspect. The thesis should not only be clear
and concise but should also reflect a nuanced understanding of the chosen aspect of U.S. history.
The process of writing involves meticulous research, thoughtful analysis, and effective
organization of ideas. Juggling multiple historical periods, movements, and socio-political
changes requires a keen sense of chronology and causation. Transitions between different
sections of the essay should be seamless, ensuring a smooth flow of ideas.
Additionally, striking a balance between depth and breadth is crucial. While it's essential to delve
into specific events and their significance, it's equally important to situate them within the
broader historical context. This synthesis demands a keen analytical mind and the ability to draw
connections between seemingly disparate elements of U.S. history.
In conclusion, composing an essay on U.S. history is a formidable undertaking that demands not
only historical knowledge but also analytical prowess and effective communication skills. It
requires the writer to navigate through the complexities of the nation's past, offering a nuanced
perspective that goes beyond mere recounting of facts. Nevertheless, with dedication and the
right approach, the writer can create a compelling narrative that contributes meaningfully to the
understanding of U.S. history.

3. Persuasive Essay On Electronic Voting
If you re over the age of eighteen maybe you have thought about voting at least once.
Everyone should be able to vote, but with computers emerging as the main source of
technology of modern society, a city in the United States is considering using
electronic voting machines(EVMs) for the next election. These machines would be
used in place of traditional paper ballots. And citizens are divded on whether their
city should use EVMs or continue to vote through traditional paper ballots. Here are
the different perspectives on an issue of importance. In favor of using electronic
votingballots, some citizens in the U.S.A feel electronic voting machines help
more people vote more easily. In 2003 97% of voters of different ages, races, and
physical ability said they had no trouble using the machines. A 2006 poll in Utah
returned almost the same result. Even voters of different languages can smoothly
adapt from using the electronic voting machines over the paper ballots. Since the
costs of printing is high the many different languages are limited for the paper
ballots, so without EVMs voters who do not read english well have to ask the poll
workers for help making privacy impossible. Citizens also agree with using EVMs
over paper ballots because they are safe. They aren t connected to the internet, where
hacking often occurs, so they can t be tampered with. Voters with security questions
do not need to worry. They capture votes electronically and store them in

Big Branch Miner Disaster
The Upper Big Branch Mine (UBBM) is located in Montcoal, West Virginia, which is
about 30 miles south of Charleston. It was operated by Performance Coal Company
(PCC), a former subsidiary of Massey Energy Company (Massey). The disaster,
which occurred at 3:27pm local time on April 5, 2010, killed 29 miners and injured 2
due to a series of massive coal dust explosions. It was the largest coal mine disaster in
the United States since 1984.

During the whole investigation procedure, Massey insisted that the explosion was an
unforeseen accident which was caused by massive methane from a crack in the mine
floor. However, according to the accident investigation by Mine Safety and Health
Administration (MSHA), Massey should take most of the responsibility for the
disaster since they had already failed at systemic risk management for a long time.
According to the investigation by American University, Massey had been reported
of violations for 62.923 times, 25,612 of which were significant and substantial.
During the ten years, Massey were proposed to be fine $49.9 million by MSHA.
After the Big Brunch Miner Disaster, MSHA wrote a report to President Obama,
talking about the problems in safety record of Massey. 9 days after the disaster, the
explosion representative published a list of 48 mines that should have been

Study
Assess the significance of the role of individuals in bringing about the expansion and
dismantling of the British Empire in Africa in the period c1870 c1981.
The two factors that led to the formal occupation of North Africa in 1882 was
economic and political factors. Britain wanted to protect their economic interests
such as their investment in The Suez Canal. In 1875 Prime Minister Benjamin
Disraeli bought a 44% share in the Suez Canal this was ultimately beneficial for
Britain as this was a cheaper way to export goods into Egypt whilst simultaneously
protecting the route to India. Robinson and Gallagher argue that the driving force

the drove the formal occupation of East Africa was Sir William McKinnon.
McKinnon s competition with Germany was driven by economic interests as he

announced a German Protectorate in East Africa, it was decided that East Africa
would be divided by spheres of influence between 1885 and 1895. AJP Taylor

formally occupied East Africa in 1895 in order to strengthen and expand her own
empire . It can thus be said that although Britain never intended to be formally in
control of East Africa, the trade, economic importance of the land and the possibility
of an imbalance of power led to the occupation of the largely unwanted East African

8. The Political Philosophy of Karl Raimund Popper
Karl Raimund popper (1902 to 1994) was an influential philosopher of science, who
philosophized about society, in much the same way he philosophized about science in
a critical spirit. His personal experience, as an Austrian Jew in the days of the Nazi
Anschluss (meaning link up or annexation in the German language), provided him a
wealth of firsthand experience and insights into the nature of totalitarian governments.
At a point in popper s life he was an enthusiast of Marxist socialism, but that
enthusiasm was short lived as he soon began to develop a skeptical turn of mind
towards Marxist socialism. He questioned the rationale in the sacrifice of human life
which communism found necessary to its cause, after the leaders of the ... Show more

They also postulated a broad range of social teleological theories generally called
historic ism in which society was forced into accepting a unilateral version of reality
which was wholly certain as to it present state and future outcomes.
In the defense of the liberal tradition in politics Popper developed certain
philosophical positions, to counter the notions by those philosophers who advocated
such illiberal philosophical ideas that could only lead to the creation of closed
societies for the world. The philosophical positions which popper advanced included
a twin edged liberalism , in the sense of peacefully tolerating the proponents of
closed societies in free societies, as long as they stuck to verbal arguments only, and
social engineering by a piecemeal or (gradual) approach to social reforms.
Popper considered the west and the rest of the world endangered by the influence of
such thought that promoted a historicist or collectivist frame of social thought. This
sort of frame for social thought he argued could only lead to the establishment of
authoritarian and totalitarian forms of government, which would in turn suppress and
constrain the liberties and lives of people in the long run.

argument and his skepticism towards small and universal elements, as well as the
implications these arguments have on each other. First, I will summarize and explain
the skepticism Descartes brings to bear on small and universal elements in his first
meditation. Second, I will summarize and explain the Cogito argument, Descartes

actually something ever said or written by Descartes, but instead, an implication taken
from his argument for his own existence). Third, I will critique the line of reasoning
underlying these arguments. Descartes attacks... Show more content on

Descartes attacks the possibility of certainty with regards to the existence of small
and universal elements with the possibility of our thoughts being altered by an
omnipotent deceiver. In paragraph nine, he states, How do I know that he did not
bring it about that there be no Earth at all, no heavens, no extended thing, no
figure, no size, no place, and yet all these things should seem to me to exist
precisely as they appear to do now. His point is that this omnipotent evil deceiver
could create in our minds an understanding of mathematics and logic that is at odds
with reality, causing us to construe everything wrongly. Thus Descartes ends this
final and devastating doubt with the preliminary conclusion that everything he
perceives can be called into doubt. Descartes answers his seemingly hopeless
skepticism from the first meditation with the Cogito. The basic point of his Cogito
argument is that for me to either perceive awry, or even to doubt my own existence,
I must exist. It is, as Descartes says, I am, I exist is necessarily true every time it is
uttered by me or conceived in my mind (Med2, par3). He makes two arguments for
the Cogito in his second meditation. Descartes arrives at the Cogito through the
notion of an omnipotent deceiver actually. He starts to question his own

by year round particle levels, (MNN, 2013). Air pollutants can cause adverse health
effects on multiple body systems. Negative effects include difficulty breathing, lung
irritation, chest pain, headaches, eye irritation, wheezing, shortness of breath,
pulmonary or nasal congestion and developmental delay, (Ackley amp; Ladwig,

11. Colours
Have you ever thought that perhaps, the only colour in real life is white? White
light is indeed the bearer of all colours. The colours we see are reflections bouncing
off an object or are the light source itself. The light sources change and the colours
with them. Colour is not a stable affair. Colour is lightalone, but our experience is so
direct that we trust our eye and believe that a colour is inherent to an object. Imagine
living in a world where everything is white in colour!
However, the world we live in is, thankfully, full of colours, and they trigger
emotional responses as they influence our feelings and us. Interestingly, colours can

There are also different meanings when you wear a certain coloured cloth. For
example, during the Elizabeth era, the colours of clothing worn provided instant
information about the person wearing them. A man or women who wore purple
clothes would be immediately recognized as a member of royalty. Gold, silver,
crimson or scarlet, deep indigo blue, violet colours and even deep black and pure
white colours were only worn by the highest nobility in the land. The colours of
Elizabethan clothes provided information about the status of the man or woman
wearing them. This was not just dictated by the wealth of the person, it also reflected
their social standing.
An interesting fact about colours is that certain colours can reduce energy
consumption! The scientific fact is that white reflects the radiant energy rays of
the sun and black absorbs them. The same principle has a significant impact on a
house. The hotter the roof is, the hotter the air in the rooms below and the hotter
the air is, the cooler we will on our air conditioners, thus, making use of more
energy. However, light coloured roofing are like a white shirt for your house
because they reflect radiant energy. Even a light grey hue is better than a blue or
green. There are also the symbolic meanings for colours in dreams. The purpose of
colour in a dream is to act as a healing agent or guide. The character in the dream
who wears the colour and the position of the colour relative to the dreamer are
12. Winnie The Pooh Character Analysis
The Adventures of Winnie The Pooh by AA Milne is book that focuses on the life
of the loveable bear Pooh and his experiences with his friends in the 100 acres
woods. More importantly than Pooh s experiences in the novel is how Pooh
impacts his friends. Pooh is shown to have positive impact on everyone in the 100
acre woods. Pooh is show to be loyal and dedicated friend. Also, Pooh is
adventurous and always willing to help his friends at any sign of trouble.
Furthermore, Pooh s effect on his friends is seen to be very positive and this
positivity provides insight into some of the lessons young readers can learn from the
lovable bear.
From Pooh s very first scene you get a glimpse into how adventurous he is when you
see him trying to get honey from the bee s nest. This hunger for adventure can be
seen throughout most of the novel as he is always helping his friends with an
adventure. For instance, when he notices Christopher Robin with his big red boots
Pooh knew that an Adventure was going to happen, and he brushed the honey off
his nose with the back of his paw, and spruced himself up as well as he could, so as
to look Ready for Anything (Milne). Pooh did not even know what Christopher
Robin wanted to do but being his friend knew that he wanted to help with this
adventure. Moreover, Pooh adventurous nature teaches kids to be active and
adventurous in their own lives. However Pooh s adventures are not just because he
likes the explorative nature of them, a lot of times they are for the benefit of one of
his friends. For example, when his good pal Eeyore loses his tail Pooh declares I,
Winnie the Pooh, will find your tail for you. . This shows that Pooh is selfless and
his selflessness has a positive impact on the 100 acre woods. Furthermore, it teaches
kids that they should do things for others out of the kindness of their own hearts just
like Pooh does throughout the novel.
Another one of Pooh s best qualities which is show plenty of times throughout the
novel is that he is a loyal and dedicated friend. He is constantly trying to make things
better in the 100 acre woods through his actions. One example of this is when he gets
Eeyore a gift for his birthday, even though he ate the honey that was in

love of a good Christian woman, a theme that goes throughout the novel. Kumalo
finds that Gertrude has begun to sell liquor as well as herself, as a prostitute. He
manages to convince her to return with him to their village with her son when he is
finished in the city. Later Msimangu takes Kumalo to Kumalo s brother, John, as
they begin the search for Kumalo s son. John has stopped attending church and now
has a mistress as his wife has left him. John s sinful state symbolizes the classic
Christian view of those who have fallen away from the Faith and matches the heavy
Christian themes of the novel. Nevertheless, Msimangu tells Kumalo that John is
one of the most important black politicians in Johannesburg. John says he doesn t

and what kind of hair everyone in the painting has. However, what does it for me is
the colors, the deep red curtain that s about to fall on Holofernes body when he is
dying shows more of the symbolism that he is dying than the action of Judith
choking him. The darker skin tone of the old lady and darker tone in her clothes to
show her age but also says that she not one of wealth. The vibrant coloration of
Judith showing her purity, also the brown of her clothing being not of a bright
color gives me the feeling that she is a housewife or a plain Jane. The colors do
more than tell whom the characters are it also shows every fold and defines the
human body with the differences in tone. It gives shape to the agonizing pain in
Holofernes face, the questioning face of Judith, and the assured face of the old lady.

1.What are the key components of IT value?
IT by itself does not provide any value, however, the alignment of IT to strategic,
operational, and cultural objectives provides business value. Thus, the CIO must
ensure that any new investment in IT is for the sake of business objectives and not
for IT for ITs sake . Ensuring businessalignment against IT project delivery is
critical, must be undertaken for any investment and is the key component of IT value.
2.How can we increase the level of value creation afforded by IT?
Before a CIO can increase the value of IT he or she must first find the gaps, this can
done by doing a current state assessment to determine its strengths, weakness and
barriers to change. The CIO must then establish a clear future state and explain why
this change is necessary and as the final step create an action plan to bridge the gap

What insights about IT value did you garner from Maggie s and Reuben s thoughts
on the subject?
Both Maggie and Reuben agree that measuring the value of IT is a difficult task,
however, they also agree that IT does add value by generating core capabilities that
provide the firm with competitive advantage and business agility. Reuben also
mentions that sometimes investment in IT is necessary to stay in business, for
regulatory requirements or for strategic positioning and that the returns from such
investments aren t necessarily direct.
4.How does IT create or enable the creation of value within an organization?
There are four levels of IT value maturity, at level 1, IT stream lines data, business
process and increases organizational effectiveness, at level 2, IT enhances
collaboration and refines business processes, at level 3, IT changes the value chain by
improving relationships with suppliers, vendors, manufacturers and customers and at
level 4, IT innovates products, markets and business models.

20. Netherland Geography
When most people think of the Netherlands what comes to mind are bland dresses
with wooden shoes, fields of tulips, windmills of all shapes, and the bordering North
Sea with hundreds of canals flowing in and out of the country. Contrary to what most
people would believe, Dutch history is dynamic, dramatic, and in some stages even
exciting. With no real solidified date of origin, it is common knowledge that the
country thrived off seaports that bordered the western coasts. Formerly joined with
what we now know as Belgium, the Netherlands was once a fruitful nation in
seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, being home to many anglers, ship builders,
and sea traders. Although it was home to many of these people experiencing wealth,

Low rolling hills are concentrated in the centrum, and in the extreme south, you run
into the Ardennes Mountains. Vaalserberg is the highest point of the Netherlands
reaching three hundred and twenty two meters or one thousand fifty three feet
(Netherlands Geography, September 29, 2015). For thousands of years the Dutch
people have struggled with the sea flooding their lands and taking tens of thousands
from the population. Faced with an on going threat that repeated itself many times of
the course of the country s history, the Dutch developed ways to combat this.
Dutchman built raised farmlands and villages with polders and countless amounts of
windmills to try to remove water from the areas below sea level. In the nineteen
thirties, the Dutch built a dike, the Afsluitdiijk, to aid in warding off the sea from
flooding their lands (Netherlands Geography, September 29, 2015). Over the next
twenty years, this provided a means to help aid in combating the floods but in
nineteen fifty three, the sea struck again. High waters claimed innocent lives and
raised more questions on how to combat their lengthy coasts effectively. The Dutch
had taken enough tolls from the sea and came up a resolution that is running to this
day. Delta Works is a massive chain of flood protection structures consisting of

ANTI CAR THEFT DEVICES Across Metro Detroit, ATPA funded auto theft teams
and Insurance special investigators are reporting numerous thefts of wheels and

now becoming outdated as the new technology on cars often prohibits the actual
theft and ability to drive away with a complete vehicle without a key fob. Moreover,
thieves are stealing just the wheels and tires to resell them in the lucrative black

thieves break the window, pop the hood and disable the gear shift to put the car in

This case begins with highlighting the success that had now gripped the Swatch
Company lead by Nicolas G. Hayek. Due to strong numbers from 2010 the company
set the goal to make 10 billion. This was only made possible by their multiple
different brands across multiple different segments, innovative technology, and
coming out of a brief period of difficulty with their most profitable flagship watch,
Omega. The company now sets its sight on a new goal, surpassing the long
established brand, Rolex. In order to try and tackle this giant, the company and CEO
debate how to best attract potential customers through advertising, overall message,
and through possible overseas ventures in the United States.
As I said before Swatch wasn t always this successful. In fact, according to the case, in
the 1960 s their market share fell about 41% due to competition from the then popular
inexpensive watches. Throughout this time period it is interesting to see how their
strategies evolved in regards to their competition, product placement, and brand
management. First, they opted try to combat the inexpensive watches by making an
inexpensive quartz watch which they later discarded. Another watchmaking group
took their idea which forced the company to move to the more high end market and
as a result they saw their sales drop. I don t have all the details regarding their
decision of course, but it appears that they seemed almost indecisive on how to
handle the low cost alternative. It would be

strongly correlated to having an identity, thus if an individual does not have a name
he or she is nothing. Coriolanus is a prominent Roman war hero who had a strongly
developed sense of selfin the beginning of the play. However, as the play progresses
he falters and decides to become dangerously independent, not even wanting to
accept the name given to him by his mother. He continually changes his name and
identity throughout the play. Coriolanus rejects Rome s societal norms and
establishes his own virtues that he lives by. This method of thinking ultimately led
to his banishment from Rome, which also pushed him into forging for himself a
new name. I can relate to Coriolanus struggle to find a name for himself. I feel that
the name given to me by my mother holds no identity in and of itself. Rather, it is
the choices that I make in my own life that will determine what that name will come
to represent. Coriolanus first name, given to him at birth, was Caius Marcius.
Initially, Caius Martius was a strong military general who was confident in his role in
society. As a military general, he made fighting against the Volsces his number one
priority. Due to his overwhelming dedication to his country, Caius Martius was gifted
with the powerful title of Coriolanus. As Herald proclaims, Know, Rome, that all

Family
The most important thing we have in life is family. They are considered to always
have your back and protect and love you no matter what happens. In
Metamorphosis , Gregor only has love for his sister. Grete also has the same love
her brother who she can look up to. In the beginning, Grete shows protection over
her brother because of his illness, but overtime she begins to feel that her brother is
fading away. Up until Gregor s death, she believed that he was no longer her brother
as the insect he became.
Gregor is an antisocial person; he does not go out with anyone. He is married to his
job and the debt that his family owes, making it easier for him to have a close
relationship with Grete, who he depends too much on. In chapter 1, Kafka
explains how Gregor s insecurities show when he has to confront his general
manager without Grete by his side. He writes, If only his sister were here!... But
his sister was not here, so Gregor himself would have to act (15). Gregor is in a
process of metamorphosis where he is turning into a nasty insect; Grete believes it
is just a bad illness that will go away over time. Although Grete cares for her brother

25. Foucault s Panopticon
Foucault believed that knowledge is a form of power, and that ultimately, through
observation you gain power. This main idea allowed for him to realize that, once
applied to the real world, knowledge is the most powerful tool one can have. It is
evident that Foucault essentially believed that with knowledge, one can control
everything around them. Furthermore, having the power to discipline and society.
The concept of panopticism developed from the idea of disciplining society. The
panopticonwas an architectural design with the main purpose of being able to have
visibility on everyone that was incarcerated. Prisoners were held in cells, which
surrounded a main tower controlled by either a general guard, or the person who

Bartky uses the idea that over time, women have slowly been breaking out of the
power that men had over them. They have somewhat freed themselves from being
monitored and controlled by men. This relates to panopticism in that the
panopticon was essentially created in order to have full regulation and oversight
over prisoners, in this case, women. Disciplinary practices were being ensured in
order to have society (women) constantly productive as well as under control by a
power figure. Ultimately requiring people to behave properly and according to
conduct which in turn, controlled their minds as well as their bodies. In terms of
modern surveillance, women are constantly being watched by men even when
they do not know of it. This is a disciplinary practice set by the norms society has
created for women, which is also known as the male gaze, essentially creating the
docile body. Foucault s idea of panopticism produced his concept that these
disciplinary practices create docile bodies which in essence means that people are
being made into subjects. Bartky uses this to explain that this has much to do with
women and how they are being currently objectified in every way possible. An
example of this, is how women are being made objects for men in the media in order
to make them look desirable. This grants men all the
26. Millenial Demand
As a result of the economic recession, the lifestyle of millennials and the previous
generation is changing. For example, the millennial generation is continuing to live
with their parents due to the economy. How do the changes in the economy affect our
millennial generation? What are the behavioral changes that affect our aggregate
demand? How? Why?
The Application of Aggregate Demand and Supply is the total quantity of goods
purchased and produced at various prices. Since millennials are not purchasing as
many goods due to economic decline, the aggregate demand decreases. For instance,
many millennials are not buying homes. Beth Bravermen states in her article, The
Main Reason Millennials Aren t Buying Homes, that Student loan debt, high rents
and low wages all make it tough for millennials to save enough to cover the standard
20 percent down payment.
During the periods of the economic recession, and the periods following, it is very
difficult for millennials to obtain a higher paying job. As a result, it leads to income
loss. Many of them have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because they cannot afford it, millennials are deterred from settling down for
marriage. Getting married would increase the amount of necessities needed, their
lifestyle would change, and as a result they would be spending more money, which
they do not have. Most of them cannot afford the expense of buying these new
merchandises. They are not financially ready for this big commitment. Also, the
economy is indenting into millennials judgment that perusing education is the first
priority. The advantage of a college degree makes millennials want to invest more of
their time into education rather than a home. They are more devoted to finish all
levels of schooling before making any investments. It is completely normal for the
society and millennials to view life this
27. Evaluation Of The Different Treatment Choices For The...
Evaluation of the different treatment choices for the management of seasonal allergic
rhinitis.
Allergic rhinitis (AR) is an inflammatory condition which affects the membrane lining
of the nose; causing it to become sensitive to allergens such as pollen, dust and animal
dander. During AR, antigens bind with immunoglobulin E(IgE) to form an antigen
antibody complex which then attach themselves to the surface of nasal mast cells;
inducing a cascade of cellular events leading to mast cell degranulation and the
release of histamine via exocytosis. The release of histamine and other inflammatory
mediators on blood vessel and nerve endings results in the symptoms of AR such as
sneezing, itching and nasal discharge (rhinorrhoea). AR which occurs the same time
every year is known as seasonal AR or more commonly known as hay fever .
Avoiding causative allergens is essential in the management of the symptoms of AR;
however, drug treatment is used to alleviate and control its symptoms. This
evaluation will focus on the use of H1 anti histamines, corticosteroids and IgE
therapy in the treatment and management of seasonal AR. (ARIA, 2008)
Treatment options
Drug treatment in the management of AR includes the use of selective H1 anti
histamines, corticosteroids and in persistent, uncontrollable cases, immunotherapy
may be an option. H1 anti histamines and corticosteroids are routinely used in the
treatment of AR are available in topical formulations such as nasal sprays and eye
28. Metamorphosis In Homer s The Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis is a concept we are all familiar with, normally using the word to
refer to the changes insects go through, specifically butterflies. (Hook) However,
there is another idea of metamorphosis, that does not involve a caterpillar creating a
cocoon. Humans experience metamorphosis throughout their lives, changing the way
they act and behave. Metamorphosis is also experienced in the form of disguises,
which can be used to serve many different purposes. (Discussion) This idea of
metamorphosis is an important aspect of identity in mythological texts. (Thesis) In
the Odyssey, Homer uses metamorphosis on the character Athena to help her fulfill
her role as a mentor. Ovid s The Metamorphoses also uses metamorphosis of the
characters Io... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without the use of the disguises, Athena would not have been able to fulfil her
role in the story as Telemachus s mentor. Another instance where Athena uses a
disguise to act as a mentor is closer to the end of the book. Athena was disguised as
a common man, and walked up to Odysseus, who was unaware of his location.
Excited to see another person, Odysseus asks for help in protecting him and his
belongings, along with asking where he currently is. Athena accused Odysseus of
being uneducated man for not realizing he is in the well recognized country of
Ithaca. Odysseus is ecstatic to find out he has arrived back in his home land, and
formulates a lie about how he came to arrive where he did, sure not to give away his
identity. Here Athena is using her power to disguise herself to give Odysseus
information about his location. In addition to this situation, Lippi mentioned in his
article how Athena had assisted Odysseus in upwards of fifty situations (2011). This
great amount of involvement Athena had in the story shows how important her and
her metamorphosis was to The Odyssey. Additionally, metamorphosis is also a major
component in Metamorphoses by Ovid. Ovid tells the story of Io, who is spotted by
Jupiter, who noticed that she was
29. A Short Note On Clean Magic Eraser Sponge
It is often heard that the job that really matters in a female s life (even on a day that
is meant to celebrate them) is having them do what they do best , cleaning.
The ad that I personally chose to discuss is a mother s day Mr. Clean Magic Eraser
Sponge advertisement. This is a double sided utility sponge in which it may be
used to clean all sorts of surfaces. It accordingly built to get all your tough stains
out. This sponge is very easy to use, and will work on really any surface that one
desires to use it on. This advertisement really doesn t have a specific age that it
intends to target, but it does target a solo demographic. Women.
In America today, the use of stereotypes has become very commonplace in today s
society. It is ridiculously amazing how easy it is for people to throw labels on one
another. Another thing that amazes me is that the media has always found it easier to
attack the female demographic. Women often are labeled as stay home wives ,
maids , as for women commonly hearing that we are not capable of performing
several forms of hard labor.
The Mr. Clean Mother s Day advertisement is promoting a magic sponge eraser in
which it is used to clean a kitchen, bathroom and or preferably any given surface.
Aside from the picture of the product, there are a few words placed at the top left
corner. Those words state: This mother s day, get back to the job that really matters.
Despite the advertisement showing off the product, another thing some

The Stockton Civic Theatre s production of Avenue Q last Thursday night depicts an
accurate portrayal of life after graduating from college. The protagonist is a fresh
out of college puppet named Princeton who is trying to seek a job and housing in the
outer borough of New York City. After finding a cheap and unoccupied room in an
apartment located on Avenue Q, Princeton befriends his neighbors who are made
up of both people and puppets. Princeton meets and falls in love with an
elementary teacher, Kate Monster. Together they face the same real life problems
couples deal with in present times. Throughout the whole performance, Princeton
is constantly troubled about finding his purpose in life. Princeton, who is played
by Jacob Bronson has the ability to connect with the audience despite being visible
holding the puppet on stage. Bronson is not only a good actor, but also excels in
his singing. He has a very loud and distinctive voice which is proven in the
beginning of the play, What Do You Do with a B.A. in English? Kate Monster,
who is played by Randi Linee also has the ability to connect with the audience even
though she is clearly visible holding the puppet. She gives Kate a very vibrant and
expressive character and uses hand movements to help show Kate s emotions. Kate s
hand gestures are not a big distraction unlike the other actors holding puppets. Linee s
representation of the emotion of being distraught over love is very realistic and
makes the audience

Characters are an important literary aspect an author uses to communicate their
message to their audience. There are multiple strategies an author uses to make their
story more compelling and thought provoking. One strategy an author uses is to
incorporate a dynamic character into their written work. A dynamic character is a
character that changes overtime throughout a story due to conflicts that they
encounter. Dynamic characters in a short story serve a purpose. Just the use of a
dynamic character can change the way an audience perceives a story. It is also
common that a dynamic character will be a protagonist in the story. Two great
literary works, The Chrysanthemums written by John Steinbeck and The Yellow
Wallpaper written by Charlotte Perkins Gilmanboth contain a dynamic character.
Elisa Allen, a typical farmer in The Chrysanthemums and the narrator, who suffers
from depression in The Yellow Wallpaper both experience obstacles that shift their
mind set and idea of self worth in society. Elisa Allen and the narrator are both
dynamic characters whose journeys bring to the realization their loss of identity.
In The Chrysanthemums , Steinbeck writes in third person however, he focuses
entirely on Elisa s point of view. He sets the stage in the winter in the Salinas Valley
where there is fog that covers the foothill ranches. Steinbeck description of Henry
Allen s foothill ranch, where Elisa and Henry reside sets the tone of the story.
Steinbeck describes the
33. Importance Of School Dress Codes
How School Dress Codes are Detrimental to Girls.
In many American middle and high schools, there are rules on how you must dress.
The most known of these are that boys must wear shirts and must not show their
underwear, and girls must have shorts or skirts be fingertip length, not show
shoulders or bra straps, and not show too much cleavage. The rules vary by school,
but most of these rules are geared towards young women. College and real life do
not have dress codes. Employers have dress codes so that their employees can convey
to customers what the business wants them too, but dress codes in public high
schools are sexist and teach young women that their education is less valuable than
that of a man s. Firstly, most school dress codes are aimed at girls. According to the
dress code of my alma mater, Lakota West High School, there are twelve items of
clothing that are not allowed that are directed towards girls, and only 3 that are
specific to boys. There are more that are unisex, but I have singled out the ones that
are gender specific. Why are girls the ones who are more restricted by the dress
code? Imagine you are a young man getting ready for school in the morning. If
your outfit doesn t have oversized armholes, dog collars/spikes, or drug or alcohol
related messages, congratulations! You re ready for school. Now, if you re a
young woman getting ready for school, your outfit must not show your bra straps,
have sleeves that cover your entire shoulder, and not have oversized armholes.
Your shorts or skirt cannot be past your fingertips, which for some girls with long
arms means wearing jeans even in 90 degree weather. Your jewelry and piercings
must not be potentially harmful (it is up to the staff to dictate what is and what s
not), and your hair and makeup must not disrupt the educational process. (Again, it
is the job of the staff to decide what is disruptive, there are no set guidelines.) It s a
lot harder to get ready for school as a girl, which just adds more stress to get ready in
the morning, and gives them one other thing to worry about besides schoolwork. The
reasoning I ve often heard behind makeup and not showing shoulders for girls is to
not distract other students. Since most

The day I got my dog may have been the utmost prosperous day of my young life.
We had always had pets, but none of them were ever truly welcomed into our
house. Any pet of ours previously was only home on grill nights, a break from their
duty as a guard dog, or they were left to live in a built to scale house out in the
backyard. We set out for something different when our guard dogBane died, because
we all had our special moments with him. We all needed something to take our
minds off of what happened, so we started looking into adopting another dog. The
year of 2013 when Bane left landed on the same year that I became an only child
within the house. Both my sister Shayla and my brother Dustin had moved out of
the house and living their own lives. I no longer had siblings to have fun with. We
were left with a perfect opportunity to find a younger dog, and to then raise it to be
a guard dog. My dad and I were hoping to find a Rottweiler specifically, as they
make great guard dogs, and automatically scare people. We tried once to adopt a
puppy in Minnesota, but they would not let us adopt him because we weren t from

Daisy is a genetically modified cow that has been engineered to produce milk that is
free of the ОІ lactoglobulin protein (BLG), which is not produced in humans that
some people especially infants, are allergic to through skin, digestive and

engineered Daisy through a process called gene knockdown and cloning by somatic
cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) to shut down the gene responsible for this protein. This
genetic alteration decreased the amount of BLG in Daisy s milk to approximately
5% of original levels however; it caused the increase in concentration of caseins,
which is another milk protein that could still cause allergic reactions. The process of

It is usually either reproductive cloning or therapeutic cloning. The process of
cloning by Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) is a process in which a donor
somatic cell with the already genetically modified nucleus and the ability to
produce RNAi molecules was taken from a cow and a enucleated metaphase II egg
cell from another cow is fused with it. The cells are collected from the donors and
cultured in vitro. The somatic donor cell will not express genes as it can be made
to return to a dormant or embryonic state by the process of depriving it of nutrients.
The nutrient deprived somatic cell containing the nucleus will stop dividing where
gene knockdown has already taken place to reduce the effect of the BLG protein
and can now be used to fuse with the enucleated egg cell. The donor somatic cell
and the membrane of the egg cell are fused together by a mild electric pulse and a
certain amount of time is needed between the first and second electric pulses to
allow time for the yet unknown factors in the cytoplasm to activate the chromatin.
The nucleus of the somatic cell is reprogrammed by the enucleated egg cell. This
time in vitro also allows time for the embryos to develop into a blastocyst. A
blastocyst is a bundle of cells which possess an inner cell mass. This can be seen in
the diagram opposite. During this delayed time period the cell is

laws respecting Indians, more commonly identified as the Indian Act. Introduced in
Canadain 1876, the Indian Act was a consolidation of pre existing legislation that
reflected the Canadian government s primary goal of assimilation. As the self
appointed fiduciary duty of the Canadian government to protect and civilize First
Nationsmembers, the Act imposed the first classification of Indian status on the First
Nations people of Canada. The Act also implemented the process of enfranchisement
which encouraged and/or forced First Nations members to abandon their status and
traditional way of life to become fully functioning members of Canadian society. Yet,
despite the government s honourable intentions, the Indian Act promoted gender
based discrimination towards the women of Canada s First Nations communities,
resulting in a loss of status, status rights, and identity for generations of women. This
essay will explore the notion of fiduciary duty, will provide an overview of
39. Poor Compliance Essay
The issue and impact of poor compliance grow with the ageing of the world
population. Compliance to long term therapy for chronic illnesses in developed
countries averages 50%. In developing countries, the rates are even lower . Poor
compliance to long term therapies severely compromises the effectiveness of
treatment, making this a critical issue in population healthboth from the perspective of
quality of life and of health economics. Studies consistently find significant cost
savings and increases in the effectiveness of health interventions that are attributable
to low cost interventions for improving compliance. Compliance is an important
modifier of health system effectiveness.

Clinicians now learn how to ask about medication compliance (using nonjudgmental
questions followed by open ended questions, e.g. Many people find it hard to take all

Also pharmacists have several tools at their disposal to identify noncompliance
problems early and implement corrective action. The traditional pharmacistsВґ brown

e.g. over the counter medications) is an effective way to start a dialogue with the
patient using show and tell method (pharmacists remove items from the bag, shaking

There are many reasons why people gamble and what the advantages and
disadvantages are of risking your bank account on the roll of the dice or the luck
of the draw. I originally set out to try and explain why people gamble, but I
realized that gambling is just as much of a business or industry as anything else. I
researched Foxwoods casino, in CT, and the business behind that. From there I will
attempt to explain the cause and effect of gambling. Gambling has made much more
sense to me now, and I hope it will do the same for you.

All of the success the Pequots have experienced has occurred due to the signing of
the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) on October 17, 1988. This act permitted
class III gaming establishments by American Indian Tribes. The Act stated that Tribal
governments were the primary regulators on Indian Gaming but that the Tribes were
required to negotiate with their specific states to conduct a Class III gambling
establishment. This is called the state regulatory layer to state tribal compact
agreements. After the IGRA was passed the Pequots pursued a Malaysian rubber
company of Genting International requesting a loan, which they eventually secured.
It was paid off in just seven months. Genting International also lent the tribe an
additional $142 million for expansion and a 610 room hotel and formed a
partnership to build a second 330 room hotel nearby.
The pact between the State of Connecticut and The Mashantucket Pequots gave the

41. What Causes Joint Pain
Joint pain and other musculoskeletal conditions are the most prevalent causes of
chronic pain worldwide, affecting over 50 million people in the USA alone. The most
common form of joint pain is Arthritis which is a disease that causes pain, swelling
and restricted movement in joints. There are various types of arthritis such as
Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritisand Gout.
Arthritis (along with other rheumatic conditions) has been the leading cause of
disability among US adults for the past 15 years. According to Dr Vijay Vad, (Dr

The origins of rheumatic conditions such as arthritis date back to ancient times.

However there are various treatments (both conventional to mainstream medicine, and
alternate treatments) for RA. The most important thing is to begin treatment early,
before the joints undergo permanent damage. The most important and successful
treatment is that of starting treatment with DMARDs (disease modifying ant
rheumatic drugs) that not only relieve the symptoms of RA, but also slow down
the progression of the disease itself. Anti inflammatory drugs have also proven to be
successful in managing symptoms of RA. (Eric Ruderman, 2013).. Physical and
occupational therapy as well as low impact exercise also have beneficial effects on
the symptoms of RA due to them strengthening the joint and improving mobility. For
severe RA that cannot be helped by other treatments, surgery has proven to be
beneficial as well. There are also a number of alternative treatments for RA.
According to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Network (RASN), Organic turmeric
is very successful in terms of its benefits to relieving symptoms of RA. This is due to
the fact that it is a natural antioxidant and anti inflammatory agent that also has bone
protective properties (a study by the US National Institute of Health in 2012 on rats
has proved this) (Kamarudin TA,
42. Mother-Daughter Relationships
The relationship between parents and their children is one of the most basic human
interactions. Mothers and daughters provide both physical and emotional care for
their young sons and daughters. In the process, parents will instill children with
family values and goals, while teaching them the accepted norms and values of
society. This is done in hope that parents will one day see their own children become
mature adults, with their own goals and purposes in life.
Mother daughter relationships can be complex, but also filled with compassion and
love. Mothers and daughters often seem farther away from each other than they really
are. Usually when a girl goes through adolescence, the relationship between her and

#Even Western civilization has a history of unrealistic expectations about mothers.
They are held responsible for their children s happiness. Many people have troubles
growing up enough to see their mothers as people. As Mary Pipher writes in her
book, Reviving Ophelia, of studies about adolescent girls, #distant mothers are
scorned, but mothers who are to close are accused of smothering and
overprotecting. Each chapter of Reviving Ophelia opens with a different scenario
and in her book, Pipher gives equal voices to both mothers and daughters. Maybe
the first step of a daughter towards maintaining a good relationship with her
mother, is for her to see her mother as an individual. Growing up requires
adolescent girls to reject the person with whom they are most closely identified.
Daughters are socialized to have a tremendous fear of becoming like their mothers,
but maybe if they tried enough to really look at and understand their mothers, this
would no longer be a fear to them. I personally think that many girls do not realize
they may have this fear themselves. I know I did not realize I held it within myself,
but then I also realized there was a lot more to my mother that I cared to see. Once I
saw past my close mindedness, I understood that there was nothing wrong with
growing up and acting a little like my mom. In fact, there were some qualities my
mother held that I wanted to imitate when I was a mother
43. The Stereotypes Of Hope Leslie By Catharine Sedgwick
And...
The encounters with Native Americans are a significant aspect of the literature of the
Early Americans. We can learn about both parties through the constant stereotypes
against the Native Americans by white people. These stereotypes impacted the culture
of society for future generations by making it look as though all Indians are bad
people with bad intentions. For example, the attempt to bring out the inner savagery
of the Indian culture. There are many stereotypes for example, the conversion of
Indians to another culture and forcing them to recognize the white culture as the
dominant culture over their native one. They had small chances of being accepted by
either society that they were born into or apart of. Finally, the miscegenation between
Native Americans and white people, or the intermarriage between cultures. The two
texts that I will be using to elaborate on this topic are, Hope Leslie by Catharine
Sedgwick and Edgar Huntly by Charles Brockden Brown. The stereotypes of Native
Americans in Early American literature have left an everlasting influence on the
American culture. The main theme in most of these stories try to bring out the inner
savagery of the Indian culture which is the most obvious stereotype seen in them. In
Edgar Huntly, this is seen the most in numerous occasions throughout the book.
When Edgar, the main character was very young his parents were killed by Indians
and ever since then he had been afraid of them. Although this soon

Gun Control Now
Before we can set a plan for the future, or paint a picture of the past that led us to
where we are now, we must first take a snapshot of gun control legislation as it
exists now. As legislation varies greatly between states, we ll start by looking at gun
control at the federal level.
As a law abiding private citizen, with no special exceptions, you must be 18 years of
age to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, and 21 to purchase a handgun.
However, to possess firearms and handguns, as well as purchase from a private
seller and make for personal use, these ages are reduced to 0 and 18 respectively.
Additionally, you are unable to own armor piercing ammunition and machine guns
(weapons that fire multiple cartridges per pull of the trigger) manufactured after
1986 (18 U.S. Code В§ 922).
Additionally, the National Firearms Actof 1934 (NFA) places additional restrictions
on certain weapons which feature certain characteristics. However, NFA weapons are
not explicitly illegal to possess as a normal citizen, but instead require a lengthy and
expensive registration process, which includes a much more in depth background
check, and adds additional regulation to the use of such weapons.
Many such NFA weapons fall into what people consider a slippery slope of gun
ownership. Under the NFA, private citizens are still allowed to own and use Short
Barreled Rifles and Shotguns (which includes such weapons under a total weapon

45. The Role Of The Gods In The Odyssey
The Olympic gods are the characters in both the Illiad and the Odyssey and their
lines are inseparable from both narrations. Nevertheless, not only their roles are of a
different nature, but also their influence on mortal characters differs. If the primary
role of gods lies in a designation of human fate and their power is determined by the
ability to control it, gods fulfill their function in the Illiad, while in the Odysseytheir
role is limited. As a result the unrestricted power of gods and the predetermination of
fate in the Illiad contrasts their relative insignificance in the Odyssey. This in turn,
serves as source of difference in the gods human relationships in the texts. This essay
will demonstrate the manifestations of the disparity in the roles of gods in the
narratives and further reflect on its consequences. The question of the possible causes
of the contrast in gods function raises with the sameness of their external depiction in
the texts. In both narratives gods appear in the human personification. They do not

Odyssey they are not able to take humans lives even if they wish. Zeus makes a

biological, social implications, or a combination of both. I believe a combination
of both. As children we are told that girls should act a certain way and boys act
another way. Boy s are taught not to cry and girls should play with doll babies. As
we grow up we try to fit in what s expected of us. A couple of years back, I believe

47. Database Used for Reporting and Data Analysis
Introduction
In computing, a data warehouse (DW, DWH), or an enterprise data warehouse
(EDW), is a database used for reporting and data analysis. Integrating data from one
or more disparate sources creates a central repository of data, a data warehouse
(DW). Data warehouses store current and historical data and are used for creating
trending reports for senior management reporting such as annual and quarterly
comparisons.
The data stored in the warehouse is uploaded from the operational systems (such as
marketing, sales, etc., shown in the figure to the right). The data may pass through an
operational data store for additional operations before it is used in the DW for
reporting.
A fundamental concept of a data warehouse is the distinction between data and
information. Data is composed of observable and recordable facts that are often
found in operational or transactional systems. At Rutgers, these systems include the
registrar s data on students (widely known as the SRDB), human resource and
payroll databases, course scheduling data, and data on financial aid. In a data
warehouse environment, data only comes to have value to end users when it is
organized and presented as information. Information is an integrated collection of
facts and is used as the basis for decision making.
The data warehouse is that portion of an overall Architected Data Environment that
serves as the single integrated source of data for processing information. The data
warehouse has specific

Building static variables and methods means building class members that hold the
same values through all instances. No matter how many instances of a class I
instantiate, static members will retain the same value. This is useful for global
placement of data. Building non static variables and methods means building class
members that are unique to each instance of the class you create. Create a backbone

Chapter five teaches me to instantiate variables of references of objects with the
new keyword, before trying to use my variable. How I Can Use Null Pointer
Wisdom in My Own Programming at Home Moreover, many programmers, like
me, have their development cycle haulted when the SDK or 3DEngine crashes,
and all the console says is null pointer exception. From reading chapter five, I can
tell you this exception is thrown when an object referenced variable was not
instantiated. This error is simple to fix, takes initializing the troubled variable with
the new keyword and constructor of its referenced object class, and there we go.
Months of questioning and advice seeking on SDK forums can be bypassed with
chapter five, when all you really need to do is identify which variable on the call
stack is causing the null pointer reference. Identify which object reference it
should have, and initialize it with the new keyword and class constructor. Arrays
of Type Object I like writing in depth learning journals, because looking back on
learning journals point out material I find especially interesting. Arrays of type
object are handy when you ve created an object class, and need to spawn an array
of them. In video game programming, often it s useful to create a bullet object, or a
character object, or a background object. Knowing Java creates array of objects help
programmers rapidly spawn multiple types of their objects. Java is one of my

Rawls Difference Principle and its Compatibility with Democratic Equality
Introduction
With a limited availability of wealth and resources, all societies are posed with a
common dilemma: how ought these goods be distributed among members of the
community in a way that is just? In A Theory of Justice, John Rawls, an influential
political philosopher of the 20th century, attempts to provide a solution to this
dilemma by presenting a hypothetical situation, known as the Original Position, in
which multiple parties determine the principles that will constitute the basic structure
of the society they will live in. In order to ensure that the party members make their
choices impartially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other component of Rawls justification of inequalities is the difference
principle. It holds that inequalities in wealth and social status are permitted just in
case that they benefit the least well off. Thus, Injustice [...] is simply inequalities
that are not to the benefit of all (Rawls, 1971). Rawls suggests that the least well
off can be defined as those who occupy the class of unskilled workers and hold the
least amount of wealth in society. He also suggests that inequalities be evaluated
through an index of primary goods . Primary goods are those that are essential for
one to exercise his moral powers, such as rights and liberties, power and opportunity,
and health and intelligence (Quong, 2017). Thus, the index of primary goods is
representative of one s expectations of having the necessary primary goods in order
to function as a citizen while exercising his moral powers.
Examples of permissible inequalities as according to the difference principle lie in
idea of incentive. For instance, Rawls argues that inequalities in income are just,
because they provide an incentive to work and contribute to the overall well being of
the society. Thus, the skilled or talented workers of the society would require more
income in order to stay productive. Without the higher income as an incentive, the
talented workers would not be as productive, which in turn negatively impacts the
least well off, as there

Military deployments are hard on everyone involved: family, friends, and even the
person enrolled. While the time they are away may be tough, their homecoming is a
fantastic time of reunion. Oftentimes, families and friends will throw their military
loved one a homecoming reunion party. If you are thinking about doing this, keep
these four tips in mind to ensure it is a smashing success:
1. Talk With Your Loved One
Before you decide to throw any type of party, you should talk with your loved one.
Sometimes, people in the military do not want a big party. On the other hand,
sometimes they do want a big party. To make sure their reunion is something that

Keep The House Clean
While you do not need to go overboard and have an immaculate house, the house
should be clean. After traveling and being on the road for many months, your
loved one doesn t want to come home to a dirty house or worse, be expected to
clean. In general, make sure the laundry and dishes are done. You might also want to
pick up some clutter, especially if you have children. Otherwise, don t get too bogged
down by cleaning.
If you are having a large party, you might want to consider renting out a banquet
hall at a hotel. This will prevent the need for you feeling like you need to clean
every square inch of your home. It will also provide enough space for guests. If you
want, you can even rent out some rooms for a relaxing night. If you do go this route,
be sure to ask your local hotels about military reunion discounts. Oftentimes, hotels
will offer discounted rates for those in the military.
3. Enlist In The Help Of A Friend
Planning a party can be stressful, but it doesn t have to be. Talk with your friends
and recruit one or five to help you out. If they have another family member in the
military, it might be an enjoyable experience for them too. Get together and make it
a big affair and have fun with it. Make signs, bake some cookies, and enjoy a class of
wine if that s what you re in

five separate beachheads along the coast of Normandy, France. Altogether,
approximately 178,000 Allied airborne and infantry troops were deployed. This
invasion allowed the Allies to move into France and launch a final assault against
Germany. Prior extensive preparations were instrumental in the success of the D Day

The aerial bombing campaign enacted by the Allies resulted in several critical
German airfields, military bases, and road networks being destroyed, and helped
bolster the deception campaign. The RAF and USAF deployed 11,000 aircraft,
flew 200,000 sorties, and dropped 195,000 tons of bombs on strategic German
targets, such as airfields and coastal artillery batteries, while the Luftwaffe were
only able to employ 400 aircraft on D Day due to targeted Allied bombing. An
increased frequency of air attacks on German networks in the days leading up to
the invasion slowed down the Germans by forcing them to take detours. This
impeded upon Hitler s strategy, as he was attempting to transport troops from afar
instead of Pas de Calais to support the invasion, and was pivotal for Allied success
because it lessened the number of nearby available enemy troops, thereby allowing
the infantry to launch the attack with less resistance. Furthermore, the Allied aerial
bombing campaign bolstered the deception campaign, as two thirds of bombs were
dropped outside Pas de Calais to divert attention from Normandy. Consequently,
Allied aerial bombardment was critical to the success of D Day, as it allowed for
German travel and supply routes to be destroyed and protected the
