- Lasers target superficiallayers of the skin (e.g. fine lines, wrinkles, pigment changes) but can’t get to the deep skin layers because of the high temperature.Radiofrequency devices can go deeper than lasers, but don’t get as hot as lasers.Ultherapy is the best of both worlds – it addresses the superficial dermis (1.5mm), the deep skin layer (3.0mm) AND the foundational layer addressed in surgery (4.5mm) at a temperature ideal for collagen denaturationUltrasound bypasses the upper layers of the skin to deliver the right amount of energy at the right depths.Ultrasound also allows us to see where the energy will be delivered.
