18. Step 2: Draw part of a photo using a variety of line
techniques
What to focus on/how you will be evaluated:
• Shapes, forms, and textures are accurate to the photo
• Attention has been paid to proportion and placement of
subject matter. Consider finding the mid-point, making a
grid, or dividing the reference photo and drawing paper
in some way so you can double check proportions as you
sketch.
• Drawing displays a variety of line techniques
• Drawing accurately depicts values (dark to light)
• You have shown attention to detail
• You have used excellent craftsmanship

23. • Begin with a pencil sketch.
• Compare your drawing to the photo reference. Is
everything placed correctly?
• Use markers of different thicknesses to create a
variety of lines and values.
• We will assemble the drawings when they are
complete and your subject matter will be
