1. Easy Setting up of SMTP Mail for
iPhone
The popularity of the iPhone is increasing with every
passing day. Nowadays, one does not need to use their
iPhones only for personal communication but can use
them for business purposes as well.
But when businessmen try to use their iPhones for
sending emails, they often face difficulties in doing so.
This is because most mail servers only allow a fixed
number of emails to be sent per day by individuals.
However, when individuals get SMTP servers installed
they are able to send mass emails and actually enjoy the
emailing process. So if you have an iPhone and wish to
set up SMTP Mail on it, then you are going to have to
follow these steps:
2. You have to first identify the name of your email
server and which protocols it uses. This is usually
found in the Help or FAQ sections on the service's
website. Most email servers use a naming format like
"mail.example.com," or "smtp.example.com."
The next step would be to go to the "Settings" icon
on your iPhone. Scroll down and then tap "Mail,
Contacts, Calendars." Then tap on "Add Account."
Select "Other" from the list of email services to
configure an SMTP email account.
3. Enter your name and email address in the fields
provided. Include a description of the account so that
you can easily identify it if you access more than one
email address from your iPhone.
4. You need to wait for the iPhone to locate the mail
server for your email account. This should only take a
few seconds depending on your iPhone's signal
strength.
Tap on "SMTP" located under "Outgoing Mail Server."
Tap on your mail server's SMTP server. Then select
"On" from the On/Off slider.
You also have to look at entries for any other email
addresses you may use form your iPhone. Make sure
those are turned on in the "Other SMTP Services"
section.
Press the menu button on the bottom of your iPhone
when you are finished configuring your SMTP email.
5. By following the following steps, one can easily install
SMTP Mail for their iPhones. However, if they have any
trouble in doing so they can always contact their SMTP
service provider for assistance.
