1. Brief Profile
I (Vinay N Paranjape) am working with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the last 4 years
and am presently posted in Corporate Office, Gurgaon as Additional General Manager (Law) and I
am also the Corporate Legal Head of the entire Corporation. Before joining POWERGRID
Corporation, I have worked at senior level positions in legal domains of reputed Public Sector and
Private sector companies. I was a practising lawyer in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh during
1993-1998 having specialisation in Writs and State Administrative tribunal under Senior Advocate
Shri C L Kotecha. I completed my graduation in Law from Barkatullah University, Bhopal (in the
year 1993) securing first division marks and first position in the merit. I have also done my LL.M.
from Rani Durgavati University, Jabalpur (in the year 1996); Ph.D. in Chemistry from Barkatullah
University (in the year 1998), Ph.D. In Law from C.C.S. University (in the year 2003) and M.B.A.
with specialization in Human Resources and International business from Maharshi Dayanand
University, Meerut (in the year 2014).
During my entire career progression of 23 years in Law profession, I have handled various
litigations arbitrations (domestic and international), contractual matters, tendering issues, intellectual
property laws, competition law, Real Estate, Commercial & Regulatory issues viz. LNG Gas Sale &
Purchase Agreements, Long term (Open) Access Agreements, Financing Agreements, JV
Agreements, Technology transfer / sharing agreements, distribution and dealership agreements,
exploration and production agreements etc. I have been instrumental in saving / earning revenue and
prestige to my various employer organisations in India & abroad. I have also been handling various
legal aspects pertaining to Mergers and Acquisitions, and creation of Joint Ventures and
subsidiaries. Legal due diligence, and rendering of legal opinions to my employer organisations.
I am also the Member of Standing Legal Committee of Standing Conference of Public Enterprises in
India (SCOPE) and have been conducting workshops, seminars on various important legal issues. I
am a life member of Indian Council of Arbitration. I was also an Adjunct Professor (Law) and
Member, Board of Studies in Symbiosis Law School, Pune (2010-2013). Five students have
