Create a facebook fan page

 1. 1. Create a Facebook Fan Page
By Laurie Griffith
SocialDzine
2. 2. Creating a Facebook Fan Page is simple if you have all the information you’ll need in advance. Prior to starting your page, make sure you have the following information:
3. 3. What You Need

Name of page
 4. 4. Address
 5. 5. All phone numbers
 6. 6. All email addresses
 7. 7. Website address
 8. 8. Business start date
 9. 9. Company overview
 10. 10. Description
 11. 11. Mission
 12. 12. Vision

These are not absolutely necessary but will help add content to your page and give new viewers something to review when “liking” your page.

Pictures
 13. 13. Video (if you have some)
 14. 14. Articles or Blogs

Lets get started
What type of business are you promoting?
You’ll need a name as well and this is the most important part of creating the page. You don’t want to use the business name here, yet!
15. 15. Get creative with the name of the page…
Examples:

Pet store -- Fido’s favorite place
 16. 16. Shoe Store -- That must have pair of shoes
 17. 17. Insurance company -- Peace of mind

Make your page a phrase people will “LIKE” it’s easier for people to click the like button when it’s a statement they agree with.
18. 18. This is what you’ll see every time you go to your page. (fans will not see the insights on the left or the “get started” tab at the top)
In this section always put how people can reach you: Phone, Email and website address:ALWAYS! Add a little more about your business or non profit to give them an idea of what type of information you’ll be sharing.
19. 19. Three important things you’ll need often:

Edit page allows you to change information about the page, permission and delete if you ever need to.
 20. 20. Suggest to friends is how you can share your page with YOUR friends.
 21. 21. Change picture is where you can upload or change your logo or picture. I suggest using a picture of clients or employees. Something more relatable than a logo.

You can change your picture as often as you like and once a week keeps things fresh.
For starters you’ll need to upload a picture since you won’t have any already.
If you have a cell phone with a GOOD camera, you can chose “Take a Picture”
Once you’ve uploaded numerous photos you can change the picture by choosing from your album.
22. 22. Here is where all the information I made you gather earlier comes in handy. You want to fill in as much as you possibly can here. With emails, add all the public email addresses your company has:

Sales
 23. 23. Customer service
 24. 24. Info

Managing permission is important. You don’t want to ever eliminate the option for fans to comment on your page or see fans comments. Transparency is key. If someone is dissatisfied with your product or services, this is your chance to win them back and show your potential clients that your clients are important to you.
25. 25. Here are the tabs that you have on your fan page at the top of the page. You can edit permission and visibility. If you have a blog, you can go to your “Notes” tab and add your blog site: http://www.socialdzine.wordpress.com where it asks for it and click that you have permission and all the blogs you have written will appear in the notes and in your fans feed and every time you write a blog it will automatically appear on your Facebook fan page.
26. 26. Once you have 25 fans you can create a username. What this means is that you will be able to chose the URL address of your page. So when someone wants to find your page without searching or even logging into Facebook, they can go directly to your Facebook web address. Ex: www.facebook.com/socialdzine
27. 27. Done!
Now that your Facebook fan page has been created it is up to you to maintain it. By “liking” your posts you will be notified when someone comments or likes it as well and this gives you a chance to thank them or comment back. If you have more questions or would like someone to create this for you, email laurie@socialdzine.com
