An experienced issue advocacy, public relations and political consulting firm in central California is looking for a Director
of Strategic Communications.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Strategic Communications reports to the President/CEO and is responsible for developing and executing
strategic communications plans on behalf of our clients as well as supporting various marketing initiatives for the firm.
Responsibilities:
Develop an overall political, communications and stakeholder engagement strategy for identified clients
Identify, establish and maintain contact with key stakeholders in government, the private sector, think
tanks/academia, business and taxpayer advocates and the general public in support of client projects
Track client project utilizing Salesforce or other company-implemented software
Develop and maintain good relationships with key journalists in newspapers and broadcasting outlets
Oversee the development and use of the Project’s website.
Work with and direct Community Relations Coordinator and Project Coordinator as well as contractors engaged
in client projects including graphic designers, advertising executives, social media managers and others
Develop key messages for client projects, as well as collateral material
Give public presentations on the projects, request support for client initiatives
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Applicant must display exceptional analytic, teamwork and communication skills.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in office software products, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point and
Outlook.)
Salary: Commensurate with experience:$50k-$60k
