It is located in Manhattan, New York.
The area is about 843 acres (3.41 ha).
It receives annually about 37.5 million of visitors.
The park initially was opened in 1857, but it was
expanded. The construction was completed in 1873.
There aren't two identical bridges in Central Park.
It's surrounded by: 5th Avenue, 59th St., Central Park
North St., and Central Park West St.

have been filmed like
Stuart Little (1999) or
Spider-Man 3 (2006).
In winter Central Park
has two ice skating
rinks that in summer
convert into a
swimming pool.
5. Park’s attractions
The Ramble is a zone of the
reservoir which is popular among
birders.
Take a kayak or a rowboat at Loeb
Boathouse at The Lake.
A horse riding, appeared in some
old films.
Playgrounds and Pedicabs for
friends and families.
Rock Climbing and Ice Skating
for youngs.
Marionettes and a centenary
carousel for the youngests of the
family.
6. Central Park Zoo
The Zoo is very small. Its area is only
6.5-acre (2.6 ha). It conserves 130
species, four of them, endangered. It was
open in 1860 and the last received animal
has been the snow leopard.
It has been the scene of many
movies like “Madagascar” and
“Mr. Popper penguins”. Also, the
children’s TV program “Penguins
of Madagascar”. Its entrance is
very famous.
7. Summer Entertainments
Each summer the Municipal Theatre presents
free open-air theatre plays. Most of them were
written by Shakespeare.
The New York Philharmonic and the
Metropolitan Opera offer concerts.
The City Parks Foundation makes free concerts,
film proyections and monologue contests.
The largest concert ever recorded, the Country
Superstar Garth Brooks, was performed in Central
Park in 1997.
The Tavern on the Green is one of the oldest
cafés in NY, but it was closed in December 31, in
2009.
