1. Tiles of the Future
The ceramic tile industry, as a product segment, has grown to a sizeable chunk today. The key driver for this industry is
the boom in the housing sector, with government policies fuelling this growth at an exponential rate. “Ceramic flooring
products are produced with clay. In these type of tiles, glaze is added and there is a decorative shiny finish on the top
most clay layer. They are among the most eco-friendly tiles, whereas the procedure of verification makes the product

2. Polished vitrified tiles are available in large sizes, in a variety of sophisticated shades and delicate patterns. Full body
vitrified tiles have color throughout the body of the tile which makes scratch less variable. Nano polished vitrified tiles
are smoother in feel. Glazed vitrified tiles offer the choice of making any sort of designs which is only feasible in this type
of tiles. Textures like wooden, bamboo, slate or granite are feasible with GVT. These tiles can give the interiors a picture
perfect look.
Tile manufacturing companies have also started using recycled content in their products to push sustainability goals.
Recycled ceramic tiles are generally not 100% recycled, but contain a substantial portion of recycled material. The
content of recycled material varies in type and percentage, depending on the manufacturers. It could range from 20-70
percent of recycled content with the higher end being obviously better. Generally a product is considered green if it
contains at least 40% post industrial recycled material or at least 20% post consumer recycled material. Any waste in
terms of raw material like clay, glaze, frit or semi-furnished material would be recycled content. The waste heat and
energy is also recycled.
