1 digit number
Using the Grid Method

First, split the 3 digit number into
hundreds, tens and units.
For example;
642 is split up as 600, 4O and 2
First, split the 3 digit number into
hundreds, tens and units.
For example;
642 is split up as 600, 4O and 2
289 is split up as 200, 80 and 9
First, split the 3 digit number into
hundreds, tens and units.
For example;
642 is split up as 600, 4O and 2
289 is split up as 200, 80 and 9
356 is split up as 300, 50 and 6
Then put the hundreds, tens and units into the top part of the
grid and the number that you are multiplying by down the side
of the grid.
For example: 642 x 7:
