Rana el Kaliouby presented on bringing emotional intelligence to digital devices and technologies. She discussed how emotions influence our lives and how current devices lack emotional intelligence (EQ). Her company Affectiva is developing technologies to recognize and interpret human emotions using facial analysis. They have created the world's largest emotional data repository analyzing over 3 million faces across 75 countries and 1,400 brands. Affectiva is working on applications in media/advertising, education, health, cars, smartphones and more to enhance digital experiences with emotional intelligence.
