- Upskilling and reskilling your staff are critical, so is setting a strong learning and talent development strategy that can adapt quickly to the workplace change.
- To formulate a future proof learning strategy, there are six emerging trends that you need to take into consideration. Broadly speaking, they could be classified into two categories: socio-economic trends and technology trends.
- Knowledge management becomes more important
- Culture and generations define privacy differently.
- content curation + creation is an important combination as people are not able to differentiate the signal from the noise
- Data becomes the new currency but what are the questions we need answers for.
- How do you work together with AI? We need human judgement more than ever. Example – adaptive learning making assumptions that we need to validate and adjust. AI data is inherently bias.
- The transformation of learning content we always wanted to happen inside our organisations (social, user-generated, just-in-time, just enough) has now taken place. But it has taken place outside of our organisations because of the increasingly mobile and personalized internet. Content that is social, just-in-time, just enough, and user-generated such as YouTube, Quora, podcasts, and even WhatsApp are being used as learning tools.
- beyond SCORM package in an LMS companies need to think beyond what people need to know for their current jobs. How can you provide values to your staff beyond their current job (micro credits, digital portfolio that go beyond the company) we need continuous assessments and feedback. Annual performance review is not sufficient. Feedback should be constant.
