ORGANIZATIONAL FLOW CHART for Plains ISD/Plains HS Superintendent – responsible for hiring high quality personnel District Technology Director – responsible for maintaining the existing technology infrastructure; planning for future upgrades and expanded technological use; organizing and supervising professional development activities for increased effectiveness in technology use; assist with day-to-day operations/maintenance.
3. ORGANIZATIONAL FLOW CHART- cont. Assistant District Technology Director – primary responsibility is day-to-day operations/maintenance; also assists District Technology Director in all other areas as needed. Principal – responsible for budgeting for classroom technology integration; responsible for insuring the utilization of available technology within the classroom; responsible for ongoing professional development and research into best classroom practices for the integration of technology into the classroom.
4. ORGANIZATIONAL FLOW CHART – cont. Teachers – responsible for integrating available technology into the current curriculum to provide the highest level of technology-based education possible; engaging in ongoing professional development to utilize best practices in technology inside the classroom; base instructional decisions on data gained from AEIS, AYP, and STaR Chart reports.
5. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Teachers will be provided professional development opportunities in the following areas: Use of applications and programs on the MacBook Pro laptop computer. District Acceptable Use Policy for Computers Curricula and teaching strategies that have been proven to effectively integrate technology into the classroom. Internet Safety
6. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT – cont. All professional development will be conducted in a timely manner with ongoing support from the District Technology Director and the Assistant District Technology Director. Best technology practices will be identified and used in the classroom.
7. EVALUATION/DATA ANALYSIS Teachers will use student performance and curriculum data that is provided and managed electronically, including gradebooks, RSCCC, AEIS, AYP, and TAKS reports, to make instructional decisions. Technology TEKS used in the classroom will be documented on lesson plans. STaR chart data will be provided to the teachers in order to enable them to identify areas of weakness and develop strategies to address and improve these areas of weakness. All professional development sessions will be evaluated for content and effectiveness immediately following each session.
