  portion of the nasal cavity. 100 million of
  them. Chemoreceptors

• The axons travel through the cribiformplate of
  the ethmoid bone to the hypothalamus and
  limbic lobe of the brain, which also control
  emotion and long-term memory
Taste (Gustatory Sense)
• 5 primary tastes: sour, sweet, bitter, salty, and
  umami

• Other flavors are combinations of the five
  primary tastes, plus olfactory and tactile
  sensations
