6. Careers & Courses
Impartial & Informative
• Inclusive: We explore all pathways into a career side by side, including
apprenticeships, further education, traineeships and volunteering.
• Informative: With our “Why Study…?” subject guides, we start the process
of understanding how your subject choices can unlock career options as
early as possible. Our “Skill Up” series encourages students to recognise
and develop their soft skills for work.
• Aspiration: We provide interviews with a range of inspiring people on their
careers, including apprentices, graduates and current students. We also
include career information directly from employers
• Action: Students can participate directly with our job, work experience and
course search tool
• Advice: We’ve teamed up with leading careers advice organisation, Adviza
to give one-to-one advice on our forums from a real life fully qualified
careers advisor.
10. Ofsted
We help schools/colleges meet their statutory Ofsted careers advice and
RPA obligations by:
• Providing independent, impartial advice.
• Covering all education and training options.
• Encouraging students to ‘aspire’, participate and explore further with links
and resources.
• Allowing students to select interests & preferences, which can shape
individual careers guidance given in school/college.
• Connecting schools/colleges and students with employers and work
experience opportunities.
• Promoting STEM and functional skills.
• Helping students recognize their core skills and build a skills passport,
which schools/colleges can use to monitor their progress.
11. Raising the Participation Age
What does the Success at School platform do?
• It helps students understand the academic and vocational routes
available to them.
• Providing students with a skills passport should ensure each student
understands and can work on core employability skills such as
leadership, communication and teamwork.
• We believe that students who are actively engaged will respond better to
careers advice. Our platforms lets students become stakeholders and
interact with polls, forums & competitions, plus access resources to
develop their interests and skills.
• Schools/colleges will be able to track students’ interests & preferences,
which can help shape the information they may need to stay in education
and prevent them from becoming NEET.
• We take the daunting responsibility of working directly with employers
away and centralise it through our platform.

Skills Student Management
13. Employers
• We work with national and local employers to connect them with schools/
colleges. Employers can list profiles, jobs, courses and work experience
plus interact with students directly in the forum.
• Schools/colleges can add local opportunities to their personalised site,
increasing direct relevance to their audience.
• Employers work with us because we provide schools/colleges with their
own unique platform so they can target schools/colleges both individually
and centrally with ease.
• We are building out our technology so local employers will be able to target
schools/colleges regionally too.
14. Destination Tracking
• Schools/colleges have the opportunity to retain students on their personal
sites as alumni in order to maintain contact and track their progress after
they leave, which will help to demonstrate the effectiveness of their
guidance.
• Alumni can contribute to the internal school/college forums and document
their paths to employment for the benefit of current students.
• Often the stories that have the greatest impact are from those who students
can affiliate or identify with. From the ages of 13-19, students are most
likely to identify with people from their area or school/college.

An emerging company that offers an online platform for CIAG tailored to your school. You can add what
you want for your schools needs. This is all free of charge - I would recommend joining for free while you
still can as I am sure this will be very popular with schools across the country and an invaluable resource
for you and your students!

16. How are we funded?
• We do not want to charge schools/colleges or LAs for our tools because we
do not want to make ourselves available only to those who can afford to
pay.
• We want our site to remain totally inclusive.
• Our funding model targets investment from businesses, individuals and
employers who want to make sure, like us, that online resources reach
young people in the right place and at the right time.
