2. High level thoughts I
HR vs. the three focus areas during the life of an employee
with the company.
• HR corporate new approach in dealing with an employee
consists of three main focus areas, i.e.:-
• Before joining the organization, this stage consists mainly of
attracting, recruiting and hiring.
• During employment, this stage starts from first day of joining
the organization till the last working day. It consists of many
main areas, e.g., orientation, IDP, job duties, compensation,
benefits, tasks etc.
• This stage starts from the first day after end of service with
the organization; it includes all the benefits, contacts with the
employee which can be in a form of contract employment,
advisory body, membership with the recreation center,
attending some events etc.

3. High level thoughts II
New approach requirements:
• First there is a need to identify all the departments within the
company that has some kind of activities/tasks related with
each of the three main focus areas.
• Analyze in details each function to understand the
requirement by that function and its relation to other
functions.
• Review each function processes to ensure alignment with the
others and avoid duplicated efforts.
• Draw a master plan with all the parties involved. Such plan
should have the tasks, the time frame and any needed
communication/ change management plan.
• Below chart show a high level sample of the link of what
thought to be the concern departments and the three focus
areas.
